Speaker 1 (00:21):
Hello, and welcome back to another episode of Ranger Alliance.
Of course, I'm your host, Clay, and with me like
every single week is of course, Jake, Jake, how you doing,
my friend?

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Oh, Clay, I am feeling super and that's because I
finally made it to the theater and after a very long,
overdue time. Yeah, great movie. We just got done talking
about it for like an hour almost, so yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
It was a great, great movie. I will probably maybe
see it one more time before it leaves theaters. I'm
definitely gonna I haven't bought a physical movie, and I
want to say the last physical movie I bought was
a Deadpool two, so I think now with Superman coming out,

(01:18):
it'll be my next physical media purchase. But yeah, great movie.
We also talked about you potentially seeing Fantastic four pretty soon.
I'm most likely gonna be watching that later tonight. Again,
but this isn't a Marvel podcast. If you would like
to listen to a Marvel podcast, you can go check

(01:39):
out Marvel Alliance. If you still haven't seen or listen
to the Superman review over at DC Alliance, you can
go ahead and do that as well. But this is
a Ranger podcast, A La Super Sintai podcast. We are
gonna be talking about episode twenty four of Ghost Yogur
number one, which is titled The Thief Causing a Stir

(02:03):
at School. And this was a lot more cheese than
I was expecting it to be, more so in the
sense of, like we talked about it last episode with Joe,
Joe had seen the preview, we had not, and Joe

(02:26):
was like, Oh, I think this will be this one
will be a little bit more fun, blah blah blah.
And it was fun. But I think what was more
surprising about this was the fact that it ended on
a cliffhanger, meaning we are getting a part two of
this story, so this is technically a part one. And

(02:51):
I actually want to bring up something that I saw
on on Twitter this morning, but before where we do that? Jake,
what what are your like surface level thoughts about this episode?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
So I know I've been kind of wanting more about
kin Jiro and more of his like backstory, and I
was really excited when I first felt like we were
going to get a little bit more like deeper into
his character because I felt like, you know, being trapped
in school and the Number one Monster was making everybody
kind of like hypnotized to never leave the school and

(03:29):
also made it to where their parents just didn't give
a shit about him anymore, which they never really explained,
but I guess it all works. But I was really
hoping that they were going to go deeper into his
character and then they kind of never really did. But
because it was a two part episode, I'm hoping that
there it leaves the door open for more. Yeah, But
the episode itself, you know, it was it was a

(03:50):
fun episode. Like I said, a lot of you know,
just shits. Getting to see everybody kind of join almost
like school clubs. Well we've seen Ryugij in a club,
and then we've seen Riku kind of go down the
hallway with the girls and kind of just do his
little heart throb teen idol thing where he's blowing everybody
this is and he's willing ladies and you know, some

(04:14):
gentlemen as well. And then we get to see Haru
and then he I just love that he's just like
three just hooligan dudes just come busting through the back
door and like start challenging into a fight out of nowhere.
It just shows how in a classroom just chilling and
then dudes bust and try to fight him, and we
get this really kind of weird scene with the teacher

(04:34):
kind of just shows everybody affection, and then I do
this you know group hug and everybody stops fighting. But hey,
you know it's it's high school. You know, weird shit
happens in high school. I think everybody can remember that.
I don't know if this weird of shit happened in
my high school, but I've seen a girl get a
foot blown off almost with the fireworks. That was kind
of weird.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, yeah, so I like a again, this was a
little bit more cheese than I thought it was gonna
be the premise behind this episode, because we open up
with a school a school girl talking to uh Samino

(05:19):
about how weird her school is and how she went
home and her parents didn't really like care that she
was there, even though she feels like she's been gone
for about six months. And then again, Takahara was like,
you know, he's the one that is always, you know,

(05:41):
wanting to be youthful. That's why he's a he's a
younger man right now. And so he's like, we will
definitely take your case. We're gonna do this. So when
they do go to the school, everything seems a little off.
Everything does.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
We did have the the the the warm open of
the battle between the two ring warriors. The only one
that we did see get revealed is who we find
out is the class president of the school. Uh. And

(06:23):
he is like wanting to protect the school from this
thief that is kidnapping.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Students, the phantom thief.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
The phantom thief. Yeah, and this this Sinai warrior, this
ring warrior is turning people into the keys that the
oh gosh, what is that? Uh? Of course it would
be the equivalent of super Maga Force here in the States.

(06:57):
Those keys used for the actual change. And that's the
last receipt of that scene. Of course, we go back
to Samino and Takahara. They're talking with the class president.
We get a short story about the original principle of
the school and now he has basically just turned now

(07:20):
into a janitor. He was like this very yeah, not
suspicious whatsoever. But he was this like adored individual. He
was the actual class president's like old sense taught him
out of fight. Like he was a overall just good

(07:42):
civilian principle of this school. Uh, and now that like
the class president is like now he's worthless, nobody wants
you around. I'm like, god, damn, dude, like calm down,
Like what like this this is now turned into like
a weird situation. I don't know what's going on here
is the vibes that I immediately.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Got our janitor's too back in high school. So it's
not that strange to think about it like that.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
But yeah, there was this consensus of like, hey, you
gotta rag on the janitors. Yeah, sure, this guy was
just a little too like heavy on it, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Uh. I think the fact that it's like its former
sense is like, dude, like just some respect.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Yeah, for real, for real. But we do get a
reveal of a no one that has hypnotized the entire
school and he is wanting to preserve the youthfulness of
these individuals. Uh. He is able to hypnotize both Takahar

(08:50):
and Simuni, but the phantom thief actually saves them, and
the reveal is which I think is actually really really fun,
really really cool, is when he releases them, because he

(09:13):
is able to somehow release individuals from this hypnotized state.
When he releases Takahara and Saminu. It is revealed that
it is the Old Principle. I thought this was really
really fun and really cool. There is like a deeper

(09:39):
story that we are going to seemingly get in part two.
But when we get to sit down and actually hear
the story from this sense, from the Old principle, he
willingly gives up his extra keys to Saminu, Takahara, and

(10:02):
Kumade who shows up. I like how they finally they
finally showed it again. He turns his ring into a
blue ring. Mm hmm. He turns it into a blue ring.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
And that's what I'm very curious about.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
I thought they were gonna do it this time around.
I wonder if they're gonna do it next episode because again,
like we see everybody, we see Samino use her ring,
we see the way. Yeah, I knew you and Joe
would like that one the ring.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I got excited with astord on it.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Uh Takahara uses his Bioman ring, which a little trivia here,
fun fact. Uh Bioman was what Sabon originally wanted to
create as the Mighty Morphine Power Rangers. When that got

(11:08):
turned down, he said, hey, instead of these characters. Why
don't we use these characters? And that's when Zeo Ranger
was already out and they were able to get the
approval from from Fox at that point. Yeah. So in

(11:28):
this conversation with Kumade, Semino and Takahara, all this guy
wants is to save the children of this school, which
is admirable. Of course, he's the principal, shows how much
he loves his job, right, and then Kumbae he asks

(11:48):
the hard question, which I really really enjoyed because it
does somewhat play out at the end of this episode.
He he asks him like, hey, like, this is your wish,
this is your desire. You want to help these people.
What happens if your wish doesn't come true? He's like,

(12:12):
I don't care what I have to do, and I
don't care if I even survive, But as long as
these kids are safe, I'm okay with that. And so
come on, He's like, okay, sure, let's let's go do this.
I really like that, And I also like, how again

(12:33):
you you you said it at the beginning of our
conversation here you said, okay, youthfulness. This is all gearing
towards a Takahara story it it didn't really become that,
but there is some really fun Takahara moments like this,
this moment here he tells the principle, He's like, screw you, Like, yeah,

(12:59):
like you're doing this for a good cause, but I'm
not doing this for you. Like this no One is
literally stealing the youthfulness of these individuals trying to preserve it.
And he's right, like the fact that like these kids
quote unquote are being forced to live out this like
fantasy of youthfulness is not really letting them live out

(13:23):
their youthfulness, you know. And that's what Takahara is really
really focusing on. And so like it feels a fire
in him and he's like, I'm ready to go kick
some ass.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Basically I liked seeing that a lot. I like to
see him get fired up for that, Like that was
really cool.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
I wish we would have got more of that though, honestly.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
But I think we will because the number one Youthfulness,
which I don't think is his name. I actually want
to see what his actual thing was here. Uh, let's

(14:01):
see here if this suite actors patron No, No, youth
number one is his official name is Youth Number one,
but he has a second form or it's a completely

(14:27):
different No. One that shows up at the very end
of the episode.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
That's what I was thinking myself.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
I got the feeling that it was a completely separate individual,
but then I just thought, like, oh, what if it's
a second form. But I don't think it's that, because
I think if it was a second form, we would
have seen him transform. We didn't see this individual transform
into this being. He just showed about of nowhere, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
The person get pulled from the No. One, So we
did see that.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yeah yeah, which usually means okay, like he's about to
get you know, God. But during this fight, they are
able to uh kind of have uh Ryugi and Riku

(15:19):
and Haru. You know, they're able to get them back
to normal because of again, uh, the the principle is
able to use whatever power he has to to get
them to be normal again. But what I like is

(15:41):
when Haru joins the fight, he has both the Decca
caliber and the Orca Booster. He has both this time around.
He doesn't use the portals because I don't think he
needs to use them at this time. Because Jake I
almost had a problem with this.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Tell me more.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
When they showed Haru fighting all of the no ones,
I was like, oh, no, he is too strong. They've
made him ope because he he does the wild upgrade
or the right power up, the wild power up, and

(16:28):
he starts fighting all of these no ones and it
is it's not even a fight, dude. He is just
tearing through them, and he tears through like twenty of them,
like easily, and I'm like, oh God, they made him

(16:48):
too strong. And then they go to Kumade and Kumade
takes out just around the same number, and then I'm like, oh, okay,
so now he's just on par with Kumade. And then
I saw the rest of the goos yugers take out

(17:11):
just a little less than both Kumada and Haru together,
and so I'm like, okay, yeah, I see what they're
doing visually showing you the scale of power.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Hey guys, we're gonna go ahead and take our first
ad break. Please remember we can't control the ads or
how loud they play. So I'm gonna go ahead and
give you a three count and be right back one, two.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Three, Sorry technical difficulties. Uh So, like I was saying, uh,
they showed like a like they purposely I feel like,
showed the different power level between Haru, Kumade and all
the rest of the ghos yugers when they showed how

(17:59):
Haru and Kamade kind of were on the same level
with the same amount of no One's that they were fighting,
whereas Saminu, Takahara and Ryugi we're fighting a smaller group
of them. And then of course you had the principal
and the student principle fighting each other. Uh, and then

(18:21):
Harbu comes in with his DECA caliber and the ORCA
booster and started fighting the class president. I still like
these fights. I think that they never really get tiring
because they always add more effects to them. I feel

(18:42):
like more and more now they're having more explosions, which
I always think is kind of funny. And some of
them are tasteful. Some of them are just like really ridiculous.
Sometimes like Polar he is an ice hero, but like
he's blast seeing these no ones and they're combusting into

(19:02):
giant fireballs. Like makes no sense whatsoever, But okay, we'll
go with it, you know.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yeah, and Rangers, it always works. It just always works.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Yeah, exactly. But this is where uh, Samino has her
mego ranger uh hinchin and she uses the uh oh
what do they call it in space the board where
she spa space sperfer. Yeah. Uh she uses it once,

(19:37):
which I thought was very like iconic, uh, very classic looking. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
But then we learned that the the teacher that Haru
had in this small segment where he was like getting
into that fight you were talking about the teacher that
stopped it was actually a no one uh. And Harry
was like, you know, nobody has ever made me feel

(20:07):
like that before, but it was under the wrong circumstances,
so I'll take you out. And of course he uses
the uh the Orca booster to have his new form
on tegasword uh, which I still think is great. How
did you feel.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
About the the the the teacher basically setting up a
hologram to I guess it's so funny because it really
set the mood to like Aura farm, but like at
the same time he's trying to like teach like a
history lesson.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
He's like, oh, what setting are we in? Like what
what war is this? And Harro's just like, don't care,
I'm gonna kick your ass, and then like starts to
fight him the way that he presses the hologram and
Haru just like turns the corner in slow motion fire everywhere.
It was again ridiculous, but yet so cool. You know.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
I loved it because in the beginning of the episode,
when it kind of shows you the teaser, it showed
this scene when it showed the new mech form standing
through all this like rubble and fire, and you're like,
holy shit, what the fuck happens in this episode? And
then you find out that it's just like a cool,
like history lesson hologram, Like, Okay, this is a really

(21:26):
cool way to ror farm. Like I said, no, I
like that. It just changed the setting, but it made
it did it in a way it makes sense? You know? Yeah? Cool.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Yeah, Like it's it's not like in a very like
sadistic way of like, oh, we're going to destroy the
entire city. It's hey, this is all a hologram. But
we did see Haru use a different type of attack
with teg a sword take a sword temporarily grew like

(21:56):
a jet pack and like freaking had a dagger knife
like yeah, like a hidden blade where it like swung
out and he was able to attack him I thought
that was pretty cool. But that's seemingly the end of
the fight, because again we get to this moment with

(22:19):
the the principal, the student principal, and this new form
or sorry, not a new form, this completely different no
One that has like all of these like things that
you would see in like a school gym. He has
like the tennis racket with the tennis balls and all
the other stuff. So staying in the theme of the school,

(22:45):
but a completely different monster.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
I don't think he gave his name though. That's the
crazy thing. He just says. From now on this is
Oh I am gutsy no One. Yeah. Uh So were
you surprised that this ended on a cliffhanger to make
a two parter. I was not expecting this kind of

(23:14):
story to really need an extra episode to conclude. But
like you know, you've you've you're two and oh right now,
you uh, you've already made predictions for Rayson. You want
to make any predictions for this next episode.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
I'm like fighting at sneeze right now, give me one sex.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
I see you and mute.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
All right, we're gonna go ahead and take our second
ad break of the episode. Please remember we do not
control the ads or the volume of the ads. So
we're gonna go ahead and give you a three count
and we'll be right back three two one, all right,
thank you. I had no capacity to to get the
mute over here and go, and I was like trying
to get that out at the same time. It was

(24:05):
not working. Predictions for this next two part episode, you
know what, I almost want to say that this is
the same no One, now that we've talked a little
bit more about the episode and it's digested a little
bit more, I don't know. I don't know. I don't

(24:30):
want to make any predictions for this one because I
honestly didn't expect it. Even watching the episode up until
the last thirty seconds, I did not expect it to continue.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Like I wasn't expecting it to move on as well.
I stayed clear of the preview for the next episode.
I completely I was like, Hey, I know that this
is not like anything super big like story wise, but
because this is a two parter even more or so,

(25:01):
I'm gonna I'm gonna keep myself in the dark.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
So since we're on the topic of oh, I'm sorry,
go ahead, Jeff.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Something else, No, No, what what are you gonna say?

Speaker 2 (25:10):
I was just gonna say that because we're on the
topic of the previews for the next episode. I did
run a consensus with one of my coworkers who's also
a fan of the show, and he's been watching Sentai
for a lot longer than I have. So I asked him,
I said, you know, justin did you watch the previews?
He says, yeah, I do. I watch the previous for

(25:32):
every episode, because yes, sometimes they do give away a
little bit more than you'd like to see. But you
gotta remember this is ultimately like a children's show, so
they're trying to captivate and draw in viewership for the
next episode.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Ah, that makes sense, Okay, No, it is something that
is this is this is something that I need to remember.
This is something that we're having to watch online because
we are in the States, whereas natively in Japan. This
is something that is syndicated on television. This is something
that they are actually looking for viewership numbers when it

(26:12):
is releasing on TV. I always forget that, man. This
is like I was always in a state of where
I was always watching Sentai, like years after they had
come out. I've never watched anything current. So now that

(26:33):
we are we have to keep that in mind that, yeah,
this is a syndicated, syndicated show that is looking for viewership.
That makes a lot of sense actually trying to think
like even I guess even like you look as far

(26:54):
back as like the CW shows during the credits, like
the very first few seconds of the credits, the CW
shows would give you a small preview of what's going
to happen in the next episode. So like it's it's
a normal thing for syndicated television.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
So now he did say that sometimes they do show
more than you would like to see. He did say that,
like you know, so that's so.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
How do you how do you how do you feel
about it? What do you what do you think? You know?

Speaker 2 (27:26):
After listening to his take and are back and forth,
I actually watched the preview for this next episode, and
I think my going forward, I think I'm okay with
doing that if that's like a consensus like with a
majority of people. I mean, I'm just that's just one
person's take. But he's watched a lot more CENTI than
I have as far as I know.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
So now that you say that, I'm literally watching it
right now. I pressed like a kind of guesstimation of
when it would start, and it literally just started. So, uh,
it is called the Gutsy Police are in the Clear?
Is the next episode survived the trials of the Gutsy

(28:10):
Prison because he did say this is now a prison
when he was first introduced at the end of this episode,
which does remind me the thing that I wanted to
share with you guys. Every single costume that Argosygers had

(28:31):
on was actually of reference to prior Toku series. So
Seminu was wearing something from Turbo Ranger, Takahara was wearing
something from a show called High School Heroes, Riku was

(28:56):
wearing a similar outfit to somebody from Brothers. Haru was
wearing something similar to a character from Common Writer Feruza
or Forza sorry, and then Ryugi was actually wearing something

(29:18):
from Mega Ranger, which is the equivalent to in Space.
So let me actually scroll up just a little bit
and it actually shows you the similar So just a
small nod in costume design there, So I thought that

(29:39):
was really really cool. But yeah, looking at this preview,
now we get a returning character that we haven't seen
in quite some time. Ku own is back Garugi right, Garudo? Sorry,

(29:59):
Garudo is his is his hinsion? What do you think, man,
what do you think?

Speaker 2 (30:08):
I am very curious to see if maybe because now
here's a here's a here's a theory for you, Clay,
here's one for everybody listening. Last time we saw a No.
One transform was the number one demon. It was an
experiment played out by Garudo. If this number one has transformed,

(30:34):
it is because of three hundred, that's if. If this
is the same number one, you know who owned had
a hand to play brought him back because they did
say it was an experiment when they talked about the
number one demon. It was Tega June's experiment. So going forward,
you know, it might be something we see more of

(30:56):
that number ones who die come back as a stronger form.
And he just cut in half like it could have
let something else out of him. You know, there's there's
a lot, there's a lot to be played with in
this episode.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
So dude, at twenty three minutes and eighteen seconds of
this whole video, you're in the preview, there is one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine,
ten different Red Sintai Rangers. In the next episode, at once,

(31:39):
all at once. It's all in one frame. Now, here's
the thing, here's the thing. Okay, oh oh, this could
mean one of two things. The only time we have
seen a Sentai warrior like this, it is either when

(32:08):
Coup Owned summons them or it is a ring warrior.
The only difference and I'll have to go back, but
I'm pretty sure every single Ring warrior that has fought
has the Tega sword, gauntlet, and.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Blade, the silver one at least.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Yeah, the silver one. Yeah. I don't know if there's
ever like a sequence where they don't.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Have them on, not in this series. I don't believe,
because even the fight today between the ghosts, the two
Senti warriors that were fighting.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
He always had it on, right, he always had it on.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
If they don't, unbelieve, it would be all.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Or just theory tinfoil hat time. If it's not ku
Own's uh manifestations. What if because this is gonna be

(33:20):
episode twenty five, it may be the actual mid season finale.
What if these are the actual warriors? Oh, now, it
is a move. It is one of the most random
stories to throw the actual warriors into. But because the

(33:40):
fact that Kuo Own is being brought back into the story, like,
is there a possibility that he causes such chaos with
this gutsy no one to there need be actual heroes.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
That could can very well be it. I mean, it
is lenge like that.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
It is. It is a wild shut in the dark theory.
But just for the fact that I didn't see any
of the Tega sword gauntlets on these characters in the preview,
That's where I'm throwing it at. That's That's what I'm
gonna I'm you know, just a shot in the dark. Hey,

(34:36):
this is my random conspiracy. We'll see, We'll see how
next next episode shapes up. But with that, guys, we
are going to close it out. Uh Jake, any really
quick thoughts and and then what you're gonna be doing
over the next couple of weeks or I guess until
next week.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Really just enjoying the new Gundam TCG card game. That
game has been a lot of fun. If you haven't
checked it out, if you're a fan of Gundam, go
check it out. I know product is extremely scarce and
hard to find, so scalpers are going crazy. I was
lucky enough to get a you know, small groundwork product
to you know, get it started for myself. But it's
fun game.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Go check it out, very nice, very nice. I like money,
and so I don't want to throw it all away
on cards because I know I will. That's the problem
is that I get into a card game and I'm
just like, this is my entire personality. Now. We've done
it with comics, We've done it with so many different things,

(35:36):
and so I dude, when Gundam was announced as far
as a card game, as soon as I saw that commercial,
I was like, that card stock looks so good. Even
from the commercial. Dude, I was like, oh my god,
those cards probably look so good in person. But yeah,

(35:57):
I might. I might collect like casually and just collect.
I don't know if I'm gonna go as far as play,
because then I know I have to get into the meta.
I have to know which cards be what. It's gonna
go super bonkers. So I don't know if I can
go neck deep into that stuff again. But guys, I

(36:23):
am of course over at Star Wars Alliance as well.
Katie and I are actually going to be reviewing a
Acolyte novel that just came out called Acolyte Crystal Crown.
It is a book that is mainly focused on Padawan

(36:48):
jack Jackie and Yord. So I've read about seven chapters
in so far. I'm going to uh finish another like
eight or ten chapters today, but we will be finished
with the book by the time that we have to
record on Wednesday of this week, So you guys who

(37:11):
are on the podcast side of things just listening, you
will get to hear that on Thursday. But with it, guys,
thank you so much for being here. We really enjoy it.
And if next week is the mid season finale, I
am pumped for it. But with it, guys, thank you
so much, and remember, may the power protect you.
