Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of a walk
through the master Works. I'm your host, Joe, and this
show is part of the geek Ultimate Lines network, with
six shows in total. You can find them down in
these show notes below. We've got a Patreon with two tiers,
a dollar tiers and next little thank you you appreciate
what we're doing and you just like to give back somehow.
But we also have five dollar tier, which we give

(00:20):
you add free content, early access content and Patreon exclusive
content ad free because this show will have ads and
there will be a sound bite when those ads happen.
As for the Patroon exclusive. I've been doing my Multiverse
minutes Disney Dives, where I am going through all of
the Disney animated feature films and animated adjacent films from

(00:44):
beginning and working my way through all the way to
the most recent, most current ones. And I'm just I'm
talking about the movies. I am talking about a lot
behind scenes stuff. I'm giving my thoughts on them, enjoying them.
Some of them I've seen for the first time, some
i'm seeing for the umpteenth time. I'm getting close to

(01:06):
the Renaissance era, so you know, the Lori, Mermaid, Lion King, Aladdin,
Beauty Beast, that that era of movies. So I'm really
really excited for that, but not there yet. That's actually
gonna be coming up fairly soon. I think next month actually,
so September I'll be hitting that. But either way, those

(01:28):
are that's overrun Patreon for me, but also myself and
Travis for DC Lions. I've been doing our DC films
through the years. We're up to Red over there, and
then Chris and David over at Marvel Lions are doing
their Baxter Broadcast where they're covering the Fantastic Four films,

(01:49):
the four of them, starting with the unreleased Roger Corman
one in ninety four, working their way through to the
twenty fifteen one that was not the greatest. But they're
trying to do that with the Patreon work, you know,
just because you obviously Fantastic Four. It just came out recently,

(02:10):
I believe the I think the Rise of Silver Surfer
just came out. I could be wrong. Either just came
out or it was coming out. I can't remember which,
but it's it's there. So but we also have a
bunch of great back content on the Patreon so if

(02:30):
you if you want to check that out, we will.
We were appreciate it, but you are unable to, we
totally understand. Go ahead and give us a rating review,
and that will help other people, other listeners find the show,
and we greatly appreciate that. So on to this episode

(02:51):
where I am talking about Resi Alien season four, episode nine,
the pen ultimate episode of the series. That is correct
series because it was announced at San Diego Comic conn
over the weekend that the well last week, I should

(03:12):
say that the show is officially done four seasons. They
are USA has canceled the show. I think I talked
about that last week, but USA has canceled the show.
Which is also funny because I've been saying it for

(03:34):
the last few weeks that the show has been it's
been acting like like they have been portraying like they
are coming torre close. Like the way that the storylines
have been weaving, it just felt like they were ending.

(03:56):
That's not to say that you can't leave it open
ended at the end end, and it's not to say
that next week's episode the series, which could have been
season but serious finale, won't have an an open ending.
But I feel like they were definitely looking toward the

(04:19):
end with this because and then even then, like when
this episode ended, it said series finale on it. You know,
I feel like if the show was if it was
a announced that it was ending like out of the blue,
they would have said the season finale at the end
and not series like they wont because this these things

(04:41):
are already filmed and slated and promos are already cut,
Like I feel like they already knew this was coming
and it was just a it was just announced at
Comic Con like that it was ended. So either way,
the show, the show's coming to your end. Yes, that sucks,

(05:01):
but four seasons, man, that is a great run, especially nowadays.
Obviously back in the day you can get four seasons,
and back in the day four seasons that was twenty
two episodes. That's cable seasons even at that, and that
was good. That was a great, great run. But that

(05:22):
was also four seasons of you know, how many episodes
were filler and how many episodes actually moved the plot along.
Now with the streaming services and now with just services
cable and shows in general, you have it to where
they have made the shows ten to thirteen episodes long

(05:48):
or in some cases I should say six you know,
in case of like Marble, especially with a Disney Plus,
they make them six episodes long, but like they they
have a tighter story. I've talked about this, I think
on other podcasts or maybe even on other shows on here,
where you can have a better story WinCE it's shorter episodes.

(06:13):
And this is no exception. Yeah, there have been a
couple of times where I'm like, and they didn't really
need this, But at the time though, like that is
one of those things where that episode, those story plots
weren't needed. It comes, you know, it comes around, you know,
so when you have a limited amount of episodes, it

(06:36):
you have to move the story along. And ten episodes
a season, you can definitely tell the story you need
to tell. The only issue you I do think you
have is when you run into something like Stranger Things,
where you only have that show has been on for

(06:58):
nine years. Now, you've got five seasons nine years. The
kids that were on the show have gone from I
mean they were what like fifteen to sixteen when they
started looking like they were ten or eleven. Now they're
in there, you know, late twenties and early thirties trying

(07:19):
to pretend like they're fifteen. Like it's doesn't work out
so well for that. But here we are. I know,
I'm just rambling, and that's my own fault. Here we
are with the resident alien. Yeah, this this I it is.
It is gonna be sad to see this go this.

(07:40):
This show has been pretty consistent with its h with
his episodes like it's it's been a breath of fresh
air on the comedy aspect, It's been. It's got is
that the action. Each week has had, the comedy, each
week has had the drama, Like this episode in particular,
had a lot of drama elements. And I'm not gonna lie.

(08:04):
There was a moment here where it made me cry.
There was a really beautiful moment in this episode that
just it got me. You know, I'm at work watching
this episode and I'm tearing up. And then when I
was rewatching the episode of going through it, getting notes
like not tear it up again, So it's like fuck

(08:28):
either way, it's a great episode. If you haven't watched it,
obviously go check it out about ready to drop spoilers here.
If you again haven't watched it, it is over on
it will be out on Peacock this coming Friday. It

(08:49):
aired on USA and Sci Fi this past Friday, so
just be prepared. Spoilers are ahead. So we start out
and it has a cold open, and it's a it's
a really quick cold open. It is one hundred and

(09:10):
thirty eight years ago. It is showing the fifty nine
miners going back to save the one miner that was
caught in the minds Jed Calhoun. I believe that his
name was, and it's just it's really just a quick scene.

(09:31):
It's him being stuck and his it's him saying to
Biddy Henderson. I think she was leading the charge with
the other fifty eight miners, saying that we're we all
came back to to come get you. And if I
remember correctly, I think in like season two when they

(09:52):
when I think Darcy was telling the story, and I
would have to go back and watch, and I honestly
I don't remember, but I think in season two they
do a they do an episode of this. They they
do a flashback of this where like the miners come
out and they do like a head count's like, oh
there's one missing. We all go back like somebody goes

(10:12):
back and like they all go back, and so like
this is just kind of a continuation of that, and
it is. It's just a quick, quick little thing. And
Jed's like, fifty nine miners, is that's too many? Just
come back for one. And then he's like, there's too
many miners. It's gonna have a caved and then a
caven collapses and basically kills all the miners and he
is left and ultimately he's gonna die of starvation because

(10:37):
you know, there's nobody there to save him. So there
we are. But then we get into present day and
it's Harry and Mike going through the tunnels searching for
the Mantid and it is them basically bickering at each other. Obviously,
Mike is still coming to the terms that Harry is

(10:58):
an alien, and Harry is doing everything he can to
try and encourage Mike to leave. He's like, hey, I'm
a alien. I can take on this other alien, like
I I got this, and Mike's like no, no, no,

(11:18):
like how many how many aliens have you? How many
Mantons have you killed? And Harry's just like, well, I
guess I've killed about the same amount as you. So
all right, fine, maybe we can work together. And as
Mike is trying to figure out which tunnel will go down,
Harry just like bolts down one of the tunnel. He

(11:39):
just sneaks off and leaves Mike by himself. We get
back outside where we have Sahar bringing Asta up to Max.
He's still waiting down the path from the entrance of
the mine, and he tells asked that he saw live

(12:02):
Deputy uh. I can't remember the last name, but Deputy Baker.
There we go walking in, but she was the mantic
and so Asta grabs one of the manticides from from
Max and it's like, all right, you two, you stay here,
I'm gonna go in the back entrance. There's a there's

(12:24):
like a side entrance that I used when we were
partying back in school days, and I'm gonna go and
help Harry. And they both kind of look at each
other and she's like, uh, forget I said that don't
do drugs, and like runs off, and then Max is
like kind of looks at Sahar and grabs the other
canister and he tells her that like, I'm I'm going in.

(12:49):
I have to help Harry. He is adamant about helping Harry,
and he has every right to. He's the only one
in town who can see aliens and the fact that
the Manxi can shape shift, he is the one. He's
gonna be the one that Harry needs right now. Sahar's like, no,

(13:10):
you can't do that, like that's that's dangerous as stupid,
and Max is like, I don't care. I need to
help him. I I am. I think it's one of
those things where he feels like he he needs to,
like he needs to help obviously, but he feels people
keep like pushing him aside and just like ignoring him.

(13:30):
So now he's like he's trying to I don't want
to say, prove something, but he's just like, I need to.
I need to do this, I need to help. So
he rushes off into the cave in you know, in
the entrance that that Harry and Mike went in that
the Mantid followed, and so that's where he has often to.

(13:52):
We get into the festival where Ben is doing his
mayoral mayoral duties and he's having a whatever festival festivities
is happening, and Kate comes running up to him and
it's like, hey, have you seen Max and He's like, no,
I thought he was with you, and she she was like, no,

(14:15):
he bolted when I got to the gas station. And
that's when Sahara comes up and tells them that Max
ran into the mines after the Mantid to help out Harry.
So that both Mac or both Ben and Kate you know,
kind of look at each other give himselves the looks,

(14:35):
and it's like, all right, well we get we got
to go. So we then get back into the tunnel
where Max is. He actually does catch up with Harry
and he does warn Harry about Live. He tells her
that he tells him that Live is the Mantid and

(14:56):
that she is you know she He's coming, and so
Harry's like, okay, thank you for giving me submission. You
need to get out of here. Because in Max is like,
well why I want to help. He's like, look, you
did your part, and you were very brave in doing that,
but I don't want you to get hurt. Especially if

(15:18):
you do get hurt, your dad's gonna keep winding about it,
so I, you know, I don't want you to die.
And then they actually hear Ben and Kate c like
yelling for Max, and he's like, see there they are
right now, Like you need to go to them. You
need to get out of here. I appreciate you telling
me that Live that the deputy is a mantid or

(15:41):
is the mantid, but you need to go. And so
Max runs off and Harry continues on. Sure enough, around
one of the corner, Live comes around and she's like, hey,
she is acting like Live and says like, like the
mansion is down here and we need to you know,

(16:02):
do all this. And Harry, in true Harry fashion, he's like, boo,
that is that is terrible acting. You are totally bad
at this. And the Mantids like, all right, good, I
don't have to act anymore like she is terrible at uh.
I don't have to pretend like I'm sick of not

(16:23):
ever seeing an alien. And so as Harry is trying
to get the manta side off like ready to spray Live,
she grabs it out of his hand like toss it aside,
and then they like start to tussle. But right at
that moment, Mike shows up and points a gun on
the two of them, and of course you have your

(16:45):
standoff of like Harry's telling her, telling Mike that that
he is the that she is the mantaid and Live
is like, no, he's the mantid. And it's just back
and forth, and obviously Mike's just like, what you know,
this is dumb, This is stupid, and Live is Live
makes a con of like, you know you can trust

(17:06):
you can trust me, Mike like this is you know,
he's been weird ever since you you never trust him
since he's he first came to town. He had this
really weird, weird walk and apparently really upset Harry, which
is really funny. But obviously it's going back and forth,
back and forth, and then Mike pulls the trigger. We

(17:36):
do get a quick scene here with with Darcy and
and the baby. It's really nothing about it. They just
want to bring it up because it's just a fun
little scene. And then we come back to everybody in
the in the cave, uh, we get this. We get
Ben and Kate, they hear the gunshot and they are
they jump, and then we get asked in a different

(17:59):
part of the case, here's the gunshot. She jumps, and
then we get back to Mike and he had pulled
the trigger and shot Lift and then he like rushes
Mike or rushes Harry back to his side, and he's like, yeah,
I I knew you were the Mantid because even like

(18:26):
my deputy has the respect for the chain of command,
and you called me Mike, she would call me sir.
And so he the manta is like, well, that's fun.
So and then like he demands to know where she
where where Live is, and she's like, well, look you can.

(18:46):
You'll just have to a little bit of a We've
got a little bit of a Shrowdinger situation here, and
you just have to figure it out. And he pumps
a few more rounds in the into the Mantid, eventually
a shooting, you know, scurring it off, and then Mike
is just like, what the heck does that mean? Sure,
they're gonna like the guy from Peanuts, and I mean

(19:09):
I had to chuckle at that. But Harry is like, no,
he means the the one philosophical situation where Live is
both alive and dead at the same time until we
actually find her. And of course Mike is like, well,
I'm gonna say she's alive, because of course I'm not

(19:29):
gonna say she's dead. That's just stupid. So they go
off and they're gonna keep following the Manton. So we
get to Ben and Kate, and obviously they are. They
have a fun little argument here about Kate paying fifty
cents extra for gas to use the full service and

(19:52):
not pumping the gas herself. That's just Ben being I
don't want to say Ben, but that's just Ben being
whatever with money, not frugal, stingy there, stingy with money.
But as they are, they're they're arguing about that. Max

(20:13):
comes running up and he is like they're happy to
see him, and they're like all right, cool, thanks, like
we're happy we found you. Now we gotta get out
of here, and Max is like, no, I'm not leaving.
I am going to help Harry no matter what he is,
he's he's helped me out, he saved me from his dad.

(20:35):
I'm the only one that can that can help him.
I'm the only one that can see aliens like this
is what I'm good for, this is what I'm like,
this is what I'm here for. And of course his
parents are like no, like you can't do this, like
we're we refuse to let you do this, and he's like, well,
you can't stop me. I'm gonna do it, and they're like, well,

(20:55):
we'll ground you. It's like, I don't care, like the
government will like hey me, like because they like they
say they'll take his allowance away, like the government will
pay me, will take your bike away, the government will
give me your a free ride, like they'll they'll drive
me places like Okay, I guess we can't really do

(21:15):
any of that anymore. And it's like he basically has
to plead with them that I'm going to help him.
I have to help him, and eventually they relent, but
they're like, all right, well we're gonna We're gonna come
with you. And then Kate Ben sees a giant spider
on the wall and Kate who took Max's taser away

(21:39):
from him, the alien tracker taser away from him last episode,
uh grat like used it on the spider. And she's like,
all right, cool, I'm keeping this. So yeah. Elsewhere in
the in the tunnels, we have Asta, who is trying
to find your way through and she starts hearing voices.

(22:02):
She hears her dad Dan, her father Dan, she hears
Darcy and they are talking to her. I mean, it
is the mantid trying to mess with the mind, because
both her dad and Darcy are basically they're trying to
lure her around, and then they bit eventually start talking
about her being a failure and being like terrible, And

(22:23):
at one point when she gets into an opening, she
looks up and there is manted live on the ceiling
and she is looking all fearsome. And I have to say,
the actress who's playing Live, Elizabeth Bowen, I believe her
name is. I almost guarantee she had a heyday in

(22:46):
that scene, because she looked like she was having fun.
So she had like the alien teeth and alien eyes,
but it was still her so it was really cool.
But no, she was looking all like menacingly and terrified,
like looking down and like being giving like an alien growl,
And of course asked, is gonna scream, which alerts Harry

(23:09):
and Mike and they come running into an opening and
then out one way comes Asta and she's like, oh,
thank god, like I found you guys live is the
Mantid and like, yes, we know. And then from another opening,
another way, from literally to the other side, it comes
Asta another Asta and says the exact same thing that

(23:32):
lives the Mantid, and it's the classic, all right, which
one is the right? Which one is the real Asta?
And then before it gets goes on for too long,
Max comes running in and he's like, that one's that
one was the Mantid and then asked to the real

(23:53):
Asta fires some of the manta side at it. Mike
unloads a couple of rounds into it, and the Mantid
goes running off. Now with Mike firing the gun though
it did yeah, because they are so far underneath the

(24:15):
in the mines and in the tunnels, it has now
jostled some debris loose, and a lot of the a
lot of the rocks, some of the rocks have been
falling down. So Harry is just like, hey, we you
probably shouldn't be firing that shotgun anymore. Uh, And they
go through one of the one of the openings and

(24:40):
they actually come across Jet Calhoun or whatever he says,
his name was the the one lost Minor. And at
that moment, though, that is when the Mantid in full
alien form, grabs Harry and rips him back into the tunnel,

(25:02):
into like the dark part of tunnel. And then we
get Harry coming out in his alien form, and we
get a full on Alien fight. This is a pretty
awesome fight. And at one point Mike is like, I
can't see really like it because it was a dark
part of the tunnel, Like he can't really get a

(25:24):
good bead on the manted. Ben tries to turn his
light on, his flashlight on his phone on, but in
I guess turns of strobe light on or maybe I
think he's hitting like his pictures. I'm not sure, probably
pictures if I'm being honest, because it did sound like
it was clicking, and the way the episode shown it,

(25:48):
it looked like he was taking pictures of the manted
and Harry fighting, so like it was. It was it
looked like Harry had like thrown a punch hitting the
mantid uh and then like the mantid decking or like
coming up and getting Harry and together kind of thing.
So it looked it was basically like a strobe light thing,

(26:10):
strobe light fighting. It was a cool scene. But then
going back and forth and it is it's a pretty
like you could definitely tell like this is where a
good amount of their budget went, because this is all
this is all CGI, which is not bad. It was
a really awesome fight. At one point, the mantid tries

(26:32):
to get away and Harry goes to like go after him. Uh,
and the mantid itself like gets to the group and
asks to like tries to spray it, but the mantid
grabs asked to buy her arm and like wings her around,
throws her around, and she gets knocked out for a

(26:53):
quick second, and of course Harry sees us as like,
you mess with my friend. No, you you're going down,
and sure enough he doubles it at his efforts, gets
on top of the mantid and goes just full hog

(27:13):
on it. At one point, the manton is on top
of Harry and looks like he has the upper hand,
but Harry grabs the pick axe from that lost minor
and sinks it into the Mantad's head, which inevitably is
what basically does it. Then Mantid goes falling down off

(27:37):
off of Harry, and Kate then comes up and like
uses the the taser and chocks it some more, and
then the mantid. Harry takes the pick axe out of
the Manta's head and transforms back into live and Mike's

(27:58):
just like, why did you trans from back into her?
My deputy, why did you do that? And the mantid
and it's whatever whatever brain is like so you can
see what your deputy is gonna look like when she dies.
And it's basically basically a threat, another veiled threat of like, well,

(28:19):
she is still alive, but she is not doing good.
Apparently she's somewhere and we actually do see where she
is tied up and at the exact moment she actually
wakes up, and just behind her is a the manted

(28:43):
egg sack filled with well manted eggs and looks like
they're getting ready to hatch. Yeah. Not good. So, now
that the fighting's done and everybody is starting to wind down,

(29:06):
asked to takes Kate to the clinic. And because Kate
twisted her ankle, so Asta is gonna get some like
she she takes a look at it, you know, sees
that it is twisted. She gets an ice pack on
it and is looking around to try and find some
some wrap or gauze to wrap it up in. She
goes into another room and once she finds something some

(29:30):
of that, she turns around to go and go back
to Kate, but she starts itching her arm and when
she pulls up her sleeve. She notices where the mantit
had grabbed her that there is a like a scar there,

(29:50):
and there's also some like black veins going up her
arm what looks like black poison maybe going into her arm,
and it's not looking great. And then over at the

(30:14):
police office, sheriff's office, mayor's office, I don't know, Mike
is talking to Live's husband John, basically telling him what's
going on, asking him if anything about Live. He's actually
gonna be on his way to the office because so
he can figure out what's going on. Harry comes in

(30:37):
and trying to figure out what's what is going on,
and Harry is his news isn't great. He's basically telling
Mike is like, so good news. Bad news is that
we can find We need to find Live, and we
need to find the eggsac and we'll find one and

(30:58):
the same because if the mantid was dying, because that's
what he was saying when when we killed it, it
was at the end of its cycle. His mission was
done because it had already had had its eggs hatched
or not the eggs have it hatched, but the eggsack
was there, so it's getting ready to hatch but it

(31:21):
has suggesting for two weeks. So we have the eggs
are in your deputy. We have to get out, so
we have some time, you know. It's so it's fine.
So once we find live, we'll find the eggsack and
it's okay. But as soon as that's like once they
figured that out in walks Lena and she is so

(31:46):
like in shock because of everything that obviously happened to
her with jewels, and she's just like, she apologizes to
Mic because now she is one on board with aliens
because of what she saw at Jules place, and she's like, okay,

(32:07):
we have to kill all these aliens. And this is
where Harry's just like, hey, hold on there, sister, like
stop that. And then Mike's like, yeah, he's one of them.
So obviously at this point he doesn't care who knows
he's an alien or not, which I understand the show's ending,
but like you spent four seasons hiding it, well, three

(32:31):
seasons hiding it for the most part. Now all of
a sudden you're just willy nilly with who finds out.
I'm a little a little iffy about that one. That's
really my only honestly, that is my only gripe with
this episode, this episode in particular, because the rest of
the season Mike can live finding out that he's an alien,

(32:52):
the progression made sense. Kate and Ben finding out he's
an alien, that progression made sense. Lena finding out he's
an alien um literally was dropped in her lap. So
that just I don't know that one. That one just

(33:12):
didn't feel right, that one didn't feel earned. But it
is also again where it's this penn ultimate episode of
the series. I'll give you a pass, just this once.
Don't give me a pass. But anyway, Jules and I'm sorry.
Lena explains that Jules had a hole in her abdomen,

(33:34):
and this catches Harry's attention because he's like, okay, so,
good news is that Live is not the host for
the the Mantit babies. Bad news is is that they
could hatch any moment now, So we definitely need to
find where Live is, and we need to find them

(33:58):
like now, like right right now. And speaking of we
actually do get back to Live and she is looking
around where she's at and it is at her storage
units she last So what ends up happening is she's

(34:18):
looking around, she sees Robert there and she ends up
waking him up by screaming at him, and she's like, well,
how did we get hear? What's what's going on? Like
I thought we were going through your storage unit and
she's like, yeah, we were. Last I remember is manted
jewels following us, coming at us at the storage unit

(34:40):
and then waking up here bound to these chairs. And
now we've got manted babies right behind us. What the
heck's going on? And he basically explains that these mantid's
manted kid eggs. Once they hatch, they eat their mother

(35:02):
for sustenance, but since the mother is not here, they're
gonna eat us. So though we this is not good
and obviously you know it's gonna be hatching soon. And
when we get back to the Sheriff's office, and that's

(35:24):
when John shows up and they figure out that that
live was gonna take Robert to the storage unit, and
you know that's that's where they're gonna be heading. Yeah,
that's I mean, that's that's literally where they're heaving. So

(35:50):
at the at the clinic, Kate is, you know, still
waiting on after the comeback, but it's been a while,
so she wanders off to try and find her, and
you know, ends up finding her at the on the

(36:10):
ground and is like, okay, what the hell. So she quickly,
you know, she calls Ben and Darcy and they go
over there to help her. They get her obviously propped
up or get her onto one of the beds, sees
the arm and sees the black liquid flowing in her arm.

(36:33):
Darcy said she tried calling Harry multiple times, but he's
not answering. There's also a moment where they are both
calling about or talking about all the things that happened
down in the tunnels, finding the lost minor, finding the
fight between the Manton and Harry and all this, and
Darcy definitely felt left out because at one moment where

(36:54):
she's like, well, we sang wheels in the bus talking
about her and Bella and it's like, oh, whoops, okay, fine,
but like, okay, speaking of Harry, so him, Mike, Lena
and John are at storage unit and they open up
that storage unit that they own, thinking that live or

(37:17):
live in Robert or they're tied up. They're not, but
they are in the right place because Lena finds the
the owner or one of the employees with their head gone.
So then they start searching around. Lena and John end
up going another way. Harry and Mike split off a

(37:40):
different way, and it gets to a point where John Nope,
Harry and Mike are like talking about how like Harry
Bick's kind of like how he is because at this
point he had already taken the manted body. He had

(38:00):
shoved it through a tunnel back to the council, the
Alien housing Council, to you know, appease them. And he's like,
you know, if the housing council finds out that that
the Manted babies are loose, I'm gonna be in deep trouble.
They're gonna send me to the acid pits. And we

(38:21):
do see a side here with Mike of like like
I don't care about you going to some acid pit,
like my my partner, my deputy is in trouble, like
we need to go find here, and Harry quickly tries
to cover his asses, like we did, let me finish,
he repeats himself, but we need to find and then
he finishes by saying, we also need to find your deputy,

(38:43):
being a funny thing kind of thing. But they continue
on and they get to another split in the the
storage unit, and Mike suggests us it suggests split the
up again, and before here can even say anything, he
looks off one direction and he sees a spirit form,

(39:07):
an astral projection almost of Asta, and he's like, he
says Asta, and he's like, okay, like this way, we
gotta go this way, and Mike's just like, wait, hold on,
we talked about He's like, Askeda is dying. I gotta

(39:28):
go to her, and so he he he starts heading
that way, and Mike's like, no, look like I need
you here, like if we're gonna face off against a
bunch of manted babies, like you are the strongest being
in town right now, and like you you're the best
option I have saving the deputy. So I need you.

(39:52):
And as he is trying to make his case, Harry
sees asked to spirit form again and she even encourages
Harry to go and save live and so Harry is like, okay,
I'll do it for you, and Mike thinks he's talking
to him, and Harry even says I'm not. I'm not

(40:12):
talking about you, and he rushes off and sure enough,
right at that moment, well, okay, actually not that moment,
but we're gonna get there. At that moment across town,
how about that Darcy is sitting with Asta and she
opens up basically talking about how Asta is always, you know,

(40:38):
she's always helping everybody out, but she's never never been
in a position to need help. The one time she was,
she kind of rejected it. She didn't want want help
from anybody's but now she's in a position where she
needs it and she basically just asked to help herself

(41:03):
and m it. It's a moment where where Darcy is
just kind of you know, take taken aback with everything.
She would normally a situation like this, have a have
a some something to drink, she would go and find
the bottle of of of a bottom of a bottle

(41:25):
to take away her problems. But she's sober now and
she makes a comment about how, you know, she really
wants to get that thirty day chip because the chip
is like the perfect size to fix the the coffee
table from wobbling. It would go on the one of

(41:45):
the legs and it would stop it from wobbling. As
she realizes that she uses humor to avoid some like
hard feelings, so that's like she's basically basically uses dark
humor something that like I do when I I deal
with problems, I turned to dark humor. That's what she's

(42:08):
doing right now. Instead of actually dealing with the problem,
she just deals goes to to dark humor to handle it.
So but the big thing is here though. It's like,
as she is telling Darcy or telling Asta to basically
take care of herself and make sure that she is okay,
she looks up in the mirror and sees the spirit

(42:31):
form of Asta looking on and like she turns around,
doesn't see her, and turns back in the mirror and
doesn't see her, and she's like, what the hell's going
on here? Like this is she's kind of weirded out
and wigging out, and it's again, is another beautiful scene.
So this is what I was saying before. And I

(42:53):
got a little early. As Live and Robert are are
they're in the the boiler room of the storage unit.
Live is like shuffling away from the eggsact and Robert
catches this and she's like, yeah, I'm I'm sorry, Like

(43:14):
I'm panicking. I'm panicking. It's like ry, aren't you. It's like, well,
I'm just I'm being chilling. As soon as one of
the the mitted baby legs pops out, they both just
start screaming and freaking out, which is good because it
gives Mike and Harry the location of where they're at,

(43:34):
and so Harry busts down the doors and they both
come in. Mike is ready to shoot the Eggsact, but
but Harry's like, no, don't shoot that, it'll spread them everywhere.
And so the few that have like hatch and come out,
they start he starts stopping on them, but there's there's
too many escaping and they're kind of scurrying about too quickly.

(43:59):
They're trying to fiure out what dude, and they can't.
Like they there's just nothing they could do. And but
before they get it gets too far, in comes Pi
back and he has attached a flamethrower to his body,
and he burns everything away, burns the Eggsact, burns all
of the manted babies that are on the ground, and

(44:23):
flanking him are a couple of government agents. And then
it's basically like, I mean, everything is great, Like if
they were able to stop stop everything, it's great, like
yay yay. They literally literally stopped the manton from taking
over the earth. And this is also a good thing

(44:48):
because now that that problem is taken care of, Harry
quickly leaves here and bolts to the clinic because the
only thing that he can think of to save Asta
is to give her some of his blood, transfuse blood

(45:08):
from him into her body to counteract whatever poison the
Mantit gave her. And his reasoning is is that, you know,
Joseph was able to survive when the when the Mantid attacked,
you know, attacked him because he was half alien. Now,
it took him a while to come back, but he

(45:29):
was able to come out of it. And Harry is
immune obviously, so he's thinking that his blood will take
care eradicate the affection. I mean see that. The other
possibility is that it could kill her, but that is
a risk. I mean, she's dying either way, so the

(45:52):
chances of her surviving with the blood transfusion transfusion are
better than her just dying for the poison. So it's
the rest that he is going to take. So once
the transfusion is done, and this is a scene that

(46:16):
got me, if I'm being honest, we uh yeah, see
if I can get there without crying. So pick behind
the curtain here, try to record this A couple of times,
couldn't do it. Uh, So just decided to record the scene.
And I'm just gonplay the scene so you all get

(46:37):
to cry with me, have fun with that. And here
we go.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
It's saying Austin's hands now, yeah, and I'm worried, sure, and.

Speaker 3 (46:52):
I'm wandering to go.

Speaker 2 (46:56):
I just triding to take area more than once if
got her hurt.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
But here we are, and.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
My people know that we only walk here on mother
Earth for so long. It's a gift, not a guarantee.
When my father was dying, he was so calm. I
figured it was because of the morphy. But he took

(47:26):
my hand and he said, I'm just waiting here for
my horse to come and pick me up, and then
I'm going to leave.

Speaker 1 (47:40):
I'm ready to go.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
I am ready. I can wish for us to stay here.
She has a lot more to do here, I think.

Speaker 3 (48:03):
But it's the person who's on the edge of life
who gets to decide, Oh, it will go, she will live.

Speaker 2 (48:29):
You're a good man.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
So yeah, great scene. I first time I watched it.
Like I said, I bowled my eyes out, well and
bowed my eyes and I cried. But it's just great scene,
powerful scene. So from here, uh, we go and meet
up with Ben and Kate in the different room of
the clinic. They're talking about Max and how he really

(49:06):
was helpful, you know, he saved their lives in down
in the in the minds saved everybody really and how
he actually is and he may not be book report smart,
but he you know, he's good everywhere else. He's good
with this alien stuff. So that's you know, they they

(49:30):
have to their parenting techniques have to change. They've got
to trust their kid more. And Kate even is even
talking about how you know, she using that the alien taser,
the tracker and taser was exhilarating for her and she
doesn't want to be afraid anymore. And obviously that that

(49:52):
has been something that for her that has been growing.
You know, she took she was doing like the self defense,
but that was to mask everything from the Grays, and
then the Grays took her over and then it just
it was back and forth with her. So she she

(50:14):
was feeling like she was dominating only to be taking
back over and realized that she had no control, and
so now she's she's trying to take back, you know,
trying to not be afraid anymore, and that's what she wants,
you know. At the end of the day, speaking of
end of the day, Asta does wake up and she's

(50:39):
starting to feel better. So obviously, like Harry had said
in that little clip, she is alive. His blood is
had saved her, saved from the poison. And this was
a moment for Harry to ask everybody about what Mike

(51:00):
had said about him having a really weird walk, and
everybody agreed, and so he quickly like shoot everybody out
of the clinics that she can get some rest. But
then Darcy kind of hung back and was trying to
talk to Asta, but Askeda like stopped her, and she
was like, I heard everything. I heard everything he said.

(51:21):
I was here, I saw it all. And she talked
about how she was. She saw the past, she saw
the present, she saw everything like she was everywhere, and
it was a very interesting experience for her, and it
was it was a moment of clarity, and it was

(51:43):
also something that Darcy like it, something Darcy needed to
say to her and something that she needed to go
off her chest for Asta, and Asta was there for
her friend, you know, So it was it was another
beautiful scene. Really this episode. I mean, it was definitely

(52:04):
an episode of like everybody coming together and like, if
you want to say this was the final episode and
everybody's saying the goodbyes, this was a great episode for that.
But we go back to Mike and Live with Lena
and they are talking with Peter and Robert and they're
they're basically saying they're goodbyes. But Peter is saying, how

(52:28):
you know he was gonna go to Vegas to go
look for Robert, and he's like, this is gonna be
impossible to try and find him. So he figured that
if he turned his tracker back on that the government
people could come get pick him up because chances are
they were actually tracking Robert, whom Robert last week had

(52:53):
said he thought people were following him. I thought it
was Peter. It turns out it was the government people
following Robert. So Peter got picked up by the government people.
They gave him some enhancements, hence the flamethrower, and so
now he is going to help out the government from

(53:14):
time to time, and Robert's gonna be right there by
his side. These two are not gonna be a part
of anymore. And that is something that Peter wants and
something Robert wants, and it's gonna be their lives. Live
is excited for that. Live is happy for that. Live
is she's she's grateful, really, And then as they walk away,

(53:38):
Mike is talking to her about how like, hey, you
know what, you aren't you really excited that you finally
got to see an alien, you know, front and center,
and Live is just like excited. Seriously, aliens just tried
to kill me. I do not want to hear that
word ever again. And man, my heart went out to
Live because seriously, this entire season series, she has been

(54:02):
the one championing, champion ning that aliens are real and
aliens are like around and now she hates aliens like
that sucks. But speaking of aliens, Harry and Asta are
at the diner. They're they're eating Apparently now that Asda

(54:24):
has some of Harry's alien blood, she has gotten appetite,
and so they are just chowing down on some meals,
and Asda is just kind of thinking, like, you know,
now that while I was in close to death, I

(54:44):
was wherever I was at flying around in whatever spirit
form I had, I was able to see things and
be places, and I want I want that, like I
don't want to be basically tethered down here anymore. And

(55:07):
so I think I'm gonna leave patients, and Harry is like,
I think you should, and I think my time here
is over as well, like I want to go. I
want to go be with Heather, like I don't need
to be on this plant anymore, Like my time here
is done. So like the two of them are going

(55:27):
to be leaving, leaving the town, leaving patients, and so
it's it's a very very touching moment with two of them.
And as we end the episode, we zoom in on
Asta's house as she's sleeping, and all of a sudden
she her eyes burst open and she says that they're here.

(55:51):
So I will say that the final episode, the preview
for that, there is another one of Harry's race coming
to potentially annihilate the planet. Not I'm really sure, but yeah,
so it's looking forward to see what happened there. This

(56:13):
I've said before, it's a great show. If you haven't
checked this show out and you've been listening to my
coverage of it. Do yourself favor, go check it out.
It is a wonderful show. I know the first three
seasons around Netflix. I believe all of them are on
Peacock right now as well, and obviously the new seasons

(56:37):
of Peacock, so you can literally watch all four seasons there.
But yeah, that is everything I got for this one.
So next week will be our serious finale for this
I am kind of sad about that though, great show.

(56:57):
Really sad to see it go, but I am happy
that I got four seasons. I'm happy for what what
we had, the time we had with it. Alan Tuik
was a blessing for this one, and funny enough, I
think I remember reading Alan Tudok wasn't the first choice.
I think, actually, uh, what's his what's his name? Not

(57:18):
Corey Walker? Is that his name? The actor who plays Mike,
Corey Reynolds. I think Corey Reynolds was the first, not
first choice, but I think he had gone out for
the part of of Harry, and I could be wrong
on that. I'm actually probably wrong on that, but I

(57:39):
don't think Alan Tudok was the first choice for Harry.
But either way, great show, Love the show. Yeah, so
thank you for listening and we will catch you next time.
