there will be a SoundBite when those ads happen. As
for my Patreon exclusive stuff, I've been doing my Multiverse
minutes Disney Dives, where I've been going through all of
the Disney animated and animated adjacent films currently all my
(00:42):
stretch of animated stuff right now, I don't think I'm
gonna have to animated adjacent for a while, so I
can probably drop that for right now. Anyway, right now,
I am up to a little Mermaid. You know, I've
just hit the renaissance of the Disney era, and I'm
(01:02):
looking forward to these movies. Are these are my childhood movies.
These are the ones that everybody knows and loves, and
these are also ones that I haven't seen in quite
some time, so those are gonna be fun to cover.
But yeah, for those I watched the movie, I talk
(01:23):
about the movie, I give my thoughts on that, and
I also talk about a lot of the behind the
scenes stuff, things that went into the making of the movie.
Some stuff you may not know, a lot of stuff
that you might know, like maybe some of the controversial
things about say Little Mermaid. Maybe some of the stuff
that might be I don't know part of say the
(01:48):
art on the cover. Who knows. Gotta see what the
IMDb says, But you got that. Also myself with Travis
over DC Alliance, I have been doing our DC films
through the year, and then Chris and David over at
the Marvel Allance have been are doing their backs are broadcast,
so we've got a bunch of great content over there.
(02:08):
We also have a bunch of great back content. So
if you are interested, go check out our Patreon at
the five dollars tier. If you are unable to, we
totally get it, but if you can go give us
a rating review, it will help all of the other listeners.
You know, find our podcast and check us out. So
(02:30):
here we are. We are on the final episode, a
revival of this season, season one, and we did it.
We got one season of this show so far. Still
no word on the season two, and I will I'll
hold my thoughts off until the end. I'm gonna try
(02:53):
and do my best for that, although if I'm being honest,
I'll probably that'll probably spill out as I'm talking about
thee but because that's just how I do. But yeah,
so let's just go ahead and dive into it. Spoilers ahead.
If you haven't watched the episode yet, go check it
out on Peacock. I think this coming Friday, I believe
(03:16):
it was on this or yeah, Friday, Thursday Friday. It
will be on Peacock this this weekend, so go check
it out. Yeah, so let's hop into it, and we
start out kind of where we left off, where Blaine is.
You know, he's got m captured. She is now strung up,
(03:36):
chained up on the post in the church, and he's
preaching on his radio show to whoever's listening, but also
to everybody in the congregation there right now, which is
his cult. Along with m and Ibraheim who is in
(03:58):
the pews being handcuffed obviously, but yeah, he's he's talking
about cleansing Walsaw of the Revivors and how they are
basically a plague on the city and how he has
got the away of of dealing with them. He talks
(04:19):
about how he saw the lights on Revival Day and
how you know, he came across an angel and how
this angel, you know, said the name of Rose when
he came upon it. Now we can infer if you
(04:44):
knowing that that angel is was uh Jesse black black beer,
black tars, you know, you can understand why it was
it said because Rose was his daughter. But you know,
(05:06):
it's it's one of those things where it Ibrahim hears
this and he's just like, yeah, that's you're you're full
of shit, basically, like because I also saw an angel
and while you're describing it as being a force of
evil getting rid of revivers, and he like and Blaine
(05:29):
shows up, it shows his hand and how it's like,
oh no, human, no, anybody with the soul can't touch it. Basically,
Ibrahim's like, yeah, no, like I saw one too, Like
I saw it join with a reviver, like with love
and peace and sincerity, and like, whatever you're describing is
not what I saw. Like, I don't know what you saw,
(05:52):
but what I saw was not that. But I also
saw what you saw. I saw the video, and the
way I interpret it as is, these beings are there's
something they're not, you know, an angel. There something different Wanda.
(06:15):
What was Wanda saying the entire time? You know, And
because Tyler chimes is like she kept on saying, it
wasn't hers. You know, it's not mine. Get away from me,
it's not mine. And even he's like, yeah, it's not hers.
So he's interpreting it as you know, it's not it's something.
It's the spiritual something like he talked about in his
(06:36):
religion that the body and the soul and the body
and the spirit can be separated. And so it could
be the spirit of these revivers. I will state in
the comic I believe they straight up call it their souls,
(06:57):
so like and I may have mentioned that in an
episode of The Two Back, I probably didn't, So if I didn't,
I'm calling it out now. They called they straight up
call it souls. So these alien creatures are the souls
of the revivers. And so if you were to find
your soul and connect with your soul, then you can
(07:20):
ultimately finally find peace and be laid to rest. And
obviously the one that Blaine had was not Wanda's, so
she got forced out and I'm assuming that she is
(07:42):
now in eternal damnation because she was. She is not
resting peacefully. So I mean Blaine basically killed her again.
Then it's not you know, it's not great, but I
mean they go back and forth about basically the function
of science over religion and all that, and Ibrahem starts
(08:04):
talking about how, you know the light that Blaine saw
was possibly from em. You know, she was probably the
spark that started everything. She was probably the one that
started that kicked off Revival day because she has a
connection to the water. She has whatever is going on
(08:27):
with her like she is, she herself is special. Obviously,
the more Creek water is given the revivers a little
bit of energy and has been able to help all
of them out, but her in particular has been it
has been something different. So Tyler, you know Tyler himself,
(08:49):
he like he gives em some of the sedatives whatever
was they figured out that slows down theirs because Blaine
is like, he's kind of sick and tired of whatever's
Ibrahim is trying to spout off to him, and he's
going to prove that she is nothing. So he wants
(09:11):
to bring in his age, his new angel that he
has to get rid of her to prove that she
is nothing, So he has Tyler sedate her, and then
he calls his people over at Moore Creek to bring
in the new angel. Problem is, we found out last
(09:32):
time that third party, whoever that was, had killed all
of those guys before the angel could appear. And when
Blaine calls him up, obviously they'll answer and he's like,
where's my angel. They're supposed to be here by now,
and so he's he's kind of starting to freak out
a little bit. While this is happening. On the outside,
(09:55):
we see Dana and Wayne come creeping around the corner
and they're trying to sneak up on some of the
militia guards on the outside, and they're getting really close
and then Lester from behind them starts like, hey guys,
I'm over here and gives away their position and all
(10:17):
three of them get captured because Lester can't keep his
mouth shut. And then he wonders why why Wayne was
ignoring him for the longest time. Yeah, So obviously they
get brought into the church and Wayne and Dana c
M all strung up on you know, chained up on
(10:41):
the cross, the X cross, and Blaine holding her hostage,
and Dana tries to appeal to Blaine's not religious fanaticism,
talk about how M is special, how she has special
(11:04):
abilities because when Dana was you know, shot and wounded, well,
when she was wounded obviously when she got shot at
the hospital and then well to go into the hospital,
and then when she got wounded by the Czech brothers
and she was dying, M healed her. And so he
tells her that she was like, I got I got stabbed,
(11:25):
I was dying and m M healed me. And Blaine's like, bullshit,
I don't believe you one bit, and he's he but
he is hesitant. So he's like, okay, we'll prove it,
and he instead of he takes his gun away from M,
points it at Wayne shoots him in the stomach and
he's like, all right, well now she can heal him,
(11:48):
but she's still tied up, And of course this sets
both M and Dana. It's like a little bit of
a frenzy. M breaks the chains off of her, off
of the cross thing, and Blaine's just like, well, what
the heck I thought you said day at her, and
(12:08):
she's and tiles like I did, I think she needs
a bigger dose. Of course, not knowing this, he apparently
did not hear when Angela whatever the one doctors was
telling Kal that she needed a triple the sedation and
so yeah, Da m rushes over to Wayne and she's
(12:30):
em starts trying to heal Wayne, but he can't. She can't.
Nothing's coming out. Dana is trying to keep her calm
at the entire time. Wayne's bleeding out, and he starts
basically telling telling both of them that he loves them
as he starts dying. But before too long, tears like
(12:54):
the black tears start coming out of M's eyes, and
the light, the yellow or the the golden light starts
coming emanating from her hands, and the gunshot wound gets
healed up and he wakes up, and then M obviously
you know, starts to pass out because it zaps her strength.
(13:18):
And yeah, so it proves too blame that she is special,
that something is that whatever, that she's different than the
rest of the Revivers. However, he can't take the chance
of her being special, I guess because obviously he himself
(13:39):
thinks that he's the only special one. So he's going
to you know, he's going to kill her or attempt
to kill her. But that doesn't go as planned because
General Kale shows up opens up fire on the church.
I think she ends up killing a couple of Blaine's militia,
(14:02):
and ultimately everybody has to like scatter. With General Kale
now attacking the church and Blaine kind of trying to
defend himselves, Dana and Wayne grab up m and Lester.
(14:25):
They rush into the back of the church and Lester
with Ibrahim as well. Obviously, Lester tells them like way,
Ibrahim's like, if I can get m to Moore Creek,
I can. You know she needs more of the water.
She needs the water will help her, it'll revive her.
(14:46):
And Lester is like, hey, I own the gristmill right
by the creek. I mean the water isn't as potent,
but some of that, some of the creek water gets
in there. It will at least help her until we
can get her to the creek, So like Lester is
gonna take M to the mill while Ibrahim gets to
(15:11):
JP and Nora and Dana's gonna get to Cooper, gonna
go grab Cooper from Janine because she's been watching Cooper
since since the whole Chech brother is incident, and or
maybe shortly after that, it's whatever, she's been watching Cooper
(15:32):
for a bit. And then Wayne's gonna go out and
deal with General Cale. So everybody splits up, and that's
what we do. So Wayne. Obviously, Cale comes in and
arrests everybody. Wayne isn't giving Cale anything about anything. Obviously,
(15:59):
General Cale wanted u M because that was the whole
like she was the prize. She was the one that
killed the Czech brothers. She was the the reviver, that
is the special one. And now without without her, without
any reviver, because all the revivers at the camp are gone.
(16:24):
Now now Cale has nothing and they can only hold
Wayne for so long. So we go over to Leicester.
You know, he had gotten M to the mill uh
and is getting her kind of set up, gets her
some of the creek water to help her start to
feel better, and you know she's she's just kind of
(16:44):
relaxing we pop over the Dana and Coop is being
you know, she was a Red Janines or who was
the Redgenenes and just he was. He's been having a
tough go obviously it's been kind of rough for him,
you know, with everything that's been going on. But it's
(17:07):
she's he's holding up. I mean, this kid is this
kid is resilient. Uh. Dana does give Lester a call
to see what's make sure everything is going okay, and
Lester informs her that that the cops are still or
(17:28):
the General and her army are still all over the creek,
so to give us some time before she comes to
the mill. But as of right now, like the water
is helping. It's not as good as what Ibraheim could
have done with Doctor Club could have gotten here, but
it's it's helping out. So for right now, just you know,
(17:54):
just like I said, just give it time. But speaking
of General Cale, we pop up with her for just
a second. She gets meets up with her men in
the woods because they found one of the aliens, angels, creatures, whatever,
don't call it, in the woods just laying down. It
(18:17):
looks injured, It looks kind of bronzeish, compared to the
Golden Light, and one of them says that they they're
pretty sure it belongs to Wanda Peterson, Wanda's you know,
the one that was that Blaine had killed. They think
that maybe because Blaine killed her, that the connection to
(18:42):
this one had put it in the weakened state. And
now that now Cale has something, she says to contact Alpha.
Don't know who Alpha is, and that they won't be
leaving Walsaw empty handed, and to just let Wayne go,
like they don't need Wayne anymore. Now. I what really
(19:07):
gets me is, one, how do they know Wanda is dead?
How do they know this belongs to Wanda? Unless they
saw the tape, which I don't think they did, because
like I mean, unless unless they raided the police station
and got taped that way, which I don't. I don't know.
(19:33):
There's there's a few things that they just don't. It
just bugs me that they had the knowledge of Wanda missing,
Like yes, so Wanda m not being like who was
their viv Like when they made the announcement when they
rounded up all the revivers Wanda Jordan and then m
(19:56):
when they called her being the reviver who was killing
the uh the Czech brothers were the three that they
couldn't track. Those are the three that they didn't they
couldn't account for because Wanda had already been captured Red Blane.
Jordan was gone because she had connected with her with
her soul, and Em was at that point in time,
(20:20):
was being hidden by Ibrahim. So this is it was
just one of those things where it bugged me that
that they had this knowledge of Wanda's disappearance when they
(20:46):
could have been like, we think it could be Wanda's
or Jordan's, we don't know. Like I think if they
had mentioned Jordan as well, I wouldn't have been as
like buggy about it. But they didn't. They just immediately
said Wanda, so I don't know. Well, we get back
to Dana and she's looking around Janine's place and she
comes across a book by Aaron Weimer, Aaron being, you know,
(21:12):
the professor that Em was having an affair with. Janine
goes that. She says that she borrowed it from Lester.
She thought that was going to be a steamy romance novel,
but it turned out it was just a boring book
about creeks. And she says she also has a tape
of Aaron talking about the water as well, and so
(21:35):
Dana you know, asks to watch the tape, and so
they pop it in and it is Aaron talking about
the restorative properties of creek water and the mythological ties
that the water would have. And as he's going on,
the video cuts to Janine and Lester having a you know,
(22:00):
it basically cuts to a sex tape of those two together,
and quickly Dana tries to shield Cooper's eyes, but she
sees something on the tape on Lester's chest. There is
a carving or a symbol on Lester's chest, and Janine's like, yeah,
that she's always been weird about by it, but she
(22:21):
thinks she always attributed to something of Lester's Irish heritage,
but Janine recognizes it. Nope, Dana recognizes it as the
symbol that em has been drawing in her journal for
the last however many you know episodes. And then we
get back to Em at the mill and she wakes
(22:44):
up to the sounds of one of the alien creatures
inside the mill, and so when she follows sounds, she
finds a purple glow coming from behind a door, you know,
instead of the gold glow and this is when she
turns around and she sees Lester standing behind her in
(23:07):
a robe. We see the symbol and he's holding the
skeleton mask, the skull mask, and yeah, this everything comes out.
Em accuses him of killing her and Rose, and Lester's like, yeah, no,
I actually I didn't kill you. Aaron actually did that,
(23:30):
like he was the one that did that. But he
goes into the whole narrative of like he him and
and Aaron worked together. This was his plan. They were
partners in this, but Aaron decided that he was gonna
try and do get this this stuff for himself. He
(23:56):
was gonna basically cut Lester out. And Emma was just like,
what are you talking about? So he starts explaining a
little more. He says that when like the water, the
creek water actually has restorative properties. And what they were
doing the first time with Rose is that they were
(24:21):
doing this ritual. They were trying to prove that they
could basically get immortality by you know, sacrificing somebody and
getting their essence basically into themselves. And they proved it
(24:44):
with Rose. Unfortunately they couldn't get it, Like the light
started to come out of Rose. But they didn't get
it fast enough, Like, they weren't able to grab it
from her quick enough for them to harness it, so
they had to but they did learn some stuff, so
(25:06):
they had to plan again, they had to figure something
else out, and they were just they kept on trying.
They kept well, not trying to kill people, but they
kept on reworking stuff and you know, figuring things out.
And it was Aaron's idea to use M mainly to
(25:26):
get rid of his problem of you know, he was
having an affair, you know, so he wanted to try
and kill two births one stone. At the same time,
he wanted to, like I said, cut Lester out and
use the m's essence to save his wife, to make
Anthea invincible or immortal, and that of course pissed off Lester.
(25:51):
So then Lester went around Aaron, you know, with Brent,
to basically take out Aaron U and Dana was collateral
in that. But obviously that didn't stick because you know,
Jesse got there and and May was around and was
(26:14):
kind of also digging things up, and so basically all
all that came to be a problem for for Lester
as well. But ultimately that it became a bigger issue
because em was special. She is actually special. Whatever was
(26:37):
in her kicked off revival day, it like she is
a spark. And when she actually died, when Aaron did
kill her, it whatever, something set a wave out that
not only you know, resurrected her and gave the whole
(27:00):
immortality thing to her instead of giving it to Lester
or Aaron, it gave it to everybody that had died
in the Warsaw area. And so what is going on
now is Lester is trying to convince her like, hey,
(27:26):
you know what this is for the you know, for
the betterment for humanity, like this is actually good for everybody,
and and was like calling him out like this is bullshit,
like you you killed me, you killed Rose. Yeah, I
know you said you didn't kill us, kill us, but
like you had a hand in it all because you
(27:47):
don't want to deal with dying. And he, you know,
he brushes off and he changes the subject, basically kind
of dangling her spirit, the the angel, the alien in
front of her, basically saying like, you know you you
(28:08):
felt you haven't felt whole since you came back, and
I know why, like this this being right here, this
this will help fill the void and like he so
he opens up the door and then we see this creature,
this spirit, this angel, and it's purple, like I said,
it's got purple hue. And this one, you know it
(28:32):
is you know, it's definitely hers. It is calling to her,
but she's not, like it's not going to her and
she's not going to it. What it does do is
it walks toward there's a well in the middle of
this this this mill, and it walks toward that and
gets into it. And Emma's watching it the entire time,
(28:55):
and when she as she's looking at it, she sees
it get in there, and then out of the water
it comes her mom, Patty and basically is calling to her,
and em gets into the water, embraces her mother, And
I did look kind of like this because it did
remind me like she Patty pushes her into the water,
(29:19):
submerges her into it. It is kind of a nice
little like a symbolism of the water births that we
had what like episode three or four for m So
it is kind of a nice little throwback to that.
But the thing is, though, like while this is happening,
and while Patty is holding her down, and that's what
(29:41):
we're seeing. We didn't start seeing flashes of what's really happening,
which is Lester holding Em down like forcefully because he's
trying to get whatever immortality power from her into him
because he's got the mask on, he's got whatever chance
symbol he's doing. At the same time, though, you know,
(30:03):
Dana has obviously put everything together. She comes barreling into
the mill starts firing on Lester. It's not doing anything
because he is starting whatever power he has got, you know,
powered up on it. Like he kind of shrugs off
the bullets, but he turns around and goes and grabs
(30:25):
Dana by his neck and is about ready to like
snap her neck, but then em comes in and rips
his heart out of his chest and he goes falling down.
He dies. Dana goes to to grab her because she
Em is like, I don't feel right, something's wrong, and
(30:48):
then there is this purple like explosion of light that
just comes out of her. It bathes the room and
kind of floods over everything. And then what we get
after that is Wayne coming in finds Dana and he's
(31:11):
asking about him, asking where she's at and and what
happened to her. So after this, after all that happened,
we fast forward thirty five days, so it's been just
over a month. We find Mayor Dillish on the TV
(31:36):
on the Good Morning Wasaw episode like TV show. He's
talking about the Revivers and how the governor has issued
a new bill trying to give you protection for the
Revivers in Walsaw. He comes out and says, you know
that his wife's the Reviver and that they kept it
(31:57):
secret for their protection, and he's just he's basically trying
to say that the Revivers will have a lot more protection. Right,
So what we're getting is that the Revivers are now
all back in Wasaw, and what you can assume is
that Wasaw like they probably are. They probably can't leave
(32:21):
city limits at the moment and probably can't leave or
they probably can't leave the state limits more than likely.
That's probably if we were to get season two, that's
probably gonna be a big factor into that. But we
(32:41):
pull out from that and we're in Dana's house. She's
trying to get ready for work, she's trying to get
Cooper ready for school. He's similar to first episode. He's
sitting at the table eating his breakfast while she's running
around doing things. But Cooper is like, yeah, hey, I
miss you know she He misses m because she's been gone.
(33:04):
She's she's gone. They have no idea where she's at.
And Dana's like, okay, yeah, no, I miss him. I
miss her too, and talks about going to see his
therapist after school, which he's you know, he agrees to,
and so he grabs all the stuff he they talk
about unpacking all his room because it turns out that
she is not gonna be moving away from Walsaw. Now,
(33:27):
she's gonna be staying in Walsaw for good, and they're
gonna make a life here again now because you know,
if you remember before she was planning on leaving. Obviously
that dried up when when all this started happening and
she didn't get the job offer in Chicago. But now
(33:49):
she's for sure staying here. We catch up with Wayne
as he is clearing out his office because he is
not the sheriff right now. He is taking a leave
of absence. JP is stepping up as the interim sheriff,
and then they're gonna take a an election here soon
(34:12):
to see who will be the new sheriff, or maybe
Wayne will be the be re elected, who knows, but
either way, he's gonna be going on vacation and he's
gonna have a lot of free time on his hands.
We do get Ibraheim showing up at Dana's place with
(34:33):
some donuts. There's apparently he has accepted a job at
the university. That way he has he could do some
more studying of Moore Creek and also, you know, maybe
have some time with Dana. And she is really heavy
(34:53):
about that. So M herself she starts going through no
Dana herself. She starts going through M's belongings. She finds
a pamphlet about Myrtle Beach in one of her journals,
and also in a journal is one of her poems. Now,
(35:14):
I'm not going to read the poem because I don't
have the poem in front of me. But as the
poem is being read, we get a montage of a
bunch of other characters. We have Rody writing his notebook.
We have Blaine recording another episode of his radio show.
We have Nathea getting her chemotherapy at the hospital. We've
(35:34):
got Wayne visiting Patty's grave and he, you know, he's
putting a picture of Patty and M on there along
with a beque of flowers. And then we get back
to Dana meeting with kay Ka, being M's roommate for college,
and kay is is dropping off the last of M's
(35:57):
things and and Dana talks about how she you know,
they both talked about how they missed M. And Dana
just kind of off handly just remarks about how she
wishes that Kay never suggested AM going to the bridge
that night, you know, that way revival night, Revival Day
wouldn't have happened. And Kay Is just like, squeeze me,
(36:20):
I never suggested that, and Dana's just like, well, no,
I you know, she said one of her friends told
her to. And I kind of douced that you were
her only friend. And Kay was like, I mean we're friendly,
but like we were never really friends. I mean maybe
it was one of her online forums things like I
(36:42):
you know, she was always on the message message boards.
And so after kay left, Dana gets in the M's
laptop and sure enough, on a message board, she finds
that there was some random person that had messaged M
telling her to go visit the bridge, and Dana being
(37:06):
the detective calls up May and be like, hey, could
you look into this IP address for me? I something
suspicious is going on here. So later that night, as
Cooper is getting ready for bed, Dana gets called from
Wayne from her dad, and it obvious it's obvious that
(37:29):
Wayne is having a tough time with everything. He misses
definitely misses Cooper, and it also seems like he misses
his family in general. It's also obvious that whatever relationship
he has with Dana is strained, specifically after the revelation
(37:52):
that he was having an affair with Diane Dillish. So
Dana does make her remark because like me, well Cooper doesn't.
This is probably not a good idea to talk to him.
Yet he still blames you for what happened to m
which is kind of harsh but I mean maybe true.
(38:14):
But she does reach out. She's like, you know, if
you ever do want to talk, I am here for you,
Like she she does throughout that laugh line lifeline. He
doesn't outright say yes, but he also doesn't say no,
so that's that's a good thing. And then like she
(38:38):
the Galt phone and she's walking away, and then the
phone rings again and it's May. It turns out that
the IP address is from the Wimer residence and that
Dana wasn't actually wasn't surprised by that because I think
she pieced it together that Aaron was the one behind
it all. But she also finds out that Nathia wasn't
(39:04):
assigned to be M's court court appointed therapist. She actually
sought out m as a therapist. So why is that
The very next day, Dana goes knocking on the door,
(39:25):
but Nathia is at home. She has no idea where
she's at, can't find her. We actually do get a
scene where it's like the the hospital and she's not there.
What we do get though, is Nathia sewing up the
skull hood mask or a skull hoodie and then hands
(39:48):
it over to em who puts it on, and then
she walks out over to a window as the camera's
pulling out and it's at this cabin in the middle
of who knows where, no idea, and that is kind
of the end of it. That's how it the season ends. Yeah,
(40:10):
so Nathia definitely plays a bigger part in what has
been going on. Uh So, I'd be interested to see
if we get a second season, what would play out there?
I do what I do like, so I'll say this
this this season was good? Is it? It wrapped up
(40:31):
in the way that if they were not to get
a second one, I am satisfied. But they also left
enough questions that if they did have a second season, okay, cool,
all them all there like this is it was fine?
Like it was? It was. It was good, good season.
(40:52):
There were some mishaps, but this is definitely definitely one
where I would recommend. I'd recommend watching it. Have some
fun stuff to it, but no, yeah, that's that's really it.
Good show. Really hoping for a second one, second season.
I think they can do a lot with the season two.
And there's a lot more in the comics that I
(41:13):
can remember that they haven't been touched on. So maybe
maybe we'll get a second season. We'll find out in
a few weeks hopefully. But that being said, thank you
all for listening to this episode, and uh we will
catch you next time.
