Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of a Walk
through the Multiverse. I'm your host, Joe, and this show
is part of the geek Ultimate Alliance network with six
shows in total. You can find them down in this
show notes below. We've got a Patreon with two tiers,
the dollar tiers. Nice little thank you. You appreciate what
we're doing and you'd just like to give back somehow.
But we also have a five dollars here which will
give you add free content, early access to content, and

(00:23):
Patreon exclusive content. Add free because this show will have
ads and there will be a sound bite when those
ads happen. As for the Patreon exclusive, I've been doing
my Multiverse minutes Disney Dives. We're I've been going through
all of the Disney animated feature films from the beginning,
working my way through to the present day. I just
put out my episode talking about what was I talking about, Oh,

(00:47):
Oliver and Company. That's the one I just did. Coming
up next is Little Mermaid, so that would be kind
of fun to cover that. Myself and Travis over at
DC Alliance we're doing our DC films through the year,
and then Chris and David over at Marvel Liones are
doing their backs to broadcast where they're going through all
of the Fox Nope, not Fox, just the Fantastic Four

(01:09):
because there was that the first one was not a
Fox film. I don't remember what that was, Sir Roger Corman.
It was unreleased. It's not great. But anyway, we've got that,
we've but we also have a bunch of other great
content over on the Patreon. Go ahead and give that
go ahead check that out at the five dollars here.
But if you are unable to, if you can't do that,

(01:32):
we totally understand, go ahead and give us a ratio
review and it will help other listeners find the podcast.
It will help them, you know, check it out, and
we greatly appreciate it. So with that being said, thank
you all for checking out this episode. As you can see,

(01:52):
I'm back into the twisted Metal. We are on the
third block of this sea in season two, episodes six
and seven, and of course I had to bring on
my good friend Chuck to cover these next two episodes.
You have a confused look on your face, Chuck, Yes,

(02:14):
it's episode six and seven.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Really up to six and seven already? Wow?

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Okay? Yeah, Well, because they did three and one two three,
right yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, sorry, I had to do
I had to do boy math I look, I had
I was confused itself. I thought it was like five
and six. I'm like, no, no, no, they dropped three
in the first one, and then two and then four
and five and then.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yeah, I guess I forgot that we had a week
of just two episodes.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah, yeah, because the next week is also two episodes,
and then the final week is three episodes. Yeah, because
they want to do some episodes, but they can't do three.
They can't do four four weeks to three episodes. They
have to do five weeks of three two two two
three for whatever reason.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Listen, you know that there were some guys sitting in
a desk in an office who crunched these numbers to
figure out what the best release schedule was for them.
And I love them for it, you know, I love
the part of me that loves the part of them
for figuring out a convoluted release schedule.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Convoluted right, yes, yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Uh but yeah, so six and seven, uh right, six
and seven?

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Okay, Uh, this was a this was a big This
was a big block of show episodes.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
There's a lot that happens, a lot.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
That happens, some surprising choices.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, and some stuff I and now I'm not upset
that that happened, just surprised that it happened so soon
in the series.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
There's also a few things I question, especially in the
actually it would be in the seventh episode, the actual tournament. Yeah,
we'll get there in that round in that episode. But yeah, no,

(04:19):
you're right, like there are some things that played out
that it seems quick, but when you think about it,
that's actually technically halfway through the season, which I mean again,
because we're the way they're dropping these and the way
that they're playing out, it doesn't seem as quickly because
we're getting so much. Again, they are only half hour episodes,

(04:44):
you know, they're not they're not an hour long. They're
not you know, like we have been for other shows
getting a long drawn out productions. But I again, if
you think about it, having in to have our episodes
is technically equivalent to what we're doing, So I guess

(05:07):
in that way, it does seem like it's not like
this is only like episode three comparatively to what you
will be getting with like say like Revival or Resident
alien that I have also been covering. But yeah, no,
it's it's it has been interesting, Like there is a

(05:27):
lot that happened here, but also in these two episodes,
there's some stuff that are like, Okay, this, these are
some choices that I have been that I'm just like
you did this. Why is John in particular not picking
up on things that happened? Why is he not putting

(05:48):
pieces together? Like, yeah, I know he's not dumb, but
like like let's let's just hop into it. Yeah, Like
it opens up with a flashback of him him in
Evelyn with Evelyn, and he meets Calypso before he knows
his Calypso, and.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
And Calypso does not look any really any different.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
No, I mean he's just he's in like a like
some schlubby clothes.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
But yeah, like casual wear in comparison to the suit
that he wears now.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Yeah, but like he still has the long hair, he's
still kind of performing magic. He still has that laugh,
like of all things, Yes, you would think that laugh
and talking about wishes would have clued John into And
even the name Calypso is a pretty unique name. So
when Raven in the first season sends him out to

(06:45):
go meet with Calypso in the very in season one.
He should have picked up on that. You know. Then
I also understand that it is a like they in
the first season they're writing stuff out. They don't know
if they're gonna get a season two, they don't know
what's gonna happen, so they're they're kind of trying to

(07:06):
work some stuff in. I get that, but like, yeah, no,
Like he meets Calypso here they're having He's trying to
get some some like a fire started, and Calypso just
kind of pops up, starts the wood magically, has some
drinks appear magically, and also finishes up his side magically,

(07:28):
which I thought was kind of fun, and then just disappears,
you know, after asking John what his if he had
a wish, what it would be, and John wishes for
like a home and security and safety. And I think
this is where Calypso kind of has a like he
he basically tells John like you're you know, that's kind

(07:50):
of stupid, Like you're a man of your own, like
castle kind of thing, like you you don't need anybody else,
no one, if you rely on people that are just
gonna bring you down. And I think this is where
Calypso kind of has a takes a liking to John
because John like even asks him like, well, what would

(08:11):
you wish for? Like he he reciprocates it back, because
what Calypso wishes for is to be seen, and that's
literally what John did. John saw him and he he
talked back to him. He reciprocated the talking to the asking.
So I think I think this is this is Calypso

(08:33):
helping John out a little bit, which comes with him
getting all the perks right, you know, throughout the tenement.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah, it's it's interesting. I wonder if it's like a
magic related thing of like why John, or maybe John's
just keeping his cards close to his chest, you know
what I mean, Like he still doesn't don't really know
who he can and can't trust. Maybe that you know,
you've been saying it's Mayhem working for Calypso. Maybe John's

(09:10):
actually working for Callipso this whole time. We don't know,
But I am, but I am leaning in. I am
starting to believe you more and more and think that
you're right about Mayhem working for Calypso. With various things
that have happened.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
In this Oh yeah, I gotta I gotta thing to
bring up on episode seven. Yeah, I think it's Mayhem again.
So yep.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
But yeah, so we have this, like, we have this
flashback and we it's interesting because it also sets the
tone of kind of why the tournament exists when you listen,
when you hear like Calypso's wishes of wanting to be seen,
right and wanting to be because I almost took that

(09:57):
as like he wants to also just be like popular.
He wants to be seen and like popular and acknowledged.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
And this tournament he has the ability to give all
these people these wishes, you know, a wish of who wins,
and for him now he is seen because he provides
value for all of these people that ultimately would not
know or care about him in that way. So it's

(10:26):
very interesting. And then we cut back after the flashback
to right where the last episode left off, yep, where
they turn around to try to go get Mayhem. Uh
and so Specter was still alive.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yes, Spector. So Spector is Chucky Flupe yep, and he's
chasing after Mayhem yep. Yeah, how he survived a flair
through his face is shocking, but yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Mean whatever works, you.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Know, yeah, yeah, he So he's chased after Mayhem and
road Kill comes up and you know, gets in between
Spector and Mayhem to save them. And then you know,
Spector just kind of you know, pisses off the stops
chasing after them for now.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, because he does remember that the whole point is
that he needs to win the race.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Yeah, cross This is the preliminaries, Like, yes, you can
kill people here now, but to get into the tournament,
you need to cross the line. And so, you know,
they then they start going. You still have uh, Sweet
Tooth trying to kill wanting to kill Grim, but Stu

(11:44):
doing everything he can to you know, try and stop
Sweet Tooth, which I do like. When they cross the line.
Sweet Tooth is pissed off at Stew but acknowledges that
while while Stu what he did was a very chaotic

(12:06):
and they are aged of the chaos, he accepts it,
but he's like, if you ever crossed me again, I
will cut you yea, yeah you will, and I will
end you. Basically I thought that was kind of kind
of fun.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yeah, well, I mean once again. Sweet Tooth is a
man of principle and morals.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yes, kind of guy.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah, and like, yeah, he does not like when his
friends turn their back on him. He has a loyalty
and he's still because sweet Tooth's ultimate goal is to
be the best at killing. He wants to be this
notoriously known person and him killing Grim, in his eyes,

(12:49):
would get him there.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, and Stude knows that and he brings it up
later when when people are going to make their wishes
and there's a fighting in the cafeteria, Stu shoved it
back in his face. He's like, yeah, you can. You
can kill Grim now and you'll be disqualified and then
no one will know your name. Mm hmm, Like then what,
There'll just be some dumb clown.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yep, yeah, he I think that's I thought that was
a really important moment for these two characters, of like
reminding that like Stu is more than just a friend
and sweet Tooth, like sweet Tooth doesn't realize it yet,
but he is the He is the conscience, and like
common sense that sweet Tooth needs to not just essentially

(13:36):
constantly get himself eliminated or killed potentially or whatever. Right
almost humanizes Sweet Tooth in that way. Uh, And I
really I really like their relationship and I think it's
very fun. So they crossed the line. Raven I think
had already crossed the line gets the first right.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Then comes Mike and Dave in Warhammer I think it's
their their name their Hammerhead sorry Hammerhead. Yeah yeah, and
then comes starts coming in everybody else.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
We get a We get uh John and Quiet taking
out jump yard Dog.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah, which I was bombed. I was really hoping Joe Yard.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Dog would make it.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Uh but whatever, but yeah, they get shut down and
somebody else.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Uh. Well, okay, so I don't know, I don't know
anybody else until the main one.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
I mean, yeah, yes, there is. There is one very
important thing that happens in this episode.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
But look, I'm trying to like, I don't think of
everybody else until that.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
So because Rodent made it or not, rode in Specter
ends up making it, Yeah, Chucky Bloop Mayhem crosses was
it was it Chucky who thinks he was first? And
then he looks around and the like everybody else is
already there.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
That that's uh, that's Sweet Tooth in the next episode.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
That's the next episode. Yeah. Okay, okay, okay, I enjoyed.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
I enjoyed that. Sweet is like what I mean, well,
we just no, No, I don't want I want to
say that because that's something I want to question about later.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yeah, yeah, I have some questions about seven.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Yeah, let's go ahead talk about that. Yeah. We we
get to a point where where roadkill is getting swamped
by by grim and so they call up uh face
Krista to come in with the the e MP, which
I'm like, you don't want to use the MP right now?

(16:07):
This is the qualifier? Yeah, what the hell you doing?

Speaker 2 (16:09):
It's the qualifiers swamped There was like two cars. Maybe
y'all haven't done anything other than just drive yet we
got to use the MP. You're gonna use this? Like really?
Also it would affect their car too.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
They were so close, I know, Like, what are you doing?

Speaker 2 (16:31):
I don't Yeah. I think it was supposed to be
in this moment of like John not thinking clearly or
something like, because he has had these moments of like
he's got this idea and it may but he thinks
it will work. In the moment, he almost pulls like
a quiet right quiet's not thinking long term of like
what could potentially happen only thinking short term. So it's

(16:54):
interesting though that there was that role switch. Okay maybe
I don't know. Yeah, Frankly I was really confused by
it and did and it was just like, uh, why
would you use the MP now there's like two guys
on us that Yeah. But she yeah, yeah, and so
she like tries to zoom up to activate it and

(17:16):
it like glitches on her or doesn't work.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Uh yeah, so then she so then she turns her
out like she she does like an autopilot on the Uh.
The ATV turns around starts firing at Grim with whatever
gun she had.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
She had, like a big machine gun.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Yeah, and like he fires back and ends up like
hitting her in the mask.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
And at this point I'm like, all right, so you're
it just proved that you're completely unprotected. Like Al is
able to maneuver with his giant wheels how I don't know,
Grim has got some sort of supernatural protection, but hell,
he's got something. He's very maneuverable. Sure you have got

(18:05):
a four wheel a TV. You have nothing on you.
And then right at that moment, the Knights of Nebraska
wherever the hell they.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Are yes, which they have been officially called brimstone. That is,
that's what the brimstone was.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
The on the license plate of the the Holy Man.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Oh you're right, I'm sorry. Who wait? Who were the Knights?

Speaker 1 (18:36):
They were the ones that took.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Out those right right, right, the the mad Maxican dudes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
you're right.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
You're right, you're right, you're right here.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Yes, the Nights I forgot. I forgot the Knights and
the holy Men are not the same guys.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Yeah, yes, So so the Knights come up and they
shoot a harpoon through her stomach. Correct, And it's then
they pull her off of a TV and it's like,
oh fuck, okay, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
I thought it was interesting that they have made the
choice to kill her off so early in the series.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Again, by we think about it, it's halfway through the season.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
It's happening through the season. But I feel like this,
this would have meant I feel like this gets lost
in this episode.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
It does, it really does.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
This should have meant more, and like they could have
killed her off more towards the end of the season
as like a a true like moment in episode seven.
It kind of makes a little bit more sense of
why it happens. But like, when I was watching this moment,
I go, oh shit, They're like they just like killed

(19:51):
her off. Yeah, and it felt and it felt very
it felt very rushed. I guess that's the word I'm
looking for here. But yeah, she gets harpooned by the
Knights and pulled off, uh, which I for when I
first saw it, I thought it was Grim's same.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
I was like, oh shit, because like it would make
sense if Grim did it to an extent, it would.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
To go after Grim. Yeah, somebody else to go after Grim. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Yeah. And then so she gets pulled off and she's like, well,
if I'm going to die, then I'm taking you with me.
Y'all better, And it's like, has this really dramatic, kind
of like cringey moment of being like you guys better
win this one or something, and she shoots her package
so a missile flies down where she is and also

(20:46):
kills the Knights. Yep, yeah, uh little cheesy. I mean
this show is cheesy, right, The show is like cringing
and cheesy to an extent. But there was a party, yeah,
But there was a part of me that was just like, oh,
oh okay, I don't know how I feel about this.
I guess I'm fine with it knowing what happens in

(21:07):
seven because it leads to a pretty significant plot development.
But in this moment in time, I was just like, Oh, okay,
I guess we don't care about characters.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Cool.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Also fascinated that her mask apparently is bulletproof, right because
she took a bullet to the face and it didn't
bother but.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
To the eye. To the eye.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
But it sounds like one of those like plastic Halloween
masks when everybody is touching it. But yeah, so her
autopilot thing still drives because.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Drives straight at that it doesn't hit any any uh.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Nothing, no other vehicles, the breing zones, yeah and nothing whatever.
Totally just navigates itself to the finish line where John
now realizes that she is dead. Which I'm gonna be honest,
Anthony Anthony Mackie, He's usually a really good actor, but
I thought his like sadness fell flat. Maybe it's just me.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
I'm not. I'm not. I can't say it didn't fell flat.
I just wasn't like em I get but and that's
all probably because she's because this I'm watching three episodes

(22:40):
or two episodes at a time, like I'm seeing this
character so quickly. Yeah, I didn't get invested with this character. Yes,
I was faddened that she got killed off. But like him,
he doesn't know this character, like he just he literally
just met her like a two days ago, five days ago, whatever,

(23:02):
So he doesn't have any emotional beats to her.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
I mean sure, but then also got a flashback. Yeah,
you get a flashback. And also then that doesn't make
any sense of what happens in seventh if he has
no emotional attachment.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Well, yeah, you know you're not wrong, because by the
end of this episode, when what happens is they Calypso
takes all the winners gets into a high school where
they're going to be staying.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Yeah, Tournament City.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Yeah, I like you to like, yeah, I'm workshopping the name.
Yeah it's dude, it's the Karrigan. I love. I'm loving
this guy.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
He is. Yeah, he is the shining beacon in this
in the show. And I was not expecting him to
be this good.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
It's because he's like he is at one moment he
is like scary when my Raven tries to threaten him
and he's just like, dude, not come at me, like
I will tear you down. Yeah, and then he's trying
to be goofy and it's not working, but it's working, you.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Know, like yeah, right, it's it's one of those It's
it's like the he is very much the corporate like
I'm trying to make jokes here and stuff like that,
but then somebody says something that's like opposite of what
the brand of the company is and he just like
immediately goes into like corporate dick mode is the only
way I can describe it. When he's like, yeah, when

(24:30):
he's talking with the Raven, he's just like he has
the best corporate version of who the fuck do you
think you're talking to right now?

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:40):
I oh, I absolutely love this. I love Clipso as this,
which is fun because this is not really a version
of Clipso from that we have, you know that we
see from the games and stuff. I mean Clypso it's
not really a He's a character, but he's just kind
of in the background.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
He's not one that you yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
They don't do a lot of character development with Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
So he takes them to where the living at, where
they'll be staying at He gives them the tour. They
you know, cafeteria is where they'll be eating. They've got
room assignments everybody they could want to the halls all
they want. There's no killing outside of the tournament like
tournament grounds. You can the the vehicles of the state
in the shop, you can you can modify any time

(25:19):
you want. It's open twenty four hours, upgrade it all
the time you want. But yeah, Like so they go
to the cafeteria and then he basically tells everybody that
you know, Uh, in a few moments, I'm gonna start
calling you individually by car to come in and make

(25:43):
your wish. Well, there is a fun scene where they
have he has like a has everybody do like a
physical and that's just kind of that's just a fun,
little quick fun scene.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Was a fun scene.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
There is also a part that I absolutely adore in this,
which is they get three square meals a day. Uh
and uh they're getting sandwiches and Sweetooth's pissed that there's
a crust on them.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
It's it's Harold, that's mad.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Harold.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Yeah, the bag.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Harold the bag, Yeah, Harold the bag of there's crust
on it and he throws the sandwich at stew and
so he's like, they all have crust. It's like and
I just recently did this with my six year old nephew.
So he was like, he wanted to pick a jelly
sandwich without the crust, and we had packed a bunch
of sandwiches. I was like, well they all have crust.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Dude, like, yeah, you can cut the crust off. It's
not hard to do that.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yeah, just rip the crust off, man, But no, he
wanted a sandwich without the crust.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
But yeah. And then so what Calypso says is that
you get one wish per car and he starts calling
up right back. They all go make the wish. John
and Quiet are the last ones they go in. It's
a literally just a wishing well.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
They yeah, very strange, like they like, I guess this
is just more Either it's Calypso is really.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
From the last couple episodes as a showman.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Like he either he built the set or this is magic,
but either way, it's very much a showman. Yeah, and
there's a bunch of coins. There's actually more coins than
there are drivers.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Well, I mean it's probably probably the amount of coins
was the amount of.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
People who were there, right, But I just tint. I
thought it was interesting that the essentially the amount of
coins didn't change. But obviously there's a now there's a
reason for it, right of course. Yeah, but I thought
that was kind of interesting, of just like a weird
little oversight on Calypso kind of and.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
That I don't know if it actually was an oversight
perhaps also true, yeah, which is interesting. So yeah, because
so what happens is Quiet makes the wish of you know,
taking down all the walls of all the cities.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
So well, yes, taking down all of the walls of
all of the cities, which makes me think that because
it was so vague that I'm calling it right now,
this is this is my call if she wins, that
Calypso just levels all of the cities, because it's all
the walls, including buildings and all their structures and things

(28:38):
like that, because all she said was I want all
the walls of all the cities to come down.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Oh. Interesting.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Yeah, and Calypso, I mean again, I'm just drawing this
from the game. Is a bad fucking person that when
he gives you your wish, it always ends badly for you.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
So he's you think calyps of the gym, you think
he's just be a gin.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Maybe maybe that's the maybe that's the whole thing is yeah,
which would kind of make sense. Yeah, he's also I
think in the game, he's at one point he's like
he just can't grant wishes and then uh, maybe it's
in black he's actually like a demon or something.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Something like that.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Okay, yeah, I think I know at one point he
does become a demon because I'm sweet tooth changes and
becomes a demon rememb you're.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Talking about that. Yeah, So yeah, so she makes the wish,
John is okay with it. They go to leave and
and she leaves, but he rushes back because they had
left Dollphace's mask sitting on the well, and he grabs
it and she had already left the room, and you
hear that, you hear the door close behind her, and

(29:50):
he's looking at the mask and he then he has
a flashback of of Dollphace making or updating his vest,
like putting a spider and also telling him what his
birthday is, basically giving him something back that he forgot. Yep,

(30:13):
And so he does the thing that he shouldn't have.
He grabs another coin and he makes a wish to
bring Krista back to life. End of episode.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Yeah, so I thought that was strange. I mean I understand,
like so, like this is the big plot development that
we have to like now watch is if John's driving
and John wins, does that mean his wish comes true?
Quiet driving and they went one.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Wish per car? What matter who's driving, it's the car.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
So if at that point, do they have to then
fight it out at the end, Like I my assumption
would be that's the that's gonna be the twist is
that she doesn't know that John made the wish and
then clips I was like, well, you can only have
one wish, so you two have to fight it out
and whoever lives, you know, whoever kills the other one

(31:21):
gets the gets their wish. That would that would be
my guest. I mean, I'm of course thinking the worst
case scenario, of course, because it's because it's swisted metal
and nothing is nothing right, Yeah, nothing is fair. But
also like.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
Clypso knows everything that goes on one in the city
too everywhere, like he's omnipotent almost like he knows what
he knows he made there's two wishes ever made. He
has to. Yeah, like he's not he's not dumb, So
in my eyes, he's probably like I I didn't think

(31:58):
about that with him tearing down cities. Yeah, because walls
being a you know whatever term. You know, that's that's
actually an interesting thought process there.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Yeah, it just I mean, just like even drawing it
from the character that he is in this he just
I just don't trust him. I just can't trust But
also we don't. So the episode ends, and then episode
seven starts, and then they're kind of like talking about
their wishes.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Yeah, we we go into the garage and everybody's working
on their stuff and they start talking about the wishes.
Raven refuses to say hers, although we know if you're
watching the show, we know what hers is is to
bring back her her friend, partner, partner. Yeah, we don't
hear axles. He doesn't say his frostbite wants to feel warmth.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
And yeah, I don't know this character. I don't ever
remember this character being any Maybe I've just never paid
attention an interesting character that help me.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
She won't make it, but yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
Feel like she's probably gonna die in the next episode.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, Chucky Flupe wants to fly, which I guess he does.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
I mean, I there was I was never I was
never so happy to see a character disappear.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Was so over him, which because because ums.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
So yeah and he uh, which was funny because that
was the moment with with Raven and Calypso, which was
she wanted a room by herself and they the room
by himself, there was only one and they had to
give that to the baby.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Baby Preacher man.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Yeah, baby Preacher is baby Preacher got wild and I
was not expecting maybe preaching man, maybe a Preacher was
crazy and also kind of plays into what we assume,
which is, uh, the Preacher is super Yeah, maybe that

(34:18):
is not like now more of a baby, like a
toddler almost.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
And I can only assume spoiler alert, the Holy Men
died in this episode. Preacher survives but gets handed off
to Calypso by the end of it. I can only
assume Calypse is going to and so that's how we're
gonna get Preacher maybe in season three. Now, maybe if
they get Jason man Zuka's back, that's how we're gonna
get it back. I can only assume that him being

(34:43):
with Calypso is gonna be who knows what is going
to happen now? Yep. So that being said, I don't
even remember what the what the holy men what their
wish was for, but they say I thought they.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Did maybe maybe it was like to bring him back or.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Literally everybody said, except for Sweet Tooth Axel, My.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Sweet Tooth Sweets said if you was he the one
that it was like, well, if you say it, it's
like a birthday wish, then it doesn't come true.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yes, yea. Axel didn't say it because he doesn't get
two ships about these people. Mike was getting ready to
say it. Dave didn't want to didn't want to make
a wish, so he gave it to Mike. Mike was
betting ready to say it, but Vermin jumped in front
of him and the.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Rule the world. Yep, yep, yep. Yeah, I can't wait
for her to die. She's so creepy uh.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
We we didn't hear grims yeah, and then then we
hear quiet talk about hers, uh and then yeah when
she says it, Raven, I like, how the one holy man,
the one that you said was the one guy that you.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Yes, yeah, he's He's Stewart. He plays one of the
skids on Letter Kenny, which is I was like because
his voice was so familiar, but he was weirdly uncredited
through most of this, yeah, which I thought was really strange.
But he Yeah, he has a very distinct voice and

(36:24):
a very distinct posture. He has the same posture of
like kind of suddenly hunched over, but he doesn't actually
stand like that. It's very strange and now for life
when he can't think of the actor's a real name,
but yeah, his voice and his posture was the same.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
Tyler Johnston.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Yes, Tyler Johnson, that's the name, and yeah, he very
much yeah type castid because he plays kind of a
weird creepy dude in Letter Kenny. But I highly recommend it.
I've never seen Letter Kenny. It's a very good, like
little skitch show kind of Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Yeah, he says something on the lines of well, you
make all of our all of our wishes seemed like crap,
now seem like selfish. And then you have Mayhem who
pops in and it's like I wish for invincibility.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
It's just like, yeah, okay, I don't what don't I
don't believe her. I don't believe her.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
I don't know what she wished for, but I don't
think she wished for anything, because again I think she's
working for Clypso. But she does have to wish. So
how many?

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Now I kind of want to go back and I
want to count if I can see how many coins
were left when Quiet and John went in, because they
were the last two to go in. Yeah, and if
the mass mass is maths right.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
With however many people yet the qualifier?

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Yeah, it was started with the qualifier. And if that,
if the number of people who were eliminated, did Mayhem
actually make a wish? Or is she working with Calypso? Hmm,
you know what I mean? Like, yeah, be would there
be an extra coin there? Essentially gotcha from what she did? Yeah,
because I'm I'm very much on the conspiracy theory now

(38:07):
of that she is a.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
Well and you know, the good thing about this series,
minus the commercials on Peacock, is that it is a
really quick series to binge. Like the half eye episodes
are easy episodes to get through, which is nice. But yeah,
so from here, Calypso pops up in the workshop. He

(38:34):
tells them about the next the first round of the tournament,
which is called the Warehouse Dicks Strict Warfare, which I
assume is from the game.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
That is the second stage in the first tournament. I
believe in the first game because the first one is
like an arena battle, which I had forgotten. It is
like an arena battle, and then I think the second stage,
you're either in this you're in the town, you're in
the in a city, or you're in a warehouse. I

(39:06):
don't remember, but yeah, awesome.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
And then yeah, there are tasks to grab these tickets
from wherever, you know. So there's twelve twelve tests right now,
and there's only eight tickets, so which means only eight
people are gonna get through make it to the next round.
If you try getting through the finish line without a ticket,

(39:32):
you will be skewered and uh, you know.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Killed, which is a trap from one of the games
I don't remember. They would just kind of like be
set up and occasionally would if you drove over them,
they would like potentially spike you if you are very cool.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
And so since John and Quiet were the last ones
in the qualifiers, they will be getting an advantage. They'll
be getting a map to where all of the tickets
are apt YEP, and the beginning a minute head start YEP.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
They had like a like a censor scanny thing, just
like a GPS. Yeah, and a one minute head start.
They kind of almost waste.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
Oh one waste, And I think they would have been
fine there were. John was one hundred percent ready for
this until Quiet brought out Dolphace's mask. Once he saw
the mask, it's like the wish that he you know, did,
came back to him, even though it was already weighing

(40:35):
on him because he was stressed wrenching that actual like
called him out on in the grouage. He was doing
that like so it totally flustered him. He got his
own head. He was making like the wrong uh turns,
wrong calls. He was basically driving terribly. And then when

(40:59):
they swapped and Quiet started driving, he was making the
wrong calls on where the turn, reading the map. So
they basically lost their lead, but they did end up
once the the minute was up. They did end up
finding where one of the tickets were at, but so
did the Holy Men and Sweet Tooth and Raven.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
Yeah, the ice rink YEP, which was a very first off.
Where the hell did Sweet Tooth and Stu come from?
Because all of a sudden they were just on the ice.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
Which Raven come from. Like they're just there too.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Yeah, they just like all of a sudden, everybody just
like randomly appears and we get it. Very fun. I
enjoyed it. I thought it was comical them trying to
get across the ice, like they were like slipping and
like crawling and couldn't make it.

Speaker 1 (41:51):
I love when Stu like went sliding like a penguin
and yep, over there, Yeah, got go, my little penguin.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
I enjoyed this, but because yes, because of the Preacher baby.
But what I also enjoyed about that this was a
very pro wrestling thing, which is like walking across ice
actually isn't that hard. It's not, it's not. But like
in one of my favorite things, one of my favorite

(42:22):
tropes of a ladder match is all of a sudden,
everybody forgets how to climb a ladder yep, and they
have to go super slow and it's painful and they're climbing.
That's what this felt like, was like, oh, because we're
now in this moment, we have forgotten how to walk
across ice, which I just I very much loved. I

(42:42):
thought it was very silly. But yeah, all of a
sudden the baby could kind of talk and knows how
to use a gun.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
Yeah, they so they slide the baby over because Stu
is getting ready to grab the ticket, and the baby's
got a gun and shoots stew in the shoulder, which
also sends the baby flying back again. Yea, it was,
It was great.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
It was very silly, uh and I and I very
much appreciated it, and uh yeah, just absurd. It was
so absurd, but yeah, so Sweetooth the Stude do end
up with this ticket, which obviously everybody else they go
running off getting looking looking for other ones.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
But so I do want to talk about Mayhem though
you know she is running around. She this is why
I think this scene right here is why I think
she is part of you know, being part of Calypso's
crew whatever, because a missile gets fired at her and

(43:52):
you're maybe led to believe that Chucky is the one
that fired at her, because she ends up at a
where a ticket is at and Chucky Flupe is there,
which she then ends up getting the ticket from and
killing him and all that. But his car was on
the other side, like the car was nowhere near where

(44:16):
that missile came from. So I think Calypso had somebody
or maybe himself an agent, fired the missile at her
to direct her toward a ticket so that she can
get passed into the next round.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
Yeah. Also I thought it was also interesting because she
looks at the ladder when she gets out. Yes, she
looks at the ladder and then it's like wait, and
then goes inside.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
Goes up, Yeah, goes up the stairs, not the ladder.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
Yeah, which I thought was interesting, which would apply, which
would lean into more of like she knows where is
already right because like nobody the only indication is like
these smoke like these these like uh like smoke flares
that are showing just the location of where they could

(45:11):
potentially be. Right Yep, so they they had like the
smoke flares up and stuff, but she knew to not
because like if I knew it was or if I
saw it on top of the building, yeah, my probably
my first thought would be to climb to the top
of the roof and see if it's up there. But
she looks at it and goes and then she goes inside,

(45:32):
which I thought was interesting. But then we get this
like moment where they are inside and she's never killed anybody.

Speaker 5 (45:42):
Before, which is possibly believable. I mean, it's it's interesting
because this the reaction that she's having in this moment
is genuine because there's nobody else around for her to trick,
ex except for except for us, right, yeah, but she

(46:03):
does have this like visceral like reaction of like, holy shit,
I just killed this dude because she shoots him.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
She shot him, or push.

Speaker 1 (46:11):
She kicked him. She kicked him. She slaps him with
the hand that's holding the ticket.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
Yes, every every ticket has like a separate hand holding.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
Great.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
I thought it was fun.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
And then he does but he does say something about weight,
so like he I don't know if he was going
to say something maybe maybe he was also working for for,
which is very possible, like he's trying to get her
to stop. But then yeah, he she kicks him out
the window and he goes flying out smashes into her car,

(46:44):
essentially destroying it. And then she gets down there and yeah,
she's got that. She's got that uh freaked out look
of like oh my god, I just killed a guy.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
Mm hm, which I thought was super interesting.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
Yeah, she gets down there, grabs his keys and goes
basically hijacks his car. And the other thing that really
gets me is she doesn't know how to drive a
stick which, don't get me wrong, like sticks aren't the
easiest to drive. I mean no, I've you know, it

(47:25):
took me a minute when I I had a stick
shift for a little bit, and it took me a
while to to learn how to drive it. So I
somebody who doesn't know how to drive a stick shift,
I gotta use their quotes there because I definitely think
she didn't know how to drive it, because when the
car took over, it actually did yeah, yeah, yeah did

(47:48):
Yeah the AI feature that took over, it actually did
shift into gear because she didn't shift in the gear.
It was definitely revving probably the first gear more than
it should those yep.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
I I thought it was interesting because this kind of
plays into like the character of Specter, which I believe
the whole point of Spector was that the car was
possessed by a ghost oh and would take control of
the driver and everyone's everyone kind of has changed, kind
of has changed, like the driver a little bit, but

(48:20):
like that's kind of the overall story of like Spector
as a driver is that the car is actually possessed
by the ghost.

Speaker 1 (48:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
So I thought that was kind of interesting that, like
essentially it's a you know, an AI feature that they
have very fun, very silly.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
Yeah, I think this. I'm wondering because this is technically
her third car already. Yeah, I wondering if this will
be this will be the car that she keeps for
the rest of the show, or she'll get a new
car in the next episode, because you know, she's gotten
a new car literally every time she's driven, right.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
Which is interesting because the car has never been called me.
She has called herself me, yes, right, which I thought
is very interesting. But there is a Mayhem car. Having
gone back and played them again, Mayhem is a car
and is white. So it was funny because she essentially
had her car and then got it destroyed.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
Yeah. Well ye, and then I want to talk about
Sweetooth and fishing. And this is why I find interesting
because what we what we get is as they get
rid of across the finish line, mister Grimm comes driving
up and hops into the back of their ice cream

(49:41):
truck and essentially crosses the line with them to skip
getting killed.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
Like yeah, because he's inside a vehicle that has the tag.

Speaker 1 (49:57):
But here's the thing, the people who like, I'm looking
at the list of people who quote unquote have tickets. Yeah,
and it's it's Raven Hammerhead, David Mike Ye Furman, Axel,
Sweet Tooth, Street Tooth, and Stu Mayhem, John Quiet Roadkill

(50:24):
and mister Grimm. That's eight. So like he didn't need
to do that. I think he did that out of arrogance,
just to piste off no interesting sweet Tooth hmm maybe,
which is I mean, if he did that, bravo to
him because he's he's literally getting on his sweet Tooth skin,

(50:47):
which is something he's you know, really good at doing.

Speaker 2 (50:52):
Yeah, it's interesting because like the plot would imply, like
the that that scene would imply that Grim didn't have
attack correct, and that's and jumps into the back to
get him through. We didn't miss.

Speaker 1 (51:06):
Anybody, because that's the whole The holy Men die, they
get killed off, Roster died, Ross Bye. I don't see
her like she didn't. She was not listed in in
the on Wikipedia and I didn't see her. When when
Stu points out too to Sweet Tooth, all the people

(51:32):
who had already crossed the finish line.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
So maybe bo we got an end right because they
finally crossed because Roadkill finally crosses. Yes, and and they're
indicating that they're the last ones.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
Correct again.

Speaker 2 (51:49):
Interesting, Okay, so I.

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Don't We'll have to see next episode exactly who all
have finished. But because in that if that's the case,
then we have nine people, yeah, nine vehicles, which I
mean it could get easily get eliminated down to the
next six or however many.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
Yeah, and they never make a reference. Yeah, they never
make a reference to frost by being an eliminatedor anthwer this.
So maybe in the next episode they'll they'll be like,
you know, Grim, Grim got around it. But maybe that's
may it'll just show that she has a tag, because
technically it just says that the tag gets you across

(52:37):
the gates.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
You need you need to.

Speaker 2 (52:39):
Have the tag right across to get across. But only
eight people can ent you know, can make it to
the next round.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
Hmmm.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
So maybe despite the fact that Grim is crossed, that's
the eight people. So now the tag won't work, and
we see a scene where frost Bike gets one. To
be fair, have we even seen frost Bite's vehicle. Actually,
I like Frostbite kind of. It just seems to always

(53:12):
be there, but we have yet to I don't remember
seeing her vehicle at all.

Speaker 1 (53:16):
Yeah, she was basically in the one up in episode
six and seven. That's yeah, these two episodes, and that's
really it.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
Yeah, we haven't seen I don't remember ever seeing her vehicle.
But maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

Speaker 1 (53:30):
I mean, yeah, I really wasn't either. She wasn't the focus,
so I wasn't.

Speaker 2 (53:34):
Yeah, so maybe she'll have just come out of nowhere.

Speaker 1 (53:37):
That's possible. But let's see what else do we have. So, yeah,
we get we talked about Jon and Quiet, so they
do cross. They go up against the holy Men at
one point they're actually having a fist fight to get
the last ticket yep. And one of them gets the

(53:59):
the boomerang from from John and they use it to
against roadkill and it comes back and kills them, which
is which was great.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
Which is very funny. Yes, uh, but the baby, the
preacher baby, somehow survives it.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
Yep. How who knows. I often did find it funny
when they asked the preacher what to do, and the
preachers like killed them like, okay, sure, what the hell?
But yeah, Also, the preacher would not let go of
the ticket, so they essentially grabbed the baby up.

Speaker 2 (54:36):
Yep, the baby is freakishly strong.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
I was like, all right, we'll just take the baby.

Speaker 1 (54:43):
Yeh. Yeah. So they hand the baby off to Calypso
with the cross. Mayhem comes up and is talking to
Quiet about her first kill. It's very like her first time.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
Yeah, very like she lost her virginity talk.

Speaker 1 (54:59):
Yeah, yeah, okay, whatever, I think what you gonna do here?
But whatever.

Speaker 2 (55:03):
It was, it was fine. I just don't think the
joke landed. But it also it also looks like they
both were like uncomfortable with doing the scene almost yeah
or yeah something. Yeah, it was very strange.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Yeah. But then after that we get Quiet coming back
to the room talking to John, and John admits that
he lied to Quiet. M do you think he'll actually
tell her about the wish?

Speaker 2 (55:30):
No?

Speaker 1 (55:31):
You think will?

Speaker 2 (55:32):
No, I don't think it will. I think because he
saw her reaction to like the lying aspect of it,
and I think now he will be too afraid to
tell her.

Speaker 1 (55:44):
Interesting, Yeah, I see, I think he might. I think
he might only because if he doesn't and it comes
up later, which I mean it will come up later
when Calypso brings it up, it'll be worse for him.
But I mean, this is a fun show about drama
when the drama needs to happen. So yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (56:10):
Yeah, yeah, I'm sticking with it.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
I have fun. This is a fun show.

Speaker 2 (56:15):
Yeah yeah, this is a perfect lunch break show. Watch
this on your lunch break when the episode drops, and
it's it's fun. It's you know, I think I think
maybe I said it last last episode or two episodes ago.
Not every show needs to be this like commentary make
you think. Sometimes you can just have a nice little

(56:38):
brain rot show and this is a fun little brain
rot show.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
Yeah yeah, you could.

Speaker 2 (56:44):
You could just have a show be silly, like it
doesn't have to make you think about like what are
they trying to tell here? What? What more is it
supposed to be? It could just be a silly little
political show about you know, class warfare and just you know,
fun violence. That's all it's gotta be. Yeah, I mean,

(57:05):
it's it's good fun violence. It's good vehicular violence. And
I was not able to go to the demolition derby
at the County Fair this year because it was sold out,
So this is the only thing I'm getting. Sorry, I
was so I didn't know they were gonna sell out,
but apparently they like sold out and tickets like immediately.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
Damn. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (57:26):
There's nothing I love more joey than rednecks strapping up
buicks and running. They don't even got back tires on.
They're like, man, I got fron wheel drove. I don't
need back tires.

Speaker 1 (57:35):
Fuck it.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
And they're just driving buicks into each other.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
Man.

Speaker 2 (57:40):
I genuinely heard a conversation between two guys that were
just like, yeah, I don't know how much longer the
demolition derbys are gonna go because we're running out of
cars because they just don't they don't make them. They
don't make a strong framed buicks anymore, and everything's fiberglass
and getting the shit kicked out of it, and it's

(58:00):
just they don't.

Speaker 1 (58:00):
They don't run it anymore. You're run I my inde,
my daughter's grandfather, he used to He used to do
demolition derby, you know, back in the day before he passed,
and I would go watch it. It was fun. He
was He would build the cars. He didn't run him.

(58:23):
He did have somebody else run him. Yea, he was.
It was pretty good. That was pretty fun to watch.
That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
Yeah, uh real quick because because it's the craziest story
I ever heard. Last year, a kid, I mean just
like had just gotten his license and stuff entered the
demo derby somehow drove full speed into one of like
a Jersey barricade that they had set up, drove into it.
I fell over on a guy pinned his leg and
he had to have his leg amputated. Ship and he

(58:53):
was like he was one of like the officials, like
you know, like you know guys with the flash stuff. Yeah,
got his leg pinned, had his leg amputated, and was
back this year as one of the officials doing the
same fucking job that he'd lost his leg in. If
that is not the most red guest you've ever heard,
man ah man, I just I love it's Yeah. Good

(59:17):
shout out to that dude for not learning his lesson.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
Well, since they can't find you at the Redneck Show,
where can they find you at Chuck?

Speaker 2 (59:24):

rundown feed do a lot show. We like to call
getting franchise the latest and greatest in movie franchises. Or hey,

of all the horror movies. Season one is almost over

(59:46):
and we have done crazy amount of the latest and
greatest in horror movie franchises, and we're gearing up for
season two, which is gonna be even sillier. I can
only describe.

Speaker 1 (59:58):
I see the list, Yeah, it's change. I listen.

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
I don't know because I've found some other stuff that
I thought would fit really well. So we'll see what happens.
But as we're hearing up, yeah, we just did House
on Haunted Hill. Uh was it is either about to
drop or did just dropp.

Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
Be dropping?

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
In a few weeks prior to that, we did Wen
the Poop, Blood and Honey and Pop by the Slayer Man,
which were these two really cheesy horror movies based off
of ips that fell under public domain, and one of
them was shot in my hometown U and hey, good
friend of the show Ron came on for that one,
so go check it out. Otherwise, you can find all

(01:00:43):
my miniature hobbying silliness where I'm gearing up for Halloween
by painting a bunch of horror movie related miniatures over
at kicked out of the hobby, No, we ain't kicked.

Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
Chuck. Thanks again for coming on. Always love to have
you on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
Always listen. I'm working my way in. I'll work my
way in the alliance. Chris is Chris won't even know
what happened. I'm like a parasite. I just get in
here and I cling on to your intestinal tracks and
you're never going to get rid of me. That's how
that works.

Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
Yeah, as long as I don't have to do editing,
that's you know, that's usually my that's my whole thing,
so you know, yeah, shout out to the other note.

Speaker 1 (01:01:26):
