Non spoilers thoughts. First off, I'll say it's funny. I
was talking to somebody at work about Peacemaker and I'm like, yeah,
show has been so great, and just because we've been
rounding out some previous shows like Alien Earth I totally
thought this was like the penultimate or the finale. Tonight.
I was like, show shows almost over completely wrong, which

I'm glad about because I actually quite enjoyed this episode.
I feel like there's been a lot of stuff of
like we've been leading up to it and just like
waiting for the potential car crash to happen. And although
the whole crash I feel like didn't completely happen here
there there's like there's some fender benders going on, and
it's it's getting messy, and I am kind of excited

to continue on this path. And I did like some
of the reveals in like the tense moments and just
kinda yeah, just just what happened here? Not all the
humor hit as much as it hit for me in
previous episodes, but uh, I think overall it's still really
really solid and definitely a show that I like, I
would recommend to people like if I'm just yeah, if

(04:31):
somebody asked me recommend show, definitely Peacemaker. I think it's
I think it's fantastic. Yeah, intro song is still like
I feel like week by week it's it's getting a
little bit better. I don't know, what it is. It's
just slow burning on me. But uh no, I I do.
I do like all the music in here and what
else to say? Uh oh yeah, I guess I'll well,

it's a spoiler, but I'd like the surprise that was
in here, So so that was kind of fun and
excited to talk about it.

So this episode was just a delight. I like how
things kind of accelerated a little bit here and it's
just kind of getting super super zany near the end
of the episode. But I think it was it was
a lot of fun. There's there's one scene in particular,
highlight in the spoiler portion where I'm sure James Gunn
was just salivating.

But I thought of you immediately, especially I thought it
was gonna go further.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Oh yeah, James Gunn for sure was just sitting in
the corner and you know, he didn't he wasn't saying cut.
He was just you know, he was just.

Who knows, he's on set. I don't know if he directed.

Oh he's on set for those scenes, absolutely, But if that's.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
It, what if that's in there, what if that's what
they're into? Taylor, No, King, shame, that's wrong. If they Yeah,
what if they gotta open relayship and there does That's
what I think they legitimately do realize. I also still
just think that Taylor's being a big deal this because
these people are artists and they probably met in multiple
situations where like hey, I'm dating this and she's like, yeah,
I gotta love scene today. Like that's just like kind
of the thing like that you do that in Hollywood.

I don't think everyone's just thinking that. But even then
that could be a situation tailor maybe they're just an
open road, you know.

An open road, and very well could be, very well
could be. But I think it's just it seems weird
when like, Okay, I'm gonna put my wife, who I'm
in an open relationship with in a mood or in
a show or a movie, I'm gonna pay I'm gonna
pay her to fuck other men.

He brings, like Sean Gunn.

Something that happened after he said cut when the cameras
stopping one.

He is not paying a little too far, I was
with you. He is not paying his wife to fuck men.
I take that back, very just she didn't even kiss
a man in this episode one and two to tease.
If they were open swingers or whatever, you would have
to pay the person, just like cool, this is what

we do like and again I will well have me
on the record. I think there's nothing weird. They're creating art.
It's probably because he trust John Cena that those scenes
are all good.

You know, Oh, we trust them, all right, Jes.

Anything else more about the episode, Uh.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
It was just it was a really fun episode and
when we got to the reveal of things, it was
really really well done. So I had a good time
with it. And we got a little bit of an emotional.

Weight baggage.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
I guess, I don't what you would call it, but
a little bit of like some emotional drama between two
characters that I feel like we haven't really seen before.

Emotional t bag.

Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
So it was good and then one one scenario that
I'm glad that it finally paid off because it kept
alluding to it and I had a really good fucking.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Time with it up until how it like it ended.
But I was like, I'm just eating all this up.
You know what I'm talking about?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
No, I don't actually, oh yeah, because there was multiple
reveals in this episode, so I don't know. I don't
know what you're talking about yet, so we'll we'll find.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Out the one you hope it's not is the one really?

Okay? I need it, I need I need to hear more.
I hear some more thoughts on this. Uh yeah, this,
This reminds me it's funny because we okay, so the
best way to say is not so. But then most
I'm sure most people that watched this episode listen to
have already seen there just waiting for spoils. I'll say,

(08:22):
we're all waiting for kind of the shoe to drop.
It reminds me a lot of WandaVision, where we all
knew something was up, but it was just the how,
the who, and the win right, but we knew, Kay,
something's off here, I will say, in the course of WandaVision,
though up leading to those that reveal I enjoy those
episodes more. And that's the same thing here. Where I've
been very mixed with this show so far, all over

(08:43):
humor story, it feels like this is because what we
have two more episodes so so six Like it's an
eight er, like I could have been classic Disney, plus
that I think you could have probably made this a
sixth episode thing in my opinion, like I walked away
and see until next week. But I think there's a
mulple of stories characters you could cut or just condensed.
But no, this was a good episode, some good reveals

(09:03):
and even then the big reveal. There's two, I guess
i'd say the big surprise, I was happy, but then
not happy with some the dialogue that was going on,
and then the bigger surprise. What we kind of thought
of the bigger reveal that I think it was well
done and I'm interested to see where it goes. But
as I was speaking about for weeks, I'm kind of
disappointing it because I feel like it gives our peacemaker

(09:25):
a very very easy out. It just points worads, It
points arrows to a road that's like, well, yeah, no dah,
he would do this right. So yeah, I think I
definitely enjoyed this episode a lot more than others, just
probably because some stuff actually happened in this some character interactions,
some things going on, like we said, some reveals and surprises,
a cliffhanger where I was like, oh man, I can't

(09:46):
wait to see what it's next, where sometimes I'm just
I forget that Peacemaker is on Thursday. I'm like, right,
Peacemaker's here now. I don't think I will next week,
so and I hope the week after I won't. So
I think this was a more positive episode for me
in a season that I've been pretty mixed on. There,
there's some good humor moments. Nothing to beat obviously last
week with the avoiding the sniper. That's gonna be uh,
that's gonna be a little bit there. But yeah, I

(10:09):
enjoyed it overall, even though I'm not like doing backflips
over because I still have some some issues and some again,
it's just like it's just like what we talked about
last Nay with Marble Zombies with some of the humor there.
It's just some some of the gunnisms in this where
I'm just like, ah, this could hit so much better
if he didn't do it like this in my opinion,
And it's weird because in Guardians he I feel like

he usually knows when to pull back. But uh, you know,
I digress talk about and spoilers, so anything else, all right,
We're gonna take her for a that break. If you've
not seen the episode, now's the time about because there
is lots of fun surprises to talk about. So after

we go further down this season, it's just like getting
more and more like revealing.

And just I think that's the bang scenes.

the Underworld series that we're gonna get.

Dangerous Method? You should watch Dangerous Method. There's like a
two minute scene here Fasten or just spanks and should
like Cure Nightly and like she's legitimly.

You know, literally she's in bed with a bral, he's
laying beside her the shirt off. He would be no
different if you're at the beach sitting beside Emily, you're oh, yes,

Scene, shower scene. You don't even know if they're together.
She's shot separately and he shot separately. There's a chance
I gonna film that too.

We know, we know you must be on set together.
But in a non joking way to start there, though,
that is I wonder if that's going to be something
that breaks up prime hardcore and peacemaker, because I think
it's different when you get there and you're like, oh,
you know, like I fancy girl. But I wonder if
she's gonna care that he's slept weather like. I wonder

if she's gonna find it kind of a little creepy,
right like I didn't.

But pretty disturbed when like when mentions her, it's like,

but she's not you. Because I guess it's kind of
all like I'm trying to find my path here, right,
but because the big reveal will get two more into
set in deaf Lador. But it's Earth X and DC
Earth X is. Yes, it's run by Nazis, that's what's happening. Literally,

the American flag has a Nazi symbol. That's my thing
where I wish it wasn't that for the because I've
said this a couple of weeks before. It's just it's
an easy decision for Peacemaker. He's friends with ads. He
took on Nazis last season, like the KKK. It's not
like a big jump that he's like, Okay, I'm gonna
go back there. Now, I think it would have been
I don't know what they could have done with this Earth,

(13:27):
but to me, I would have been more intrigued of Okay,
he does have this better life and he has to
find a way to leave it. But now it's like, yeah,
of course he'd leave this hardcourt even if he slept.
Whether she's like a neo Nazi, it's like, well, what's
he gonna do? So that's where it's like with the
whole like, oh, she's great, but she's not you. It's
just like, well, it doesn't matter because she's a Nazi now,
so of course it's not gonna happen. But I wonder
if they will use it as a thing of like, well,

(13:48):
you still like slept with her, and we're trying to
replace us in a sense, So I wonder if that
might be. That's my prediction of why a Prime hard
Court and Chris aren't together together at the end of
the season. I think there's gonna be some like friction
and still going on because he kind of just bounce
and and replaced her with like a different too.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Like when when she broke down and was kind of
opening up to him, Uh, what did he say? He's like, yeah,
my dad's here, my brother's here, and plus I like
the other version of you.

A little more or whatever. This is not to say
that I'm paraphrasing.

He's the quote is I like the other version. She's great.
But he did say, but she's not you, So he
did like preference that. But still it's like he seems okay,
he like like it's going well for him right now.
It wasn't. It wasn't so much that she wasn't Prime
Hardcourt where he's like, you know what, something's off, I
can't actually date this girl. Like they seem happy. Last
episode end with them about to kiss. They got it on,

so it seems like things are going well with him
and New Hardcore. You know.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yeah that scene though, when he's walking and obviously the
two heart courts are gonna bump into each other, and
he just he looks at the American flag and that's
something like after what you had told me prior to
this episode, I was keeping an eye for it now
specifically I'm looking out for when Harcourt was with the
brother was driving and like, oh she was looking I
was noticing it too, But yeah, just this episode.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Yes, it matches with that.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
But once he sees that little flag and like he
picks it up, man, just like ship like that those
kind of like little reveals, and it's just like a
terrible fucking setup, like, oh, this is the worst, one
of the worst things you could be in. It just
fucking it tickles my funny bone and.

Just well, it's worse for much other people. I think
Peacemaker Chris is gonna be okay, not like Ads is
getting fucking.

I should I feel bad for laughing at that scene,
but it fucking killed me laughing when there's just.

That line when the brother the brother got out and said,
I'm paraphrasing the show. There's another right racial like obnoxious,
like a bad term, but he just says one of
them got out. Period, all black and the horn. It
reminds me very much of the because I feel like

it is a serious thing, but I think Gun is
still playing that for last which I think is good.
Here it reminds me of the KKK Django right when
they have the whole hood discussion. It's coming off, but
just like when they drive by and all the scars
screeches and all the neighbors are like look over the
end of his poor at a barrow, It's just like,
what the fuck is going on? Yeah, kudos to her?

Yeah so no, So I agree it's a bad situation
for Chris, but not the worst situation for him. There's
other people that adds his enemy and number on Uno
because it's just like, I wonder next week if we
just pick up right away with our characters, if we're
gonna get like a mini origin of this world, and
because they help, so I would like that because like

as weird as it sounds. When he said one got out,
it's like, well, where are they keeping non white people?
You know, it's not like it wasn't like playing the
old situation where people that are of a different race
or slaves or in a lower class they're literally just
not around. And then he said one got out, So
it's not like they've killed them, all right, It's not
like they decide, Okay, we're gonna distinguish anyone that's not white.

people that are not white are locked up somewhere where
I don't know, And that's why I kind of hope
they answer, or maybe they're in that for the future.
If Earth X is gonna play a bigger deal on
the stuff because it is from the comics.

he knows what's up to, right, because his other self
doesn't know.

That's what the Sons of Liberty is, right, because we
talked about that when it first happened that that group,
because Kirk and you were talking about that, that group felt
that they weren't purely bad guys. So now poor Peacemaker,
he's just killing all these people that were trying to
fight suppressed.

They were the good guys in this world and fits
because he's a screw up.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
So it just tracks with him, right, Yeah, it's gonna
be bad for him.

That that vigilante scene though. I just I ate that up.

When he's giggling, when he's unlocking the door into his room.
I was eating all that up and just him just
I thought for a second, oh, maybe this is this
vigilante is gonna be something different. But no, when they
just started giggling together and they're just like naming things off,
setting things off, best Pokemon furnay and all these other things,
I was eating every single piece of chicken out of
that bucket. It was so freaking good.

All right, let's move on here, as says says, I
thought at the very start when the kid asked for foe,
they were gonna throw up a salute. That's a good. Yeah,
that could have been a dead giveaway. But also they
want to weigh a little bit more for the reveal
due to like the nonsplorter section. So that's great. It's
a tiny bit hard to believe Chris spent all that
time there and got no hints of this until now.
So obviously that is the title. So I can combat

this is actually one of my issues. I can combat
this in three ways.

One, sure, he was just ignorant and he was just
like I think they're trying to look classic straight. It's
just all worried about himself not doing anything right. But
the second counter argument is we how long has he
actually been there though, right, because he was there at
first he popped in, he killed Peacemaker other peace maker,
and then he popped in for like a night or

I'd say twenty four hours, like a day, mate, not
even that, Like he popped in for a night, woke
in the morning, go to August talk, and there was
that fight. So I feel like he's there for a day,
and we don't know how long he's been since, like
since he went in last week episode, right, Like, like
I don't know he's been there obviously for a night
because he woke up on Hardcore's bed. So I get
your point, Mike, So I would say that maybe i'd

need more time, But then three. I think it's just
because with Harcourt and the other people, they're going in
there to get Chris and they're like, this world is
crazy to them, where with Peacemaker it is crazy. But
he's emostally compromised because he's seeing his brother, he's seeing
his dad, the woman he loves loves him back. So
that's the thing where I think if he just got

(20:57):
plopped in a different multiverse and knows people are there,
I think he could sus it out or even reflag too.
Refley Junior's there, I think he could suss it up.
But because he's in this world where all these emotions
are going on right now, he's not even thinking about
all the other stuff going on in this world. He's
just happy that, oh all these people are here. Granted
I guess yeah, like maybe you're driving by, you would assume,

like I don't know, most cop shops here like have
like the Canadian flag, so you would assume the American
flag would be on August and that the flag would
be there, right. So to Mike's point, yeah, I could
see that it being a little bit of an issue
of like, hey, you know what, why did you not
see anything? And then finally asked me, says August one
of the report for Kaiju seemed like it could only
have been a day or a few days. So that's

where to me, it's like, if it's been if it's
been forty eight hours in total, I can cut him
some slack. I think when you once you start to
get into like the four day territory, like a workday week.

I think that's what it is though, right, because like
he was like texting Amelia like that version, and then
it's like can we talk? And then they progress now
they're like fully dating their showering together. Like that's a
couple of days. I well, since like the first time
he went in there and killed the other peacemaker.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
No, I meant though, how much times he spent in there.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
A lotted right, actual? Just yeah, game time.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Like you can play Man in twenty six but that's
not every day, right, It's like yet your game time,
That's what I'm saying. What's his earth X time? You know,
That's what I'd like to see firm somewhere.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Definitely one or two nights.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Absolutely, it's definitely at least forty eight hours I think
in total.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
So yeah, yeah, I think the flag is a hard
one to kind of hide, whereas like if he's actually
just so ignorant to anything or just like so he's
got his blinders on because he's just looking at this Amelia,
He's yeah, he's not focusing like our people in the world.
But uh yeah, because because like Amelia didn't notice instantly.

But all right, I guess our hardcourt noticed immediately. But
as you pointed out, Chris was very emotionally compromised, so
I can kind of buy it. I don't know. I'm

learned at the end of Supman that Lex Luthor's there,
and lo and behold, that's what happens. We see some
people walking or we see him walking. He's shrouded. He's

got can right now, so I guess he's still recovering
from that attack from Crypto and he sits down. It
says he's been sentenced to like five hundred and sixty
life sentences in prison. So that was a quick trial,
you know. They say it's only a few months after
Suman that try would take Fuck, he's a trillionaire. That
trial would take years. It would take years, but you
know already that's fine whatever. I don't I don't know

how I feel about the scene, because what's super odd
to me is James Gunn wrote and directed Superman. He
wrote and produced and directed episodes of this. I don't
think he directed this episode. To me, At times, this
Lex did not feel like that Lex that James Gunn
wrote himself. When I really and people might think I'm

they're gonna do suicide Squad, but Rick Flegg was doing
some sort of like All Your Redemption, which we already

talked about too, right like Superman set that up. Rick
Flag's setting up now supposedly Man of Tomorrow's about them
partnering up. So the question is is Lexuther actually gonna
redeem or is he just to use his way to
get at prison and then you know, fuck off and
be a bigger villain. We'll have to find out. So
I liked the what the scenes leading to, and it's
great to have hold there. It's great. You know, we
lived in a world in the DC universe before where

no connection whatsoever, so it's cool to have Hey, he
was just in Superman and a few months later you
can already seem Lex Luthor and that's the same arc
and it's going somewhere, So that's all great. I think
some of the lines that Gun had ridden for him
were not really working for me. He just didn't feel
exactly like Lex, even though I know he's in prison
so he's probably calmed down a little bit. I just
felt like it was going to be like, well, we
can have some radar phone with Lex. Now. It's like, like,

this is just what worries me about, fucking like Batman
appearing in Peacemaker, you know, like this is why I'm
so just my hands are like just together in a
prey motion of this is why I want Matt Reeves
and Rober Passon to be separate because I would not
want Rob Passon in this show dropping lines like this.
You know, I really don't want it if that's separate

and he has his own Batman, sure, still not gonna
like it. But yeah, so something's about the scene just
didn't work for me. But overall it's a good scene.

I did not see that coming whatsoever, And so when
he sat down, I thought, Okay, this is really cool.

would love it if TV shows kind of embraced that

larger IP or larger franchise, you know, instead of just
trying to really well establish themselves, I understand, but not
be afraid to kind of pull something heavy in like
that that makes sense for the story and furthers the
story along.

found out that people just didn't tune into those things, right, Like,
obviously everything happened that happened, right, But when they introduced
King and Loki, that was a massive deal. Remember we're like, man,

I would hope that they'd be smart enough Man Tomorrow
