Speaker 1 (00:00):
M hm, get out of the fakes, get out of the faces.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Times, get off the face. Why did that happen? Loo?
You had it on loop, you fucker.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
You didn't know the intro would loop, but you had
the VIN set the loop so.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Thatop were you literally just were you really just watching
in the Contino conversations just entrance on loop?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
I was, I was, I was enjoying it.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Someone's mike, which one the old one or the new one?
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Which one's the old one? Which one's the new one,
the new one, the.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
New one and the old the new one is the
old one?
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Because I was watching U the volume two CC Volume two,
that's what it was listed as.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, yeah, I like that one. I don't know that
that's just some weird shit. You're just sitting here watching
the introt to your own show over again again. But
you know what that's Uh, I guess that's what Taylor
does here this Wednesday. Yeah, I guess so so sorry
for the the double repeat there, ladies, gentlemen, but yeah,
we're here a little impromptu. A newscast was on the schedule,
But those other top tens, don't worry, those are coming,
(01:51):
uh in the next week or so. But yeah, lots
of news, lots of other stuff to do, some trivia stuff.
So okay, we're gonna put some news, good stuff. This
will be the last kind of technically the last cast
until GV Day, which if you don't know, you should
know by now about August ninth, going ten am to
ten No, No, ten am to eight pm. It's going
ten hours. I mean a second, give you just a
(02:11):
quick rundown everything we're doing, and then I'm going to
give you our stretch goal stuff like that. But this
is the last episode because, uh, because Tate. I'm not
gonna reveal why, but because Taylor had to push our
weapons review a day. Unless they are you willing to
put that on air? Taylor just put it on there.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
He doesn't have to say you can't you can I can't.
I can't particularly say it, but someone else can say it.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Why can't I don't know it. So Taylor has this
bad has his bad habit. I don't know when. I
I think I think it's since Seteene was born. Perhaps
I think that's right A day before like recording filming.
That's when he comes with all things gonna change. I
(02:55):
remember time when we were filming a move.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
How dare you become?
Speaker 2 (02:58):
It shifted, though Kirkle will kind of be a little
like I feel like you're like, oh, make it work,
you do. I remember there was the last one of
the last days we were shooting Adrenochrome. There's like, okay,
we moved this filming earlier and he's like, I gotta
be either by noon and we're like okay, like it
didn't really work for Kirkland, but okay, we'll be there.
It was like ten a m. Me and Kirkla there waiting.
It's ten forty five. This guy's nowhere and he needs
to be out of there by noon. So this and
(03:21):
then same thing today he's like, oh my god, I
forgot my wedding nd of his versary, so bad husband
right now. So he had to push the weapons review
because it's just me, because Dylan, you're not seeing weapons
right No, No, we didn't think so, yeah, Kirkland's on,
so just me and Taylor review. So we gotta do that.
We gotta push dexter so that we're gonna start reving
at nine to thirty pm on the night before GV Day.
(03:42):
He's like, oh, I'll do the uploads, don't worry. But
you know what, but yeah, so that's.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Why twenty four hours stream come on.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
It's only Yeah, I guess it could be if they
wanted to, if they crew it's ten am. Yeah, so
if you wanted to.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Be inflicted upon us, if the fans.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Hey yeah, that's Emily's biggest concerns. What happens that he
keeps going. It's like, well, if the people wants the
people us, because that's what you can do. So anyways,
this is the last episode. You're gonna get Weapons Review
and Dexter the same day as the ten hour stream,
so you can yeah, yeah, geek us everywhere, in your ears,
in your face, wherever you want it. But uh yeah,
head over August night. I'll stop saying that's like a
(04:18):
day or two away. Uh there will be like a
I'll release like a five minute like here's the schedule
in case anyone miss that usually do but uh yeah,
we're going ten hours or are you guys ready? We're
about to be a decade old double digits and just
a few days here. Scary they're not ready, they're not.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
I'm registered that part of it, that it's been a
decade of.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Just we just starting the podcast.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
What did we just start this but not not geek
Us overall, there's.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
Gonna be a point in time, hopefully that we've been
podcasting longer than we haven't been in our lives.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
That's gonna be a big one. I I was just
gonna say, I mean, I turned thirty in July and
now it's a tenure of geek First. That's like an
exact third in my life.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Happy three Oh, Dylan, welcome us.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
It's ago Little Taylor first week weekend July.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
That's okay, but yeah, so we're gonna be doing that.
It's gonna be tons of celebration. At least ten hours.
There's about an hour's worth, maybe a little bit more
of content from the past, so it's tributes, announcements, uh,
messages from guests and everything like that. Yeah, you're gonna
get events, You're gonna get voices from past guests. You're
gonna get nice in depth interviews with all of us.
(05:27):
I think I've said this before, but all of them
are in clips. But then either the Sunday or Monday,
you're gonna get the full I put all our interviews
together as an audio episode so you can listen to
it all unfiltered. Yeah, so you get everything.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
There and filtered. We're just shit talking each other.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
No, it's not, it's literally the whole thing. It's just
put together because there's some tailor.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Oh, I just let you guys find we record it.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
You can't do this, but no, because there's some stuff
I'm making the video. It's like the full quote doesn't
work if there's a lot of like likes or ums
or this and that. So I just I take the
sound bites.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Makes the videos look goods Oh, I can name.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Someone, probably me because I went an hour and a half.
So I went way too long.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
When I say, ye, solo video.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yeah, for the solo video. Yeah, it was all in increment,
so like ten minutes till like twenty five. Krikland like
forty five. I was like an hour and a half.
So I don't know what was going on. But you're
gonna get.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Like two Well, did anyone do two parts? My only
one that did two parts also fucked up. Here's a
little he did.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
He did the editor.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Here's a little preview of this Saturday because I wanted
to like talk we all talk about this. There's a
whole there's two segments. There's one segment that's all about
spinoff and guests, so everybody has been around, so we
all talk about them, et cetera, or you know vice
like everyone talks about certain things more than others, like
you know, Kirkland tries to remember everyone's name and the alliance.
I didn't add that in there, but that was great.
(06:49):
So anyways, so there's other segments where I have made
videos for all four of us, just some little highlights
of you know Tras, Dylan, Taylor, and Kirkland that we
multiple people said four horsemen versus the Core Force. So
that's good, right. So I do all these videos, and
that was the last question. I gave these guys a
set of questions to answer, so I'd be like, hey,
these are gonna be the videos I make, and I
put these in the bites and whatnot. Everybody did it well,
(07:11):
except when I get to Taylor. He does all the questions,
and then when it gets to the part to say
stuff about us, he just completely goes to, man, it's
been ten years, been great and he starts going on
his ending. He didn't talk about me, he didn't have
about about Kirkland. So as of editing these videos, I'm like,
I don't know, you might want to put in another
part here because you just look like a dick who
has nothing to say good about any of us. He's
(07:31):
like okay, and then you know, so we got that
going on there. So yeah, it's been I'm very excited.
I've said this before the cast, but arm is literally
the shoulder is so fucked from going like this for
so long with the mouse. Yeah, I'm very old, I do.
That's the best video of technique. That's how we've won
seven film awards still in a film festivals as the
mouse holding editing technique. But no, I'm very ready for them.
(07:54):
They're all looking good. They're all pretty much ready to go.
I gotta be some final renders on some stuff. Come on,
I'm talking here to do some found renders on some stuff.
But yeah, it's gonna be a good day. So a
quickly round off. We're going for ten am. So what's
gonna be is opening ceremonies. I don't want to say
what that is. It's a fun thing, so look out
for that. Then right aft directly following that is the
match myself and tyror Field versus Kirkland and Kyle and
(08:16):
a tag team I quit match commentated by Dylan and
Connor once again, Kirkland, You're ready? Are you ready? Are
you ready? With Kyle? It's his first match? Is he
a little nervousy thing? The little bitch boy over there?
Speaker 5 (08:29):
I mean all I all I know is what I
can do, and I feel like he's a very I
don't really think of Kyle as a wild card, which
I think is a good thing because you want to
have someone that, like, you know, I don't want to
be surprised by anything, and I feel like Kyle doesn't
want to surprise.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Me personally when it comes to a wrestling match.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
So yeah, hopefully it works out for me and I
guess my compatriot that'll be Kyle Smith on that day.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
But yeah, you better watch out son.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
I'm well, I'm pretty much ready as long as TA
doesn't turn on me for the eighteenth hundred said your
shoulders fucked, So that is my shoulder. There's another injury
of mine that gets publicly released a little bit coming
up too soon in the video, so uh look out
for that. It's somewhere I've watched the video. They talk
about my injury, so it's like, okay, people know you'll
know I'm going in an injured man. So right after that,
(09:24):
I think all that stuff kind of finishes around ten thirty.
You guys still gonna be there at ten am because
we'll be setting up everything like that, and I don't trust,
especially Kirkling come from the west side to hit that
ten but uh.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Ten thirty, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Yeah, I need to due. Yeah, I thought for sure,
Oh man, I can't make the stream. Can we move
in another day? Can we do this? But what are
we looking? And then so right after that around and
this is all in PST time, around ten am ps
or sorry, around ten thirty pm PSD will be the
Golden Gigs nineteen ninety four. We've all watched a bunch
of those movies. We're gonna break it down as usual,
(09:59):
best visuals, actor, act, just film, et cetera. I've started
to make some of my lists, but I haven't dived
too deep into it. And then at twelve thirty, which
we're gonna do in just a second, here is good
and these are all like rough times, we're gonna try
and hit them because obviously it's a little the videos
be sprinkled throughout. I'll say at least the twelve thirty
if for your patrons, twelve thirty to two thirty the
(10:19):
trivia with the patrons and myself, dyl musleying team. I'm
leading team Dylan's team one last year, trying to tie
it up here. That will be for sure. Twelve thirty
if gold Geeks is going long, we'll take a break
and finish off after because obviously there's other people calling in,
so I don't want to push you guys in gal
So twelve thirty PMPSC that will for sure be trivia.
Uh Taylor's hosting. That's just a wild card. And then
(10:40):
around three to about four thirty, we're gonna try and
do a cast on a fun location, gonna see if
we can pull it off. I'm gonna test it out
this Friday. We're gonna do like a couple's quiz. I
got this Couple's Quiz Meanaumily for Christmas, like a year
or two a go. Never opened it, but I looked up.
It even has like big paddles and stuff. So we'll
break up in random teams and we'll see who uh
who knows each other. Kind of the throwback We did
that to our very first anniversary stream, just asking questions
(11:02):
of a past ten years. You know, I don't think
it's anything wrong to here anything but and then five
pm will be geek Verses, which is just a bunch
of random characters that have been thrown in there. I mean,
you've sent you guys a list. There's people putting some
wild suggestions this year, so we'll go for that, and
then hopefully six thirty to seven we're gonna be doing
some gaming with It's Mario Kart whatnot? If that go.
(11:22):
If our stream's going long, then it might have get
pushed or you know, you can make the stream go longer.
You can either subscribe to Patreon, you can up your tier,
or send a super chat. Here's the increments, and here's
my last thing. One dollars worth five minutes, five dollars
worth ten minutes, ten dollars worth fifteen minutes, and fifteen
dollars worth twenty five minutes, the same thing as last year.
Are stretch goals. Right now, if my fucking note, are
(11:45):
you fucked? Come on now? What what is this? What
is this? My notes just like turned against me. Wouldn't
show me the bottom our stretch goals. If we do
thirty four more minutes, we'll finish off geek verses because
we'll definitely not get through that list for just the hour,
So like we did last year, if we go long,
we'll do that. If we go an hour more, we'll
release our very early teaser for the third movie. I
(12:08):
have edited. I don't like putting it out there, but
it is out there. It's not even fully colored grade
or anything like that. But just to give you an idea,
if we go an hour and a half, we're gonna
do a movie night that the patrons get to choose
the movie. And then if we go two hours, we'll
do a retrospective that the fans will pick for this
for twenty sixteen or twenty sorry, twenty twenty six not
this year, got that booked up, but some sort of
(12:29):
franchise the patrons will pick. So yeah, that's what you
can do. And on everything you do you support, whether
it's the patreons, chets, whatever, that's all gonna go towards
our content next year. So that's what we're doing. But
just join us. It's ten hours. It's gonna be our
end game. It's the the end. It's not the end,
but it's you know, it's the encapsulation of one era
of geek versa onto another, and I'm very excited to
see you guys in person have a good time. The
(12:49):
stream is gonna have many locations. We're gonna be doing
a patio pod here, getting downstairs. We might even be
a pool. We'll see, it's gonna be It's gonna be
a lot of on location this stream, So look out,
it's gonna be a very on time. So, uh, does
someone while we're talking about that want to pull up
a wheel so we can decide these names. So, of see,
Taylor is the host of this, so he is not playing.
(13:09):
Dylan and I are leading a team. So Kirkland is
an eligible member, so we'll see it happens there and
I will get everybody else that's joined this year. Super
Bad Mike God Loves Me sixty nine says he's gonna
redeem himself this year and be there, so we'll see he.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Could be on Dylan's team this year the way he
could be.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Yeah, I see wheels in your eyes over there.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
There you go, John with no age. That's just your
name now, John, So sorry, but that's what it is.
S Bubbs and Summer Hands the arc patron. So we
got one two, three, four, five, six, seven, lucky number seven.
So get it. One team's gonna be uneven. So how
we decide that should have sixteen? I think it ways
(13:53):
whoever should have God loves Me sixty nine because it's
a good chance they'll eaven it out.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Get one of the GA members over in hereone wants
to tap out.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I'm not just gonna tell them two days before. Hey,
get ready, son.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
You know it's in your contract. You gotta show up
or your cancel.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
I love that.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
I can't. I can't trying to remember who was down.
I think I had more people last year, if I'm
remembering correctly.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Was it because no matter what, for sure, because God
loves me abandoned me?
Speaker 4 (14:25):
If I if I had to say, maybe you can
have more people this year?
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Is I think the fact that you one should give
Travis the extra man advantage this year.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
It could be a disadvantage.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
It could be a disadvantage.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
Ampack of smart people, you know.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
But no below Kirklan, do the wheel, do the wheel,
decide who the order first. Let's do that, Let's keep
it fair, let's keep it even, but just Dylan Travis
and then whoever gets picked first, that will be we're
doing teams. There. There you go.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
You say Taylor as well?
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Did I?
Speaker 4 (14:52):
You said Dylan Taylor Travis?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Sorry, no, don't put Taylor on there. That'd be begainst
the rules. Okay, it was for who's going for first? Oh,
it's close, okay, sodyl Muss.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
Getting that means I get more people, then you get
more people.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Okay, right now, numbers. Okay, the name your own name?
Super bad? Mike, tell me if I'm going too fast?
Is he even typing?
Speaker 4 (15:17):
He looks like he's a little No, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
You gotta put the names on the wheel to see
who can do. Okay, how do you think we're doing here?
Speaker 4 (15:30):
I don't know what your name?
Speaker 2 (15:32):
What the fuck am I doing here?
Speaker 4 (15:34):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (15:35):
I got super bad, Mic, I got myself calls me
sixty nine.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
You have to type every word, Charlie, don't forget the
sixteen John? No h John?
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (15:48):
I put an h Sorry John?
Speaker 6 (15:50):
See as bubbs as bubs and summer hansyum.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
So we spined this is the first members.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
Carl wasn't Carl my team last year? And I Carl,
I think got April on my team.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
People, Well, April. April and Clay both want to, but
they're both busy. I think April's that town and Carl both.
He was like yeah. He didn't say be there, but
he seemed like, oh, if you're missing people, let me know.
Oh he's camping. He's camping. He did say he'd send
a video. Didn't happen. A lot of people said they'd
send some videos. Didn't get as many of those as
as I've seen some. No, I've seen some, which is nice,
(16:26):
but it was a lot, yeah, for sure. And then like, okay,
so that that's fine, it's all good. What it's it's
not a paid gig, so all right, spin that wheel.
Let's see it was on whose team?
Speaker 4 (16:37):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Okay, first member.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Of team Dylan, Oh my god, good good.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
I don't want on me, buddy, you better on me.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
But see this is fair now because you have the
extra person. If they flake again, then you're we're even,
you know, But yeah, so's he's not going to flake
sixty nine. I love you your great presence, but after
last year, you know it's spin the wheel. But after
last year you know that I can't I can't trust you.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
I can't sing even more if he's on my team
and we win again.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Absolutely yeah, absolutely yeah, John and no Age good John
n H. So we're gonna have a good chemistry going
on there. So yeah, the rapid part of the NFL draft.
You know, we're talking all the time.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
It looks like I'm getting Charlie with an.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Ah Charlie and yep that's.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Taylor I am.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
I'm logging it.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Oh okay, I got it too, just in case we
don't have those.
Speaker 4 (17:37):
So I'll trust Taylor, not Travis.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Mich I'll take the fellow Canadian. Yeah. I gave Wicked
a three point five of five, so I feel like
we've got good vibes going on.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
We're getting wickted questions.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I don't know. I guess we got to ask here.
He hasn't told us last year we had the team
going on.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
I'll answer questions after this.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
My gimmick partner. There s bubb Is on Timmy Dylan Bastard.
That's fine. Movie goer. Okay, please give me Summer. I
don't want Kirkle. Please give me guy. Please come on.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
I'm gonna sabotage you now for that.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
We're gonna do battle matcher there. Who knows to me,
Kirkland even make it extreame. But okay, well there you go.
Kirkland is on my team, and then Summer Handsy again
that last spin is on Dylan's team right there. All right, yeah,
we got some good people here. So team Dylan is
God allows Me sixty nine, Charlie Randale, s Bubbs and
Summer Hansy and my team is myself, John Win no Age,
(18:37):
super Bad Mike, and Kirkland.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Patsy Sakes, you're dead to me?
Speaker 2 (18:45):
All right? There is there a theme? First said Trivia
this year. Oh he's done. Any questions?
Speaker 3 (18:55):
I got no questions? I I uh theme? I mean,
how can I really break down a theme? I's there's
some TV shows, there's some very.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Easy Last year we did and Next ninety seven theme.
The year before we did a Barber theme for Actual Life.
Like it's a very easy thing to say with that.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
This is definitely not like, if you're expecting only X
Men ninety seven questions, you're not going to get that. No,
this theme encompasses many franchises.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
The year twelve specifically, is what you're telling.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
No, no, no, Now, are there like one or two
nineteen ninety four center questions in here, Yes, because that's
what we went with the Golden Geeks. I thought that's fitting.
But the majority of all the other questions are just
random ones from different franchises that we're familiar with.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
If you're on my team, I want you to watch
every movie from nineteen ninety four in the next two
days here.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
So no theme, there's.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
There's Yeah, there's not really any theme. There's a couple
of things that are like curveball questions, but I'm also
looking at adding I've added two new like lifelines. Yeah,
so all the original ones from the past are coming back,
and there's two new ones in here that I'm hoping
kind of change the dynamic a little bit.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Was Loves Me sixteen?
Speaker 3 (20:06):
No, you can you can exchange teammates.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
No, No, I'm happy with my team. I'm happy my team. Nobody. Okay,
So no theme, new lifelines, questions.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
You know, having a good time, any other inquiries, questions, concerns.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
No, I'm just captivated by the background in Travis right now.
That sunset that you got, good, God damn enjoying it.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Because another month or I mean a month and a
month and a half, you know, start a little cold.
So the winter time I'll do one cast. I'll do one.
I will I'll do one cast in the winter. Jesus,
we'll do like a short one of you. Yeah, it'd
be pretty funny, and you know there should be no cards,
especially with the stove coming down. They'd be looking good.
But you know what's looking good? Uh? This newscast we're
(20:52):
talking there. It's flowing everybody, the juice. The gas Lian
is in the streets for Aspire man for they're filming
one set. Photos are crazy popping off. But there's just rumors.
Every day there's stuff and they're all from my good sources.
So I think just because it's filming now, that stuff's
starting to kind of, you know, float to the top.
We're gonna talk about some Star Wars stuff because we've
got a big Cassie. And then we got some rumors
(21:13):
about what they're planning on doing with this. We don't
know the new trilogy, it's episode ten, whatever may be.
They kind of have some plants. And then we got
a whole bunch of trailers. But quickly, U we have
some patron questions too, But quickly, what have we been watching?
Because I know we got a couple Dylan's got a
big one. I got two big ones these, So we've
got some actual current stuff to talk about too. So
usually went on such a podcast, but we got some
(21:35):
current movies to talk about in shows. So, h Dylan,
I'll let you start off because I think you've seen
something that we've all been anticipating.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Yes, but I'll leave that one. We'll let the anticipation
build at for another day. Quick. Kid that I saw
this movie came out last is called D d id I.
It's a move. It's like a coming of age movie
about like a Taiwanese kid and his family. Like I
think it's like mom immigrated to America and yeah, just
a really great comingivator story. It's kind of set like
(22:02):
early two thousands, so a lot of it is very
nostalgic in a way, like this, the same kind of
conversations and like just really awkward moments. I feel like
are very relatable to me in a lot of ways.
You know, It's like him, this kid who's like flirting
for the first time, but he sucks at it. It's
like him like switching friend groups, trying to you know,
find the right people for him and making mistakes annoying
(22:23):
his sister, all this stuff. That was yeah, very very good.
So it's on Amazon. I highly recommend that one. I
wanted to ask you, has anyone seen Bring Her Back?
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Yet? The no that My goal next week is I'm
gonna just plow through so many new movies. There's so
many new movies that are even just streaming now, like I
open up Amazon, like it happened so quick. So no,
how was that?
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Well Kirkland Taylor, Have you guys jumped into that one?
That's the take take her Back? Take her Back? Was
the last one? Right? No? Take what the hell? Talk
to me?
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Take talk to him?
Speaker 4 (22:54):
Yeah, bring her back?
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Oh the hand the hand thing?
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Okay, yeah, hand hand thing director's new movie, bring Her Back. Sorry,
it could be it is. I don't know it is okay,
it's like us, so it could be. I really enjoyed
most of the movie, but god damn, it's a it's
a crazy third act that I just have so many
(23:18):
questions about. But just like I need some more things explained.
And there's a couple of plot points in the third
act that felt like a little too easy, I suppose. So, okay,
when Travis or anyone else watches it. I like, I'll
bring it up again because I I need to deliberate,
I need to talk about it. But for the most part,
I did really enjoy. Visuals are insane what you'd expect
(23:40):
for how good Talk to Me? Like just some of
the visuals they had there. They these directors and like
the yeah, just that trippy shots, weird camera angles that
you're not used to. All that stuff is really great.
The actors were all really great. There's like the two
kids I guess of the family in this are super
super good in there, and I've never seen them before
and anything, so I I'd recommend it. But yeah, it's
(24:01):
definitely definitely got some loose ends that are you know,
I'm not gonna get tied up anytime soon. Unfortunately, they'll
probably never be a sequel, so you just never gonna
know these things, so be prepared for that.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
If you're gonna same univers tho, so you never know.
Me the their one will tie back, even though I
think their next movie is the Talk to Me sequel,
I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Well, I if you're saying, sorry, no jokes like this
actually the same universe.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Yeah no, they said that. Yeah, I think someone I couldn't.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
I couldn't delay any tie to it.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
So I okay, I mean I think there's certain things
where if if I'm not mistaken in the movie, there's
like a website they use or something like that. Is
there a plot point of like a website or web browser. Well,
I guess at one point they made like the actual
website for the computer, and that thing had links to
like other things to talk to me and whatnot. So honestly, yeah,
I don't think it has It's not gonna do some
(24:48):
big connected thing. But I think they're just saying like, yeah,
it's this weird magic world, you know.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
So okay, So I'll bring that one back on a
future episode talk about a little bit more. And then yeah,
the last thing I've just I'm on my ninety ninety
four watching, So that's done. My list is complete, so
I'm ready to go. I only have like two more days.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
So did you see everything on that list?
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Everything that was on my list?
Speaker 3 (25:11):
I watched?
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Yeah, I got one more, but I'm watching that today
and tomorrow. I've seen it before though, it's just like
a refresher.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
So yeah, I was maybe last minute gonna I I
asked Kirkland if he'd seen I already forget the name.
There's a Hibilee movie that came out that year, and
I was like, oh, I feel like that'd be a
good opportunity to like talk about this. But he hasn't
seen it, and I don't know anyone who's seen. It's
a more low key one, so I don't. I don't
think i'll watch that one because I don't think it'll
make a dent or anything. But Okay, and then I
last night I saw F four. I saw Fantasy Again.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
You were a waiting finger on the pulse on that.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
And I could have set you up better for that. No,
And then I listened to your guys' review today, and
so yeah, I don't think I have like a hot
take by any means. I really loved the movie. I
thought it was really great. Theater was maybe not packed,
but like half capacity, which was, you know, pretty good
for I don't know, just a random Tuesday, I guess.
And like there was like an audience applause at the
(26:05):
end and hollering, like it was a pretty pretty jazzed crew.
I guess, what what do you guys? Should I avoid spoilers?
I should just like keep a brief, like what.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Yeah, you're fine, I say, like, if you don't want spoilers,
skip ahead five minutes. But I think most people have
seen it now or they should have, you know, go
you know, skip ahead and go see the movie. My God,
support the good MC movies. We got some stuff in there,
you know.
Speaker 4 (26:27):
Yeah, so I'll be I'll be brief, so I won't
really big spoil anything. But I think some of the
highlights for me. One, I think the origin that they
do here is really great, where it's like done through
like this newscast, so it's super quick but very thorough
at the same time, and I don't know, just gives
like a slightly different flavor of these characters. And I
think some of the stuff that happens, even in that
(26:47):
quick origin is pretty wild, which a lot of this
this movie is insane, Like some of the plot points
are absolutely crazy, the things that happened, a thing that
almost happens but doesn't quite happen, which would have been
wild if they went for it. But I love that
they are and I get into some of those realms.
The music I thought was amazing in this, and obviously
like the the retro futuristic that you guys talked about
I agree. I totally love that saying, and I hope
(27:08):
we get to see it again. I loved the use
of like random small villains in this, like almost in
like that montage highlight reel where it's like they defeated
Red bat Or. I don't know what the I don't
know what the ghost red ghost. Yes, I've never heard
of any of these characters.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
That's who John Malkovich was, and they cut them.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Okay, well, I mean he was technically in't there, right.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
He was, but we didn't see him. They made him
a lot of money to be obviously seen.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
I thought it was it was fun to just get
some weird freaks in there, Like I feel like for
the comic book super fans, that must be cool that
even just to get these random characters in there, even
if they're in there for just like a minute or two.
I So I didn't watch the log truck scene again
like you guys did on the cast, but I feel
like the baby to me surpasses log trucks.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
I think so too.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Yeah, horribleness, it was atrocious. It was like it really
really took me out of a lot of the emotional
moments of these which should be good emotional scenes or
even just heartwarming like cute little uncle scenes, but instead
they were just painted by this disgusting CGI baby.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
I think obviously wouldn't be an award, but I think
for the MC cold geeks, we should let the patrons
decide what is the worst log truck versus babies not award?
Speaker 4 (28:18):
Could that be like an Emperor drug rule.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
That could be the Emperor drag baby versus it's a
hydrogen bomb versus calling baby, Like, yeah, log truck versus
the CGI baby. I want to see and let them decide,
because I'm with you that I the baby to me
was and even then I.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
Feel like the seeing this on the big screen maybe
highlights it more than the log truck.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
This article did you hear this?
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Styllone read Taylors.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Vanessa Kurvey says the baby was one hundred percent real
and the Fantastic four not CGI.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Then someone's gonna take that baby to the fucking hospital.
That baby is not doing well.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yeah, I believe they probably used a real baby lots
of times, but there's or they or always that baby
was real and they just see gid stuff on top
and it didn't look good, you know, Like I also.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Make the eyes look in the right places. But that's
the biggest part for me is the eyes were scarier
than Galactus's eyes. I'll put it that way. That's not
what you want. This, I guess is a little more spoilery.
But I love that the villains are alive. I think
the MC doesn't do that enough. Keep these guys around,
you know, just kick them off to who knows where.
It might take them on hundred years to get back.
But we can use Galactus again. You can use Surfer,
(29:27):
who you know had the the turn at the end
and is maybe a good guy, you know, however you
want to square it out. But yeah, I love that
those characters are still kicking, and I hope we get
them again at some points and you can still do
some fun stuff with them, all that action stuff with
like Galactus. I just love that whole city sequence at
the end. I thought it was super fun. And I
(29:47):
also I don't know if you guys had this thought,
but like, I just thought it was how how funny
it was when like the whole world needs to work
together to like save power and build these things. And
I'm like, man, that is such a hopeful view, Like
I just if that happen on our earth today, zero
percent chance that that would be.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
A man, I got a drop tonight, I can't do that.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
Yeah, the fact like there would be so many criminals
looking to take advantage of that situation, like, oh, people
have the lights of maymbe the security systems are off
for gonna break into these banks. But I feel like
it's a very hopeful movie in that way, which is
maybe nice in this current world of world of things.
Maybe it's nice to have a movie that's just like
hyper positive, and.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
That's what we need. We need four astronauts to go up,
come up with powers, fix all our problems and will
be nice, hopeful, peteful. You know, that's what we need
that'll bring us all together is for super astronauts.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
So yeah, and then I think maybe my last note
is just like I I just I just feel like
every one of the f four got more nuanced than
they've had before. And you guys brought up in the
in the review that Ben Grinn the thing maybe doesn't
get as much as other people, but I still really
liked it. I feel like there was like hints, you know,
at one point he's like looking in the TV screen
at like his human face and like, you know, some
(30:51):
old ad that was playing, and he's like seeses a
reflection of himself. So I feel like we get hints
of like him having like self esteem issues and whatnot.
But it wasn't as over the top, and we've seen
that kind of stuff before, and I like that he
was just fun Uncle vibes and I got to do
that stuff, I think. But the differ Johnny Storm was
really great. We're actually like not making him just like
a complete airhead and giving him some stuff to do
of like cracking the code on the language stuff. I
(31:13):
thought that was really fun. I was impressed by Pedro.
I feel like I was. I feel like I'm feeling
a little a little fatigued, like many people are with
him right now, but I thought he did a really
good job. I think they made him you kind of
hate him, right, which I feel like is kind of
what the point of that character is supposed to be
at times perhaps, And I feel like we don't necessarily
get that with like the older f Fours that we had.
(31:35):
So and then yeah, I mean, Vanessa Kirby is great.
She has someone like probably the best just kind of
monologue type scenes in the movie. She brings a lot
of heart to it, and I you know, when I
was watching the movie, I was very hyper conscious of
the fact that we've talked so much about how it
was like, Oh, maybe she's gonna be like the star
of this and the movie's gonna be centered around her,
and like, for the first half, I wasn't really feeling
(31:56):
that way. I still think by the end, I don't
necessarily feel that way, But she got some really good
stuff in the second half, and I haven't really seen
her act in a whole lot, so I was also
kind of an introduction of her in some way. So yeah,
I really enjoyed the movie. I really. I think other
than the literally the baby c G I is like
maybe my only con like that's overall with I was.
(32:17):
I'll say it again, it was fantastic.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
There you go. When you listen to the review, did
you get through the whole thing? I did?
Speaker 4 (32:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Did you? Uh? Did you happen to pull up uh
the the YouTube video?
Speaker 4 (32:28):
I was not watching the YouTube. I was just listening on.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Oh no, you didn't see this?
Speaker 4 (32:32):
I heard, I heard it.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Don't I'm a friend of your father's here comes my
fair part. I am Victor. I am Victor. I had
(32:55):
that saved with my phone. I don't want to use
it yet because we're still in that territory. But every
once in a while, just every couple of days, I
am Victor pops in my hand. I just I just
giggle myself head movements too, I am Victory.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Like because that actually, I mean, yeah, it looks quite
similar to what that scene actually is. So like did
that leak? And then like someone used, yeah, they are,
so the.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
Scene leaked, and I think they just put that into
some a I bought to with the description. That's how
got there because, like I said, I had seen that before.
But then so say it was AI says like, oh okay, good,
it's fake. And then when I got to the actual
end credit, I was like, oh no, like that's like
it was but o'vill see, I am Victor was not
there the you know, Matt Shackman didn't have the foresight
to get that going. But uh yeah, yeah, there you go.
(33:40):
Well that's good, that's fantastic. You know, I'm excited to see.
I'm not gonna ask you because that's way because we
got till December January. What you like more than our thunderbolts,
So we'll we'll save it till then we'll table for
another time. Yeah, there you go, so look out January December. Yeah,
January five, Weary and Gold and geeks will decide lock
truck versus baby as well, mister bats are anything even
(34:01):
watching in the nineteen ninety four you good to go Saturday?
Speaker 5 (34:05):
Oh yeah, I definitely crossed off most of those.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Come on, are you fucking kidding me? I don't believe them.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
Yes, I got a lot of things to uh to
get in order, you know, by Saturday.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
But some movies are included in that. It's been a week.
It's been a week coming back off vacation to the
last week Kirk and you gotta start early.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
I did. I did.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
It's also more than one thing on the list and
then life just happens. But things that are not on
the ninety four list that I've been watching higher priority
is the Amy Bradley doc on Netflix.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
Right, I want to Shane. I watched that together and
definitely deterred us from every wanting to do a cruise.
I didn't like.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
I've been on a cruise before, back in three had
a good time, but I was a kid, and like
the thought of being on a cruise now is just
so unappealing to me. I feel like COVID was a
big reason for that, just from like seeing that one case.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
There's probably multiple.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
Cases, but just like the people that just got stuck
on the ship and they like could not leave and
it's just oh my god, man, And just like Horror
Story after Horse taylor Field, was this.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
The the Poop Ship documentary?
Speaker 5 (35:18):
No, so that's that's train Wreck, which is like a
series of docs, and this one was, Yeah, this one's
like I think it's called missing, and then it's like.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
The case Okay, okay, super sad. Uh just yeah, I
don't know, it's spoil Yeah, I have my own theories.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
I think like there's many situations. It's an unsolved mystery.
I guess that'll be my my spoiler. The worst part
about it is like the family is just like still
hoping that she like shows up one day, and like
I just couldn't imagine like being the situation of like
their whole life now is just going to be like
waiting for their.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Daughter to come home.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
It's just like so sad, but it's pretty like crazy
events too. So I think it's pretty good doc because
it like sets it up like, Okay, well that's clearly
what happened, and then and then like something else happens,
you're like, oh fuck, okay, maybe this is what clearly happened,
and then you kind of have your own thoughts on
what happened. I think two situations are what's the actual uh,
that's my my I don't know, my my detective investing,
(36:21):
yeah exactly. And one of them is like I think
that's best case scenario, and the other one is just
like the worst case scenario, and I think that's the
two most likely situations. After that, I'll quickly mention Shane
I finally finished The Pothecary Diaries.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Gonna be waiting for that next season. That is God damn.
We love that show.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
That's just like Reawoken, my my love for anime. It
is just such a great show. Highly recommend it to everyone.
Maybe maybe anime fans. I'll recommend it too. I don't
know how much to say, but like the boys and
I minus Dylan just went and saw The Naked Gun
last night.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Well, me and Tayor saw it. Kirkland was originally vibe,
but he had to sit somewhere else. I wasn't I
wouldn't say with him, but he still showed up.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
What does it even mean.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
You to Taylor?
Speaker 2 (37:09):
You know you didn't you attacked Taylor in his home,
wed sit next to you, curser. I make it seem
like we saw me together.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
But then allegations trip me out.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
I'm not even gonna say aything about the movie other
than it was a fantastic time.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Lots of time it was. It was good.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
Another Netflix doc I finished. I don't know if it's
a doc just a series, The Quarterback Show. It's a
couple of weeks old now, but uh fuck, I'm ready
for football season. We got Maddie Seggs cooking up a
draft for us.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
I am.
Speaker 5 (37:39):
I am so ready to go for the NFL season.
It's it's much anticipating.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Wait for him. Were about him later?
Speaker 5 (37:45):
Oh man, fuck yeah, we'll talk about that when we
got there. What was I gonna say? Oh yeah, just
poor Joe Burrow. That's like the saddest man in the league,
I think, and going into the season, I don't think
it's gonna be any better.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
Shane.
Speaker 5 (37:59):
I also watched the K Pop Demon Hunters movie, which
holy fuck that I love that movie. It is so
much fun. It's like for me, it very much reminded
me of Turning Red and the whole like for Town,
Like just just just the way that the girls are
like obsessed with with like that vibe and like the
music and the animation is just very much reminded me
(38:20):
of that. I highly recommend it. I think it's just
such a well made project, and I think we're getting
a sequel if I'm not mistaken. She told me that, Yeah,
so we're down, we're gonna be makes me not want
to watch it, that's just what.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Yeah, Well, because like you get one hit and then
they're just like and you like that, we get all.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
But you're gonna be watching Dexter Travis.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Different though, as I'm not watching the Dexter animated remake.
Like that's the thing. I because I'm no.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Longer you know you would and you know it's possible.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
It's not impossible, absolutely not. It's not on the newsnight,
but apparently it's getting renewed for season two and three,
so there you go. No, I think I'm just like
I had my fill. It's just because like I like,
we didn't. I can't remember last time I went to
go pay to see a live action remake. I think
I'm that's like war movies, where I'm just I'm over that,
Like I have no interest. I've seen them enough of
(39:15):
them and they're just always you know, that wasn't as good.
So it's like, why do I keep watching this? Why
did I just walk? So I think it's just to
get this big hit and like, guess what we're doing? Sequel,
spin off, live action remake. I can get this. The
sequel's fine, that I get, but it's just like already
but that's just every company nowadays, right, it has to
be like you like that, Well, there's six more things
coming live action remake though, no, thank you, I don't
(39:35):
need I haven't seen it. But it's just this is weird.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
This is the one where I feel like I'm the
most open to for a live action remake because it
just it just seems like it makes the most sense.
I don't know, get right, but uh yeah, recommend that movie?
What else is on here? I think that's all. I'll
say the rest all I'll stay for Saturday. One movie
I watched, you know, got like twenty nine movies to
watch by Saturday.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Just kidding, mister Field.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Yeah, so look at my list here. I've I've been
keeping busy. I watch The Duchess with Ralph Findes and
Kieren Knightley. I've not seen this before, but Madison loves
Pride and Prejudice like she she absolutely loves that movie,
and so I thought, okay, I saw this. It's the
same time period, roughly, let's put the songs be kind
(40:23):
of interesting to see. Maybe it's you know, got the
same kind of positive vibes. Ker Knightley gets treated like
shit in this movie. It's brutal. Ralph Finds is an
amazing father and husband, though in here I'm kidding, he's
his brutal, brutal, brutal, brutal. But it was an endearing movie.
Everyone came out to play and it was It was
a good story.
Speaker 4 (40:45):
Did you see every Cure Knightly movie? Is that true?
Speaker 5 (40:47):
I feel like they're all period pieces.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Too, in the twenty chance they were, she did like
six period pieces.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
Yeah yeah, But what else did I on?
Speaker 2 (40:58):
Technically?
Speaker 3 (40:58):
Pirates is technically yeah, yeah, that's right me. Madison did
it well? Date Nights to f One that was freaking awesome.
Oh my god, even more awesome because I've been listening
to radio and I want two free movie tickets and
two free popcorns to listen to the radio. And so
we cashed that in and it was just it was
it was an amazing, amazing time. That movie was just great.
(41:19):
There's one point and you're like the end of the
second act where I thought, this is starting to feel
a little long, But once that third act came in,
I was just there. Brad Pitt was phenomenal in that movie.
I had a blast, Like just you know, car movies
are gonna have a happy ending. I think usually maybe
there's one that doesn't. But I feel like majority of
the time they win the race, or they they become
the mentor their success or wins it.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
Can you name me five car movies that you've seen
your life?
Speaker 3 (41:42):
No sequels, without sequels.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
No, no, don't know sequels like this car movies?
Speaker 3 (41:49):
Okay, cars, I'll do Grand Trismo, chi Hiti Bang Bang
f one. That's a car movie. That car it has
a mind of it. Herbie, Herbie's and Herbie's another one,
Chichibank is a car race movie. He's a race car,
He's a race car. That's how he gets destroyed and
then he comes back. Oh this man, geez two more. Okay,
(42:13):
what was that other one?
Speaker 4 (42:15):
Ah?
Speaker 2 (42:18):
So you even get you.
Speaker 3 (42:20):
I was gonna say, tron Tron's got race cars.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
No, you're stretching. That's a computer anime.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
Taylor Death Race. Come on, you're missing some some good.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
Oh that's a good one. Furious as Rat Race Ready
Player one has a race in it. That's the troncky.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
Yeah, I'm surprised you didn't. We will have yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Yeah, so yeah, there you go. Race movies. I just
rewatched Sinners because Madison hadn't seen it and put that on,
and I was just she started watching it and then
she was so tired she fell asleep for about half
an hour and then she woke back up. When they're
like we're on the Rocky Road to Dublin. I was.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
It was like repeating that scene.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
Eleven thirty at night. I was just fucking singing that
chance Taylor question for you, Do you think you would
have enjoyed F one that much if you didn't get
free tickets and popcorn? Yes?
Speaker 4 (43:15):
I just feel like, okay, okay, that movie, that movie
is really excited. Maybe jazz because of the circumstances. I'm
just surprised to hear such flagrant praise for that movie
after what I've heard about it.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
Yeah, I haven't heard good things either. Time the bringing back,
the positivity for the ten years.
Speaker 3 (43:34):
The the just the the the character of Brad Pitt.
I really liked just how I don't know he was
innocent humor, he wasn't there, and just like the big
thing too, the dynamic between him being this old, kind
of like washed out guy, but he's still got the
skills and the technique and he's trying to team up
and work with his rookie who's just hot headed but
(43:55):
can be more. I really like their back and forth
because they're just insulting each other and they do a
good job I hating each other. And then on top
of that, just the visuals were so damn good. My
probably my favorite scene doesn't sound really weird, is just
when they're upgrading the car and you just shows the
car inside this small little warehouse like little area, and
(44:16):
then they pump the fans on and you see the
air flowing and you see all these computer screens and
the technology showing just every little bit of enhancements or
details involved with that. It's just so cool because it's
real technology, and I just it's it's neat. It's cool
to see that kind of aspect when building something that
is just so perfect when it comes to racing. I
(44:37):
just I love that visually, it was very appealing. Love.
What was your question, Travis?
Speaker 2 (44:44):
So for the Coleead guy, do you guys think he
would be a good Black panther? There's rumors around him.
Speaker 4 (44:52):
I didn't like him in the movie.
Speaker 2 (44:53):
So, but like from an acting ability, I.
Speaker 5 (44:57):
Think it was potential. You know, it's tough to judge
him on. Is that projects it? I think so for
me personally, I would need like another point of reference.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
F two.
Speaker 5 (45:09):
No, that's a different league. It would be F one two.
Come on, this guy.
Speaker 4 (45:15):
One.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
You saw me as well. Dan has some so you
can answer that.
Speaker 4 (45:21):
I think he'd be great.
Speaker 3 (45:24):
I liked how he performed in the movie. I think.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
There's not a set up or anything. I have no idea.
I'm just there's rumors around.
Speaker 4 (45:32):
I like how he performed in the.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
Movie because I'm pretty sure that guy's name is Damon Idoris,
right something like that. Sure, I'm pretty that's not confident.
I'm pretty sure the concept art for Doomsday had him
as Black Panther, so I think that's what started the like,
oh something's going on there.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
So I'm good.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
I am cha'challa Junior. But yeah, I don't know if
he's playing Junior or like then.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
But yeah, after Sinners all the Spider Man news, me
and Mask just got big into just the Tom holl
and Spidey stuff. So we watched home Coming. We did
Far From Home, and then I was on the fence
of telling Travis like, I'm thinking maybe I should go
back to like Infinity War and then endgame or do
some of like the Toby stuff and just branch up
before I get to no Way Home. Masks and just like,
let's keep it going. So we put on No Way Home.
(46:23):
We watched no Way Home.
Speaker 2 (46:25):
We're about halfway through Pushover. You know what.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
At the end of the day, I just I really
liked No Way Home. It's a dank good movie, and
I was I was not gonna resist. She pinned me down.
I was like, just let's just take it, take me,
let's do it.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
So you got to fight for Toby, you know, well,
he's there, he's there.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
One real thing that we've been joying enjoying is we
since we started? All the Spider Man news came out,
and Setine didn't have any kind of She didn't know
what Spider Man was.
Speaker 4 (46:52):
Really.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
She doesn't watch any superhero stuff really at all. It's
just been Star Wars and Jurassic Park and all that.
So she I'm showing Madison the picture of Spider Man,
and I'm saying, oh, this is spider by spider Man's
a teen's looking at hers like Spider Man, spider Man.
And so now randomly she's doing like the fingers like
and she makes the sound effects like. So she's a
she's a spider fan. So she watched Homecoming with.
Speaker 4 (47:15):
Us when Franklin Richard's over here. That's right.
Speaker 3 (47:18):
She loved Homecoming.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
She wanted to do it.
Speaker 3 (47:21):
I'm gonna be Green Goblin to be Spider Man, and
we're gonna fight finish.
Speaker 4 (47:26):
It if you were Green Goblin. And she was like
a little pumpkin bomb.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
Just pick her up and toss her over the you
know what, the thrower. That's not a bad idea. Madison
actually said that she should be aunt Man and I
should be the bigger ant Man. So it's like she
like that.
Speaker 7 (47:45):
You're going to do that scene, those eyes, those horrible.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
He knows who I am? And Spider Man come out
to play.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
I was thinking of maybe getting her like a Spider
Spider going costume or something like that, because she's she's
enjoying it. So but we'll see, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (48:09):
Yeah, just wait till she watched Spider and Friends, and
the fucking show is trying to doctrinate you into Ghost
Spider and Spin. The fact they call Myles spin is
the most Every time Ellie says Spin, I'm like, it's
not Spin. His name is Miles Morales. It's not Spin.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
Why do they call him Spin? Is that his nickname?
Like Gobby?
Speaker 2 (48:26):
I think got fucking Gobby too. That is his name
of the show. They don't never call him Green golb.
I think it's just that the kids don't get confused
by there's two Spider Man, so it's just Spin, Spidery
and then Ghost Spider. But I tell Elly every day, no,
that's Miles Morales. That's Spider Man. You know, so.
Speaker 3 (48:44):
Cool cool, I'm that nineteen ninety four stuff.
Speaker 2 (48:47):
But uh yeah, Saturday, Uh yeah, watch the Goonies. That's fantastic.
I've been talking about watching with the kids for a while.
Still hold up lots of laughs. It's a five out
a five movie. Watch Barbarian yesterday. Yeah, just getting ready
for a weapon. I enjoyed it a little bit more
that I had precly watched Incredibles one, fantastic movie. Watching
Credibles two not so much. But you know, I was,
(49:09):
I was hoping. I'm always hoping gonna like it more
because we watched it with the girls. I was in
an Incredibles mood after f four. That's why, because just
like that aesthetic and stuff. So that first one, yeah,
still just got to your Pixar second one. You know,
it's fine background noise. The kids liked it up. But
even the kids, they don't. They didn't even like it
as much as like I put it on, but like it.
They're not like yeah, like in Credbls one, they're locked
(49:30):
in the whole time. And then yeah, like these guys said,
watched happy or not in a happy gimma about last week,
awful movie number two. Uh Naked gunn was just fantastic. Man,
I everything I won more and that's all all My
list is why I watched all the Originals last week
as well, So that was tons of fun because I
got Paramountlus right now for Dexter and then they're on there.
So no, it was a really really good time. It
(49:52):
was fun. In front of us, there is a family
and I think they had a daugh I was about
maybe fourteen to fifteen, who was laughing, having a good time.
The parents she was with were not so much having
a good time. One mom like the mom laughed like
a spirit hallween joke. But then let's just say there's
like a running sexual gag that happens at one point,
and the daughters like she like leaned over and cover
(50:13):
her mouth because I think she could tell her parents,
we're not into this scene and we're not finding it
amusing at all. But she's like chuckling. So I got
a good time out of that. But man, that movie
that was everything I wanted. I was very happy with it.
I can't wait too that that's gonna be a go
to like watch every once in a while. Again. I
really hope they do another one, but if not, that's fine.
(50:34):
This was just perfect. Ever since I saw Leave Me
some Shorts, I was like, man, I need them to
do like something comedic and finally got this. Since there's
another tray we're gonna talk about later, which I don't
think I'm gonna get those same vibes, great vibes I did,
but yeah, Nika got highly highly recommended. That was a
home run for me. Him laughed that long in the
theater quite a while. I'd have to really think about it,
(50:57):
because I even did pull over me last year. I laughed.
But there's lots of breaks. I can't remember the last
colmedy I saw. It probably was bull trained, to be honest,
I think there's lots of in theaters. I was just
like dying laughing, and this time I was dying laughing
multiple times.
Speaker 4 (51:09):
So awesome.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
Yeah, like a four and five out of five. I
think there's a couple jokes that going for a little
bit that aren't my bag, but you know, that's a
parody movie. I think they're always gonna have something that
really works for you and then something that doesn't work
for you at all, but some high highs. Maybe one
day I'll be a five out of five. But yeah,
all right, we'll take our first ad break and then
we'll be right back when news and we're back. So
because we went a little longer there in the beginning,
(51:31):
as we usually. I'm just gonna throw a bunch of
stuff at you with all those and if you need
a reminder, you can throw it at me. But I'm
gonna start so dealing Kirkle and you listen. I'm gonna
start you guys first, because one, I just want your
guys' opinion on the suit, because I talked about and
Tress told you. Then Taylor impromptu join me. He was
up late on a midnight so he joined me a
little bit. So we've talked about the suits. So we
gonna go back and listen to that. So I want
you guys opinion on the suit. I guess that current
(51:54):
rumor is there's lots of kind of symbols and there's
lots of CONTs art that features samurais and that type
of stuff, lots of like Asian culture stuff that they
were or sorry, Japanese culture stuff that has kind of
been a mixed report of Okay, lots of people are like, okay,
there's lots of stuff point into mister negative and then
(52:14):
now there's this new stuff and then there's another kind
of I'd say, like CEE plus your Scooper saying that
it's not mister Negative after all. So it looks like
that's what's happening. It looks like the main two villains
right now. Suppose we are Viper in Silver Samurai, which
is odd because those were the two main films in
the Wolverine, literally both of them. So I don't know
what's happening there. More kind of on this I talked
(52:35):
about a bit on Trestley, but the Punisher is still
to his usual murderous psychopathic ways, but he's weaponary to
deal with the threats like Spider Man and Hulk. He
has some special tech and a huge tank. So we
got that. Score people will have a prominent role, but
not the main film. And then as India's gonna we've
heard this before, important role in the film, but won't
(52:57):
have that much screen time. And then also Sony Can
affirmed this week that they are doing a Spiderpunk animated film.
Daniel Kalua is going to be trans of voice, but
he's also producing on co writing the movie. And then
these are ones that are in development. They're not as
far as long, but Venom and Spier one, which I
felt like we had heard of. Venom rumor like last year.
If I recall like a venom animated film, I thought
(53:18):
we talked about that, but uh yeah, so I threw
a lot at youdilm what what stands up there?
Speaker 8 (53:23):
For?
Speaker 2 (53:23):
What's tingled in your spidy sense? If you know what
I mean? Ah?
Speaker 4 (53:27):
Yeah, geez, where do it?
Speaker 3 (53:29):
Well?
Speaker 4 (53:30):
Wolver I have seen that movie before, but I don't
really recall their dynamic in their Viper and Samurai because
when I was googling Viper as a character, went on
a Wikipedia page and I did control f Silver Samurai,
there was like twelve mentions of civil time or all
over of this. So this seems like they're very intertwined.
They've dated at times and things like this. Was that
(53:50):
their dynamic in Wolverine or what was going on there?
Speaker 2 (53:53):
No Silver Samurai? You know, spoil was for the fucking
twenty thirteen movie. But like Silver Samurai dies and the
first act like his death is faked, and then he
comes back as like a third act like it's been
to me all along, very particable, and Viper's like his
like work or like like kind of hench woman that's
doing all these things. They both don't have much development
because he's dead most of the movie, and she has
(54:15):
nothing going on. And it is also weird because I
know they've popped in other stuff, but in my mind
they're primarily these seems Silver Samurai is primarily an X
Men villain, So, like, I guess Marvel like they have
the rights to all those characters now, right, But I
just feel like very odd that would be the route
that they're that they're going with this. I was really
bummed that these mister negative things seem to not be
(54:36):
true after all.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
So yeah, I mean, I guess with all this Hulk
stuff going on now, you know, maybe a big part
of the movie is like a I don't know, some
mind controlled type Hulk situation. So I don't know, maybe
that's where it is, where they're not necessarily like sounds
like there's a lot going on in this movie. Did
you mention the scorpion thing too? That scorpions in there
now as well?
Speaker 2 (54:57):
And there's other villains too. There's Transla, there's Boomer, there's
ram Rod, so but I think a lot of yeah
Ramrod Nimrod though not Nimrod, no, he's a half cyb
Or character. But I do think a lot of these
might be taken up, taking out just like a montage
or something. I think we might we might get like
a four style yeah what I've been doing for god
(55:19):
five years since No Way Home.
Speaker 4 (55:20):
So yeah, just him saying I took took a ramrod.
Things are good over here in Queens. I so I
would really I was thinking about this that, like man
in MCU, have we seen a villain? We haven't seen
a lot of villain like duos in this way, but
also have we've seen like a villain duo that's like
a couple that could be really fun dynamic. I'd be
(55:44):
really down at these two to just chew it up,
chew up the scenery together and rams and rods and
all that good stuff.
Speaker 2 (55:50):
What did you say, Kirkland?
Speaker 5 (55:51):
Not since Pokemon like Jesse and James.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
Okay, what the fuck are you talking about? He said, Marvelvills.
I'm not a couple. I think that could be fun.
I'm not counting the Disney Plus shows because I'm like
foggy on those. I can't remember any of those. Yeah,
I don't think. Yeah, he's rip, but like even duos
(56:16):
are pretty like Iron mem three for a little bit.
But then Rebecca Hall does a good guy turn and
you know, helps helps the crew out.
Speaker 4 (56:25):
But more of the stories, No, it really hasn't been done,
I think. So I think there's a potential there if
they make them a couple, and I don't want something
where there's some romance, but like, I just want them
to be a couple together, and we just started at
that point and we go down there. I think it
could be fun. I mean, all I know about Viper
is uh is that in Marvel Snap when you put
it down and she throws one of your cars the
other side. That's all. But I guess she's like, you know,
related to Hydra and stuff, which I kind of feel
(56:46):
like we're past the Hydra era of the MCU. But
I guess we could always circle back on that. I
mean Silver Samurai, I guess is I assume he's a
mutant though, right that character typically.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
I don't know if I would say say that. I
fel he's always entwined with the mutants and has some
I mune stuff being going on, but I don't think
he's immunal. Per set me let me do.
Speaker 4 (57:09):
I mean, obviously they could just have him in there
and not mentioned that at any point and not really
make a big hullabaloo about the whole x Men connection
of it. But I'm I'm okay with this. I mean,
I like mister Negative from what I know of that character,
and I was excited to see him if that was
the thing we were getting. But I'm actually not too
mad about this. I think it I think it makes sense,
it could be interesting. It really makes me want to
watch that Wolverine movie, even if they weren't necessarily like
(57:30):
well done for these characters. Have we retroed that at
any point?
Speaker 2 (57:33):
That one we did? But I'd say they're lacking. But
the movie is good. That what we talked about. It
feels like it's like the Baby Steps to Logan because
it's still James Mangold. So it feels like half the
movie it's like, oh, this is Logan, and then the
next half is like, oh, we get into like you
gotta be a combook movie. It feels like that was
the setup for him to get the full rip Chord
(57:55):
and Logan. But it's still still good because like Logan
loses his powers in that movie, there's some great It's
stuff there. He's like homeless for the first act and
it's it's a low key favorite of mine. I love
that one. It's very depressing movie, which is good. So
s pubs another person. I like the Wolverine lot, so
you know where to go?
Speaker 4 (58:15):
I guess yeah, Punisher. I don't love the idea of
him being like souped up in a way, but I
but it makes sense, given like if he has to
face the Hulk and Spider Man, obviously he needs some
sort of power upgrade. So I wonder if that's what
his special will be about, in some way, some some
journey that leads him to that position. I guess that
would be after this.
Speaker 2 (58:36):
I think it's before the special presentation.
Speaker 4 (58:38):
Yeah, okay, cool, So so that could potentially be a
set up there. What am I missing at this point?
So the suit?
Speaker 2 (58:46):
Do you like the suit? I haven't.
Speaker 4 (58:47):
I haven't seen the suit so I can google that.
Speaker 2 (58:49):
Oh okay, bring that suit up. I was gonna says,
and J we've talked about, you said about you probably
should at least you put Brand New Day. What about Scorpion?
Excited to see Scorpion? Fine, you're set up in a
homecoming post grat the full suit.
Speaker 4 (59:04):
I do remember that. It sounds like if he has
a small role. I'm guessing he's like, you know, it's
prominent role.
Speaker 2 (59:09):
Prominent role. Oh, but not the main villain, that's what
it said.
Speaker 4 (59:12):
Yeah, oh interesting, uh number right, Viper has like a
kind of Scorpion vibes. Right, she's green and like poisonous,
So maybe there's some dynam maybe there's like a love
triangle between those two. I'd be down for I don't
know if i'd be down for that, but okay, I'm
down for Scorpion to be in there. I I read
that note wrong. I thought he had a small role,
(59:34):
so I anticipated that he'd be like, Okay, he takes
him in the first fifteen minutes. He's like that initial
villain before we get into like the the juice of
the movie. But yeah, I'm I'm okay with that. I'm
open to it because the plot's not freaking dense though
there's a lot going on here.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
Yeah, because the the plot synopsis was Spiderman, Punisher and
Hulk fight each other before they realized there's a greater threat.
So like, nothing that crazy, like that civil war, that's
Spider that's that's thunderbolts, that's bvs.
Speaker 5 (01:00:04):
Are on paper, Like there's been so many movies that
follow that, but like, yeah, just on paper, it's like,
oh god, we got another one of these.
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Yeah, Like I just I don't want it to be that.
I don't want it to be like, oh, someone Hulk.
I kind of understand, because like you gotta make them mad.
And that's one thing I now everyone's been theorized, which
I am curious about too. When it was mister Negative,
it's like, oh, well, that's the easy way he can
really mess with Bruce Banner. That's the way you get
savage haulk out. I'm very curious how they do that
(01:00:32):
now with like no like no character. That's like, as
far as we know, no character that really affects the
psyche like that, Like I don't think Viper, like I
hope Bruce doesn't like spat Vanomin in his face. And
then he's like, oh, like I don't want that, like
I want something.
Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
It has a weird chemical reaction with the gamma and
you know, yeah, I just.
Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
I don't want that. And then I also don't want
Scar to get killed. So it's like I don't really.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Like anything, Like you don't want Scar to get killed?
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
Okay, I do, but I like that being the motivation
means nothing, especially when Kevin Fagi is in an interview like, yeah,
Thunderbolts all lot Disney plus characters Peel didn't know. So
it's like, yeah, so you're saying that's one of the
reasons it's failed. You expect the movie goers to be like, oh,
Scar's dead Man, Like, I don't know. It's just I'm
not saying I'm worried about this movie. I just need
to see a bit more of the vision. I'm hyped
(01:01:17):
on the elements of it, but it's just there is
a lot. I do think a lot of these characters
will get killed, like being right away. I think actually
Punisher will kill a lot of them, which is good
because that's why I think you use characters like Triantela
and Boomerang, cause it's like, we're never gonna use these again,
like let Frank kill them. So I just hope the
core movie is I would like punish her versus Spider
Man in a sense that he is kind of the
(01:01:38):
Viilm the same way Tony Stark it was the villain
for most of Civil War, right where yeah, we love Tony,
but he was doing some bad stuff. Like I hope
it's that. But again, they had Zimo being the like
the puppet Master, right, So.
Speaker 4 (01:01:50):
Yeah, I mean even if we just look at like
F four on paper, it's like, Okay, well you got
the four, you got the Baby. This time around, you
got Surfer, you got Galactus, you got Mollman. We're gonna
chuck uh Diablow in there, and Red Goose or whatever
his name is, Like you know, on paper, maybe it's
like as many characters as this, So I don't know,
it could it could work. I think it'll be a
(01:02:11):
messy time, but hopefully a fun time. The suit it
looks a lot like Toby suit, right, that's kind of
the vibe of it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
Yeah, kind of. I think the blue undercuts a little
like Andrews, but yet it has like the raised web,
it's more black and stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:02:22):
Like that hybrid between those two do just Taylor's favorite words.
So I think I think it looks good. I like it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
Yeah, And then yeah, they animate stuff Spider Punk Movie, Venom,
Spider Woman.
Speaker 4 (01:02:33):
Is what else is going on in the Sony? I
guess another into the verse.
Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
One, yeah, Beyond the Spider Verses twenty twenty seven, and
then these three animated films, then nothing live action because
I remember they killed the uh the everything got the SEU.
Speaker 4 (01:02:47):
Yeah, thank god?
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
After Craven, Yeah yeah, I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
After kind of not really liking the second Spider Verse,
I'm not too right. I think the Spider Woman one
is one that I most anticipated for out of these,
Like Venom. Okay, we've seen enough Venom recently, is it? Sorry?
Is it Venom as a solo or Venom? And Spider
Woman is a collect.
Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
No solo solo.
Speaker 4 (01:03:07):
So I'm down for Spider Woman. That's what I'm excited
for these three for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
Okay, mister Patzer, how are you feeling over there?
Speaker 4 (01:03:15):
I'm feeling all right.
Speaker 5 (01:03:16):
It's a little warm in this room, but I'm doing
That's cool. Wait one day, I mean, fuck, I was.
I was juicing with this, with this substance you were
throwing at me here with it, with these notes I got.
I feel like I started off with just the suit reveal,
which I fucking love. I just I love the blue
(01:03:36):
on a Spider Man suit.
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
And have you seen like the practical way they're shooting
this movie? Have you been the discord much? If not,
I'll pull it up.
Speaker 4 (01:03:42):
No I haven't.
Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
When I was out just keep talking.
Speaker 5 (01:03:45):
Look at the discord at all unfortunately, But yeah, I know,
I think the suit looks so great. That video it
was just it was great, you know, just Tom Holland
walking out.
Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
They have him on a rig they're driving through.
Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
And depicts laid on that bowl drain there.
Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
No, I'm not doing that. They have a like through
glass Glasgow that they're driving this shot.
Speaker 4 (01:04:06):
Okay, I did see this shot. Actually that shot.
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Yeah, this is the thumbnail. They need to use that
as the poster. Like I don't even think they need
to like like make it look even nice, like that
is one of the most like aura like very cool things.
But look look at this ship. They haven't on a
ring and there's like explosions behind him. This is all
practical stuff. This literally looks like if Spider Man was
in our world and someone was taking photos them, like
look what Spider Man did, Like this is like that
(01:04:31):
right there. So cool, Which is so funny because everyone's
been dogging on the last director, John Watts, because they
asked like, oh, if you don't do speraming for what's
your advice. He's like, oh, my voice is a never
do the web slinging pat practical. It never looks good.
It just looks kind of cheap and phone like and
then yeah, the sung sheet director, I guess was like, nah,
I'm not doing that, but yeah, these photos are like.
Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
Yeah, this is is Tom? Is Tom doing his sons?
Is he in there with the song?
Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
I don't think he's. I think he's in like this
where he's standing on top the car like waving.
Speaker 4 (01:05:01):
In no way they have him swinging around with Explore.
Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
But Tom Tom Cruise is swinging around there.
Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
I don't think that's Tom Hollan where there's a huge
explosion behind him.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
In one of your your notes was that Zenda is
like there but not necessarily be in the movie, but
more to support him. So I guess it's like, in
the event that he breaks his leg or something.
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
She can Yeah. Yeah, but he has been on top
of the car moving. I've seen those ones before, so
I bet he'd love to do the swing he made
they let him do like one. But yeah, like look
at this. You're you're at work, everyone's like I want
to see.
Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
This phone and you look outside your window and next
is aiming for the cross for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
But I hope this photo does come out because again,
this looks like stuff like Spider man would submit to
Toby like j Jon and James. Yeah. So but yeah,
it's some it's some good stuff going.
Speaker 5 (01:05:47):
No, Yeah, that's I'm juicing with all those images.
Speaker 4 (01:05:50):
I think all of.
Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
This Glasgow is that the setting of the movie. Okay,
it's just cheaper to film New York. Yeah, it's just
cheaper to film there.
Speaker 5 (01:06:00):
Okay, respect, let me refer to my notes here. A
lot of villains who were thrown out there. I'm really
down for this. I I feel like I'm always been
wanting to just get more spidy villains in content, just
because there is so many. I mean, you guys went
through the animated series, like, there's just so many freaks
(01:06:21):
in the roster. And even if they do get dismantled
by like the Punisher, part of me is a little
bit sour because I'm like, oh, we're never going to
get that crazy arc with Tarantula or or whoever might.
Speaker 4 (01:06:33):
Be a Boomerang.
Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
Those are the ones that do He's taking off like Rhino.
Speaker 4 (01:06:37):
And like Rhino is like, you know, I love Rhino.
Speaker 5 (01:06:42):
On that list, I put him in a higher tier
than he probably deserves to be, just just for like
his parallel and everything just for nostalgia's sake and everything.
I like, I probably have him a tier just because
just because I have probably just.
Speaker 4 (01:06:57):
Nostalgia even months ago.
Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
We're going, come on, now, that's not Rhinos.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
Rhino hold like Apaul g Mony, that'd be a fun gast.
We should rank those because like, like, I don't agree
with Rhino, he's beat tier, but I think people have
him lower. Like for me, Scorpions probably an eight tier.
He's one of my favorite good characters. But yeah, I
think Frank is gonna probably end the Scorpion in this movie.
Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
Scorpion is like a tier potentially even higher.
Speaker 5 (01:07:22):
Honestly off of what we just saw with what the
fuck was the show called.
Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
Friendly?
Speaker 5 (01:07:31):
That many great great character there, So yeah, no I
And then like Viper, I've seen some things with her.
Speaker 4 (01:07:40):
But I don't really know much about the character, so
there's some unknowns in here for sure.
Speaker 5 (01:07:45):
I'm just excited to see a bunch of freaks on
screen and uh and let's go, let's see what happens.
Silver Samurai definitely not a character that I thought would
be like at the top of my prediction list for
like the next live action Spider Man film.
Speaker 4 (01:08:00):
But I'm down let's let's do it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
I just I really want to see the story and
why other than maybe it is just like that Hulk
and Punisher are pretty much the main villains, so they're
just like, let's just use a bunch of kind of
like lamer villains that like we're not gonna like I
wonder how like I guess I'm an Wolverine fans gonna say,
I want a Wolverine fans say, I just feel like
if you use those characters, I guess you're not doing
(01:08:23):
that arc with the Wolverine go to Japan or anything
like that, which I thought they could still redo one day.
But I feel like it's kind of odd to use
Samurai here. So but maybe they're just using a bunch
of characters they don't really care about.
Speaker 5 (01:08:35):
So they were getting the Spider Man in Japan as
the next the next setup.
Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
Oh that's how we down.
Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
That'd be cool.
Speaker 5 (01:08:41):
Yeah, any other names I missed A Scorpion.
Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
I guess we kind of talked.
Speaker 5 (01:08:47):
I kind of mentioned him.
Speaker 4 (01:08:52):
I hope.
Speaker 5 (01:08:53):
I hope it's it's a very enticing character and hopefully
some setup for for something in the future. And of
course I'm just pulling from your friendly neighbor with Spider
Man and just just just pulling out of like what
I saw there.
Speaker 4 (01:09:04):
On on on what.
Speaker 5 (01:09:05):
They had with that character that was so good. I
don't know, like there's there's ties with JJ. Also, is
he supposed.
Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
To be in this He even said anything about him
coming back, And I don't know. It's kind of because
they use.
Speaker 4 (01:09:21):
It get like it's like it's it's not like he's
gonna be in there like doing a lot of scenes.
You could even just have him podcasting or whatever he's doing, and.
Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
It is, but like I think they kind of ruined
him to be honest, like doing the whole Info Wars
guy thing. It's like you I like the dynamic of
I want to see Tom Hall and him pound around,
you know where I don't think you'd get that dynamic
of Peter's taking photos for this because I know that's
always the thinking, like Jones a bad guy. But the
thing about Joan is usually he's a bad guy, but
he still has like a good guy deep down there
(01:09:50):
where they're making him like an Alex Jones type who
was like, no, Alex Jones is like a complete piece
of shit. So it's like, I don't I don't whatever
his thing was, like the Daily Bugle Info or whatever,
Like I don't see Peter working for that. So that's
where I was more excited when we got on Far
from Home because that's, oh, we're gonna get the dynamic
of Peter the photographer taking photos, that's its job. But
I don't think we're getting that. So, like, I'm not
(01:10:13):
saying I would not take JK back, but if it's
just to do more of knowing home, I don't know.
Maybe I don't know. I bet he's still in there,
though if I had to pizza Bed, I would not
pizza Bed against that.
Speaker 5 (01:10:23):
So yeah, And then in terms of Punisher Hulk.
Speaker 4 (01:10:30):
Spidy Trio, I like, I love the idea of that.
Speaker 5 (01:10:34):
I'm just curious how they're gonna like spoon feed us
the Punisher stuff and have it like believable on likeke
put him in a warm machine. Now I have this
Hulk crusher gadget, and it's like, okay, Like I can
foresee Frank Castle just pulling out a fucking sawed off
shotgun and and just shooting some rounds into Hulk, But
like that doesn't do anything right like we've seen trying
(01:10:57):
to do that to the Hulk, but like who gives
them the suit?
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
He's gonna kill Roady?
Speaker 4 (01:11:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
Is that no? Frank in the Stark Tech Like I
don't know, He's.
Speaker 4 (01:11:06):
Just like yeah, so like I'm gonna need Frank. I'm
gonna need a decent explanation.
Speaker 5 (01:11:11):
That's that's somewhat like maybe halfway.
Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
That is true? What if that is the special? What
if the special is I bet it could be their verse,
or what if there's other bad guys like in other
movies and shows that have acquired Stark Tech, Frank stops
that bad guy has been like, oh I need this
la you know, and he saves so.
Speaker 4 (01:11:28):
Looks into the camera and then it just rolls the
credits next time.
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
So I think they might explain it. But like I
guess I don't have that issue, like because other people
brought that up. I don't because like even in Daredevil
when he's sitting in a room, there's just like weapons
everywhere in Schematics. I'm like, like Frank's life is just
finding weapons and finding gears. It's like I can believe
that he's gonna land on.
Speaker 5 (01:11:53):
A just already has a basement full of stuff. Yeah,
I can always got an armory where he goes.
Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
I can believe that. And I know people don't want
to see a lot of people don't want to see
him in the war machine suit. I don't hate as
much as other people because we have him in other.
Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Maybe into him and he just hulks birth all.
Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
Yeah, and he has like the skull color.
Speaker 4 (01:12:14):
Yeah, he just like Venom. He's just black with a
white something.
Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
The didn't make him black that like John Birth Like,
I don't think we should this.
Speaker 4 (01:12:24):
One, Like, no, you're gonna be black, right, No, it
doesn't come back for Darren because of the script. He's like,
but I'll be black?
Speaker 2 (01:12:35):
How much zeros? Yeah, okay it whatever, But no, I
think we were you asked what the suit Originally we
forget the like he'll have the war machine suit with
like the with the skull he prays he sprays it
over it. Yeah, of course he does.
Speaker 4 (01:12:48):
Oh it's like been a comic book thing. Of course.
Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
Yeah. I will show you to another photo came out
from because his specials like filming right now, so he's
like literally filming stuff back to back. His look is
out there. He's going full beard this time. No, it's
fine because usually the beard means retirement, not anymore. The
beard is fine, but yeah, this is his full look
for the special so laughing.
Speaker 4 (01:13:11):
I don't know why. I just was he's like default
NPC stance right now. Looking at the shape of his
head is crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:13:19):
And if he turns into the Hulk, you know, white
or black, I want him to have like facial hair
and and haircut too. I don't think it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:13:27):
But yeah, I was kind of hoping that he'd get
right here.
Speaker 4 (01:13:32):
What was that third of it?
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
No, no, no, yes, he's getting that look for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
Hang on, I'll bring it up in a full screen
format here. Yeah, that's how he's gonna fight the Hull.
Now they did They used to do swimsuit editions Marvel
and the women said.
Speaker 4 (01:13:54):
Yeah, the Kyle sunglasses going on.
Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
He does get the sunglasses, but American, sure, that just
looks like guys I see every fucking day. There's the
war machine right there. Look worse. There's tons of people
I've seen so much of like Kevin Fag You better
not fucking put him in that suit. Like people hate
him in that. I get it.
Speaker 4 (01:14:13):
Have been flashbacks for like Afflex big Batman suit that
it is.
Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
Yeah, it's like a space yo.
Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
That's kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
He just like Black Man today. He really does. Trying
to find I feel like Cosmic Ghost to be number one,
which is called Oh you like.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Cosmics number one, It's gotta be number one.
Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Oh oh, I'll go down worse. There's a man punisher.
What the fuck? There's so much like suits here, black
and white, number one. I think number white punish your max.
Let's see worse, Okay, we're gonna get there. Three and
then the worst swimsuit come on. Number one, the metal.
Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
Gear metal gear punisher.
Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
I guess what is this?
Speaker 4 (01:14:50):
From what's the context of metal gear punisher?
Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
Let's see and gregorks run. In twenty eleven, Frank loses
one of his eyes and starts wearing brands over his eyes.
He also grows a beer training and spinning image of
salts and make.
Speaker 4 (01:14:59):
A big it's not actually a crossover, no.
Speaker 2 (01:15:02):
No, but yeah, I think I was hoping we would
get like the big belt, like the belt and the
teeth and stuff. But no, we're getting you know, you know,
like that right there. That would be especially the expierment outfit.
We're getting some good stuff, but you know, this is
this is good enough. I still prefer my Punisher clean shaven.
Speaker 5 (01:15:23):
But you know, Alas, can you bring up that that,
like the actual image again.
Speaker 3 (01:15:29):
The little underwear specifically that one.
Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
Can you zoom in? Yeah, okay, we'll speak, I'll get there.
Speaker 5 (01:15:35):
Hang on, what was I gonna say? I think I
kind of said it all. It's like I'm down for it,
but I just need to be okay perfect, Like why
the more I look at that, the more issues I
have with it.
Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
Like just the skull looks so weird on him.
Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
Righter than it usually is, though, Why does it look weird?
It just looks like the Punisher skull?
Speaker 3 (01:15:56):
I doubt it's that bright in the movie.
Speaker 5 (01:15:58):
Is like it's like he's wearing like a normal outfit
and then they just put like a foam like white
skull over him. Because like just the shape of it,
Like it's not even a good bulletproof vest, Like his
shoulders are exposed.
Speaker 4 (01:16:09):
It's pretty inefficient.
Speaker 3 (01:16:10):
I think, Well, the vest isn't supposed to protect all
your shoulders, supposed protect your like priority or when he's
so when.
Speaker 5 (01:16:17):
He reloads his rifle tailor and he empties these clips,
he put these clips on his belly.
Speaker 4 (01:16:24):
Those are those are just vulnerable. Now there's no skull there,
Like someone could literally shoot him in the heart and
he would just die right now.
Speaker 2 (01:16:30):
No, I bet he's got the war machine armor under
there already. He's getting It's like Tack's, hey, don't nano.
It could be fucking nanotic.
Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
Remember look at his one finger on his right hand.
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
I'm preaky. Remember Iron Soon and Finney War was a
fucking hoodie. He just pulled some strings and became an
Iron Man suit. All he has to do is just
like hit the the nose and he looks like he's.
Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
Waiting for his mom to pick him up for school
right now.
Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
He's like the last kid. You remember that John Wegg
on stage and there's the mini version. Have any of him?
Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
Okay, this is not an official.
Speaker 4 (01:17:03):
Phone Spider when it's nighttime and there's like some darkness around,
but yeah, he looks like he's getting is in a
stage photo front pockets on his pants to those are
really strange.
Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
Well, the nights come out of extra bolts and stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:17:20):
Extra John Berthall is looking great though, you know it's
costume a size Yeah, last things. I have nothing to
say about the Zendea thing. That's just good for them
still being together. Oh, the animated projects, I'm pretty hyped
on all these. Honestly, give me, give me more, give
me more animated projects. I'm excited to get a like
(01:17:41):
Spider Woman project, even though it's live uh not live action,
even though it's it's animated. I think we're just we're
just like just dehydrated for Spider Woman contents. And I'm
not counting Miss Marvel because that like just scrub that
from existence. That not a good Spider Woman tail at all.
Do the carpenter, of course, we'll.
Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
Talk about why'd you say miss Marvel?
Speaker 4 (01:18:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:18:04):
Are you taking shots and friends of podcasts? Madam Webb?
Speaker 4 (01:18:08):
Yeah, I think I was trying to say miss Madam Webb,
but her.
Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
Name Jennifer Cornwall or something like that.
Speaker 5 (01:18:13):
It's been a day, it's been a week, it's been yeah,
it's been ten years.
Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
But yeah, I know it's it's kind of crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:18:19):
It's still terrible. Spider Man also, yes, but no, the
Venom one, like, yeah, we have had a lot of
venom content. I'm still down. Let's see what we get there,
Spider Woman and Spider Punk.
Speaker 4 (01:18:34):
I I think.
Speaker 5 (01:18:35):
That's like the best avenue for me personally is just
having it as an animated project.
Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
Yeah, Taylor, any more thoughts on this stuff? Talk about
some of the new stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:18:48):
Oh, I mean yeah, I mean I already said spoke
to the suit. Suit's fantastic or do you really like it?
The villains in here? So Samurai? Yeah, I mean I
really only know him from the animated series. I know
he's in that Wolverine movie, but there they're both very
different representations. I'd say I like the X Men version
(01:19:09):
more than that, the animated version more than the movie
Wolverine versus.
Speaker 2 (01:19:13):
You'd better give them the armor. If he's in this movie,
at least you better have that huge, like huge sword,
big sea like you better not be looking like, you know,
just like a guy with like a silver suit or something.
Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
Yeah. I'm down to get this variety of villains, though,
I think it's a pretty cool roster, just to throw
a bunch of randoms in there. I mean, I'm really
not familiar with I mean, Ramroddy had no freaking clue
who he was, and a few of the others just
no idea. But yeah, this see Scorpion in here, And
I was a highlight watching Homecoming and just tell him.
Mas's like, look that guy, he's finally coming back full circle.
(01:19:43):
We're going to get him in here again. So it's
nice that we're finally touching upon loose ends. But ultimately, yeah,
I'm just I'm really excited. I'm really really excited for it,
and it having a you said, kind of like that,
that darker tone to it, even looking.
Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
I didn't throw that out right. The one that notes
is that the people are saying it's gonna have a
dark tone, similar to Crane last month. They also in
the report put amazing Experimen two. I did not include
that because I don't think amazing Sperimen two is that dark.
Like other than Gwen dying, I do get that that
is a dark moment, but I don't think the rest
of the movie's that dark. But and I don't know
what they could do in this movie other than like
Frank killing people, because I don't think when they're like
(01:20:20):
Zendale will have a huge role, but a small one.
I don't think he just Frank's I don't think Frank's
going that far. He has a code. I don't think
Halt's killing her, but that would be man could you
imagine the drama, you know what, They would never do that,
but think about that's actually they just did that, right,
I guess with ant Man, Green Gone kills ant Man
and he's gonna save Green Gone. That's why I know
(01:20:41):
Home's so good. But that's where I just thought, like
if Hulk accidentally killed MJ, like, how would he deal
with that? And Frank, the whole time will be there's.
Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
No redemption for Hulk if Hulk did.
Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
It, Yeah, but there's no redemption for Goldbla And they
saved him, right. They didn't kill the faux last movie,
so they don't kill So it's the same situation, isn't it.
Default Norman and Godblum are two different people. Hulk and
Banner are two different people. Don't think I'm not saying
smart Hulk kills Jam sayings smart Hank does. I'm saying
Savage haulk does it. So what's the difference of him
(01:21:10):
saying Norman and not saying Bruce.
Speaker 4 (01:21:13):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
The difference is there's a Toby involved.
Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
But Frank, Frank, Frank, I'll help you Hulk kill Yeah. No,
I mean he's gonna help Spie Man kill but no.
The hope is now that. Uh, he doesn't need a
Toby now, right, He's a man now, he can just
make that decision for himself.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
I should hope. So, yes, a dark tone. Yeah, I'm
always down for a dark tone. Let's do it. We
got Yeah, the Punisher being in this is just so exciting.
It's really exciting. And I like the suit. I think
it's it looks really really cool. Uh, and just it's
it's an upgrade from his Netflix days, which I don't
(01:21:57):
mind the Netflix version of like his Born Again version
and look and all that. But I'm happy to see
it just be more like. It gave me like crossbones vibes,
kind of remember him from Civil War, but in a
good way, a better way.
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
I don't like that.
Speaker 3 (01:22:14):
What else have you got here?
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
And they popping off, you know, emotional support. That's good.
It's just so she's not filming a lot of scenes
or any scenes in Glasgow. She's just there chilling with him,
just chilling, chilling. Engage. They are engaged. They are officially engaged. Okay,
I think just everyone knows.
Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
It's like an unkept secret on secret.
Speaker 3 (01:22:39):
It reminded me of the that video where she was
being sworn by other reporters and Tom like Dolphin dives
in and just like pulling.
Speaker 2 (01:22:46):
Al I can't see there's car, Like he's closed music.
Someone's probably done that somewhere.
Speaker 3 (01:22:59):
Yeah, oh man, But uh yeah. Other than that, I'm
I'm really stoked for it, and I mean getting into
Spider Punk. Uh yeah, I need to rewatch Spider Verse sequel.
I think I've only seen it the one time in theaters.
I've seen the first one many a time, but the
second one I need to rewatch and just kind of
like touch base on on all that because that was
another hype moment too, when I'm watching Homecoming and you
(01:23:20):
see Miles's uncle in there and then just having Glover
pop in as spins Uncle spins Uncle spins up. Yeah,
then having Spin's uncle pop in as.
Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
Oh gosh, let's just gouy do with spider Punk.
Speaker 3 (01:23:34):
Because he's when he pops up in Spider Verse, the sequel,
the second one Spider Verse.
Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
Sure, but you're talking about it was great to see
miles uncle free pop pop and you're talking about like
the bad Miles Morales. What does that have to do? Yeah,
what does it have to do? That's not Spider Punk.
Speaker 3 (01:23:48):
Because he could pop up in Spider Punk.
Speaker 4 (01:23:50):
You never know.
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
No spider Punk will be after so I think they're
gonna everything will be resolved in Beyond the Spider Verse
and then they'll be done.
Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
So is spider Punk after this third Spider Verse movie?
Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
I would think. So they're writing this movie now where
Spider Verse three is out in twenty twenty seven, So
I'm gonna think, unless something really goes wrong with Beyond
the Spider Verse, I'm gonna say spider Punk is gonna
be after. So I think what they're gonna do is
they're gonna resolve Miles, Peter B. Parker and Gwen's story,
spin Spidey and Ghost Spider. They don't reveal all their stories.
They're gonna settle that, and then they're gonna go on
(01:24:21):
go off in different directions with new characters, hence Spider Woman,
Ben and Spiderpunk, different sunse That's.
Speaker 3 (01:24:26):
Okay, Uh yeah, venom U getting an animated film, I'll
remain optimistic. I'm a little venomed out to be honest.
Unless the MCU does something very venomy that I'm all
for it, like going to frank Castle. He just gets
he injects himself with hog blood, the symbiae latches onto him,
he gets the spirit of vengeance. He just turns into
a fucking nightmare. And then Spider Woman. Uh is that
(01:24:53):
Gwen or is that the Spider Queens Spider.
Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
I don't know because in the movies, I think they
do call her a Spider woman, but I think they're
talking about like the the Jessica Drew one. But I
would not. I don't want that. I would want Spider
Gwen and especially with her world silk.
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
Yeah, but well yeah I do that, do Gwen and
get Hiley Steinfeld back in there, and yeah, it's just
have a good time. Yeah, it's easy, billion dollar movie
right there.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
I won't go that. Well yeah, yeah, No, I about
superfore that's great, darker tone. Sure, let's see it. You know,
let's good grain concept. But let's see if they go
and then again into the editing room and they go
it's too dark. Uh. Scorpion, Yeah, I think he's a goner.
But if he's a prominent role, would be down if
he was like like villain b for a bit, kind
of like how Schocker wasn't Homecoming. But let's make a
(01:25:46):
better version of that. Because I didn't that's I love Schocker.
That's another one I hold in Higher re Garden that
didn't go well. I'm Homecoming. Yeah, Like I said, I
don't know what they're doing with Hulk and was Zindy.
I really don't know because all I pitched before is
I just really like him to be in college and
one classy like bumps into her and there's a really
great scene there and then they tie it off where
(01:26:07):
he reminisces then walks away and then she kind of
has like in every movie where she like thinks where
she remembers them but doesn't, then has a moment then
walks away. I just don't know what you know what
I'm saying though, right Like it's like remember when you
know Peterto he kisses done to the nspire one they
kiss and walks the shit like touching her lip and
everything like that type of moment where it's like, Okay,
I do know this guy. You know. I theorize to
(01:26:29):
the boys, Uh, when we're seeing Naka got that maybe
it's just peers on a rooftop watch and just Nen
and her get it on, which would be awful, but
you know that would be important. So I don't know
what else, Like, I just really don't want the movie
to end with her knowing he's like spier Man, like
like remembering anything. I'm down for that that's gonna happen,
(01:26:49):
of course, right, it's gonna happen in this trilogy. But
like even I think I'll accept it the next movie.
I think it's a long enough break and then hopefully
number six you give them their happy ending before you
brutally murder him and spin takes over. That's how I
would go. But Humer, Frank, yeah, I remember what you did.
You didn't let me kill Hulk, you kill my daughter,
(01:27:10):
my wife. He's just every Friday. I didn't mean to
do with mister Castle. But no, I yeah, so I'll
be curious. But again we don't know. Uh I tell
us what Tress told you, but you guys, I didn't
post in the notes. But like, we still know who
Sadie Sink's playing, And there's this rumor going around that
she's playing this character called Carly, but the whole thing
(01:27:32):
is it's just a cover up for the actual character.
So it sounds like what they might be doing is
like they did was Zenda and MJ, where she was
cast as Michelle, but at the end of the movie
it was like, Oh, I'm you know, my friends call
me MJ. It sounds like they're doing that again with this,
So I don't know, because, like I've said before, unless
she's a super powered character love I've never liked that
in the Spider Man movies. But I can't be with
you because you know, you might get hurt and then like, oh, hey, Gwen,
(01:27:53):
let's start dating. Like that's never made sense to me,
like she has to be a black cat at whatever.
And I still wouldn't mind the whole may Day thing.
I think there's a fun back to the future thing
of kind of if they play it like Spider like
Gwen in the Spider Verse movie, where for the first
half of the movie it's like, oh, like you know,
she he's popping around everything. But I would love it
if there's that big reveal of oh, fuck, like you
are my daughter, and I think it's a fun thing,
(01:28:15):
like your daughter's your same age. I don't want they
would never do like their attracted or anything dating like
you know, like shot a mission possible three. You know, uh, tail,
you had your hand up?
Speaker 3 (01:28:28):
Was there? What was her her code name?
Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
Again? It's a Carle car and she listens like a
scientist or something. So it's like, Okay, that could be
you know, and I hope she's not if her agent
let her play viper bad agent right there, Like I'm
I'm saying like that's somebody that's that's not an up
and coming star wars al I won't go that far.
(01:28:50):
I just feel like that's.
Speaker 3 (01:28:51):
Like, could she be a black Cat?
Speaker 2 (01:28:52):
You know, Carl, She absolutely could. I just don't think
I would love that, especially because that'd be a perfect
Roman situation for him to have, because that's somebody that
could handle himself in a fight, right there, wouldn't be
that worry even though I do, well, actually no, we
can't do that. I love the trope where black Cat's
an older woman and it's a Peter's a young boy.
Speaker 4 (01:29:11):
But I don't know black can take on like a
war machine punisher.
Speaker 2 (01:29:15):
Though well, I don't think she would take him on,
though I think she might have the same ideology had
so that you could have that situation where you have
Frank who's telling you, hey, you should take these people out,
and you have black Cat who's like, hey, you should
take these people out. So that's the situation where they
might not even have to fight. It's just that they
say the same thoughts.
Speaker 3 (01:29:33):
You know. So if you have an older black Cat,
what older women are you casting in there to romance?
Speaker 2 (01:29:39):
Well you can't, like, I don't think, because before there's
a your world, get back on the road, Get back
on the road. I don't. I just play the whole
(01:30:00):
club at that point. You can do now, because one
of my favorite comics is There's Finally Peter decides like
he's gonna be a black Cat and they kiss each
other and then they decide to reveal their identity and
black Cat sees that he's like in high school and
she vomits, like she throws up. She's like, I thought
you were there. I thought you were like a man
(01:30:22):
and stuff. So no, you'd have to go back to
like Homecoming era, And I don't have time to pull
who in twenty seventeen when I cast as an older
black Cat. So yeah, so I'll see and yeah, the
anime films Great Spider Punk was my favorite new character
out of across. I loved the animation. I love the stuff,
just like made me laugh the most. So I think
(01:30:44):
that'd be a really cool kind of universe toal visit
Spider Woman. Like I said TVD, I want to see
who they're doing first, because just because I have less,
even though I could see the fun thing of even
though like they already got made in those movies, I thought, oh,
she's pregnant, she has a baby the day, but they
already have Mayda Parker there, so I don't know. I
think has tons of potential. I think that's cool. I
think the animation style really works. They could do some
(01:31:05):
great stuff with the symbiote, and I think it's one
of these situations where clearly Venom's still a popular character.
He brings the money, but like those movies are starting
to peter off, how do we keep that character around.
I think MC will get to him eventually, because obviously
the symbio was left. That could be in Secret Wars
who knows, but I don't think it's in this movie.
Even though the actor of Scorpion did post a picture
(01:31:26):
of Scorpion with Venom together on his Instagram, so there's
a lot of people buzzing right now, and at one
point Scorpion does get the symbio, but I think that
Venom's still brand so do the animated stuff, and I
think there's tons of potential there.
Speaker 3 (01:31:39):
So does Disney just tell their actors like they just
post random shit to fuck with the fans in the community,
just get people's sauce and up, you.
Speaker 2 (01:31:47):
Know, I think sometimes yes, But like the odd time,
the like when Jamie Foxx posts all the three Spider Men,
I don't think that. But well, we'll take our second
ad break and we'll be back with some Star Wars back.
Speaker 3 (01:32:05):
I tried to fun you did good, You did good.
Speaker 2 (01:32:08):
The fat Foughts have some issues sometimes, you know, it's
I don't do them all the time, but you know,
I forgot to say there were some patroon questions. So
we'll actually talk about them right now. So Kirkland, don't
write that cutout for Star Wars right now. It's coming
in soon. We had what was the other one that
was not? Oh right? We had the one from Tyler.
You should have put that in the beginning. But he
asked if where was a tear that tee, which I
(01:32:32):
didn't know was on Amazon. He soa, what are the
chances we get worth the world starring Ice cuber Viau. Personally,
I'm dying to see why it's a new record zero
on ron Tomatoes. Hey, Tyler, if you know stretch goal,
if we can get to that, uh the hour and
a half mark on our stretch goal, and the patrons
can pick a movie. You can put that movie in
there and we'll do a movie night. We'll do a
watch along. You can join us for that. So there
(01:32:52):
is a chance, there is a chance if you guys
pick up because I think what I've heard is that'd
be a fun movie to watch. I would not be
a damn like opposed doing a movie night because I've
heard it's just all tears a little awful. So maybe
in the future, could it could happen, but I had
not you know.
Speaker 4 (01:33:05):
Is that like a tom cruise war in the world scenario.
Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:33:08):
I think the whole movie takes place of like the
it's like, you know how we're looked like right now.
The whole movie is like ice cream on screen, like
screen sharing and like doing stuff. I think he's like
an emergency operator or something like don't even look at
a trailer because in case watching it. But yeah, but
it's zero percent. But it is like I think all
these different crisis is going around the world happening and
he's like trying to be like get to this room
(01:33:30):
or get to that, and yeah, apparently.
Speaker 4 (01:33:32):
It's it's not sounds like how can we film the
lowest budget?
Speaker 2 (01:33:36):
Absolutely, people say it feels like a movie that happened,
like came on COVID but just came out now, like
one of those where it's like, oh, let's try this out.
But yeah, zero percent and raw tomato, so maybe it'll happen.
So uh. And then the other question was Superman Mike,
We've been telling a lot about this with a spider
Man and box offs, et cetera. I said he posted
a poll about this in Discord, but would love to
(01:33:57):
hear the cruise thoughts with Doom, saying Doom Part three
currently sharing the same release date of December eighteenth, do
you think they'll both stay and hope for the barber
higher effect or will one of the movies said, let's
face a dune get scared off to a new date,
So yeah, what do we think is happening? Because that
is still happening that month? What else is I will
pull up for you. I'm pretty sure Shrek is coming
(01:34:19):
up that month as well. Oh, actually it's a it's
a loaded one, so you got now that this is
big Violent Night too. And then December eleventh, though you
got Jumanji three, December eighteenth you have Avengers Doomsday, Dune
Part three, and Ice Age six. And then December twenty
fifth you have Shrek five and were Wolf, so you
got a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:34:38):
Dune's gotta go. The other dudes came out in like November, right.
Speaker 2 (01:34:43):
No once, November one was in March, so it's all
over the place right now, so it should move it
up or move it back, especially like I don't know
how like this is for showing dot Com. I don't
know if this is updated, but it says December eighteenth
says Imax Doomsday's plus. I'm or sorry Avengers Doomsday plus Imax.
If Dune Part three can't have Imax screens for even
(01:35:03):
a week, there's no way it's going on the eighteenth.
They'll go early. Like to me, you put that on
December fourth with Violent Night too, like sorry, violent Night,
like definitely violent Night, not saying that's a good time
of cash in Christmas movie Dave Harbor. People like that
first one, but I'm just saying, like, and those are
two different vibes too. I feel like big action epic
sci fi or like oh, just let's go have a
(01:35:25):
fun time watch Santa beat some people up where I
don't think event. Don't get me wrong, Dune and Avengers
will not be comparable visuals. Why I'm very worried for
the visuals of Avengers Doomsday with it being such an
even Spider Man like that movie's coming on July and
it's shooting now, it's got eleven months. It's gonna look
we're looking not too good.
Speaker 4 (01:35:42):
By they're making him swing in real life.
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
Sorry, Tom, we don't got the time this time. It's
not even a director's choice, like no, you gotta do
it practical. But yeah, I just think Dune moved to
violent night like so yeah, I think Dune moves a
week or two ahead because even the week.
Speaker 4 (01:35:58):
Before just like painted in this one instead of using like.
Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
You've seen you you gotta buff out like that, even
the week before like Jamanji three, Like Jamanji and Dune
are different crowds as well, too, like I you know.
Speaker 4 (01:36:10):
And I think, yeah, Dune's in its own little niche there,
but I think there's just enough swirling around that you
got a ditch?
Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
Would you any present of you leave it to chance
of getting to Barbenheimer Dylan.
Speaker 4 (01:36:23):
Uh. If I were Denny, Yeah, okay, I'd be out.
I'd be Jetti seeing.
Speaker 3 (01:36:30):
A Dune's Day. I like it.
Speaker 4 (01:36:35):
Sounds nice to say. It doesn't mean people are gonna
buy two.
Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
Tickets, you know, Jamanjie Sweep, I supposed to get the
dune Dune and even Shrek Shrek five, Like hear me out.
I think there is a reality where she's in Shrek,
isn't she yeahs and yeah, don't get wrong. I think
(01:36:59):
there's a a multiverse where Shrek's the biggest movie that
month because I think Shrek five is gonna do Ganbusters.
I think the.
Speaker 8 (01:37:07):
Last ones do like four, well not the races like,
but like I just feel like that, No, I no,
you're right, because I think Shrek Shrek two held the
record for the biggest an film and then they did
start to drop.
Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
I just feel like with Shrek it's been a while.
Like when Shrek four, I just feel like, yeah, like.
Speaker 3 (01:37:25):
It'd be like twenty fourteen.
Speaker 2 (01:37:26):
Twenty ten, so it's gonna be sixteen years. There's a
whole my kids love Shrek, Like I feel like that
has that what.
Speaker 5 (01:37:33):
The Shrek memes have like just outlasted life itself too well, and.
Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
Like look at this, for example, we talked about this recently,
like let me just pull it up, the Leland Switch
animated film. I'll pull up, like, uh, let me get
the box off here. It's not like a crazy Yeah.
So back in the day it made two hundred and
seventy three million dollars Leland Stitch were. Now it's a
billion dollar movie. I think like Shrek can have that
same thing where it's a new Shrek, new audience, and
(01:37:59):
it's that whole thing where we grow up with it,
Me and Taylor and now our kids, like you have
like three tickets sold right there of like parents and
a kid, and then obviously myself like ten other tickets. Right.
So I just feel like Shrek five or I do
think Avengers still hitting a billion. I just think Shrek
could just even still be.
Speaker 4 (01:38:15):
Bigger than like six hundred dollars on movie tickets.
Speaker 5 (01:38:18):
Yeah, I want I won't have yeah rind in those
fucking radio shows.
Speaker 2 (01:38:22):
He's gonna be yeah, yeah, I gotta take the kids
all of Dune, right so you know, yeah, but uh
yeah we'll sleep. But all those movies I don't know about.
I don't think ice Age. Ice Age is another one
that should move. I feel like there's a lot of
people like myself. It's like ice Age or Shrek five
next week, we're gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:38:42):
Wait, you guys never seen an ice Age in theaters?
Speaker 2 (01:38:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:38:44):
Yes, three of them?
Speaker 4 (01:38:46):
Oh wow?
Speaker 2 (01:38:47):
Yeah? I love those.
Speaker 4 (01:38:48):
Least two maybe three?
Speaker 2 (01:38:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
Cool?
Speaker 5 (01:38:53):
Ice Age is I feel like, I'm just surprised it's
still happening.
Speaker 2 (01:38:56):
But uh yeah, I just I feel like the u
S when they bought them, they did like a straight
to Disney plus release, and I feel like you've kind
of you broke the bank on that. Like I don't
think people are gonna go pay to see that now,
but I could be wrong, especially a Shrek on the Corner.
But Taylor Kirkland in Dunsday or are they move in
what's happening?
Speaker 4 (01:39:16):
I kind of like the name of that. I'm not
gonna lie. I think it's gotta move, even though I
do like the name.
Speaker 2 (01:39:27):
Two awful sequels like Shrek, though I don't think that matters,
you know, like it's they had some bad straight to
DVD stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:39:33):
Two awful sequels? Is he talking about Form three?
Speaker 2 (01:39:36):
Three. I wouldn't say about three four. I can give
you Shrek three three had some good stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:39:41):
Umpty dumpty one.
Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
Yeah, that's not that's a whole what if. It's like
what if I didn't meet Fiona and have kids? Three
has Prince Charman taken over and you got like like
being the bad person, Like yeah, yeah, I like some
stuff in there, you know, and don't don't some boots
and donkey they like switch bodies. I thought that was a.
Speaker 4 (01:40:02):
Good gimmick too, right, Yeah, yeah, I don't know it.
Speaker 5 (01:40:07):
I mean, I didn't think Barbenheimer was was a good
idea at the time, which in hindsight that was a
pretty idiotic view. But it's just two very different projects
where I feel like Dune and Doomsday is like its
different but like similar.
Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
Than diagram somewhere.
Speaker 4 (01:40:23):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, I feel like both.
Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:40:29):
I every like pitch I make in my head. It's like, well,
Barbenheimer did it, and you know, it crosses all those
boxes that you're trying to like give reasoning on why
it wouldn't work, Like you said, though.
Speaker 2 (01:40:40):
Different movies though, right, like Oscar dry drama and then
like The Fun it was a good pick me up
and even then like Dune Part two seven to fifteen
really good in post COVID, but like that's not pulling
Avengers numbers.
Speaker 5 (01:40:52):
I yeah, I think, yeah, maybe lightning doesn't strike twice also,
you know with the the Devil Billy on a scene.
But I hope nothing but the best for both projects
that month it's pretty I feel like a lot of
projects kind of have to do some shifting around in
that month. It's a little populated and for myself, like
(01:41:14):
of course for podcast movies, I'll be watching them, but
like December, I'm not itching to go out and see stuff,
you know, like I want to be a family, not
be working and just just chilling with my time off.
Speaker 2 (01:41:25):
Well really are we like well, I guess fucking Aggers
and his Christmas releases. It weren't for nos Ratu, so
it's fine.
Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
But just like I was there for that one.
Speaker 2 (01:41:35):
Yeah, I'm hoping this year, I'll hope be like I
guess where Wolf will be there Dune in Doomsday, Shrek five,
someone will be there for Is that a review geek
for review?
Speaker 3 (01:41:46):
I could see that being a geek erst review. I'm
really stoked for that.
Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
I'm not doing Jumanji three, Ice ahed six or fol Nights.
I'm out on those.
Speaker 3 (01:41:54):
I'm not doing those ones either.
Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
No, November we got Hunger Games, I'm not doing that.
I'm not.
Speaker 3 (01:42:02):
That's another prequel with Young am.
Speaker 5 (01:42:06):
You mey Young.
Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
Hamish and then Meet the Parents four, which I'll happily
catch them you. The only one I'm semi curious is
Narnia November twenty six because that's credit Gerwig, and I'm
very curious how that's gonna go. So I think that
could be a big event thing.
Speaker 4 (01:42:24):
So meet the Parents like tame cast No.
Speaker 2 (01:42:28):
Yeah, and this time. So have you heard the quick pitch?
It's Ariana Grande is the main character. It's called foker Long,
so she Hamish. It's like that type of pitch. She's
the Ben Stiller that go around. So you know how
(01:42:49):
Ben Siller meets the Narrow and it's all nervous. It's
her and fucking the guy plays Jimmy Olsen. Jimmy Olsen's
Ben Stiller's son, and she's the She's meeting them and
they all hate her, so she has to win over,
which I I I know. I think Mike was for it.
I'm very surprised what she did after Wicked. I thought
she had a lot of heat and just to do
Meet the Parents sequel. I don't know. I guess she
wants to do it, but I just feel like that.
Speaker 4 (01:43:10):
Some people didn't like her Wicked. Is that what it was?
Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
No, they love her. She she got Oscar nominate, like
I thought she could have the pick of the litter
to do a bunch of stuff. And I just thought, like, oh,
like the fourth Meet the Parents movie, like all right man,
maybe right, it's like Margo Qualley and fucking Happy Gilmour
she just did because she loves the first one. It's like,
I don't like that you did this, but you know
fair enough and right. Oh.
Speaker 5 (01:43:33):
I was just gonna say really quickly, every time somebody
talks about Happy Gilmore too, they mentioned someone that I'm like,
oh wow, I didn't know that person was in that movie.
It just sounds like a fucking pinata of actors people,
And it's like our.
Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
Geek verses list pretty much like those people are in there,
like hunt all go with his horse rides by at
one point to like says, plus they could be three
on movies. That's a long man thing. Yeah, that's we'd have.
I as a reviewer hope Barberenheimer was even issue, But
as the podcast, I hope that doesn't happen because obviously
(01:44:05):
we pick Avengers to go first. But still just like
messes with algorithms that have to those episodes back. It's
just kind of a mess, you know. Like even like
in November we got Predator and Running Man, which is like, Okay,
that's not as bad, but like I don't really want
to juggle that with the podcast. So there.
Speaker 3 (01:44:24):
Oh, I think Dune's gonna have to move. I love
that name. I think Dune's gotta go. Dune's gotta go.
That's just that's people are you know, Christmas time, you
got your family, you're gonna probably only be going to
see one movie, not be always going to the movies
when you got people from out of town all that
kind of stuff, And I feel like you're gonna bring
the kids to see Doomsday, not Dune unfortunately. So yeah,
(01:44:48):
I think it's.
Speaker 2 (01:44:48):
Just Jamji Jamanji.
Speaker 3 (01:44:51):
Sweep, you know, Jamanji sweep.
Speaker 2 (01:44:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:44:52):
I think Jamanji definitely sticks in Shrek.
Speaker 2 (01:44:55):
Remember Shrek. That's why Shrek. Yes, Like again, even if Doomsday,
like looking really dark and down. He's fucking I don't know,
killing dank Pin's wife and whatever Janet. I think who's
name was, I don't remember her name. It was just
killing who else he's killing, killing Roady for sure. Like
you know, Shrek's the easy going It's gonna be a
(01:45:15):
good time.
Speaker 4 (01:45:16):
Noone cares if those people die.
Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
Yeah, I think I think you're You're right. Shrek definitely
has a strong foundation with its release because it's it's
got fifteen years at least since we've seen the last
one currently, and I mean it's got all these original
six voice actors coming back, well fifteen years at least
right now, at least fifteen yeah, sixteen.
Speaker 2 (01:45:39):
When we get there.
Speaker 3 (01:45:43):
But yeah, I just think that it's going to really
capture the nostalgia. And you're right, it's you got people
that grew up with it. They're gonna be like, hey,
let's bring our case.
Speaker 4 (01:45:50):
To see this.
Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
I say, just hooped that.
Speaker 2 (01:46:00):
They should push that into twenty twenty seven. I don't
know why they're this is like Figgy in Company to be.
Speaker 4 (01:46:06):
Like Christmas Vibe though people like, oh, I like, I'm
seeing a lot of ice right now, So I'm excited
to get ice.
Speaker 2 (01:46:13):
Yeah, Ray Ramondo's not pulling that. I love Ray, but
you know it's not gonna happen. But all right, let's
talk some Star Wars before we continue on. I wish
for the GV tenure ight. I had the young Hamish line,
but you know maybe la oh young Hamish just like
that's it gone over. Uh, star Wars will hit these
if it more quicker, because you know, as usual, Uh,
(01:46:34):
Matt Smith has been cast as the villain and starfighter.
So s it's Ryan Gosamy with Sean Levy directing and
me a gosson that. So you got that going on.
I don't know what you laugh about what's going on
with this?
Speaker 4 (01:46:45):
Every time Starfighters in our notes, it's always misspelled. And
so this time says Matt Smith cast his villain and straighter.
Speaker 2 (01:46:51):
Oh no, I think that's the apple thing.
Speaker 4 (01:46:54):
I'm the last time it happened, I didn't know what
you were talking about. This time, I at least knew
what you were talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:46:59):
The change jed and thenots after uh. And then also
there's some plans for because I remember they announced they're like, oh,
they're doing that trilogy and they wouldn't commit if it's
like episode ten or whatnot. But anyways, they're saying the
post episode nine plans because the plan is Mano's coming
out in Starfighter. They also announced that in I think
it's May, no, I think it's March anyways, for uh,
(01:47:21):
because in twenty twenty seven, apparently they're doing like a
whole year of a bunch of Star Wars stuff Star
Wars fifty, so they're gonna release in a bunch of content.
They're putting a New Hope back in theaters. But apparently
the plan is just that whole year is just to
go really hard on it and the movies. But then
I guess their plans for whether it's this trilogy in
the movies after it's gonna be similar to the man
Oververse with multiple stories, which all right, sure, the first
story will be the Daisy Ridley's New Jedi one. Yeah, okay, sure,
(01:47:43):
let's see that actually happens, and then it'll build twitter
calling event that brings old characters back. So again it's
just like, is that a just a trilogy again where
it's like we cap it off of them from back,
or is it an Infinity War endgame where it's like
we're getting po and whatever, so uh uh, don't throw
to you. I just it's.
Speaker 4 (01:48:03):
This is all a sure Jan situation. I'm just you know,
I know my job is to be here to talk
about this stuff, to try and make it interesting for
the viewers. But this is just like fucking chat GPT
fucking words out tier f tier. This means absolutely not.
(01:48:23):
He talked about these exact same projects multiple times like this.
I don't I could not care less about this, and
I can't even pretend to care anymore. I'm just so
print out by this. Uh So I'm just gonna blow
right past. I'm not gonna waste my time thinking about it.
Matt Smith, though, I had the same reaction as Taylor
did in Discord Today, where he just put the morebious
gift of him doing his little dance there and not
(01:48:44):
sex sex. I just that's what I think, Matt Smith, villain,
That's what I think of now. So hopefully it's different
than that. I guess I'll put it that way. Yeah,
but I think he's good. He kind of looks like,
h your favorite guy there, Travis dom Dom Old Gleason, right,
he was in uh whatever, the other star.
Speaker 2 (01:49:03):
He was a Hucks. Yeah, you think he looks like him.
Speaker 4 (01:49:06):
I think Matt Smith and him have a similar energy.
Speaker 2 (01:49:09):
Yeah, no, Hamage, no, young he should play young Hamish.
I don't know this, Matt. You mean you don't know
young Hamish.
Speaker 4 (01:49:19):
I don't know this reference of this young Yeah you do,
you do?
Speaker 2 (01:49:22):
Okay. So if you know Hunger Games, right, I've heard
of it. Yeah, you've watched them before. Who's Hamish?
Speaker 4 (01:49:30):
I don't remember.
Speaker 2 (01:49:31):
Okay, that's what he Harrelson's character. So the next Hunger
Games movie is all about young Hamish. That's what they're doing.
That's the next one. It's a Prequelmish. I don't know.
I don't care. I don't care what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:49:42):
It's not saying.
Speaker 4 (01:49:43):
This is like it's like a line of dialogue that
was spoken in Mitch.
Speaker 2 (01:49:48):
Hey, Mitch, Jude, Mitch Hey, Mitch. It's not there's no
ways pronounced that way. Hey Mitch.
Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
They call him Hamish.
Speaker 2 (01:49:58):
That's what I was saying, don't gast like me titles.
Speaker 4 (01:50:05):
You motherfucker, you're quick one on I was saying.
Speaker 2 (01:50:10):
And then you pulled that like you brought up here.
Oh my God, Jesus Christ, excess.
Speaker 9 (01:50:19):
Eid God Damn, I realized your new Star Wars villain.
Speaker 3 (01:50:33):
Get to keep the way for the roar.
Speaker 2 (01:50:37):
It's only forty six seconds, but.
Speaker 4 (01:50:43):
You to monetize for this.
Speaker 2 (01:50:47):
That's Aura Farming and right there, I'll take yeah, oh man, yeah,
So like Hamish by the way, I think I'm the
only Yeah, Mats was great. It's the only thing that
disappoints me. I ranted about in the first five years
a geek first, and now we're just there because they
just worry Star Wars is gonna bomb all the time.
(01:51:08):
I just hate that. It's like Ryan Gosling, me a Goth,
Matt Smith. They're all just like recognizable faces everyone knows.
I like my Star Wars. I thought Forcet Wiggins was
the right amount, Like Daisy Ridley Oscars that had been
a few things, same thing. I'm not fin what's his name?
Jump Way Like, to me, that was the right amount.
You get some stars in there, but they're always not
massive stars like Ryan Gosling. Starts already feels like I know,
(01:51:30):
it's just it's it's not the type I like. So
I'm hoping this is a good movie. We'll see in
the rest of these plans. I don't know. I I
don't like autly Dylan's right that a bunch of stuff
good night be true, but let's say it is. I
don't actually really want them to be doing that right now.
I just want them just like just go do one
ray movie and then go from there. Like I thin,
like granted, that was the issue with the sequel trilogy,
(01:51:54):
right that they didn't have a plan and they just
change it up. But I'm just saying, like, don't even
go that far right now, like just get some wins
on your belt and like, hey, you know what, now,
let's do a big event. So it's just like a
carpetfore the horse. But at the same time, like I said,
that did cost some issues last time. I just I
just I think right now it's almost like they're retroactively,
retroactively trying to fix what they did. But it's like
(01:52:15):
the like force wakens last Jay, like they're already out,
Like you can't now be like, well, this time we're
gonna plan. It's like sure, but you kind of bungled
on the big characters like lou con Leigh and then
the new ones you introduced Kylo as well, like you
could like that's it. You can't go back unless you
just reboot a remake, which I said they should probably
just do in ten or fifteen years because I feel
like they're getting themselves kind of shoehorned. But we'll see.
(01:52:37):
So I hope that's not the case. Like, just make
a movie of Ray with some Jedi teaching them and
go from there. If Oscar is again, jump, I want
to come back. Great. If they don't create some new characters,
get some other actors, that'd be fine. I don't need
a big event and let Mando do that. We don't
even know if that's gonna work with Mando. It's just like,
I yeah, I don't know. Especially, it's just even MCU
(01:52:59):
has a lot of problems. Like even the Connected Universe
isn't like a surefire bet to make your things work right.
So we'll see. But yeah, just give me the Rain movie.
Just give me days really as right. I hope that happens.
Speaker 4 (01:53:09):
So yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (01:53:15):
Just feel like we're going with Circles, the Starfighter stuff
and Star Wars.
Speaker 2 (01:53:19):
Well that's actually progressing those Starfire least, right.
Speaker 5 (01:53:23):
Is it?
Speaker 4 (01:53:24):
Have I seen trailer?
Speaker 5 (01:53:25):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:53:26):
But like at least but at least all these other
movies that ever, all these other movies Ryan Johnson, James Bengal, Taika,
none of them had a cast. Right, That's what I'm saying.
There's at least that I'm with you, but once it's
on set, yes, but at least there's other actors and
there's like a cinematographer, Like they've hired people for this
movie that aren't just the director, you.
Speaker 5 (01:53:47):
Know, see, But like this is where I'm at that, Like,
you're correct, you're giving me a true fact that like
we are in a different stage of getting info on
a project that was announced like forever ago, but it
still does nothing to me because it's like I just
don't have any faith that this will will come to flourish.
Speaker 2 (01:54:07):
Really, even Starfire, you don't think it's happening.
Speaker 5 (01:54:11):
I think it's very I'm not taking that because it's
it's probably true, but like what, like my my barometer
isn't changing, Like nothing in me is getting me excited
by this news of like, man, we have an absolute
fantastic actor, like top tier actor who we know can
play just stellar villains, whether it's House of the Dragons.
(01:54:34):
Probably the best part of about the Morby's movie is
just his performance.
Speaker 4 (01:54:39):
His performance in uh what was it last night?
Speaker 5 (01:54:42):
And soho I love this character like I should be
getting juiced on, like holy fux Star Wars Matt Smith,
let's go. And I feel nothing on this news because
it's like like until I actually see a trailer for
it and can judge it and be like, man, we're cooking,
We're entering a new era of Star Wars.
Speaker 4 (01:54:59):
Nothing fucking nothing. I respect that.
Speaker 2 (01:55:02):
Okay, again, I can't beat in your excitement, but I
just no, you got to now excited old time. He's
actually said no, not me.
Speaker 4 (01:55:16):
That's just like no, no, no, yeah, looking like Punisher
in the street.
Speaker 2 (01:55:21):
You know me not excited.
Speaker 5 (01:55:26):
Also, I did mention it, but man, his clothes were
so fucking clean. They look like they were just bought
off of the story.
Speaker 2 (01:55:31):
I wanted to circle back then, Taylor Conversations. We just
recorded episode of that, those last spin off show to
pushing the feed. Every spin off show that we've done
is out there, so I feel like we've done geek Frisks.
Go check it all out, you.
Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
Know yeah yeah, shouts Cantina. Uh post episode nine plans
it's it's interesting and it's scary.
Speaker 4 (01:55:53):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:55:53):
I feel like that Disney could have done a much
better job again at just owning up to that sequel trilogy.
And I feel like it's always been so murky and
I want to know what you. I don't want to
know what you and not just hiding it sleeping under
the rug. They were hard. I feel like it was
a long time before we got new lego sets. Uh
for for that, it was a long time. I asked
(01:56:14):
the questions video game video game adaptations focused on that
era and those characters. Uh, just they should have done
more too.
Speaker 2 (01:56:22):
It was on fire though they wanted to move away
from it. They were people were mad about it. So
they said, look at Mandalorian, Look at Mandalorian. That's what
they were doing.
Speaker 3 (01:56:29):
Yeah, and that's just that's just own up. Be like, no,
this We put a lot of heart and soul in
this project. The actors did a great job, and you know,
and people hate it, then whatever, that's that's on people.
Speaker 4 (01:56:40):
Uh, But I think you're wanting them to assert that
they think it's a good trilogy.
Speaker 3 (01:56:46):
I want them to assert that they have that respect
for the people that came to play these characters and
not just shaft those characters and their project kind of
out to the side. I think that the like they
took time. Yes, they got a paycheck, but I think
you have John Bayega, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, and they
came to play these characters. I think they weren't just
phoning it in like they were. They were actually trying
(01:57:07):
their best. Even though they did get mediocre scripts and
the story overall was very much like kind of sideways
and whatnot, they still tried and then just to have
those representations be shafted or put to the side and
not I see it as not necessarily defended as well
as it could be. That's what I mean when I
say owned up to it, and I feel like that
just sucks because it's shitty for them, and I wish
(01:57:29):
that they had a little bit more. That's why would say, hey,
we're gonna give you give you a Ray movie. I thought,
that's fantastic. That's that that's them embracing that character and
running with it a bit more. And so when it
kind of hits that murky seas, that just it makes
me upset because I feel like Disney needs to grow
up a bit more and really work with that.
Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
So I'm with you on that they should have even
if they thought it was iffy, they should have just
like just protruded success. Just go with it because you
have those people that like and again, eventually it'll be
like the Prequels. Well, the prequels got shut on. I'm
not saying they end up being great movies, but the
people that grew up with them, there's a big fan
base there, and I guarantee this sequel trilogy will have
a big fan base. Al rated, all those films made
(01:58:08):
billion dollars. To me would have been different story Telle
if Ry Skywalker had a solo effect where it's like, man,
this thing plummeted, but it's like, right, Scottworker still made
a billion dollars, which nowadays is like super hard to do.
So it's like, clearly enough people like these things to
still come out and see them in droves. And the
fact that they ye kind of backed away a little
bit from it, just like I don't know they should have.
(01:58:28):
It was tough because it felt like when they first
got Star Wars, they like put down the Lucas stuff
of like, well, let's make our own characters and really
prop that up. And then they did like a reverse
like well let's hide those characters for a bit and
really focused on those original do it all like you have,
like you own it all, like someone out there like myself,
Like he's not my favor but like Kyle runs number
two for me. So it's like it's gonna eat up
(01:58:50):
this or that, whether it's a movie, animated show, et cetera.
But it's like same thing what we have for an
animated show coming out again, Well, here's the Darth Maul chronicles.
It's like we've seen him enough of Darth Maul. We
hear again, like you have like all these characters that
like again, we have so much time in between episodes
six and seven, we know so little of it, but
you know, yeah, I agress.
Speaker 3 (01:59:09):
Yeah, So again the one note here, first story be
Daisy releasing Jedi order. I really like that. That's that's
just amazing to hear, and I hope that that's what
comes to light. I really really do similar to the Mandiverse,
multiple stories, whatnot. I think that this is it's a soundbox,
so let's just start doing it. We don't have to
focus on just the Skywalkers and everything like that. Like
(01:59:31):
there's so many planets and stories that they can dive into,
so that just is music to my years building towards
a culminating event, and you know, that's kind of just
like Avenger style, and I really I'm down for that.
That's kind of as long as it's done properly and
they establish themselves and are not falling apart, like back
(01:59:53):
when we're going to get like Ranges in the Republic
and then that whole thing got scrapped and we're getting
like all these other shows and whatnot. Things just and
I changed. I hope that they just keep things concise
and narrative focused and whatnot. But everything post episode nine
I am so excited for. I think that's a really
really awesome idea, and that's just like, let's keep this
(02:00:15):
galaxy narrative moving forward. There's still a lot that they
can tap into from pulling from legends if they want.
The now Starfighter I'm excited for. And I just I
feel like Disney really wants to put out a movie
focused on star Fighters, Jedi ship or star warships, because
Jedi that's where my mind is. But the last one
(02:00:37):
that they shelled was Rogue Squadron with you know, why
can't I remember her name? One woman director? Thank you
Patty Jenkins. Yeah, they did that whole like sizzle, real
thing showing like the guy were in the rebel pilot
suits walking around or and just talking about pilots, and
(02:00:57):
she was talking about did she talk about her dad
was a pilot in World War or something like that,
just this whole thing. Uh So, now that here we are,
they're trying it again without her and without Rogue Squadron,
they're doing Starfighter and the idea that Matt Smith is
cast it as the villain. Now I want I wanted
(02:01:17):
to just cast it, not as the villain, just cast.
Speaker 2 (02:01:20):
It it just cast the words, just cast cast.
Speaker 3 (02:01:23):
What's all casts?
Speaker 4 (02:01:25):
Like fish cast into the fires?
Speaker 2 (02:01:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:01:27):
Cast you just like he says cast cast it into
the fires. He says cast not.
Speaker 2 (02:01:33):
I don't know about that, but I know Matt Smith
was cast.
Speaker 4 (02:01:36):
It's also not casted your line. It's you cast your line. Cuss.
Speaker 2 (02:01:40):
Really, you know it's cast your line. That's a difference.
They've already run along. You don't need to search it up.
Speaker 5 (02:01:47):
You's got also just realize your background is no longer
a sunset. And I feel like I've just been staring
in your eyes and not the background.
Speaker 3 (02:01:53):
But this is where like a face is yeah behind him,
or a pair of feet young Hamish or.
Speaker 4 (02:01:58):
It just gets like sucked away into the distance.
Speaker 3 (02:02:03):
Yeah, definitely, so Matt Smith being in this movie. Now,
do you remember in twenty nineteen the rumor circulating of
a young Palpatine Matt Smith, rumor he was cast as that.
Speaker 2 (02:02:16):
Oh he wasn't.
Speaker 3 (02:02:18):
He wasn't cast officially.
Speaker 2 (02:02:23):
Okay, officially no, but everybody, everybody, like top reporter, no,
top two reporters are all like, that's who he's playing.
And I think they just fucking freaked out because they're like,
people aren't gonna like that, So just get Ian back.
Speaker 3 (02:02:35):
So you think maybe they were working on another Star
Wars project and he wasn't a tie. It wasn't tied
to episode nine. Maybe it's tied to something post episode
nine that they were playing with. But obviously COVID happened everything.
So they put the brakes on Palpatine as a young
Palpatine and now here we go. Now they're thinking, hey,
Matt Smith, COVID COVID.
Speaker 2 (02:02:54):
No, they weren't even planning episodes eight and nine. They
weren't planning what was gonna happen after that. You just
said they like were scared of the sequel trilogy. We're
getting a sequel trilogy fault, possibly in twenty twenty seven.
That would be twelve years after Forest awakens. No, I
don't think they had any plans for him. I think
they just wanted young Palpatine, and then I got the
(02:03:15):
fans will be mad go with Ian, which I don't
think is a I think that was the right move.
I think he'd be great if you were to do
a prequel. But no, I don't think you're that was happened,
So redempture for him. He finally gets to get hours. Yeah,
watching get cut. All right, let's say our last ad
break and we'll be right back with some trips and
(02:03:36):
we are back. All right, just get a rapidfire. I
throw these all at you, peace and so talk about
ones you've seen whatever Peacemaker Season two, Rental Family, Shelby
oaks him conjuring last rites. Cold Storage. Uh, there was
what was the to Clay put in their train dreams
and then highest to Lois Yet Dylan, go on, whatever
(02:03:59):
you want to say with these trailers.
Speaker 4 (02:04:01):
Okay, cold Storage. I think this looks like it could
be fun.
Speaker 2 (02:04:05):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:04:06):
The visuals are kind of wild, but you know, it's
like a zombiesque thing. This is the one with Stranger
Things guy and Barbarian girl, right, Yeah, that's right, which
I haven't seen her in anything, so that's exciting for me.
I think it's a fun duo.
Speaker 2 (02:04:21):
You have seen her. One thing she is in before
Barbarian a Black Mirre episode, she's in Hanging the DJ.
Speaker 4 (02:04:26):
I'm pretty sure, yes, that is true.
Speaker 2 (02:04:29):
That is true.
Speaker 4 (02:04:30):
I'm wrong, but yeah, I think I think this looks
like looks like it could be a fun time like
zombie ish things, weird things. A lot of green goo
in this movie. Maybe too much green goo if you
asked me, but that one looks interesting. Tell them into
that the rest of these him is this the second trailer,
because I've I definitely remember talking about.
Speaker 2 (02:04:50):
This movie, but I think there was just a teaser
before they got this or something. Yeah, I think it
was like a con like not concent trailer because they
made it, but I think it was like a minute
like kind of showing some stuff off.
Speaker 4 (02:04:59):
So yeah, I'm really curious to hear the impressions of
this one when it's when it's out and people in
the discorder seeing it because it could have potential but
could also be kind of bad. That's the kind of
the vibe I'm getting that one train dreams. That's one
of the Joel I can. I feel like I haven't
seen Edton in a while.
Speaker 2 (02:05:19):
Yeah, he did like a boat movie last year.
Speaker 4 (02:05:21):
But yeah, and I'm not making too boat movies.
Speaker 2 (02:05:24):
He was. Yeah, it was George directed it and it's
like they're a boat racing.
Speaker 3 (02:05:28):
The guys guy.
Speaker 4 (02:05:30):
Yeah, Clooney directed a lot of things.
Speaker 2 (02:05:32):
I think he's like directed like at least four films,
so I never heard of him, like Thank You for Smoking.
IDEs of March, the Boat movie, some other stuff, but
yeah he directs. So there's that fucking movie too he
directed with uh John Krasinski where that's like the old
football and the like they have like the helmets and
the post like it's very like other than IDs of
(02:05:53):
March from He's probably it's like Rounder Rounders. Yeah, it's
George Glee directed him. No, Yeah, just it's such a
Clooney does is not usually I loved I March, but
like it's yeah, it's not really up my bay. Like
he's very old timy, you know, hmm.
Speaker 4 (02:06:13):
Making espresso commercials yeah, but I love George, you know, yeah,
I think that the movie looks really good though, And
you know it said like he's given the performance of
a lifetime or something there and.
Speaker 5 (02:06:24):
One of the one of those anytime he's in a project,
I swear to god, that's on a trailer, it's like
the best performance of.
Speaker 3 (02:06:31):
And up.
Speaker 4 (02:06:31):
It's always he's always doing his best. He's all right?
Speaker 2 (02:06:34):
Did you get that? On over one Season two?
Speaker 5 (02:06:36):
Kirktly, I remember seeing I remember seeing him in the trailers.
Speaker 4 (02:06:41):
As uncle he did.
Speaker 2 (02:06:42):
Yeah, he had a whole like art too, like they have,
like they give him good drama scenes like you stay
the Away from Luke and stuff like me.
Speaker 4 (02:06:49):
In there too.
Speaker 3 (02:06:50):
She's dead, remember, well I don't know the time.
Speaker 2 (02:06:54):
So this is after Luke is born, So this is
the part where Anakin's already been dar Vader Shmi is dead.
Speaker 4 (02:06:59):
So it's like Luke, I can't handle this. Let's forget
about it, forget it. That's cool that he came back
highest to lowest. I think also looks pretty good. I
really like the cast of that one, so I could
see myself checking that one out. But I think gonna
be honest, the rest of these it was dud City.
I think I didn't watch Peacemakers. I haven't seen that show.
Speaker 10 (02:07:17):
Yeah, of course, yeah, yeah, I'll start where I want
to start, which would be with.
Speaker 4 (02:07:30):
Peacemaker Season two. Man, was I not super impressed with this?
Speaker 5 (02:07:35):
With this trailer, I feel like I feel like we
talked about just the like the the dimensional stuff of
what's going on, and then like to actually see it
on screen, it was just like, I don't know about this,
but the humor of Peacemaker is fantastic and it really
worked for me. So I think it'll be one of
those things. Once we get going, I'll just I will
(02:07:56):
start enjoying it a lot more. But yeah, just the
whole premise and plot of what is shown here deterred
me in ways that is hard to really explain because
I don't know. Maybe it's fatigue of multiversal stuff. Who knows,
who knows what it is. But I'm still gonna watch it,
still gonna review it, still hopefully gonna have a good time.
What was the quotes like James Gunn, this is like
(02:08:18):
his best music, his favorite music He's ever had someone
that someone that's promoting his next project. That's something that
he would say, has given the performance of his lifetime.
Speaker 2 (02:08:34):
I know you're wrong. He's your man. Just James Gun's
just becomes such the spin master, like just every everything on.
Speaker 4 (02:08:40):
His mouth he can't use spin because that's that's sure.
Speaker 2 (02:08:43):
Yeah, he's such he's some sort of master.
Speaker 5 (02:08:46):
But yeah it was some yeah yeah, so yeah, waiting
for that one rental family. This just like was tugging
at some hard strings. I feel like, like Brendan Frasier,
I feel like this is just like the era I
didn't watch Whale, but I'm assuming that's like a tear jerker.
Speaker 2 (02:09:02):
Yeah, it's phenomenal. Get on watching Whale.
Speaker 4 (02:09:04):
I gotta be in a mood for for those types
of movies. I watch it, this looks just like it's.
Speaker 2 (02:09:09):
A tear jerker, and like, yeah, you guys should do
a Patreon movie night watch.
Speaker 4 (02:09:18):
Finish with.
Speaker 2 (02:09:20):
Lifetime, right and one of an Oscar so absolute that
he's phenomenal in that movie.
Speaker 5 (02:09:26):
Man, Just like the scene when he like like like
I really like the setup of the trailer when he's
just doing the commercials and everything, but like the scene
when he like first interacts with the with the girl,
I'm like, oh my god, this is just gonna be
a water worker type film, so I'm sure it'll be fantastic.
I'm gonna have to be in a mood for that,
so I'm not gonna seek out this one.
Speaker 2 (02:09:43):
But uh, you Fraser, but man, you're not seeing anything.
Speaker 5 (02:09:47):
This guy's I like the old, the old Brendan Fraser,
you know, and the Mummy and the Looney Tunes Unleashed
shuts up to that movie.
Speaker 4 (02:09:57):
I haven't seen it a long time, so you're probably
right on that one.
Speaker 2 (02:09:59):
I knew.
Speaker 5 (02:10:00):
Moving on Shelley Oaks, this one was pretty uh fucking
weird and just unsettling. So definitely I thought was a
good trailer like setting up of just this mystery.
Speaker 4 (02:10:12):
There's something with like a setup.
Speaker 5 (02:10:15):
Of Okay, this town is fucked up and everybody is
going missing or murdering or getting murdered in this Uh
they see a tape and it's like this person just
shot themselves and they're holding the tapes, Like don't ever
fucking read that or like watch it the the riz. Yeah,
the ring type concept, but it's like why would you
even do that? But then like just the idea of
(02:10:36):
like a family member being that draw I feel like
that is kind of like, Okay, I'll give it a
pass because I can actually see, you know, because I
do have a sister and like if someone really close
to me like that goes missing, that's a family member,
like I'd probably go out of my way to fuck.
Speaker 4 (02:10:51):
Yeah, make all of us. Yeah yeah, So I did
like the setup of what this trailer was. It reminded
me a little bit of Conjuring. Last rites in this.
Speaker 5 (02:11:06):
Reminded you I'm just going horror horror themes right now,
So that that was a weak transition.
Speaker 4 (02:11:11):
But for someone that has.
Speaker 5 (02:11:14):
Zero, someone that has zero fucking attachments to this franchise anymore,
like Conjuring.
Speaker 4 (02:11:19):
Like this was a good trailer. This was like there
is some there the mirror room. Holy fuck that that
was pretty good.
Speaker 5 (02:11:28):
So yeah, I because I've just been so like distance
from the Conjuring franchise, Like I guess minor spoilers.
Speaker 4 (02:11:36):
Like how the fun does this?
Speaker 5 (02:11:37):
These two like make it through all these adventures, like
I imagine one of them are the anthology films? Well,
every Conjuring movie have these two in it.
Speaker 2 (02:11:50):
They just beat the ghost.
Speaker 4 (02:11:53):
Every movie. They just beat the ghosts.
Speaker 3 (02:11:54):
They beat the ghosts. They're very they take like the baseline.
Speaker 4 (02:11:58):
Fucking Scooby Doo franchise.
Speaker 2 (02:12:01):
So yeah, but in real life, none of this happened
to this amount, Like there's no like ther rain warm
was in the hallway being like, and there's fucking doors
flying at it's.
Speaker 3 (02:12:09):
Like in the ceiling and the singing that doesn't happen,
but they emphasize it a lot.
Speaker 2 (02:12:16):
I think the closest one to like is the first one,
as far as even they would say, like to reports,
and I think even.
Speaker 3 (02:12:23):
That is made to more grand last one, I think so.
Speaker 2 (02:12:28):
I think that's always the hook that they can say, well,
this is based on a true story, like that is
the this is the last case, but it's I think
the last case is not where they're fucking daughters in
a mirror room running for life and everything, like you know,
maybe it is who knows, maybe all this should happened,
but I don't think so. I think the first one
because the first one, like other until the last act,
it is pretty low key. It's usual, like the it's
(02:12:48):
like the usual like exorcists, Like there's a stench in
the house, there's markings, there's a dead witch bear in
the backyard, like it's but yeah, but it's not like
this move repeat there's a guy in the act and
he's like hitting the door.
Speaker 3 (02:13:01):
And like, I think the first one was when they
approached the Warrens. I think that was the one that
they the story they wanted to tell. That was like
their go to that they wanted to do a movie for.
So that one definitely holds like that and like top
tier out of all of them.
Speaker 4 (02:13:14):
Okay, cold Story.
Speaker 3 (02:13:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:13:18):
I don't like gross movies, and I feel like it's
gonna be a gross movie.
Speaker 10 (02:13:21):
A lot of.
Speaker 4 (02:13:24):
Goo and head explosions and visually.
Speaker 2 (02:13:26):
Like another comedy role though, you know, spreading his ear
yeah fair.
Speaker 4 (02:13:32):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (02:13:33):
I'm gonna need a lot of persuading to get me
into that one. But and the last one that was
gonna make oh yeah him. I mean I'm just peeking
on football and man, what a crazy football type movie.
And Marlon Wayne's I'm just like super pumped to see
that performance. I feel like he's going to be the
highlight of this adventure. I didn't know anything about this,
(02:13:56):
like until this trailer and what a ride of.
Speaker 4 (02:13:59):
Just like okay, yeah, this guy's going gonna be the
next NFL star.
Speaker 5 (02:14:03):
And then by the end you have like some fucking
thing with horns hitting him from behind and just dissent
into madness.
Speaker 4 (02:14:10):
So I am pretty intrigued by this one. I I
didn't see the date releasing. Yeah, okay, I'll look at
the dates of what's going on around then to.
Speaker 2 (02:14:22):
Determine I'll say that it's okay.
Speaker 4 (02:14:24):
Yeah, but yeah, definitely I'm interested.
Speaker 2 (02:14:28):
Smart release, like that's around when football starts, right, so
if you're gonna get anybody, I I don't think it's
that for that crowd though. That's the thing where I
think that with the ven diagram of actual the NFL
sit on the couch with a beer and they see
the trailer for him, I don't think, oh fuck, I like,
I think it's more like Kevin Costner's Draft day or stuff,
or like The Longest Yard. Like I don't think Jordan
(02:14:50):
Peele's produced him. And that's no offense to the movie.
I'm not trying to take your spot, but I just mean, like,
this is like I think they're doing the smart thing.
They're doing everything right, but it's just I don't think
that I think this movie. I guess we'll eat it,
but I think the budgets probably pretty small. I just this,
this looked like a pretty fucking weird trailer, even even
for me usually see these weird movies. I took the
Dalan approach, like I'm gonna wait to let other people
(02:15:12):
see this. It almost looked like it was like too
weird for the sake of being weird, Like we're gonna
throw show a lot of really crazy shit in this trailer,
and usually that sells me, but this almost made me think, like, oh, like,
is there not any substance in the movie. And don't
get wrong that if there's great visual stuff, that's cool,
but I don't need to go to the theater for that.
So that's why like this trailer, Like at first I
was in, but by the end, I was like, oh,
(02:15:33):
I don't I don't know. It looked almost too music
video wee in a bad way.
Speaker 1 (02:15:36):
You know.
Speaker 5 (02:15:37):
You know what pupped in my head while I was
watching this, especially by the end, is like Spiderhead and
you know you and I did that review and that
was kind of disappointing. But yeah, just similar type of
like weird stuff going on and not having a full
grasp of what that is.
Speaker 4 (02:15:52):
But yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (02:15:54):
Last thing I'll say is in Clay's comment highest to low,
I thought it was like a Maddie ring Keen situation.
Speaker 4 (02:16:01):
I did watch the trailer, but it was just funny
when I first read it.
Speaker 5 (02:16:05):
It's like, hey, he wants us to do train dreams
and then rate them highest to lowest. I'm not a
big fan of that that title, but I think it's
a Netflix movie, so we'll see it's Apple.
Speaker 2 (02:16:16):
The crazy thing is it's the first trailer. It's out
next week. Crazy marketing sand ye Apple. Apple gives no
fucks like it's gonna be on the because I think
it's like August in Theater September on their surface.
Speaker 4 (02:16:29):
We thought that Apple had a streaming service.
Speaker 2 (02:16:31):
Yeah, which they shouldn't do that because like F one
is their movie and F one was a massive hit
half a billion dollars. So it's like, I feel like,
in the future of this show certa half a billion.
Sorry if I said million. They should take this stuff
more seriously. I'm not saying this would blow out the
box off, but that just feels like you're putting it
out there to die. Oh, here's a trailer, it's out
next week. Maybe that's their idea. It's like you don't
forget about you really want to see it. It's like, hey,
(02:16:51):
you can see this next week. But and yeah, I
will watch that movie, but I will watch that in September.
It didn't look like amazing to me, but I like
Spike Lee, so yeah, I'll go. Uh I said that
about that? Yeah him, Like I said, I was in
for a little bit, Shelby Oakes, I don't know. I'm
I'm pulling for this one. I will see this in theaterre.
(02:17:12):
I'm supporting this. This is like the living the dream.
This is the guy that started as a YouTube movie reviewer,
and this is him partnered with Neon, partner with Mike Flanagan,
and he's getting the full big push. So like, you know,
that's that's the dream, So I'll see it. This trailer
looked like it's It felt very similar to if if
this was called The Blair Witch Project and it was
(02:17:35):
a remake, I'd say, oh, yeah, that that seems to track.
And I have heard from the festival's good things, but
I have heard it kind of retreads on a lot
like horror tropes, which you know cannot be a bad
thing if you're kind of like kind of readapting them,
but I think there's some fun set up. It just
was missing maybe some tension for me, but I will
see this to support it, and it still looked interesting enough.
(02:17:55):
But I always liked that setup of missing family person
kind of go find them and like you said, a
creepy town. Peacemaker season two, I was a Versu Kirkle
in the last trailer. I was like, Eh, this one
I was in not so much the multiverse thing. I
just like the character arc of Peacemaker is tired of
being a joke and wants to actually try and do
good and be a hero. We saw that in the
last trailer where he's auditioning and they're just making fun
(02:18:16):
of him, but he's not doing any jokes. So I
kind of and like Starlard, like James Gunn is good
at doing the whole like kind of pathetic hero and whatnot.
So yeah, I'm curious what they do with the multiverse stuff.
And I'm curious because James Gunn says this is the
dret sequel Superman, so I do think Superman's gonna be
in this, and I think I think there's gonna be
a lot of fun DCU set up because there was
DCU set up in the Superman movie. But this is
(02:18:37):
like eight episodes all an hour, so I think they
can sprinkle a lot in there. And I'm excited to
see because like I didn't love Superman, but I thought
the Universe setup was a good start, so I'm like, okay,
get me more there, and I like the first season
Rental Family. I can't wait. I'm like, I said, love
the way we'll love Brendan Frasier. Actually, so I'll be
there watching this one. I can't wait. Let's see Conjuring last, right, Yeah,
(02:18:58):
I already said, like I thought some of the to
me sad, like, I don't know, the story doesn't look
like it was much there. I kind of like the
hook of Okay, this is a case they never defeated
because this was the first go around. But some of
the visuals, the shots, like there's that moment she's in
the basement and they got set the hammer and there's
a bunch of red blood like water going over like
like so that's were the same thing. It's kind of
like him that maybe the story's all right that I
(02:19:19):
was like, but if it can give me some good visuals,
I'll enjoy that. That's I'm still too BD if I'll
see that in theaters because it's the same guy that
directed the Last Conjuring, which I didn't love. Cold Storage.
I'm I'm out on that. I feel like that was
a movie that they shot and they're like, Oh, it's
gonna look like this in post and it's gonna look
like that. I think just the effects look too like
straight to DVD sort of for me. But I was
(02:19:40):
interested because, like I said, I'm like, okay, leave me
some students, some comedy stuff now. But uh uh yeah,
maybe maybe on like a v O D at home
in October. We'll see and I think that's oh and
then uh Train Dreams. I will watch that based on reception.
Nothing in that. I love Joey Ederton, it's been a while.
I would actually Joel was directing. He did The Gift
(02:20:02):
and then he did that other movie and he's just
kind of stops. I'm kind of disappointed there. It's kind
of like jose Ghron Levit, he just kind of stopped directing,
which I disappointed because I like both their work, so
I will. I don't know, there's nothing that sold me
in here. Great cast, so we'll see. But even the
director I looked up, like, no films that really spoke
to me, So yeah, nothing, that's a way and see.
(02:20:24):
So yeah, and it's off because.
Speaker 3 (02:20:26):
I, uh yeah, Train Dreams and Highest to Lowest. I
I'm not one hundred percent sure on those if I'm
gonna be rushing to see them, but hey, they're.
Speaker 2 (02:20:36):
Stream You're one hundred percent you're not seeing.
Speaker 3 (02:20:38):
Those probably, Sorry, Clay, Sorry, you know I don't.
Speaker 2 (02:20:41):
See Taylor putting on Trained Dreams with Natas and at
ten at ten am in the morning, am uh cold Storage.
Speaker 3 (02:20:48):
It looked it looked fun, but yeah, I think there's
just a lot of grossness and stuff and I ah,
I'm sure I'll watch it, but I'm not gonna be
rushing to watch that one. Uh him. The whole I'm
assuming demonic kind of connection here has me intrigued. But
that's about it. I will see it, but I'm not
(02:21:10):
gonna go to see it in theaters or anything. I'm
probably watch it closer to Halloween just to kind of
get that kind of like spooky vibe going from it,
which I'm sure it's gonna be like a bit of
a mind fucking spooky and PARANORMALI ish, at least my interpretation,
I could be totally wrong. I guess I gotta watch
it to find out. But I'm interested. At least Shelby Oaks.
This one gave me like, oh yeah, Condriyyes, it gave
(02:21:34):
me a sinister kind of vibe in some weird way.
I think I'm interested, but I'm not. Again, I'm not
rushing to watch this one day one or anything like that,
but I'm curious. Rental Family, Yeah, this one looks like
it's gonna be a feels and Brendan Fraser is just yeah,
(02:21:54):
I'll watch the Whale and then we'll watch Rental Family.
Speaker 4 (02:21:56):
Back Back, Girls Invited, just.
Speaker 2 (02:22:03):
Just and suits. Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:22:06):
Peacemaker season two, I'm I'm all for a multiverse kind
of tie in. I really liked that kind of concept
and so for them to be doing it here, I'm
all for it. I just had to laugh when the
trailer played and James Gun just threw himself with a
start to like, here's the new trailer for.
Speaker 2 (02:22:20):
Peacemaker season to enjoy, John Cna So when.
Speaker 3 (02:22:23):
Had John seen it? Well? I never saw that one.
They must have cut it. So they put James Gun
one in front the.
Speaker 2 (02:22:27):
One I watched the day had John c.
Speaker 3 (02:22:29):
Did it really a one?
Speaker 4 (02:22:31):
Taylor A.
Speaker 3 (02:22:32):
I went, did I watch the wrong trailer? Did the trailer?
Speaker 2 (02:22:35):
Yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (02:22:39):
I'm a friend of your father's.
Speaker 2 (02:22:43):
I am James. You gonna get that drop I put
that in there. No, I think you watched the right one.
I think they just had multiple versions of it out there.
Speaker 3 (02:22:56):
There was the one with Zack Snyder saying, you know,
here's the trailer, Fuck you, James. And then yeah, last
but not least conjuring Cold Story.
Speaker 4 (02:23:08):
Yeah, that's gonna be thet movie. This franchise ain't over.
Speaker 2 (02:23:14):
Oh shit, this one's a bit of snowman.
Speaker 3 (02:23:21):
Conjuring last rites. So, uh, this this is one that
really does interest me for the story alone, because I
did a crypto clues about the Smirl haunting a while ago,
and so this is focusing on that that case, and
there's the whole just it's not spoilers, but like a
family was just dealing with these very disturbing things in
(02:23:43):
their home and after a few failed exorcisms, they went
public and that's when the warrants came in and assisted,
and so there's an interesting kind of Yeah, there's an
interesting kind of paranormal story.
Speaker 4 (02:23:57):
With this lead.
Speaker 2 (02:24:00):
What are you doing now? Why you lean further away
from your microphone because your your earbuds so close to it.
You hear I can hear, I can hear Taylor.
Speaker 4 (02:24:11):
You can hear Taylor.
Speaker 3 (02:24:20):
But yeah, just everything about the that case, I find
it really really intriguing interesting, So I'm excited to see
it actually represented in the in this the big screen.
So I'm looking forward to it. Yeah, some of the
visuals were terrifying, some of the stuff, and I'm always
a sucker for them to bring around that about Doll
which they're showcasing in the trailer.
Speaker 2 (02:24:35):
I think new movie coming that's fucking it comedian or something.
Speaker 3 (02:24:43):
The the idea of just that first animal movie being
very rocky, and then you get that second one, A
Creation is probably that for me, that's up there with
the first Conjuring. It's below the first conduing because the
first Conjuring is like number one, but Annabel Creation is
such a fucking awesome movie, and the third one to
just being like House of Horrors, being in the Warrants
Home and then all the demons come out to play.
Speaker 2 (02:25:08):
This one cold story.
Speaker 3 (02:25:11):
Yeah, but I'd love to do like a full like
retro with you guys, do like the non the none

Speaker 3 (02:26:11):
You'll do all of them. Yeah, if they have a
movie called the Conjuring Cold Storage, Okay, James Watt, I'm

Speaker 2 (02:26:21):

Speaker 4 (02:26:24):
I'm done?
Speaker 2 (02:26:25):

hour GV Day stream, and we promise you don't not
be born
