nineteen sixty seven Super Bowl, whichwas played in Los Angeles at the Coliseum.
Of course, it was a GreenBay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs

Game was broadcast in color on NBCand on CBS, which in the day
CBS really didn't televise all their namesin college is certain ones and assumed.
The Super Bowl at that time waswas just called the AFC NFC Championship game.

That was the whole situation in thatregards, So you know, that's
how it's got started. There's alsothe urban myth of who actually came up
with the name super Bowl all rightnow, the calf Pete Roselle, who
was the commissioner of the NFL atthat time. He was trying to come

up with the name, as wasthe head of the AFL, which of
course was Lamar Hunt. And Huntthis is the orbit. Whether this is
true or not, it is thelegend how it got to that name,
and that was Lamar Hunt's daughter cameup with the idea that you know,

she had a super ball, whichwas a little toy at the time you
could throw and bounce in the seventeendifferent directions. She said, why I
call it super Bowl. It's abowl game, and so her father thought
that was good, ran up bybet Roselle. The rest is history.
Whether that actually happened or somewhere backin the minds of you know, of

Roselle and and Lamar Hunt they cameup with the name, I don't know,
but the clever side of it wasthat that was the concept. Now
as we know for or this isfifty you know, fifty six, as
we know, um last year wasthe first time a team hosted the game

in their own town and also wonthe game, you know, hometown.
Now we have a chance two yearsa row for the same thing to happen
where a team hosts in a teamwins. So after fifty five years of
of not not happening, all ofa sudden we get it back to back.
That's right, asterly enough. MatthewStafford has a chance to become the

third quarterback in summer of Bowl Historanwin the title in his first year with
the new team. Who I'm I'mgonna guess and that's exactly what we see.
Hundred percent of you said the firsttime they're with the with the team
that's coming in the third hanging inthe third quarterback its first year with role

in his first year of the newteam was was Jim plunk At one of
them? Yeah? Who were there? Well? What of that happened last

I was gonna say Trent was prettydecent um, you know, right,
It's just like Brad, Brad Johnson, Rex Grossman. You know guys
who won Super Bowls who you knowwere or got to Super Bowls. Yere
who were services of a quarterback,right, you know, for all intensive
purposes, you could say that thatRyan Tannehill, even though I think it

was a little better than both ofthose guys, was brought in that kind
of situation. So anyway, superBowl has been fun. It has started.
It started in the nineteen seventies,the advertising aspect of it. Um,
it wasn't until the nineteen eighties beforewe got what we now see as

a Super Bowl extravaganza halftime show where, in essence, you know that actually
is a show that is put onby NFL Entertainment. It's a separate entity.
It's a separate remote truck and crewand everything is different from the game

itself. This is a concert andit's produced as such. In this few
year, it's going to be you'rebasically a homage to wrap. So we'll
we'll see that come enough. Butwhen the halftime show comes thro out of
means that I can you'll get astay because I have seen a good halftime
show at my opinion, since twentyten. We're there. Yeah, that

that was pretty good. Um.Favorite super Bowl commercial? You have a
couple that stand out, like Ialways like those were always entertaining. Yeah,
the bud balls worked fun like yeah, yeah, I UM, of

course the most the one that everybodykeeps that uh, people talked about for
years and years was the Coca Colacommercial with Joe Green where he tossed the
jersey to the kid. The kidgave him was Deca Cola. Um,
there's there's been some pretty There wasthe first Apple commercial, which was very

freaky. You know, we hadall of these kind It was all shot
in black and white. It wasvery cinematic and all that crazy. Um
so, and of course it wouldn'tbe a super Bowl without Applydesdale for me
the bush. So you know,there's been some some fun ones and there's
going to be some fun ones thisyear as well. Commercials with any white

yeah, yeah, they were good. Um oh the one, uh,
the Volkswagen commercial where the kid waswearing the Darth Vader helmet and his father
was flipping the lights on and offfrom the from the kitchen and watching out
the windows, starting to see howthe skidd was freaking out because he could
just he could make the lights goon and off with his with his hands.

Um so, yeah, there's talkingabout James buddy. Hey, just

Super Bowl five in Miami. WasIt was the O'Brien kick and Ernie
of course, he who for manyyears was the pr guy for the Baltimore

Colts and then moved up the chainto an assistant general manager and then went
with George Young Tom to the Giantswhere they built the team that made parcels
famous. Um Ernie, of coursehe was was lamenting on the day that

Super Bowl five was was um beingheld that um He was on the field
during pre games, which is alsoone a PR person was doing, one
of them to be on the fieldtogether when he won't be up to the
booth working the press box. AndJim, you know, he was the

last of the thing that is straighton kicker and he wasn't making anything.
I mean that was he hit.He had everything, but the you know,
he hit the crossbar, and thejoke was, you know, he
was He's basically kicking the dirt.He wasn't hitting the ball problem and so
allegedly according to court you know too, of course he m Ernie's on the

way up in the elevator at theold Doorer's bowl and he says to the
reporters, for God's sake, youknow, I hope this game doesn't come
down to a field goal, becauseif it does, we're screwed. I
mean, because Jim isn't making anything. Of course, it does come down
to it was, and obeah,it happens to go through the uprights for

winning. And the funny thing aboutthat, if you recall the Super Bowl
three, that was the famous thingwhere Carol Rosenberg got really mad at at
Don Shula for you know, losingthe game to the Jets, which was
the first time the AFL won.And ye game too, absolutely, And

then you turn around and just twoyears later they win, but this time
they're winning as a member of theKFC and not a member of the NFL.
So I was gonna ask Evin,but since here I'll ask you speaking
of Joe, Willie Davith and donChola Cup Baltimore colts that game by starting

Earl Barrel or Johnny and Nice Iwould say he didn't because two things.
One, Earl Morral was more thana service in the quarterback when he never
got the credit. He was verymuch like a Frank Wright, who you
know from the Buffalo Dage, right, So, so Earl Morrell was not,

you know, just a guy bodyyou throw out there. He was
a legitimate quarterback. I honestly don'tthink, and this is heresy, I
don't think John United would have madeelected difference in that game, they scored
their seven points in United South.The field. Great, he was on

the field. Um, you know, I just that was so far at
the end of his career that Ijust don't think that that was the you
know that if you started beginning,would have changed much. Um. Well,
I just ask because you look atmoral moral you know he went to
my I mean he didn't, youknow, he did the same thing there.
He's earned for well that he hadsupplanted by Greasy. He's gonna go

But you could make the same casethat you wouldn't have been in that Super
Bowl if he hadn't played, becausehe led the team there. You know
again, was he the greatest quarterback? No? Was he better than you

talked about just a few minutes ago, like a Trent Dilf or somebody like
that. That's his job, that'swhat he was doing. Um. But
I don't think in Super Bowl three, I honestly believe without a question that
it was a game where I don'tknow whether the team wasn't prepared or whatever

you wanted to say, but Ijust think the Colts took way too much
for granted in that game. Um, and then the Jets did. And
it was kind of an ironic thingbecause if you remember, we view Bank
was coaching the Jets, and ofcourse you had done Schulla coaching, you

know, UM, the Colts andEubanks and and Chula. You know,
Shula is part of the EU Bankstreat so you know, we've been so
except that you had the U,the Master, and the H and the
students, and on that particular day, the Master beat the suit. Um.

But then there was the famous HCarol Rosenbron telling his son and everybody
else and Shula, and Shula askeds. In those days, all coaches were
one year contracts, and he askedif he was coming back, and Carol
Rosenblom was off in Hawaii and said, well, you know, I'm not
going to talk about it. TiI get back, Joe, Robbie calls

and asks if I Shula, youknow, wants the job in Miami.
He's offering him. Why some moneywas playing in Baltimore. Surely goes in
talks to Rosenblum's son says, youknow, I really need to figure this

anything until he gets back. SoCarol Rosenblum finds out by picking up the

Bengals beat the Raiders twenty six nineteenin the wild Card. Everybody remembers the
questionable touchdown. They asked Tyler Boyd, where there's nagnadvert and whistle that then
the official read to say, wedidn't blow a whistle, even though you
could hear it on the replaced dogsare around the stadium. Yeah, I

don't even know what their excuse wasafter them. I just knew that they
weren't effishing any more games, andthen we talked to Bill Binder about it.
Then they went on to beat Tennesseenineteen sixteen in the divisional round,
just by Joe Burrow getting hammered.He got sake nine time in that game.
Of course, they were helped begthe right Tannehill through three interceptions,

louting one of the first player thegame, one when they were in the
red zone the third quarter, andjust camping off one their last play from
scourage. So I guess that's thecoming full circle. You can started with
an intercepting with an interceptence happening right, and then of course you know they
were now twenty one to three inthe first half of the Chiefs. They

the run the Rams are not goingto. The Rams will try to rush,

make it look like they're going tohave four or five guys up on

There's very few defensive situations that Staffordand you know has not same before,

so that gives him an advantage onthat. But my question to you is
the Bengals run that, you know, run the the offense like so many
teams do. Now, whether thequarterback is never under seven, if you've
got the edge rushers that the Ramshave and they do have too are the

Does it make more sense for youliterally to come up to Lash Grimmage and
go from there, not giving theedge rushers time to get to potentially to
Joe Burrow Um And and you know, to be honest, Cinciaty does have

a running game. They can runthe ball with it. There's a little
more flexibility they have than you know, than the Rams do. So what
do you know is one Cincinnaty goessix or seven man protection because if you
look every single pretension for them,all their offensive lightning, their tight ends
and the running backs or below averagewhen it came into pass blocking the regular

season, that doesn't both well here, well, No Earl was sax fifty
one time in the regular scene,all times in the playoffs. If you
throw in the thinks that Brandon Allentook they were order vags for since they

So we'll see. But we're nexton our look out on the good
jail of the team. If youlook, the Rams were fifth in the
league and dancing it to two seventythree one year game. They were twenty

woefully underappreciated. I think, umbut Joe Burrow just keeps you know,

doesn't matter if because sack nine times, he gets up and he he keeps
moving on. So I know thatthere's a lot of um, a lot
of the country who's jumped on theI love Cincinnati Bengals because they're, you
know, the underdog, But tome, I don't know talent wise,

if they can match up with theRams, yeah, that's gonna have for
the What you said, Sure Burrowgot back up against Tennessee, but the
Rams, uh, if he doesn'thave time to throw, the Bengals are
gonna be in trouble because, likeI said, that's their friend. Butter

and Jabar chains make sense, isgonna have a tough time running the ball
against that front seven as well.Let they hit a bunch of big path
played earlier, which is gonna makethem dimensional. Well, I think one
