Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is the One Big Beautiful Bill a conservative triumph or
a physical time bomb? Remember, we fight for what's right,
because it's time to go right.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Go right.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Welcome to hashtag go reat News. I am Peter Boyken,
bringing you a constitutional perspective and the courage to break
down what others won't touch. Today we're digging into the
One Big Beautiful Bill, a massive piece of legislation that
just scraped through the Senate and now heads back to

(00:53):
the House before Independence Day. And we're watching a fresh
political storm, the Surprising Few between Donald Trump and Elon
Musk that's rattling conservatives, Wall Street, and big tech all
at once. Here's the latest on the bill and the Few.
On July first, the Senate narrowly passed the One Big

(01:15):
Beautiful Bill Act, also known as HR one, by a
razor thin fifty one to fifty vote, with Vice President
jd Vance casting the tie bringer. This bill locks in
Trump error tax cuts, boosts funding for border security and defense,
and rolls back key green energy credits, but credits warned

(01:40):
it could add a number two point eight to four
trillion dollars to the national debt. While conservatives applaud the
economic boost and border protections. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has
blasted the plan as physically reckless, taking aim at the

(02:01):
impact on ev incentives. Trump never wanted to back down,
fired right back, threading the strip Tesla's subsidies, and even
suggesting Musk might want to rethink where Tesla parks's factories now.
This feud rattled Tesla's stock and sparked a wider debate

(02:22):
over whether the bill is truly pro business. Are just
picking winners and losers now, I want to throw my
opinion here for just a moment, not picking sides. I
support Donald Trump. I applaud Elon for his help. I'm

(02:42):
gonna play devil's advocate. I can understand when he brought
Elon Musk in to create Doge or work with Doge.
Elon enjoyed the spotlight. He wanted to help Donald Trump
save money, save the government from overspending. Like Donald Trump
and many others walked away from the Democrat Party, had

(03:05):
went more and has to go right to the Republican Party,
and Elon was trying to save money and sadly, in
the long run that money wasn't saved. And now all
of a sudden there's a big bill that's going to
spend more money. So we can understand that Elon is

(03:29):
very upset. We also understand that Donald Trump doesn't back down.
So we're gonna find out what happens in the future. Now,
what's in that bill? So what's inside the sweeping legislation?
The One Big, Beautiful Bill slashes the corporate tax rate
from twenty one percent to fifteen percent to incentifize domestic
manufacturing and bring jobs home. It eliminates the alternative minimum

(03:51):
tax for wealthier Americans and extends family tax breaks for
the middle class. It dedicates nearly seventy billion dollars to
expand the Golden Dome border barrier. It adds more funding
for ice and toughens asylum screening. Meanwhile, it guts renewable
energy credits for solar and electric vehicles, the very credits

(04:15):
that helped companies like Tesla fry, and pushes more investment
into fossil fuels like offshore drilling and natural gas. Supporters
say it's about American jobs, energy independence, and border security.
Credits say it's a physical sugar high that will bloat
the defit desinit while undercutting America's future energy needs. My opinion,

(04:42):
I would hope that we do work on renewable resources,
solar power, win alternative energy, and kind of move beyond
our fossil fuels. But you know, we got to do
what we can do at this point. And if drill
bab drill works, then we're gonna drill, baby, drill. And

(05:04):
you can actually understand why Elon might be a little
bit upset about this. Now let's talk about the oh
oh yeah, and the bill is supposed to include our
no taxes on tips, which is excellent for a lot
of people as well. Now let's talk about the spending
cuts debate. The elephant in the room, though, is the

(05:24):
spending cuts that never showed up. Republicans promised the DOGE Initiative,
the deficit oversight and government efficiency plan to root out
waste and balance the books. Elon Musk and other business
minded conservatives once praged DOGE as the key to making
these big promises sustainable. Yet when it came time to

(05:47):
pass the bill, these cuts were scrapped or watered down
until they were meaningless. Now, watchdogs and physical conservatives alike
warn that this big, beautiful bill could become an ugly
burden on our national debt for decades to come. I
would like to say that it's sad that in the

(06:12):
past the Republicans have complained that the Democrats were passing these,
you know, build back better giant omnibus bills, and then
when the Republicans come in, what do they do. They
go passing some big, beautiful bill. I would like to
see a reading of the bill. I would like to
see things in the future broken down and passed individually

(06:38):
instead of the business as usual bureaucracy that we see.
And I do worry when they saying every year that
they're going to shut down the government. Shut down, the government,
shut down the government, And here we are spending more
money than apparently we don't have. But at the same time,
we need to spend this money. So I'm hoping in

(06:58):
the long run it's going to save us money and
bring back jobs and help our government.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
We don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
The future is uncertain, but it always is uncertain. So
let's talk about the social and border impacts. And then
there's the human side of this ledger. The bills new
work requirements for Medicaid and SNAP means millions of Americans
must work at least twenty hours a week to keep
their benefits. I'm not much of a fan of that because,

(07:28):
for one, where's the jobs. People say they might be
jobs out there, But for a lot of people who
are on these plans, it's not so easy to go
to work. I mean, in order to go to work nowadays,
you have to have a vehicle or some sort of
transportation to get there. And if you get a vehicle
there you go car payments, maintenance, insurance, etc.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Etc.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
You go on a bus and everything you have to
pay for that, etc. Et cetera. That's more money. Those
places won't hire you for just twenty hours. Some people
will put your twenty hours, but like work you three
or four hours a day. I think it's going to
cost a lot of undue stress. I would say yes,
if you want them to go to work, they can volunteer.

(08:16):
They could just have a job. Maybe it's one shift.
Because you're trying to prove that people should work a
little bit. I'm worried it's doable for suck but for
the elderly, people with disabilities and single parents, which they
claim they're making some exceptions, but there's always outliners, especially

(08:39):
when it comes with disabilities, because it's hard to sometimes
qualify for disability. You're not disabled on paper, but you
are our disabled. And what happens is that can mean
losing healthcare or food assistance that they can't live without.
And then what do we end up with a bunch
of sick people that are hungry? So what gives folks? Meanwhile,

(09:02):
the seventy billion dollars for border security may strengthen our defenses,
but critics fear a surge and detentions, deportations, and backlogs
that can harm legislative silence seekers speaking fleeing violence. Securing
our borders is vital, but so is balancing security with

(09:22):
compassion and due process, no matter way you want to
consider due process. Now, let's break this down with the
hashtag go right with Peter Boykett myself a constitutional perspective. Today,
we stand at a critical crossroads in our nation's history.
The One Big, Beautiful Bill has passed through the halls

(09:44):
of Congress and now Senate, promising sweeping reforms that could
shape the future of our great constitutional republic. But as
we take a deeper look at what this bill entails,
we must ask ourselves as this truly the right path
for Amurath or are we once again being swept in

(10:05):
the politics that fail to account for our future financial stability.
The bill before us promises significant reforms aimed at stimulating
economic growth, enhancing border security, and promoting energy and dependence,
goals that at face value, many of us support. Yet

(10:27):
beneath the surface, there are serious concerns that must be addressed.
It's time for us to bring our constitutional lens to
bear on this legislation, because, as we know, the strength
of our republic lies not just in the actions of
our elected officials, but in the integrity of the system

(10:52):
they are entrusted to uphold. Let's start with the financial
raplifications this bill proposes, and increase in the national debt
ceiling by a staggering possibility of four trillion dollars. For years,
we've heard the rhetoric of physical responsibility, and it's not like,

(11:13):
let's get physical. I know I might announce it wrong,
but that's fis CEO physical responsibility, tigening belts and making
tough choices. Yet here we are on the brink of
an even bigger debt load that could stretch our fragile
physical system to its breaking point. Proponents argue that the

(11:38):
tax cuts and spending measures will pay for themselves through growth.
But let's be clear, these tax cuts are not fully
offset by spending reductions. Without real cuts, this bill risk
pushing us closer to a debt crisis again again again.

(12:00):
As constitutionalists, we must also look at the human cost.
The work requirements for Medicaid and SNAP could strip away
critical support from millions who can't meet them, people with disabilities,
the elderly, and caregivers. Now, we believe what we believe

(12:21):
in the dignity of work, but we must also protect
the vulnerable. And while stronger borders are vital, we must
balance security with humanity. Seventy billion dollars for border enforcement
must not come at the expense of due process for
legitimate asylum seekers. So here's our hashtag go right call

(12:46):
of action. This bill is not just about politics, It's
about the future of our constitutional public. As citizens, we
must hold our elected officials accountable, a demand they govern
with liberty, justice, and this responsibility at heart. The future
of our nation is at stake, and we cannot afford

(13:06):
to be silent. Any policy must serve we the people
and honor our constitutions founding principles. We must keep asking
the hard questions and demanding real oversight so that government
remains accountable and citizens are protected. The One Big Beautiful
Bill may promise prosperity, but we must stay vigilant to

(13:30):
ensure that vision aligns with the values that make this
country great. Let's move forward, clear eyed, fighting for a
future that respects the Constitution and secures liberty, justice, and
prosperity for all. The passage of this bill marks a
pivotal moment in our nation's story. It's our duty to engage,

(13:52):
question and hold leaders accountable because together, let's keep this
Republicans Republic strong. Thank you for your time and commitment
to the values that matter most. Let's continue to hashtag
go right together and build a brighter, more stable future
for all Americans. And closing the bit, One Big Beautiful

(14:15):
Bill challenges the fund noun fundational principles of our constitutional public.
While it lays out a roadmap for conservative government governance,
it also poses risks to the balance of power and
individual freedoms. As we navigate this moment, Let's stay true
to the Constitution and ensure every policy strengthens, not Weakends
