(00:17):
Welcome to the Got Invention Show.I'm your host Brian Freed, and our
guests today are Kevin and Tracy Parker. They're from Kat Designs and all the
way from Ireland on Got Invention Showtoday and they invented two pairs of glasses
within a case called two pr Glassescase. Welcome to the show, Kevin

(00:40):
and Tracy. Thank you very much, Brian. I know Tracy will be
coming on camera and a few todo some demonstrations. But Kevin, why
don't you start off by telling uswho you are and where you're from.
My name's Kevin Parker. I'm fiftyseven years of age. I'm from the
UK and I've lived in the oiland oiland for the last seven years.

(01:04):
Okay, and what do you doby trade? I've had various roles of
employment, starting with job in theFather's Pub brewing two hundred and sixteen gallons
of beer each week. We havethe micro Bori Brewery as well in as
well as tackling college doing a mechanicaland electrical engineering cause as well. Great

(01:29):
and Tracy, what does Tracy do? Nurtures me? That's good. She
keeps you, she keeps you inline. That's the one Brian. Good
stuff. So Kevin a while,No, you had this idea of the

(01:49):
two PR glasses case as you callit, so two pairs of glasses within
one case. So tell me whatthe problem was that came around before you
invented this. What was it thatreally got this aha moment going for you?
Well, at the end of theday, Brian, I was struggling
to open the glasses cases with partiallyparalyzed and and I said to the Tracy,

(02:14):
I said, what doesn't somebody inventthe glasses case for two pairs?
And it was at COVID at thetime as well. We could only go
two kilometers from the house walking onall that we was playing backgammon, and
I said to Tracy, well, just said, what does somebody invent it?

(02:36):
And she said, we'll do itthen, and love and behold the
two PR was born. You haveyou're paralyzed in one side and it was
difficult for you to open up theglasses case just one of them. But
you're saying that you were carrying twopairs of glasses cases at that time.
Yeah, this guy, I havea reading pair and normal and I was

(03:01):
with one hand trying to bury twoglass cases into one pocket because obviously I
couldn't use me m side, soeverything was done on the left end side.
And lodge to bury two pairs ofglasses case in your inside pocket is
a no no because they won't fit. So you had two issues. One,

(03:24):
it was hard for you to openup a pair of the glasses cases
because they have a spring in itthat's really tight because they don't want them
to fall out. That spring inthere was really very very tight to be
able to open it, and youhave to get your finger nail inside to
be able to lift it open. That's really it, right. And then

(03:47):
not only did you have a hardtime opening one, but you were carrying
two cases and you said, youknow what, make my life easier.
Let me put two pairs of glassesinto one case and then give me a
little bit of an opening here soI can get my finger up there to
make my life easier. Is thatright? Yeah? And also the glasses

(04:10):
case we invented and the wife asenable to carry sunglasses, which larger volume
of case glasses. Sorry, wellthat makes sense. And you know what,
Kevin, there's people that have sunglassesthat want to change over to their
regular glasses or sunglasses and reading glassesor reading glasses, and two pairs of

(04:31):
reading glasses, and people are walkingaround with multiple cases. And this is
the way that you can not onlystore it and keep it around, but
also be able to take it withyou and carry two cases in one.
There are two pairs of glasses inone. Yeah. The case we invented,
Brian was so unique, it wasunreal. But we didn't even expect

(04:58):
the paperwork to get off the door, Matt In the invention company, the
artwork company we used and were toget to this stage of what we've got
now being interviewed for you and theworld wide painting and everything is just remarkable.
Great, why don't we start offby showing the audience what you invented,

(05:21):
Kevin, You and Tracy Hi.Tracy show us how it works.
So first off, Tracy, thefront part that has that that piece to
be able to lift it up issomething that was important to you and Kevin.
Right this way it was easier forhim to open that lip that's on

(05:43):
the outside. Yeah, you havea lift here that comes up here.
Okay, So the two pairs ofglasses go inside each to the left and
the right side, and the toplayers above them cover the glasses when they're

(06:03):
closed and they keep them both secure. Okay, and actually in the middle,
Tracy, do you think that youcould put maybe some some credit cards
or some some bills in there.Yeah, you can put your change in
there, and some contact lenses inthat, okay, and a pill box

(06:27):
if you're taking medication. Can youcan you close that and open it again?
Show us how easy it is toopen the case. Well, you're
using the side, but Kevin wantedto make it easier, right with that
lip in the front, So youhave that extra lip on the top,

(06:49):
Okay, there to keep them closedin that for a sel crow or something
if you really want to just useone side of it and then open that
and then close it again. Okay, Well that's your working prototype, right,

(07:11):
Yes, it is great, allright, thank you, thank you,
Tracy. Let's continue with the storywith Kevin. Thank you, Brian,
thank you, well done. Congratulationsto both you and Tracy. It
must be an amazing accomplishment. Iknow you haven't sold any yet and you're
looking to commercialize it, but atthis point to come up with an idea

(07:35):
and to see it in front ofyou and working for the same reason you
came up with it. That mustfeel something special to you. Oh,
it's absolutely brilliant, Brian, becauseLochel just said earlier, we didn't even
expect the application to get over thethreshold and to actually say it in working

(07:58):
form, being created, being televisedby you, et cetera, et cetera,
and scribbles. Yeah, we didn'ta lot to say, as you
know, and have just told theaudience on partially paraloids or couldn't draw before
we actually the accident so I coulddrink draw Max sticks man, you know

(08:18):
what I mean. And that's aboutit. I can't so at the end
of the day to get this far, it's just remarkable. Absolutely well,
congratulations, congratulations on your success sofar. I know that Tracy showed it
to us, but you made ananimated video. Actually this isn't an animated
Let's show this one. You dohave an animated but this is actually the

(08:41):
case being used in action. Solet's take a look at this one.
So you have two pairs of glassesin separate cases, one sunglasses and a
regular pair. And now you putone pair in the left side, one

(09:03):
pair in the right side, andyou close it and there you go,
there is the two pr glasses andyou also created an animated video and you
kind of showcase it here. Sothis is a prototype, Kevin. You

(09:26):
made this out of a three Dprinter. Yeah, well, I sent
it to a company to be madefrom that. But at the end of
the day, Buck have just said, I can't believe I'm actually watching it
on you table. Whatever it's called. Just have one case underneath it.

(09:52):
It's got just as well written inthe middle, right's it's great Kevin.
So tell me, after you cameup with the idea and you made the
design that you were envisioning out ofmatches rather than scribbles, even, what'd
you do next? What was thewhat was the next step that you did

(10:15):
to get this to where it istoday? What I've done, Brian,
which is a lot beyond all belief. I got about six to eight old
glasses cases, took them to pieces, took all the spring mechanism out of
them, just like a kid withMecano set, you know what I mean.

(10:35):
We want to know how it works, and I like, basically I
just stripped all the carcass down, put all the gubbins as in usage of
parts put all the gubbins in andcreated me own. We've all sellotape and

(10:56):
with salo tape, chopped sticks, pegs, spring mechanisms of wooden pegs,
et cetera, et cetera. Andyeah, like I just said, to
get where we are today is justbeyond beyond the belief. Do you still

(11:18):
have that original prototype? Yeah,in somewhere in the vast of the cobwebs.
Yeah, that's the fun part, right when you when you invent something.
I have all my original type ofprototypes that I came up with,
whether it was on a piece ofpaper or developing it, whereas my first
taking pieces and putting them together. And it's it's fun to see that and

(11:41):
where it is today. It's traceyou said, if it gets off of
the doormat in the first company weused, it will be a miracle.
But yeah, it was. It'sbeen an odd road for four years with
COVID and all that. After youcame up with the idea and you made
the prototype, your own prototype thatyou put together, was the next thing

(12:07):
that you did. How did youfigure out how you were going to go
through the other steps that you accomplishedso far? Well, just using retribueal
people and companies. I mean,we trolled, trolled the Internet for as
far as America to Australia, butI was a bit cautious of sending things

(12:33):
away, you know what i mean. So at the end of the day,
we took trade trust in retibuel companies, well innovate keelty campaign attorneys,
and we just followed their voice basically. Okay, so you you found some

(12:54):
reputable companies, you explored what youneeded to do, and you their guidance
to get to where you are today, where you have patents that are filed
and a working prototype. Yeah,we're We're in the European Painting Office in

(13:16):
the Hargue with a painting application. We've got our own patent application which in
number is twenty fourteen two one ninepoint six. All the artwork I've just
said has been done by the companyin the UK. We've kept it really

(13:37):
close to the chest, really,Brian hook an anchor into the ground to
Catabis. Okay, so now thatyou've gone to this point of having patent
protection and a working prototype, whatare you looking to do with your invention?

(14:01):
I'm opening to get the acclaim thatit needs because it's for the disabled
people and all that open to achieve, giving my concept and traces concept that
credibility it deserves. Do you feellike it's only for the handicapped people.
I mean, I think it's prettyuseful for anybody that has two pairs of

(14:26):
glasses. Yeah, but it is. But it's also incorporated the disabled hands
as well. If you've got arthritis, Brian, or any hand dexterity movement,
you're not going to be like Parkinson's. You're not going to be able
to open that case with no lipon it. You're not going to be

(14:50):
able to achieve what you want to. I mean, I've got about bad
Land. I've had it for thelast thirty five years. Well, but
to do most common tasks in acommon day world, it's a task,
Brian. You know what I mean, to open a Chris packet from example,

(15:13):
because I can just grip on mythumb. It's a task, mate,
Really is a task. That's whatI've got. Tracy Kevin, you
have a few options that you're exploring, which you've expressed to me. So
you're looking to potentially license it toearn royalties, which means that you're looking

(15:37):
for a company this will be mostuseful is to find a company that's in
the business that can sell accessories, let's say for glasses, glasses cases,
and be able to add your intellectualproperty, your product to their product line
and every time one of them sells, you would earn a royalty. I

(16:02):
said, we've got a company inHong Kong at the moment who's willing to
produce the glasses case. Okay, well that's for manufacturing, right. So
the other option is for you tomanufacture and be able to work with the
factory, produce them and sell themyourself. Right. So what options have

(16:26):
you been thinking about and what haveyou been more leaning towards. I'm looking
I'm leaning towards these in the onesin Hong Kong at the moment, because
they're going to do everything we foundthem over the internet and at the end
of the day, they're going topackage it, stip it, disribute it,
do what they can for me andwe'll work with them. Already licensing

(16:52):
company that wants to come around.Okay, well that's very interesting and we
hope that it does come around andwe're able to see your product in the
market. Have you considered different colors, have you considered packaging. Tell us
what you're what you're thinking about asfar as how the presentation is going to
be with the with the glasses case? Should should I? Should? I

(17:18):
believe blunt with you byrind anything thecompany wants to it as long as we
can get some sales. Uh,yeah, because they can put velcrow inside
to line the cases and whatever whateveridea comes. Because the whoever does it,
it's going to be past the questionby us anyway, because we obviously

(17:42):
owned the painting. Right, Let'stake a look one more time at how
this is working. So you havetwo pairs of glasses and separate cases.
Yeah, and you put the twocases away, and now you take the

(18:03):
two pr glasses case and you putyour glasses into each side. You close
it and nice and compact and sturdy, and most importantly to you is the
ability to be able to open itwith that lip in the front, to
be able to make it easier toopen for you. Yeah, definitely,

(18:26):
because that's great Lock. I'm justsaying, struggle to open, Kevin.
There are inventors and people that havecome up with ideas and they're watching you
inspired by where you've gotten to thispoint. But maybe there's some people that
are thinking about their idea or maybethey're stuck with moving forward with their idea.

(18:48):
What words of wisdom can you giveto the audience of the way that
you've gotten to where you are todayand how you can help them. Well,
it'll be short and sweet, Born, take the bull by the owns
and see what you can achieve.Because if you don't do it, Mate,

(19:10):
if you don't follow your dreams, your dreams aren't going to come to
nothing. Make your dreams of reality. This has been an experience for you
in Tracy. Huh oh, definitely, Mate, without a doubt. That's
what Gracie's just said. That's great. Can Tracy come on on the screen

(19:34):
for a moment. Tracy, you'vebeen going through this with Kevin for the
last four years. Why don't youtell us some words of wisdom from you
and your experience so far and whatyou're looking to accomplish together. I'm hoping
that the people will like it andthink it's different from what we did when

(19:55):
we were working on it. Ilike the fact that is simplified. Okay,
the glasses might fall out still, but I'm hoping to kind of see
what work we can do and maybeuse it like a multi purpose thing as
well for your bankyards and your contactsand your change whatever you want to put

(20:22):
in there in that. It doesn'thave to be glasses, so excellent put
it there and that and just lookat it. And now I'm thinking,
well, no, I don't haveto put that in there. I'm doing
my driving lessons at the minute,so I'm quite intrigued in that to see
how it will work, because Ihave to have driving glasses, so I'll

(20:44):
be changing them over in that.So I'm just hoping that we've kind of,
you know, hit the nail onthe head and people will look at
what we've done. Amazing, Mate, here it is one more time.
Gets see there's two pairs of glasses. Pierre. I can't believe I'm looking

(21:11):
at our creation actually to come thisfar and that with all the drawings and
everything else and that and oh theinterviews and I don't like being on camera.
Well you're doing great, So ifcan can Kevin join you on camera

(21:32):
for a moment so we can signoff, you can all right, there
we go. There they are.Congratulations to you both to this point,
and we wish you all the successand We hope to see your two PR
glasses case in the market very soon. We wish you all the best and
keep on working on your other inventions. I know you're working on so we'll

(21:56):
speak to you again very soon.Yeah, we've got a multitude of inventions
lined up for you. Brian.Good well, you'll be back again soon.
Thank you both for joining us.Kevin and Tracy Parker from Katie Designs,
the inventors of the two PR glassescase two pairs of glasses in one

(22:18):
case. Congratulations to you both.Thank you Brian, and also if you
look at the two PR it's twoParkers. Yeah, that's awesome. Thank
you both so much. Speak toyou again soon. Thank you all right,

(22:41):
that was a very interesting interview fromIreland and we hope to see you
again soon on the Got Invention Show. Thank you for joining us. Keep
