Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, grants rants listeners, it's been a while. I hope
you're doing well. I appreciate you clicking on this episode
and checking it out. I am just checking with everyone
and I want to announce my new project that I've
been working on for a while, but first I just
want to say hello. I've made some changes in my
life and I am currently living in Miami. I left
(00:23):
New York at the beginning of this year twenty twenty
five and just really needed to change, definitely need to change.
I was pretty unhappy with work and things, and so
it was time to do something new. And since then
my job ended at Amazon, so I'm currently looking for
(00:44):
a new opportunity, but have been very busy with this
new project. So I produced ten episodes. You know I
love soap operas. I produced ten episodes of a scripted
soap opera drama, Montecito, with a sag after contract for
each actor. So it was like a lot of work
to put together and it took a long time. I
(01:05):
worked with my writing partner and friend Andrew and Trey,
who was edited every project. He has been around for
a long time. Trey actually was at the Grands Rance
one hundred Live episode. So these are people that know
me very well and I could trust to bring this
to life, and I'm really proud of it. I cast
(01:26):
all daytime actors and it really came together very well.
It was nice to finally be able to produce something
just with all my skills, you know, without being told
no by production executives of the network, and to be
able to just use all my skills in one place
at one time. I'm very grateful. So that is what
(01:49):
I wanted to bring to your attention. If you could listen,
that would be great if you haven't already. It's called Montecito.
It's an audio soap opera. It's on YouTube and all
podcasts platforms, and I just want to share it with
you one on one here in the feed. Since God
has hundreds of hours that'll be talking about things here
(02:10):
and this project is a big deal for me, so
I'm definitely looking to build the audience. So go and
subscribe and really appreciate it. It all matters, it all
counts with the algorithm, It's all about engagement, So please
check it out. While I'm here, I might as well
talk about other things going on. I still hate the view.
(02:31):
I think the view has become total propaganda and they
lie like nothing over there. I think it's really a shame.
There's no real discussion. You're not allowed to have an
opposing view. It's actually very well titled the view One view,
you're not allowed to have another. And I still hate
watching it, although I've toned down how much I've watched
(02:52):
it because I'm just trying to watch the negativity. But
sometimes I do put it onto laugh. I'm not gonna lie.
I do put it on for a good laugh. Why not?
And what else? I'm really not looking at any housewives.
I peek at the Miami Housewives, but it's not enough
to hold my interest. That they announced the Real Housewives
of Rhode Island, and now I grew up in Rhode Island,
(03:15):
and I believe there's some people from Cranston on there
where I also grew up. Big deal so far for
what's leaked, from what's leaked in the press, very unimpressed
by the whole thing, Very unimpressive. They're filming at locations
like a public park like that's kind of on the water,
and they're calling it a beach like places and providence
(03:38):
that I wouldn't be caught dead going to like, Rhode
Island does not have enough, Like I'm sorry, it just
does not have enough. Maybe Boston if they wanted to
do something Northeast, you know, and I know that they
want to go for the Italian angle, and Rhode Island
is perfect for that, for the Italian drama side and
how everyone's interconnected. That is true, but I mean, there's
(04:00):
not enough in Rhode Island. There's some small family restaurants.
I guess they could maybe get a permit and film
in Newport at the cliff Walk, but like, Rhode Islands
is just too small, so so far not good for
what I'm seeing coming out. I think it's gonna be
a joke. So I'm not surprised. But I am glad
(04:22):
to see that Real Housewives in New Jersey is rested.
That show has long expired, So that's good. Times start
canceling some of these shows. I'm just gonna say it.
You know, Atlanta Housewives is limping along and unrecognizable. I've
said for a long time, like shows have a lifespan.
Shows are a living, breathing thing, and they have to
be healthy and they have to evolve or they're over.
(04:46):
And to me, they've just collected money on these shows,
and they've pitted these women against each other to the
point where some of these women are being fired over
it of their behavior or something they've said or did,
because they're desperate to maintain their contract. So in my opinion,
it should be done. I do love mindless entertainment, though
(05:06):
I need entertainment like just to kind of tune out
and have in the background. So we'll see. I'm not
sure what else to watch as Trader is, but it's
going to be a long time before that comes out.
And then Big Brother, I'm absolutely not watching. I have
to draw the line somewhere that shows been do' for
like thirty years. It's so predictable, so I can't be
(05:28):
bothered with that. But I know people love it, so
I don't judge people for watching, but I need I
need a year off because I'd always possif I never
agree with the wins never. So that's really the latest.
I don't have anything else really pop culture I is
to talk about, except Montecito took many years to do,
so I'm just really trying to spread the word. I'm
(05:49):
very proud of it and might as well use every
platform I have to promote it. So you guys have
been so loyal to me over the years, and I
thank you and again thank you for clicking on this
and I hope that you got a little something out
of it. You can always find me on Facebook and
Instagram and in the Montecito YouTube channel, So thanks again
(06:10):
for checking this out. I really hope that you will
check out Montecito. I'm going to play the trailer right
after this so you can get a preview and a
vibe check for the show. It's very traumatic, like I
had some great soap actors in this and I'm really
proud of it. So yeah, let me know if you're
if you made it this far and you caught up
(06:32):
on the show or you checked out Montsito, let me know,
say hey, find me. Would love to hear from you,
because I feel like we were all quite connected. You know,
I had a very loyal audience on this show, and
I'm very also very proud of that. I always look
back on my time at Grant s Rance is a
positive thing and I have met so many people through
the show that honestly have really changed my life. It
(06:54):
introduced me to new people and new places that have
brought me to where I am sitting today in Miami.
So I owe a lot to the feed of the
show and the people who listened, and is not lost
on me. And now I present to you Montecito. Let
the trailer begin. It's a big night in Monsito with
(07:16):
