De danske bronzealderhøje ligger spredt rundt i landskabet, så vi næsten glemmer at lægge mærke til dem. Men højene rummer sande skatte af bronzealdersværd, lig og mærkelige genstande, der stammer fra en tid for 2500-3500 år siden. De genstande, kister og lig kan vi i dag analysere via blandt andet det tværfaglige forskningsfelt arkæometri, hvor arkæologi møder naturvidenskab. Professor Karin Frei bruger strontiumisotop-analyser, hvor man ser på forholdet mellem to versioner af grundstoffet strontium for at komme fortidens gåder nærmere. Og der er mange uløste gåder, ikke mindst, når hun fortolker sine data om Egtvedpigen, Ølbykvinden og en troldmand fra Lyngby. Det tyder på, at Danmark var vigtigere, end vi hidtil har forestillet os. Lyt med!
