Speaker 1 (00:02):
Greetings, fam greetings, greetings, greetings. Of course you know this
is no frills, no thrills, just brother, how Tim, just me,
you and the mic, and man, it is good to
be chilling here with you now. I'm in a different
space now, and of course the sign is gonna be

(00:23):
a little bit different. It's a wide open space and
I can hear the echo already. I don't know what
number episode this is, but we are slowly creeping up
to episode three thousand. And you know I've been putting
in the work. But today subject I need to hit

(00:44):
you with real quick is we don't all come from
kings and queens. Stop them lies, Stop telling our children
and telling yourself them lies. Right because let me explain.
Let me explain the danger as I sip on my coffee,
even though I am still frustrating, upset because while I

(01:07):
am doing this podcast, I supposed to be doing this
podcast from Ghana. I'm not in Ghana, No, no, no,
I'm in Columbus, Ohio, broadcasting to you. I should be on,
I should be on, I should be looking at the
Atlantic Ocean back over at you, but no, I'm here anyway.

(01:30):
Let's get it. This is going to push some buttons,
and that's exactly the point. I'm not here for conference,
I'm here for clarity. Today I want to address one
of the most repeated mantras in our community, or at
least it used to be, but I still hear little

(01:51):
bits of it in some discussion. We all come from
kings and queens. It sounds good, it feels empowering, but
family is not the whole truth. If everyone was king,
was a king or a queen was royalty, who held

(02:13):
the sicket, who built the temples, who mastered the mathematics,
who cooked the food, who cleaned the streets, who protected
the ram We all didn't come from the throne, and
that's not a bad thing. The idea that only royalty
hold value is a lie designed to inflate egos, and

(02:37):
egos that believe they're at the center of the universe
cannot be led. Leadership isn't about title or self importance.
It's about service, wisdom, and knowing when to follow. We
tell our children, you're all leaders. I'm guilty of this,

(03:00):
But what happens when everyone's a leader and no one
knows how to follow. You create a culture of individualism
that mirrors mirrors the very system oppressing us. This hegemonic,
white dominated system thrives when we're divided, self absorbed, and
allergic to cooperation. To rise, we don't need everyone to

(03:24):
be a boss. We need counsels, followers with vision, strategists, builders, warriors, squibs, educators.
In short, we need people who know their role in
the circle, not just those fighting to be at the
top of a peer of men. Now check this out.
If this message resonates with you, found, take a moment

(03:45):
to subscribe and share this episode. Let's build together and
spread the truth. Now let's get back to it. Back
in college, I find myself blessed with the circle of soulmates,
brothers with different skills, different strengths, but shared respect. We
didn't have a leader, We had leadership moments. Each of
us stepped forward when the situation called for our gift.

(04:10):
That's not chaos, that's balanced. We led when necessary and
followed with humility. That's what I call a functional counsel,
a group built on mutual respect, reciprisity, and responsibility. Telling
a young person who clearly who is clearly lost, that
they are a leader isn't affirming, it's misleading. What if

(04:33):
instead we helped them find someone worth following. What if
we said, you have potential, let's build on that together.
Instead of giving them a title to have an earned
and don't understand, we set them up for disillusionment and
failure when we equate worth and with authority and leadership
with identity, Let's take it even deeper. O obsession with

(04:57):
individual success is killing us. Internalized the myth that says
real men and women handle everything alone. Meanwhile we're drowning
a debt, stress, isolation, and generational generational exhaustion. That's not strength,
that's survival under a system that profits off of our separation,

(05:19):
off of our suffering, off of our exhaustion. I live
with people nearly my entire adult life on purpose, shared rent,
share food, shared power, And you know what I discovered.
The closer we live, the further we get. We practice
ujima ujama before we had language for it. That's what

(05:42):
real nation builder looks. Real nation building looks like breaking bread,
not breaking down. Instead of asking who's in charge, we
need to ask what role can you play? Or what
role can I play? Where's your gift needed? What can
you serve well? How can you serve the community? Some

(06:05):
of us will lead, some of us will follow, all
of us must build. We don't all come from world royalty.
And that's a beautiful thing because freedom was never built
on crowns. It was built on community. Let's start feeding
lines and start nurturing gifts. Let's stop seeking kingship and

(06:26):
start practicing kinship. This is brother ho Tim thinking out
loud and from the heart. Ha ha I'm out, Peace,
fam
