Speaker 1 (00:02):
He's faun. I want to welcome you to no thrills,
no frails, no thrills, just brother, high tim. We are
here and today we are discussing a proverb, and a
proverb is those who want rain must also accept the mond. Now,
this proverb caught off caught me off guard. It is
(00:25):
a proverb that I used on day two in my
Tribal Quotes book, which is a ninety day exploration into
wisdom and self discovery. And when I say, it hit
me different, It hit me and I had to sit
and marinate on this one for a while. I had
to sit and just think. And I love when I
run into concepts that make me do that. See, when
(00:48):
we talk about rain in this context, we're talking about blessings,
about abundance, growth and answer prayers. Everybody's out here, you're
asking for rain. We want the blessings, we want the breakthroughs,
we want the glow ups, the blow ups, the fantastic things.
(01:09):
We're praying for that rain to come down to water
the seas that we've been planting. But what we don't
talk enough about is the mud that comes with it.
Rain can be good if you are a farmer, but
if you planning a cookout on that weekend. Rain can
be a burden, right, but also rain brings that mud.
(01:32):
Let's get into that. Rain brings life, but it also
softens the ground. It gets messy, sticky, slows you down.
That's the mud, and if you're serious about your growth,
you're going to have to walk through it. You can't
have one without the r with one without the other.
(01:53):
Rain don't travel solo. It brings other things with it.
Mud is one of them. It brings mud to the party.
It never comes along. But mud is one thing that
you always gonna get. And if you ain't ready for
the mud, then you ain't really ready for the rain.
Let me break it down even simpler. If you want
(02:14):
the glory, you gotta be willing to step through the grind. Now,
my grandfather had his way of saying that. He tell
me you can't have your cake and eat it too,
And little me was confused, like why not? I couldn't
understand it's my cake. He looked at me, dead in
my face and said, once you eat the cake, food
(02:39):
is gone. That's life right there. We want joy with
no struggle, love with no vulnerability, shine without the grind.
But real blessings. They come bundle, and that bundle don't
always come wrapped in gold. Sometime it is full of mud.
(03:03):
It may need a little work to get cleaned up.
But hold on, hold on, I want to stop right
here for a second before we go into further If
you feel in this pause to show and give me
some love. You know what I'm saying. That ain't sound right?
Did it? Pause and show some love? Like follow, subscribe
or whatever you app cause it. It helps the message travel.
(03:26):
We are not trying to go viral. We want to
be vital. And if your called to support the work,
we got a link in the descripture to make that easy.
So now let's get back to this mud. This proverb
reminded me to stop judging the mess. Mud ain't punishment,
it's preparation. It slows you down so you can pay attention,
(03:50):
make your mindful of each step. Sometime that thing you've
been praying for don't show up wrapped up and joy.
It walks in with dirty shoes, It tracks it all
over your clean floor. But if you humble yourself, if
you keep walking, even slow, even messy, you'll reach the promise.
(04:12):
So here's your reflection. For the day. Where in your
life are you asking for rain but running for mud?
What muddy season might actually be leading you to your harvest?
Write it out, speak on it, share it with your circle.
(04:32):
Somebody may need your mud story. And if you want
to dived deeper, check out the full article that sparked
this whole episode. I laid it all out over on
Jimmy Journey, the link being the description. Remember this journey
ain't about the prep the pretty parts only. It's about
(04:53):
the truth. And the truth is if you really want
rain in your life, you better be ready to get
a little dirty. Walk through it with your head high,
feet fern, heart open. Those who want rain must also
accept the mud. Remember that, don't just quote it. Live
it now. Until next time, fam, may your day be
(05:16):
as beautiful as you are. I'm out.
