Speaker 1 (00:09):
That weren't even wonder. Yeah that leap board. Just found
two guys talking on six top five to two Simplex
while driving out to Main Trading Company for today's video.
I heard the other guy a moment ago. He was
really broken. I can't hear him now he might be
behind me. I don't know that guy's call sign. Its
KF five something. I forget what he said. Really good
(00:31):
to hear activity on six top five two Simplex. These
guys are talking about me now they see me on APRS.
I've been listening to him for five or six minutes,
and they said, they said, I see Jason Casey five
h tip he's on he said on the internet. I
assume he means on APRS dot F five here it
(00:54):
is having a guy we found this time of day
one six.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Five Why as nah good afternoon or good morning? I
guess it is Billy N five y s q k
C five h t W b.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Oh there you are? Well? Uh yeah, still like about
thirty minutes man in morning.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
I can I didn't say you're coming to town. Yeah,
I thought that all or at Uh so you have
armin Up sent you a couple of massachuset or emails
or APR s well again down.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
It's way all day. But uh, I'm glad you came back.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, Roger, Roger, just driving through town here. Yeah, I
got your uh got your APRS message the other day.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
You sent me a few of them.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I think I replied to one or two of them
left on the seventeenth Street. But uh, yeah, it's uh,
it's good to hear activity on six up five two
out here.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
H station that was in there, as well as the
KF five MDHU.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
About five or six mile. So you must steal me there.
You just passion through.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Or you gonna stop here.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
For a while. Oh, I'm gonna stop out here and
see Richard for a little bit. I'm gonna do a
video together about Uh. Gonna add that.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
To my thirty days of Ham Radio project that I'm
working on right now. Day twenty nine, I drove to
a Ham radio store, so I wanted to come out here.
I've been wanting to come out here for a while
because this is main trading company in Paris, Texas, and
this is a new location for them. They've had two
(02:47):
or three different locations since I've known them. They just
moved into this location maybe a month ago. A couple
of months ago something like that. So we're gonna take
a look around the inside. Main trading company MTC Radio
dot Com is their website. Now. This is a store
that I've been working with for heck, probably eight or
ten years. Really. They've moved locations several times. They're located
(03:11):
in the town of Paris, Texas, and this is the third,
maybe even the fourth retail store that I've seen from them.
They downsized a little bit for their walk in space
here because they've got a really large warehouse district. Most
of their sales are done online. If you go to
mtcradio dot com, you can find a full list of
(03:32):
their inventory everything they do. They are the sole distributor
and reseller for expert amplifiers inside of North America and
the USA, and we've done a couple of promo and
brand ad videos for them in the past. But I
wanted to drive out here. Now we could have driven.
I actually drove past the HRO in Plano, Texas to
(03:53):
get to Paris today, and I could have stopped at
d HRO and maybe they would have let me record
in their store and maybe not. But I like to
focus on the mom and pop stores. We did a
video a couple of years ago for Gigaparts in their
new store. We did a video earlier this year for
RNL Electronics when we were up in Ohio. And this
(04:13):
store here, this for Main Trading Company, is probably the
Ham Radio store that I have frequented the most, actually
walking in the front door and going to a Ham
Radio store because it's existed in Texas prior to HRO
and it's a mom and pop store, so I really
wanted to get them on videos today. Special shout out
(04:33):
to both Richard and Christine, thanks for allowing me to
come into the store today and just kind of walking
around with the camera. Check out the link in the
description blow for their website. These are all the stations
I ended up getting messages from yesterday after the APRS
Thursday message I sent down to about right there, so
it looks like I got roughly about thirty messages yesterday
(04:56):
after the APRS Thursday came for AC came to me
just now and said he sent me an APRS message
from a Meshtastic node and I said, great, that's just
what I need, and then he replied, good Win link
video today. So there we go. But I do want
to leave the area here in Paris without sending a
(05:19):
good afternoon. It's just twelve fifteen now, so I'm gonna
go down here to this CQ. Well, okay, I don't
have one. That's okay, so we're just gonna do. We're
just gonna start a new message. Let's go here and
reply clear all. There we go, edit call sign CQ
(05:39):
and then edit text. Let's capitalize this one just because
we can. Good afternoon, Comma space Paris. There we go,
Good afternoon, Paris, and there we go.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
When I talked to Billie N five YSQ a minute ago,
was he was talking to another station, and like I said,
when I turned on the microphone, he said, I see
ham Radio two point oh case five hvib's in the area.
He said, he saw me on the internet.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
I think he's looking on APRS do Fi. But I
was beaconing APRS and my message in my mobile radio
that I keep going is monitoring one forty six five
to two. So once finished that conversation, he reached out
to me and was awesome to make contact on sixtop
five to two today there was at least three stations
talking since I've been in the area, and they act
like they talk pretty normally on that frequency. And as
(06:37):
I was driving around, I missed my turn to go
to Main Trading Company when I first got here. As
I was driving around, I was looking and there's a
lot of yaggy antenna's in this area. Hf Ham Radio
Yaggy antenna's in this area, and I'm like, wow, there's
actually quite a good Ham radio presence out here. So
now it doesn't surprise me so much that I heard
activity on six top five to two.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
But like I said in previous videos in the series,
we need to get more activity on six top five
to two fmsimplex. That needs to be our calling frequency. Yes,
I do want to do some two meters sideband. I
absolutely want to do that. I had someone email me
the other day and said they called out on one
forty four out two fifty and didn't get anybody on
two meters sideband. And I'm like, hey, that's great, it's
great that you're on two meters sideband, but let's try
(07:18):
to get let's try to get more activity on six
top five to two simplex on a regular day. One
four two five is where we have our Wednesday night
net in the North Texas area, and please join us
there if you have the capability to get on six
top five or to get on two meters sideband rather,
but on a normal day we need to try to
light up fmsimplex six top five to two. So we're
(07:40):
gonna head home and I'm gonna read you, guys some
donations ending of day twenty nine.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
One more day to go, guys, one more day to go.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
We had a really good day yesterday, seven hundred and
three dollars in new donations, bringing us to six thousand,
eight hundred and twenty six.

one more day, So you guys, go out there.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Abl dot org forward slash thirty days and again. These
videos are being recorded three to four days ahead of time,
so by the time you're watching this video, there will
actually be a few more days in there of donations
that I haven't gotten to yet, So thank you to
all who donated. Tomorrow's video is gonna be a recap
and a lessons learned and some ideas for some future videos.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
So seventy three and we'll see you tomorrow.
