So right right there, there's there's you right there.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's definitely a a weird looking chat tonight.
Just YouTube change something.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
There's an ass chat that's weird looking. He's not saying
you are weird.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
No, no, no, well, I mean some of you might
actually be weird. I'm I'm certain, but no, the chat itself, uh,
they changed like the fonts or something. I don't know
what they did.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
They do that, and then every so often you lose
the handle and you go back to the at name instead, and.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
It's like right, yeah, yeah, yeah, So oh look at
that Bill hand Radio Tectonics K zero WHW you gifted
ten memberships.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Thank you Bill.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah, that's really cool.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I want one of those two Bill right.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Oh speaking of uh, our brother from down under so
here he comes.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah. So we're going to talk about handmade products tonight
and appreciate you guys. Using the Amazon links that I've
been sending out, I get some of you buy some
weird stuff. Now it doesn't tell me who buys what,
so you could totally buy something weird and I don't
know who you were, but if I see it, I'll
be like, hey, that's I'm going to put that in
my email for the weirdest thing purchased this week. And
that's been working out forty good too.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Don't feel embarrassed, Yeah, no, no, not at all.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
What's up, Hayden?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Hey, how's the gun? Hands? Bought weird stuff? Man?

Speaker 1 (07:14):
They do? You're right, you're you're right about that. That
is that is true. That's a true statement, right there,
weird stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
I'm good. I'm good. How are you good?

Speaker 1 (07:23):
I'm doing fine, doing fine. I haven't talked to you
in a while.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
No, no, I I heard you were doing this and
Steve said that he might need some help explaining some
of these posts. I do I need help? I can, Yeah, okay,
we can.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
We can get to that. Sure. So what time is
it for you right now, Hayden?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Just after midday? So I've just had lunch.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Okay, okay, so good good good? Yeah, excellent, excellent? Well
good man. You coming back to Daton next year?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Maybe we'll have to we'll have to say just.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Like everybody and show up, show up unexpectedly again. That
worked out well last time.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I don't think I'll be able to do that again,
probably not trip well, it is expensive. But there's a
few people that I didn't make last time, so it'd
be good to catch up with them.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah, yeah, but absolutely.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
We'll have to say. I haven't decided yet.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Oh I'm kind of getting tired of listening to that alert,
so maybe we'll turn that off, all right. So I
found a few things. I did a video, I don't know,
a couple of weeks ago. It's not the first video.
And I actually did a video about two months ago
about Ham Made antennas just in Tennis, and I caught

(08:47):
I covered like five or six or seven of them
something like that, and that wouldn't near all of them
we can do. I could have done that probably again
and not overlapped anything. And then I made a video
a couple of weeks ago about Ham made products. So
I got a lot of feedback on that, and I
didn't get everything on that either. So you know, probably
talk about a few things tonight. And there's there's a

(09:08):
couple of Black Friday things that are out there. There's
a couple of things on sale and some more stuff
like that. So decided to kind of put that on
the agenda tonight. Next week we're probably going to do
a giveaway. I've got some items from Powerfilm and Gigabarts
and Ridotto and I think Redivus. Maybe a lot of

(09:28):
people reached out to me sometime around the last month
or so and said, hey, we want to if you
do a live stream, we want to do give away
some products. And I'm like, okay, good, let me gather
all that up and kind of do it all at
one time. I think that'll work out pretty well. So
be watching on the email list for that. If you're
not on the email list Ham Radio two dot com,
forward slash email dash sign up, go sign up there
and I will send out what I'm doing. But then

(09:50):
you just join me on the live stream same time
as always next week. So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in
the USA, and if you're not in the USA, happy
Thanksgiving anyway. But Thanksgivings Thursday and uh Friday. I thought
about doing a happy hour Friday night. Maybe I'll do that.
I haven't done happy hour in like two or three
months since Labor Day. Basically, I haven't done a happy

(10:10):
hour since Labor Day. So I thought about doing one
Friday night if I don't go deer hunting, then I'll
probably do a happy hour, but I haven't decided all
on that whole genre yet, so we'll we'll see what
happens with that, but you guys keep watching the notifications.
We'll see around that, but definitely do a livestream on Sunday.
Probably gonna be given away all that stuff that I've
been stockpiling for the last two months for. I had

(10:32):
some donations given to me for my Thirty Days of
Ham radio project that I did in September. I had
some uh, I had Gigabarts wanting to do some giveaways
and on the let's make a deal that we did
with them last time, and then I've had and then
I've had two or three companies reach out to me
about Black Friday, just say, hey, promote our Black Friday stuff.
Also we want to give something away, and I'm like, okay, cool,
we can make all that happen. So there there, we're

(10:56):
gonna We're gonna go. So anyone in the chat that
I've got, let's see, let's see if I can count two, three, four, five, Well,
that one's not in the websites down six, seven, eight, nine, ten, Okay,
I've got basically ten items with a special website as
number eleven. And then but if anything that I don't

(11:18):
mention in the chat, I would like to know more
about Ham Radio made products. If I miss something, or
to talk about something, or you know something that's new
maybe I've never talked about, please do let me know
because I like to promote stuff like that. So you
won't be able to share URLs in the chat or
in the comments after the video's done, because I got
all that turned off due to spambots. But give me

(11:41):
a name, simme a UURL and discord do something like
that and we'll see if we can share it. If
not today, then you know, on a mail list or
on a future video something like that. And I'm gonna
start right here. I'm I'm gonna start well, i'll tell
you what. I'll start with Steve since since Steve. Yeah,
I'll tell you what. Let's start there and let's go

(12:02):
right here. Okay, So I have so here's Teo's website.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Right here, temporarily offline dot com.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, and I've got I've actually got my affilly link
for youat here to.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
You sweet you should Yeah, So gotch my back eye
scratch yours.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
That's how it works, that's right.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
So there's a there's a link for you guys, and
you'll take you to this website here. And I've got
the boards right here in my hand. And this is
a little USB C board right here. And we're going
to do another live stream that puts all this stuff
together and uses it in a real world application. That's
not what we're doing tonight. Gosh, you can't get that
open static. Static bag is static. So there's a little

(12:46):
board right there that's the USBC interface board. And I
thought these were daughterboards going a Raspberry pie.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
If they're not, now these are these are directly These
are bespoke, as they say. So you see the pinholes
on the one side opposite of the USBC port, Those
expose yep, they exposed push to talk, They exposed carrier
operated squelch and microphone and speaker to the computer from

(13:13):
the radio. And then we designed the thing so that
you could, you know, be a tinker and hardwire in
old radios that don't have built in sound cards. And
then because there's so many of those old radios that
have that six pin interface, we also Hayden made this
daughter board to go on top, and that does all
the work for you. It's got all the parts in
there for trimming your audio levels up and down. That's

(13:35):
the two big blue ones. And it's got some lights
on there to tell you, you know, whether stuff's happening or not.
It's got some switches to switch from twelve hundred to
ninety six hundred speed, and you know, it kind of
does stuff for you. But if you look at the website,
it also shows you know how to do it on
a bread board and we've got instructions for how to
build the circuits and everything.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Good. Yeah, uh he sent me a you said that
picture was on your website.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
If you click on the green board on the website,
the green board, oh yeah, which actually when you buy
it shows up purple.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
It's fun. Colors are fun.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Yeah, right, okay, so right here and yeah, and then
that's the one. Yeah, so you can scroll down on
this right here there we go.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
So, yeah, so I've got an RJ forty five breakout
connector there because the radio that I was playing with
is the red vs RT ninety five, which is the
any tone seven seven eight UV oh yeah, and it's a.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Little twenty dual band analog radio yep.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
And it's got an RJ forty five bike connector on
the front of it, so that's where I get the
PTT signal, and I get the microphone, and then it's
got an external speaker port on the back and that's
where I get the sound.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Also good, okay, And these boards are about thirty bucks
a pop. And you don't know, you don't have to
have both of them. You can you can totally have
one and not the other, depending on what radio you've got.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
So yeah, And in honor of our new Black Week
Black Double Week holiday, I've got code Black Friday fifteen
gets you fifteen percent off.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Oh there you go, Black Friday fifteen. Awesome. That's pretty cool. Good.
I asked t O before the stream. I was like, okay,
so this sounds like it's something that would be an
excellent addition to my mystery Box service, my mystery box
subscription service that I spun up. And his statement was,
do you think that they're too technical? And the feedback
I've been getting, which is a good question, it's a

(15:32):
good question. Are they too technical? The feedback I've been
getting is people want more Ham radio items. More Ham
Radio items more him. So, hey, guess what it's is
Ham Radio. So perhaps what kind of deal we'll work
on a deal to include those in some uh some
future mystery boxes. What's up, Frank?

Speaker 4 (15:49):
Not much, not much. Sorry, my live stream went a
little long here and took me a minute to get
over here. But we're at a great a discussion on
the more advanced features of messed.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Yeah. I saw you spelled it mash tastic in your
God blessed yeah, and your in your thumbnail and in
your title. That's just so you and I and I
was like, I was like, mesh tastic, mashed tastic must
must be a mashed version, in other words, like a
vodka version of pastic. So it's what happens when you

(16:22):
do mesh tastic and drink vodka at the same time.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
So, I mean, that's well, because he took some time
to clean up his haym studio there.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Well this side, yes, yeah, right, yeah, this side, things
are still happening. I've worked hard on the house and
that has all been downstairs, and we're sitting upstairs where
nothing has been done other than I've been cleaned out
old electronics and those one away but what is this, Jason?

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Uh, Okay, so that's sort of kind of a little
bit of handmade product to talk about that those are
actually still on the website, Frank, So, I mean we
haven't had an order for one in like three weeks.
So yeah, I mean the last the last count that
I gave you was correct.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
So these are the tank radio pint glasses that I
received over the weekend. And I'm just as an update
if you ordered one, I will be filling out orders
after Thanksgiving. I'm just got a little things to do
logist like wise on how to pack them and get
them done. But they're here, I have them, and they're amazing.

(17:32):
Look at um. I can't wait to get these out
to y'all.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
And I didn't notice it so now, but I guess
your cameras backwards, Frank. Ah, I didn't notice it until
you hold the glass up and I'm like, why is
the logo back I was like.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Oh, it's an obs Yeah, the cameras mounted upside down,
but it doesn't have an upside down rotation. It will
only have the flip and then it's still backwards.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Okay, all right, it's all good.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Well, you got to flipping mirror.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Yeah, well yeah, but you only you do that per scene.
You can't do that for the camera in general. Yeah,
we're getting off topic.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
No, it's okay, there's a trick for that, but it's
there's not any less of a pain in the rear end.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Carlos is in there saying you're sounding rough.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Yeah, party last night, and people are supposed to tell
anybody you don't.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
You don't go partying with Carlos, not not unless you
have like a whole like three days to take off afterwards.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Yeah, recovery time.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Inadvisable to do that.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
So hey, Frank, don't worry about your miss. It's just
a sign and productivity is what that is. Just means you.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Okay, Okay, all that then productivity. Actually that's my shipping
station that's.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Made Frank, Oh, I do.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
But she doesn't come upstairs. It's all downstairs.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
I mean, I wouldn't call up something either, you know,
poyer enough to do the upstairs.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
That's true. Ah, let's see, does Frank no he still
has my comments up I don't know. Oh, I don't
know if he does or not.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
Says damn fixed.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
So any questions about the interface boards that and Hayden
have worked on.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Hey, you've got I noticed that Jason's got the version
two of the di I as well. He's got the
latest latest version that we've got to the purple one.
Tell us what the difference is. Well, it's got my
call sign on it for starters. Now, what did we
do I'm trying to remember now.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
We did it constantly improving.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Yeah, there was something that we improved on it. I
can't remember what it was. The standoffs that right, that's right,
three millimeters so that they'd fit in three screws. That's
what we Oh, yeah, okay, but you can stack them
so the daughterboard will when you put the pins on
each board, the doorterboard then plugs in on the top,
and then you've got on the door to board the
six pin MinID in connector, which allows you to plug

(20:09):
into you know the radios that all have that on
the back of them, like the Ya Seas and the
Icons and the Kenwoods.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
In fact, Steve's put that up there again, Steve, I'll
get you, uh yeah, right there.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
So that's the sandwich that we've got set up.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Yeah, so you don't have standoffs on that one at
the moment. But you can put it.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
I don't because when people make the three D printed cases,
they don't make up with the standoffs, so they I mean,
they don't need them at that point, it just slides
right in. And then this one came from Freddie mack
Hem Radio Crusader. He's going to be selling these on
his store.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Okay, Freddy, I need one of those, so I need
you to send me one of those or send me
a link. I'll buy it from you. I don't mind
buying it from you. But yeah, definitely definitely have a
little case for it. That's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
The standoffs. It wiggles a bit, but it doesn't really matter.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
Question from Kevin. Can the toads support a CW interface
to a computer?

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Interesting? What's CW interface?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Which one?

Speaker 1 (21:14):
There's Yeah, there's numerous.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Are you talking about like small side software so you
can interface it and send Yeah, I mean you can
do fl Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
But I didn't know if he was talking about like
a physical key or interface.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Right, Yeah, yeah, I didn't follow that either.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
I guess is yes, you.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Could do like f L DIGG or ws j T
for a radio like an eight ninety one that doesn't
have its own sound card right right.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Or you can do all Star, which is what Freddy
Max has been doing with it with the Motoroller radios.
Of course he is, or i PR, of course he
is a p r S, a PR a PSS packet radio.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Also do wind link and you can BBS's.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yep, sweet, Okay, do you have a wind link node
accessible by like two meter or r F near you?

Speaker 1 (22:01):
I do. It's it's a two meter packet node. And
it's been probably two or three weeks since I tried it,
but the last time I tried, I couldn't get into it.
It's run by the Northeast Tern Amateur Radio Club. It's
called net Arc up here, and I was using it.
I was using the heck out of it during my
thirty days at Ham Radio, checking win Link almost every day.
Checked into wind Link Wednesday too, Yeah, two times during

(22:22):
that month, and I've checked it several times since then.
But I they they did have it down for a
while and then I and then they said okay, it's
back up now, and I used it, and then like
two days later I couldn't get back into it again.
So I don't know. I haven't checked it. I need to.
I need to do that I need to go check
my wind Link email because I haven't haven't done I don't.
I don't want to do it over till net is wrong.

(22:42):
I don't. I don't want to do it over till net.
I've been trying to wait for it. And then I
talked to uh oh, geez, what's his name?

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (22:52):
I want to say Kevin. I don't know if that's right.
Uh kN six, the guy who makes the uh yes,
Craig that correct, the guitar man, Yes correct. I talked
to him during my thirty days of him Radio and
we talked about doing some stuff with packet radio, and
he sent me a He said that the build that
you and I did Steve on this wind Link note,

(23:12):
which I actually have, is sitting right here in front
of me. He's like, that's an old build. He's like,
I've made a lot of updates to the package since then,
and I'm like, okay, yeah, yeah, so I need to
I need to redownload, reflash all that. So that's on
the list of things to do, but I haven't haven't
got around.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
To that yet, and they're asking about it in the chat.
But the Toad's d I does work with the new
version of KM six l Yw's dig Pie. There's actually
a drop down and you pick it off the list.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Oh it's it's in a drop down, okay.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Yeah, And then there's another question from CAJ Mitch. Maybe
I've said that wrong. APRS on the seven o five.
The seven oh five has a built in sound card.
So while you can do that, you really you shouldn't.
It's the easy way save yourself some money. You don't
need it. Yeah, and that's how honest we are as
Hams and brothers here. But I mean, yeah, if you
want to support me, you know, buy one and you know,

(23:59):
sit it next to the seven or five.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
It'll look pretty.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
But this is really designed for older radios that don't
have built in sound cardes.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Yep. And originally, originally the idea was born out of
struggling to modify the c M one O eight sound
card for an all starlink node. So for those that
wanted to build like a high powered node that have
to go and modify the little USB, whereas this already
has it all modified on it. So but then it

(24:28):
become a little bit more versatile. Yeah, you do it
for other things.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Why can I not camera.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Can't hear you, Jason, Now, Jason's got no because yeah,
that's because I saw your look.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Right, yeah yeah, yeah, no, I can't zoom out.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
Let your beard grow again. I see on that that picture.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
I'm looking up the nine hundred. Now, somebody's asking about
the FT nine hundred, and that's a cool looking radio.
I really like the old geezy radio. I need to
see the rear of it. There's the rear end of it.
Uh yes, tuner, it's got weird ports on it.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Interesting.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
Is there a new version of the nine hundred? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Yeah, I mean you can, certainly you can do this.
You can.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Eva, But like Jaesu went after that, after that radio
has gone to the radio heaven. Jesu changed the cat
control port to be on the eight pin connector, and
the tuner on the eight pin connector, and the linear
amplifier on the eight pin connector, and then they added
the six pin connector for data modes. This one's got

(25:42):
RCA plugs and three and a half. If you can
find the pin out for those different connectors, then that's
exactly what this is designed for. Is you just plug
it right into the pin headers here and if you
need to build some circuitry to invert logic levels or
you know, tamp down the or whatever.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
You can do that.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Or you can actually get a six pin cable and
cut the one end off of it that goes to
the radio and put custom ends on it and plug it.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
If you have a screen quickly, I.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Can't let me hold on. I'll turn it on for you.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
I want to show you. I found that in the
manual to have a look at this. That's probably one
of the best connected peen outs diagrams that I've seen.
They've got the actual photos connect all of the peanouts.
Back in the day, it was so much better on

(26:37):
this connector here dvis to voice in voice out paytt.
You know, I bet brand new in the box it
came with those connectors. Yeah, I used to.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
I think they all used to.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
Yeah, they knew you were going to ham stuff upright.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that they wanted you to really
But yeah, all right, Well I want to move on
because we a few things to talk about tonight. So
but yeah, any questions for Steve's thing, check out the
link once more. Yeah, there it is temporarily offline dot
com Ford slash Ham Radio two. That's my affiliate link.
You guys use that and Black Friday fifteen.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
I think Steve yes, Black Friday fifteen.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Black Friday fifteen will get you fifteen percent off, so
check that out. The next one I got this is
a Spool TENA. Now I did a video about spool
ten two three months ago. No, no, it was longer
than that. It was last spring. I remember that because
I met them at him benchon in May, four days
in May, actually in the month of May, and I'd

(27:38):
already done my video by then, so it's sometime last spring.
They have a black stat and the original one's white.
It's a white spool with black wire. They've got a
new orange high viz wire that you can get on
the website. This is a new Stealth edition. And look
at that. It's serial number two.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
Nice though, I assume they.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Kept serial number one for them so and sent me
serial number two.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
So well, no, they did two for ham Radio.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Yeah yeah, yeah, so so but that's uh. But yeah.
So they're on Black Friday, So five days from now,
on Black Friday. It's seven eight a m Eastern eight
a m Eastern. According to their website here, they will
release these and they're gonna be a limited supply, and
I'm sure that their their website is gonna be bombarded.
I don't know exactly where it's gonna be. I think

(28:28):
it's gonna be if you go to shop here, it'll
probably be under one of these school tennas things here.
Oh there, it is right there. Okay, I'm sorry, it's
up there now, but you can't buy it yet. So
spool TENA comes with this really cool bag, an extra
spool a d R co ax a Goilble black Friday
Eastern or eight a m Eastern, something like.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
That man Friday.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Yeah, keep you.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I know, yeah yeah, And uh and they got it.
It's it's a cool setup. So my wife and I
are going to be traveling to where we're gonna fly
to Vegas and rent a camper vand in uh in
late February, after about two weeks after himcasion next year
and uh, and we're gonna tour the five what's called
the Mighty five, the five national parks at the southern

(29:14):
end of Utah. And and we were and she was like,
are you gonna be able to pack down light enough?
I'm like, well, that's that's a valid question. Knowing the
way I packed stuff. But uh, in fact, I think
that would be cool video. Hey, I'm going to getting
on a plane. I want to do HF. I want
to do one hundred what probably a hundred wat HF.
And what am I taking? How am I gonna pack?

(29:36):
What am I gonna take? This is probably one of
the antennas I will take. I will probably take this
because this is this is all it is right here.
I mean you, I'll probably take this this bag with
all the extra stuff in it as well. But if
I wanted to, I could totally get away with just
taking this one spool like this because you just unwind
the spool, plug in your b n C here, and
then plug in the The intent the spool itself acts

(29:58):
as you're, uh, you're an un and you plug the
wire in here after you unwanted all, plug your co
accent here and you're you're gun, You're done.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
And that's that in fed halfway right for that is correct?

Speaker 4 (30:10):
Yes, So the spool intent is the the uniqueness of
it is the roundness and the case itself.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
Yeah, and the yeah, and the fact that it's you know,
it's uh, it's you're built into it.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
Yeah. Correct, it has on the whole case is the
winder versus carrying this, yeah, and then wrap your infed halfway. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Correct, But it's got a winder motion to it, like
a fishing spool.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Right, yeah, like a fishing spool.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Yeah correct, So I could think yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, Hayden.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
I just shared the link to the website in the chat.
That is an affiliate link. Again. Uh, if you use
the coupon code of ham Radio two dot zero, you
will receive free shipping. So free shipping with my with
my code hand Radio two zero. Yeah, and spool ten
is in the chat up there to Rob's in the
chat right now. So but yeah, this is this is cool.
This is a neat looking antenna. They told me about.

(31:09):
They sent me an email. I'm like, cool, okay. I
was like, yeah, I'll promote that. And I looked at it.
I was like, okay, I can't get it until Black Friday.
And then one showed up in the mail like like
a week later. I'm like, oh, they sent me one. Sweet.
So so it's a it's a neat looking it's a
neat looking product. And I like the I like the whole.
I don't know, I like the whole the limited edition,

(31:29):
the limited edition aspect of it. Yeah, well, I like
the I like the antenna concept obviously, but I like
the limited edition concept as well. So maybe at Christmas
will get one that's red white and has a sand
close hat on it or something. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
So that extra spool is that for the coax or
is that a spare spool in case you break it?

Speaker 1 (31:47):
I believe that is. No, I don't think the spare
of spool. I think it's the whole You said it
was a forty meter. I believe you can add enough
wire to make it an eighty meter infit halfway. So
the spare of spool right here, it is not the
It is not the unnun It's just a wire holder
and there's.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Extra and could tell us yeah, yep.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
So that yeah. So I believe that is to add
more wire to make this an eighty meter infant halfway,
if I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
I saw about the last Hanfest that we were at
they were at they were at Huntsville.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
I think, uh yeah, I believe so, uh huh, I
believe so. So yeah, but great great product from those guys.
Really looking forward to trying. I'm trying this black one out.
The white one that I have works great. I still
have it. I've used it twice since my video, I think,
and uh dark mode always been, always been happy with it.
Dark Molde is the way to go, totally the way

(32:41):
to go. Uh okay. So the next thing on the
agenda tonight is this uh ZBM two antenna. This is
a new and it's not new. Yeah, it's uh yeah.
I got Home Shopping Network accused of that a couple
of times with my Black Friday videos whatever. So this

(33:04):
is a very well built, well tuned ht He calls
it a foul weather intenna V two. ZBM two Industries
dot Com is the website. He sells some b tech
radios and some other stuff as well, and stuff like
that right there. But I've got I've been using this

(33:25):
and this is I've been putting a lot of pictures
on Instagram of my Kinwood D seventy five and other
radios too. But every time I do that, somebody says, hey,
what intenta is that? This is the ZBM two. It's
got this it's dual band antenna. So D seventy five
is a triband radio. It's not a triband antenna, but
it's the intent I've been using to do two meters
and four forty and it's got this canvas type material,

(33:50):
kind of like a canvas USB cable and it's got
this canvas type material around it that makes it totally waterproof,
B and C on the end down there. And I've
been incredibly happy with this antenna for my HT for
the last I don't know, I've had it six months
or so, probably something like that. But those are all handmade.
He's a Ham radio operator obviously made those tunes each

(34:11):
one individually. They're not they're not factory off of a
conveyor belt or something like that. He tunes each one individually,
and they come in different colors like that, I believe
if you no, I think I'm wrong about that, And
never one. I thought I had a coupon, but I don't,
So I'll put his link in the chat. Uh. Yeah,
they they they they're not advertised as indestructible, but he

(34:36):
advertises as a tough, handmade antenna made right here in
the USA. Is made of special blend of nickel titanium
that won't shear, sag, or bend or break. Comes in
dual band options for HAMS or GMRS users as well
as monoband so you can get a monoband one for
GMRS if you if you prefer to do that as well.
I'm really hoping he comes up with one for tryband.

(34:58):
That's a good quot. Different yeah, different, yeah, different colors, yep, yeah,
the one on the website here, This one's green. This
one's kind of like a tan or a coyote brown.
When I have as black, Tim is asking does it
hold a memory like a signal stick. It does, but
it's not as bad as the signal stick in my opinion.
Let me, uh, let me get back to this view

(35:20):
right here. It's a little bit. You can see it's
a little bit bent in this direction because I keep
mine rolled up because this is a freaking long antenna
to just set on the radio and keep it there,
so I roll it up. So, yeah, it does have
a slight memory to it. I mean you can see
it's bent like that in a downward slope like that.
I'm not I'm not holding it like like that. That's
just how it is.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Your h antenna is not bent than you're not a
real hand. I was gonna say, yeah, every hand of
the hand fits.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
Yeah yeah, yeah. And the thing I like about this
one is that it doesn't it's more. It's more flex
A signal stick is very flexible. And I should have
put the signals st on my my list tonight. Honestly
I didn't, but I should have.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
You're gotta be careful of those signal sticks though, when
you unravel them, that'll straight out.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
Yeah yeah, yeah, no, kid, you take your eye out.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
It doesn't look like that one is gonna do that.
It looks like it's the materials more it comes.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
It comes out pretty quickly, but it's not as fast
as it's not as it doesn't hitch as hard as
a signal stick does. So, I mean, signal stick is
a great antenna too. There's nothing wrong with either one
of these, but I think this one's a little bit
more durable. Although I know guys that run signal sticks
on a mag mount on top of their car yep,
and use them with their fifty fifty what mobile radio?

Speaker 3 (36:37):
I know?

Speaker 4 (36:39):
I know I use his signal stick as a the
antenna on his G ninety and transmitted on twenty.

Speaker 5 (36:47):
Yeah that's right, yeah, yeah, yeah, mm hmm, all right,
school Tennis says a spool is for co acts.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Spare spool for co Okay, all right, Okay, school is
for coax. Okay. So I would get some RG three
to sixteen probably to put in there.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
So they said, no, SAG the signal stick in extremely
cold weather.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
Will you know? I was talking to rich Yeah, I
was talking to Richard about that at him mention this year,
and I think they they came up with the new
formula where supposedly it doesn't do that anymore. I haven't
tried it. I haven't tried it. I don't. I've got
five or six or seven signal sticks, but I bought

(37:33):
them all like two or three years ago. So I
don't think I have the latest rendition that he's got.
But I believe the newest ones don't do that. But
that might be a good test. I may have to
test that out and see.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
Yeah, I don't plan on being anywhere near cold weather.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
So no, you probably don't. You probably had your share.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
It's been in the forties down here in Arizona. It's
kind of ridiculous. This is not what I signed up for.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Yeah, well, yep, that is true.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
Also problems there I state not for me anyway.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
No, this is Look, this is a new one that
I found recently, and it's very much like the ZBUM two.
This is Iron Spear Outfitters, and they make an unbreakable
dual band antenna for clear communications. Now it's fifty three dollars.

(38:25):
But I'm oddly I'm morbidly curious to see, Okay, oldly curious,
morbidly yeah, because I want to, like, I want I
want to.

Speaker 4 (38:34):
Yeah, antenna with the sharp end, I.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Don't think so, No, it's not it's not anything. But
you can get them in all these colors. Right here,
you can see it looks like you get him in
a dual band. And I'm not sure if he had
I think he has one for I think he has
one for both GMRS and for Mesh. Yeah, Maximus antenna
nine hundred and fifteen, Megga Hurtz right here, So it's
got one for that thirty two bucks for that one. So,

(38:59):
but Iron and Spirit Outfitters, I don't remember. I don't
remember how I found these guys. I believe they reached
out to me through Shopify Collabs. This is where their
affiliate program is from. And I because I have Shopify
clabs on affiliate programs on two or three other companies
and uh and yeah, yeah, but they I found them
before you had that. But I've got Yeah, County Calm

(39:24):
I think was the first affiliate link I had from
Shopify Collabs. But but I think they reached out to
me and said, hey, please join ourffiliate and I'm like, sure,
why not? And then it's like, oh, holy crap, those
are intenna's. They've got these intenna relocation solutions right here,
so you can put them on like your chest rig
or your backpack and route the antenna around so it's

(39:44):
not poking in the side all the time.

Speaker 4 (39:46):
Oh I like that.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
Yeah, So I bought one of these from not from them,
I bought one of these recently. I haven't received it
in the mail yet. I didn't get it from them.
I got it from another outfit that sells something similar.
And I'm gonna see how well I like that, because
I do have a chest rig. I want to try
that on. But U But has anyone heard of these guys,
Iron Spear Outfitters.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Anyone who this is the first.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Time, because I don't Uh, I'd never heard of him either.
But they look like incredibly well made antennas. Here's the uh,
here's the affiliate link forum right there.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
I like that the the the routing around the backpack
or your chest hardest. Yeah, so that I could put
the radio in a bag or slot on the back
and then just have the wire.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
Well, then you put it or you put it on
your so so uh. Gastone had something like this at
Courtsfest a couple of years ago. He was showing it
to me, and I'm like, that's a really good idea.
And I don't remember the brand he was using, but
but you could put your radio on your chest rig
or even on your on your belt, and then route
the intenta around and again the antenna's not poking in
the back, and you can route it through your backpack

(40:53):
or or you can eat. Like you said, Frank, put
it on your backpack and then take a speaker microphone.
I've got my speaker microphone from it. That's what I'm
seventy five. And wrap the speaker microphone and put it
on your backpack strap here, and then keep the whole
radio and thing behind you.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
Because I have it easy to right now the radio
is sitting here to click click click click, but it's
also then the antenna is like.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
And Uh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:15):
That would be cool. So I can move it off
to the side and then have it wrap up and
just be on the back exactly.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
Yeah. So I've got a couple of things I'm working on.
Of course, you know that's a perfect environment at the
hunting leaves to uh test out stuff like that. So
I haven't ordered anything from these guys yet, but I
was wondering what you guys thought about for.

Speaker 4 (41:36):
Me, and you dropped for these guys. It's just a like,
never mind, my internet was being silly.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Okay, all right, yeah I tested these links, but I
put all these links.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
It could be always just a bad copy and paste.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Could be yeah, could be. But anyway, Iron Spirit Outfitters.
Is that one right there now, one of them? Yeah,
there's stuff's not cheap. It's made in the USA. It's
very well made, according to side it is. It's it's
not it's not cheap. So you can you can find
cheaper solutions that may or may not work as good.

(42:09):
But you know, we're not talking to We're not I'm
not trying to show everybody the most inexpensive solution. But okay,
here's a preview into something that I'm working on. Okay,
and I think we're going to talk about.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Just keep it, keep it amongst yourselves. It's a secret.

Speaker 4 (42:24):
Yeah, yeah, we're not announcing on the internet.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
I'm in fact, I'm going to talk about this website
here in a second. But all right, I ran across
an Instagram post about a comms guy talking about the balefang,
and so people were dogging him because he's using a
bowe fang.

Speaker 4 (42:43):
Okay, now come on, and then.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Are we are we still on that? Goodness?

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Yeah, But here's the here's my question. Here's my question. Okay,
all right, those of you who are hashtag two A supporters, Okay,
what would you think if you were to go to
a training exercise and a guy was to show up
with a high point pistol.

Speaker 4 (43:07):
I think the rains would tell him to leave?

Speaker 2 (43:10):
Might I would laugh quietly?

Speaker 1 (43:13):
You would laugh? Okay? So anyway, I got a video
I'm making about that. So anyway, food for thought. Food
for thought.

Speaker 4 (43:20):
That's a good analogy, and it's.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
An excellent analogy if you want. And and I don't,
I don't remember if I came up with that ever
heard that for someone else?

Speaker 3 (43:27):
But yeah, but again, it's the exact same answer. If
all you had was a high point, would you just
not carry it exactly?

Speaker 1 (43:38):
And let me let me make something clear. Anyone who
carries a bowfang on their on their tactical pack or
tactical gear or their comms pack. If you have a bowfang,
you are ten steps ahead of most people who don't
even think about comms. At Least you thought about comms.
At least you have something, because a lot of these

(44:00):
guys just like, well, I don't know, I've got a phone,
or they just don't think about it. I don't want
to talk to anybody. Okay, well yeah, I don't talk
to mebody. Then I don't know. But it's yeah, it's
kind of crazy, crazy like that. But yeah, at least
you're thinking about about comms like that. So I wanted
to talk about the iGATE many, but his website's been
down for all afternoon. So this is the I did

(44:22):
a whole video about the iGATE Mini, and I'm still
running it in the truck. It's still working very well.
It's a it's a little Raspberry pie I gate that
takes your RF signal and spits it out to APRS
DOFI for the Internet and the device itself has been
working great. I don't know what's wrong with his website,
but we won't talk much about that tonight. And then,

(44:44):
of course Kits for Hams is who makes these Sherry
All Star nodes, which I have built on the stream
and used a lot of. But if you go to
kits the number four Hams dot com, that's who sells those.
And if you're trying to get into All Star or
you want to build an All Star our kit, this
is one of the least expensive solutions to get in
the All Star and uh it's just really really good.

(45:07):
Uh kit for a for All Star stuff.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
I sent you an oddly better link for I gate
many on discord.

Speaker 1 (45:14):
Is that the c S n Yeah, oh well, I
well that was the first one I tried, and then
I backed it up. I couldn't get to that one either. Okay,
uh no, it's working. It's working now, So I tried.
I originally tried that. That's the link that he sent
that that I used in my live stream, and I
couldn't get that to pull up. So I went back one. Yeah,

(45:36):
but neither one of them were working earlier. Well, there's
the I gate Okay, that's I gate many so, and
then you three D print the case for it, and
it's uh, it's it's cool if you want to if
you want to set up an I gate at the
house or in the V I got mine running in
my truck if you want to set that up. That's
a really good piece of kit there. And then of
course that these are really good Sherry All Star.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
I talked for Hayden on that. Yeah, mine's over here.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Which one are you I know I've talked to you
on All Star before, Hayden. Which one are you running?

Speaker 4 (46:06):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (46:06):
Well, I've got two. I've got this one which is
the for the pie three, and then I've got another
one which is the one below on your screen. Share
the the yeah, the hat one, the pie hat. Yeah,
I do too. It's all about looks.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
Yep, I do too. I think that. I think it's
and it's all enclosed in a single case, so it's
more protected if you're going to move it around and whatnot.
So yeah, but the pie hat, it does it does
look good.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
I think I've got the pie hats on VHIF and
this one the plugging ones on the UA chief. But
you can mix a match and whatever you want.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
Good and then of course we're going to talk about
it was still sticking to Antenna's here Edfong Antenna's. I
sell these on my website. There's a couple of other websites.
You can get them out there. If I'm out of stock.
If I am out of stock with any of these,
it's because Edfong hasn't really finished me yet. I sell
them faster than he can make them, so but it

(47:05):
looks like I'm out of stock with the roll ups
right now. So I got the dual band in PVC
GMRS version which is monoband in PVC, and then he
makes a roll up one and that's the one I
carry in my tech Prepper Man pack with my FtM
six thousand. Did a couple of Instagram videos about that
last week. But these are really popular antennas. They sell well.
They a lot of people use them, a lot of

(47:26):
people are happy with them. It's just an antenna, a
JPOL intenna inside of a PVC pipe. There's nothing really
special about it. But if you're in an hoa it
looks like a piece of plumbing coming out of your roof.
You can totally attach it to a piece of plumbing
or a fence post or something like that. And it
doesn't look like an antenna. So it's a great way
to get on VHFUHF if you or GMRS if you

(47:48):
don't have any other options because of HOA or something
like that. And then this guy, this is another guy
that I found on Instagram just not too long ago,
but if I remember correctly, I think he's the one
that gave me the Balfang idea. Let's see he makes

(48:08):
this product here, let me find it. He's got tactical
belts here, chest streak, this one right here. So I
ordered one of these and I'm doing a video about
it when I get it. This is a really cool
three D printed case for his Balfang that has a
cover over the volume knob and over the channel selector
so that you don't bump it when it's sitting on
your on your belt or your chest or wherever you

(48:31):
have it if you reach backport and you click the
and click it off of the you know, the channel
or something like that. And I think it was this
guy that was arguing with people in the chat about
how Balfings are fine, there's nothing wrong with the ro
and I'm like, you know, you know you're not wrong,
but please don't be the guy who's making fun of
a guy with a high point at a firing range.
If you're gonna carry a balfang on your comm's ear,

(48:52):
So that's the that's all I'm saying. But this is a.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
Pretty cool reasons to carry a balfang.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
Yeah, yeah, I agree with that. I mean I carry
my bow fang sometimes at my hunting leaves because I
don't like to take my expensive radios out there, right,
but usually I take the expensive radio anyway, just kinda
I like him better. But but this guy's website is
Nordic Development Industries and he's got these he calls him

(49:19):
a fang x.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
Exo shroud like a skeleton.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
Yeah. And uh, the fact that he named it a
fang and not a bowfang. I thought that was impressive.
I was that was pretty cool with that. So there's
a link for his thing right there. Uh, let's see
any questions, Frank.

Speaker 4 (49:45):
No, not right now. All right, there's talks about high points,
and you know you really have me on that point.
I'm like, I am been in Racey's meetings where you know,
the old grumpy Hams are like it's a good radio

(50:06):
or no radio. If you have a bell, fang it,
it's a no radio. And I think that is absolute garbage.
But then you got me looking down on high Points,
So you really got me in a spot.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
Here was high Point, the one that had the Yeat
cannon model.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
Yeah, I have one one hundred and sixty dollars brand
new in a box ship one hundred and sixty bucks.
I saw that. I was like, I can't. I can't
not buy that a weight and half the price, right,
and high Points are made in the USA. Man, They're
not cheap Chinese firearms. They're made in the USA. So
I mean, you know it's not the only firearm I have.

(50:44):
I just put it that way, but yeah, the Yeat can't.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
We were at Yellowstone. Frank was going to defend himself
against the Bears for the twenty two y You know well,
I mean because I know how was going.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
To shoot me. Yeah, the Bears ate me, right.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
He was like, I'm not gonna shoot the bear, i'mssa
shoot you.

Speaker 4 (51:02):
I have a story on that. I was at a
ranger talk one time, and the ranger was going around
and asking people, like what you're doing for defensive defense
against a bear just in case, and the lad was like, well,
we got bears birthright, he asked me, I got a
twenty two and he laughed, He's like, none of y'all
hike with that guy. Yeah, And he left it at

(51:24):
that and kept on going.

Speaker 1 (51:25):
I don't blame him. Yeah, yeah, nobody hiked with that guy.
But yes, bricker House, the Nordic Place has a Motorola
relocation kit that is very interesting. He does have a
few relocation kits on his website as well. He's got
some chest.

Speaker 2 (51:43):
Tarnel pretty mack about that.

Speaker 1 (51:47):
He's got the MX Motorola adapter to be and see
some stuff like that. He's got some meshtastic stuff on
here as well, so it's an interesting website. Found him
through Instagram him again, so kind of a cool thing.
Doom scrolling right, Yeah, well, waiting for the to waiting

(52:08):
for the twelve point buck to walk out in my
deer stand. So just kind of scrolling through the Instagram.
Of course, I got to talk about digi rig. Now.
Digi rig does a lot of the stuff that Steve's
interface board does.

Speaker 3 (52:22):
Yeah, and is your exhaust theme I like Dennis.

Speaker 1 (52:25):
Yeah, but does some cool stuff.

Speaker 4 (52:28):
There were a lot of comments while we're talking about that,
You're Electronics board about Digi rig again it seems too.

Speaker 1 (52:37):
But Digi rig is now also making let's see store.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
All products different for different purposes.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
Yeah, yeah, kind of he's got these. Uh does he
have him on the website?

Speaker 2 (52:50):
I think he does.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
What are you looking for this digit TENA? Okay, yeah,
this is a smaller version of the school TENNA and
I think it's not I don't think that this is
twenty it's a twenty watch. So this is a qrp
antenna where this pool ten is one hundred wats and
one hundred wat's just fine, But this one's a little
bit small and more small and compact. And look I
got one right.

Speaker 2 (53:10):
Here, so it's pretty small.

Speaker 1 (53:13):
Yeah. So these are pretty cool. And I talked to
Dennis about these and I ordered one. I ordered this
from it because he put it on something on his
mailing list and I was like, oh, that looks cool,
So I ordered one.

Speaker 4 (53:23):
He sent me see he has a real wheel, then yeah,
that's what you need.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Thist does that also?

Speaker 1 (53:29):
FULLTENA? Does that also let you take it all off
for there?

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (53:32):
And again this full ten is one hundred antenna. This
is a twenty one antenna, so it's not exactly the
same thing. But he sent me two of these and uh,
and he's he put a note in the box and
he said, you think this might be a mystery box
out of it? And I'm like, sure, yeah, we could
put these in mystery box.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
Little.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
I mean, they're they're one hundred dollars. So he's gonna
have to do something for me on the price for that,
because I like to buy in bolt for mystery box
stuff because I'll need like one hundred. But possibly, possibly
we are going to have some Digi rigged products in
some future mystery boxes, possibly this, but if not, then
definitely some Digiti rig products in some future mystery boxes

(54:08):
as well. So but yeah, Dennis, he goes to these
organizer pouches is really cool as well, comes with a
patch and all that. Of course, I'm all about that.
Oh sorry, I'm on the wrong screen here, let's see
right there. So these organizer pouches.

Speaker 4 (54:23):
The patch are awso that's cool.

Speaker 1 (54:24):
Yeah, the patch is cool. I've got two or three.
I've got a Digi rig pouch right here like with
and they're only ten bucks and they're h I keep
the digi rig for my like my eight ninety one
in this pouch, so I know where it is all
the time.

Speaker 4 (54:42):
But can you go back to his product screen?

Speaker 2 (54:46):
Sure?

Speaker 4 (54:47):
I like to show something.

Speaker 1 (54:48):
I put a link to digit rig in the chat
right there. That is an affiliate link as well. So
let's see did yourig store all products? Scroll down?

Speaker 4 (54:58):
Scroll down? I'm looking for the these stop these cables.
They're twisted up, behave much better when dealing with digit
rigged products. So if you got a older digi rig
and your connector cable is straight, these will eliminate majority
of all the feedback issues I had with the digi

(55:20):
rig when operating on HF. So if you don't have
these cables, you need to update and replace your cables
with these ones that are spun around and like the pigtailed,
because they eliminate a lot of the feedback issues I
was having. So I just kind of wanted to point
that out because yes, that that fixed a lot of
that stuff. He also has what's what, the digit rig mini.

Speaker 1 (55:45):
Yeah, so the digg mini the light your light? The light? Yeah?
The light? This guy right here, I.

Speaker 4 (55:50):
Have this and I don't know how to properly utilize it?
Can you explain?

Speaker 1 (55:55):
So he had one of these, so I went and
I went and basically asked him that same question at Huntsville.
And these have a USB sport on the bottom of them,
so basically you plug your radio into your phone. And
what he did is he had he didn't have a phone.
He had a tablet running at the Huntsville Hamfest with
APRS droid running on the tablet and it plugged into

(56:17):
like a I think he just had it plugged into
a bowelfing. But you can plug it into any There's
different radio cables for different radios and whatnot. So you
take the radio, you plug it into the digirig light
and then you plug it into a tablet or phone
and you run wade when link over Android, or you
run APRS droid, or you run a number of other
software suites where you can you know, interface or radio.

(56:40):
Instead of interfacing with a computer, you're interfacing with an
Android device. It'll work. I believe it'll work with iPhone. Also,
I'm not one hundred percent because I don't have an iPhone,
but now that the newer iPhones with the USBC, I'm
pretty sure to work with various applications on the iPhone
as well, but it's made to be interfaced with with
a smartphone or tablet instead.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
Of a computer.

Speaker 4 (56:57):
Is there only those specific applications? Can I plug it
into a computer and then run w S at X
and have it con not control the radio, but send
the signals to the radio.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
Yeah, it's it's anything that I mean, it's anything. It's
a digital sound interface. So whatever you need, whatever application
is made to run a radio, it'll work with, okay,
And it'll plug your radio into a computer or smartphone
or tablet or something and it'll run whatever application you're
running on the smartphone, it'll run because it's a digital

(57:30):
interface to the uh, to the to the radio from there.
So yeah, it'll do all that. Okay, But these are
these are really really cool devices.

Speaker 4 (57:39):
I've been meaning to do a video on it. I
just haven't figured out how to properly utilize it yet.

Speaker 1 (57:45):
I would do a yeah, I would. I would take
your Android phone and run APRS droid and plug it
into like a Bowel fang or a or you know
that FT sixty five you got or something like that,
and then just do uh do APRS over a radio
a ht that doesn't have built in APRS with it,
and just show how you can do.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
That like a bewfang to your high point.

Speaker 4 (58:06):
Yeah, right to the high point.

Speaker 3 (58:10):
Yeah, I think they you'd still be able to see
all of the high point behind the bell.

Speaker 4 (58:13):
Thank.

Speaker 1 (58:14):
Uh No, I don't think it does cat control. Bill,
He's right. It's just as the digit rig light just
does audio. Some of the interfaces will do cat control,
uh for the for the the main digit rigs, but
the light doesn't do cat control. It's just a But
you don't need cat control for.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
Aprs. No, it's forr s.

Speaker 1 (58:32):
It's only one frequency. And and you don't really need
it for wind link because you just programmed the wind
link channels into your into your the memory channels and
change whatever your packet win link.

Speaker 3 (58:42):
A lot of people don't know this. But you don't
need it for FT eight either.

Speaker 1 (58:46):
Not really, no, because right PTT. Yeah, there's a lot
of times where well I say a lot of times.
There's a couple of times where I was plugged into
like either my ftd X ten or my UH seven
oh five, and for whatever reason, the windows box drivers
decided to crap and they didn't they they weren't controlling

(59:09):
the radio anymore. But if I tuned to the right
frequency forty meters on fourteen seventy four, I was still
hearing the audio on the computer from the radio, and
I could still work WSJTX. I just couldn't change frequencies
through GAT control works. Fine, So uh, let's see. So
the next one I want to talk about, and I've

(59:30):
talked about I've made videos about these guys before as well.
I don't know if you guys have ever used any
of these. Gosh, if I could get my screens correct,
W zero A zed Kevin. He makes these, he makes
these batteries, these external batteries for the D seventy five.

Speaker 2 (59:47):
Love good five people.

Speaker 1 (59:49):
Yeah, this is my D seventy five battery. It's a
I think it's a five VMP error battery with the
USBC port on the bottom of it. So this really
really brings your D seventy five to line life that
has the really crummy battery life with the stock batteries
from from Kinwood. And and he's got a lot of
mess stuff as well. And then he's he's got he's

(01:00:10):
got an external battery for the ft three ft five.
He's got one for the D seventy four, D seventy five,
and he's got one for the Ft seventy. He offered
to send me one for the Ft seventy after he
started making these like a year ago, and I'm like, now,
don't send me one of those, because I don't have
that radio. I'd be waste of time to send me
one of those. But he sent me one for my
my Yazu and uh and for my Kinwood, and they're

(01:00:31):
just really good. You can you do? You can save
a five percent discount on his website with the code
of k C five HWB. That's one of the few
websites we're going to talk about tonight where there's an
actual discount coupon, but k C five HWB will get
you five percent off of that every day. It's not
a Black Friday thing, it's an everyday thing. But excellent batteries,
really good expansion batteries. He's sell some other stuff in

(01:00:54):
here too, but W zero A E Z is his
call sign Kevin, and I just put that link in
the chat. Any of y'all on Zoom have any of
these batteries?

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
I do. I've got one for the ft five.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
Yeah, Okay, that was my first one. I ran that
one for a while. In fact, it's still on my
FT five. I just haven't used my FT five much
since I got the Kinwood battery because this brings us
I mean, because now your kinwood will last for two
days with this thing, and I just like I like
the interface better on the Kinwood. It has two twenty aprs,
is easier to use. So I've been carrying my Kinwood
most most days here lately. That FT five battery will

(01:01:33):
also work with the VX eight. Bill says, I don't
have the VX eight. I have the VX six, and
that is a different battery than the eight is. But yeah,
m hm reading the chat here ka two U A
U B. Those batteries are awesome. My FT five runs

(01:01:54):
for days. Yeah, yeah, they have a long long time.
Jody has one too. Okay, all right, so the last
sight we're gonna talk about tonight, and then we're just
kind of add lib after that. I think, see what
you guys are talking about in the chat. This is
Austin's website. I don't remember Austin's call sign right now,
but he was at Hamkashon last year. I think he's

(01:02:17):
overseas right now. I think he's in Europe somewhere. He
set up this website colmsdepot dot com. There's no affiliate
link or anything, commsdepot dot com. And Steve, you should
totally contact him cause what it is he told He
explained this to me. He's like, this is like an
Etsy website, but it's for hams, so people that make
stuff can put it on this website and then you

(01:02:38):
have like like this website from multiple vendors and manufacturers
and that kind of thing. In nine SAB Tom he
sells his antennas on here. He has his stuff on eBay. Also,
uh in fed antenna's we can go here. In fact,
oh here here you go here it is sellers Calm's depot,

(01:02:58):
the three D print, three D printing, ham eighth or
wave antennas, that's uh. In nine s A B. Tom
Or I'm sorry, not Tom, Tim Tim. Uh he sells
his intenna's on here. My throat's getting dry A six drink? Yeah,
ap quick cons around here now. I saw these on
my website as well. M hmm.

Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
Those quick connects are amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
I can They're pretty cool.

Speaker 4 (01:03:24):
Yeah, recommend them enough. I think they you need them
for every pack and great great thing to totally save
your butt.

Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
Yeah, there you go, Bill, Bill sharing the link in
the chat archaic concept. And this is not all Ham Radio.
Some of this is just kind of like off grid
stuff or he's got some mestastic stuff in here. Art
art art wireless. I don't know what that is. It
looks like an antenna miniature HF ballin Okay, Barber designs

(01:03:55):
or Barber Technologies. Okay, so this guy. I traded some
emails with this guy and he sent me one of
his dual band antennas. This is something else. I'm probably
gonna put it in a mystery box upcoming. This is
a very small and lightweight antenna that mounts on the
side of your house or side of your shack. And
this is a pretty cool looking vertical vertical antenna. It's
not very big and you could totally put this on

(01:04:16):
your chimney of your roof and nobody know what the
heck it was because they'd never see it. So cool
antenna on there? Uh, Barbara Bucks Tenna design. There's nothing
on there. This looks like he's got some new stuff
since I was on here last grid Base has some
stuff on here. I've talked about him in the past.
He's got some cyber deck stuff, Hamgear three D three

(01:04:43):
D printed stuff for seven oh five off grid off
grid WX off grid weather, So Austin, I think this
is his company. He's had these at these modular fueld
reference manuals. He's had these at Hamcash before. These are
really great. You can get all kinds of inserts for here,
all of your FRS mers, gm RS frequencies, marine band

(01:05:05):
frequencies that you have to google every time because you
can't remember.

Speaker 4 (01:05:08):
I don't have to write them down myself anymore, exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
Yeah, and a lot of stuff like that, I mean,
no weather frequencies, national calling frequencies, hurricane net frequencies, that
kind of stuff. A lot of stuff like that in there,
u K eight d V DDV. Not familiar with this guy,

(01:05:34):
layer fab more three D print stuff, some mesh tastic
in there. Let's see mad Gear Company. This is more.
This is more of these field reference manuals, Mad Gear
Company and oh Nordon, what do you know? This guy
that I just spoke about, he's on here now. I
didn't know he was on here before. Portable ham and

(01:05:55):
Radio made Easy, portable ham cakes, three dock and radio
made Easy. I just got some extra stuff. Oh he's
actually selling any tone radios right there. So anyway, colmsdepot
dot com. That's that's where. And Austin the guy who

(01:06:16):
runs this website. His name is Austin. He's been at
Hamcasham for the last two years, I know, maybe longer
than that. Cool guy. Uh, military veteran. I think he's
on active duty overseas. I think that's why he's overseas.
If I'm not mistaken. And uh great, if you have
a handmade product, you should reach out to him and
get your products put on here, because you know, the
more traffic he gets, some more products, he gets, some

(01:06:38):
more exposure you can get to your own stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:06:40):
Can I give you a site, Jason, sure. Let's go
to the ham Stop by Scott.

Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
Uh okay, is it the ham Stop?

Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
Yeah? The Ham Stop.

Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
After that we can look at Hayden's site.

Speaker 4 (01:06:54):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
What does Hayden have?

Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Oh all sorts of stuff. Got to the fist one.

Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
Yeah, the ham Shop, this one, No, the.

Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
This is Scott you bet Scott with the Scott is.

Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
I know who Scott is. I just can't remember his
r L. I think, yeah, that's it there right there.

Speaker 4 (01:07:22):
Yeah, these sky hooks. I just got done doing a
video series on them, and to be honest, they're amazing.
What the amount of the adapters he has now that
really makes the skyhook a versatile tool instead of a
single use tool. And I got it on a tripod.
I'm gonna mount it to my push up mast in

(01:07:44):
the backyard. They have a bunch of guying solutions and
also waste of mount hamsticks and those big the big holes.
You can also run infed halfway slope at slopers or
even verticals off of these. They're they're awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:08:01):
Yeah. When he first started making these, he was making
them for those uh those portable those No, not.

Speaker 4 (01:08:06):
The push I'm it was the military.

Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
The military masks that were like the four foot sections
and you carried him around in the bag. I hate
those things and I agreed hate them.

Speaker 4 (01:08:17):
That's why I stayed away from them.

Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
Heavy you put Noel. Noel used to bring those to
fueld Day and he did. Noel did a good job
with setting them up and whatnot. He like, he was like, well,
it's a it's a cheap solution, and he's right, it is.
It's a cheap because you can buy they're super cheap, yeah,
at a hamfest for next to nothing. But they come
in this big, huge bag and there's like twenty of
them in there, and they're heavier than hell, and and
when you get more than like six or seven of them,

(01:08:41):
they just they get kind of wobbly. You got to
guy the hell out of them. And I just I
never liked it. I was like, I don't, I don't.
I understand if if you're if you're really really really
on a tight budget, then okay, and somebody gives them
to you, then okay. But I just never liked those.
But with these adapters that he's makings, yes, these will

(01:09:01):
allow you to put them on just about anything because
these are adjustable adapters that go inside the center ring
of these hams, these skyhooks, and yeah, and they'll though
you can put them on like a Gigaparts mast or
a Spiderbeams mast or something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:09:17):
With the pod, yes, Scott says, he just upgraded the
pod and I that that's where this sign is for me.
So putting on a pod tripod, I don't need guying anything,
but I can have hamsticks mounted to them.

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
Yeah, all day, yep. So yeah this, yeah, this is
a good product too. I'm I'm glad you brought those up.
All right. What's Hayden's website.

Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
So shop dot ham Radio d x dot net. Is
it cold down there?

Speaker 4 (01:09:53):
Hidden?

Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Yeah, no, it's getting it's getting warmer down here, that's
but it's getting cold for you guys in the all then.

Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
Half I know it's opposite because you're upside down right now.

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Right. So I basically went through and redid a lot
of my ham Radio merch So I've got some different
shirt designs which you can go into and have a
look at. A couple of stickers.

Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
What is that that? I know?

Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
There is a five twenty as well. Click on the
shirt to the left, actually just to left that sticker. No,
not that one. The next best one here, Yeah, this
one was. This one's a good one.

Speaker 1 (01:10:31):
I'm monitor seventy.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Yeah. So there's a couple of humorous ones there, but
then there's also some helpful things as well. So I'm
coming out with a couple of these. I did a
video on what bands are good for what like, on
what frequencies. So we made up like a little desk
mat here which basically has all of the best use

(01:10:58):
cases with the bands on it. You can also get
this in a poster form as well. That lovely lady
is holding it up for me, so yeah, I'm coming
out with you those type of things as well.

Speaker 1 (01:11:12):
So yeah, I like that.

Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
And there's heaps of band plan stuff for the US,
but I'm coming out with one for v K. It's
just taking a little bit longer, so there's going to
be some band planned things on there too.

Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
Do you have a drop sister of the drop shipping
in the United States for these or are you shipping
them from down under?

Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
No, So the US ones will come from the US,
UK ones will come from the UK and all around
the world. So that's good because that's a real headache
with we're trying to do things like the digital interfaces.
I'll send to from directly from here. I've also got
some of the way go to powerpole adapters as well,
but they are they're sent for here, so but everything

(01:12:01):
costs a little bit more to send it overseas of course.

Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
Right, Yeah, okay, cool, I'm glad you shared that with me.
I didn't I didn't know you had you put a
lot of work into this.

Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
Yeah, there's some bit more bits and pieces going on there.
So but hopefully we'll come out with some some cooler
designs and yeah, add them as we go. Cool.

Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
Okay, sent you a discord free him made Anderson to
waggle variation. It's like the uh let's see, Oh it's uncrinibles. Okay,

(01:12:48):
let's see pull this down here.

Speaker 4 (01:12:52):
I don't want to pay tariffs on the shirt.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Yeah, yeah, there's no tariffs on that.

Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
Okay. So also these I think I've seen something like
these before. Yeah, but yeah, instead of having them like
the ap quick cons are one piece that you just
put each piece inside of this three D printed case.
That's kind of a neat idea.

Speaker 4 (01:13:17):
M Okay, that's interesting, Paul.

Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
You have anything else on your shop there? There's he's
got a shop on printables. It looks like several things. Yeah,
you've got a few things on a shop here. Sterlink Mini,
roof rack mount nice.

Speaker 3 (01:13:41):
Those were on Black Friday sale too, like two hundred
dollars off.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
Uh what the Sterlinkinnie itself mini? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:13:50):
In fact, I'm pretty sure it was this time last
year when I bought my Starlink Mini on the Black
Friday because it was like normally five ninety nine and
they had it on for like three p fifty or
something like that. So, yeah, that doesn't surprise me that
they're doing that again. Good.

Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
I only need it like twice a year now, even
a court site. You don't need it anymore, do you not?

Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
I turned it on by.

Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
Accident, quote unquote by accident last year at court site,
and right after I turned it on, I realized that
my T mobile cellular hotspot was giving me like twenty
five bags up. I'm like, oops, hey, guys, accidentally turned
this on. I didn't use it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
Can you turn it back off?

Speaker 4 (01:14:29):
Please?

Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
They did well, I mean they got good customer service.
But now they don't let you pause it for free.
You've got to pay to pause it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:38):
What right?

Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:14:39):
Yeah, you have to pay it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
I mean it's not much and you still get you
still get five dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:14:43):
It's five dollars a month.

Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
Yeah, it's be with it. You still get unlimited. But
it's like five hundred k up and down or something.

Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
Yeah. They say it's good for check an email and
that's about it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
It's actually funny story with those. We've got a lot
of thys around here where they set up for cameras
in remote areas taking photos of fires, push fires, and
then they upload them via starlink. Can they just use
the smallest plan on the standby plan to upload the photo?
And because I don't need a lot of bandwidth right.

Speaker 4 (01:15:16):
Not for just a single photo.

Speaker 2 (01:15:18):
No, you could do that every few seconds?

Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
Hmm good?

Speaker 4 (01:15:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:15:25):
I paid a pause A little bit crazy. I should
I should just disconnect because I had that. I got
that first star Link that I haven't used in like
a year and just started having to pay for it
like two months ago, So I need to just disconnect it.

Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
I had a service where I called and I said,
can we pause it? And they're like, oh, yeah, we'll
pause your service. I was like yeah, I got unemployed.
Then the next month they hit my credit card again.
I called them back and they're like, I thought you
said you'd pause this. Oh. Our policy means we're not
coming out to service to you when you pause, but
we're still going to charge you the form out.

Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
Well, that's not a pause.

Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
I don't think you understand what that.

Speaker 4 (01:16:02):
That's what happened. And I yelled at him and I
got my money back and in and cancel it at all.
But still I'm not gonna say who it was, but
it happened. I was like, you can pause, means you're
not coming out, but then you're still charging me for
the full amount.

Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
Right, Yeah, that doesn't make any sense at all. What
about those great things from K six A r K.

Speaker 2 (01:16:29):
That's who's that those are on?

Speaker 1 (01:16:32):
Uh on? He has a web he has it?

Speaker 4 (01:16:37):
Does K six A r K dot com?

Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
Yeah, he's out of his hundred what direct.

Speaker 1 (01:16:46):
Connect he's been out of there. Yes, he's been out
of those for a year or more.

Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Build Instructions by kid Supports. Yeah, here we go, q
r P twenty one one hundred what Yeah, this one
right here. I have one of these that I built
and I've never made a video for because it's been
out of stock ever since I built it. And I'm like,
I really really want to make a video about this
freaking thing, but it's it's been out of stock. And

(01:17:18):
I asked him about that, am mentioned He's like, he's like, man,
I just don't get a lot of request for that one.
I'm like, well, okay, you do what you got to do.

Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
Then. Is that the same problem with the dates Command
that you've got as well.

Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
No, that's not the same problem. It's totally different, totally
different problem with that. Have you still got that? Is that, yes,
I've got a new one. Now I hadn't built. I
had the I had the Classic, and I think I
I think I gave it away or something I don't
remember now. And then he sent me one of his
new expeditions and he's like, because I sent him pictures

(01:17:50):
of the Classic I had, and he's like, man, those
parts are so outdated. He goes, don't even build that thing.
I'm like, okay, so oh there's advocable right now. But
but yeah, so I've got a I've got an expedition
that I have not built.

Speaker 4 (01:18:07):
Young, Can I give an update on mind? Sure? I
been using the d X Commander mast and I accidentally
broke the top element. Oops, it fell. It fell because
someone was not paying attention as they were walking their
stupid dog, and the least wrapped around it and pulled

(01:18:30):
out my stakes and they want to hit the ground.
The top element snapped. So I know Giga Parks was
talking about trying to sell individual elements for replacements. Does
he do that?

Speaker 1 (01:18:44):
I think? I think if you contact him.

Speaker 4 (01:18:46):
I think, I think because I just need the top element,
because I really like the mast. The mask was great,
especially running verticals that can interact with the carbon fiber masks.
That's a great alternative to have, and this another tool.
But I was just annoyed by this woman walking her
dog and I watched it happen and the dogs ran

(01:19:07):
out like a bird and r and it was it
was like, you gotta be kidding me.

Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
Oh gosh. Adam says he's out of stock of most
stuff right now, but I should have another batch of
kits to Amazon in early December, So there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:19:25):
Someone in the chat, John Henry is asking, is there
a screen magnifier for the gene ninety.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Old kind of Yeah, I have that closet.

Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
Oh do not get the what that? Do not get
the gesawk?

Speaker 4 (01:19:44):
The g Yeah, yeah, yeah. I tried to get that
to work. I spent months trying to troubleshoot that and
then I just gave up.

Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
The gesack is one of those things that yeah, that's
one of those things that Zaygu came up with and
then they just for whatever reason, just forgot about it
and stopped updating. For We're on it, so they just
never it never Yeah, it never really worked good in
the first place, and they never provided any firmware updates
for it, so kind of wasted time.

Speaker 4 (01:20:14):
Great VNPONA. Yeah, they will send you the section is
for the cost of a new antennis system.

Speaker 1 (01:20:21):
I'm sure you would do that. I bet if you
contact Hayden and tell him who you are, I bet
he'd send you one of those. No, I mean Calum Hayden.
They're both in the UK, actually both lords.

Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
Did you know that?

Speaker 1 (01:20:35):
Yeah, yeah, he sent me a lord thing to Yeah,
I'm a lord as well. Yeah, if you contact Callum,
I bet he would send you one. He might charge
you for shipping, but you know, or he might charge
you for the whole thing. I don't know. I don't
he may or may not send you one. I bet
he would send you one. I bet he would be
willing to send you a piece. You may have to
pay for it. But he doesn't know a section, the

(01:20:55):
sections a poll though.

Speaker 2 (01:20:57):
I don't know the sections.

Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
But yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, he sells he
sells the whole mast of course. Yeah, but I bet
he's got some extra sock in.

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
The chat Alpha Ndia five Hotel. Victor said he bought
a G sock and got it to work for the
G ninety. He's probably the one that few have gotten
into actual work.

Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
You should totally make a video on that, because the
only one on YouTube where is actually working.

Speaker 4 (01:21:21):
Question question from Dennis, how about mini or micro paddles?
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (01:21:28):
He's talking to I think he's talking to Adam. I
was talking about some of his paddles.

Speaker 4 (01:21:33):
Yeah. Well, I was just trying to give you another
chance to show add ons paddles or someone else's small
little paddles because there's a lot of paddle makers out there.
M I'm not reading that one.

Speaker 1 (01:21:50):
Oh right, KB five U two Y. Dave says they
have a warranty. If you email them, they will send
you another one at cost.

Speaker 4 (01:21:57):
Well, it's the this is like Jason said, these are old.
These are old.

Speaker 1 (01:22:03):
Uh well, okay, I don't know. Those masks haven't changed
in a while though, they're no I mean a mass
is a mask. He does have a green He has
that green one now that he came up with like
a year and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:22:15):
I want one. I gotta have one. Yeah, I'm gonna
have to buy a new one now.

Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
Green Adam says he doesn't sell any of his paddles.
They are all on printables to make for free. Oh yeah,
go print them.

Speaker 4 (01:22:34):
He does amazing panels, amazing paddles.

Speaker 1 (01:22:38):
Yeah, yeah, totally.

Speaker 4 (01:22:40):
I don't want to get into three D printing. That's
just another side jaunt that I don't have time for it.

Speaker 1 (01:22:47):
I've actually enjoyed it. I've enjoyed doing a lot of
three D printing on on my stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:22:51):
So I looked at it, Frank and was just like,
that's it's it's a whole new world of things, lots
of my need, lots of time, full time job.

Speaker 4 (01:23:02):
Yeah, I don't need another expensive hobby. That's what I
look at it. And the ones that do get it
to work is it's awesome and it's fun and amazing,
and I grant you that world, but it's not something
I want to get into genuinely.

Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
What you do is you just make those people your
friends and then they will go and print stuff for you.

Speaker 4 (01:23:20):
Right Hey, Jason, I got something for you to print
real fast.

Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
I used to say, Kyle file files all the time.
He's like, you print this for me?

Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
Yeah, I mean as you get older, You need a
couple of very specific friends in life. You need a
big friend to defend you when you make stupid comments
when you're drunk. You a truck friend to help you move,
you an ugly friend to make you look good. And
you need a three D printer friend.

Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
Now that's all economy around it, Isn't they having friends?

Speaker 1 (01:23:49):
Oh? Yeah, all right, James is asking and I missed
it because guess what there's message is flying by no way?
I can read everything. Are you guys avoiding my suggestion
for an Oklahoma based antenna companies? I didn't. I didn't
see a suggestion, so I don't know what you're talking.

Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
Perhaps somebody else suggested, right, They were talking about our
N six A r A.

Speaker 1 (01:24:15):
Also yeah, apparently he uh he makes paddles too, I think,
is what they were saying.

Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Scott from Hamstop is in the chat too.

Speaker 1 (01:24:25):
Yeah, he's often in here. I haven't seen him today.
Where is Oh? There he is.

Speaker 4 (01:24:28):
Yeah, that's why I was like, oh I got to
talk about the ham Stop. Yeah, I really like the
is a skyhook.

Speaker 1 (01:24:37):
Quebec's squads Yeah you were, you were? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:24:44):
And then there is uh gear Forever with the really
cool hats.

Speaker 1 (01:24:53):
Quebec. Who's are these guys? At? Him mentioned I think
i've these before.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
He was at Huntsville.

Speaker 1 (01:25:06):
Oh was he?

Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
Okay, he would have to the pizza place.

Speaker 1 (01:25:11):
Six meter two. Oh you make it too. Oh so
these are VHF quads.

Speaker 2 (01:25:17):
Oh now he'll do whatever quad you want. He sells
the big boy antennas.

Speaker 1 (01:25:23):
Too, yellow jacket, forty two foot boom les. Holy crap, dude,
look at that. I said, it's five hundred watts. O fail,
it's not it's not full power, but hey for one
hundred and forty bucks.

Speaker 3 (01:25:36):
Okay, five hundred wants on VHF though.

Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
Yeah, yeah, true, true, yeah, but it's like, you know,
it's like, if you're gonna buy a VHF amplifier, you
either you can take that that mirage that's like one
hundred and sixty watts, or you get like a killowatt
because to have a because to have a five hundred
wat amp is probably like one hundred bucks cheaper than
the kill of what amp guy?

Speaker 2 (01:25:59):
The killer? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
Yeah, talking about peril and getting your call sign on staged.

Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
Mode right four over four nice?

Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
Yeah, awesome, These prices are really cool. Yeah, that's yeah.
The four elaments.

Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
Only you get the four eleament look in the RV park.

Speaker 4 (01:26:27):
Yeah, I'm actually saving this website big.

Speaker 1 (01:26:29):
Eight element for two thirty. Put that thing up in
U go to go to something like Burning Man and
put that up, and or death c and put that
up and uh and see how how many conspiracy theorists
come by with a tinfoil ad on and say what
are you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
Hey, I gotta I'll got a one for you, all right,
maddogcoils dot com? Dou mariy, I've heard of those mad
ht dot com?

Speaker 4 (01:26:59):
Do you.

Speaker 2 (01:27:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
Dot com?

Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
So, he said. He ships to the US as well.
He makes a lot of coil antennae similar to the
Wolf River Wolf River Yeah yeah, and he also does
some infants and other bits and pieces which are really cool.

Speaker 4 (01:27:18):
Ye. Can I share a gripe about coils?

Speaker 1 (01:27:22):
Sure you don't understand them?

Speaker 4 (01:27:25):
Well, no, I understand them. I was talking to Jeff
about this when we were playing with the hamsticks. I
don't mind finicking and tweaking a system to get it
perfect when I'm setting it up for the first time
or building it out, But once that's done, I don't
want to tweak it. I want to throw it out
in the field and be done with it. So a coil.
Depending on what kind of ground you got around you,

(01:27:47):
it can change where you need to tap that coil,
and then you need to keep, you know, constantly kind
of tuning it and tweaking it throughout the use of it.
And that's my gripe. I I don't want to constantly
do that. I just want on a tap at once
and get it perfect and then never have to worry
about it again.

Speaker 2 (01:28:04):
So Marty on those ones, if you go down again,
he's got those those big collars on them that are
jumped up and down to pick your tap point. Every
time I've set Minor, I've used the same tap point
and the same counterpoys on the bottom of the coil,
and I haven't really had to tweak it other than
maybe in my tuna.

Speaker 3 (01:28:27):
I'm just saying that it must be weird because I
like to tap it multiple times.

Speaker 2 (01:28:31):
Well, that allows you to tap it multiple you can
put collars.

Speaker 4 (01:28:35):
Are you setting it up in different grounds or different areas?
I say ground ground potential.

Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
So I've been setting them up on a tripod, and
the tripod is usually the same height above the ground
all the time. So maybe that's what it is.

Speaker 4 (01:28:47):
That that could you know, try to take that about.
So do you run a counterpoys system with it?

Speaker 2 (01:28:52):
Yeah? So it plugs into the I don't know if
you can zoom in on the bottom of that for
one of those photos of with coils, So just click
on the click on one of those one. Yeah, I
think the bottom if you zoom up, if you can
zoom up on the phone he.

Speaker 1 (01:29:09):
Didn't have.

Speaker 2 (01:29:11):
On the bottom. It allows you to plug in where
all of your counterpois wires would go into using a
banana plug on the bottom. So yeah, the same wires.

Speaker 4 (01:29:18):
Frank, do you keep the counterpoys off the ground? It
just tached it like a couple things on the ground. Okay, yeah,
that could be since it's up in the air, is
taking away the different ground potentials that setting up. But
I every time I set up a coil system, I've
seen my I have to mess with it to get
it nice again.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
It also depend on what band you're on too, so
like if you're on eighty meters or he makes a call,
you can get on one sixty meters. Because the bandwidths
so small, you will have to tweak it all the time.
But the forty meter and the twenty.

Speaker 4 (01:29:51):
Mins, I'm okay tweaking it to get the different bands.
But once I find that sweet point, I want to
lock those different parts down and I don't have to
worry about it. I just want to walk over unplugged
from twenty plug into forty and doesn't matter where.

Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
Yeah, just so on that on the first coils that
you showed, you can put multiple collars on, so when
you actually go and tweak them and get them in
the right spot, you just go and move the jump
of plug.

Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
Yeah, maybe I just need more experienced pull the buddy
pool does that too. Yeah, Yeah, this one's cool. I
like this one. This is a work band thirty seventeen
and twelve meters. That's a good idea. I love working
ft eight on those bands, especially twelve meters when it's open.
So that would be a fun intended to have the
fifty six to one transformer. He says, that's cool. And

(01:30:36):
you know these prices are not ninety nine bucks for
that that's not bad at all.

Speaker 2 (01:30:39):
Well that that's Australian dollars as well, so it's actually
lower than that in US.

Speaker 1 (01:30:43):
Oh okay, okay, it's got the dollar sign. Next era
is y'all's dollars signed the same as our dollars sign.

Speaker 2 (01:30:48):
Yeah it is, okay, okay, we're not completely different.

Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
Well a lot of a lot of countries have a
different dollars sign for their for their currency, and us too.

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
Don't you hate it? No, we don't climb. If you
go back to his main web On the main page,
it says that all the prices are in Australian currency.
So it's actually so what ninety nine dollars is like
seventy dollars seventy five dollars US something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:31:13):
See that's a really good cheaper.

Speaker 2 (01:31:15):
So everything's cheaper, so you're saving already. But yeah, Baddy,
this is VK four k C. He makes all of
these and and they're all handmade as well. So he
he goes and makes all of the coils himself, all
of the antennas himself, and they're really good, good awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:31:37):
From Bill, he says, a pac tenor is a everyday carry,
and I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
Of course it is, of course it is. Yeah, pack
tener would be.

Speaker 4 (01:31:45):
And I am sad in that I don't han't a
pac tenner yet. I need to resolve that.

Speaker 1 (01:31:50):
Here's here's here's why no one likes tim. Okay, I
don't often do contesting, but when I do, I do
it on thirty, seventeen and twelve. Uh contesting on right,
yeah exactly, no, no, I yeah, I love to PoTA
on those bands and then have people come by and say,
you know, this is not a contest. I'm like, pota's

(01:32:11):
not a contest. Go away fang lever.

Speaker 3 (01:32:15):
Or as a contest, right yeah, DXCC is a contest.

Speaker 1 (01:32:24):
Mad Dog Coils and Quebec's Quad intent I'm sorry. Those
quebecs Quad intentas are really I mean, I hope they're
well made. I'm gonna have to get one and see that.
The price for that is incredibly good. I mean, that's
a low price for a quad Intent.

Speaker 4 (01:32:41):
But it looks like it's PBC pipe and.

Speaker 1 (01:32:44):
That's okay some yeah, so that I don't know if
they're well no, it says no, okay, so right, okay,
let me bring this back up again. This one right
here says aluminum boom to massed plate for center all
fiberglass construction.

Speaker 4 (01:32:58):
Mm hmm. That's the hundred and forty dollars version.

Speaker 1 (01:33:01):
Uh, that's the that's the four element yellow. So the butterfly.

Speaker 2 (01:33:08):
Is this?

Speaker 4 (01:33:08):
What Robert? How do we always come back to Robert?
Robert came up in my livestream too, is setting up
in his backyard for his satellites.

Speaker 1 (01:33:17):
No, his are his or M squared? Okay, his are
M squared and they're they're solid steel. And I know
they're M squared because the year he bought him at
him mention, I carried him home for him in my truck.
And they're not that. They're not that. I mean they
break down. That wouldn't any big deal to do that.

Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
But you know who we haven't looked at quick?

Speaker 1 (01:33:37):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (01:33:37):
James?

Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
I thought about him earlier today and I just forget,
forgot to put him on there.

Speaker 4 (01:33:42):
He's always around. We just assume everyone knows about his stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:33:46):
Actually, haven't seen him in the chat in a while.

Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
James, are you pop up? I'm sure he was, James.

Speaker 1 (01:33:54):

say my name?

Speaker 2 (01:33:57):
He got Christmas?

Speaker 1 (01:34:00):
Yeah? What vintage radio design? It's it's wrapping paper, wrapping
the radio one and that freaking cool. I'm wearing my fan,
I'm wearing my fang converse today. I wear my fan
converse all day today.

Speaker 2 (01:34:18):
They would like a link to okay, a link to
sorry I was he was. My Frank does that too.

Speaker 1 (01:34:27):
But he's got some cool. Yeah, yeah, James has had
some cool.

Speaker 4 (01:34:33):
I've been drinking tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:34:34):
If you just tell this fang pillow that I keep
behind me was his.

Speaker 4 (01:34:39):
So you have a fang pillow.

Speaker 2 (01:34:42):
Yeah, I don't know what.

Speaker 1 (01:34:48):
The best thing you can do with the bowl fang
is making into a pillow because it actually works as
a pillow. I mean, you know, yeah, fang pillows on
all my videos that I do that I show the meter.

Speaker 2 (01:34:59):
On take radio.

Speaker 4 (01:35:02):
He's, uh, yeah, there there's a pillow for me.

Speaker 1 (01:35:12):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
I have Oh here it is. It's behind the monitor.

Speaker 1 (01:35:19):
Damn, oh you have it there it is.

Speaker 4 (01:35:22):

Speaker 2 (01:35:24):
Sleep that every night.

Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
Mm hmmm, uh k five you two. I was saying,
performance z raise. Oh yeah, you know. In fact, John
emailed me this week. Yes, he emailed me this week
and uh, he's got a new he's got a new
prototype he's working on or something, and he wants to
send it to me to do a video. And I'm like, yeah,

(01:35:49):
that'd be freaking cool. So he had that, he had
that set up at Huntsville and those were that was
cool that it was cool to be able to see
point it that way, point it that way with just
a turn of a switch. And here are the difference
in the radio.

Speaker 2 (01:36:04):
Perf.

Speaker 4 (01:36:05):
What is that. I'm trying to find that site right
now googling it.

Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
Which what is what?

Speaker 1 (01:36:10):
It's an antenna portable.

Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
Z rais performance is z rays.

Speaker 1 (01:36:15):

You recognize him if you see his face.

Speaker 3 (01:36:23):
That was before his COVID nineteen all right, medical the
weight king, you know, like the freshman forty whatever it
is Freshman twenty COVID nineteen.

Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
A few people have mentioned in the chat VK three
a MP amplifiers as well. That's another good one.

Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
What kind of amps does he make?

Speaker 2 (01:36:45):
HF amplifiers HF amplifiers. Yeah. He also has a few
other different kits as well that you can build, and
antenna switches and other things.

Speaker 1 (01:37:00):
That link in the chat there.

Speaker 4 (01:37:01):
Yeah, sorry that Lexia killed that one.

Speaker 1 (01:37:04):
No, it's all right, I got it.

Speaker 2 (01:37:05):
And John's got a Black Friday sale coat on as well.

Speaker 1 (01:37:09):
It's on the on the side off to the side
over there.

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
Yeah, okay, notice Black Friday been getting earlier and earlier
and earlier.

Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
Oh gosh, yeah, like the sales themselves. Yeah, it was
like like I did a Black Friday video on Halloween.
It was Black Friday. I was getting I was getting
emails in the week before Halloween, so I'm like, well,
it's Halloween, let's do a Black Friday.

Speaker 3 (01:37:35):
He's already got his these chair decorations up.

Speaker 4 (01:37:38):
Jesus, Christmas is not allowed to happen until after Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (01:37:44):
Oh that's not true, Yes it is.

Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
I don't want to see any Christmas decorations.

Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
Down. That solve problem, right, I'm okay.

Speaker 4 (01:37:54):
With that one though, as long as they're not turned
on year round.

Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
Oh yes, every night, every night? Yeah yeah, jeesh.

Speaker 1 (01:38:05):
All right, well we're starting to people are starting to
drop off. We were pretty steady around three twenty three
thirty watching for a while, and now it's at two eighty.
So we've people are tired of listening to us, so
we'll go ahead and shut it down. I don't blame him.
I'd be tired of listening to me mine now too.

Speaker 2 (01:38:18):
Yeah, so we do want to say anything, but yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:38:22):
Well you know, we got nine radio I know that.

Speaker 1 (01:38:26):
I know that's not true for you, Hayden. You we'll
say stuff all the time. So all right, what's coming
up too? What's coming up on your channel? Are you
doing that tomorrow?

Speaker 4 (01:38:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:38:36):
Tomorrow night Ham Nuggets seven pm Central, temporarily offline YouTube channel.
We're giving away nine radios.

Speaker 2 (01:38:43):
So what radio joined us?

Speaker 3 (01:38:46):
A couple of well most of them are hts, but
we're also giving away the G one oh six from
Zaigu and it's sponsored by Redivus and Radiotity.

Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
So good do a super good job.

Speaker 3 (01:38:56):
We'll chat about him for a while, so it'd be
about an hour of giveaways.

Speaker 1 (01:39:02):
Goodness.

Speaker 4 (01:39:02):
Do I have to be present to win?

Speaker 3 (01:39:05):
Yes, you have to take something in the chat in
order to be selected. I mean you can have your chat, monk,
you do.

Speaker 1 (01:39:10):
It, Hayden. What about you? What's going up on your channel?

Speaker 2 (01:39:17):
I don't have an awful lot coming up on the
channel because I've been busy building out my ham Radio
in thirty days zero to hero course, so I've got
that dropping in the next well hopefully in the next
in the next month. So if you go to Ham
Radio DX dot net forward slash thirty days you can
learn a little bit more about that, so hopefully that
will help out some people. And yeah, I'm trying to think.

(01:39:39):
I think there's a kind of review of some ZAC
Tech Whisper transmitted products. They're coming up soon. So yeah,
but that's that's what I've been working on for the
last couple of weeks.

Speaker 4 (01:39:51):
Is the question is that zero two hero Is it
focused on Australian amateur radio and frequencies and laws or
all amateur radio?

Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
No, so it's all amateur radio and it's not really
location based. It's all practical stuff, so it's not going
to be yeah, how.

Speaker 1 (01:40:10):
To get on that? That's good.

Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
Yeah, all the practical things, the lingo that you can expect,
all of the you know what you need to look
for when you go looking to buy radio, how to
program it up, all those sort of things.

Speaker 4 (01:40:24):
So cool, cool, good And where's that going to be available?

Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
I'll post a link in the chat.

Speaker 4 (01:40:31):
Yeah, it's all questions for that already.

Speaker 1 (01:40:35):
Yep, what about you, Frank.

Speaker 4 (01:40:36):
Coming up on my I almost said station channel. I
am looking forward to posting the final video about the
messtastics and how it worked in a super crowded environment
where your cell phone signaled. It's shy and how you
get a signal out to people that are not on
amateur radio. And that's going to be coming up next week.

(01:40:58):
And after that, Lord, I don't know, it's it's December.
Can we just take a month off?

Speaker 1 (01:41:04):
Nope? Yeah, I know right, we're going to do holidays,
say a lot of there's a you want to take
December or January off?

Speaker 4 (01:41:13):
December?

Speaker 1 (01:41:14):
Oh, I guess you could take December off. There's a
lot of cool stuff happening in January. I know.

Speaker 4 (01:41:18):
That's why we can't take January off.

Speaker 1 (01:41:21):
Nope.

Speaker 4 (01:41:22):
I just get my birthday off. That's all I want.

Speaker 1 (01:41:26):
Next time, be born on someday besides January first.

Speaker 4 (01:41:29):
Frank, hey man, it's amazing on January first.

Speaker 1 (01:41:32):
I bet, I bet it is.

Speaker 4 (01:41:34):
I guess, fireworks, alcohol, it's everything, the whole world parties.
Frank is here.

Speaker 1 (01:41:41):
Yeah, we're going to do another. We didn't do a
happy hour last New Year's Eve. We're going to do
one this year or so be looking forward to that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
It'll be January the first, Hea.

Speaker 1 (01:41:51):
I know, so you're you will have to tell us
what it's like. And I need you to bring a
lottery hung over.

Speaker 2 (01:41:58):
Did I do the lottery on New Year's I.

Speaker 1 (01:42:01):
Don't know, but like maybe it depends on what day
of the week it is. I guess right, it's Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Speaker 2 (01:42:06):
Here I think it's a Sunday, but I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
All right, Does Paul have a stream going?

Speaker 4 (01:42:13):
Yes he does. He's talking about free DV and something
else earlier.

Speaker 1 (01:42:20):

Speaker 2 (01:42:22):

Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
Steve Yep. Yeah, that's Central time, Texas time, Central times.
That's why they call it central time.

Speaker 1 (01:42:51):

Speaker 2 (01:42:53):

Speaker 1 (01:42:54):

Speaker 2 (01:43:09):

came over there was moving through all the was four
time zones.

Speaker 4 (01:43:15):
How does Australia do it? Out of curious.

Speaker 2 (01:43:19):
No, don't even start daylight savings once that rolls over.
We have four five time zones five.

Speaker 4 (01:43:28):
I really wanted to get daylight savings gone. I am
so tired of it.

Speaker 2 (01:43:32):
I'm so Arizona.

Speaker 4 (01:43:34):
