El-Hajj Mauri Saalakhan is a writer, poet, and a Metropolitan Washington, DC, based human rights advocate. His work, spanning four decades, has taken him to Africa, Europe, the Indian subcontinent, and the Middle East.
He presently serves as Director of Operations for The Aafia Foundation, Inc. In today's show we discuss his upbringing (ups and downs) , his time with he Black Panther Party, his time with the Nation of Islam, his move to Sunni Islam and his journey  as a advocate and warrior for justice.
