Speaker 1 (00:00):
On your Mark, get ready start.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Broadcasting from California and Delaware.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
This is the Hard Rocking Trivia Show and here your
host Mark and Danny.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
All Right, everybody, welcome back to the Hard Rocking Trivia Show.
We got a kind of a special episode tonight. We've
been to a bunch of shows recently, a bunch of
rock shows. As the guys about Cherry would say, welcome
to the rock Show. So we've we've been to I
guess we've each been to two separate shows on our
(01:01):
respected coast. So we're gonna we're gonna go by. We're
gonna go chronologically by when we've each seen these groups. So, uh,
the first set we saw, we both saw Marvelous Three.
Mark saw them in l A And I flew down
to Atlanta with my brother and we saw them in Atlanta,
(01:23):
their hometown. So we'll go We'll go with Mark, what'd
you think of Marvelous Three when they.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Hit l all right, So Marvelous Three.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Just so a little backstory in the Marvelous Three, for
I know they're not a household name, but it's a band.
It's a band that Danny Knight love and they've lived
for years but never got to see them, because you know,
they kind of disbanded in the early two thousands before
we had a chance to discover them and realize how
freaking great they are. So they're basically there was a
(01:55):
band in the nineties called the South Gang with four
guys in the band. Uh. That band lasted for two
records and got dwopped because the whole crunch thing hit
and their music kind of went out of style. So
South Gang pretty much ditched their lead singer. The three
remaining guys all from the Atlanta area Cartersville that that
(02:18):
whole area, they formed kind of an alternative power pop
band called The Marvelous Three who released three albums in
the late nineties early two thousands, and they released one
more last year.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
So they're not that active very often.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
So in the last couple of years they've been playing
like a series of like five shows in specific towns.
So and they finally decided to have a couple of
shows in La So I took the wife. So on
September thirtieth, we went down to a place called DP
hair Graham Ballroom. I've lived in this area for like
(02:59):
like thirty years, never heard of this place. Turns out
The Teargram Ballroom was built in like nineteen thirteen, and
it used to be a movie theater before sound. So
that's how old this place is. And I guess it
shut down over the years and some guy about ten
(03:20):
years ago renovated it and turned it into a rock club.
I mean, and it still looks like it's an old,
old timey place in a really bad neighborhood. It's downtown La.
So La, if you've been to La, we have skyscrapers,
but they're really not much to speak of. They're probably
(03:42):
I don't know, maybe fifty to one hundred rooms and
maybe five or six buildings, and that's our skyscraper. It's
not like Chicago or New York. So it's in that
area town and a lot of homeless in that area.
And if you know anything about downtown La, if the
streets start in number, they're not good. We run. We
(04:04):
run seventh Street, not good. Found our parking in one
of those twenty four hour parking places.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Walk right next to a.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Really sketchy apartment complex, lots of homes was hanging out there,
and Sylvy's like, I'm not too sure about this. I'm like,
just stay close and Luckily it was only a two
block roll to the venue. Got there about man six
fifty doors open at seven. Was kind of shocked to
(04:36):
see a superass long line go see the Marvelous Three
in American Hi fi Wow?
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Who so okay, wow, there's a line for this.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
So you know, we had to go on the block
and go stand in line, probably about I would say,
maybe two hundred people in line already before the place opened.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
They started chatting up people in line. They said the
people in the front of the line had been there
since eleven in the morning. Oh geez, I mean eleven
in the morning, I guess.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
So.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
I mean, sure, I love the Marvelous Three, but I'm
not gonna spend seven hours, actually eight hours in line
to get in there. And this was general mission, so
you know, there's a stage when you walk in, and
everything's pretty much flat, and there's a small balcony way
in the back. But there was enough room. It says
(05:34):
a capacity was six hundred. I think they really could
put another They could put a thousand people in there,
but to be safe, six hundred is there's enough breathing
room in there, and we're not squashed in there. So
that was good, so you know, we had weight line.
The lady next to us in front was from Vancouver.
It's like, wow, you can't flew all the way down
(05:55):
from Canada see this. And throughout the evening we talked
to different people. Well, it seems like everybody there was
from different places. The person the guy in standing standing
in front of us was from Alaska. The woman next
to me was from Fort Collins, Colorado, and we talked
to one other person was from the LA area. But
(06:17):
it seems like everybody traveled to go see this, and
they'd already seen the Nashville show, which was the first
one on this tour. They went from Nashville to LA
so it's like people are traveling to see every single
one of these shows and there's a lot of them.
So that was kind of shocking. I mean, we took
a twenty five minute drive to get there. So we
(06:42):
get in there, people are already forming at the front
of the stage. So that's another thing for us those
folks to do is find the shirt people because all
the tall people were in the front middle and I
think that's where Jason's wife was. I think she's really
tall because her she was. They had some heels on
because she was taller than me, so she was so
(07:05):
yeah with with heels. She was the tallest person, maybe
end feet from me. Front center. I was on Jasu's side,
so we went to the side. All the short people
are there. Sylvia, my wife is five two five three,
so we got a perfect spot. Yeah, but we were
probably eight feet from the stage and we got we
(07:27):
didn't have to stay there for eight hours, so that
that was kind of nice. So oh, the other thing
I was, I was wearing a Jellyfish shirt and people
were just pointing at my shirt and say, oh, oh
my god, Jellyfish. I got that all the time. So
it's like, okay, well there's the shirt. There's some high
(07:47):
people out there. I mean, if you don't know about Jellyfish,
you just don't know because they're awesome.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
And uh so we got our spot for American High Five.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I can honestly tell you, I think I know two
American High five songs and they sound like like Blink
one eighty two, Bowling for Soup kind of lead vocals,
kind of that power pop punk rock type thing, you know,
kind of a whiny lead vocals.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah, there's a lot. Yeah, there are a lot of
those bands back in the early nineties.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yeah, that they sounded a lot like but I can
say with the American High five, their songs are really good.
The band is really tight. The lead singer he kind
of plays.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I wouldn't call it tight. It's just kind of like
he's playing along this kind of like a punk rock
type thing where it's not he's not obviously a shredder,
but you know, he's just kind of strumming along and
singing the songs.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
I enjoyed them, but when I go out and see
them again, not really. They were good for what they
own and I know butch Walker has produced one of
their records, so they were decent. I can't complain. They
didn't stink at all I was there for.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
They're a lot like, very similar to Marvelous Three, so
I just know was a surprise. Why why they opened it.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah, they're in the same wheelhouse, same influences. I get
it entertaining good for sure. They didn't stink. That's a positive.
So wait around for about twenty minutes Marvelous Three comes out.
I've been waiting to see these guys for a long
time and I was not disappointed at all. Pardon my French,
(09:47):
but they were fucking great, so good. The band is tight,
they sing along, no recording, background vocals whatsoever. I mean,
Danny and I have both seen seen Butch Walker live
and he's great, but the Marvelous three just takes up
(10:08):
another notch for me. Awesome they played. They have four records,
they played songs off of all four. I only think
they played one off the first record, and we'll get
into what songs they played with Danny because Danny, I think,
is a little more of a fan than I am.
I was. I'm more of a fan of a third record.
(10:29):
And they played my favorite song, which is Grant Park
in Radio Tokyo. Those are probably my favorite. And in
the past I've said I don't like cigarette with cigarette
Lover Cigarette later love song, Danny, I was wrong.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
I'm seen the Light.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
That song is great and live it's great.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Yeah, I've seen Butch do it pretty much every show
but I've ever seen I've probably seen him maybe ten times,
and usually he just sings the whole song at the piano.
But with the band, he started off with the piano
like the song does, and then it kicks in with
guitars and that's what they did this.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Time, and it was awesome, so good I put this
in my top ten shows. I know the Marvels three
is not going to play for probably a few years,
but when they do come back, I'm going I'll travel
to go see them. They're that good.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Musicianship is top notch.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Everything fall high in the energy level for a bunch
of guys in their fifties, they were sweating their balls
off and entertaining as all hell. And the thing with
this band, everybody travels to see them. The crowd knew
all the damn songs.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
They sang them all, absolutely, every every word. He could
have stopped singing every song and the crowd was singing.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
And know there's a couple of times when he did
and the crowd just picked up with them. I mean,
you don't see that from a band that at this level.
Though they were never big, they were pretty much a
one hit wonder and their one hit, which is a
song I like, but I think they've got like ten
other songs that are even better than that. And in
terms of the set list, I think Danny probably got
(12:19):
more songs and I think I don't know if they
played they didn't I Know Where You Are? They played
always something there to remind me to cover. We didn't
get that. We only got their cover I Melt with You,
which was good, and that was the only That was
the only song that my wife knew on the entire set.
(12:39):
But she had she had a great time. I mean
the energy level. And she has seen butch Walker before.
She saw them with me at the hotel cafe before
they expanded it, because initially when they had it, it's
literally a hallway with a stage. It's that tiny. But
now they've made it a little bigger. And when I
saw them, we were at a table five feet from
(13:00):
him and with about twenty people. That was right when
his second album was about to come out with the
mixtape song, and they passed out cassettes with mixed the
mixtape single on it. Nobody knew who he was. I
knew who he was, so he was and he was
great then and I can say twenty years later he's
still great now. The Marvels three should have been huge,
(13:23):
just like Jelly Jellyfish. I don't they got screwed over
by the record company. Uh it's a sad story. But
luckily they've touched a lot of people and they were
just fantastic.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Can't complain. So show ends. As I'm walking, guy grabs
my shirt because he wanted.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
To talk to me, Like, who's this guy. He's like,
oh my god, Jellyfish. Jellyfish is awesome, my favorite band
of all time.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
And I look at the.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Guy and I recognize him.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
It's Chad from Faster Pussycat.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Here's the here's their he's their drummer. So he glabbed
me and stopped me telling me how much Jellyfish fans like,
oh my god, okay, and I said, they said, Chad,
I wish they'd come back, and he gave me a look.
I'm like, I know they're not coming back, but sure
would be great if they come back, goes yeah, absolutely,
and I said, hey, I love your band too. I
was like, oh, thank you. Is like I recognized him,
(14:17):
so he's like got a big kick out of it.
In fact, the last time I saw him, he's really
good and Faster pussy Cat because he's one of those
drummers who also sings the background vocals. And last time
I saw Enough's enough he came out in stage and
sang flying Hi Michelle with him. So the guy's a
singing drummer. Obviously he has great taste of music. He's
(14:38):
there for the Marveless Three and he's a Jellyfish fan.
So a big shout out that Chad from Faster pussy
Cat Nice And on a positive note, we've got to
our car without getting mugged and we went home. So
that's my Marvelous three story from La.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Let's fast forward to Delaware.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
And how would you experience with them Marveless three.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
So a few weeks ago, or maybe a month or
so ago, my brother said, Hey, I want to talk
to you about something. I've got a free companion pass
on Southwest and I've got a couple of nights in
a in a Marriott. Why don't you pick a place
or pick a band that's touring and we'll go see
them somewhere.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
So that gave me a project for the rest of
the afternoon, and I looked Extreme was playing in in St. Louis.
There are a couple of cool bands that might have
been playing up in Chicago. Thought that that'd be cool,
(15:45):
but then I saw Marvelous Threes playing in Atlanta, So
that's it. I've seen Extreme a few times they're probably
gonna have another album out. I'll go see them. I
don't think there will be a problem. I'm seeing extreme
in the future, right. Don't think we'll see Marvelous three.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Again because we don't know when they're coming back.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, I don't. I don't see them touring again. To me,
I think they're kind of done. Maybe they'll come back
in three two three years or something and do a
little mini tour again. But this was kind of a
one off thing for me, I think. So we booked it.
We stayed at hotel two blocks from the venue, which
(16:28):
was the circ what was it called the Center Stage
in Midtown Atlanta. Pretty cool place at You walk in
and it's round and it has just a flat floor.
But then they're seating all around, and so I thought, well,
let's just let's sit Yeah, because we're old, so I thought,
(16:52):
I don't. I don't need to be right up there
in the front. I've been up at the front with
a pot show. I've been right beside him during the
the campfire apart. If you don't know what the campfire
part is, you definitely have never been to a Butcher
walk for concert because he comes out at the end
of the show, he comes out and does a song
or right in the middle of the crowd. He jumps
(17:13):
down off stage. He doesn't have a guitar or anything,
just a microphone.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
He does a.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
Campfire thing where you know, you get down and he
gets quiet, and then he tells everybody, all right, when
we're done, everybody just go crazy, dance like nobody's watching.
Dance like you're a white person. I want to see
the whitest white dance out there. So he did that.
He did that during the There's Always Something That Never
(17:40):
Reminded Me, which was the last song. I thought maybe
in Atlanta he would do something, you know, do something special.
It's his hometown. Jason's wife. I saw him bringing out
Jason's mom and Butcher's mom and sat them just about
fifteen feet from us, so they were over on the
(18:00):
side a little bit. But anyway, the show itself freaking amazing.
ASA's son, he was like twenty, played guitar in Marvelous
three or he was on this tour, and the guy's great.
I mean, he sounds he sounds perfect in the band.
There were times when Butch didn't play guitar and just
(18:22):
sang yeah, yeah, absolutely but his band, Jase's son's band,
Holding Finch. He has a band called Major, So they
played beforehand. They were six piece. They had a keyboard player, girl, keyboard, bass, drums, guitar,
(18:44):
another guitar, and a steel guitar. I don't really know
what that was about. But you know, I didn't know
any of the songs. They just kind of stood there.
They weren't very active played the songs. I was like, okay, well.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
What kind of music is it?
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Know how they got the gig, but is it power popper?
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Is it alternative? What is it?
Speaker 3 (19:06):
It's more more alternative, I think. You know, all the
people in band were probably twenty or twenty one years old,
so it was you know, today's count of music. I guess.
So they've got done. And then Marvel Steth came on
and just killed it every every song, you know, like
you said they did. They did one song from Maps
(19:32):
and Other Problems. They did like three songs from their
newest album that came out last year. I wish they
played more from Reading Sex Go, but they only played five,
and then they played eight songs from the Hay album,
which is your favorite. I'm more a fan of Reading
Sex Go but you're all great. So if you're not,
(19:58):
if you haven't heard Marvel's three, go definitely check them out.
Total power pop. I don't really know how to how
to describe who they would be like, but they're just
Marvelous three or so.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Yeah. If you like catchy tunes with great background, vocals,
good guitar work, just solid songwriting.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
Great.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Yeah, so that was I have no problem at all
with the songs they played. I wish they had played
Supernatural Blonde. They did play Sugar Buzz, which I like
a lot. They played Freak of the Week, which was
kind of a big hit back in the nineties. I
(20:40):
really didn't need Melt with You. I don't know what
what the point was. I guess maybe it was something
they wanted to put out for this tour. It was okay,
I mean, it was Melt with You. It wasn't real
anything special, but it was. It was cool. So yeah,
just such a great concert. I have no regrets of
(21:01):
making that. The trip that my brother not did.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
I mean the people who can do that where they
can just travel around the country and go see shows. Oh,
I mean a lot. I met it. I ran to
a lot of people who did that at that show.
I want to get to that point sometime where me
and the wife can just say, Okay, let's go here,
let's go there. Yeah, so as I retire about do that,
just go pick a city and go.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
We got there about half hour before the doors, and
we wanted to make sure we could get a seat,
and that wasn't going to be a problem. But I
didn't really care about going up to the front. So
there were probably about one hundred people in front of
us when we got there, and I didn't bother talking
to other people. You're more into that than I am.
(21:48):
I'm just like, hey, fuck off.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
I think so. I think you're way more social. Well,
if you about your wife, she would have talked to
everybody in line. I just was so excited. I talked
to whoever is there.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Yeah, there was one guy with a Crazy Lit shirt
on that you said probably was at the show, at
the Crazy Licks show, like the day or two days
before that.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Yeah, because they they played two days after. It's because
they played Marvelous Three played two nights in LA and
then the next night was it the Tuesday, and that's
where Crazy Licks played. Now, I was supposed to go
see Crazy Licks, and I really wanted to. But when
I saw that they were getting on at ten forty five,
(22:32):
was they going to hit the stage on a walk night?
I was like, now that means they're going to get
off around get off around twelve fifteen and I get home.
Now I'll pass.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
If you go, Yeah, if you go to YouTube, there's
a guy who posts uh it's called Concerts Rock, and
every show that we've talked about so far he is
posted most of the sets. So if you want to
see what we're talking about, go to Concerts Rock on YouTube.
LA shows there, the uh Atlanta shows there, Nashville's there,
(23:05):
and the Crazy Licks shows there. And I'm kind of
glad I didn't go the Crazy Licks because those did
sound good. What they piped in their background vocals. That's
that's a killer for me. Yep, yeah, it was. It
was obvious. It's like, come on, guys. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
The one time I noticed it was so obvious was
when I saw Slaughter back in the day, like a
long time ago, at the it was a little tiny
club in d C or Georgetown, and you know, Dana drums,
they're singing, but it's like a whole chorus find I'm like, come.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
On, yeah, it's down. Dana's drums sound like twenty people.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Yeah, man, he's singing three part harmony just by himself.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Band stopped doing that. If you want four vocals, grab
another guy. When you go see Toto, they have these
extra people on stage they're singing.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
Also, it sounds better when I saw Elu when those
claverses came out.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
They was about twelve people singing. It sounded great. Stop it.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
So you don't want to see a bunch of old
guys trying to dance around to a tape.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Now it sucks. And when you see def Leppard they're
all singing. Does it sound exactly like the albums? No,
but at least they're singing.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
So yeah, I'll listen to the album on the way home.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Yeah, so I'm kind of.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
Good after concerts. I really don't want to hear any
more music.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Yeah, listen to sports talk, somebody complaining about your local
room teams sucking and fire the spire of the coach
and that the good stuff exactly one limit fire that
I think. Yeah, anyway, so I'm miss So.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
That was our our take on the marvelous three shows.
I would say go see him if you if they're
near you, but you're probably not gonna have a chance.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
So I guess your next bet is of Butch Walker tours.
I'm I'm gonna guess he's gonna put out another album,
and if he tours in your area, go see him.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
He's great and absolutely great.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
I mean, if you can't go see Marbin's three, the
next best thing would be.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
But on that note, let's take a little break and
then we're gonna give you two more shows. We went
to be back in one minute. All right, we're back
with the Hard Rocking Trivia Show. This is episode number
two ninety and uh so we've already reviewed the Marvelus
three and now we'll go to the next show. On Thursday.
(25:46):
I think it was October. I think it was October second.
I think yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
I saw at the Canyon Club in the Gordon Hills.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
It was Michael Schenker doing his UF fifty year anniversary
and with the opening band was Armored Saint.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
That's so cool.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
I have not seen Armored Saint in over forty years.
Last time I saw Armored Saying it was before their
first album came out and John Bush had hair. I
think he was probably I think he was nineteen years old,
and that was the original band because I saw the
original guitar player, but I think he passed away in
the early nineties. I think it had leukemia and they
(26:30):
replaced him. But it's still that the four original members
plus one other guy. And I thought this was kind
of an odd pair thing because Armored Saying is much
heavier than Michael Schenker and UFO. I mean, it's not
even close. So we show up for this place, and
first thing is we noticed at the Canyon Club, I
(26:55):
think the Canyon Club holdspot eight hundred to one thousand.
We could not find parking where nothing.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
We had a park We had a buck on the
street and walk.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
About about a quarter mile to the venue. It was packed.
And once we got there, and I've never seen a
line for the Canyon Club, and again there was another
line about seventy five yards long to get in. You've
gotta be kidding me. And the Candy Club is one
(27:25):
of these places where they have tables and chairs, so
if you order dinner, you get a table. Obviously it's
a little more expensive, and they let those people in first.
And if you buy general admission, you're standing, you stand
behind the tables and watch the show. But most of
the time the places are pretty empty. I've seen a
(27:45):
lot of great bands. Well, I just find out when
the headliner's coming on. I walk in and I'm standing
like twenty feet from the stage. No, this place, the
whole thread was full of tables, and then they had
a little small behind the tables where he got to stand. Like,
oh good God, I can't believe this. So we get
in there and you know, we're standing towards the back
(28:09):
of the tables and we're standing uh stage stage right.
We're probably about twenty yards back. So still it's not
a we're still we can see just fine, but we're
standing and it's one of bad people. And there's still
people outside still trying to get in because I guess
(28:30):
all the people got the tables. They can get there early.
They have to wait to find the tables, and they
if the fire marshal would have showed up to this
place on the right place is a Thursday night, this
place would have got shut down, way over sold, which
I was again shocked. This is Michael Schenker and Michael
Shanker was playing like two days later at the Saban Theater,
(28:52):
which holds about fifteen hundred. I mean that's a legit
theater where you buy the seats. Here, we're in a
small club. It was back so Armored Saint comes out
exactly what you'd think. Heavy is All get Out still
sound great. But honestly, I really only know about four
(29:16):
songs from Saint.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
It was never a big Armored Saint fan. But John
Bush sounded great, The band sounded great.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
People were more into the two songs that got the
biggest bands.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
The crowd reaction was the opening.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Which was much of the Saint and I think, what
do you think that the next song that got the
biggest reaction would be can You Deliver? Which was a
video that's the first time we all saw. Hey, this
was Armored Saint.
Speaker 7 (29:43):
Looks like I love that song. Yeah, Heavy is all
good out? Yeah, best song of the set. And I
think they finished with Delirious Nomad. So they pretty much
they played I think, two newer songs and pretty much
stuck with the stuff that came out in the eighties.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Good set. People liked them, but I don't think they
loved him. There was early fog. He's pretty earlier than me.
There for Shanker, and I never thought Shanker and UFO
was that big, but.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
They were huge in Europe.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah, well Europe.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
I mean I think I compare like how big UFO
was in the States, kind of like the Thin Lizzy.
We knew him and they did tour here. But were
they monstrous in the States really? I mean there's certain
pockets of the States that they did really well. I
would say La Chicago. But when we were in Washington,
(30:46):
d C. Did you ever hear UFO on DC one
to one?
Speaker 3 (30:50):
I don't remember ever hearing them. I you know, I
think I would have been a fan if I had
heard them, because I liked them a lot.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Now, yeah, me too. I mean, I there are two
stations that were they're still around. I think DC one
O one was the rock station and Baltimore had ninety
eight Rock. And I never heard ufon and either one
of those.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
And this was.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Only from eighty to eighty three, even though they had
bigger late seventies. You'd think you would have heard like rock,
what I'm a Doctor, Doctor or some of the bigger
UFO songs, But I never heard them. So I was
never a fan back then. I mean, I knew who
they were, but we were more. We were more kiss
(31:35):
priests everything, Al Smith, Acy, especially ac DC and Rush.
I remember being huge back then.
Speaker 6 (31:43):
So you remember the neighbor that lived across the street
from you that we never really saw. I remember he
was into Rush, and I was always like, Wow, that
guy's so cool. He's into Rush, you.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Know, because I was, you know, back then, I was
not a huge fan of Rush at all. Now I'm
really hoping I can get take us to this this
different that they're doing with the girl drummer.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Shout out to Jeff Leister. That's who he was, because
I knew him. I knew him in Germany. We moved
from Germany Springfield, Virginia, and I lost track with him.
I think he lives in Oregon. Maybe, I don't know,
lost track of him years ago. Yeah, he was a
big Rush fan. He was into the first Black Sabbath album.
Kind of a stoner kid. I mean, I liked him,
(32:29):
I knew him, but you know, we kind of lost touch.
But yeah, I mean I saw the Rush moving pictures.
That's that's the last time I saw Rush live.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
I've seen him probably six or seven times, but it's
all been recent well, I mean since mid nineties, I guess.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
And breaking news rush or back.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
I think yeah, and they I think they're playing four
nights now in LA. But tickets are expensive. The cheapy
tickets are three hundred, so god, yes, I'm not doing that. Yeah,
people are freaking out about how expensive they are because
they're gonna set out. I mean, they didn't say they
didn't tour anymore. They really did. They didn't. They did
(33:17):
a goodbye tour, but they never said it was a
goodbye tour. So they're gonna bring out, you know, we
got a couple other musicians with them. They've already announced
the Dreamers, his female drummer who was who played with
Jeff Beck and she is really good. And Getty says
that they're gonna also find a keyboard player so he
(33:37):
can play all bass. So maybe four, maybe another person,
just one of those jack of all trades players like
Toto does, where the guy can play guitar, the guy
can play keyboards or set whatever, so there might be
five people on stage, just something I guess, to do
something a little bit different than the normal three piece
stuff where Getty does all stuff at once.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
So well, I mean they can do whatever they want.
Rush Yeah them, Yeah, and a lot.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
And you know what, I would go see him, but
I'm not paying three hundred I'll just I guess I'll
wait for the videos.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
I've seen him so many times that you know, I'd
love to go see him again, but I'm not paying
three hundred bucks to see him.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Now. RUSH Management wants to donate a couple of tickets
to the Hard Rocking Tributa show. We'll be happy to
take that off your hands, guys. Just just put that.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
And we will. We will have devote one whole show
to that. Nothing but that.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Correct And if you if you need us to cheer
for the Toronto Blue Jays to make the WOLD season,
win it for RUSH tickets. Okay, Yep, we're easy.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
We're not cheap, but we're easy.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
Yeah we are.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
But getting back to Michael, Getting back to Michael Schenker,
I didn't really know the guys in the band. In fact,
the lead singer, I still don't know his name. I
know he's European. It wasn't air grown band because uh,
with his he had leukemia, so he's still going under treatments,
so his health. He stays in Europe's so he's not
(35:14):
even though he sings on the on this album Michael
Schenker UFO, I wouldn't was it covers album really, but
he has different lead singers. I know, Axe Orose sings
Love to Live and Eric Jet's got so those sings.
So the band they had was really good, and uh,
(35:35):
those UFO songs really do translate well live. I mean,
it's a it's pretty much a greatest if you're a
UFO fan, it's a greatest hit set and it's all
stuff that Michael Shanker played with UFO. So yeah, it's
pretty much seventies UFO.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
Every hit.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Was totally into him. They were great, and I said,
I was standing in the line. But from we got
in the show, we started talking to different people and
my friend Greg, who's the other Toto freak, the other
one I know besides you. So he went with me.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Like it's an affliction or something.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
It's not an affliction.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
It's just like, what are they want?
Speaker 2 (36:26):
I mean, I know totally played the arenas, but I mean,
I know these people are these different connections, and I
haven't met too many of Toto freaks and I met
two in my life, and the you two guys.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
So we're talking to people a line.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Greg's talking this guy in line and the guy says
Greg's name, he goes Greg. Greg didn't recognize him with
some guy who played basketball with years ago, and this
guy had had bought a table. But they split us
up that all the people went to general mission, went
to one line and all the people had a table
and another line.
Speaker 8 (36:56):
So we're standing behind this table and gets where I
at the table. We were standing behind the guy who're
talking to in line. So they come in, sit down
at the table and sit down to the table.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
So we got to sit during Michael Shanklin all the time,
so just trying to work down. So it was kind
of nice guy.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
So everybody was.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
At a table with my friend Greg knew and didn't
know they were going to the show, which happened to
bump into him, and it happened that they had the
table that we were standing behind, so that worked out.
Michael seemed Michael seemed very happy that he's been selling
out this whole tour. But it was freaking great. It
(37:37):
didn't stink whatsoever. So if he does this again, he
got a chance and like, go see Michael Shanker because
the guy can really play.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
I didn't need I.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Don't syndrome a shredder. But I'm gonna guess it's the
myfs that he writes that people really resonate with him.
He's not Eddie van Hale, and he's not Jimi Hendrix,
it's not even Steve.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
He's a riff master man. Like the Rift to rock
Bottom is so cool.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Oh, that song was so good live. Oh, and I
forgot to mention lights out. Guess who walks out during
lights out? Jeff got so because Jeff gott Soda is
right down the street and he sang on that album.
He sings that song on the album that Michael Schenker
(38:30):
put out. So Jeff came out and people went bananas
went down like a storm. It was great. I mean
I seem bumping the Jeff's got so all the time.
I don't even know the guy, But.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
For those who don't know, I went in the spring,
I went out to California visit Mark. And part of
the reason I went out there was because the Clips
was playing their only US show at the Whiskey of
Go Go. So we went to that show and who
comes out Jeff Scott sohow because he's in the band
(39:04):
Wet with the Eric Martinson, the lead singer of Eclipse,
so it's kind of a whole thing.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
But he's a man of the people. Yep. If you
if you don't know, I'm sure you've heard him sing.
He sings on everything. It's one of those guys didn't
quite get the notoriety, but people who know who is
fantastic singer. So uh so far both shows that I
went to double double thumbs up. Nothing sucks. So now
(39:36):
we're gonna go back to the East coast and Danny
went to see Buck Cherry and Nashville Pussy. So take
it away that you see.
Speaker 3 (39:47):
So this was last night. Actually this was what was
on October tenth, no October twelfth, last night at the
Keswick Theater at Glenside, Pennsylvania. It's kind of a north
sumbur of a Philly. That's where Mark and I saw
Mammoth when they when Mark came out to visit me.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Yeah. Yeah, nice old timey theater. We don't like that venue.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Yeah, that's cool place. I asked the one of the
ushers as we were leaving, I asked how many people
it holds?
Speaker 2 (40:22):
It old?
Speaker 3 (40:22):
Thirteen hundred I thought, okay, that's cool. So we get
there and there's an opening opening band called Drew Drew
Cagle and the Reputation, and they were cool. I mean,
they were good. I've never heard of him before, you know,
never heard of them, never heard them, you know, just
(40:42):
a standard rock band. The drummer was pretty much a
clone of uh, Tommy Lee, you know, had long, really
dark black hair, looked kind of like Nikki six but
playing drums.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
Okay, well, anyway, he was.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
He was pretty entertaining. And they played, you know, just
some rock songs they knew. And then they they played
one cover song, Guns n' Roses cover song.
Speaker 4 (41:11):
Are they just a local band or do they have
a record deal?
Speaker 3 (41:13):
I think so.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
I've tried to look them up and couldn't find anything
about them. So they were all right, you know, entertaining.
Uh then came out Nashville Pussy, which I didn't know
anything about. I've never heard any of their songs. I
looked up one of their videos earlier that day, earlier
(41:36):
yesterday morning, and the song I'm sitting there listening on
my phone with the speaker on him. The song I
play is go motherfucker, go and David, you're going to
see that tonight, Like, yep, I don't know what you'd
expect with a band called Nashville Pussy.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
But yeah, they're a little.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
Yeah yeah, but they were very entertaining. I thought, you know, okay,
that's cool. Two girls, two guys. They're lead guitarist and
the bass player. Girls thought it was pretty cool. They
played very well. They were tight, but you know, all
the songs are kind of uh, they're not gonna win
(42:20):
any vocal or lyrical competitions.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Yeah, kind of kind of sleeze rock, I would call them.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
Yeah, yeah, pretty much sleeves, Southern sleeves. I guess, yeah,
if you want, if you really need to know. But yeah,
they were entertaining.
Speaker 4 (42:38):
Kind of makes sense.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
I mean they're kind of like Cherry a little bit
because Chair kind of fits into that too. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
Yeah, I mean Buck Cherry had a whole album where
the fuck was in the title of every song. Yep, okay,
all right, well that's good. So they played and then
Buck Cherry came on. So the placeholds about thirteen of people.
I would say it maybe had two fifty three hundred
if I was you know, if I squinted real, real tight,
(43:07):
but not a lot of people at all, and we
were right in the middle, about twelve twelve or so
rows back and when Butcherry came on, they started with
lit Up, which was a great song, one of the
few Butchery songs I do know, great song. But everybody
around us stood up, and by the third song, I
(43:30):
figured everybody's just to stand up this whole damn show.
So we moved back back to the back section and
sat and it was perfect, you know, we didn't have
to stand up and try to look around some guy's
head in front of us, and so it was great.
But one other complaint, and this is probably an old
(43:51):
guy thing. They had these these amp stacks and on
the bottom was the actual was the actual cabinet where
the speaker are on the upper part. They look like speakers,
but they actually were lights. And they had those damn
lights on the entire set and they were like like
(44:11):
led lights.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
They're really bright.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
Yeah, so there's the lights are shining at us. We
can see basically the Batlet band like, come on, dude,
what the what the hell is this about? You know, Okay,
I see it's it's a cool look, you know, Okay,
second song, you can turn them off, but no, whole
damn show, those lights are on. So it was kind
of that was annoying. But the band themselves, they were tight,
(44:39):
really tighty. Really the drummer's very entertaining. He's a great drummer.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
I think the singer was having some issues with his
voice because he would sing and then he'd kind of
cough off to the side and sing some more off
off to the side again. But I really got an
appreciation for more songs. Other songs they played that I
had never heard before that, but I really liked, like
come On Gluttony. There was one other song that he
(45:08):
called a driving song. I can't remember what that was.
Call some really cool songs that I liked a lot.
And then of course they they finished with Crazy Bitch,
but it kind of turned into a whole medley. They
played like five different songs, cover songs, just little snippets
in within the.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
Yeah, I think they did that with me too.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
I can't remember which songs they were.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Yeah, from what I saw, they changed them every set
or every show because they were like they did a
little snip in the MacArthur Park, you know, left to
Kat down the rain.
Speaker 4 (45:46):
Really that's funny.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
Yeah, yeah, that's hilarious. So yeah, they're a great show.
I wish I knew more about buck Cherry, but you know,
it is what it is, and I would say, can
say i've seen them.
Speaker 2 (45:58):
Yeah, they're sleeves a C d C Esque. The fifteen
album is the one that really when they they seem
to rely on more than so. Most of the songs
are on the fifteen album. My favorite song from them
is off the second album is called Slit Your Wrists.
So that's why I didn't now I don't they They
(46:20):
didn't play that when I saw them too. Do they
do that thing where they introduced the band and they
kind of do like a routine where they dance around,
which I thought was kind of funny when they did that, did.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
You like a dance slide slide?
Speaker 2 (46:37):
It's like this is the first. I don't think I've
ever seen a hard rock band do this before. Like
this is interesting.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Yeah, so I don't care.
Speaker 2 (46:44):
Yeah, it's one of those bands that tourist like all
the time. So they're not huge, but you know, people
like them. And Crazy Bitch is not even not even
my favorite song by them by far, but it's okay.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Yeah, I like it, you know.
Speaker 2 (47:00):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (47:01):
I think probably my favorite song they did was Gluttony.
Speaker 4 (47:05):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (47:05):
I like it, I like it.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
Yeah, I want it.
Speaker 3 (47:07):
I want it, I want it. I love it. I
love it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (47:11):
Do you have a lot of cherry albums?
Speaker 2 (47:14):
Because I yeah, I think I've sent you a lot.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
If you don't, I can send.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
Them your way.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
Because we'll take a look, you know, because we, Danny
and I do that.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
Yeah, we send the albums. I send the albums that
I never really get to listen to Danny and he
might listen to them.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
So I've got I think I have eight now that
I need to download, and I will probably listen to
one or two of them.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
Yeah. One of them is that uh Sammy Hagar residency,
which was phenomenal. That show was so great and he's
doing it again. So maybe that could be a future trip.
Fly to Vegas and go see Sammy Hagar. That'd be good.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
I have some I have some friends that live in
Newport News, but they all so.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
That would be a good time to do it.
Speaker 4 (48:04):
Vegas is only us.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
I want to see the Wizard of Oz and the Sphere.
Speaker 2 (48:09):
I just want. I just talked to somebody who went
to see that, and they said it was amazing because
every there's there's that that I've never been in the
Sphere yet, but I know that if there's a speaker
in like every panel, all on the roof, everywhere, completely surrounded. Yeah,
(48:31):
And they said when they're watching The Wizard of Oz
and when the the you know, the tornado comes, they're
blowing wind in the and then leaves and over the place,
So you're getting that whole sense around type thing. So
I mean, if you I don't know how much it is,
it's probably over the bucks to go see The Wizard
of Oz, but just to go see the Sphere seems
(48:52):
like could be kind of a cool experience.
Speaker 4 (48:54):
So absolutely, maybe that's a future trip. Because for me,
Vegas is about a thirty five minute flight.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
It's a drive, so we're four and a half hour
flight for me, so maybe in the future.
Speaker 3 (49:11):
Anyway, we're getting to the end of the show and
you know, they're finishing the last song, and I know
it's the last song because I've seen of course it's
crazy bench and so we go out and we're walking
back to the car and walking to the car it
takes us right by the tour bus, and right as
we're walking by, the singer comes out, unlocks the bus
(49:32):
and gets in. Josh, he booked it off stage. He
had to because we we were leaving while they were
still like doing their bows and all that stuff, and
so it was maybe two minutes from when we were
when we were walking out to when he was on
the bus.
Speaker 4 (49:52):
Mhm.
Speaker 2 (49:54):
Well, they're a high energy been and maybe just wanted
to get into the bus and just chill after a while.
Maybe didn't want to see anybody who was tired. The
sad thing about that tour it was supposed to be
Michael Monroe and Buck Cherry headlining the States, and one
of the reasons I told Danny earlier is that maybe
the place wasn't as full as it should have been
(50:14):
because it was supposed to be a co headline thing
and I was gonna go see it for Michael Monroe
because I'd seen Buck Cherry before and Danny was going
to do see the same thing. But unfortunately Michael Monroe
I think, had a meniscus surgery and couldn't do it,
which was a major bummer. So that's probably hurt ticket sales.
Speaker 3 (50:32):
Huge different in my mind between Michael Monroe and Nashville Pussy.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
Well, yeah, the drag difference. I mean, most people have
never seen Michael Monroe and had only Rocks. Over the
past twenty thirty forty years, it has gotten bigger because
of Michael Monroe's legendary and I've never seen Michael ring.
I've had opportunities, but every time. Twice now, I was
(51:02):
supposed to see Hanoi Rocks and then Rastle died, so
I missed out on that. And in this last tour
he gets an injury and they had to cancel out.
So I've maybe next time.
Speaker 4 (51:12):
But the guy can do the splits and he's like
sixty five.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
It's ridiculous. What the hell is that all about? I
do this splits them going to the hospital?
Speaker 3 (51:22):
Yeah, yeah, I watched somebody doing like ooh that hurts.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
I can't do it. Not gonna do it? Yees. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (51:32):
So I don't have too many more shoows to come
up that I'm going to see. I'm going to see
Patton Houselo on Friday though.
Speaker 2 (51:41):
He's a funny guy.
Speaker 3 (51:43):
Yeah, totally bands I'm going to see in the next
couple months or so. I go to see Ildevo. You
know who they are?
Speaker 2 (51:55):
Is that thating like the three guys who sing Opera?
Speaker 3 (51:59):
It's no, oh, that's the three tenors. But Ildevo is close.
It's a four piece or four guys for singers.
Speaker 2 (52:08):
So this isn't the Simon Collen Yeah, exactly, Okay.
Speaker 3 (52:14):
And then I'm going to see a band called Get
the Lead Out, which is of course a led Zeppelin tribute.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
Are you looking these shows?
Speaker 3 (52:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (52:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
And then I'm working for Leslie Jones. I think you
know who she is, right.
Speaker 4 (52:28):
It's an actress, isn't she.
Speaker 3 (52:31):
She's she's on Saturday Night Live.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
Oh so she does stand up.
Speaker 3 (52:36):
Yeah, yeah, she's really funny, I think.
Speaker 2 (52:39):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (52:39):
In the city, I got Jake Shima Bakuru coming up.
He's that ukulebe.
Speaker 2 (52:44):
Player you said he was great.
Speaker 3 (52:48):
Yeah, he's phenomenal. And then I got a rain that
it's a Beatles tribute that's they're doing like a Christmas
show coming up.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
So yeah, I've heard, I've heard it.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
I found out this week that Kansas is playing at
the ground.
Speaker 4 (53:05):
That's cool. Not too I've seen too many not.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
Too many original members left, but you still got some
of them I think there's at least two guys left. Yeah,
but I haven't seen Kansas in years. I've only seen
them once. Very very progressive.
Speaker 4 (53:29):
Yeah, musicianship in that band is ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (53:33):
Absolutely, you should like that. I feel like Russia like Kansas,
even though Kansas doesn't get the respect that they really deserve.
Great players.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
Yeah, their song for America is one of the best
songs ever. You have to listen to.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
They play that last.
Speaker 3 (53:52):
But the music, like you said, musicianship is crazy.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
And when you see them, it's majority of their set
will be from the seventies. Yeah, so that's.
Speaker 3 (54:03):
Kind of would think it would be more like the
Greatest Hits type tour.
Speaker 2 (54:07):
Okay, just like the fiftieth anniversary tour. That should be cool.
They need to get Steve back, that would be great.
Speaker 3 (54:15):
Yeah, but somehow I doubt that's gonna No.
Speaker 2 (54:19):
I don't think so either. Yeah. I think the only
thing I got coming up is a Heart and Todd
Rundering in November, which got postponed. It was supposed to
happen in August, but it's happening in November. I think
that's the only thing I got going together. Yeah, Todd
Runnering's opening the heart, which should be cool. That didn't stink.
Speaker 3 (54:41):
Yeah. So every year the Grand has a gala and somebody,
you know, somebody big comes and plays. Last year was
the Commodore's and Dana and Lisa got to talk to
two of the calendars for.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
Like an hour without Lionel RICHI.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Up, No, it was the uh it was the guitar
player and one of the three singers. But it was
a news the guy that the Placeslinel Richie. So it
was the newer guy. But these guys are brothers and
it was their dad that was the original drummer of
the Commodoers, So they talked to him like forever for
a long time during his gallas. Yeah, but that's coming
(55:23):
up in December, and this year it is Bruce Hornsby
never a fan.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
I mean he's probably a great musician, but I was
just never a fan of him. I mean, I go
see him. It was free. Another one song.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
Yeah that's the way it is.
Speaker 4 (55:40):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 2 (55:41):
Maybe he's got another, Maybe he's got another bunch of
great tunes. I just don't know them.
Speaker 4 (55:45):
But yeah, if it's it's free, why.
Speaker 3 (55:48):
Not, Well it's not free. It's free for me. And
then so they had this concert at the Grand, and
then you walk down to the Hotel DuPont, which is
a really fancy hotel can and it's just like every
room is a different kind of buffet. You got seafood,
you have breakfast, you've got a man like a barbecue,
(56:12):
giant works with all with different bands and all with
different food options. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
You have to dress up the whole deal. Yeah, okay, yeah,
I don't think I would get in with my sweats on.
You would not, No, I know.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
No, it's definitely a dress up kind of thing. It's
supposed to be a fundraiser for the Grand.
Speaker 4 (56:36):
Okay, it seems like that place is doing just fine,
isn't it.
Speaker 3 (56:40):
I guess I don't know. They seem to be doing okay.
I mean they have a lot of events.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
They pay your salary.
Speaker 3 (56:46):
So yeah, my salary of zero dollars.
Speaker 4 (56:49):
For free, like what I do here?
Speaker 2 (56:52):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 4 (56:53):
I thought they paid you no, at least like twenty
bucks an hour. Nope, just tips.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
They not even tips go to the Grand.
Speaker 4 (57:07):
So you just do it to get it, watch the show,
whatever show I want.
Speaker 2 (57:11):
I guess that's a good trade off. You get to
see some cool stuff. I'll free. Yeah, that's cool. You
know I clowned you about that Bled tribute called Toast.
Speaker 4 (57:23):
I'm like, that's a joke, isn't it. They're playing out here.
Speaker 2 (57:28):
You gotta be kidding me. I thought that was a joke.
Now Toast is playing in Los Angeles? Who knew?
Speaker 3 (57:36):
I'm telling you, if you're at all a fan of Bread,
they were. They were fantastic.
Speaker 4 (57:44):
I don't think anybody listening to the show knows who
the hell they are.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
Yeah, well, if you were on pop radio in the seventies,
you know who Bread is.
Speaker 4 (57:53):
But those people all dead.
Speaker 3 (57:56):
Sounds exactly like David Gates exactly.
Speaker 2 (58:05):
Okay, it's enough. We've been going at this an hour
with no trivia at all, just lessing and talking about
shows we went to. If you like this, this so
very special special. Now. If you hate this, you can
let us know. But if you liked it, let us
know as well. Have the next episode would be nothing
(58:26):
but hard rock and metal trivia. You promise and we'll
catch you back in about a couple of weeks. I
think I didn't tell my.
Speaker 3 (58:35):
Daughter we were doing this tonight, and she's like, oh,
that's cool. And then she started getting honest about why
why people that you know, our age don't aren't supporting
the newer hard rock bands.
Speaker 2 (58:50):
Well, you know they're good.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
Yeah yeah, And I told her, you know, I'm a
huge as Avenged Sevenfold fame.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
Yeah, I like Dirty Honey they're good.
Speaker 3 (59:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (59:05):
And some of that stuff coming out of Europe, you like,
it's a.
Speaker 3 (59:08):
New bands like Eclips. Yep, you know there's there's a
lot of bands I like.
Speaker 4 (59:14):
But you're brought to back off.
Speaker 2 (59:16):
I know you're listening took off of the old guys
like young bands too. They're just not as good as
the old bands, that's all.
Speaker 3 (59:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:25):
Yeah, and she's a Beatles fan case yeah, yeah, we
just lost a fan terrific.
Speaker 3 (59:40):
Yep, she'll never listen to us again.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Yeah. Great, do you won't even talk to you want
me to take your goals? So so mu's foreseeing the
grandkids again?
Speaker 3 (59:49):
Yeah? Damn it.
Speaker 2 (59:51):
Yeah, Dana posted a picture of your youngest grandchild. What
a cutie pie that girl is?
Speaker 3 (59:58):
Oh yeah, she's heart breaker.
Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
In in making right there.
Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
They are both so beautiful, I will say. Charlotte's been taking.
Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
Guitar lessons, recorded her third song tonight nice.
Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
Yep, she'll be. She'll be on tour tener Swift.
Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
The next tour, Taylor Swift got a new album out.
I had only sold four million the first week.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
Poor girl, what poor kid? Feel bad for her? I
don't know. All right, well, I can't believe we talked
about Taylor Swift. What the hell's wrong with us? We suck, all.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Right, nothing but nothing but hardcore metal.
Speaker 2 (01:00:38):

Speaker 4 (01:01:00):
And on that note, we'll see in a couple of
weeks people
