(00:00):
Philip, this is Jeremy Rutherford from the Athletic. Obviously, there was always the option of an offer sheet,

(00:06):
and I believe you had three of them that could have been presented to you, and they were all going to be
for about the same money. What led you to decide on accepting the Blues offer sheet?
I'm very excited to be blue, and I think Darren may be prepared that this could happen, and

(00:27):
I'm very excited that I'm blue, and I'm looking forward to it.
Philip, is it bad to French from the St. Louis Post dispatch? Can you take us through your
feelings emotionally right now? What are you feeling and what is the last week been like for you?
No, it's been wild. I'm very excited to be blue, and I'm very looking forward to meeting everybody,

(00:56):
and getting to know the staff and everybody and the team mates, and you're just excited.
Were there some anxious moments that come to mind during the week as you waited to find out
whether Edmonton would match or not? Can you take that question again?

(01:22):
Sorry. Just the ups and downs of the week, I guess, not knowing if Edmonton would match your offer
or not. What were your feelings like before the announcement today?
Not much. You've tried to focus on stuff. You can decide on. You can

(01:48):
use focus on working out, getting prepared for the season, and when it came out, that would be
a San Luis Blues. I was very excited, and I'm looking forward to it.
Philip, luquare@nhl.com, was this a little easier process for you to go through knowing that perhaps

(02:09):
going to St. Louis, you may get more of an opportunity to play in the NHL?
I tried to get better every day and in practice, and looking forward to the opportunity in San
Luis, and I'm very excited to come to camp and try to get better every day and help the team.

(02:35):
When you did speak to the Blues, what were some of the things that made you excited about them as an organization?
No, everything I've heard about them are very good and positive, and I'm very excited and happy that
I'm a blue, and I'm looking forward to it and looking forward to getting to know

(03:03):
why the body and the organization.
For you in the playoffs, how did you feel like you performed in what kind of change for you when
you were playing in those days?
Yeah, it was very fun to play and try to help the team, and like I said, try to get better every day,

(03:29):
and I think it took a step there in the playoffs, and I'd like to continue that throughout next year.
The Blues have quite a Swedish influence, including GM and waiting Alexander Steen.
How much are you aware of the Swedes that have played for the Blues and especially of Steen?

(03:49):
Yeah, I'm aware of it, not super much, but I know some of the guys that play there, and
they seem like very good people, and I know they like their time there, so I'm looking forward to
getting to know them better.
Philip, I think fans in St. Louis have heard about your skating and how well you played in the

(04:17):
Stanley Cup playoffs, but what else can you tell fans about your style of play?
What you're seeing is...
Yeah, I see myself as a good skater, and I like to use my skating and my defending,
and to join the rush as well, and like to play with a lot of pace, but

(04:37):
yeah, I like to help the team in any way I can, and I like to use my skating a lot.
Philip, going into this offseason, did you know that there was a strong possibility of you changing teams?

(05:03):
I guess you never know, but I'm very excited and happy that I'm a St. Louis Blue now, and I'm excited
for the opportunity, and I'm looking forward to it.
What can you tell us about Dylan Holloway?
I'm assuming that you guys may have spoken this morning, was there some excitement about

(05:27):
switching teams together?
Yeah, Hall sees a great guy, and I'm known him for a while now, and he's an awesome guy,
a very good player, so I love good things to say about him, and I'm very happy for Dylan too.

(05:57):
Philip, do you wish anything could or would have been different in Edmonton?
Maybe things just had gone differently for you?
No, I'm nothing bad to say about the fans at all, and the fans in Edmonton are great,
and nothing bad to say about teammates or nothing, I'm very happy about my time in Edmonton,

(06:23):
and I'm looking forward for a new chapter in St. Louis.
But the other chance to talk to any of you former teammates from Edmonton, say,
to buy, is that's how they feel about your character.
Sorry, I didn't hear you there.

(06:47):
So, if you had a chance to talk to them, is there any outform of teammates from Edmonton,
are they leaving, like you, like you, like you, like that?
Yeah, I've talked to you, and it's just saying goodbye, and nothing bad,
nothing bad at all is to say goodbye, and I'll see them as somebody day.

(07:15):
Philip, how soon are you going to get to St. Louis and start trying to get to know your new
teammates and the team in general here?
I'm not sure yet. This is pretty new news to me as well, so I don't know, to be honest,
yet, but I'm looking forward to getting to the city and getting to know everybody.

(07:42):
Philip, between Bakersfield and Edmonton last year, where do you feel like your game took strides?
Yeah, I think I took steps in Bakersfield, and I started to play with a lot of confidence,
and I like to believe I brought that in that season and throughout playoffs as well, so

(08:03):
I would like to continue doing that next year as well.
Philip,
Philip, Simon, go ahead.
Good.
I know, this is a small deal of luck from La Price in Montreal. I know you see you're excited

(08:26):
about St. Louis, and you have nothing bad to say against Edmonton, and it makes sense, but
why did you want out of Edmonton? This is really unusual to see a guy your age, except
an athlete in a league as an RFA. What were the reasons behind your decision to leave?
In another day, it's business, and I'm very excited for the opportunity here in St. Louis.

(08:54):
I'm very thankful for the years in Edmonton as well, and for the teammates and coaches that have
there, and I'm looking forward for a new chapter in St. Louis now.
Okay, thanks.
Philip, I just wanted to ask one more. You're leaving a team that played in the Stanley Cup final

(09:20):
last year, and you know, has a chance to win a Stanley Cup soon. But what do you think about
the Blues future? I counted 12 first round picks, including yourself, who are under the age
of 25? Do you kind of like the young foundation that Doug Armstrong and his staff is building
here with looks like it's got a bright future?
For sure. I think this team has some very good young guys, and I would like to stop the team

(09:47):
in any way I can, and I'm looking forward to see what we can do next year.
