Greetings, salutations, what it is? God damn what it is?
Citizens? Thanks for checking out theshow. How were the Helms? Brought
to you by Gregory Sugar Shane HurricaneHelms aka Kid Vicious. It is what
day is it? It is Septemberthe fifteenth, almost halfway through the month

(03:28):
of September, of the year thatwe never want to remember. Twenty twin
twin how's everybody doing? First outof the gate to my comic slam fans,
which is the biggest growing population ofmy show. I'm not doing a
comic Slam this week, so I'mgonna give you a heads up. Don't
tune out, don't tune out.I'll make up for it. But honestly,

(03:51):
I just didn't read anything this week, and I'm not gonna do one
of those shows where I fake readship for you. I'm not going to
pick up by books and rouse themand try to fake it for you.
I just had a lot going on, you know. I had a waiting
to go to this weekend, andthe Impress took the kids out of town

(04:12):
for a couple of days. Shehad to do some stuff with her sister,
and so I had the house alonemost of Thursday, all day Friday
in summer Saturday, had the day, had the house to myself, and
oh my goodness, the peace, the serenity, serenity, now all to

(04:33):
myself. So good, so damngood. Oh I needed that. Boy.
I love my family, y'all knewthis. But that ship is work,
and it's NonStop work, especially withthis online schooling thing. You don't

(04:54):
get a break. You don't geta break. I might have to stop
complaining about this online schooling, butI hate it. I mean, but
I need to stop, you know, I need to embrace it because it
is a useful too. I hateit to death, but I'm just saying
um. But anyway, so yeah, I just kind of chilled. You
know. I barely put on clothes. Listen, y'all, I was butdass

(05:16):
naked the entire day, all right, that's how it is. I'm dressed
now. For those of you listening, I'm dressed now, so don't worry.
I don't need my voice to gofor my lungs to your ear drums
while I'm not closed, all right, you know I'm saying. So I'm
fully dressed now. It's past Friday. Oh no, no, no no.

(05:38):
And I gotta tell you, man, when I lived by myself for
many years, and when I wouldbe on the road like no lie,
and I don't even know what I'mtelling you this, I would literally walk
in my door, put my gearbags down, and strip head to time.
And that's what it's what I did. It was just like, man,

(05:59):
my home was my little bubble andI just created my home like what
I wanted. I didn't decorate myhouse for other people. I don't do
that shit. That's that's be honestwith you, not to be misogynistic,
but that's a woman thing. Womenwill decorate their house for other people to
come over and look at that shit. Men in journal do not. And
men and in terms of specifics, shane him specific does not. I don't

(06:23):
care if people never come up withmy fucking house. My house is for
me, for my comfort, formy interests. That's why my home,
that's what I feel the home is. This ain't a fucking museum. I
don't need you coming in checking outmy art. You know, my ship
is for me. So that's howyou know. That's how I viewed my
home. So I kept I keptthe windows closed. Like my neighbors I

(06:46):
lived in the neighborhood. They wouldn'teven know I was home. They would
just see my garage go up,my garage door go up and down every
now and then they might see me. If they didn't see me come into
the house. They didn't even knowI was that. And I had my
neighbor tell me a couple of timesago, Man, I saw you leave.
I don't even that's the only timeI even though you still lived there.
But on the few days I washome, boy, that was it.

(07:12):
So yeah, I don't even knowwhy I shared that with you,
but there it is. There,it is out in the open. Now
you know, I can't do thatanymore because now you got kids and kids
running around the house. You can'tbe you can't be walking around swaying.
You know what I'm saying, youcan't be doing it. Sh'S weird.
But anyway, I watched a lotof TV, a lot of TV,
a lot of chilling. One thingI wanted to talk about. I caught
up on Stargirl and so I gotbehind I think an episode I missed,

(07:38):
like episode five or something, episodesix, and I got behind. And
just the way, I don't knowif it's an OCD, what the fuck
it is, but if I getbehind one episode on a TV series,
it fucks me up, like Ican't go for it. It has to
stop there until the ship comes outon DBD, which is why it used
to happen to me. But nowwith the streaming services, you know and

(08:00):
can wait a little bit. Becausethe same thing happened with Lovecraft. I
got. I started late on Lovecraft. I watched episode one, and then
my DBR recorded episode four and Iwas gonna and I had to wait like
half a week to get episodes twoand three. So I mean that's what
I did. I'm just couldna watchthat ship. But I got real behind

(08:20):
a Stargirl and Dan. Because there'sso much other great television out there,
I just kind of never went backto it. Well, this week,
I was like, let me goback, check it out. Man.
That was a really strong, strongshow. I really enjoyed it. A
lot of good characters, seeing SolomonGrundy, And I don't know why I've
had a soft spot for Solomon. It's the name. I do know why.

(08:41):
It's the name. Solomon Grundy isa badass name. If your name
is Solomon Grundy, you whooping somebody'sass. And that's why whenever he loses
a fight, like even in Batman, I specifically got hot when Tom King,
Tom King, Tom King, Ilove you, fantastic writer, But
Batman choke slamming, fucking Solomon Grundypissed me off. That ship got me

(09:03):
hot, hot, still to thisday, hot about it. Um.
But he got to see some SolomonGrundy in there. Man. It was
just it was so cool seeing someof these old school characters pop up.
Um. The Stargirl character is avery cool character, you know, And
shout out to Jeff Johns for uh, you know, he used a personal

(09:24):
tragedy too, you know, hepoured a personal tragedy into this story and
so I'm glad to see him,you know, a chief success out of
it. Um, I didn't likethe Doctor Midnight. That's the only that
was the soft spot, because Iliked Doctor Midnight in the books. I
liked the way he was in thebooks. This newer rendition of him,
I didn't like. This is howit is. You don't have to like

(09:48):
every fucking thing Doctor Midnight. Idon't know if you know this, but
he was he kind of had visuallimitations, like he could see better at
night and during the day because likehis eyes were like so fucking sense of
like in the break day he couldn'tsee. So he was like the first
like kind of superhero that had anykind of impairment or some shit like that.
And it was wronging and so it'skind of a Daredevil type situation,

(10:11):
but he predates Daredevil fucking fifteen twentyyears something like that. So yeah,
um, you know so uh.That was the only song, And it
wasn't like the character in the Stargirld. The Stargirld version of Doctor Minight was
awful. It's just it wasn't upto par um with the comic book version.

(10:35):
In my not so humble opinion,I liked our Man. I liked
the wildcat Um and Wildcasts one ofthose characters that in the books it's kind
of cheesy, but when you seeit on, you know, on the
big screen, fighting the clouds, coming out all that kind of shit,
that that was really cool. Um, really good cast man, This was

(10:56):
strong. This was a strong show. And I'm looking forward. I'm looking
ford to see him more of this. Yeah, so cool. Fucking doze
to the DC universe. You know, they're a little weaker in the movies
then marvel Is and everybody likes tomake that comparison, and that's the only
reason I'm even acknowledging it. Butwhen it comes to the TV, their

(11:18):
TV shows a killer, you know, pretty much of all being winners.
You know, if you look atthe CW universe, you know, Flash
Arrow, Supergirl. I mean, these shows were all strong. Legends of
Tomorrow, which Legends of Tomorrow isa fun show. It did get hokey
in a couple of episodes, hokeyas fun, to be honest with you,

(11:41):
but still overall a super strong showand a super strong universe that they
created. And so it's cool tosee Black Lightning. How can I forget
that that was probably my damn favorite, to be honest with you, Black
Lightning the Legends, because The Legends, even though I say it did get
hokey, was just such a funshow. And like when they did the
crossovers and you see all of thesecharacters from these books that you supported for

(12:03):
years, see them on the bigscreen and see them come to life.
This is weird like attachment that youhave. Like people that never read the
books. I'm sure they enjoy themovies and these shows, or they can
enjoy the movies and these shows, but they don't enjoy them as much as
those of us that have read aboutthese characters and have loved these characters for
all of these years. There's justyou don't have the attachment that we have,

(12:28):
and that makes that makes some comicreaders feel entitled, which is a
weird thing. You know. Yousee it now everybody's talking about Cobra Kai.
It's like, yeah, well I'vewatched it two years ago. I'm
better than you're, Like, well, fucking shut up. I didn't have
whatever streaming service that it was onlytwo years ago, is how it is.
I'm not even super crazy about y'allheard this show. I don't give

(12:50):
a fuck about No Karate, butI'm still I'm going to watch the Cobrak
but you are now better because youwatched it before me. Wellfucker anyway,
So Stargirl, if you haven't seenit DC Universe app, go check it
out because that shit is good. Also on the DC Universe app, I
read I watched Superman red Son andSon is and so when and so this

(13:15):
is based on if Superman was aRussian, Like if instead of Superman landing
as a baby as it, it'llbe the baby boy instead of landing in
Kansas, his ass landed in Russianand grew up in Russian. So that
was a that was pretty damn cool. I liked it. And again DC's
animated movies so fucking that really fuckinggood. They captured the vibe of the

(13:39):
books, and really that's the mainthing you gotta do in cinematic universes,
Like what Marvel has done with prettymuch all of their characters, is even
if they're slight changes here and there, they still capture the vibe of that
character, and they captured the toneof that character, um and of the
universe of what we like about MarvelUniverse. So yeah, look at me,

(14:05):
you see see, I'm such anexpert on this thing, just throwing
out of this advice. You knowwhat, maybe maybe that's how things work,
that's how people learn. You throwthis advice out into the universe,
and it somehow makes its way tothe right mind. It makes its way
to the right right brain, becauseyour brain is just a receiver. All
the information is floating out there, can your brain receive it. So your

(14:26):
brain is like a satellite dish andthere's a million radio stations flying around,
flying around, flying around, andyou got a tune into the right one
to absorb that information. Such asay, brain works. Man, he's
like that shit. Let me gettingdeep on you. I'm also rewatching the
entire Marvel universe. I'm up toBlack Panther now, which does hit a

(14:46):
little harder now that Chadwick Boseman haspassed. But um, it's weird.
Iron Man is like the weakest movies. You know, it's the ironmos what
kind of got this Marvel univer started. But those are kind of the weakest
movies, you know. The um, the Thoris might actually be the especially

(15:09):
Thor of the Dark World or whateverthe fuck that one was. That one,
that one, uh, that wasa bit long, a bit long
in the tooth. And I've talkedbefore about thor ragnar Rock, which it
did have some good moments, butfunk, that was a goofy ass movie.
Just so far for an apocalyptic movie. That was some goofy shit.
Um, But man, did Ilove some Hella. She did it for

(15:33):
me, y'all. I'm just lettingyou know, from my lips to your
ears, Hella Hella can get it. She hella fine, yea, she
hell a fine. Uh and she'dprobably kill me after it's over, So
win, win, win win.Um. What else did I watch?
Watch the whole Boon Ship? Um? The Boys? Oh my goodness,

(15:56):
So the Boys episode. I guessevery Friday a new episode just coming out.
So they're doing that thing where youhave to wait a week, which
is good because I would bringe watchthat ship all in one day and then
it would be over. So takingyour time and letting it also again watching
them a couple of times because they'reso good man, just they're hitting on
all cylinders. That that is afantastic show real quick. I did have

(16:22):
to mention this because I was scrollingthrough Amazon Prime and there was a movie
called The Terror Dackles Long Term,Long Term, Long term and long time
fans of Shane Hill's note that myfantasy football team was the Terror Dackles.
I can't have nothing, motherfucker's.I was still in my shit, but
then I went so, now mynew team is the Lunartics luna Ar Ticks.

(16:47):
So I said, well, letme google see if there's any Lunartics
out there, because my Terror Dacklespredated this fucking movie. That's my shit.
There's a damn band out there calledthe Lunartics. Motherfucker's they need they're
gonna have to make me music. And speaking of my Lunartics, we whooped,
We whipped so much ass this week, opening, opening week. Listen

(17:11):
to this. So the guy thatI was going against, he teamed up
with somebody else and they called themselvesthe Two Horsemen, right, that's the
name of their team. It wasa team with no name, which was
a play on a Game of Thrones. So but he changed it to the
Two Horsemen, So it was theTwo Horsemen versus the Lunartics. Final score,

(17:34):
you're ready for this. The TwoHorsemen ninety six point three points,
the Lunar Tics a hundred and sixtythree points. Smash that ass ticks in
your mouth all day. Yeah, that's that, and that is my slugging

(17:56):
ticks in your mouth. Deal withit, people, I'm sick. I'm
twisted. I'm twisted like a fuckingtwizzler. That's how I do it.
So yeah, so I got thehighest point total out of the league with
that one, sixty three. Justwhooped, sad ass. Good to see

(18:17):
football back, though, interesting thingsgoing on. Cam Newton playing exactly like
Cam Newton plays for New England, goes up there, runs there for a
couple of touchdowns, and that's whateverybody was saying, goes yeah, but
but Kenny throw it. I'm like, have y'all not watched this guy for
like the last eight years, howeverlong he's been playing. They're gonna have

(18:37):
to make some adjustments though, becausehere's what happens with running quarterbacks. That
I was having this conversation with afriend of mine and it was just odd
to me that this never crossed hismind. He's like, yeah, but
there's running quarterbacks sometimes they don't getto throw as well, and all like
I'm like, yeah, that's generallywhy they're running because the past protection is
broken down. You know. Ofcourse, you got a design play here

(18:59):
and there, or a quarterback sneakthings like that that are by designed.
The quarterback runs, but the fewand far between on the average football team.
Normally, when you see a quarterbackrunning and scrambling, it's because his
offensive line is broken down. Somethingthat's happened, you know, the pocket
collapse. He's got to get thefuck out of there. He's got it,
you know. Motherfucker's got an elbowand assholes head to the end zone,

(19:22):
try to make anything happen. That'sgenerally what happens. And when you
run, I don't know if yougot and this is what I said.
It said, dude, running itis harder than standing there. That's why
running quarterbacks get tired. That's whyrunning quarterbacks in their fourth quarter aren't as
effective because their as been running thewhole game. And even if they're not
a running quarterback, if it's aquarterback that's been sacked, like who was

(19:45):
it the Philadelphia Eagles, their quarterbackWinCE the Washington football team smashed his ass
eight times. You think his asswon't tire by that fourth quarter? Couldn't
breathe, you know, So,if your answer is running and scrambling,
and even if you're running these plays, you're gonna you're gonna be worse for
wear than a quarterback that can justdrop back a few yards, sit in

(20:08):
that pocket, check things out, throw the ball. That quarterback is saving
energy. That quarterback is conserving energy. You're I mean, And like I
said, dude, how did younot know that running is harder than standing
still? Man? I just neverthought about it like that. And that's
when I had to give him abackhand. I gave him a backhand biscuit
right to his lips um. Butanyway, glad to see football back,

(20:33):
but I'm glad to see the lunarticsfantasy football destruction. I got a tough
matchup this week though. The otherguy, the guy I'm going against,
they called themselves. What's his name. He's got a cool name, the
Crystal Lake Killers, and he spellskiller with his Z, so you know
he means business. He had abig win this weekend too, So me

(20:56):
and him gonna go head to head. We're gonna go toe to toe.
We're gonna knuckle up, buttercup, see what happens. But yeah, lunatics,
that's the team. Ticks in yourmouth All Day podcast. They're free
to you, but they're not freeto do fifty episodes deep of Highway to
Helms free of charge. But nowmore than ever, I'm going to need

(21:17):
your support to keep this train rolling. So go to Pro Wrestling ts dot
com slash Shane Helms. Also goto Collar and Elbow Brand dot com slash
Shane Helms. I don't want donations, I don't want handouts. I want
you to get something for your money. So pick yourself up a shirt sun.
You know, I got the Flyersgear in the game. And now

(21:41):
it's time for a Q and A. I'm gonna start this one off with
my man Chris Brooker. In youropinion, who's the best fictational villain on
TV at the moment and why HomelanderHomelander from The Boys is the best feeling
going Uh and I like that he'slayered U that there's kind of that he's

(22:04):
fucked up, but you can kindof understand how he got that way.
Um. You know, when abad guy is just a bad guy for
like, really no reasons and there'sno depth to him, Um, that
always kind of seems seems a littlelazy to me, you know, And
I guess they have their you know, they serve a purpose at times.
But the Homelander to me is justhe's creepy. There's something to be fearful

(22:27):
about him. So there's a menaceto him. Um and yeah, man,
he's just the boys is an excellentshow and he's the best feeling on
TV right now. And here's aquestion from Sonny Mio who was at KCS
Superkick on tweet. Would you sayyou had the best Shining Wizard ever?

(22:52):
If not you, then who I'mgonna I'm gonna give Great Mooda the credit
for that because it was his move. I took it and I changed it
to a shining Ziguri, So myversion of it is the best ever.
And I'm second. I'll take secondplace to move them. And I made
that ship popular and other people gotit for me in North America and whatever.
But yeah, so next this isfrom Alberto Esparza for USO shows overseas.

(23:22):
Would you guys volunteer for those orwould you get volunteld I volunteered.
I mean I'm not sure if otherguys ever got told they had to go,
but I always volunteered, and Ialways enjoyed them. Loved it.
Captain obvious favorite Batman sidekick, RedRed Robin, Red Robin, Nightweing Back

(23:47):
Girl or Red Hood. I mean, I guess you gotta go. Oh
of those who doesn't even have thetraditional Robin so Red Robin, Nightweing Back
Girl or Red Hood, they allgot their advantages. I'm gonna go with
Nightwing on that one though. Whatelse here is dustin h eighty eight miles

(24:11):
per hour? If you had someoneto shoot you in a face, no,
if you had someone to shoot andedit for you, would you consider
a weekly YouTube series, your ownskit whatever you wanted it to be,
reoccurring, weekly episodic trending content.Of course. You know I'm all about
content. I've been putting that shipfor years. I would. I'm the

(24:33):
social media pioneer when it compare whenit comes to pro wrestling, no matter
how many other MANI people try tosteal my credit. Sons of bitches,
y'all know it was me, andI'm definitely the most interactive pro wrestler ever.
So I'm all about putting out contentif it's good, and especially if
I had some help help me,Lord Justice. Here's a question from Jay

(24:56):
hyphen E false on the new Mandaloriantrailer, I thought that should look cool.
I'm hyping for it, can't wait. It comes out in October.
Sashall banks the Boss with a littlePass and the Mandalorian and in the trailer
which leads me to believe she's gonnahave a good role. I'm excited about
it. I'm happy for her,um, very excited about it. That

(25:19):
show. That show helped Disney Plusand I mean it's the reason I got
the Disney Plus app. So yeah, I'm digging it. Can't wait,
can't wait to check it out. Here's a question from the bo Jangles champion
of this world. When will yoube launching your only fans? I think

(25:41):
I've already addressed this. If ifI have to launch an only fans,
I'm gonna call it lonely Fans. And that's what it's gonna be about it.
She's gonna be a bunch of uscrying. We're gonna wake up every
day screaming and then start crying. Here's from I'm a Beagle or whatever,
I don't know what his name is. If you did one more major match,

(26:04):
who would your dream opponent be?Well, I mean, so we
got to go with different companies. So if I went to So if I
did, let's start with Impact,Eric Jonah, because I've never worked there
Young and I would love to andI think he's fabulous. So from Impact
it would be Eric Young. Sogoing over to a W Let's see,

(26:30):
if I was the Hurricane, Iwould need me a villain. I wouldn't
need me a good villain, butI don't want somebody who could hurt me.
I want an easy villain. Um, I don't even know, trying
to think I would Actually I wouldlove the team up would gold Dust again
because we had We had a lotof fun as a team. If I

(26:53):
was at Hell, I think Iwould want to work with Darby Allen because
see, you know, I justlike his and like his stuff. As
the Hurricane, probably m JF becausehe's a straight villain and the Hurricane he's
a villain and he's one of thebest going. So I'm gonna say MJF
from my a W. MJF froma W. Eric Young from TNA.

(27:15):
Now, now we go to WWEon this SmackDown side the Fiend, the
Hurricane and the Fiend would be moneyeven to this date. You give me,
give me a give me six weeks, I'll be in ring shape.
I could take on the fiend.Um. I might land on my fucking
head, but I'll be there ifyou go to raw Man damn her business

(27:38):
boys. I've actually been in thering with all of them. Actually I've
never been in Cedric is the newestmember, so I've never been in the
ring with Cedric. But man,he just hit well, he hit my
man Ricochet with that Lombard check thispast Monday night. Y'all need to find
that because that looked. That lookpowerful. Um, I've kind of already

(27:59):
been in the ring with all ofthem. I think I would like the
team with Ricochet. That would beinteresting. That would be an interesting dynamic.
You know, you got a grizzlebatman with a young Robin us.
It way better shape that badman. That'd be an interesting take on it.
So I'm gonna say I would wewould team. I would team with Ricochet,

(28:22):
and we would need some villains totake on. But uh, we'll
worry about that part later. Sohere's a question from Jill Thompson. Can
you cook not very well? Imean what I do cook is good,
but you know, the selection ispretty limited. You know, but what
I do cook is pretty good. You know, I did buy a brand

(28:45):
new grill and my state game,my state game is going good. I
can cook a good steak now.I used to make a really good spaghetti.
But you know, nine times outof ten, I'm booted out of
the kitchen if it's if the kidshave a vote, so I do,
okay. But there's a lot ofmicrowavable stuff in my repertoire too. So

(29:08):
that's just how it is. That'sjust how it is. Here's the question
from Jason Alan Hagler. Do youthink there's not enough storytelling in today's wrestling?
I mean there's storytelling. It justdepends on whether the story is good.
I think there's a lot of elementsthat have been regulated as not important

(29:29):
these days, when I feel thatthey actually are a lot of little things.
Because the devil's in the details. There's a lot of little subtle things
that have gotten lost that aren't doneanymore. That means so much when telling
the kind of stories that we tellin pro wrestling. So yeah, where
we at now? Here's a questionfrom the notorious PMC favorite Marvel storyline and

(29:55):
favorite DC storylines of all time,Man it's too much. Man, it's
only been eighteen thousand. I don'tknow how you pick one, and they
changed all the all the time.I don't know, you know, I
mean favorite Marvel storyline of all time? You know, I remember my earliest
favorite was Secret Wars. I lovedthe Secret Wars the especially the first first

(30:18):
Secret War. The second Secret Worldwas was interesting to me because I loved
the Beyonder and it went through allthese different books, so that was kind
of the first real mega crossover,I feel. But it's hard to say.
It's hard to say. It's hardto pick a favorite storyline of all
time, and you know I digthe cosmic stuff, so probably the Infinity

(30:41):
Gauntlet from Marvel. That storyline mighthave been might be my favorite of all
time because Thanos and Adam Warlock andall of those cosmic characters. I was
such a favorite of them. Theywere such a favorite of mine since I
was a young child. So tosee them kind of come together finally and
you see what they led to inthe Marvel universe, so that's how interesting

(31:03):
they can be. So I lovethat in DC. I mean DC had
the Watchman and I'm such a hugeWatchman fan, so it's kind of hard
not to say that. But also, if you want to talk about just
one particular storyline, Legion Lost stillstands out to me. I still go
back to that and I reread itevery couple of years or so, and

(31:27):
like does not. I don't hearanybody else ever really talk about it.
So I don't know what it isabout it that I liked, but I
just do you know, the MisterMiracle from Tom King in recent years really
hit home with me for different reasons. And what I always liked about that

(31:48):
book when I talk about it isit took a character that I didn't give
a shit about it and put ithigh on the Greggs List, high on
Gregg's list. So I'm really, really a big fan of that. So
here's a question from Sean Ace.What are your thoughts on communism. I
don't have fucking any thoughts on communism, So yeah, I think, but

(32:10):
are there elements that were good?Sure? There word elements that were terrible?
Of course that I think that's allgovernments. I don't think people realize
that we haven't figured out a reallygood system yet. There's no systems on
the fucking planet that work perfectly oreven close. You know, there's a
lot fucking about our democratic system thatis fucked up, especially right now at

(32:34):
this moment. So yeah, there'sno perfect government. We're not even close.
So moving on another question from Scottshare of me probably butchered that shit,
something I've never heard anyone ask.I know you loved going to perform
for the troops. What was itlike from a security and safety aspect for

(32:55):
you guys? What types of specificinstructions were even beforehand by the military and
what sorts of security was offered foryou guys while there? What are the
dudes and the don'ts um? Iwas like never afraid of anything, you
know. I mean on those militarybasis, those are some of the safest
places on earth. You know, they got the weapons, all the weapons

(33:16):
are there. You know, it'slike something happens at your house, you
got to call the cops. Likeon those military basis, you got all
the defense right there. So Imean I never felt like insecure. I
never felt unease or anything like that. I know, like flying in was
like the only places where were theonly times where like I even remember being

(33:38):
told, you know, we needto be careful here because flying in and
out. Once you own the base, you'll find but sometimes getting there.
And I remember when we were goingto Jibouti in which is a base in
North Africa, there was you know, some kind of thing where they were

(33:59):
going to fly us one route, but then for security reasons they needed to
go another route. And we werein the back of a damn plane anyway,
this big plane like army teams comeout of. So we're in the
back of those fucking things and they'relike not not super comfortable whatsoever. So
just imagine, you know, andall the respect to the troops that have
to fly in those things all thetime, but you're in those things for
a long time. But I mean, once we got to the basis,

(34:21):
I never like detected anything when Iworked with Armed Forces Entertainment and we flew
in the Baghdad and stuff like that. Now, flying into Iraq, we
were in a black Hawk and there'sa guy right in front of me and
he's got the guns hanging out thewindows and they're just on alert making sure
nobody meant does anything. And soI mean, you do have these white

(34:45):
if thoughts to go through your head. Wait, if some ship pops off,
you know, but I mean,we got the most elite fighters on
the fucking planet with us, withthe best weapons, you know, the
best of the biggest, So youknow, I was pretty I felt pretty
safe the entire time. You know, you'd have to wear these I remember
we were wearing these vests that weighedlike twenty fucking pounds, you know,

(35:06):
and my back and ship was hurting. So I mean respected to to our
military for all the stuff that theydo on a daily basis over there.
But you know what I mean,I don't really recall anything like we weren't
ever in a area with a generalpopulation so that we had to worry about
doing things like that, if anything, when we would like just regular shows.

(35:30):
I mean, my the scariest momentin my career was we got trapped
in a strip club in Spain. It was either Spain or Portugal. And
I've told the story before. Idon't wanted to go into it again,
but there was some there was somekind of Russian my fioso type vibe in
there and they shut they locked thedoors on a couple of us inside and
locked us in there and we kindof had to funage our way out.

(35:52):
Uh. That was scary. Thathad nothing and that had nothing to do
with the military, and and itbrings up I remember, like somebody when
I was going to one of theseoverseas places, and somebody was asking me,
like, aren't you afraid to goto those places? And I'm like,
do you not watch the news?America is just as scary as any
fucking places, you know, interms of how many people we kill every

(36:15):
all the time, you know.So I was like, shit, I'm
scared to go to Durham, youknow. But yeah, I mean,
for the most part, I feltI felt generally pretty safe. So thank
you. Thank you for the question. Though, here's a question from Daniel
Daniels. Say, Daniel Jay Zimmerman, how was it standing on the stage

(36:39):
on September of the thirteenth, twothousand and one as Lilian Garcia belted the
Star Spangle banner? It was thatwas tough because she she does my favorite
rendition of the Star Spangle banner, and at that time I had the face
paint, the makeup and I'm tryingnot to get teared up. Calls the

(37:00):
ww put on the first mass eventafter two thousand and one. We were
the first company to do anything likethat. First mass gathering was WWE was
that SmackDown, and the first matchor the first mask gathering was myself and
land Storm against the Hardy Boys, and the direction was go out there have

(37:21):
a feel good match, baby facesup. So that's what we're gonna do.
We're gonna go out there and justput on a good match and try
to take people's mind off of thismassive tragedy. That's what sometimes as an
entertainer, that's you know, that'swhat you do. You know, as
an entertainer, you want to entertainpeople, but especially in times of tragedy,
that entertainment carries a little bit ofa more little bit of a more

(37:44):
weight, you know what I'm saying. You know, because you want them
to forget entirely the tragedy. Youwant them to focus on this and have
a good time and even for justa brief moment, take the mind off
of that. That's the goal. And so, you know, you that's
why we're going to do that night. But then to your question, Lillian
went out there and just killed it. She was so good and it was

(38:05):
just there was so much emotion andyou could just feel it. Man,
And I'm I'm an empathic person.Man, if people are happy around me,
I'm happy. They're sad, I'msad. If they're getting Terriotte,
I'm getting tiriot. You know. It's just this is just how I react.
And so, man, it washard to hold it in. And
my eyes were starting to burn becauseonce they get watered up, that makeup
gets in my eyes a little bit. So I was struggling with that.

(38:30):
But it was just, you know, it was a very patriotic moment.
Man. It was a moment ofunity in the country and it was cool
when you know. So shout outto Lilian. Shout out to Lilian.
There's a question from Brian Holland,I want some good Nashville stories. Tell
how much you loved working with Savannah. Savannah for a real some good music

(38:53):
Cities stories. Love the show.Thank you. Some Music City Wrestling.
Was this a territory run by BertPrentiss and Bill Barrens would help out.
I know they were. I don'tknow if they were partners like fifty to
fifty, but they were the twoguys we dealt with. And that was
right before me and Shannon got signedat wc W. We worked in Music
City. We would team with JoeyMurcury and Christian York as the Bad Street

(39:16):
Boys, and that was either Birdor Bill's idea. I think it was
Bert's definitely not our idea. Iwanted the team with Mike Howe Big Daddy
might maver because the Cereal Thrillers. We went out there, and I guess
they just didn't like the idea orwhatever, even though it was working everywhere
else, they didn't like it.And then Mike started teaming with the guy

(39:37):
who would later on become the DUPto Schwan's Murray Happer. So me and
Shannon went out to Nashville and wewould drive nine and a half hours every
other week, nine in a halfhours one way too. And I think
it was only like a forty dollarsguarantee that we would get a piece and

(39:58):
didn't have to drive down half hoursback, and so it was rough on
us, but you know, wedid it because Music City had a good
little TV show. They had agood lineage behind them, you know,
a good reputation. And we'd alsoheard him that's my stomach, Grella.
Joe heard that Hope, We heardthat WCW got the got the TV tapes
and knew of their product, andwe heard the same thing that ww knew

(40:20):
about this territory and it's the closestthing to a territory at the time,
and we knew that they got theirTV and they checked it out, and
so that's why we went. AndI mean we had a good time.
We weren't there that long, tobe honest with you, half a year
maybe before we ended up getting signed. So no bad stories. If the
Savannah person is when you're talking about, I think this was a valet.

(40:45):
If it's the same one, therewas a valley there that hit me in
the face, like the finish ofthis match was going to be she comes
in and hits me like with apurse, but it was her real purse
that had like her makeup and shitin it, and it swung around and
hit me in the mouth and theybusted my level or something. You know.
I don't remember any like really crazystories. I remember we had a

(41:06):
lot of fun. We didn't reallyget to hang out too much in Music
City with that company because we hadsuch a long drive after what we would
have to hit the road, youknow, and sometimes we'd sleep in a
rest area and just pull over, take a couple of hours and as she
was rough. I had a lotmore fun in Nashville, the city with

(41:28):
WWE, because we know we doTV there and stay, stay the night
and then go getting some trouble, getting some trouble. Had a fantastic night
hanging out with Jeremy Borash in Nashvilleone time that I'm probably gonna have to
save that story for the book GoodTimes. So here's the question from Paul

(41:52):
Brelsford. Which external body part wouldyou live without if you were forced to
lose one? Man, I ain'tgiving up no damn body parts. I
mean, I guess like a pinkytoe something like that. Man, let's
start small. I ain't trying togive him nothing big. You heard me?
What are some of your favorite nineStephen King horror novels? Um?

(42:15):
This is from Brian Mick gunn andgiggle, gun gun Niggle. I don't
know what the hell I just said. Um, I'm sitting there looking at
my other bookcase, because my bookcaseis in my office. I got a
lot of Dean Coots in here.John Saul um Man, I mean there's

(42:36):
a lot of there's a lot ofpeople out the other than Stephen King.
Man, come on, John Saul. I was on a big John Sault
kick for a while. I thinkit gets like that you find that author
that you that you dig, youdig his stories, and it don't even
matter that she is good. You'rereading it. And like, not all
of Stephen King's stuff has been fantastic, but like he's had so many things

(42:57):
that were absolutely incredible. You gottastick with him because the chances of his
books being good are really high.So moving on, where are we at?
Where am I at? Here's aquestion from Taylor Simpson. What moment
in your career gave the loudest pop? I mean, I've had him,

(43:19):
you know what I mean? Tobe fair, I've had I've had a
few to do it, some goodones, But I mean the one just
in the most recent memory was whenI came out for the Rumble in twenty
and eighteen. Like that pop wasjust incredible. So I'm gonna just go
with that one. That's the mostrecent, and boy about knocked me for
a loop. Here's a question fromMorgan McGhee. In the DC universe,

(43:44):
do you think there will ever bean Alan Scott introduction? Maybe maybe so,
I mean, especially if they doa movie. I mean, if
they get more involved into the GreenLantern Corps, your horse, there should
be Annan Scott movie. So whatelse, Benjamin Trotter, what is your

(44:04):
favorite cookout shake? I go withpeach, isn't at a peach? And
to wrap it up, I mightgo with Matthew Somerville advice for young workers
in the business Number one, getin fucking shape. Pro wrestling is still

(44:25):
based on combat, So looking likean actual athlete and fighter. I think
it's always a benefit from a visualwhat was that from a visual stand standpoint?
But also pro wrestling is pretty roughon your body, pretty destructive to
your body. So the strugger yourbody is, the better it's gonna handle

(44:51):
the beatings. There's a reason thevast majority of combat athletes look the way
they do. There's a reason forthat. And I mean, every now
and then you're gonna have one thatmight not, you know, fit the
stereotypical mold. But that's one outof a hundred maybe, you know,

(45:13):
so better your odds, better yourodds at success by looking the part.
And like I said, from ahealth standpoint, you know you probably will
be eating better, which is alwaysgood. You know, you probably you're
not gonna have as many bad habitsif you're taking care of your body,
which is good. Like I said, you're going to strengthen your body.

(45:35):
Other than that's never stop learning.Always be learning. Never think you're great.
The second you stop learning, you'regonna start getting worse. You need
to always look at every match, how can I make that better? Watch
it back? Watch your matches back, watch them without the sound because the
audience sometimes can you know sway youyou could be so over with an audience

(46:00):
that anything you do they like, whether it actually is technically a mechanically good,
you know. So always I alwaysbe trying to improve. And that's
one thing I was always proud ofmyself in my career. I always felt
I was getting better. I neverfelt like there was a point where I
just planted and wasn't trying. Iwas always trying to improve. I was

(46:22):
always adding new stuff, whether itwas to my repertoire. And you can
see the stuff I put on Twitter, on Instagram and not to put myself
over, but man I put Idid some good shit, y'all. I
I had some things. I hadsome things that I did that was good,
and I was always adding new stuffand whether it was changing my look

(46:43):
up a little bit, changing theoutfit a little bit, you know,
just trying to improve and trying tobring something different. Now. I never
wanted to just be doing the sameold shit, you know what I'm saying.
So well, that would be myadvice for young wrestlers and coming aspiring
talent. Um. That's about it. So yeah, a nice little Q

(47:06):
and A. You know, Iwent pretty heavy last week. So I'll
get the Comedy Slam up and runin next week because I will be reading
some There's some firebooks out that,uh that I'm looking forward to seeing so
reading. So Comedy Slam will beit back hot and heavy next week.
Um. So that's that's about it. That about wraps it up. Make

(47:27):
sure you check out real good foods. Use that promo code helms that keeps
them sponsoring the show. Listen. That's it. That's just the real deal.

myself. I can't can't, can'tput it over enough. I'm also talking
with another new sponsor about or potentialsponsor about some things that a new supplement

terms of just overall energy level, which for me at forty six, man,
