jumping in the Gospel of John chapter five, and we're
starting right here on verse one, and I'm coming at
you from the New King James. All right, so let's
(06:53):
go ahead and jump it off. Let's take the very
first verse. He says. After this, there was a feast
of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Amen, hallelujah.

It's just amazing how the Bible just tracks all the
movements and the activities of Jesus Christ. Because Jesus is
the center of everything. Jesus is the creator. Jesus is
the object of creation. He created all things for his
(07:34):
own pleasure. And so we need a heart, we need
a spirit, We need the sensitivity of the spirit to
be sensitive to the movements of Jesus in our lives. Amen. Now,
this feast could have been either the Passover or maybe
(07:59):
another Pilgrim feasts. They had multiple feasts where the whole
nation would come and gather in Jerusalem. Amen, almost like
a family reunion. How awesome would that be if America
would do this, if we would have a feast to
where we would all gather as a nation and come
(08:23):
together as one. But the focus is not on the
feast itself, It's on Jesus and the work of Jesus
Christ in the midst. Sometimes we focus on events, but
Jesus brings the real purpose into every gathering. And we
(08:50):
say that again. Sometimes you think the focus is on
the event itself. You look at how many people show
up up, we look at the lights and the music,
and I'm speaking from experience. I'm talking about myself, as
we know, I've always shared. You know, we opened up
(09:12):
of His hot back in twenty twelve and we had
the building for six and a half almost seven years.
We did events every month and some events were packed
out and some events was nothing but empty chairs. And
it's very humbling to have artists come from out the
(09:33):
States and have an empty building. But you know what,
they would steal Minister with all of their hearts because
they knew that God was there. They knew that if
nobody else showed up, Jesus was there and we were there.
(09:54):
He is the focus. And what that means is we
can always He's always looking for us. If we're there
worship being God, then it was not a waste of time. Amen.
And we believe that seeds were planted. You may not
(10:15):
see right now, but in eternity we believe that seeds
were planted. Some plant some water, and some reaped the harvest.
S Amen, all right, let's hit verse two in three.
Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a
(10:37):
pool which is called in Hebrew. But they is done
having five porches, and these lay a great multitude of
sick people. Now, just imagine that it would look like
either a hospital or a lot of people were laid up.
(10:59):
It would have been as like to see all these
sick people that were laid up. And it wasn't just
a few. It said a great multitude. So who knows
how many people were there by this pool? And it
said that the blind, the lame in, the paralyzed, waiting
(11:21):
for the moving of the water. Now, but there's the
means in Hebrew house of mercy. The sick gathered there
because they had hopes of being healed. It was a
(11:44):
place of hope for them. Now people are still gathering
today in houses of hope right, searching for healing, searching
to be touched. But true healing is in Christ Jesus. Amen.

I've heard of people that would go and minister shout
out to the ministers and hospitals and those who go
out to the sick and the shut in as they say,
and minister because they're real and only hope is in
Jesus Christ. Now I'm gonna throw a question out there.
(12:27):
This always puzzled me, and this is just me. This
is just a way I'm thinking, like, Okay, here's a pool,
the pool Bethesda, right in Israel. Here's a multitude of
sick people. And if I'm not mistaken, this pool is
(12:53):
we're gonna read. I believe it's only like stirred once
a year, and only the first person that gets in
it is gonna get healed. Okay, why not make it
so that everybody can get healed and jump in the pool.
(13:13):
All you have to do is jump and submerge yourselves
in the pool. The whole multitude you can jump in
there at the same time. Right, And why just once
a year? I don't know. I just that's just me.
But of course God does things in order and there's
always a reason for it. I don't know. Maybe, well,
(13:38):
let's ask Holy Spirit, can you give us revelation and
just break it down why it was set up that way?
And we would love to get that revelation before the
end of this podcast, But Lord mayor will be done,
because I don't know. I'm asking the Holy Spirit. Why
(13:58):
was it set up that way? How come they everybody
couldn't just jump in? Amen? Well, let's listen for the
answer as we continue in these scriptures, and let's see Hallelujah,
where are we? We are? We just finished two and three,

all right, so let's go to four, five and six. Amen.
For Yeah, that's all I was just saying. For an
angel went down at a certain time into the pool
(14:47):
and stirred up the water. So maybe it's more than
just once a year, but it was a certain time
that an angel. And I'm wondering who is this angel?
Obviously it was an angel of healing possibly or something
to do with the water. Then whoever stepped in first?
(15:08):
Now this was almost like a race, and a lot
of these I mean, you got paralyzed people that are there, like,
how are they going to get in there first? After
the stirring of the water was made. Let me see, then,
whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water
(15:29):
was made well of whatever disease he had. Now, a
certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty eight years. Now,
I'm willing to assume that for thirty eight years he
(15:50):
was not able to be the first one. As a
matter of fact, he complains about it. Now. When Jesus
saw him laying there and knew that he already he
had been in this condition a long time, he said
to him, do you want to be made? Well? Wow,
that's powerful, that's amazing. Jesus knew that he had the virtue,
(16:16):
he knew he had the power. He knew that he
was the answer to this man's situation. All right, let's
break it down a little bit. Now, Jesus's question goes
beyond more than just a physical Many can get comfortable
(16:38):
in their brokenness. Many people can get comfortable in their condition. Now,
some really don't want to be changed, right, Some people
don't want to be healed. Some people like the attention
they get, the sympathy they get from other people, the
perks that they get. I remember growing up, you know,
(17:02):
I was Remember I got saved at fifteen, but I
went through seasons of backsliding and some people that I
knew at the time, where you know, we were at
the age where we're just getting ready. We're making money.
People working at the dump and you know, buying cars
and stuff and you know, just doing the thing right
(17:23):
with all their money. But somehow they would get those
handicap stickers on their cars. Why because they wanted to
park their nice shiny car in the handicap They wanted
the best spots in the parking lot, knowing that somebody
(17:44):
who really needs it, you just block this person. And
some people like the perks of it. Some people like
the attention they get. Some people will scam the system
just to get a handicap parking, to get good parking.
And our pastor always says, well, you're cursing yourself like
(18:05):
you're gonna need that one day if you keep playing
with it, you know what I'm saying. But some people
like that. But Jesus asked a question, do you want
to be made whole? And I love that. I love
the fact that Jesus knew that he had the power,
(18:27):
he had the virtue. He is the answer to all
of our problems. Amen, hallelujah. Okay, let's hit verse seven
through nine. Seven through nine nine, let's rock with that now.
(18:48):
The sick man answered, sir, I have no man to
put me into the pool when the water is stirred
up while I am coming, another steps down before me.
So now this has always puzzled me when I read
this scripture, Like, okay, just open it up for everybody.
Like this man was here for thirty some years. Ain't
(19:12):
no way he's gonna be able to somebody would first off,
would have to carry him up there and help him.
But man, just imagine thirty years ago you were the
first person to get in there, like you'd have forgotten
about the citsus. You went on with your life after that,
You're not thinking about this guy. And verse eight, Jesus
(19:37):
said to him, rise, take up your bed and walk. Now,
that is a mighty miracle after all this time, don't
give up hope. Right, it might be a long time
before you get the answer to your prayer. Just keep
waiting on God. This man waited thirty eight years, and
(19:59):
immediately the man was made well, took up his bed
and walk. Al alujah. That's a praise right there, the
work of Jesus Christ, the work of his miracles. Amen.
(20:24):
Now let me see. And that day was the sabbath.
Uh oh, I'm talking about some Sabbath stuff. Now we're
getting we're gonna get into some opposition. Right now. We
(20:45):
talked about how Jesus is the true source. He was
looking at the water, he was looking at the pool,
but the true source of his healing walked up and
stepped in front of him and began to talk with him.
Now Jesus became who he truly is the answer. And
(21:09):
as I said, Jesus is also our answer, our answer.
What do we need healing from? What do we need
help with? What do we need deliverance from? Right, just
shout out the name of Jesus. Now, don't wait on
people or on systems. Let me say that again. Don't
(21:32):
wait on people or on systems. Look to Jesus. He
can change anything, and he can do it instantly. We
don't have to wait. It doesn't it's not going to
take thirty eight years. Right like this man, Jesus can
do it instantly. And as we're going through this chapter,
(21:55):
and as we're reading this right now, currently as I speak,
we our country is in the midst of a government shutdown.
A government shut down. A lot of government workers are
out of a job, or at least they have a job,
but they got to show up and not get paid
(22:18):
for the job. What do you do when you don't
have gas and you don't have a paycheck, but you
got to go to work? Like, what do you do?
What do you do? I can't imagine going to work
and expecting to produce and be productive without getting paid. Right.
(22:38):
We can't trust in people and we cannot trust in systems.
Jesus has an answer even for this situation. Amen, Okay,
so verse ten. The Jews therefore said to him who
(23:03):
was cured, it is the Sabbath. It is not lawful
for you to carry your bed. Wow. Can you imagine
the heart and the spirit behind us? You answer them,
He who made me well said to me, take up
your bed and walk. Oh man, check this out. Religion
(23:35):
cared more about rules than this miracle that they see
before them. I'm only the bat that these religious leaders
walked past this man multiple times within thirty eight years.
I mean, this guy grew up out there. Who knows
(23:59):
how how old he was, who knows his age when
this first happened to him, But he was out there
thirty eight years. They knew that this was a miracle.
They knew that this man had a condition. If they
were more concerned about him carrying his beds hee. Legalism
winds us to the joy of the work of God.
(24:21):
They should have been rejoicing that God was doing the
work in their mist when God moves. Don't be the critic.
You need to be the witness to the work of God.
I would hate to be the person who criticizes a
(24:42):
move and a work of God. I'd hate to be
that person. Amen Us, be the person that rejoices and
praises and God is at work.

It looks like you lost another one.

Where we at verse twelve. Then they asked him who
is the man who said to you take up the
bed and walk? But the one who was healed did
not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn a
multitude being in the place. Afterwards, Jesus found him in
(25:28):
the temple and said to him, see, you have been
made well, sin no more less a worse thing comes
upon you. Wow, that is amazing. Jesus took the time
out to reveal himself to this man. Now Jesus finds
(25:52):
him later and tells him sin no more. Some are
tied to sin, but not all of them. You can't
say that every person who is sick, has some type
of sin in their life is the cause. But also
(26:13):
we can say that, you know what I mean, it's
just I guess it just takes discernment in the spirit.
Here Jesus calls him to holiness, He calls them to
be holy. Healing is not just physical, it's a spiritual element.
The scientists of today, the doctors and all that, the
(26:37):
people who do the research, they're finally catching up to
the Bible. They're starting to they're starting to realize that
bitterness and unforgiveness is the cause of a lot of
sicknesses in the world today. People who refuse to forgive,
people who hold on to bitterness and anger, release negative
(26:59):
type of chemicals in our bodies, and that just eats
us up. The Bible says that laughter is health to
the bones. Amen, we cannot find ourselves in the place
where we're bitter in just inviting all these sick sickness
and all these things to attack our bodies. No, let's forgive,
(27:21):
Let's be in peace, Let's be in joy. Amen. Jesus
cares about our souls more than he cares about our bodies.
You know what I mean? All right, let's hit verse sixteen,
(27:44):
and we're gonna take it all the way to eighteen.
Sixteen to eighteen. For this reason, the Jews persecuted Jesus.
Here we go. Now, this is the first time we
really run into this word in the Book of John
and is never going to stop. These people were angry
(28:10):
that this man was carrying his bed on the Sabbath.
He broke the sabbath law, and Jesus was the cause.
To fifteen, the man departed and told the Jews it
was Jesus who made him well, and they were upset
(28:32):
at that verse sixteen for liuason. The Jews persecuted Jesus
and sought to kill him. Wow, like they went straight
to They went from from one to one hundred like instantly.
They didn't try to investigate, They didn't try to give
(28:52):
him a chance to explain himself, they didn't try to
figure out what was going on. They just said, let's
kill this dude because he had had done those things
on the Sabbath. And Jesus answered them, my father has
been working until now, and I have been working. Therefore,
(29:16):
the Jews sought all the more to kill him because
he not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that
God was his father. Oh wow, See, we can't deny
the deity of Christ. Jesus himself made these bold declarations
(29:42):
that God was his father, making himself equal with God.
All right, let's break this down a little more. He
claimed equality with God. He called God his father. Now
(30:11):
this stirred the religious leader's hatred. This was the fuel.
First they were upset that he broke the Sabbath, but
on top of that, he made himself equal with God.
This blew their mind. Now, when you walk in kingdom authority,
we need to expect opposition. When we find out they
(30:34):
finally realized who we are and the authority we have,
it's gonna bring opposition. Religion fears true relationship with God
the kingdom of darkness. They fear those who have a
true relationship with God, who truly walk in kingdom authority,
(30:58):
those who truly know who they are. We know even
at the beginning of this book, in chapter one, it
says is that Jesus gave to us authority to become
children of God. So we can also say God is
our father. We can also say and walk in the
(31:20):
same type of authority that Jesus walked. But watch out
for the opposition that will come with it. Don't let
it trip you up, amen, Verse nineteen. And Jesus answered
(31:41):
and said to them most assuredly, I say to you,
the son can do nothing of himself, but what he
sees the father do. For whatever he does, the son
also does in like manner. Oh yeah, now this is
(32:02):
powerful what Jesus is saying, y'all, whatever the father does,
the son does. Likewise, let's keep going. For the Father
loves the son and shows him all things that he
himself does, and he will show him greater works than
(32:27):
these that you may marvel. Wow. Jesus just keeps pushing it.
I mean, the wound is already there. He's just pushing
more pressure on the wound, Like he says, you guys
are gonna marvel. For the Father judges no one, but
has committed all judgment to the son. That all should
(32:52):
honor the son, just as the honor the father. He
who does not honor this son does not honor the
father who sent him. Wow. Come on, now, this is big.
These are some bold statements. We got to really work
(33:14):
through this to really understand. This is the reason why
people have a problem with Jesus. Christ. Jesus is radical,
He's bold, and he makes it plain. Jesus is declaring
(33:37):
his divine authority and his unity with the Father, and
he tells him to honor God. You must honor Jesus.
You can't separate the Father from the Son. Now, we
(34:02):
always quote as born again Christians that no one Jesus
is the Way, the truth, and the life, and no
one comes to the Father but by him, hey man,
And that scripture right there gets us in trouble with
(34:24):
most or even all, other religions in the world because
people look at their attitudes towards Jesus today. If you
want to find out if you're involved in an occult
(34:45):
or a false religion, always look at three different things.
Look at the deity of Christ. Who do they say
Jesus is. Do they acknowledge his equality with God, his godhood, state,
his divine authority, And a lot of them don't. They
(35:06):
will say that Jesus is the brother of Lucifer, or
they'll say Jesus is Michael the arch angel, or they'll
say Jesus is just a good prophet, or they'll say
God never forgotten any son. The persecution is against Jesus
(35:26):
and Jesus has this place of honor before the Father,
and one of the main reasons is because of his sacrifice,
his beloved son, who is willing to sacrifice his life
to save the world, whom God loves, whom God created.
(35:50):
And God gave us free choice, and we chose wrongly.
But he was able and willing to make up up
for that mistake and he sent his son. God is
not gonna take it lightly on the day of judgment.
(36:14):
He's not going to really go down a whole list
of sins. Beloved, you really need to understand that the
sin issue has been dealt with, the sin issued. Sin
should not even be an issue. Even when Jesus told
this man who he healed, sin no more. That sounds
(36:38):
like a radical statement, but we got to understand that
when God gives a commandment, he also gives us the
ability to obey the command Why would he give us
commandments and he knows in our own we can state
we cannot keep these commandments. Why would he demand a
(37:00):
life of holiness and separation and sanctification unto him? If
he knows that we cannot live this righteous life, he
gives us the Holy Spirit. He gives us the power
to accomplish this. Everything is in a relationship and connected
(37:21):
to Jesus Christ. We must honor the Son or we're
not getting in beloved. We must receive Jesus, we must
call out to him, we must confess him and accept
them into our lives as Lord. As I've said before
in this podcast, we cannot talk about Jesus or witness
(37:46):
about him without getting a response from the people. People
need to respond to Jesus. We need to ask them
have you accepted Christ as Lord? Because if you have not,
you've rejected him. And if you reject him, you've also
(38:07):
rejected the Father. Now, this is a life or death matter.
That will. That is the difference between people going to
heaven or hell because on the day of judgment is
not necessarily that he's gonna talk about all this list
(38:27):
of sin, every lie you told and all that. The
issue is did you accept my son? What did you
do with Jesus? Did you have a relationship with them?
Or did you reject them from your life? Hey man?

come to that decision. You need to accept them into

jumping in the Gospel of John chapter five, and we're
starting right here on verse one, and I'm coming at
you from the New King James. All right, so let's

go ahead and jump it off. Let's take the very
first verse. He says. After this, there was a feast
of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Amen, hallelujah.

It's just amazing how the Bible just tracks all the
movements and the activities of Jesus Christ. Because Jesus is
the center of everything. Jesus is the creator. Jesus is
the object of creation. He created all things for his
(07:34):
own pleasure. And so we need a heart, we need
a spirit, We need the sensitivity of the spirit to
be sensitive to the movements of Jesus in our lives. Amen. Now,
this feast could have been either the Passover or maybe
(07:59):
another Pilgrim feasts. They had multiple feasts where the whole
nation would come and gather in Jerusalem. Amen, almost like
a family reunion. How awesome would that be if America
would do this, if we would have a feast to
where we would all gather as a nation and come
(08:23):
together as one. But the focus is not on the
feast itself, It's on Jesus and the work of Jesus
Christ in the midst. Sometimes we focus on events, but
Jesus brings the real purpose into every gathering. And we
(08:50):
say that again. Sometimes you think the focus is on
the event itself. You look at how many people show
up up, we look at the lights and the music,
and I'm speaking from experience. I'm talking about myself, as
we know, I've always shared. You know, we opened up
(09:12):
of His hot back in twenty twelve and we had
the building for six and a half almost seven years.
We did events every month and some events were packed
out and some events was nothing but empty chairs. And
it's very humbling to have artists come from out the
(09:33):
States and have an empty building. But you know what,
they would steal Minister with all of their hearts because
they knew that God was there. They knew that if
nobody else showed up, Jesus was there and we were there.

He is the focus. And what that means is we
can always He's always looking for us. If we're there
worship being God, then it was not a waste of time. Amen.
And we believe that seeds were planted. You may not

see right now, but in eternity we believe that seeds
were planted. Some plant some water, and some reaped the harvest.
S Amen, all right, let's hit verse two in three.
Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a

pool which is called in Hebrew. But they is done
having five porches, and these lay a great multitude of
sick people. Now, just imagine that it would look like
either a hospital or a lot of people were laid up.

It would have been as like to see all these
sick people that were laid up. And it wasn't just
a few. It said a great multitude. So who knows
how many people were there by this pool? And it
said that the blind, the lame in, the paralyzed, waiting
(11:21):
for the moving of the water. Now, but there's the
means in Hebrew house of mercy. The sick gathered there
because they had hopes of being healed. It was a
(11:44):
place of hope for them. Now people are still gathering
today in houses of hope right, searching for healing, searching
to be touched. But true healing is in Christ Jesus. Amen.

I've heard of people that would go and minister shout
out to the ministers and hospitals and those who go
out to the sick and the shut in as they say,
and minister because they're real and only hope is in
Jesus Christ. Now I'm gonna throw a question out there.
(12:27):
This always puzzled me, and this is just me. This
is just a way I'm thinking, like, Okay, here's a pool,
the pool Bethesda, right in Israel. Here's a multitude of
sick people. And if I'm not mistaken, this pool is
(12:53):
we're gonna read. I believe it's only like stirred once
a year, and only the first person that gets in
it is gonna get healed. Okay, why not make it
so that everybody can get healed and jump in the pool.
(13:13):
All you have to do is jump and submerge yourselves
in the pool. The whole multitude you can jump in
there at the same time. Right, And why just once
a year? I don't know. I just that's just me.
But of course God does things in order and there's
always a reason for it. I don't know. Maybe, well,
(13:38):
let's ask Holy Spirit, can you give us revelation and
just break it down why it was set up that way?
And we would love to get that revelation before the
end of this podcast, But Lord mayor will be done,
because I don't know. I'm asking the Holy Spirit. Why
(13:58):
was it set up that way? How come they everybody
couldn't just jump in? Amen? Well, let's listen for the
answer as we continue in these scriptures, and let's see Hallelujah,
where are we? We are? We just finished two and three,

all right, so let's go to four, five and six. Amen.
For Yeah, that's all I was just saying. For an
angel went down at a certain time into the pool
(14:47):
and stirred up the water. So maybe it's more than
just once a year, but it was a certain time
that an angel. And I'm wondering who is this angel?
Obviously it was an angel of healing possibly or something
to do with the water. Then whoever stepped in first?
(15:08):
Now this was almost like a race, and a lot
of these I mean, you got paralyzed people that are there, like,
how are they going to get in there first? After
the stirring of the water was made. Let me see, then,
whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water
(15:29):
was made well of whatever disease he had. Now, a
certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty eight years. Now,
I'm willing to assume that for thirty eight years he
(15:50):
was not able to be the first one. As a
matter of fact, he complains about it. Now. When Jesus
saw him laying there and knew that he already he
had been in this condition a long time, he said
to him, do you want to be made? Well? Wow,
that's powerful, that's amazing. Jesus knew that he had the virtue,
(16:16):
he knew he had the power. He knew that he
was the answer to this man's situation. All right, let's
break it down a little bit. Now, Jesus's question goes
beyond more than just a physical Many can get comfortable
(16:38):
in their brokenness. Many people can get comfortable in their condition. Now,
some really don't want to be changed, right, Some people
don't want to be healed. Some people like the attention
they get, the sympathy they get from other people, the
perks that they get. I remember growing up, you know,
(17:02):
I was Remember I got saved at fifteen, but I
went through seasons of backsliding and some people that I
knew at the time, where you know, we were at
the age where we're just getting ready. We're making money.
People working at the dump and you know, buying cars
and stuff and you know, just doing the thing right
(17:23):
with all their money. But somehow they would get those
handicap stickers on their cars. Why because they wanted to
park their nice shiny car in the handicap They wanted
the best spots in the parking lot, knowing that somebody
(17:44):
who really needs it, you just block this person. And
some people like the perks of it. Some people like
the attention they get. Some people will scam the system
just to get a handicap parking, to get good parking.
And our pastor always says, well, you're cursing yourself like
(18:05):
you're gonna need that one day if you keep playing
with it, you know what I'm saying. But some people
like that. But Jesus asked a question, do you want
to be made whole? And I love that. I love
the fact that Jesus knew that he had the power,
(18:27):
he had the virtue. He is the answer to all
of our problems. Amen, hallelujah. Okay, let's hit verse seven
through nine. Seven through nine nine, let's rock with that now.
(18:48):
The sick man answered, sir, I have no man to
put me into the pool when the water is stirred
up while I am coming, another steps down before me.
So now this has always puzzled me when I read
this scripture, Like, okay, just open it up for everybody.
Like this man was here for thirty some years. Ain't
(19:12):
no way he's gonna be able to somebody would first off,
would have to carry him up there and help him.
But man, just imagine thirty years ago you were the
first person to get in there, like you'd have forgotten
about the citsus. You went on with your life after that,
You're not thinking about this guy. And verse eight, Jesus
(19:37):
said to him, rise, take up your bed and walk. Now,
that is a mighty miracle after all this time, don't
give up hope. Right, it might be a long time
before you get the answer to your prayer. Just keep
waiting on God. This man waited thirty eight years, and
(19:59):
immediately the man was made well, took up his bed
and walk. Al alujah. That's a praise right there, the
work of Jesus Christ, the work of his miracles. Amen.
(20:24):
Now let me see. And that day was the sabbath.
Uh oh, I'm talking about some Sabbath stuff. Now we're
getting we're gonna get into some opposition. Right now. We
(20:45):
talked about how Jesus is the true source. He was
looking at the water, he was looking at the pool,
but the true source of his healing walked up and
stepped in front of him and began to talk with him.
Now Jesus became who he truly is the answer. And
(21:09):
as I said, Jesus is also our answer, our answer.
What do we need healing from? What do we need
help with? What do we need deliverance from? Right, just
shout out the name of Jesus. Now, don't wait on
people or on systems. Let me say that again. Don't
(21:32):
wait on people or on systems. Look to Jesus. He
can change anything, and he can do it instantly. We
don't have to wait. It doesn't it's not going to
take thirty eight years. Right like this man, Jesus can
do it instantly. And as we're going through this chapter,
(21:55):
and as we're reading this right now, currently as I speak,
we our country is in the midst of a government shutdown.
A government shut down. A lot of government workers are
out of a job, or at least they have a job,
but they got to show up and not get paid
(22:18):
for the job. What do you do when you don't
have gas and you don't have a paycheck, but you
got to go to work? Like, what do you do?
What do you do? I can't imagine going to work
and expecting to produce and be productive without getting paid. Right.
(22:38):
We can't trust in people and we cannot trust in systems.
Jesus has an answer even for this situation. Amen, Okay,
so verse ten. The Jews therefore said to him who
(23:03):
was cured, it is the Sabbath. It is not lawful
for you to carry your bed. Wow. Can you imagine
the heart and the spirit behind us? You answer them,
He who made me well said to me, take up
your bed and walk. Oh man, check this out. Religion
(23:35):
cared more about rules than this miracle that they see
before them. I'm only the bat that these religious leaders
walked past this man multiple times within thirty eight years.
I mean, this guy grew up out there. Who knows
(23:59):
how how old he was, who knows his age when
this first happened to him, But he was out there
thirty eight years. They knew that this was a miracle.
They knew that this man had a condition. If they
were more concerned about him carrying his beds hee. Legalism
winds us to the joy of the work of God.
(24:21):
They should have been rejoicing that God was doing the
work in their mist when God moves. Don't be the critic.
You need to be the witness to the work of God.
I would hate to be the person who criticizes a
(24:42):
move and a work of God. I'd hate to be
that person. Amen Us, be the person that rejoices and
praises and God is at work.

It looks like you lost another one.

Where we at verse twelve. Then they asked him who
is the man who said to you take up the
bed and walk? But the one who was healed did
not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn a
multitude being in the place. Afterwards, Jesus found him in
(25:28):
the temple and said to him, see, you have been
made well, sin no more less a worse thing comes
upon you. Wow, that is amazing. Jesus took the time
out to reveal himself to this man. Now Jesus finds
(25:52):
him later and tells him sin no more. Some are
tied to sin, but not all of them. You can't
say that every person who is sick, has some type
of sin in their life is the cause. But also
(26:13):
we can say that, you know what I mean, it's
just I guess it just takes discernment in the spirit.
Here Jesus calls him to holiness, He calls them to
be holy. Healing is not just physical, it's a spiritual element.
The scientists of today, the doctors and all that, the
(26:37):
people who do the research, they're finally catching up to
the Bible. They're starting to they're starting to realize that
bitterness and unforgiveness is the cause of a lot of
sicknesses in the world today. People who refuse to forgive,
people who hold on to bitterness and anger, release negative
(26:59):
type of chemicals in our bodies, and that just eats
us up. The Bible says that laughter is health to
the bones. Amen, we cannot find ourselves in the place
where we're bitter in just inviting all these sick sickness
and all these things to attack our bodies. No, let's forgive,
(27:21):
Let's be in peace, Let's be in joy. Amen. Jesus
cares about our souls more than he cares about our bodies.
You know what I mean? All right, let's hit verse sixteen,
(27:44):
and we're gonna take it all the way to eighteen.
Sixteen to eighteen. For this reason, the Jews persecuted Jesus.
Here we go. Now, this is the first time we
really run into this word in the Book of John
and is never going to stop. These people were angry
(28:10):
that this man was carrying his bed on the Sabbath.
He broke the sabbath law, and Jesus was the cause.
To fifteen, the man departed and told the Jews it
was Jesus who made him well, and they were upset
(28:32):
at that verse sixteen for liuason. The Jews persecuted Jesus
and sought to kill him. Wow, like they went straight
to They went from from one to one hundred like instantly.
They didn't try to investigate, They didn't try to give
(28:52):
him a chance to explain himself, they didn't try to
figure out what was going on. They just said, let's
kill this dude because he had had done those things
on the Sabbath. And Jesus answered them, my father has
been working until now, and I have been working. Therefore,
(29:16):
the Jews sought all the more to kill him because
he not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that
God was his father. Oh wow, See, we can't deny
the deity of Christ. Jesus himself made these bold declarations
(29:42):
that God was his father, making himself equal with God.
All right, let's break this down a little more. He
claimed equality with God. He called God his father. Now
(30:11):
this stirred the religious leader's hatred. This was the fuel.
First they were upset that he broke the Sabbath, but
on top of that, he made himself equal with God.
This blew their mind. Now, when you walk in kingdom authority,
we need to expect opposition. When we find out they
(30:34):
finally realized who we are and the authority we have,
it's gonna bring opposition. Religion fears true relationship with God
the kingdom of darkness. They fear those who have a
true relationship with God, who truly walk in kingdom authority,
(30:58):
those who truly know who they are. We know even
at the beginning of this book, in chapter one, it
says is that Jesus gave to us authority to become
children of God. So we can also say God is
our father. We can also say and walk in the
(31:20):
same type of authority that Jesus walked. But watch out
for the opposition that will come with it. Don't let
it trip you up, amen, Verse nineteen. And Jesus answered
(31:41):
and said to them most assuredly, I say to you,
the son can do nothing of himself, but what he
sees the father do. For whatever he does, the son
also does in like manner. Oh yeah, now this is
(32:02):
powerful what Jesus is saying, y'all, whatever the father does,
the son does. Likewise, let's keep going. For the Father
loves the son and shows him all things that he
himself does, and he will show him greater works than
(32:27):
these that you may marvel. Wow. Jesus just keeps pushing it.
I mean, the wound is already there. He's just pushing
more pressure on the wound, Like he says, you guys
are gonna marvel. For the Father judges no one, but

need to respond to Jesus. We need to ask them
have you accepted Christ as Lord? Because if you have not,
you've rejected him. And if you reject him, you've also

heaven or hell because on the day of judgment is

issue is did you accept my son? What did you
do with Jesus? Did you have a relationship with them?
