All right, now, this is gonna be a great podcast today.
(04:39):
The title of it is Fragrance of Worship. When Love
pours outs, come on Fragrance of Worship. So we're gonna
see some great insight about our love, our devotion and
when we pour out our worship from the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
(05:06):
Now remember this is after the miracle of Lazarus being
raised from the dead. We saw that in the previous
chapter where Jesus wept the shortest verse in the Bible,
even though he had the power, even though he knew
he was going to raise him back up. That doesn't
(05:29):
mean that he's not touched. He's able to do something
about our situation, but he is also able to be
touched by it. He can weep with us, he can sympathize,
he can have compassion upon us, in which I've experienced myself,
(05:50):
the compassion of Almighty God. So hallelujah. All right, let's
dive into it. Chapter twelve, verse one one, Chapter twelve,
verse one, and I'm coming at you from the new
King James. Then six days before the Passover, Jesus came
(06:11):
to bethany where Lazarus was, who had been dead, whom
he had raised from the dead. There they made him
a supper, and Martha served the Lazarus was one of
(06:32):
those who sat at the table with him. Amen, this
is a beautiful sight.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
It looks like you lost another one.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
A beautiful site of worship where Lazareth, who was in
the grave, is now sitting at the table with the Lord.
Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil a spikenard,
(07:06):
anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with
her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance
of the oil. Now this is good. Now, so the
(07:32):
question is.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
What it looks like you lost.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Another one is spikenard. It is a type of oil.
It is in as eibstential oil, as this devination says,
(07:58):
derived from the roots of that. I can't pronounce this
n A R D O S. I'm just gonna post
this in the live chat. It is deep, woody and
(08:19):
musty scent and has been used since ancient times for
it's calming skin, he drading in hair nourishing properties. Hold on,
let me look this up. The oil is valuable used
(08:50):
as perfume. Okay, all right, sorry about that. I know
that that I butchered that pretty good. But thank god
there's a live chat if you guys want to look
it up. I'm gonna post some of it in the
(09:11):
live chat. But I wanted to get an idea of
what was poured out on Jesus' feet, how much this cost,
and the value of it. And I encourage you also
(09:33):
to do a study on it. Break it down for yourself.
But the spiking NRD was poured out on Jesus' feet.
Now verse for it, but one of his disciples. Judas,
a Scariot, Simon's son, who would betray him, said, why
(10:00):
was this fragrance oil not sold for the three hundred
denari and given to the poor. This, he said, not
that he cared for the poor, but because he was
a thief and had the money box, and he used
(10:22):
to take what was put in it. Wow, he was
a thief and he took man stealing from the lord.
Wow wow Wow. But I mean that's convicting. How many
times do we still ties and offering? Right? We gotta
(10:42):
be careful with this, beloved, But Jesus said, let her alone.
She has kept this for the day of my Dariel.
For the poor you have with you always, but it's
me you do not have. All Now, A great many
(11:03):
of the Jews knew that he was there, and they
came not for Jesus's sake only, but that they might
also see Lazarreth, whom he had raised from the dead.
But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death
also because on account of him, many of the Jews
(11:29):
went away and believed in Jesus. Wow, why can you
believe the hearts? Can you believe that this man was
raised from the dead, and they want a plot to
put him to death, like this is a losing battle
(11:50):
right here. Man, all right, that's a good spot right here.
To stop for a second and let's break it down. Now.
The sixth day, before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany,
where Lazareth was who had been dead, to whom he
(12:15):
had raised from the dead. Now, Jesus often withdrew to
Bethany before a great movements of his ministry. Bethany was
a safe space, a place of love and of hospitality
for him. A picture of how the Lord rests in
(12:36):
the hearts of those who welcome him. Right, Bethany represents
peace before purpose. Lazareth, Mary and Martha created an atmosphere
where Jesus was honored. Now we must ask ourselves, does
(12:57):
our home invite the present like Bethany our hearts? Do
our hearts invite the Lord and create Bethany. That's a
good prayer to add to your prayer list, Lord, creating
(13:22):
me a heart of Bethany, a place where Jesus is invited,
not only invited, but honored. Amen, do you honor the
presence of God in your own heart? The Bible says
the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us. So
he's right here kicking it. He sees every thought, he
(13:46):
sees every corner, every crevice, every secret. He's right here.
Do we live like we know that he's there? Or
do we forget about him? And God forbid that he
would withdraw his presence from us? Amen? Verse three. Then
Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard anointed,
(14:12):
defeated Jesus, and he wiped his feet with her hair.
The house was filled with fragrance of oil. Mary's act
was extravagant love poured out on our Lord, extravagant love.
(14:32):
An worship always costs something. It's never cheap. True worship
will always cost something. We don't need to offer up
cheap discounted worship. Now, Mary poured out her future, her savings,
(15:00):
her dignity, everything to show her devotion. When you worship,
does your offering feel the room like hers did? Let
me ask you that again. When you worship, does your
(15:21):
offering feel the room? Will? Worship leaves a fragrance others
cannot ignore. Real worship leaves a fragrance that others cannot ignore.
(15:44):
And that's one thing I love about my home church
church that I attend. They are heavy on worship. They
don't play. They teach and preach about worship, real worship.
We need to be able to worship God. Even in
the midst Amen four and six. But one of his disciples,
(16:08):
Judas is Scariot, said, why was this fray? Wasn't this
frak Why wasn't this fragrant oil not sold for three
hundred denarii and given to the poor. This he said,
not that he cared about the poor, but because he
(16:28):
was a thief. Wow, this is deep right here, Judas,
right here, he represents false concern. Let me say that again.
He represents false concern, a person using a good cause
(16:48):
to hide a corrupted heart. That is sad. Watch out
for the spirit of Judas and ministry. It sounds charitable,
but really, on the inside it's selfish. The question isn't
(17:10):
what's logical all the time? The question should be what
is loving? It's not necessarily what's logical, but what will
reveal the love of God? What will reveal the Savior's heart?
(17:37):
That's deep seventy eight. But Jesus said, let her alone.
She has kept this for the date of my burial,
for the poor you have with you always, but me
(17:57):
you do not have always. Now these are polar opposites
of each other. You have Mary poorn ow true worship,
and you have Judas fighting against it. Now Jesus defends
(18:19):
the heart of true worship. He defended her. The world
will always question your devotion when it looks extravagant, but
Heaven will celebrate it. Let me say it again, the
world will always question your devotion, even when it looks extravagant,
(18:46):
but Heaven will celebrate it. Jesus said that she anointed
him for burial. Now, looking John really covers the last
six months of the life of Christ. It gives us
a magnifying glass of his final days here on the earth.
(19:10):
And Mary was tuned in spiritually when others missed it.
Judas missed it. For one, he was a thief, and
he was thinking about, man, how much money I can make,
how much I could gain for myself if I was
(19:36):
able to get my hands on this oil. But Mary,
representing to worship, she was tuned in. She knew that
the time of his burial was at hand. Some revelations
(19:56):
only come through worship in a place of worship, in
a place where we pour out our whole lives, no
matter the cost, we hold nothing back. That is a
picture of true worship. The heart of Judas represents selfishness.
(20:21):
You're not willing to pour out because you don't want
to die to self. You want to gain. The Bible says,
if you want to save your life, you will lose it.
What areas are you trying to keep alive? What areas
are you holding on to selfishness to where you're not
willing to worship the Lord? Hey man? All right? Nine
(20:54):
through eleven. Now, a great many of the Jews knew
that he was there, and they came not for Jesus's
sake only, but that they might also see Lazareth, whom
he had raised from the dead. And I checked this out.
(21:18):
People were coming to see proof. Lazareth was living evidence
of Christ power. Let me say that again, Lazareth was
living evidence of Christ's power. Now, who else is supposed
(21:42):
to be living evidence of Christ power? That's us, beloved.
Lazareth represents the Church. We were once dead, but he raised.
That's from the grave. When you walk out of your tomb,
(22:08):
people will come just to see the change in your life.
You don't have to convince him. Your resurrection is the
testimony that they cannot deny, even to the point where
(22:31):
these Jewish leaders wanted to put him to death. Wow,
that's bold. Why not just say wow, this miracle, like
he raised someone from the dead, Like why not repent,
Like why not believe in him? Why not say wow,
this man has a great power of God. But no,
(22:53):
you want to go put the dude to death. Not
that I'm trying to be so hard on these religious leaders,
but it exposes the depravity of the human heart. We
could find ourselves there, no matter the miracle, but still
harden our hearts. We are not careful a man. All right,
(23:20):
let's pick it up to verse twelve, and we're gonna
take it twelve to all the way to verse nineteen.
The next day, a great multitude that had come to
the feast when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
(23:41):
to the branches of palm trees and went out to
meet him and cried out, Xanna, blessed is he who
comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel.
Then Jesus, when he had found a young donkey, said
on it as it is written, fear not daughter of Zion. Behold,
(24:08):
your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt. His
disciples did not understand these things at first, but when
Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were
written about him, and that they had to come that
(24:33):
they had done these things. Therefore, the people who were
with him when he called Lazareth out of the tomb
and raised him from the dead, bore witness for this
reason that people also met him because they heard that
(24:53):
he had done this sign. The Pharisees therefore said amongst themselves,
you see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the world
has gone after him. Wow. Like that should be a
(25:14):
sign right there, Right, that should be a sign that
you cannot stop the move of God. Wow. All right,
let's break it down now. We can consider this the
(25:34):
day of declaration, right, the first time Jesus publicly allowed
himself to be proclaimed as king. If you can remember
earlier in the story, if you've been following the podcast
we've talked about, there was a time where they wanted
to make him king by force. They wanted him to
(25:56):
be the type of king that they wanted him to be.
They wanted him to do the things that they thought
that he should be doing. But Jesus slipped away and
he hid himself. I believe there was a couple of
times where Jesus hid himself. He would not allow the
crowd to do this. But at this time, the day
(26:19):
of declaration, it is allowable. This was God's timing the
first time Jesus publicly allowed himself to be proclaimed as king. Now,
this right here was fulfillment of prophecy. For homework, look
(26:40):
up Zachariah nine, verse nine. Jesus entered on a donkey.
Now that's a symbol of peace, not of war. And
the king came on a donkey. He came in peace,
He came humble. The real king of the universe, the
(27:04):
King of Kings, rode in on a donkey because he
wants peace. Don't mistake meekness for weakness. Yeah, I really
want to nail that point in because now is an
(27:25):
opportunity for the world to make peace with the king.
Now is our opportunity to make peace with the King
of Kings and the Lord of lords, because the next
time he returns to the earth in the Book of Revelation,
(27:46):
he's going to be riding on a white horse. This
time he's coming to make war. And beloved, trust me,
you do not want that smoke. This world does not
know what's ahead. If they don't turn, if they don't repent,
(28:09):
and if they refuse to make peace with the king,
it's gonna be game over. Now, we really need to
appreciate this donkey. We really need to appreciate this humble
gesture that he desires to make peace with us. Ay man,
(28:35):
if you're fighting against God, today is your day. Now
is the time for you to make peace. Hallelujah. All right,
let's pick it back up. Where are we, verse twenty
(29:01):
through twenty six. Now there was a certain Greeks. Now
there were certain Greeks among those who came up to
worship at the feast. Then they came to Philip, who
was from that'ssaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, sir,
(29:26):
we wish to see Jesus. Philip came and told Andrew,
and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus. But Jesus
answered them, saying, the hour has come that the son
(29:47):
of Man should be glorified. Most assurely, I say to you,
unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground, and dies.
It remained alone. But if it dies, it produces much grain.
(30:08):
He who loves his life will lose it. Now pay
attention to that, he who loves his life will lose it.
And we have judas is Scario. It as the example
of one who would love his life. It caused him
to be a thief and still out of the very
(30:30):
money bag of the Messiah. And it says, he who
hates his life and this world will keep it. Now,
that's Mary. She poured out everything we consider valuable, everything
that we would fight for kill four. She poured it
all out at his feet. But she will find eternal life.
(31:01):
If anyone serves me, let him follow me. And where
I am there my servant will be. Also. That's a
beautiful promise. Right there, Amen, where he is, we shall
be with him. Also, we can be in his presence.
Even now, it's not just future for women go to heaven.
(31:25):
Even now. You're not gonna go to a church where
the presence of God is absent. Hopefully, you're not going
to join a ministry where the spirit is not moving. Hopefully,
if anyone serves me, him, my father will honor.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Hallelujah.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
If anyone serves Jesus him, my father will honor. All right,
let's go ahead and break this down most as surely
(32:12):
I say to you. Less, a grain of wheat falls
into the ground and dies, it remains alone. That fruit
only comes through death of self. I'm talking about the
fruit of the spirit, alright. It only comes when we
(32:36):
die to self. The process. It hurts, but purpose grows
in darkness. Don't fight the soil. God's planting you for
(32:57):
greater fruit. And say that again, don't fight the soil
because God has planted you for greater fruit. If you
really want to be a fruitful servant in the kingdom,
you have to die to self and we have to
(33:20):
ask a holy spirit. It's all in the mind, right.
A good book I would love to recommend is Battlefield
of the Mind by Joyce Meyer's very good information. I'm
going through this book myself and it's it's revolutionary. Amen.
All right, let's go to verse forty four. Actually know
(33:54):
what I'm talking about Verse twenty seven. All right, let's
go to verse twenty seven. Now, my soul is true,
and what I should what shall I say? Father saved
me from this hour? Now, Jesus is amazing. This shows
his humanity. At times, our souls can be troubled. If
(34:16):
Jesus was troubled, then of course our souls we will
find ourselves in that place. But look at how Jesus
dealt with it. He said, Father saved me from this hour,
but for this purpose I came to this hour. Father,
glorify your name. Then the voice came from heaven, saying,
(34:42):
I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Hallelujah.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
Now that's the Jesus. We see some insight in the
relationship with the Father and with Jesus Christ. A voice
came from heaven saying I have glorified it and will
glorify it again.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Hallelujah.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
He will glorify his name. Praise you Lord. I just
love to get some insight between him and the Father
when they're talking. That's beautiful and that's awesome. Therefore, the
people who stood by and heard it said that it
had thundered. Others said, and Angel has spoken to him.
(35:34):
Jesus answered and said, this voice did not come because
of me, but for your sake. Amen. The thing that
I really love and we can see in the life
of Christ is that he's always considering others. He said,
it didn't come for him, but it came for your sake.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Lost another one.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Now is the judgment of this world. Now the ruler
of this world will be cast out. Amen. And we
could see the damage. We can see the torture. We
could see horble things that came from the God of
(36:24):
this world. And where we're reformed. We are referring to
Satan himself. Jesus answered, the voice did not come because
of me, but for your sake. Now the judgment of
this world. Now, the ruler of this world will be
(36:47):
cast out. Thank you. We need to praise God for that.
And I, if I am lifted up from the earth,
will draw all peoples unto myself. He's talking about the cross.
He was lifted up and he's drawn all people unto himself. This,
(37:08):
he said, signifying by what death he will die. We
must preach the Cross, Jesus, on the cross, the miracle
of the Cross. That is what's going to draw people.
If you want your ministry to grow, if you want
to be effective in anything you do for the kingdom,
(37:33):
preach and teach on the Cross. Hey man, this is
where you'll meet the biggest need of humanity at the cross.
So many victories were one at the cross. We have
so many benefits. At the cross, we meet God, we
are restored back to our father. And it says that
(37:59):
all people will be drawn unto myself. The people answered him,
we have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever.
And how can you say the son of man must
be lifted up? Who is the son of man? And
(38:23):
so they must have understood that he was talking about
his death, because they're saying that the law says that
Christ remains forever. So here's the danger of having very
little knowledge, right, Knowing a little bit is dangerous if
(38:48):
you mix it with a lie or a deception. Say,
will use a little bit of the truth to trip
us up. And it was effective to this crowd right here,
verse thirty five. Then Jesus answered, It said to them,
a little while longer. The light is with you, while
(39:11):
you have the light, and man, we can say that
right now, and we're living in the last days, Lets
darkness overtake you. He who walks in darkness does not
know where he is going. Now, sin has the ability
to blind our hearts and minds. We don't know, we
(39:33):
don't see the consequences of it. While you have the light,
believe in the light, that you may become suns of light.
These things Jesus spoke and departed and was hidden from them,
(39:53):
and man Verse thirty seven. But although he had done
so many signs before them, they did not believe in him.
To whom much is given, much is required. Their judgment,
it says, is going to be worse than the other
cities who did not have these signs of miracles, that
(40:17):
the word of Isaiah the Prophet might be fulfilled, which
he spoke, Lord who has believed our report, and to
whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed. Therefore
they could not believe, because Isaiah said again he has
(40:38):
blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest they should
see with their eyes, lest they should understand with their hearts,
in turn, so that I should heal them. These things
Isaiah said, when he saw his glory, it spoke of him.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
Prothetic word that is sad. When you get to the
place where you can't see, you can't believe. People think
that this is just I don't know. They take it
for granted. Belief in God will not be available at
some point for some people. If you resist even it
(41:28):
says that once the rapture happens, those who rejected the truth,
a spirit of delusion will be poured out on them
to where they will have no choice but to believe
in the deception. We don't know how much a privilege
it is to believe in Christ. I am thankful that
(41:52):
I'm a believer. Amen. For nevertheless, even among the rulers,
many believed in him. Now that's good, right there, many
of the believers. So not all the rulers was hating
(42:13):
on him. Some of the rulers believed in him, but
because of the pharisees, they did not confess him lest
they should be put out of the synagod. For they
love the praises of men more than the praises of God. Men,
(42:34):
how many of us have been here. This is a
dangerous place to be. To love the praises of men
above the praises of God. This will cause you to compromise.
This will cause you to be in a place where
you deny the Lord, even though in your heart you
(42:54):
believe in him. But you are afraid of people. Think
of people in other countries. There's so much persecution going
on right now the world is just not really reporting it.
In Africa, in China, a lot of people are losing
their lives because of their faith in the Lord. Lord,
(43:20):
help us, help us. Lord to not love the praises
of men more than the praises of God. Forgive us
Lord Man. We're thankful that there's help. Forty four. Then
Jesus cried out and said, he who believes in me
(43:41):
believes not in me, but in him who sent me,
and he who sees me sees him who sent me.
I have come as a light unto the world, that
whoever believes in me should not abide in darkness. And
if anyone hears my words and does not believe, I
(44:05):
do not judge him or I did not come to
judge the world, but to save the world. Hallelujah. Jesus
came to save the world. We are thankful for this
king who humbled himself rode on a donkey because his
desire was to save us. He has every right and
(44:29):
ability to judge us, but he has come to save us.
Verse forty eight. He who rejects me and does not
receive my words, this is a memory verse. This is
a verse we need to highlight we need to put
up on the wall. We need to share this with
(44:50):
our loved ones. He who rejects me and does not
receive my words has that which judges him that I
have spoken will judge him in the last day. I
have not spoken of my own authority, But the Father
(45:11):
who sent me gave me a command what I should
say and what I should speak. And I know that
his command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just
as the Father has told me, so I speak. Amen, Hallelujah.
(45:37):
Let's wrap this up. We just went through a whole
another chapter today. Praise God. And right here Jesus really
he is summarizing his mission. Right I have come as
a light into the world that whoever believes in me
(46:00):
should not abide in darkness. This is the heart of
the Gospel. Light came into darkness, and those who believe
walk in life. Jesus didn't just shine on us, He
(46:20):
shines through us. You are now the reflection of the
same light in a dark culture. Let me say that again.
You are now a reflection of the same light living
in a dark culture. That's one of the things we
(46:44):
say about his hot radio is that we are the
light of las Vegas. We want the Lord to shine
in and through us to reach our community. Amen, hallelujah

Know you're gonna make a way to tell me who.
And if it had been nothing Blue, I only thank

Speaker 4 (49:09):
You are listening to the light.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
I've lost this.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
This is the hiss hop radio show. That looks like
you lost another one.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
All right, all right, we are back. That is our
sister kid. Lee Will revealed the snakes. Judas Is Scariot
showed us what it's like to live for self, and
(49:41):
Marry showed us what is truly like to be a
true worshiper, Amen, a true worshiper. That's time for the
Accountability Partners segment. We want to come alongside you with
(50:04):
your walk with the Lord. Hopefully you have someone in
your life, a pastor, a mentor, a parent, a leader
in the church, a small group. Maybe you know you
can treat this podcast like a small group, right because
most churches, especially large churches, you get so big to
(50:25):
where you feel lost in a crowd. But there's also
churches they have small groups that they can reach and
touch you on a personal level. It's very beneficial people
open up their homes join these small groups, or you
can really deal with issues and get personal and get
(50:48):
that person want to want help. Well, this is your
small group podcasts. You know what I'm saying, your small
group radio station. So what you want to do is
on that his hot radio app. Go to the top left,
drop down me and you go to my podcast, go
to podcasts, go to his Hot Radio podcasts, or right
(51:09):
there there's an accountability Partner link. Go ahead and just
go through it. It's good for just doing a self check,
especially if you're trying to get over some besetting sin.
It could be alcohol, drugs, sex, glut me whatever, whatever
it may be. And what helps is when you have
(51:32):
someone to help you be held accountable, someone that will
check on you and say, hey, have you resistant temptation today?
How is your disciplines? You know, how is your walk
with the Lord? And when you know you have somebody
like that in your life, that will help you because
you don't want to say, oh, man, you know I
messed up, or you don't want to be hiding right.
(51:53):
You got to have integrity. You gotta be honest if
you truly want to change and get people that love you,
people want to see you. Make it right. Now. You
can fill that out and then you can request a
follow up and myself or someone from his high team
will hit you up either by text or email or
(52:16):
maybe a call and pray with you and help you
walk through it and to get the victory and to
maintain it. It is one thing. It's one thing to
get prayed for it and go back to that life.
It's another thing to get prayed for and learn how
to maintain develop new habits, new godly disciplines so that
(52:36):
you can go to even greater heights in your faith. Amen.
That's our purpose. And so here is the challenge and
the question today is what the last time your worship
cost you something? Did it cost you your time? Did
it cost you your pride? Did you have to humble yourself?
(52:57):
Did it cost you some comfort? What oil are you
holding back from God? Now? Encourage your accountability partner this
week to step into a worship moment that's all in,
no holding back. It's time to go all in, beloved.
It's time to be like Mary and pour out our
(53:21):
worship up on our King Amen. Another one, Now, a
quick update. I want to let you know that his

(54:50):
champ on the trivia. Sometimes he doesn't even answer the
question because he waits to see who else is going
to answer the question. Right, all right, So here's your
chance to get on the board. Today's trivia is what
city did Jesus retreat to before his triumphal entry in Jerusalem?
(55:13):

to before his triumphal entering into Jerusalem?
