today we're gonna dive deep into John chapter five. We're
gonna start off in verse twenty three. We're actually gonna

(04:21):
finish the book. We're gonna go through twenty three to
twenty four. This message is entitled Honoring the Sun. We're
gonna see what it means and what it looks like
to honor the Son today. So grab your bibles. We're
gonna read it from the new King James version. We're
gonna break it down verse by verse. We're gonna give

(04:43):
you some insight, some revelations. So let's go before the
Father in prayer. Emily, Father, we come before you. We
allow you, Oh God, to have full rain. Oh God,
use my voice, use my words to teach this chapter
give us insight, give us understanding. And Father, we send

(05:05):
this out to every platform, to every person, Oh God
that needs to hear, that is supposed to hear, Oh God,
Oh Lord. Let them click the link, let them click play,
let them find this podcast. And I pray Lord that
it will bless each and everyone under the sound of
my voice, and Guy's people said, Amen, hallelujah. Okay, So

(05:33):
this is the gospel to John. We're breaking it down.
John wrote this book so that we may believe in
the Son, that we may believe that Jesus is the Messiah.
Jesus just did a miracle. He healed a layman, told
him to take up his bed and walk. For this
upset the religious leaders of the day, the Pharisees, the

(05:57):
sad you Sees. They were even ready to kill Jesus
for this one incident in their eyes, this one miracle.
So Jesus is confronting the crowd. He's confronting them, He's
letting them know that when his father works, he works
he has to please God, not man. Hallelujah. And so

(06:21):
we're gonna look at what does it mean to honor
the Son, to acknowledge him. As we go through this chapter,
so verse twenty three, and it says that all should

(06:42):
honor the son just as a honor the father. He
who does not honor the son does not honor the father.
Now this reminds us that this verse declares the equality
between the father and the son. To honor one is

(07:06):
to honor the other. Jesus isn't just a good teacher
or a good prophet. He is divine. He is the
son of God. He is in We call him the
second person of the Godhead. And the Jews understood this

(07:28):
claim that when Jesus said it, the Jews knew exactly
what he was claiming to be, or should I say
who he is claiming to be, which they accused him
of blasphemy. Now this verse, you can say, is just
a mic drop. Jesus sets it straight for everyone. If

(07:50):
you reject him, you are going to reject God. You're
rejecting God. At the same time, you see a lot
of folks today claim to believe in God but deny
Jesus Christ, which is you can't do you can't do that.
You can't have one without the other. Honoring Jesus is

(08:11):
the key to truly knowing the Father. Amen Hallelujah, Verse
twenty four. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who
hears my words and believes in Him who sent me
has everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but

(08:38):
has passed from death to life. Now look at these claims.
These are bold claims. You cannot play around with Jesus Christ.
You cannot make them something that he's not. As he
reveals himself in Scripture, one of the most beautiful promises

(09:02):
in the Bible. Believing is not just an intellectual agreement
with Jesus. Believing it brings us to trust, and it
brings us to surrender. When you believe, eternal life begins immediately.
You don't have to wait until you get into heaven.

(09:24):
You pass from death to life, and it happens instantly.
It's happening right now. That's the transformation. You're not waiting
for eternity. It's already started. Believer walks. The believer walks

(09:47):
in newness of life. Now the chains are broken. Don't
live like the old you when Christ already made you new. Amen.
Let me say that again. Don't live like the old

(10:07):
you when Jesus Christ has already made you new. Amen.
All right? Verse twenty five. Most assuredly, we're gonna take
twenty five to twenty nine.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Looks like you lost another one.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming,
and now is when the dead will hear the voice
of the Son of God, and those who here will live.
But as the Father has life in himself, so he
has granted the Son to have life in himself and

(10:52):
has given him authority to execute judgment. Also because he
is a son of Hallelujah, do not marvel at this,
for the hour is coming in which all who are
in the graves will hear his voice, and come forth,

(11:12):
those who have done good to the resurrection of life,
and those who've done evil to the resurrection of condemnation. Wow. Oh,
that's deep. Let's break this down real quick. The hour
is coming, and now is when the dead will hear

(11:33):
the voice of the Son of God, and those who
hear will live. Now this speaks both of spiritual resurrection
salvation now and physical resurrection the end times. Those who
are spiritually dead can hear Christ's voice today to live,

(12:00):
but later all in the graves will hear his voice,
some to ever lasting life, others to everlasting kind. Of nation.
Now this really hits hard. Everyone will hear his voice
eventually everyone. The question is will you respond now while

(12:23):
there's still time.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
One.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
When Jesus speaks the dead things come to life. You
say that again. When Jesus speaks, dead things come to life.
That's resurrection power. And I would encourage you to listen
to his voice now because you don't want to listen

(12:46):
to it. Ignore his voice and then hear it later
after you pass away. It'll be too late. Then, amen,
let's go thirty to thirty two. I can of myself
do nothing as I hear. I judge, and my judgment

(13:08):
is righteous because I do not speak my own will,
but the will of the Father who sent me. If
I bear a witness of myself, my witness is not true. Hey, man,
that's good. I can of myself do nothing. My judgment

(13:32):
is righteous because I do not speak my own will,
but the will of the Father who sent me. Jesus
shows complete submission to the Father. His equality with God
doesn't mean independence from God. It means perfect unity. His

(13:59):
judgment is righteous because it is aligned with the Father's will.
Even Jesus' model obedience, He's showing us how to walk
in divine alignment. Let me say this again. He is

(14:20):
showing us how to walk in divine alignment. We are
to be humble, we are to be surrendered and to
be spirit led. That is the real secret of living
in power. This is the true secret of the Christian life.

(14:45):
We have to live and align ourselves with the will
of the Father. We must be humble, we must be
surrendered and to be spirit led. Amen, that's a podcast
within itself. Allelujah, help us to dig into that Father,

(15:06):
all right. Verse thirty three to thirty five. You have
you have sent to John, and he has born witness
to the truth. Yet I do not receive yet, Yet
I do not receive testimony from men. Excuse me there,

(15:31):
how to get my tongue going here? But I say
these things that you may be saved. He was the
burning and shining lamp, and for a while, and for
a time you were willing to rejoice for a time

(15:53):
in his life. But I have the greater witness than
John's for the war which the Father has given me
to finish. The very works that I do bear witness
of me that the Father has sent me. Okay, I
just read a little further on that all right. It

(16:18):
says you have sent to John, and he bore witness
of the truth. He was the burning and shining lamp
that you were willing for a time to rejoice in
his light. That's actually kind of sad, right. The religious

(16:43):
leaders accepted John the Baptist for a while, but they
ended up rejecting his message when it pointed to Jesus.
John's role was to prepare the way they refuse to
follow in the direction that he was pointing. Sometimes people

(17:09):
will rejoice in the light show of revival, but not
the repentance that it's it calls for. Don't just admire
the flame, let it ignite in your soul, amen. Verse

(17:37):
thirty six through thirty eight, it says, it works, which
the Father has given me to finish, or witness of me.
Jesus's miracles proved his divine mission. Now the Father testified

(17:57):
of him both through screen. It works, yet the Pharisees,
blinded by religion, could not see it. You can be
around the miracles and still miss Jesus if your heart
isn't open. That is sad, and that is scary. You

(18:24):
could be in a place where God is working and
you take it for granted, and you could still miss it.
The evidence is there. The question is do you believe.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
It looks like you lost another one?

Speaker 1 (18:44):
All right, let's go to verse thirty nine and forty.
You search the scriptures for in them you think you
have eternal life, and those are they which testify of me.

(19:06):
But you are not willing to come to me that
you may have life. Now, Wow, that is sad. That
is a sad indictment. Jesus spoke on these people. You
see they studied the word but missed the word made flesh.

(19:33):
Now that you thought relationship is empty, the scriptures point
us to Jesus. All right, excuse me, all that was
my own alarm. The scriptures point us to Jesus. But

(19:55):
are we going to respond and accept him? They studied,
they missed it. Knowledge with our relationship is empty the scriptures,

(20:17):
they point us to Jesus. These point us to relationship,
not the religion. Yes, they point us to relationship, not religion. Man,
I mean this is deep. You can know Verses but
not know Jesus. Let that sink in for a second.
We can know Versus in the Bible like you can

(20:42):
follow this podcast. This is what we do. We go
verse by verse, chapter by chapter. We can know the
truth and know the right scriptures, but still not know
who Jesus really is. The goal of the Bible is

(21:02):
to collect The goal of the Bible is not just
to collect information. Our goal is to be transformed. This
word is able to transform us, as we say on
this podcast, being grafted. Word is able to save our souls. Amen.

(21:25):
All right, let's finish this out. I hope you guys
are getting something out of this episode. Verse twenty one.
I do not receive honor from men, but I know
you that you do not have the love of God
in you. I have come in my Father's name, and

(21:49):
you do not receive me. If another comes in his
own name, him you will receive. How can you believe
who receive honor from one another and do not seek
the honor that comes from the only God. That's a
good question. Do you think that I show accuse you

(22:15):
to the Father? There is one who accuses you, Moses,
in whom you trust. For if you believed Moses, you
would have believed me, for he wrote about me. But
if you do not believe his writings, he will. How

(22:36):
will you believe in my word? Wow? Now this is powerful.
Let's break this down real quick. If you believe Moses.
If you believed Moses, you would have believed me, for
he wrote about me. Now, Jesus closes this chapter by

(23:03):
reminding them that Moses, the very one they cling to
follow a pointed him to Jesus. Moses pointed everything to
the prophet that shaw come to Jesus himself. Rejecting Jesus

(23:27):
was rejecting their own faith heritage. He said, even Moses
himself was going to accuse him. Jesus doesn't even have
to accuse anybody. See, when you truly believe the word,
it leads you to Christ. Everything from Genesis to Revelation

(23:50):
points to him. Jesus is a thread that holds the
whole Bible together. You can find Jesus in the Old
Testament just as well as you can find them in
the New Testament. As I said in the last podcast,

(24:15):
we have to come to a response when it comes
to Jesus Christ. There's not enough just to have information.
You can have the correct information, but never make that
extra step and belove it. Let me break you down
like this. The enemy does not care how many sermons

(24:38):
you listen to on YouTube. You can read your Bible.
I mean, he does care about that, but we can
read our Bible the wrong way just to get information.
What he does not want us to do is have
a powerful and vibrant prayer life. Why do you think

(25:01):
it's easy to scroll on Instagram and TikTok, Well, I
guess it's called x now and Facebook for five hours straight.
But you can't spend thirty minutes in prayer because the
enemy doesn't want that. I'm thinking about starting a prayer podcast,

(25:25):
you know what I mean, where we can get on
here and just pray together, go through some prayer books
or something. But your prayer life is where you're gonna
forge a relationship with Christ. That's where he's gonna meet you.
That's where you're gonna get revelation and touched and deliverance.

(25:45):
You gotta follow the model of Jesus himself. But Jesus
would get up early before the sun arose and pray.
He would draw away from the crowd and pray. And
we need to bring our flesh under subjection, and we

(26:06):
need to cry out for the discipline to be consistent
in our prayer time. According to scripture. Amen, all right,
let's go ahead. And get a quick music break. I'll
be right back.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
You are listening to the light I've lost us. This
is the hiss hop radio show.

different thing going there, you know. What I'm saying. But
we're back now. This is his hot radio podcast going

(29:50):
through John chapter five. This is powerful, this is big.
Jesus makes some bold claims in this chapter. If you
do not honor the Son, you do not honor the
Father and man. There's a lot of religious rhetoric out
there where people say they believe in God, but they

(30:12):
reject Christ and that's to their own destruction. Amen, let
us not make that same mistake. Our next segment is
the accountability partner. We wanted to help you. The Bible says,
go and make disciples of all men. So we don't

(30:35):
want to leave you out if you are walk with
the Lord, but you don't have a church home, or

someone who could lead you into the right direction. Well,

the Father Amen, honoring the Sun brings honor to our

of people showed up. Now her paintings are hanging up
in people's houses. She prays for them, she puts her
personal touch. Amazing. We will be with Metro Police Department
