This is where we pray for each other. We fellowship,
we meet, and we also hold each other accountable because
(02:05):
this is a narrow world that we're walking on and
we need community. And man, we're actually gonna see that
in today's episode, because we're gonna continue right here on
the Book of Acts and we're gonna go from chapter
twenty three and we're gonna try to get to verse
(02:28):
thirty seven today and that'll actually get us through the
Book of Acts. And you know, now there's a little
side note, right our church is also going through the
Book of Acts, and I was picked to teach chapter
(02:50):
seven tonight. Chapter seven tonight, so keep me in prayer.
It's pretty interesting to hear the Acts at church and
then also follow along here on the podcast, and so
it's gonna be interesting. I'm gonna try to get the
recording and play it when we come up to chapter
(03:11):
seven another one, so I pray that you guys follow along.
I'm gonna give a shout out to Zone III and
Corinth everyone that's been popping up Songbird in the live chat.
We appreciate y'all. We hope that you guys are getting
a lot out of the Book of Acts in on
(03:33):
this podcast, like your share in subscribing, let's go before
Father and prayer. Emily. Father, we thank you, Father God,
for another day that you've allowed us to wake up.
Thank you, Father God, for another day that you've allowed
us to fellowship with you and to seek your face.
We ask for your blessings, your power, and the knowing
(03:54):
tem to fall on this podcast. We ask, so God,
allow it to travel as far as you wanted to go. Father,
bless those that hear it. Father God, we ask go God,
oh Lord, that you will call out of people for yourself,
God ready and prepared for your return. And we asked
(04:16):
this in Jesus' name. Amen. All right. So now in
the Book of Acts, we see the first sign of persecution.
We saw a great and powerful miracle. We saw the
(04:37):
power of the Holy Spirit fall on the apostles. Now
you got to take the Book of Acts. You got
to look through the proper lens. Now the way that
you need to look at it is this book follows
after the Four Gospels, and then the four Gospels. We
(04:59):
saw how the disciples acted and behaved. You saw how
cowardly they were. They were hiding behind doors, hiding from
the Jews. They were locking the doors behind them. And
(05:20):
also Peter denies the Lord three times, and he was
afraid of a servant girl. But now the Book of Acts,
we see a totally different group of people. You see
them now empowered by the Holy Spirit. And this should
(05:42):
be us. Our story should be the same. You should say, Okay,
this is me before the Holy Spirit. This is me
now transformed and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. You
should have the same exact story. So now persecution is
(06:07):
rising up, and let's see exactly how they handled it.
And twenty three, it says, and being let go, well,
let's back up. So they persecuted them, They warned them,
(06:29):
they arrested them, and they told them not to speak
in the name of Jesus. They tried to atimidate the apostles,
but they could not deny the miracle because the man
was over forty years old, so there was nothing they
could say or do to deny that a miracle had happened.
(06:54):
So as they warned them and persecuted them in verse
twenty three, and being let go, they went to their
own companies and reported all that the chief priests and
elders had said to them. Now, let's stop right there now,
(07:19):
They could have went hiding, they could have ran, or
they could have been defensive. Right, But they went to
their own fellowship. They went to their own group and
they deprieveed, they debriefed, and they processed the situation together.
(07:41):
This is why it's good to be in fellowship. You
need that support group. Right, They returned to their own community.
Now that was the first place. We need to take
our wounds and our winds. Right, we need to go
to our community. That's what we're doing. We're building that
up here on the podcast in the Life Chat. But
(08:04):
of course you need to build that up in your
home church. If you don't have a church, you need
to find a church. You can't throw the baby out
with the bathwater. Jesus started the church. Church is his idea,
and we can't say, oh, we're gonna do this thing
(08:27):
without the church. Now, yeah, there's good churches out there,
but there's bad churches, but there's also good churches. As
the Holy Spirit to send you to a good and
faithful church, right, don't isolate with your story. You need
to bring it to those who will pray and praise
(08:48):
with you. We need to be able to testify all
the good works that the Lord has done and is
doing Amen I Verse twenty four. So when they heard that,
they raised their voice to God with one accord and said, Lord,
(09:10):
you are God who made heaven and earth, in the
sea and all that is in them, who, by the
mouth of your servant David, said, why did the nations
rage and the people plot vain things? The kings of
the earth took their stand, and the rulers were gathered
(09:32):
together against the Lord and against his Christ. Amen. Now
this is good. I love to read the prayers in
the Word of God, and I love to pray the
prayers back to God and man. God loves to hear
his word and man now and Peter, I mean when John. Yeah,
(10:03):
Peter and John. When they left and they reported this
situation to the community, their immediate response was to pray.
It was prayer. You can say it was a corporate prayer.
It was loud, it was an emotionally charged prayer. And
their prayer was with one accord. It was passionate. They
(10:27):
go from crisis to victory through the power of prayer.
Do not neglect the power of prayer. A lot of
us go through stuff unnecessarily, or a lot of us
are defeated quick and easy, just because we don't have
a prayer life. That should be the first posture. God's
(10:48):
people don't panic. They prayed together, Hey man, and we
need this more than ever in this time that we're
living in right now and this generation. Amen. And then
(11:08):
in verse twenty five, they begin by praising and they
look at the sovereignty of God. When you pray, start
with truth, right, start with the foundation like they started
(11:39):
with the fact that God is the creator and the
fact that he was a creator, therefore he is in
control of all situation and circumstances. They started with the
fact that God created the heavens and the earth. Sometimes
we have to remind ourselves who our father is. We
(12:03):
have to remind ourselves who our daddy is. He is
the creator of the universe. Amen. And it says why
did the nations rage? In the people plot vain things.
The kings of the earth took their stand, and the
(12:24):
rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against his Christ. Wow,
this is madness, this is crazy. Do you realize this
world's system, this world system is against God as in
rebellion against God. Even David says, why did the nation rage?
(12:54):
Now this quote here is taken from Psalms chapter two.
Now it tells us that persecution is to be expected,
is not exceptional. Scriptcher will help us interpret world events
(13:16):
if we are faithful students. When the world rages, Guy's
word gives us the perspective on what is really going on.
And there's a lot of raging going on right now
in the world. Verse twenty seven, for truly against your
(13:40):
Holy Servant Jesus, whom you anointed both herod and conscious pilot,
with the gentiles and the people of Israel were gathered together. Wow,
they were all gathered together. I mean, look, this touch
is on politicians, this touches on religious rulers, even the culture.
(14:12):
All these forces inspired against our Jesus. It was a
universal The opposition just cross all lines. Opposition is often
coordinated across systems. But God's purposes is bigger than any coalition.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
It looks like another one.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
God's plan, God's purpose. We are on the winning side, Amen,
we are on the winning side. And verse twenty eight,
to do whatever your hand in your purpose determined before
to be done. Now, Lord, look on their threats and
(15:04):
grant to your servants, which all that with all boldness,
they may speak your word. Now look at this. In
this prayer, they give it over to God. They're telling
the Lord to look himself at their threats. They know
(15:27):
that the battle belongs to the Lord. And instead of
praying for protection, which there's nothing wrong with the praying
for protection, but I would be the first to admit
when our position comes against our family and our loved ones,
(15:50):
our church, and our body, the first thing we would
pray is for protection. But they prayed in verse twenty nine,
and the Lord look at their threats and grant your
(16:10):
servants that which with all boldness, they may speak your word.
When opposition started to increase and crank up, they ask
for more boldness, and we need to follow suit. We
(16:31):
need boldness in these last days are in today, love it.
It's not going to get easier. It's gonna get harder
to keep your faith and to walk in love. And
we're gonna pray for that before we end out this episode.
(16:55):
We need to pray for more boldness and boldness. For
what boldness to speak your word verse thirty by stretching
out your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders
(17:18):
may be done through the name of your Holy Servant Jesus. Hallelujah.
They're asking God to stretch out his hand to heal
and for more miracles, more signs, and more wonders in
the name of the Servant Jesus. Now, the Gospel is
(17:42):
not just word only. The Gospel is not just about
speaking correct doctrine or proclaiming what the Lord has done.
(18:03):
But what is to accompany the preaching and teaching is
manifestation of miracles, signs, and wonders. We are supposed to
be walking in power. As it said at the beginning
of this podcast, these men were different men before the
(18:26):
outpouring of the Holy Spirit. These men changed what happened
to them. Power of the Holy Spirit fell upon their lives.
And that we have access to that same power through
the name of Jesus, Amen, verse thirty one. And when
(18:52):
they had prayed, the place where they were as symbol
together was shaken. How is that for a miracle? Amen,
a sign in a wonder The place was shaken, and
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they
spoke the Word of God with boldness. Look at how
(19:16):
God granted this prayer. We need to add this to
our prayer list. Amen, Everything they did. They did empowered
by the Holy Spirit. And as I reflect and look
back at my ministry and look back at my life,
(19:38):
did I go to the Holy Spirit first to get
empowered to do what God has called me to do?
And I I have to say not all the time.
A lot of the times I did things in my
own strength and my own effort. And I've seen things
done around me where people were using programs, their own strength,
(20:02):
their own effort. A lot of failed ministry or ineffective
We've done a lot of events where people didn't show up.
We've done a lot of podcasts, a lot of broadcasting,
a lot of things where you just don't see the
numbers that you expect to see. The question is was
(20:31):
it done in the power of the Holy Spirit? Amen? Amen,
we gotta ask. We got to ask these hard questions.
And I need to take this to the prayer closet. Amen,
Verse thirty two. Now, the multitude of those who believed
(20:54):
were of one heart and of one soul. Now the
altitude I remember they started at three thousand, and then
when persecution hit and went up to five thousand, you
got five thousand people, probably a little bit over that.
(21:16):
In one accord with one heart and one soul. Neither
did anyone say that any of the things he possessed
was his own. To look, selfishness goes out the door.
But they had all things in common. It's beautiful to
(21:41):
love and to share and to give. This is what
heaven is going to look like. If you want a
glimpse of heaven, look at the early Church. They loved
each other so much, the love of the Lord. All
things were in common. There was no competition, there was
(22:01):
no hating on each other verse eiry three. And with
great power, the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of
the Lord Jesus with great power. Where is that today?
Where is that today? Where can we find those who
(22:23):
will witnessed the resurrection of Christ with great power? And
great grace was upon them all. So with great power
came great grace. Hallelujah. These are the things. I'm really
(22:48):
pushing these, this portion of scriptures, because this is what
it's supposed to look like in our life. Amen, I'm
going to be fast, and I'm going to be praying
and for this power. And don't get me wrong, I
know what's happening is on the earth. It is you
just don't see it that much in the United States,
(23:09):
but in other countries the power of the Holy Spirit
is falling like crazy. And thirty four. Nor was there
anyone among them who lacked. Look at that the one
lacked for all who were oppressors of sorry, all who
(23:34):
were possessors of lands and houses, sold them and brought
the proceeds of the things that were sold.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
It looks like you lost another one.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Now, if you had land, if you have property, you
sold it and you gave it all to the apostles
and laid them at the apostles feet, and they distributed
to each as anyone one had need. So this is
in the New Testament. I want to say this real quick.
(24:12):
A lot of people preach against tithes and offering, and
they said, it's an Old Testament thing t persent belongs
to the Lord. But here they gave all, if anything,
if you want to look at the New Testament, they
gave one hundred percent of their proceeds and laid it
(24:33):
at the feet of the apostles. If you want to
get technical, now, it's not required. It's not saying that
this is a requirement. It's not saying that they had
to give one hundred percent, but giving his second nature
(24:53):
to God. Even the gospel itself that God so lot
the world he gave his only begotten son. When God
has truly touched you and has truly done a work
in your life, the selfishness goes out the door, and
you become a giver. And they laid everything at the
(25:18):
apostles feet, and the apostles met the need. And there's
nothing wrong with ministries who meet the need. Our ministry
means sneeze. We've been giving out toys for the last
four years or the establishment of our organization. We've been
(25:42):
passing out toys. We give out food. Actually, I pick
up food from McDonald's every week, their breakfast materials, sandwiches
and stuff like that, and we're looking for places to
drop them off. Like they literally give me two bags
(26:04):
full of food, and we give some to our church.
We drop some off at a men's group, Victory Outreach
one of their homes there. But we have enough that
we want to bless some families and bless some places
and needs. So if you know of anyone who could
(26:28):
use some of this food, hit us up in a
life chat let us know. We would be happy. And
we're actually gonna be picking up more from other places.
We're gonna be picking up some bagels. So as an
(26:51):
opportunity opens up, we want to be a blessing to
the community and help meet the needs of others. That
helps us to open up the door to preach and
teach the word and to spread the gospel. Verse thirty
six and Josephs, who was also named Barnabas by the Apostles,
(27:18):
which is translated son of Encouragement, a levite of the
country of Cyprus, having land, sold it and brought the
money and lead it at the apostles feet a man.
(27:38):
These people were generous, some of these people were wealthy,
and some of these people wanted to support and sustain
(27:58):
the ministry that was going forth in the early Church.
(28:19):
See guy uses encouragers to sustain movements. Be generous with
your words and with your resources. Now, Barnabas his name
(28:40):
matches his gift. Encouragement and sacrificial giving go together. And
he was named Barnabas by the apostles. That's pretty interesting.
(29:04):
That's pretty interesting. The apostles saw something on his life
and they said, you know what, we're gonna call this
brother encouragement. That is awesome. All right, let's go to
a quick break.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
is the hiss hop radio show.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
We done came, wait too far to turn back now,
reala can't wait too far to turn back now. We
don can't wait too far to turn back now. We
can't wait too far turn we came, wait too far
to turn back down. We can't wait too far to back.
(29:58):
You can't wait to be fun turn back can't go too.
Speaker 5 (30:05):
Yeah, like y'all, the ene meter messed up. He should
have took my soul out, my body burned the rest
up now. I ain't finna rest up now. I ain't finna.
I ain't finna Let it all go go let them off.
No were breaking sight goals. We need revite goal. Lay
down your aight, don't pick up your bike, bolls to
night without God, it's what sight.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Don't I know where to go?
Speaker 3 (30:26):
I know who the runs No hour enough for no
hour enough for I love where to go?
Speaker 2 (30:34):
I know who to run to, no hour, not for
no hour.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
We done can't wait too far to turn back now.
We can't wait too far to turn back now. We
can't wait too far to turn back. Now we done.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Can't wait too far to turn back. Okay, might carry
els past on this field. Tell me what Jod said
(31:17):
to me. All of my demons is dead to me.
All of my sins is dead to me. That that
that that that that all them. Tell me what God
said to me? All of them demons is dead to me.
All of them sins is dead to me.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
That that game.
Speaker 5 (31:47):
No, we came for the lossos, not for no profit
or spot. That's colosso walking in the word. The apostles
interpreted the prophets how they see, but their eyes closed.
They ain't even know what they were describing a house,
so they ain't know them words bring life to a dying.
So now I got a r so hard little boy
trying to introduce the play that they got, little boy. Uh,
many messengers preach but did not make it. Many shepherds
of sheep but was not David. Didn't I teach, and
(32:08):
didn't I live in peace? Give to the poem week
scene on every black pavement. So when a boy I
really couldn't work a bunch of gold di because they
just would him for the perse the devil really working
over time, I'm trying to get plenty before the city,
and I hearst I had to go in the hiding.
But now I'm back and reviving. I can no longer
be silent with all that's happening. And when the Spirit
behind it to get me highest narcotics, my faith on
all the old pilot. When I be tapping in it,
I got all of the guidance and only God can
(32:29):
provide it. The Holy spirital invited me on that path again.
I'm coming back again with him demons, I don't see.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Him cuz.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Can't.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Alright, alright, we are back, and we just finished chapter
four of the Book of Acts. We saw the power
of the Holy Spirit working through the apostles. We saw miracles,
signs of wonders which provoked Jello, seeing envy from the
(34:02):
religious leaders the rulers of the day, which got them arrested.
Threatened to be released, and it came back to their
own group reported the situation, and the Holy Spirit gave
them boldness to go even further as a witness for Christ. Amen.
(34:29):
We saw signs of wonders fall, and we see them
now giving all of their possessions, selling everything and leaning
it at the apostles. Feet. That's where we left off. Amen.
The song was our brother herring the lights way too
(34:50):
far to turn back. Now we cannot do this thing
in fear. Amen. Now it's time for the accountability partner segments.
This segment was put on my heart to do because
I see too many of us, as brothers and sisters
(35:11):
struggling in our faith, struggling with sin. We need to
get over it. We need to be victorious. We do
need to live a life of victory unto the Lord.
And I also want to change your attitude about it
(35:31):
because a lot of people they think that they can
sin and be okay with God at the same time,
which the Bible does not support that in any area
of scripture. Amen, is not okay to just sin and
(35:52):
keep sinning and keep falling in a cyclist sin. That's
where the accountability partner comes in. That's where you need
someone who can correct you, who can speak the Word
of God into your life, correct our thinking and our emotions,
our attitudes, our desires. A lot of people are falling
off the cliff because they gave their desires over to
(36:15):
the enemy. They've opened doors and they're playing with demon
spirits and they have no clue they have no idea. Amen.
So if you want to go further in this segment,
go to the app, click on the top left menu,
get that drop down, click on podcasts, click on the
(36:36):
his Hop Radio podcast and then scroll down where you
see Accountability Partner and then right there that is where
they can go over the questions, over the materials and
(36:56):
submit your answer. Amen. And also we give you a
challenge every day. Today's challenge is share one clear testimony
with your accountability partner, a clear testimony, right, one short
(37:16):
story of God's work in your life within the last
month or so. Now practice tell us telling it concisely.
Because your testimony will build the faith of other people.
Your testimony will build the faith of others. So yes,
(37:41):
practice that with your accountability partner and then begin to
tell it to everyone. Get on social media and just
share your testimony. Amen. Also, we want to let you
know that his Hot Radio is a monitor in a

These are also posted in the live chat. The question
for today is what did the early Church ask God
to give them in response to the threats? What did
(39:34):
the early Church ask to give them? Your response to
the threats? Hey man? How do you respond to threats?

can also be that on the app his hot Radio
on all platforms. Now, let's close this out together. Now,
(41:46):
there's some things we need to take away from this chapter.
First thing is pray first and act second. When we
come against opposition, when we come against these situations that
we will be confronted with, pray first, Act second, the
apostles immediate response the pressure was unified prayer. Then after
(42:16):
the unified prayer, then the power followed right. Also, boldness
is learned with Jesus. Time with Christ and time in
community produced courage to witness. When we spend time with Jesus,
(42:38):
that's our own prayer life. And we spend time with
the Body of Christ. That will help you to stay
bold as a bold witness for Christ. And generosity also
authenticates the gospel. When the church share, it's a sign
(43:03):
the Gospel is real a man. When the church is
generous and shares with the community, it's encouraging to the community.
And God uses threats to produce testimony. Opposition often accelerates expansion.
(43:28):
I've said that before that persecution causes the church to grow,
not to be fearful. Right, don't fear persecution. Now Acts
(43:56):
four closes with a clear picture. The prayer that results
empower people who share everything in a movement propelled by
bold testimony and radical generosity. That pattern should still work today.
(44:18):
Let's pray like they prayed, love like they loved, and
speak like they spoke. Amen. Now let's close out with
the prayer. The Heavenly Father become to you in the
(44:41):
mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. When we ask
for the promised Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit, who is
our confident, our teacher, our comforter. Also we ask for
a Holy Spirit power to fall on us, to fill us,
(45:05):
shake the room, and give us the boldness and courage
to be witnesses in these last days. Oh God, I
pray for everyone under the sound of my voice. Increase
our boldness, Increase our witness increase our courage. Oh Lord,
(45:26):
let us lay our lives down.
Speaker 3 (45:28):
We are.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
