Speaker 1 (00:49):
Family, Welcome back to His High Radio podcast, where our
mission is to make every man perfect in Christ. Where
diving deep into the Book of Acts, powered by the
Holy Spirit, guided by the Word, and walking this thing
out together. Today we step into Acts chapter seven. This

(01:19):
is the chapter I had the privilege to teach at
fresh Wing Community Church. The recording is in the archive,
but this is my opportunity to teach it here on
the podcast. This is Stephen's powerful defense before the Sanhedrin.

(01:40):
Now this chapter is loaded. You see truth, you see history,
conviction and the move of the Spirit, and the boldness
that only comes from Heaven. So let's dig into it
verse by verse. The first what I need you to
do is join us in a live chat. We meet

(02:04):
here every day at eleven am Pacific Standard time, right
here on his Hot Radio station. All you have to
do is download his Hot Radio app on all platforms,
Go to the top left menu, hit that drop down,
click on live chat, and it only takes five seconds
to register. Teping a username, email address, and password, and

(02:29):
you are part of the family. This is where we
hold each other accountable. This is where we encourage each other.
This is where we have questions, this is where we testify.
This is where we meet our challenges and where we
play our games. So come on, let's come together on

(02:49):
this narrow road that leads to life. Let's fellowship, have fun,
and let's grow and pray for each other. So quick
shout out to our brother Corinth, who shows up a
brother's own. Three, our sister Quincy misses his hop and
everyone else. If you are new, say something, post something

(03:11):
in the life chat so we can shout you out too.
We've seen some new people log in, but they haven't
said nothing yet, so we want to show you some love.
And with that being said, let's go before the Father
and prayer. Emily. Father, we thank you for another beautiful day. Father.

(03:34):
You've allowed us to wake up, you allowed us to
be in our right mind. You've allowed us, O God,
to walk and talk, Oh God, to see you God
into hear. Father, Oh God. We pray, Father God, Oh Lord,
that we are fully surrendered to you. Oh God. We
pray for your graves and your mercy. O God. We
cannot do this without you, O Lord, So lead us

(03:55):
by your spirit, Lead us on this podcast, lead us
throughout the day at work at school, Lead us in
our relationships. O God, and forgive us for the areas
that we failed. Forgive us for the areas that we
still struggle with sin. Forgive us, Father God, Oh Lord,
for anything, Oh God, that we've allowed the enemy of
God access to our hearts and minds and our lives.

(04:18):
Oh Lord, set us free by the blood of Jesus,
so that we can walk in victory in Jesus' name. Amen.
All right, All right? Well, as I said a minute ago,

(04:38):
this is the chapter that I taught at fresh Win.
And you first hear about Stephan in chapter six. You
see that they tried to dispute him, and they couldn't
resist his wisdom. You see that this was a man
full of faith and full of the Holy Spirit, full

(05:01):
of power. Wow, this is a great man. I would
have loved to be around him and see what his
daily disciplines were. Amen. And we see that this is
the first martyr of the Church. And so that word
martyr in the Greek is market tar from pronouncing it right,

(05:24):
and it equals witness the very thing that Jesus asked
us to be. He asked us to witness for him
all over the world. Amen, So let's jump into it
and let's see what the Word has to say. So
verse one, then the high Priest said, are these things? So?

(05:47):
Oh yeah, Remember they accused him. They accused him of
speaking and preaching against Moses and the law, and that
Jesus was going to destroy the temple. So this will
be his as we jump in here, right, And so
the high Priest gets him to answer for these charges. Now,

(06:10):
let's point out that this question launches the longest sermon
in the book of Act. Stephan does not defend himself. No,
he defends God's truth and uses Isziel's own history to
show a pattern here. Now, the people of God repeatedly

(06:33):
resist the messengers of God. And this is something that
I was breaking down at fresh Wind. We went to Moses,
we went to you know, it's a lot in this
chapter to try to teach in sad and I think
only had like twenty minutes to do so. And I

(06:54):
had a lot of scripture reading, right, And so let's
break this down love further. Now, the Greek word for
high priests is ark chieris ac h I e R
e U S meaning chief priest, the ruling priest. This

(07:18):
was the same religious system that rejected Jesus. Stephan is
standing before the same spirit of religion that Jesus stood
in front of. This is a moment of pressure, the
moment of fear, and moment where the flesh would say

(07:38):
be quiet, but the spirit says speak. Sometimes God puts
you in uncomfortable rooms to reveal the power he places
inside of us. Amen, and I have been there. I
know this feeling. Hallelujah. In verse two, and he said,

(08:04):
brethren and fathers, listen, the God of Glory appeared to
our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he
dwelt in hearing. Now Stephan begins with the patriarch Abraham,

(08:28):
the father of the faith. Now he reaches back to
the beginning, showing the roots of Israel's calling. Amen, and
this is what I also pointed out at fresh Wind. Now,
the God of glory and it means in a Hebrew

(08:51):
hakad ka vod. It means weight, heaviness, honor, and splendid.
He is the God of glory, He's the god of weight.
There's some weight to him, there's heaviness, there's honor, and
there's also splendor. Stephan is saying, before there was a building,

(09:17):
before there was a temple, God's glory was all ready moving. Amen.
Now he reminds him God's presence was never chained to
a location. A warning to religious people who worship systems

(09:41):
instead of the Savior a man. That is a straight warning.
Now verse three, and he said to them, get out
of your And he said to him, get out of
your country and from your relatives, and come to the

(10:02):
land that I will show you. Now, this was the
call of faith. He did not give Abraham a map,
he didn't type it in on his GPS. He didn't
tell him though everything from the beginning. He just says go,

(10:23):
just a command and a promise. Faith is movement. Faith
is also obedience. Faith is leaving that which is familiar.
Sometimes God says go before he explains why we need

(10:44):
to go, before he gives an explanation, he just says go.
Then he came out of the land of the Childeans
and dwelt and hear. Abraham didn't fully obey at first.
He stopped halfway in hearing until his father died. But

(11:10):
God still worked with him a man. This shows the
grace of God. Even partial obedience didn't cancel God's plan.
But as you read the story, Hearing was his father,
and for some reason they stayed in that place. I mean,

(11:35):
Hearing was not his father. Hearing was a place where
they delayed, and his father ends up passing away. Now
have you ever been stuck in Hearing? A halfway point,
a place between bondage and breakthrough? But God still calls

(12:01):
us ford and man, thank you for your graciousness, So God,
because I have found myself there plenty of times. It's
not fun Verse five through seven, and it says God

(12:23):
gave him no inheritance in it, not even enough to
set his foot on. But even when Abraham or Abraham
had no child, he promised to give it to him
for a possession and to his descendants after him. But

(12:45):
God spoke in this way that his descendants would dwell
in the foreign land, and that they would bring him
into bondage and oppressed him four hundred years. And the
nation to whom they will be in bondage, I will judge,

(13:06):
said God. And after that they shall come out and
serve me in this place. Amen. Wow, what a revelation.
Now Stephan explains how God promised Abraham land even before
he had children, and predicted slavery in Egypt, but also

(13:32):
their deliverance. Stephan is reminding them God keeps his promises
even though there may be suffering involved. Now, let's notice
the psychle promise, delay, suffering, deliverance, inheritance. Sometimes suffering is

(13:53):
part of the path to the promise. Don't interpret delay
as is denial. Amen. Now that ministers to me right there.
If it doesn't touch you, that touches me. Don't interpret
delay as denial. Amen, I'm still waiting on God. I'm

(14:19):
waiting on God to fix my mess up. Amen, alelujah.
Where we at verse eight, Then he gave him the
covenant of circumcision, and so Abraham he got Isaac and

(14:40):
circucized him on the eighth day, and Isaac got Jacob,
and Jacob we got the twelve patriarchs. Now circumcision, circumcision.
There was a sign of the covenant. Later Israel clung
to the symbol but forgot the heart of it. Circumcision.

(15:04):
In the Greek p e r t it mean means
cutting around, this symbolizing civilized. This symbolized let me get
my lips to work here. This symbolized cutting away of
our flesh, the same thing that happens in baptism. Through

(15:29):
the spirit, we are able to cut off our flesh. Amen.
But spiritual circ decision. Spiritual circumcision is about the heart.
You can get the reference in Romans chapter two, verse
twenty one. Let me say that again for those who
are taking notes Romans chapter two, verse twenty nine. Why

(15:56):
I say the wrong verse is Romans chapter two, verse
twenty nine. And God wants to cut away bitterness. He
wants to cut away pride, Hallelujah, unforgiveness, odd words, old wounds,
and all fleshly patterns. God wants to cut and circumcise

(16:17):
the heart. Amen, this is where our healing begins. We
have to let things go. If you're holding to bitterness
and unforgiveness, now is the time to let it go,
to forgive that person. Circumcise a heart and add this
to your prayerless add this prayer, Lord circumcised me from

(16:38):
the inside. Let my heart be cleaned before you. Amen.
Only the pure heart will see God. Allelujah. Now verse nine,
into patriarchs becoming envious, sold sold Joseph into Egypt. The

(17:00):
God was with him. Now this is the kink in
the armor. Now, remember Israel, they idolized their fathers. They
always talked about their fathers, but they romanticized it. They
didn't really see their fathers for who they really were.
But now we see how wakeed and bitter the spirit

(17:21):
of envy really is. And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold
Joseph into Egypt. The God was with Joseph. Now, when
Stephen chows Israel's pattern rejecting the very ones God sins,

(17:42):
Envy in the Greek pH th ns equals to jealousy
that seeks to destroy Joseph is a picture of Christ
rejected by his brothers, but chosen by God, and God

(18:04):
was with him. That's the whole sermon right here. Amen,
this is the pattern of the fathers. Now, let's go
to verse ten and deliverance and delivered him out of

(18:26):
all that troubles and gave him favor and wisdom in
the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he made
him governor over Egypt and all his house. Now, a
famine and great trouble came over all the land of
Egypt and Canaan, and our fathers found no subsistence. But

(18:51):
when Jacob heard that there was green in Egypt. He
sent out our fathers first, and that second time Joseph
was made known to his brothers, and Joseph's family became
known to the Pharaoh. Then Joseph sent and called his
father Jacob and all his relatives to him, seventy five people.

(19:17):
So Jacob went down to Egypt, and he died, he
and our fathers, and they were carried back to Second
Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for
a sum of money for the sons of heron him

(19:37):
are the fathers of Shechem. A man. What a beautiful
story in the Book of Genesis. Right now, all this shows.
It shows God's very provision, his invisible hand guiding history.

(20:01):
Joseph's story warns us you can be in a pit
and God be Let me say that again. Joseph's story,
it warns us that we can be in a pit
and be in God's will at the same time. You
can be falsely accused and be anointed as well. You

(20:27):
can be forgotten and God can favor you even though
they've forgotten about you. And man, your situation does not
change your assignment. Let me say that again. Your situation
does not change your assignments. All we're called to do

(20:53):
is keep our focus on God. God is more concerned
with how we respond then what it's done to us. Amen.
We need to respond in peace. We need to responding joy.
We need to respond in love. Be right back.

Speaker 2 (21:15):

so and out.

Speaker 1 (22:23):

Speaker 6 (23:43):
He raised in this manner, raised in this sanders Italian
daily cling to behave in a manner that is worthy
of the call by His grace. We will stand up
it spread the good news until they understand us. I
know the hater ward, but were made for the slanders,
and if they persecute us, we will take what.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
They hand us.

Speaker 6 (23:58):
I think about the Saints that were placed in the
slammer and the mornings that were murdered. As they take
thin on cameras. Their blood is what I used to
paint on this campus. If they were gold, I'll like
set my faith, come here Dowes and praise with my
hands off they think we're scared, So let's put an
axe to that cap. Like the braves in Atlanta outside
the church, trying to feed the and light of earth.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Just a fible first can bring hope.

Speaker 6 (24:17):
To a violent earth well full dozen oulcs when they

Speaker 2 (24:56):
You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
is the His Hop radio shows.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
All right, alright, we are back. That is our brother
Dayton with we Are Not hard to Find. Dayton has
faithfully came out the club his Hot Las Vegas. Shout
out to you, brother, one of our faithful front liners.
We gotta support our people, yo, check them out. Check

(25:38):
his music, show him some support. Amen. All right, So
we're back breaking down acts chapter seven. On our next episode,
we're gonna pick it up. We're gonna be talking about
Moses and we're gonna be looking at this pattern of
ancient Israel. Then let's make sure that we're taking all

(26:03):
of the lessons in right, that we know that no
matter the circumstance, God is still with us. A man
as long as we respond correctly and stay faithful like
Joseph did. Hallelujah. Now it's time for our accountability partner segment.

(26:23):
This segment was birth out of the reality that although
there's millions of people who go to church, a lot
of people are not gonna make it into the Kingdom
because they take the wrong attitude, especially when it comes
to sin. They think that God's grace is there to

(26:44):
give them a license to sin, like they're covered in
their sin and they're comfortable in it. They think that
they can do what they want. They can be disobedient
to parents, they can run away from home, they can
involve themselves into a more relatelationships, homosexual relationships, and think
that they're right with God. They can be as rebellious

(27:07):
and stubborn as they want to be and resist. They're
resisting the Holy Spirit. They're sinning against the Word of God.
I've seen some of the youth just steal like there's
no problem, live like it's no problem. Yet they're in
youth group, they're cussing out their pearans. We need to

(27:29):
pray for this generation, Amen, I definitely need to pray.
We're going to do that at the end of the podcast,
But the Accountability Partner segment is to say, Hey, I
struggle with X, Y and Z, pray for me because
there's power and agreement and it's almost like your personal

(27:50):
alter right. We need to be repenting every minute of
the day. If we're struggling with something and turn from it,
we need to call out the Holy Spirit and be
washed by the blood of Christ. This is not a joke.
God doesn't play with sin, Beloved, A lot of people
are gonna have a rude awakening on that day. He

(28:12):
doesn't play with it. So if you have a secret sin,
if you're watching pornography, if you are treating your spouse horribly,
if you're a wife and you're insubmissive in your disrespective
to your husband, you have to give an account on
the day of judgment. And who wants to play Russian
Roulette with their soul? If you're a husband, if you're

(28:35):
dipping and cheating on your wife, if you're disrespectful, if
you're not loving your wife. Is Christ love the church?
You are playing Russian let with your soul. Whether you
go to church or not. You could be the pastor
and you have a double life and you are deceived

(28:57):
in thinking that you're right with God. This is what
this segment is four Amen. So if you want to
go further in it, if you need an accountability partner,
put on the top left menu, scroll down to podcasts
and then scroll down to the accountability partner tab and

(29:19):
go through the checklist. You know it's good. Allow the
word of God to check you in the places where
you know that you fall short. Ask God to forgive you,
and ask for a follow up. Myself or someone from
my team will follow up with you. Pray with you

(29:41):
and all that good stuff. And also we give you
daily challenges here on the podcast. The challenge for today
is family. What is God asking you to obey right
now like Abraham leaving his country? What area is God
trying to to circumcise in your heart? Now? Write it down,

(30:06):
speak it out loud. Un Lets grow together and call
your accountability partner and pray together in unity. Amen. Also,
we want to remind you that His High Radio is
a monitored in a reporting radio station. We have our

(30:28):

his Hot Nation dot com and submit your music and

(30:53):

sold into slave for how many pieces of silver? Now,
let's see who gets you right in the life chat.
Is it A ten, B twenty, C thirty or D forty.

(31:18):

And this is an eternal investment. Amen. If y'all help
us launch Hallelujah and so you can do that at

(34:23):
his hot nation dot com or download the app his
Hot Radio on all platforms. Amen, Hallelujah. All right, it's
time for me to close this out, but I have
some final comments and I also said that we will

(34:43):
pray at the end of this.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
Now.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Stephen stood bold because he was full of the Holy Spirit. Family,
that means spirit. That same spirit is available to you.
The same Holy Spirit that emboldened Stephan is available to us.
If he feels stuck in hearing, if you feel like Joseph,

(35:14):
if you feel like Joseph when he was inside of
a pit, if you feel like Abraham being told to
step into an unknown place, you need the Holy Spirit's power.
So let's pray, Father God, even at this moment, Father,

(35:43):
in the areas where we feel stuck, in the areas
where we have felt the persecution, Father, and we failed
to respond correctly. We asked for your forgiveness. Forgive us
for being worried and consumed. Forgive us for our murmuring
and complaint. Forgive us for fighting our own battles and
lashing back out Lord God, with the bitter heart. Lord God,

(36:07):
forgive us for a giving ear and listening to the
criticism of God. Oh Lord, give us a shield, O God,
shield of faith, Oh God, So it'll quench the fiery
darts of the enemy. Oh God, Oh Lord, You've already
given us a shield. We decide to pick it up
and use it, Oh God. Yes Lord. We are more
than conquerors through Christ, who strengthens us. So God, Oh Lord,

(36:30):
we release all bitterness and unforgiveness, So God, to those
who've hurt us, So God, those who disrespected us, So God. Yes, Lord,
and Father. We pray for our children, our youth, Oh God.
We pray God that they will repent Lord God from
being disrespectful towards their parents, So God, that they will

(36:51):
repent Father God from acting out Lord, Oh God. We
pray that the seed that has been planted in them
on God, the word, Oh God, that they know or
they should obey and listen to, Oh God, Oh Lord,
that they will fear the Lord their God. O Lord,
that hypocrisy. Oh God shall not take them away. God,
They will not be swept away, Lord God with this generation. Lord.

(37:14):
But we ask o God, Oh Lord, for the people
that we're responsible for. God, that we will be ready
when you return for your bride. You are coming for
a pure bride. Lord, and let us be ready and
willing and waiting. Do not pass us, by Lord, we

(37:34):
do not want to be left behind in this generation.
I apply the blood of Jesus to our hearts and
our minds and to everyone listening to this podcast, and
we ask this in Jesus' name. Amen. Remember it's not
about us, It's all about the Christ in us.

The Brothers Ortiz

The Brothers Ortiz

The Brothers Ortiz is the story of two brothers–both successful, but in very different ways. Gabe Ortiz becomes a third-highest ranking officer in all of Texas while his younger brother Larry climbs the ranks in Puro Tango Blast, a notorious Texas Prison gang. Gabe doesn’t know all the details of his brother’s nefarious dealings, and he’s made a point not to ask, to protect their relationship. But when Larry is murdered during a home invasion in a rented beach house, Gabe has no choice but to look into what happened that night. To solve Larry’s murder, Gabe, and the whole Ortiz family, must ask each other tough questions.
