Speaker 3 (04:50):
All right, all right.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
As I said a minute ago, we're gonna dive into
the Gospel of John. I'm gonna pick it up from
verse forty. There's a lot of great things happening here
in this chapter. This is where we saw the feeding
of the five thousand. This is where we saw the
(05:16):
disciples across the river and the boats, and also the
sea of what was it to see a galilee? So
it's not a river, it's a sea. Also, this is
where we find the multitudes following after Christ. But we
saw how people can follow and chase God for the
(05:41):
wrong reasons. They want his stuff, they love what he
can do for them, or when they're in trouble, they
want him to beil them out. But Jesus wants a relationship.
He wants us to obtain eternal life, and that's.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Only through him.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
He is the only source where we can receive life,
and he is the true light of men.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
And also Jesus gave us.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
A verdict on mankind on the hearts of men, saying
that man will not come to the light because he
loves darkness. And so the Gospel of John is amazing,
it's jam packed with a lot of truth. Now this podcast,
(06:41):
we're talking about the words of eternal life and that
Jesus promises that whoever believes in him will have everlasting life,
and the reality that not everyone can handle that truth.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Not everyone can receive that, and that.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Is very sad. But hopefully this podcast can help us
work through that. All right, So here we go verse forty.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
And it says, and this.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Is the will of him who sent me, that everyone
who sees the Son and believes in him may have
everlasting life, and I will raise him up in the
last day.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
That's powerful. That is powerful. That right there alone is
enough just to praise God, just to rejoice in the
Gospel truth. Amen, if we believe in Him, he will
(08:07):
raise us up in the last day. That's all we
have to do.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Now.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
The Father's will is crystal clear, Like how can you
get that mixed up and jumbled up? Salvation and resurrection
come through Jesus Christ alone. It's not about performance. It's
not about religion or ritual but belief in the Sun.
(08:43):
I love that Jesus gives us clarity right here.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
You know.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
God's will isn't mysterious, you know what I mean. It's
not about faith in other things. It's not about religion.
It's about faith in the sun. If you've ever wondered
what's God's plan for me? It starts right here, beloved,
(09:10):
it starts when we believe in Jesus, and that belief
leads to eternal life and the promise of the resurrection. Hey, man,
God made it simple. He's not trying to make it hard.
(09:33):
He's not trying to trip us up. He made this
part so simple that a two year old child can
understand this, all right, verse forty one and forty two.
The Jews didn't complained about him. Now, why would you complain?
(09:58):
He said that he gives eternal life and he will
raise us up in the last day. But they started
to complain about that because he said, I am the
Bread which came down from heaven. And they said, is
not this Jesus the son of Joseph. Now that's where
(10:20):
they're wrong right there. He's not the son of Joseph.
They didn't understand the miraculous conception of Mary, whose father
and mother we know. How is it then that he
says I have come down from heaven. Now that's a complaint. Now,
(10:44):
to be honest, it looks to be a legitimate and
honest question. Right, I believe God doesn't. Now this is
my opinion in my belief Right, Actually, it is a
word because the Bible tells us to him and to
prove him right in certain instances. But I believe that
(11:06):
God is not bothered by questions like this could be
a very legitimate question, like they saw him grow up right,
he was born of Mary, but they misunderstood. I mean,
it's obvious to say, hey, Joseph is his father, but
(11:28):
they didn't really know the way to God. Now, I
believe where they went wrong is complaining about it. There's
a difference between a complaint and a question. As a
matter of fact, that's your homework for this episode. Explain
the difference between a complaint and a question and post
(11:52):
it in our life chat. Let us know what is
the difference between a complaint.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
And question.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Now they stumbled. They stumbled over the humanity of Christ
and missed his divinity. Family and familiarity can blind people
just because you're from familiar I'm trying to say that
(12:26):
word familiar arriity blinded them. Sometimes people miss your calling
because they think they know you. They remember your past
and not your purpose. Jesus faced that, and so will you,
(12:52):
soul will I We will face this as well. Don't
let that stop your ministry just because they think they
know you. You just because they think they're familiar with
you just because they think you can't. They know your
weaknesses and your limitations. They might count you out. But
(13:13):
don't let man's opinion determine your future and the call
of God on your life.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Hey man, all right, it looks like you lost another one.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Let's go to verse forty three and forty four. Jesus
therefore answered and said to them, do not murmur among yourselves. Now,
I think here's the problem.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Right here.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
They were murmuring, and they were doing it amongst themselves.
If they would have came to him and asked the questions,
I think it could have been a different outcome for them.
And verse forty four it says, no one can come
to me unless the Father who sent me draws them,
(14:22):
and I will raise him up at the last day.
Now this is powerful. I am so thankful that at
the age of fifteen, the Father drew me to Christ
in that Bible study, Amen, I am so thankful that
(14:46):
I received him, and I praised God for the promise
of the resurrection. We can trust in that we can.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Look forward to that. A lot of us.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
We look forward to the day we get that our
dream job, or the day we get that degree or
that promotion. We think that this is like the most
amazing thing that can happen in our lives like this,
there's nothing better than that.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
But you know what, those of.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Us who have been droned by the Father, we can
look forward to that day of resurrection. That's our graduation
day right there, that's our ceremony there because he promises
it right here. He says that we will be resurrected
in the last day. You see, the Spirit, the Holy
(15:49):
Spirit will draw.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Us to Christ.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Salvation is initiated by God's grace. Now, that is so humbling.
We're not here by accident. If you're tuned in right now,
it's because the Father is drawing you. God's grace is
(16:19):
so majestic. I don't believe it's an accident or a
coincidence that you're listening to this podcast right now. The
Holy Spirit is working through this to draw you to Christ.
(16:40):
And once you come to Him, he will raise you
up in the last Day. And trust me, you want
to be raised up. You don't want to be left
in the grave, and you definitely don't want to go
to the pits of hell. It's horrible, heymen. Verse forty five.
(17:11):
It is written in the prophets, and they shall all
be taught by God. Therefore, everyone who has heard and
learned from the Father comes to me. Not that I
(17:31):
not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who
is from God. He has seen the Father. Amen, let's
break this down. Actually, let's go to verse fifty one.
(17:54):
He has seen the Father. Most assuredly. I say to you,
he who believes in me had everlasting life. Hallelujah.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
We just need to praise right there.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
He who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am
the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna and
the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread which
comes down from Heaven, that one may eat of it
(18:28):
and not die. I am the living bread which came
down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he
will live forever. And the bread that I shall give
is my flesh, which I shall give for the life
(18:52):
of the world.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Now this is strong. This is a strong reality.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
So let's go over this. Let's break it.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Downe these people could not handle this. Now what we
see here is Jesus. He identifies himself as the true
source of substance, spiritual nourishment that leads to eternal life. See,
(19:30):
we're so used to feeding our bodies. About how often
are we feeding our souls? Jesus is saying, come eat
from me. He's talking about my word, he's talking about
my presence. Is time to start a new diet, the
(19:53):
bread of life. That's the new diet. That's the new
eating plan. Right, the Bread of Life plan is the
new diet to nourish our souls and our bodies. Now,
(20:14):
this was hard for the Jews to hear. This, This
was difficult to hear. When you come across something difficult,
instead of criticizing, instead of complaining and murmuring, ask questions,
(20:35):
Ask legitimate questions.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Like belove it.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
I tell people straight up, this right here is a
matter of your soul.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
This is something that you.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Cannot afford to take lightly. I would take the extra mile.
I would take the extra step to do an honest
research to dig into it. We're not here to bash
other religions. We're not here to make people look bad
and sound bad and make fun of people who don't
(21:13):
have the true relationship with the true and living God. No,
we're here to provoke you, to provoke you to thought
to independent thinking, critical thinking. This is gonna take some
integrity to really look into your own life and to
see what path are you on. Yeah, maybe your mother
(21:37):
and your dad, maybe your family grew up in a
particular religion. Maybe it's cultural. Maybe they will shame you
and shun you. A lot of things can possibly happen.
People are losing their lives because they're serving the true
and living God. But beloved, is worth it to get
(21:58):
past these difficult another one questions and not complain or
not have a prejudice, but truly do your homework. If
you get nothing else out of this podcast, listen to this,
do your homework. The Bible promises us if we seek,
(22:23):
we shall find amen. All right, let's hit verse fifty two.
The Jews therefore quarreled amongst themselves. Look at them. They're quarreling.
That means they're sitting there fighting. There's a huge debate
and a huge argument saying, how can this man give
(22:48):
us his flesh to eat? Now, this is a ridiculous statement.
I mean, if you really think about it, that's not
an argument at all. Now, this is a good question.
Their problem is they didn't go to Jesus with the
question they're asking themselves. Whenever we take the focus off
(23:13):
of Jesus, it's inevitable we're gonna start quarreling amongst ourselves
and we're gonna seek the answer from ourselves. That's a
huge mistake. We need to seek the answer that comes
from God. If you seek, you shall find. We can
go to God. And there's people that I've witnessed to
(23:35):
over the years and they've had questions, they've had concerns,
and what really trips them up is they keep their
eyes on man. They look at people who go to church. Yes,
there's hypocrites in the church. They look at lifestyles of people,
they look at pastors and all this stuff, but they
(23:56):
don't look further to see the people who are truly
faithfully living life out the people are truly doing.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
This thing.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
And beloved on that day of judgment. You can't point
your finger at some pastor and think that that will
excuse you of your sin and you'll be allowed into
the kingdom. That's not gonna happen. We need to do
our own homework and we need to work out our
(24:26):
own salvation through fear and trembling. Amen. Now, the Jews,
therefore a quarrel amongst themselves, saying, how can this man
give us his flesh to eat? And Jesus said to
them most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat
(24:50):
the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you have no life in you. Hey man, Now these
are some radical statements, you know what I mean? This
is really tripping them up. Wherever he eats my flesh
(25:13):
and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will
raise him up at the last day. For my flesh
is food, indeed, and my blood is drink. Indeed, he
who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me,
(25:36):
and I in him.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Hallelujah.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
As the Living Father sent me, and I live because
of the Father. So he who feeds on me will
live because of me. This is the bread which came
down from Heaven. Not as your fathers ate the Manna
(26:06):
and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.
Now that is pretty radical, Like these people are already
stumbling and getting tripped up, and Jesus just pushed the
(26:26):
pedal to the floor. Like he just keeps expounding on
this point. Now, the problem was they took his words
literally instead of spiritually, Jesus spoke of communion. His body
(26:47):
and his blood symbolizes the ultimate sacrifice. This is about relationship,
not ritual.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Union.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Isn't a church snack, you know what I'm saying now,
so that we can get something to eat while we're
in church. It's a covenant reminder that he gave us
his life so that we ourselves can live.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Amen. We do this at church.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
We eat of the bread, and we drink of the
cup that speaks of his resurrection.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
It looks like you lost another one.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
And his death and his burial all right, verse sixty
through sixty six. Therefore, many of his disciples, when they
heard this, said, this is a hard saying. Who can
(27:59):
understand it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples
complained about this, he said to them, does this offend you?
Speaker 2 (28:13):
What?
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Then?
Speaker 1 (28:14):
If you should see the son of Man a sin
where he was before. It is the spirit who gives life.
The flesh prophets nothing. The words that I speak to
you are spirit, and they are life. But there are
(28:39):
some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew
from the beginning who they were who did not believe,
And who would betray him, And he said, therefore, I
have said to you that no one can come to
(29:02):
me unless it has been granted to him by my father.
From that time, many of his disciples went back and
walked with him no more.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Then Jesus said to the twelve, do you also want
to go away?
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Man?
Speaker 1 (29:25):
This had to have been heartbreaking. As much as Jesus
loves us and desires for us to be saved, this
must have been heartbreaking for him to see this many
people walk away. Therefore, many of his disciples, when they
(29:49):
heard this said, this is a hard saying. Who can
understand it? Many of them low, they walked, They left.
Many left because they couldn't accept a suffering savior. They
wanted blessing. They didn't want the cross. They wanted a
(30:13):
savior that was gonna overthrow the political situation with Rome
and to establish the kingdom. Now here's the truth bomb
on this. Following Jesus will cost you something. Some people
(30:37):
went and follow him because they want the miracles, but
not because of his message. But when you truly eat
of his flesh, meaning you internalize his word, right, the
(31:00):
ingrafted word is able to save our souls. That's when
you will be changed from the inside out. And even
Jesus takes the time. He knew that they were offended.
So he comes back and he takes the time to
(31:21):
explain to them that his words were spiritual. He says
it himself. That's why we can't just take a passage
out of the Bible and twist it. We can't start
a religion and say, oh, we need to eat the
flesh of people, or we you know, start drinking blood
(31:45):
and say well, this is you know, the blood of
Christ or nothing like that. No, this is spiritual, and
he explains it to him. But also he says that
unless it has been granted by him by the Father,
unless the Father draws you, unless the Father grants you,
(32:09):
salvation is not who Salvation is not just an arbitrary thing.
You have to be granted in. Now, there's also another
side to the coin. Whosoever wills shall come to the Father,
sha'll come to eternal life. But also you have to
(32:31):
be invited. You have to be drawn by the spirit.
God is so amazing. Now, does this mean that we
need to stop witnessing? And oh, if God wanted them saved,
then God will save them. You know, We're not gonna
witness or try to win people to Christ. You know
(32:53):
that's not what that means. The Bible says, whosoever cometh
you gotta find that balance.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Then Jesus said to the twelve, do you want to
go away? Where in verse sixty seven through sixty nine? Right,
let me see, Yeah, let's go to sixty seven through
sixty nine. Then Jesus said to the twelve, do you
(33:38):
also want to go away? But Simon Peter answered him, Lord,
to whom shall we go? You have the words of
eternal life. Another one also, we have come to believe
and know that you are the Christ, the son of
(34:03):
the Living God. Hallelujah. It should be a memory verse
right here. We should stick this verse on our bathroom mirrors.
Where else can we go? Right now, Peter, he was
right on. He hit this right on the bull's eye
(34:24):
right here. There's no other source of eternal life. This
is the heart of this episode. There is no plan
B when it comes to Christ. You can chase fame,
(34:46):
you can chase the money and even relationships, but only
Jesus satisfies. Hallelujah, Only Jesus satisfies. All right, let's go
to verse seventy and seventy one. As we finished this chapter,
(35:10):
Jesus answer them, did I not choose you the twelve?
And one of you is a devil? He spoke of
Judas the Scariot, the son of Simon, for it was
he who would betray him, being one of the twelve.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Now even among the chosen there was betrayal. Remember that
proximity to Jesus doesn't equal intimacy. Just because you have
(36:02):
a proximity to Jesus doesn't mean you're intimate with Jesus.
You can be around ministry and still miss the Master.
Let's check our hearts, beloved. Are we walking with him
or just walking nearby? Hey man, I don't want to
(36:26):
be nearby Jesus. I want to be intimate with Jesus.
I want to know him. Only those who know him
will be the ones who will grant access into the kingdom.
(36:50):
All right, the time for a quick music break.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
We will be right back.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
You are listening to the light. I've lost Bagus his
hot radio show.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
I've been down too long.
Speaker 7 (37:20):
It's my time to shine and no God, you'll win me.
Speaker 6 (37:26):
We gonna be just on. You can't have my heart.
You can't have my mind. I'm not losing again. I'm
gonna win this time. Hold it all that, I'm my
bidey alone.
Speaker 7 (37:44):
Only come out back, Hotel to death, only come back.
I made up my mind. I gonna tell him that
I'm no here, so hotel to the devil. Pooh, let's go,
(38:09):
I'm being down. Tell him that I know it's my
time to shine.
Speaker 6 (38:15):
And no card is with me all the page.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Just fine.
Speaker 6 (38:21):
You can't have.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Tet the table.
Speaker 6 (38:25):
He can't have my mind.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
I'm not losing.
Speaker 6 (38:30):
I'm gonna win. Tell h h that's right. Yeah, I'm
not gonna turn back. Yeah, that's right. I'm not gonna
(38:56):
tell him back. I'm going away. If we move, we
already want.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
When he.
Speaker 8 (39:24):
Everybody says, every everybody saying, if you know you're.
Speaker 6 (39:30):
Done, and say.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
I'm going.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
No matter what they said. And when things don't seem
to go your way, who's down a pie?
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Ye, say.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
Yeah I'm doing this, Say I'm gone. Hey, how I'm going. Hey,
let's be I to God, Gussie, oh wait, God, have.
Speaker 6 (40:09):
To try him.
Speaker 8 (40:22):
Come on, everybody, just rock rock rock. You say I'm going,
I'm going, I'm going.
Speaker 7 (40:36):
Snap snap everybody up, say I'm going, I'm going where.
Speaker 4 (40:45):
Where.
Speaker 6 (40:56):
Don't let the enemy trick you.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
It's been confirmed. We have the victor.
Speaker 4 (41:02):
Now you just gotta act like you'ready.
Speaker 6 (41:07):
What two three? See Hon't no, man, don't.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
Go where.
Speaker 6 (41:15):
I don't know? Man, Man, Hon't no, man, I'm going, man, don't.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
Know where.
Speaker 5 (41:35):
You are Listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
is the hiss Hop radio show.
