call of God. Now, the Sadducees were especially upset because

their their authority, and their positions. Anytime God starts moving,
two things happen. People get delivered and demons and religious
spirits get angry. Have you ever heard people say, well,
you're irritating their demons. Well, that's a true statement. These

men weren't filled with the spirit. They were filled with indignation.
Be careful what you allow to feel your heart. Amen.
If you allow jealousy to feel your heart, then the
threatened ego will follow. The apostles weren't arrested for doing wrong.

They were arrested for doing right and being faithful Amen,
Verse nineteen and twenty. But at night, an angel of
the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out hallelujah,
and said, go stand in the temple and speak to
the people all the words of this life. Man, look

at that an angel. We have angels on our side. Amen.
I want to thank Father for my angel. Hallelujah. Sometimes
I feel like I see it sometimes, But you need
to thank God for the protection and the angels he sends.

The fights on our behalf. Amen. So but at night

is divine right the very beings they said didn't exist,

sometimes I think God has a sense of humor, you
know what I mean? It's like, how can they deny this?

in to deliver you. Let me say that again, God,
I will use the very thing your enemies don't believe
in to deliver you. And notice the instruction. Go stand
in the temple and preach life. God doesn't free you

just to be comfortable. He frees you to continue your assignment. Amen.
Maybe you are dealing with the addiction and God freed
you from it. It could have been sex, drugs, alcohol,

or whatever. God freed you from a religion like he
did me in a bad marriage. He may have freed
you whatever situation or circumstance. It could be debt, or
it just could be a bad mindset. God needs to
free our hearts and minds, hallelujah. But he doesn't free

you just so that you can kick it and just
have the best life now. No, he frees us so
that we can get on our assignment. You need to
ask God, what is your assignment in the Kingdom Amen
verse twenty one. And when they heard that, they entered
(09:20):
the temple early in the morning and taught. But the
high priests and those with them came and called the
council together with all the elders of the children of Israel,
and sent to the prison to have them brought Wow,
I'm not assent. I mean, this is hilarious. They think
(09:43):
they're in the prison, they think they got them, they
think they're in control. Right, They're like, you know what,
We're gonna have them brought out, you know what I mean?
And they and well, let me say this. When they
(10:04):
heard that, they entered, when they heard the angel, they
entered the prison early in the morning. Right. They didn't
wait and didn't negotiate with the angel. They didn't complain
about being locked up early in the morning. They obeyed.
I mean I would have too if I would have
been talking to an angel. I saw an angel. When
(10:27):
you are full of the Holy spirit, obedience become immediate.
Let me say that again. When you are filled and
empowered with the Holy Spirit, obedience comes immediately. Amen. Now
(10:48):
verse twenty two through twenty five. But when the officers
came and did not find them in the prison, they
returned and reported saying, indeed, we found the prison shut
securely and the guards standing outside before the doors. But
when we opened them, we found no one inside. This
(11:13):
right here can potentially be a death sentence. Now, when
the high priests and the Captain of the Temple and
the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the
outcome would be. So one came and told them, saying, look,
the men whom you put in prison are standing in
(11:35):
the temple and teaching the people. Wow. It was like, man,
this is just hilarious. It's like God just makes our
enemies look foolish, like hallelujah. And so when the officers
reported that it was locked and the guards were standing there,
but no one was inside. I mean, it's a humane,

humorous situation. God confuses the wise and frustrates the proud,
you know what I mean. The religious leaders lose control
while the apostles keep preaching the word God is fighting
for you. Your enemies can't figure out what is happening. Amen.

And I'm a witness. I'm a witness. I've had so
many people come against me and they wonder why am
I still here? Amen, he fights for us. They cannot
stop your assignment. They can't shut down your influence. Hallelujah.

The apostles didn't sneak away. They went right back to
the most public place in Jerusalem. Hallelujah. That's boldness, bro,
That's like audacity. You know what I mean, ay Man,
That's that's exactly how I want to serve and fulfill
my assign it twenty six. Then the captain went with

the officers and brought them out without violence, for they
feared the people lest they should be stone. And when
they had brought them, they set them before the council,
and the high priest asked them, saying, you did we

not strictly command you not to teach in this name?
And look you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and
instead to bring this man's blood on us. I mean,
and in ten, let needs to read that again, saying,
did we not strictly command you not to teach in

this name? And Look, you have filled Jerusalem with your
doctrine and intend to bring this man's blood on us.
Now you know what, that would be a good thing.
We know how powerful the blood of Jesus is. They
should allow that to happen. Amen. Now, the greatest complaint

the early Church could have received is you filled the
whole city with your message. Man, I can't wait to
hear that complain. That's the goal of his Hot radio,

major doctrinal anchors for Christian civil disobedience. When human authority

contradicts God's word, we must obey God. Let me say
that again. This is the doctrine that backs up civil disobedience.
We ought to obey God rather than men. Now remember,

these men were filled with the Holy Spirit, so they
were filled with boldness. This is the spirit. The Holy
Spirit will also fill us with courage. This is what
Peter didn't have before the Holy Spirit fell upon them.

Now Peter is unstoppable. And I want God to do
the same thing in me, and I want God to
do the same thing in you. Amen, All right, let's
tackle verse thirty and thirty two. I mean thirty through

thirty two. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus,
whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God
has exalted to high his right hand, to be prince
and savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

And we are His witnesses to these things. And so
also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to
those who obey him. Amen. Did you hear that part?
To those who obey him? Hallelujah? I mean this sums

up if you want to sum up our job description.
I mean, this is it right here. If we're not
doing this and we're not living this, we are missing it. Amen.

gives to those who obey. Now, every miracle, every sign,
every confrontation leads to this moment. Point people to Jesus.

it just could be a bad mindset. God needs to
free our hearts and minds, hallelujah. But he doesn't free

have the best life now. No, he frees us so
that we can get on our assignment. You need to
ask God, what is your assignment in the Kingdom Amen
verse twenty one. And when they heard that, they entered

the temple early in the morning and taught. But the
high priests and those with them came and called the
council together with all the elders of the children of Israel,
and sent to the prison to have them brought Wow,
I'm not assent. I mean, this is hilarious. They think
(09:43):
they're in the prison, they think they got them, they
think they're in control. Right, They're like, you know what,
We're gonna have them brought out, you know what I mean?
And they and well, let me say this. When they
(10:04):
heard that, they entered, when they heard the angel, they
entered the prison early in the morning. Right. They didn't
wait and didn't negotiate with the angel. They didn't complain
about being locked up early in the morning. They obeyed.
I mean I would have too if I would have
been talking to an angel. I saw an angel. When

you are full of the Holy spirit, obedience become immediate.
Let me say that again. When you are filled and
empowered with the Holy Spirit, obedience comes immediately. Amen. Now
(10:48):
verse twenty two through twenty five. But when the officers
came and did not find them in the prison, they
returned and reported saying, indeed, we found the prison shut
securely and the guards standing outside before the doors. But
when we opened them, we found no one inside. This
(11:13):
right here can potentially be a death sentence. Now, when
the high priests and the Captain of the Temple and
the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the
outcome would be. So one came and told them, saying, look,
the men whom you put in prison are standing in
(11:35):
the temple and teaching the people. Wow. It was like, man,
this is just hilarious. It's like God just makes our
enemies look foolish, like hallelujah. And so when the officers
reported that it was locked and the guards were standing there,
but no one was inside. I mean, it's a humane,
(12:00):
humorous situation. God confuses the wise and frustrates the proud,
you know what I mean. The religious leaders lose control
while the apostles keep preaching the word God is fighting
for you. Your enemies can't figure out what is happening. Amen.
(12:21):
And I'm a witness. I'm a witness. I've had so
many people come against me and they wonder why am
I still here? Amen, he fights for us. They cannot
stop your assignment. They can't shut down your influence. Hallelujah.
(12:45):
The apostles didn't sneak away. They went right back to
the most public place in Jerusalem. Hallelujah. That's boldness, bro,
That's like audacity. You know what I mean, ay Man,
That's that's exactly how I want to serve and fulfill
my assign it twenty six. Then the captain went with
(13:12):
the officers and brought them out without violence, for they
feared the people lest they should be stone. And when
they had brought them, they set them before the council,
and the high priest asked them, saying, you did we
(13:34):
not strictly command you not to teach in this name?
And look you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and
instead to bring this man's blood on us. I mean,
and in ten, let needs to read that again, saying,
did we not strictly command you not to teach in
(13:58):
this name? And Look, you have filled Jerusalem with your
doctrine and intend to bring this man's blood on us.
Now you know what, that would be a good thing.
We know how powerful the blood of Jesus is. They
should allow that to happen. Amen. Now, the greatest complaint
(14:34):
the early Church could have received is you filled the
whole city with your message. Man, I can't wait to
hear that complain. That's the goal of his Hot radio,

and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to

He doesn't back up like they accused him of this,

But Peter and the other apostles answered it said, we

ought to obey God rather than man, one of the
major doctrinal anchors for Christian civil disobedience. When human authority

contradicts God's word, we must obey God. Let me say
that again. This is the doctrine that backs up civil disobedience.
We ought to obey God rather than men. Now remember,

these men were filled with the Holy Spirit, so they
were filled with boldness. This is the spirit. The Holy
Spirit will also fill us with courage. This is what
Peter didn't have before the Holy Spirit fell upon them.

Now Peter is unstoppable. And I want God to do
the same thing in me, and I want God to
do the same thing in you. Amen, All right, let's
tackle verse thirty and thirty two. I mean thirty through
(17:51):
thirty two. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus,
whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God
has exalted to high his right hand, to be prince
and savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
(18:15):
And we are His witnesses to these things. And so
also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to
those who obey him. Amen. Did you hear that part?
To those who obey him? Hallelujah? I mean this sums
(18:35):
up if you want to sum up our job description.
I mean, this is it right here. If we're not
doing this and we're not living this, we are missing it. Amen.
Peter preaches Jesus's death, resurrection, exaltation in the spirit it

gives to those who obey. Now, every miracle, every sign,
every confrontation leads to this moment. Point people to Jesus.
Peter didn't waste his platform. He preaches the Cross, the resurrection,

and the Holy Spirit. So whenever we run into opposition,
whenever we have that platform, that opportunity, we always need
to be pointing people to Jesus Christ a man. All right,
