A spiritual hunger is stirring among young believers today—not for innovation, but for authenticity. While our culture obsessively pursues the newest trends, there's a countermovement valuing what's proven, meaningful, and lasting. This powerful sermon explores this fascinating tension.

Rev. Enoch Snow takes us on a journey through the rich heritage of Pentecostal revival, beginning with the compelling story of Charles S. Price, a skeptical Methodist pastor who reluctantly attended an "old-fashioned Holy Ghost meeting" only to have his life transformed. This historical touchpoint serves as a mirror for our current spiritual climate where many have seen religious expressions without experiencing their transformative power.

Against our backdrop of rapid technological advancement—where knowledge doubles yearly and trends rise and fall within hours—Bishop identifies a surprising trend: Generation Z shows remarkable interest in vintage items, traditional practices, and proven ways of life. The most expensive possessions in our world aren't new creations but ancient treasures, suggesting that perhaps what's old carries more lasting value than what's novel.

The heart of this message examines a critical distinction between religious expression and spiritual experience. Using colorful metaphors like the "top hat" (which once signified character but became merely fashion) and powerful concepts like giving God "lock, stock, and barrel," Bishop challenges us to move beyond empty religious symbolism to authentic transformation. His personal testimony of being changed from a shy, backward boy to a Spirit-filled preacher demonstrates that genuine encounters with God remain available today.

Whether you're feeling spiritually dry, hungry for more authentic faith, or simply curious about what real revival looks like, this message offers both challenge and hope. The ancient promise of Joel—"I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh"—isn't just history; it's a living invitation to every generation. Are you ready to rediscover the power of old-fashioned Holy Ghost religion?

Speaker 1 (00:11):

Waynesville, ohio, coming to youon behalf of Holiness Preaching
Online.
Today we want to present to youanother wonderful sermon from a
great Pentecostal holinesspreacher.
So, wherever you are, sit backand prepare to be blessed by the
Word of God.

Thank you all, and may God keepyou and bless you today.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
At PFYC this year, 2025, and God has already met
with us in a wonderful way.
And, for those that haveresponded, I was walking around
the altar this morning prayingfor different ones and seeing
many just in tears and the powerof the Holy Ghost falling on
them and seeing God movingalready.
So I believe that God's goingto meet us even in a greater way

(01:04):
throughout the remainder ofthis meeting and bless our
hearts every altar service thatwe come to.
Don't you believe that?
Amen?
I just want to say what anhonor it is to be able to
minister here tonight andappreciate so much for the web
brother Ralston, brother Brimand brother Sanders, and it's a
great privilege to be able toserve with them, appreciate them

(01:26):
so very much and the confidenceto be able to ask us tonight.
We're honored to be here andjust believing that God is going
to meet us in this altar in aspecial way.
It's a great privilege to havemy mother and father with me
here this year and I give myfather and mother honor and
appreciate them so very muchbeing here.

(01:46):
Two of my brothers are heretonight and love and appreciate
my wife and family.
So thankful for them and givehonor to my pastor tonight for
being here.
Just believe in God's going tominister to every one of us.
So many different churches.
But I know that we're at PFYCand you know Charles S Price

(02:09):
tells in his book the Story ofmy Life about how he was a
Methodist pastor.
He was a Methodist pastor and aknown critic of the Pentecostal
movement that was going on inCalifornia.
He had some of his parishionersthat had slipped down and went
to what was advertised as theold-fashioned Holy Ghost meeting

(02:29):
.
One day he was out on the lawnand an individual came up to him
and was shouting Hallelujah, hallelujah, brother Price,
hallelujah.
He shook his hand and looked athim and said what has happened
to you?
And he went into another fit ofhallelujahs as he gripped his
hand, real strong, he said I'vebeen saved, I've been saved,

(02:53):
I've been saved.
He said where have you been?
He said I've been down to thatold fashioned Holy Ghost meeting
.
I've been saved, I've beensaved, hallelujah.
Well, brother Price wasskeptical, to say the least,
until another friend came to himagain to talk to him and
convinced him to go to that oldfashioned Holy Ghost meeting.

(03:16):
He decided he'd go, but notwithout putting an advertisement
in the local paper.
At the coming Sunday in thatMethodist pulpit he was going to
preach a message entitledDivine Healing Bubble Explodes.
He went down to thatold-fashioned Holy Ghost meeting
, got down there.
The crowd was massiveunderneath that tent 6,000

(03:39):
people there was that night, hesaid.
I got there right after thepre-service.
As he walked in, seen just acrowd standing there, nothing
going on.
As he elbowed his way up to seewhat was going on on the
platform nothing going on tohold the crowd he turned and
looked to a gentleman that wastall standing there beside him.
He said what's going on?
There's no program, there'ssomething going on to hold all

(04:02):
of these people.
And he said they're waiting forthe evening service.
Hallelujah, they're waiting forthe evening service.
Charles Price smiled back athim and said well, that
hallelujah business seems to bepretty general around here.
It must be catching somethinglike the measles.
And that man laid his hands onCharles Price's shoulder with a

(04:24):
grip like a vice and said son, this is a good place to get the
hallelujahs.
You stick around here and it'llget you for sure.
Well, I got good news for youyou come to PFYC this year.
This is a good place to get thehallelujahs.
I'd like to see the hallelujahsfold all the way from the front
of this place to the back.

(04:45):
How about you?
Would you meet me tonight?
Let's gather around.
Acts, chapter number 2.
Acts, chapter number 2 andverse number 12.
Acts, chapter number 2 andverse number 12.
When you find it, let's standtogether for the reverence and
the reading of God's Word.

(05:05):
Praise God.
Acts, chapter number 2, versenumber 12.
Through verse number 13.
The Bible says, and they wereall amazed and were in doubt,
saying one to another whatmeaneth this?

(05:26):
Others, mocking, said these menare full of new wine.
But Peter, standing up with theeleven, lifted up his voice and
said unto them Ye, men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at
Jerusalem, be this known untoyou and hearken to my words, for

(05:46):
these are not drunken, as yesuppose, seeing it is but the
third hour of the day.
But this is that which wasspoken by the prophet Joel, and
it shall come to pass.
In the last days, saith God, Iwill pour out of my Spirit upon
all flesh, and your sons andyour daughters shall prophesy,

(06:08):
and your young men shall seevisions and your old men shall
dream dreams.
And on my servants and on myhandmaids I will pour out in
those days of my Spirit and theyshall prophesy If the Lord
would help me.
Just tonight, I want to preachto you on this simple topic,

(06:30):
this simple thought a passionfor the old fashioned, a passion
for the old fashioned.
Let's pray together.
Thank you, lord, for thisglorious opportunity to be here
together.
Lord, this building is yoursanctuary tonight and we thank
you, god, for what you are doneand what you are going to do.
God, we pray that you wouldmove across this place.

(06:52):
Don't leave one space in thisplace unoccupied with the glory
of heaven.
Feel this place.
I pray with your power and youranointing.
I pray, god, that you wouldmake every youth pastor, every
pastor that has brought theirpeople here, every youth leader,
every one that has drove a van, make them an agent of the Holy

(07:14):
Ghost to be an altar worker.
God, we need a great revival inthis hour and we cannot do it
alone tonight, god.
We need the cooperation and theunity of the church.
I pray, god, that revival wouldbreak out In every family
that's here.
Revival would break out inevery church, every youth group.
I pray, god, that you wouldanoint us afresh.

(07:35):
Move in the name of Jesus, bring healing, baptize in the
Holy Ghost, save, deliver andset free and anoint us tonight
for your glory and we'll giveyou the praise for it.
And everybody said Amen, amen, you can be seated.
Thank you for standing for thereading of God's Word the
outpouring of the Holy Ghostthat we started just after in

(07:58):
our text.
This was the explanation ofSimon Peter on what meaneth this
.
What meaneth all this that'sgoing on here in Jerusalem?
The outpouring of the HolyGhost.
That happened in Acts, chapternumber 2.
The Holy Ghost was not a newinvention.
It was not something new thatGod thought up.

(08:20):
As far as the person of theHoly Ghost, this is a new
dispensation, but not a newinvention.
He is person of the Holy Ghost.
This is a new dispensation, butnot a new invention.
He is God, the Holy Ghost.
He is God eternal, withoutbeginning or end.
He has always been and healways will be with the Father,

(08:40):
with the Son.
He's the Ancient of Days.
Amen, that Daniel talked about.
With the Father and the Son.
He's always been and he alwayswill be.
Though this is a newdispensation, this is not a new
invention.
That happened at Pentecost, because you can trace back the
record of the Holy Ghost all theway back to Genesis, chapter 1

(09:03):
and verse number 2.
Bringing creation out of chaos.
4,000 years approximatelybefore Pentecost.
That was him Falling upon theelders in the camp.
1,000 years, 1,500 years beforePentecost.
That was him Clothing Gideonwith power.
1,200 years before Pentecost.

(09:24):
That was Him coming upon Samson, anointing him to do mighty
things.
About 1,100 years beforePentecost.
That was Him anointing Saul toprophesy Amen.
About 1,500 years beforePentecost.
Yes, that was the same Spiritof God, but here in the Old

(09:46):
Testament the Holy Ghost had notyet been given in His fullness
because Jesus had not yet beenglorified.
But after the resurrection, that glorious Sunday morning,
the set time had come.
Pentecost had arrived, not by asurprise to God, but a
fulfillment of ancient prophecyand promise.

(10:07):
Isaiah would prophesy about it700 years before Pentecost and
said that there's going to be apeople, amen.
For with stammering lips andanother tongue will he speak
unto this people.
That is the Holy Ghost promise.
But in Joel, chapter number 2.
800, some odd years beforePentecost, the prophet Joel

(10:31):
would foresee an outpouring ofGod's glory, amen.
And he would say and it shallcome to pass afterward that I
will pour my spirit out upon allflesh.
I'm glad that this ain't nonewfangled ideal.
This is an old-fashioned amen.
It's been from the beginningthe plan of God to pour out the

(10:54):
Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost is not aPentecostal as a title ideal,
it's not a preacher's theology,it's not a movement's made it's
not a movement's made up mandate.
It is God's plan and it isGod's promise for this hour.
What had been shadowed in thefire that fell on Mount Carmel,

(11:20):
that is what's going to come out, not as a shadow but as a
substance.
What had been revealed in thecloud over the tabernacle now is
going to be poured out in agreater measure upon the people
of God.
The prophecy was their promise, the shadow was their substance.
He, the Holy Ghost, had come.

(11:41):
Not just fire on us but fire inus.
Not just wind around us but hisbreath breathing through us.
Not just a visitation but aholy habitation.
I don't know about you, but Iwant that old fashioned Holy
Ghost power.
I said I want that oldfashioned.

(12:04):
I've got a passion in my heartto have that old fashioned glory
of God.
Now I realize that thisgeneration is seeing new at a
crazy level.
We are obsessed with new.
I realize that there's a greatobsession with new things.
Matter of fact, in the last twoyears, 90% of our data came

(12:30):
into existence.
In the last two years, trendsthat used to take years and even
centuries to grow and to becomea norm now rise and fall within
24 hours.
Medical breakthroughs that arehappening today are astounding.
Once it took 13 years and $3billion to map out the genetic

(12:55):
code of a human being.
Now it can be done within 24hours with just $200.
They are saying that ourknowledge is doubling every year
, every 12 months.
With the new technology of AI,they are predicting that now,
within 12 hours, within 12 hours, knowledge is going to be

(13:20):
doubling.
But I'd like to stand and say tomyself and to say to you that
we are still in business becauseof an old fashioned power of
God.
I'll be honest, I still thinkof myself as young.
Matter of fact, I stand flatfooted and say I am.

(13:43):
I'm still young, and about ayear ago, we was at a family
gathering at Christmas and I washanging out with all of my
young nephews and nieces andthey was using all these words.
You know they was talking.
They would say things like capno, cap, sick, talking.

(14:13):
They would say things like cap,no, cap, sick riz.
I mean they're saying stufflike low key, high key, and
they're not even playing music.
They're using terms.
And I'm standing there they'resaying slaps and drip, and I'm
looking at the sink.
I'm standing there, they'resaying slaps and drip and I'm
looking at the sink.
I'm wondering what is going on.
All these new words, this newvocabulary, it kind of got to me

(14:35):
so I thought I'm going to pullout an old one.
Surely they're still sayingthis.
They showed me a picture.
I'd already planned this.
I knew I was going to say it.
I said something that was coolback in the day.
You know, well, it was only 15years ago.
I said it and they just kind oflooked, you know, like huh.

(14:58):
I was like, oh, they didn't getthat.
So I said it again and theystill didn't get it.
And so I said it again and theystill didn't get it.
And so I said it again andthere was just that feeling in
the air Like we're not going tosay nothing.
He's our uncle, you know.
It's like oh.
So I said do y'all even knowwhat that means?

(15:21):
To my utter amazement, everyone of them in that circle said
no, I've never heard it.
I was like what?
This is what everybody saidwhen I was coming up.
Everybody said I'm stillfeeling, you know I'm with you,
you know I'm with you.
No, so I asked all the guys andthen none of them said yes.

(15:43):
So I went over and I keptasking.
I kept.
So I asked all the guys andthen none of them said yes.
So I went over and I keptasking.
I went to every single one ofthem that was at that gathering
and not one of them understoodmy expression.
This is the point that there's alot of things that are changing
, there's a lot of expressionsthat are changing, but there's

(16:04):
one thing that has not changed, and I found some interesting
things with Generation Z.
Though we are changing ourexpressions, generation Z is
possessing a great desire forthe old-fashioned.
It's amazing to me, with allthe things that are coming on,
I've done just a little researchto find out that the most

(16:27):
expensive things that have eversold Is not new things but old
things.
A 500 year painting sold for450.3 million dollars.
The most expensive car thatever sold Was a 1955 Mercedes
Ben.
That sold for $143 million.
An 18th century cabinet just acabinet sold for $36.7 million.

(16:53):
A 1711 cello musical instrumentwent for over $20 million.
An original printing of the1787 Declaration of Independence
sold for $43.2 million and, bythe way, you don't have to pay
that Get on Amazon it's $1.99.
Free shipping for a new one.

(17:15):
But we have showed ourselvesthat there is more value in the
old than there is in the new, than there is in the new.
If you do your research, you'llfind out that millennials and
Gen Z are showing a surprisingtrend that is astounding the
market.
They have shown a trend to befond of the old-fashioned.

(17:39):
We got homesteaders andgardening, preserving food that
is on the rise.
Stay at home moms is on a 25%increase and they say it's
happening in newly marrieds andmillennials.
There is a global market Amen.
For reselling clothes.
It is up 30% Last year forresale.

(18:02):
They said they've done a surveywith Gen Z's and 89% of Gen Z's
prefer vintage clothing and areopen to buy and use older
clothing Praise God, I'm goingto tell you and lifestyles of

(18:26):
the past, not because they'reoutdated, but because they're
proven, they're meaningful andthey're lasting.
Simply put, they're going backto them because they work.
I said they work.
Sixty-five million dollars iswhat the economy says the
antique market is worth and theyare still trying to figure out.

(18:49):
But they say because of the 9%increase in the last year, they
are blaming it on theinfatuation of the younger
generation that wants to go backto the old time way.
I believe I came to Pigeon Forgeon a Thursday night and I'm
looking at some young peoplethat's got a passion.

(19:12):
I said you've got a passion forthe old fashioned Hallelujah.
I know that there's a lot ofthings that are coming that are
being outdated very quickly, butlet me just simply say the

(19:32):
gospel may be ancient but it'sstill active.
Holiness may be old school, butit's still on God's schedule.
The cross may be a classic, butit's still conquering.
The Bible may be historic, butit's still heaven sent.
The church may be traditional, but it's still transformational.
The altar may be an antique, but it's still transformational.

(19:53):
The altar may be an antique butit's still adequate.
I scream out give me that, giveme that old time.
Somebody, help me tonight, giveme that old time.
Religion, help me tonight.
Lord, I want you to notice theaccusation in the text.

(20:16):
These men Are drunk on new wine.
They're intoxicated With aworldly substance.
There's a lot of accusationsThroughout the New Testament
church.
Matter of fact, in Acts You'llfind at least 11 of them that
are notable.
Here they accuse them of beingdrunk on new wine Acts 6, he's

(20:38):
going to accuse Stephen ofspeaking blasphemous words.
In Acts chapter number 16,accused him of exceedingly
troubling the city.
In Acts number 17 and 6,accused him of turning the world
upside down.
In Acts chapter number 24,accused Paul of being a
ringleader in a sect of Nazareth.
In Acts 21, accused him ofpolluting this holy place.

(21:01):
In Acts chapter number 24 and 5, a mover of seditions.
And in Acts 26, he would accusehim of being beside himself and
mad.
In Acts chapter number 19, heaccused Paul of trying to
bankrupt the economy in the citythere.
Amen.
The mockers in this text wereaccusing them of being

(21:23):
intoxicated with ungodliness, intoxicated with something that
was not godly and was forbidden.
Amen by the word of God.
Praise God In Proverbs.
We still stand againstalcoholic drinks.
He was accusing them of beingintoxicated with something

(21:45):
that's worldly.
Woe to the church when theworld's executions are accurate.
Woe to the church when theenemy can accuse us of being
intoxicated on worldliness.
And it be true In this case.
It was not so.
But I'm looking for ageneration that has a passion to

(22:06):
say I'm not going to beintoxicated with the world, I'm
not going to be intoxicated withungodliness.
Yes, you can be intoxicated onmore things than just liquor.
We have watched it in this daywhere we have seen people that
are intoxicated withentertainment.
They are drunk on entertainment.

(22:27):
That's why they can'tconcentrate.
They can't focus on anythingbecause their mind is so
intoxicated with entertainment.
You need to stop beingentertained by what is taking
place in other people's privacy.
You need to stop beingentertained Amen With the
worldly entertainments that theenemy is trying to shove down

(22:50):
our throats.
That's why we feel the pressureto keep it so fast-paced.
We've got to keep theirattention.
We've got to compete withHollywood.
We've got to compete withNashville.
Come on now.
You know I'm telling you thetruth and we're trying to get
you to sober up enough thatyou're not so intoxicated with
worldliness.
God, I know you've come to helpme tonight.

(23:12):
Praise God, entertainment is notnecessarily a sin to be
entertained, but it's whatyou're being entertained with.
What happened to be entertainedwith family time and church
functions, glory to God andgetting together and sharing
communication Besides text.

(23:32):
Come on, hallelujah, amen, youcan get together and have fun.
There's more to entertainmentthan a screen.
I refuse to be entertained by aSatan worshiper, devil
possessed, idle, living devilthat's going to try to make its

(23:55):
money off of the innocent mindsof people because they are on
the devil's team.
I'm not going to be entertainedby the devil's propaganda.
I'm not going to take pleasurein them.
That do I'm not.
God, have mercy here, don'tmake me Amen.
We're so entertained withmurder.

(24:17):
We're entertained with adultery.
We're entertained with cursingand ungodliness.
Do you realize you're laughingabout stuff that Jesus died for?
You're being entertained withthings that sent Christ to the
cross.
You need to be sobered up.
I said you need to be soberedup.

(24:40):
Forgive me for going back to myold roots.
In those old altar service daysRight there at Ida Bell, we had
a plethora of drunks that wouldcome in quite regularly and
they'd come down and start topray.
And those old timers, theywouldn't let us wildfires take
advantage of it.
They'd get in there and say nowlisten, we got to get them

(25:01):
sober before we can get themsaved.
We got to get them sober beforewe can get them saved.
We got to get them sober beforewe can get them saved.
And that's the problem withsome of our churches.
We're so intoxicated withungodliness, oh hallelujah.
We're so intoxicated with theworld, but I come tonight to say

(25:26):
give me that old-fashioned HolyGhost.
I wish I had somebody thatwanted an old-fashioned move of
God in this house tonight.
Since 1984, you have had to be21 years old in the United
States.
To purchase an alcoholicbeverage, an intoxicating drink.

(25:47):
You must be 21 years old.
Yet I am seeing our 13 and 14year olds Intoxicated.
Come on now.
Can't talk, can't listen, can'tgive in.
They're intoxicated with gaming.
They're intoxicated withworldly dresses, dressing.

(26:07):
They're intoxicated with TaylorSwift.
They're intoxicated with popculture.
They're intoxicated with popculture.
They're intoxicated withcountry music.
Glory to God, my God, in thename of Jesus.
You know that reason some ofyou are driving so recklessly
spiritually and reason why someof you are dating people that

(26:31):
you know don't have your bestinterests in mind.
It's because you're sointoxicated with ungodliness
that I feel that old fashioned.
I feel that old fashioned glorythat says God, sober them so
you can save them.
Hallelujah, oh God, oh,hallelujah.

(26:57):
Simon Peter, on the other hand, did not deny the accusation that
they were under the influence, but he just clarified what the
influence was.
These are not drunken, as hesupposed.
They're under an influence.
It's just not the kind ofinfluence you think it is.

(27:20):
It's an influence that camedown at Pentecost, that calls
Peter and John to say such as Ihave, give I thee, and a lame
man went leaping and running andpraising God.
It's the kind of influence thatwhile he spake in Acts, chapter
number 4, the place was shakenwhere they were assembled

(27:43):
together.
It's the influence that putsfire in your bones and boldness
on your lip.
Influence that makes you praywhen others are just walking
away.
Influence that makes you praywhen others are just walking
away.
Influence that keeps you andhelps you say no when the devil
is the one doing the talking.
Influence that keeps youpraising when everything is

(28:03):
pressing.
Influence that helps you makethe right decisions, marry the
right wife, marry the righthusband, choose the right job.
Oh, somebody help me tonight.
It's the truth.
It's the guidance that willguide you into all truth.
Influence that fills convictionwhen compromise is more
convenient.
Influence that helps you livepure when nobody else will and

(28:28):
it's unpopular.
Influence that makes you spiritled when others are just trend
fed.
I want that old fashioned HolyGhost anointed.
I don't care if my hair getsmessed up, I don't care if my
shoes get scuffed.
I'm under the influence of theHoly Ghost.
Notice Simon Peter's answer.

(28:52):
That's from the ancient.
This is that.
This is that.
Simon Peter stood up onPentecost, placed one hand on
his heart and one hand on thepromise and said this is that

(29:13):
blessed is the man who can putone hand on his heart and one
hand on the word and say this isthat not like that?
Not some of that, not kind ofthat.
This is that you can have acertainty that what you have in
your heart Is what was promisedby the old time prophet.

(29:37):
This Is that.
Oh, glory to God.
I feel that passion growing inthis house tonight.
I said I feel it growing.
We are in danger in this hour Ofkeeping the expressions and
losing our experience.
Where we say I'm Pentecostal byexpression or by experience,

(30:00):
I'm holiness by experience.
I almost have to start askingthis Are you holiness by
expression or are you holinessby experience?
I'm sanctified by expression orby experience.
Come on, help me here.
I'm, holy Ghost, filled Anexpression or an experience.

(30:21):
Peter didn't use Joel'sexpression to vindicate some
emotional, ungodly act.
He vindicated what washappening by putting his hand on
both and saying I got theprophecy and I got the promise.
I got the promise and I've gotthe power.

(30:45):
I don't want just an expression, I want a Holy Ghost experience
.
Help me tonight, god.
Oh, glory to God.
Frank William Borum tells in hisbook when Swans Fly High about
the top hat.
He said that in those days thetop hat, when it first came

(31:09):
around, stood for dignity, respectability and honor.
In short, the man with the hathad his life together, his bills
was paid and his character wasvindicated.
The man with the top hat had acharacter, but as time rolled on
, the tragedy of the symboloutliving the substance took

(31:30):
place again, and robbers andthieves and crooks got enough
money to buy the hat, but theydidn't get enough to clean their
heart up.
They got enough to purchase ahat to wear.
They bought the clothes, theybought the costume, but they
never changed the inside.
Oh, glory to God.

(31:51):
There's nothing quite asdisappointing as pulling out
your favorite candy and grabbingthat piece that looks so good,
only to open it and realize it'scontainer.
Only, come on now.
That's all it is is thecontainer.
There's no content on theinside.
There is a generation that'srising up that does not care if

(32:18):
the container looks right to thepublic eye.
Come on now.
They've got a passion in theirheart to say give me that glory
from heaven, give me that oldtime power.
That glory from heaven, give methat old time power.
Oh God.

(32:41):
I went through our churches thisyear.
Matter of fact, one of thebrothers was talking to me last
night out in Rocky Top fromJersey.
I've talked to some and heardthe reports that says we just
buried another one of those firestarters.
We just buried I know thatBethel Chapel, amen, just buried
one of those old saints of Godthat would start a move of God

(33:04):
when nothing was shaken, thatwould pray when nobody else
would pray.
I'm going to tell you right nowwe need this generation to rise
to the occasion.
I grew up with some old saintsof God, some preachers that
would use some expressions andover the past year and a half

(33:25):
two years when I've been workingon this little thought, I've
watched some of the faces whenthey've been said from the
pulpit and it's kind of like mynephews and nieces when I'm
saying my outdated words.
Some old preachers that get upand say you got to give God lock
, stock and barrel.
Oh, come on, anybody ever heardthat?

(33:47):
Give God lock, stock and barrel, amen.
And a few folks say yeah, and alot of us say, oh, stock and
barrel, amen.
And a few folks say yeah, and alot of us say, oh yeah, we
don't have a clue.
Amen, what a lock, stock andbarrel is.
Praise God, amen, hallelujah.
It's like at my wedding whenthey were saying the vows and

(34:10):
they said I pledge thee my troth.
I thought I don't got a troth.
Come on now, hallelujah, anybody with me tonight?
Praise God, you got to givelock, stock and barrel to God.
The old timers would say youknow what that means.
Amen.
It's the lock, the firingmechanism of a gun, the stock
that goes against your shoulder, and the barrel.

(34:31):
That means when you givesomebody lock, stock and barrel,
they got it all.
They've got everything.
It's time for this generation togo back to lock, stock and
barrel religion.
Where God doesn't have some ofme, he's got all of me.
Sold out everything.

(34:53):
I got Delmar G Meadows, brotherSutherland's aunt.
She wrote a book called theIdentity of God and in that
little book a story is told whenGod was using her powerfully in
a service and an old bootlegger.
Come to that service and seenthe Holy Ghost moving on her.
He stood back there and saidI'd give everything for what

(35:16):
Downer G Meadows has.
And somebody went and told her.
She said that's exactly what itcost me.
Glory to God.
And if you want anold-fashioned move of God, it
still takes lock, stock andbarrel.
It takes spirit, soul andbarrel.
It takes spirit, soul and mind.
It takes body.

(35:37):
I'm looking for somebody that'sready to give God lock, stock
and barrel.
Help me, jesus.
Glory to God.
Glory to God.
You know there's a man by thename of Hugh Price Hughes, an

(36:00):
old Methodist preacher Back inthe 1800s.
He was a powerful preacher, became the president of the
conference and one day, when hewas 14 years old, he got saved.
God put a passion in his heartto witness and he sold out to
God.
He preached his first sermon ina cottage service with just six
people.
They were all elders, amen, except two of his little buddies

(36:22):
that came.
He preached that message andhis schoolmaster criticized him
afterwards.
But before Hugh Price Hugheswould walk out of the room, he
would say this that this boywill be the president of the
conference.
Oh, glory to God.
He would go on.
Amen.

(36:43):
After that the Holy Ghost woulddeal with him and he would
write a letter to his father.
His father was a distinguishedpolitician Amen.
J Gregory Mantle says that heheld every political position in
the town, a renounced surgeonthat had plans of training
Hughes for the bar.
But Hughes would write hisfather after that experience and

(37:06):
say this my dear father, Ibelieve it is the will of God
that I should be a Methodistpreacher.
Your affectionate son Hughesand his father would reply with
this my dear boy, I'd rather yoube a Methodist preacher than
the Lord Chancellor of England.
Your affectionate father JohnHughes, I've got news for you.

(37:30):
There's a generation that'scoming up in this place that's
got the potential to change theworld, and I'd rather you be a
Pentecostal preacher than thePresident of the United States.
I'd rather you play that pianoand play that drums and clap
your hands than be a Hollywoodstar.

(37:50):
I wish I had some mom anddaddies that tell their children
go, lock, stock and barrel, son.
Go, lock, stock and barrel.
I'm tired of giving bits andpieces.
I'm ready for lock, stock andbarrel.
Go, lock, stock and barrel.

(38:12):
I'm ready for lock, stock andbarrel.
Those old saints would saysomething else.
They'd say pray through, prayclear through or, as Brother
Gabbard would say, pray, plumbthrough.
We're all looking at themsaying what's that pray through?

(38:37):
I'm going to tell you it's anart that the enemy is trying to
take from us.
He's trying to get us to justpray up to instead of praying
clear through.
I asked some elder preachersbecause of my age.
I wanted their approval on whatthese statements meant.

(39:02):
So I called some elder men ofGod.
I asked them about this.
Brother Gabbard said Amen, thatpraying through is praying till
you get there.
It's praying till you touchthere.
It's praying till you touchheaven.
And you know you did.
Oh glory to God, amen.
I asked Brother Russell McDonald.
I said what's praying throughmean?

(39:23):
I said does it mean getting allthe way?
He said it means that you're inthe throne room, that you're
with the King.
Oh glory to God, hallelujah.
I asked Brother BD Sutherlandwhat praying through meant.
He says it means you go all theway through.
He said it's a faith thing thatyou know.

(39:44):
I'm through.
Oh glory to God.
I'm going to tell you it'sstill the effectual, fervent
prayer of a righteous man thatavaileth much.
I'm just about to get throughhere.
Oh glory to God.
You've got to pray until youknow you've touched heaven.
Pray through.
Pray through the distractions, pray through the demonic attacks

(40:07):
.
Pray through depression.
Pray through addictions.
Pray through doubt.
Pray through fear.
You gotta be determined to notbe denied.
I gotta pray through when youhit a wall.
Keep on praying.
When the devil says you can'thave the Holy Ghost, pray
through it.
When the devil says you'llnever get the Holy Ghost because

(40:29):
you're not worthy, pray throughit.
Hey, you can get through it inthe name of Jesus.
I said you can get through itby the power of the Holy Ghost.
Some of you've been seeking foran anointing.
Pray through it.
You've been seeking for ablessing.
Pray through it.
Oh glory to God.

(40:51):
Oh glory to God.
Somebody believe that you canpray through tonight.
Oh God, right where you are, raise your hand.
Ask God to help us across thishouse as we begin to make our
way to this altar In just amoment.
Speak to us, lord.

(41:12):
Speak to us, lord.
The Shekinah glory.
I wish I had Brother Lynn Headhere.
The Shekinah glory of God.

(41:35):
Amen.
The Shekinah glory filled thehouse.
The Shekinah glory came in thatplace.
I feel the Shekinah glory, ohglory.
You ever heard that?
The Shekinah glory.
It's making reference back Tothat visible manifestation Of

(41:56):
God's presence that would comeand hover Over the tabernacle.
Though this word is not foundin your King James Bible, it is
a biblical term that follows allthe way back Through Jewish and
historical records.
Amen Of the Hebrews.
It's a Hebrew word that simplymeans to dwell or to settle down

(42:19):
and dwell.
It's that Shekinah presence ofGod that moves in to stay.
Hallelujah, amen.
Brother Gabbard told me of thetime at Bond Camp meeting when
Brother Sutherland was preachingand he said the anointing of
the Holy Ghost was there.
He said all of a sudden Ibelieve it was on the left side

(42:41):
a cloud moved in that place andcame all the way across the
platform, hit the right side ofthat building and went out the
other side.
He said that stadium was packed.
Amen to the brim.
But when he got, when he lookedafter that glory came, he said
I don't think there was tenpeople in that place who was not
kneeling or on their face inthe Holy Ghost.

(43:03):
I'm going to tell you one thingthat we cannot do without.
We cannot do without the glory.
I said we've got to have theglory.
I said we got to have the gloryOf the Holy Ghost.
I know I prayed with some ofyou In the altars.
I've heard some of you talk andtestify.

(43:23):
You don't want no cheap version, you want the glory Of the Holy
Ghost.
There's a passion For the oldfashioned.
How many would say with thispreacher, we want that Shekinah,
we want that dwelling glory.
Come on, musicians, hallelujah.

(43:48):
Paul would write and say thisthat the power of my grace is
sufficient.
Jesus said to him and Paul saidmost gladly.
Paul would write and say thisthat the my grace is sufficient.
Jesus said to him and Paul saidmost gladly.
Therefore, will I rather gloryin my infirmities that the power
of Christ may rest upon me.
That word rest is used one timein the Greek.

(44:08):
It's a one time usage word inthe Greek.
That word in the Greek means todwell in a tent or to
tabernacle, to come down anddwell in a tent.
That's what the word rest meansin the Greek, but it's
companion word in the Hebrew.
It's got it's root word fromthe word Shekinah and Paul said

(44:34):
all of this is happening.
But there's one thing that Idesire more.
I'm not worried about the thornin the flesh, I'm not worried
about what's going on.
I'll count it as glory if thepower of God, the power of
Christ, would Shekinah, woulddwell upon me.
Oh God, you know what would fixyour church, fix your youth

(45:00):
group.
The Shekinah glory of heaven.
We need an old-fashioned heavenscent, holy Ghost revival.
Somebody get hungry For theglory.
I said somebody.
What about back there in theback, do you need the glory?
What about back here on thisside, do you need the glory?

(45:22):
What about Kentucky?
What about Oklahoma?
What about Georgia?
I need that Shekinah Glory fromabove.
What about Georgia?
I need that Shekinah.
Glory from above.

(45:51):
Oh, while they're coming in, andI appreciate you moving on in
and not clogging up the aisles.
I was an 11 year old boy, shyand backward, couldn't talk.

(46:12):
I was an 11-year-old boy, shyand backward, couldn't talk.
Oh, glory to God.
And I went to youth camp.
After the year after I got theHoly Ghost, at 10 years old, I
went to a youth camp and God hadtouched me.
But on a Thursday night theglory of God came down on me.

(46:37):
I remember the glory of Godsettling in that place.
Oh, hallelujah.
All I remember was praying inthe Holy Ghost and began to
shout.
At some point I ended up on thefloor and and at somewhere in
there I realized I'm on thefloor, but that I mean we had

(47:00):
just gotten the altar when thathappened.
The next thing I don't know howlong I was there, because when
I came to there's probably only10 people.
It was after midnight thatnight when I came to, there was
probably only 10 people.
It was after midnight thatnight when I came to.
And when I came to a young boyand, to be honest, I sold
backward.
I don't ever remember eventalking publicly in a circle

(47:22):
with my friends.
Sold backward.
I don't ever remember amen,talking publicly, with a
conversation with all my family.
I was sold backward, I scaredto death.
I was bound by the aconversation with all my family.
I was so backward, I was scaredto death.
I was bound by the forces ofthe enemy.
Oh glory to God.
But when I came to I was on myfeet and I was preaching in the

(47:43):
Holy Ghost.
I was preaching, oh glory toGod.
And I don't know how long.
I preached in tongues.
But when I came to, it hit meEnoch, you're a preacher.
You're a preacher, oh glory toGod.
And if you wonder why I slingmy arm, I've been slinging it
since a thirsty night when Icame to in the Holy Ghost and

(48:09):
I've been trying ever since thatday to preach in the Holy Ghost
.
I say give me the glory.
I say give me the glory.
It's time for some of you thatare struggling with the call of
the preacher to sell out.
It's time for some of you thatare struggling with holiness to

(48:32):
sell out in the name of Jesus, because I've got to have the
glory, oh glory, to God by theraising of your hands.
I'm going to ask you a simplequestion.
You say deep down in my heart, preacher, I have a passion For

(48:54):
that old Fashion.
Tell me straight, I want thatold fashion.
Tell me like it is.
I want that old fashion.
Bust me, step on my toes.
I want that old fashioned.
Bust me, step on my toes.

(49:14):
I want that old fashioned.
Don't entertain me.
I want that old fashioned.
I got good news for you.
The announcement is this AmenFor the promise is unto you and

(49:42):
to your children, and to all ofthem that are far off as many as
the lord, our god shall call.
It's for you, the old fashioned.
Somebody say I want the oldfashioned.
Amen.
He's for you that came intothis place bound.
He's for you that came intothis place needing revival.

(50:05):
He's for you, for your youthgroup, for your family.
This cheap gospel won't do.
I want that old fashioned.
Get ready, get ready.
Oh glory to God, throw yourhands in the air.
Hallelujah Say, get ready tosing, hallelujah, come on, I

(50:25):
want you to cry out with yourvoice.
I see tears running down yourface.
I see it.
I don't have to have the makeuppreacher, I want the old said I
don't have to have the makeuppreacher, I want the old
fashioned.
I don't have to have Hollywood.
Just give me the Holy Ghost Inthe name of Jesus.
Come on, sell out right now.
Sell out right now.

(50:47):
Hey.
