Speaker 1 (00:01):
Music.
Greetings everyone.
This is Brother David Webb fromHodgenville, kentucky.
(00:21):
Thank you for listening toHoliness Preaching Online.
We want to present to you todaya great sermon from another
great preacher.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Well, do you love the
Lord tonight?
Surely it is good to be in thehouse of the Lord and truly I
can say that my God is awesome.
Amen.
You believe that tonight Isyour God awesome?
Tonight we serve a wonderfulGod and I do count it an honor
to be here tonight.
(01:16):
Come with a burden, I want totry to help us and I just feel
like we're right where the Lordwants us tonight.
And I just feel like we'reright where the Lord wants us
tonight.
But I am glad that y'all dohave something here tonight that
I did not have last night atour church, because y'all have
got air conditioning, amen.
And so last night our airconditioner had went out and so
(01:43):
it was pretty warm where we wasat last night.
But I preached and it was, andby the time I got done I was
ringing wet with sweat and sogetting hot like that then out
there in the night air.
So it has affected my voice alittle bit.
But I hope you'll pray for meand help me tonight.
Like I said, I come with aburden.
Brother Rusty called meyesterday and wanted to know if
(02:06):
I would be willing to come upand preach tonight, and I told
him.
I said I'd be honored to and Ilove coming here.
I love this church, I love allyou wonderful people and I like
it better though, when brotherRusty's here, because I know how
it is when the pastor's gone.
(02:27):
It's not the same.
But let's just loosen up.
Let's just have church, and I'veheard good reports already
People bragging on your pastorand what a wonderful job he did
preaching this week and if Godwill help me, they told me about
what he preached it, brother.
Uh, ho comes up there and uh.
(02:49):
So I'm probably going to borrowit myself and take it back to
Millery.
But this certainly is awonderful message.
But if you got your bibles, turn with me to the book of
first Peter amen, book of 1Peter Amen.
(03:11):
I hate to hear it but it is Alittle helpful, I guess, if you
can say it that way.
But Chuckie said y'all beenfighting the devil, and so I
hate that, that y'all beenfighting the devil, and so I
hate that that y'all arefighting the devil.
But at the same time I'm gladto know I ain't been the only
(03:33):
one and our church has not beenthe only church that has been
fighting the devil.
It doesn't seem like the devil.
He is on his job, he isfighting.
But you know why he's fightingso hard?
Because the bible says he knowshe has but a short time.
So if he knows we have a shortbut a short time and he's
(03:55):
fighting harder, we ought torealize we have a short time and
we ought to step it up a notch, our own self, in worship in the
Lord.
Amen.
1 Peter, chapter number 5.
Very familiar verse.
You can quote it by heart, I'msure.
(04:17):
1 Peter, chapter number 5.
And verse number 8.
When you have it, say amen, besober, be vigilant, because your
adversary, the devil, as aroaring lion, walketh about
seeking whom he may devour Onemore time.
(04:39):
Lift your hands tonight and askthe Lord to help me.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Heavenly Father, lord
, we thank you so much for what
we already feel here in yourhouse tonight.
Ask the Lord to help me.
Heavenly Father, Lord, we thankyou so much for what we already
feel here in your house tonight.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I thank you, lord,
for my good brothers and sisters
, our friends here tonight.
Lord, I feel that I'm in goodcompany here and I pray, lord,
that we would feel your presenceand your anointing would come
by.
I pray that you'd anoint me topreach the gospel.
I pray that your word would goforth and do a great and mighty
work in these altars tonight.
(05:08):
In Jesus' name, amen, I hopeyou'll make it easy for me and
help me and pray for me tonight.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
Very familiar
scripture has said be sober, be
vigilant, Because your adversary.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Amen your adversary,
not just my adversary, but he's
your, your adversary.
Amen.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
I just want to kind
of preach from them couple words
there, your adversary, or inother words, preach on, you got
a devil to deal with.
Amen, your devil, you, you, yougot a devil that you must deal
with.
Amen.
The bible tells us in uh first, samuel, uh, it said, it said,
(05:59):
talked about an evil spirit, uh,that it came and said an evil
spirit from the lord troubledsaul, amen, adam and eve had
their devil to deal with in thegarden.
Uh, jesus had to deal with thedevil in the wilderness, amen.
Paul said these words.
He says satan have buffeted me.
(06:20):
Uh, everybody, everybody it inme.
Uh, everybody, everybody has uha devil that you have to deal
with.
Amen.
But we know what is it that thedevil is after and, uh, we, we
know this, this is elementary toevery one of us.
Uh, but the, the, the, the, the, the thing that the devil's
(06:41):
after the most, the greatestprize in your life that he would
love to have, and that is notthat he wants your finances,
your house, your car, your legs, your arms, your hand, amen.
But what the devil would loveto have of yours the most, that
(07:04):
is your mind If he can.
Ever, yours the most, that isyour mind.
If he can ever, ever get a holdof your mind, amen.
It's because if he can get yourmind, then I've seen people
that live in a beautiful homeand drive a nice car and have a
healthy body but yet be be boundand bitter and empty and
(07:28):
depressed and troubled in theirmind.
Turn me back up a little bit, brother.
Amen.
But that's what the devil isafter, because I've seen a lot
of folks that uh that that youknow, that have had a uh.
Maybe they lost their house orthey lost their finances, but
I've seen people come to churchand not have a dime to their
(07:51):
name, but yet they could worshipand they could shout and they
could glorify God.
I've seen people in awheelchair that didn't even have
legs, but yet they would rollthemselves up and down the aisle
and praise and worship andmagnify God.
I've seen folks that didn'thave but one arm, but yet they
would take that one arm and theywould shout and run and worship
(08:13):
God.
But the devil knows if he canever get a hold of your mind.
Would you have an everything uhthat in your life?
Amen.
You will sit here on a pew withuh, even though you have a nice
house to live in and you drovea nice car to church and you sit
(08:36):
here in a healthy body.
There's nothing, uh, physicallywrong with you, but yet, amen,
you sit right here in this pewtonight with your mind just
bound by the enemy.
Amen, you have an adversarythat, uh, that, that, that
that's after your mind.
(08:56):
He wants to, because if he canget a hold of that, then he has
everything connected to you.
All falls in place, amen.
You know, we live in a timewhere never have we ever seen,
where it seems like people havebecome so crazy I mean, just
(09:17):
listen to the news any day ofthe week and there seems like
there is a madness that issweeping our country.
People have lost any type ofreasoning.
There is such a craziness thathas gotten a hold of our country
.
And how many times have youheard probably lately, you've
heard somebody say these words Ifeel like I'm losing my mind,
(09:42):
amen.
How many times have you saidlately, I feel like I'm losing
my mind, amen.
How many times have you saidlately, I feel like I'm losing
my mind, amen.
How many times have you heardsomebody lately say I feel like
I'm going crazy, amen.
Well, let me ask you this howmany times have you said lately
I feel like I'm going crazy andthat's what the devil's doing.
(10:04):
The devil is oppressing peopleand I can understand the world
being in the shape that they'rein Amen.
But why is it that the churchseems like we are just as bound
as what the world is, and whydoes it seem like the church
that we are just as oppressedand we are just as fearful and
(10:26):
we have a battle anxiety, and webattle depression and fear and
all of these things, just likethe world does?
I believe in whom the sun setsfree is free.
Indeed, I believe we're to havejoy, unspeakable and joyful of
glory.
I still believe that there isthe joy of being filled with the
Holy Ghost.
I believe that there is stilljoy in salvation, amen.
(10:51):
But the problem is is a lot oftimes we have allowed Satan to
begin to oppress our minds?
Amen, amen.
Do you realize?
The number one sickness inAmerica today?
It's not heart disease, it'snot diabetes, it's not cancer,
but the number one illness inAmerica today is mental illness.
(11:15):
It is 50, 60 years ago peopledidn't even know what a
psychiatrist was, but now apsychiatrist, that's, that's a
normal thing that people see allthe time, amen.
All of these mind-alteringdrugs and antidepressants and
all these appeals of 50, 60years ago, was, was, was unheard
(11:39):
of.
People did amen, but now it is.
It is a common drug that justabout anybody you meet is on
some type of antidepressant, some type of nerve pill.
But what's even sad is it'seven come right in the house of
God and you've got church folksthat are supposed to be saved
and full of the Holy Ghost, thatare so bound in their minds
(12:02):
that they have forfeited thepower of God and now turn into
the carnal and the beggarlyelements of this world.
Trying to find something amen,to cope with the battle and the
struggle that goes on in yourmind.
Amen.
There are, as far as mentalillnesses, uh, it is broken down
(12:26):
into two different categories,amen.
There is the psychotic and thenthere's what they call the
neurotic.
The psychotic, he is the typeof person that, and he cannot
function in society.
He can't do it.
I mean, he thinks he's fromanother planet, he thinks
lizards are crawling on the wall, he cannot reason with society.
(12:50):
And so for the psychotic, he ispretty well needs to be put in
a straitjacket and put away inan insane asylum somewhere, amen
.
But the neurotic is the type ofperson that can function
somewhat in society.
The neurotic can go to work, can go to the grocery store.
(13:12):
The neurotic can somewhat carryon a conversation with society.
The neurotic can function inthis world.
But the problem with theneurotic is that they are afraid
of the world in which they livein.
They cannot fully function likethey ought to Because of the
(13:36):
battle in their mind.
They can go to work, butthey're battling depression
about their job.
They can go to the grocerystore amen.
But they they have phobias andfears and anxieties and and all
of these isms and skills amen.
(13:57):
That goes on inside of theirminds.
That, amen, yes, they functionsomewhat in this world, but they
don't enjoy the world thatthey're living in.
And I can understand the worldbeing like the world, amen.
But why is it that we have somany church folks today?
Amen, that you can come tochurch and you function through
(14:18):
the service and you can gothrough the hymnal song right
along with the singer?
Amen.
But with the battle that goeson inside of your mind, you
don't have the joy that you'resupposed to have.
You don't have the freedom andthe liberty that you one time
had Amen, but all because youradversary, the devil, is trying
(14:43):
to control your mind.
Amen.
Let me tell you something.
Your adversary, the devil, andI just want to preach to us as
the church here tonight thatyou'd be surprised of the
stories that people will tellyou and tell the preacher Amen,
(15:04):
amen.
Of what the devil does and howthat the devil tries to drive
them.
Amen, to do things that theynormally would not do.
Amen.
There's people who sing andpeople who play the piano, amen.
But yet you'd be surprised, amen, of how that the adversary
(15:26):
amen pushes him and drives him.
Amen.
And crazy thoughts that, amen, that push, and and inside of
their head, amen.
There's one lady she plays apiano.
I wouldn't say where or who sheis, but, amen, she's a piano
player in a church and and, uh,and.
And she said that before thatshe got saved.
(15:49):
She said for seven years.
She said for seven years sheslept in the barn and she would
not sleep at night in her andher own house with her family.
And and she said, because atnight time she would.
She said there would be a.
She'd wake up in the middle ofthe night and said there would
just be such a strong urge thatwould come over her that she
(16:12):
would literally tremble and herof her hands would become sweaty
with this overwhelming urge togo and murder her family, amen.
There's one lady lady.
She sings in the choir of achurch.
But her testimony.
She said that she needed God todeliver her because she said
(16:34):
there was a time when she wouldbathe her little babies.
Amen that she finally got hermama to bathe the babies.
Amen.
And every night she'd call hermama and say Mama, will you come
bathe the children?
And finally the grandma saidwhat is going on?
Why do you want me to keepbathing your children?
And finally she broke down andcried and she said there's
(16:57):
something that comes over me.
Amen, this strong urge everytime I give my children a bath,
this strong urge every time Igive my children a bath, as
something tells me to push themunder the water and take my own
children's life.
Amen.
There's a man.
He's a man, he'd been a memberof a church and he said that for
years he rode the bus.
(17:19):
He would not drive his carnowhere, and I said that because
there was a bridge on his wayto work every day and said every
time he would get to thatbridge.
He said that all of a suddenthere would be a strong urge
that would come over him andsaid, all of a sudden he would
begin to have to fight thesteering wheel because something
kept telling him and trying toget him to just turn the wheel
(17:43):
of his car and run his car offthe road.
Amen.
You say, well, that's a lot of,that's just pure crazy, preacher
, amen.
But you know, amen.
Maybe you don't have thatdesire to run your car off the
road and maybe there's not adesire for somebody here to amen
to take the life of your ownchildren, amen.
(18:06):
But how many times have we seenchurch folks that it seemed
like for no reason, no apparentreason, begin to all of a sudden
, you begin to fight the man ofgod and you begin to amen, fight
against the church and youbegin to fight against this
sister and that sister and, andno, you would not probably
commit suicide and take your ownlife.
(18:28):
But how many times have we seenfolks that committed suicide,
spiritually, even becausesomething came over them?
Hey, but I know the preacherloves me, but I don't know why I
get so angry at the preacherlike I do.
I know the church is justtrying to help me and I know
they're just trying to love me,but I don't know what it is that
(18:49):
comes over me that makes mewant to withdraw myself away
from the church.
I don't know what it is thatmakes me paranoid about this
sister in the church.
Amen.
You start feeling likeeverybody's against you, amen.
Every time two sisters gettogether and start talking, all
of a sudden something, aparanoia.
(19:10):
A paranoia comes over you andyour mind begins to race away
and you say I know they'retalking about me, I know they're
running me down, amen.
No, they're probably justplanning dinner for some, a
sunday, amen.
But those spirits are trying toget a hold of your mind.
Amen.
The preacher just got up hereand preached a little sermon,
amen.
(19:30):
But all of a sudden, amen.
You're sitting there saying Iknow he threw that at me, he
don't like me, he don't love me,I know he's against my family,
amen.
You know what the devil's tryingto do, amen.
It's a spirit that's trying toget a hold of your mind.
It's your adversary, the devil.
He's not after your finances,he's not after your car.
(19:51):
He's trying to get a hold ofyour mind because, if he can
ever get a hold of your mind.
Amen.
There ain't a preacher in thisworld, amen, that's going to try
to reason any kind of senseinto your head here tonight.
Amen, you need God.
Amen, to touch you and heal you.
You need a breakthrough.
Amen, not just in your hands, but somebody needs a
(20:13):
breakthrough.
Amen, right inside of your mind.
I feel the Holy Ghost heretonight.
Amen, you got to understand.
Amen, it's your Adversary.
Amen, what I deal with, amen, the devil that I have to deal
with May not be the devil thatyou deal with.
(20:34):
And the devil you deal with Maynot be the devil that brother
Chucky deals with.
You all got your devil that youhave to deal with.
Amen.
There's a brother was telling meone time.
He said, and he's a goodbrother, but he said driving up
interstate 65.
Now, now, I'm the type person.
(20:56):
Gambling does not bother me.
I have no desire whatsoever inthis world to put my money in a
machine that I know I ain't gotbut a 33% chance of getting it
back.
Amen, I won't even put my moneyin a Coke machine if I'm not
sure.
Amen, I'm not going to get adrink out of the deal.
(21:17):
Amen, I'm just not that type ofperson.
But this brother said everytime I go by wind creek casino,
he said.
He said when I start seeing theneon lights of that building.
He says my heart feels likeit's about to pound out of my
chest, he said.
He said cold sweats begin torun down there.
(21:37):
He said my hands become sweaty.
He said there is such an urgeto want to get off that exit and
to go inside that Wind CreekCasino.
Amen, you say well, hey, andsometimes, if we're not careful,
we look down our noses and wesay, well, why does she battle
that?
Amen, that's ignorant, that'sstupid.
(21:59):
Amen for her to act like shedoes?
Amen, why does he deal withthat?
I don't deal with that, amen.
He just needs act like she doesAmen.
Why does he deal with that?
I don't deal with that, amen.
He just needs to grow up andpray through Amen.
It's easy to look down your nose, amen, at them dealing with
their devil, because that ain'tthe devil you deal with, amen.
But while you're looking downtheir nose, or your nose down at
(22:21):
them, why don't you stand upand let us know?
Amen, the dark secrets that runthrough your mind.
Amen in the thoughts that youthink about.
Amen, that you ain't wouldn'tdare tell nobody, amen, what
really goes on inside of yourmind and in your heart.
Amen, hey, amen.
She has a devil to deal with.
He's got a devil to deal with,amen.
(22:42):
What you've got to understandIs you've got an adversary
Yourself that's trying to get ahold of you, that's warring
against you, that's constantlytrying his best To get a hold of
your spirit and to get insideOf your mind.
It's not our adversary, it'snot the church's adversary Amen,
(23:07):
he said, but your adversary, amen, amen.
But that's why we sung tonightoh, my God is awesome.
Amen.
You realize.
The Bible said in Acts, chapter10 and verse 38.
It said how that God hathanointed Jesus of Nazareth with
(23:28):
the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and
healing all that were oppressedof the devil.
Amen, I tell you that's whatyou need.
You don't need an anxiety pill.
You don't need a psychiatrist.
You don't need an anxiety pill.
You don't need a psychiatrist.
You don't need Michelode andBud Light.
You don't need CBD drugs.
(23:50):
You don't need a therapist.
You don't need a cigarette.
You don't need any kind ofantidepressant drugs.
You don't need a nerve pill.
You know what you just need.
You need Jesus Christ, you needthe Holy Ghost and you need the
power of God even to healeveryone that is oppressed of
(24:12):
the devil.
Hallelujah, amen.
That's what the devil does ifwe're not careful.
A lot of times we don'tunderstand that what we are
dealing with is just spiritualwarfare.
Amen.
We don't wrestle against fleshand blood, but we are dealing
with Is just spiritual warfare.
Amen.
We don't wrestle against fleshand blood, but we are wrestling
against Principalities andrulers of darkness.
Amen.
We are fighting against spiritsthat are after your soul.
(24:37):
I remember one time, years, manyyears ago and if you haven't
never been here, don't ever gobut there is a place called
underground atlanta and we wasup brother jamie hadaway
pastored up or used to pass uparound atlanta and we was up
there preaching for him and andone day we had a free day and we
(25:00):
just wanted to go outside, seeing had never been to atlanta
and we, we did not know whatunderground atlanta was, and we
just wanted to go outside seeinghadn't ever been to atlanta.
And uh, we, we did not knowwhat underground atlanta was and
uh, we, he had just said thathe had heard about his own self
and he said that it was like a,it's like a shopping mall.
Just a picture, a mall, youknow, shopping mall, but it's,
but it's underground.
You go, you're underneath thecity of atlanta and uh, we just
(25:24):
we didn't know, we just out ofignorance said hey, let's go
down there, let's try it out,see what it is.
And so we got there and you godown, you're underneath the city
there and it is kind of morelike what it does sound like.
Hey, bill, underground Atlantais just like a shopping mall,
(25:45):
but it's more of a gothic, youknow, kind of a gothic theme
Surrounded that tree and we waswalking down through there and
we all agreed this was a dud, wemessed up, we shouldn't have
come here.
But as we was walking downthrough there there was a little
(26:05):
magic shop and there's amagician was outside of his
little magic shop there and hehe had him a little crowd kind
of gathered up and he was doinga magic trick and he was just
pulling quarters out ofsomebody's ear and he had a
little table set up and and he'dtake that, take a cup, and he
(26:26):
put it over a silver coin andpick the cup up and it was gold
coin.
He put it back down there andthe coin disappeared.
He put it back down there andthe silver coin was back there.
And we were just young andcurious, you know, just kind of
just watching the show.
We just walked over there andwatched him doing these little
tricks and stuff and all of asudden he'd come up to.
(26:48):
He just walked up to my wife andhe acted like he had a deck of
cards.
Wasn't no cards there, but hejust kind of fanned them out and
he said pick a card.
And so my wife looked at himlike he was crazy and cause
there wasn't no cards there.
And he said he said, pick acard.
He said just pretend you pick acard.
He said don't say what card itis.
He said but just think of acard in your mind, but don't say
(27:10):
what it is.
And so my wife, she just kindof reached up there and he said
you got a card in your mind.
She said yeah.
And all of a sudden up on ashelf there was a wine glass
sitting up there and had a deckof cards in it and all of a
sudden he said watch right there.
And that wine glass got toshaking and them cards got to
shaking by themselves, nothingover there touching it.
(27:32):
And my wife, in her mind, wasthinking seven of clubs.
And all of a sudden the carsgot to moving and a card got to
coming out of the deck and allof a sudden a seven of clubs
came up out of the deck and thatmagician looked and he said is
that your card?
And my wife said yeah, that'smy card.
And I said that's our cue toget out of here too, amen.
(27:55):
And we left out of there.
And I said I'll let to say this, when I, after leaving that
place, amen, for about a monthevery every day, brother, chucky
, amen.
I began to have these mindbattles.
I mean just thoughts, crazythoughts run through my mind,
amen, every day.
I felt so oppressed of thedevil, I felt like my mind was
(28:19):
in knots and I'd pray and I'dtry, amen, but I could not get
victory.
About a month later I was justcrying, I was praying God.
I said what's going on?
Why is my mind so feel likeit's so bound by the devil?
And all of a sudden God spoketo me and he said when you
allowed yourself to beentertained by that magician, I
(28:40):
said you opened yourself up tospirits, amen, and now they're
Attacking you.
Amen.
I begin to weep and cry and Isaid, god, I'm sorry, I repent
of it.
And I prayed through it.
And I prayed until I felt thatoppressive spirit left me and I
felt liberty and joy and allthat came back inside of me
(29:01):
again.
I called brother Jamie.
I said hey, brother, how youbeen doing?
And he said, brother, for abouta month now.
He said I have never fought thedevil so hard in my mind.
He said I feel so oppressed.
I said, brother.
I said let me tell you what godsaid.
I said we didn't have nobusiness sitting there and
letting ourselves be entertainedabout that magician.
(29:24):
And I said we opened ourselvesup to those spirits and I said
I've got victory over.
I said, brother, you need toget victory over.
He called me a little whilelater.
He said, brother, I feel likeGod has delivered me from that
oppressive spirit.
And he said I feel like God hashelped me and touched me.
You know what you got to do.
(29:44):
Even the devil tries to get ahold of you.
And he said I feel like God hashelped me and touched me.
You know what you got to do.
Amen, the devil tries to get ahold of you.
I feel like I'm talking tosomebody here tonight.
Amen, your mind is in knots.
You can't pray, you can't think, you can't worship, you can't
get in the preaching Amen, youcan't think when you get down
here to altar, amen, somewhereyou've opened yourself up and
(30:04):
you've you've allowed the spiritamen to oppress your mind, and
what you need is jesus and theholy ghost and the power of god
able to set you free from thatoppressive spirit that's got a
hold of your mind.
Amen, I feel liberty tonight.
I feel like I'm talking tosomebody here tonight,
(30:27):
hallelujah.
But here's the problem Amen, we.
You know.
You know there's somethingspecial about preaching.
I know when I'm preaching tosomebody and I know when I
missed it.
And right now I can feel I amtalking to somebody in this
house tonight.
Amen, you're thinking.
Amen, my mind has been runningaway with me.
(30:50):
Amen, I can't think straight.
I feel like I'm going crazy.
You're just simply oppressed bythe devil.
But this is what we don't liketo do.
We ain't about to admit that weare oppressed of the devil.
We'll blame the preacher beforewe admit that I'm oppressed of
(31:11):
the devil.
That's because you don'tunderstand what oppression means
.
Amen, we.
We feel like to say I'moppressed by the devil, we think
we're saying the same thing asI'm saying I'm possessed of the
devil, amen.
And we're, we're afraid of thatand we don't want to, we don't
want to bring ourself to to looklike I'm that, I'm demon,
(31:34):
possessed, amen.
There's a difference betweenbeing possessed of the devil and
being oppressed of the devil,amen.
I don't know if some of you, welive out in the country and a
lot of times we have dogs andthey're bad out in the country
to get ticks on them, amen.
And if that tick, it starts outreal little, but that tick
(31:57):
takes a hold of that dog and itbegins little by little.
It is not possessing that dog,it's not inside that dog, amen,
but it is.
It is.
It is like an oppressive spiriton that dog and what it does,
it just little by little, issucking the life out of that dog
.
And you know what it, what itdoes.
(32:17):
I've seen them, we've had amany of them.
All of a sudden you'll look outthere one day and they'll be
paralyzed their back legs, they'll be dragging their back
legs around, amen.
And you go out there you think,oh, what in the world they done
, got run over.
What's happened?
Amen.
And they've lost that joy thatthey used to have.
They don't function right likethey used to, and I've had it
(32:41):
happen enough times I said, allright, I know what's happening.
And I and I've had it happenenough times I said, alright, I
know what's happening.
And I just start combingthrough that hair and usually
it'll be right there on the backbone, and all of a sudden
you'll see a big, old, fat tick, about as big as your thumbnail.
It'll be right there in themiddle of that dog's back.
Amen, amen.
I don't know how you're supposedto do it.
I do it the old fashioned way.
(33:01):
I go, get me a pair of pliers, amen.
I pull that tick off of there, amen.
And just a little while you'llsee feeling starts coming back
to that dog's legs again.
And all of a sudden, that dog,he'll start standing up and in a
couple of days, you know whatthat dog will do He'll be
running around.
You'll see life come back tothat dog.
(33:23):
Amen, he'll be running around.
You'll see life come back tothat dog.
Even.
He'll start functioning like heused to.
Even that joy's come back tohim.
And not because he waspossessed by that tick.
He was simply oppressed by that, and that's what the devil
tries to do to me and you.
It's not that we're possessedof the devil, but if he can ever
just get a, even just begin totalk to you, and you allow him
(33:46):
to end and day out, amen, to sitright there and he talks to
your mind and he's puttingthings in your mind and he puts
fears in your mind, he putsdoubt in your mind, he puts
anxiety in your mind, he putstorment in your mind, amen.
And he talks to your mind andyou find yourself.
(34:07):
You come to church, but youdon't have the joy that you used
to have when you come to church.
Even you come to church, butyou don't function like you used
to.
Even something has happened toyou and something's gone wrong
with you.
Even what happened to you?
Even you say, well, I don'tunderstand.
I don't have any sin in my life, even I still live holy.
(34:30):
Even let me tell you what it is.
You've allowed an old,oppressive spirit, amen, that's
got a hold of you and it'ssucking the life out of you.
It's sucked a revival out ofyour spirit, amen.
It's pulling joy out of yourspirit, amen.
But what you need tonight amen.
The Bible says that Jesus wentabout healing everyone.
(34:52):
Amen.
That was a oppressed of thedevil.
Even what you need, amen.
You need a healing Not just inyour body, but you need a
healing in your mind.
I need God to touch my mind.
I need God to put faith evenback inside of me again.
(35:12):
I need God to put even reflectback inside of me again.
I need God to put even reflect.
Who am I preaching to tonight?
Even God said I want to healyou.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
I want to heal your
spirit.
Speaker 5 (35:22):
I want to heal your
mind, I want to heal your
attitude.
I want to heal you.
I want to get you back to whereyou used to be Hallelujah,
hallelujah, hallelujah,hallelujah, hallelujah.
Hey, but I got an elder sisterin my church, brother Joe and
Sister Patsy elderly folks in mychurch and they're good people,
(35:44):
I mean, they are sweet, sweet, godly people but they are not
physically able to come tochurch.
A lot of times she's in awheelchair and she is totally
dependent on him, amen, to gether back and forth to church.
Amen, but a lot of timesthey're just not able to come.
(36:08):
And here a few years ago, all ofa sudden it was Sunday night
and it was right before church, about 10, 15 minutes before
church Sunday night, and all ofa sudden Sister Patsy called me.
She was hysterical and she wascrying and she said oh, brother
JJ.
She said I know it's almostchurch time.
She said but Joe got a badreport from the doctor and they
(36:32):
don't give him but three monthsto live.
And she said I know it's church, but if we ever needed you, is
there any way you'd come rightnow?
And it just broke my heart, tore my heart out.
I said yeah, I said I feel likeI need to come over and help
you.
And I called Brother Mike, ourchurch.
(36:53):
I said, hey, be instant inseason, out of season.
Amen.
I said take care of the serviceand preach.
I'm going to Brother Joe andSister Patsy, but on my way over
there I was praying.
I said, oh Lord, they gaveBrother Joe three months to live
.
Sister Patsy's in a wheelchair,I said she'll probably end up
in the nursing home.
Amen.
I said, oh Lord.
And all of a sudden God startedtalking to me.
(37:15):
He said don't you go over there, amen, just sit around and cry
with them.
He said, hey, I'm sending youover tonight, amen.
And that's because it ain'tnothing but a spirit of hell and
a spirit of fear that istormenting her mind right now,
hallelujah.
But the doctor said he ain'tgot but three months to live.
God said it ain't nothing but aspirit of fear that's getting a
(37:39):
hold of their minds.
I said, all right, lord.
So I went in their house.
Brother Joe was sitting in therecliner and he was gasping for
breath.
Couldn't hardly breathe.
I said well, the Lord said it'sthe spirit of fear, I said, but
looking at him breathing, amen.
I said it looked like morespirit of fear to me and she
(38:01):
just cried.
She said oh, brother JJ, what amI going to do?
What am I going to do withoutmy Joe?
I said hold on, sister Patsy.
I said I didn't come over here, amen, just to cry with you.
I said I come with a word fromthe Lord for you.
I said God said that this righthere ain't nothing but a spirit
(38:21):
of fear.
I said we ain't going to listento this.
I said we ain't going to acceptwhat the doctor just said.
I said I come over here to prayfor you.
I said we're going to cast thisspirit of fear out of this
house.
I said we're gonna get faithback inside of us again and I
said we're gonna let god havethe final.
Say so over brother joe, howdid who?
(38:44):
She said well, pray, we needprayer, amen.
I grabbed their hands and I gotto pray it.
I said in the name of Jesus.
I said I cast doubt and fearand unbelief.
I said I cast you out of thishouse in the name of Jesus.
I said God, would you bring usfaith in your word and faith,
(39:06):
amen of you back inside of usagain?
All of a sudden the Holy Ghostfell right there in the living
room.
Sister Patsy got to shouting inher wheelchair, brother Joe was
sitting in the recliner andBrother Joe got to shaking and a
jerking and flopping around inhis recliner.
All of a sudden, brother Joesaid I told you.
(39:26):
He said something just happenedto me.
He said I don't know what justhappened in my heart, because
that's what they said.
They said his heart was full ofplaque and there wasn't nothing
they could do for it.
They gave him three months tolive.
He said something just touchedmy heart.
He said I can breathe,hallelujah.
(39:48):
And so, sister Pat, she saidpray for us, brother JJ, we got
to go back this week to Mobileand they're going to run some
more tests.
And Brother Joe said he said Iain't going back to the doctor.
He said God just healed me.
And she said well, joe, don'tyou think you need to go to the
doctor?
He said why should I go to thedoctor?
He said I just have the doctorright here right now.
(40:11):
And she said well, joe, don'tyou think you ought to at least
go and let them check you out?
He said well, I'll go, let themcheck me out.
But he said ain't no use ofgoing down there, he said
because something just happenedinside of me.
Hallelujah, amen.
About a few days later, amen.
I got a phone call from SisterPatsy and she said Brother JJ,
brother JJ.
And she said brother jj,brother jj.
(40:36):
She said where are you?
I said I'm driving down theroad.
She said pull over on side theroad.
She said because you'reprobably going to want to shout
on this one.
I said what is it?
She said we're leaving mobileand said they run tests and
looked at joe's heart and thedoctor said we don't know what
happened, but we can't find anyplaque in his heart.
Even they gave him three monthsto live.
(40:56):
That's been about five years.
Even they were just in church, even the other Sunday.
Even I'm gonna tell yousomething, even God did not give
us a spirit of fear.
But let me tell you what Goddid give us.
He gave us a spirit of love anda power and of a sound mind.
(41:17):
I feel the Holy Ghost tonight.
Even what we need is Jesus toheal all that are oppressed of
the devil.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
We need a healer.
Speaker 5 (41:29):
Even God said, if
you'll let me tonight even I'll
touch your body.
I'll touch your mind, I can saveyour soul, even just in time.
Look what the Lord I said, lookwhat the Lord has done.
Lift your hands and magnify Godtonight, hallelujah, hallelujah
(41:53):
.
That's why it's important We'vegot to get the fire back
burning in the church again.
We've got to get the fire ofthe Holy Ghost even burning in
this church again, hallelujah.
When Paul had that serpentbitted, even if he shook the
(42:14):
snake off.
But had there not been a fire,Even that spirit would have just
lashed on him again, even thebeings.
There was a fire that wasburning.
When he shook that snake off, even it died.
I said it died In the fire.
I feel the hole that goes Amen.
(42:36):
God said I come to heal, I cometo heal, I come to heal your
mind.

the day I die.
(01:01:13):
I'm tired of you, devil.
You've had me bound way toolong.
I'm going to lift my headtowards heaven.

Speaker 4 (01:01:57):
The man of God's

praying for our first lady, that's the mother of our church.
But the devil tore me her mind.
If she needs God, there's aword of us in God.
Somebody ought to step outright now.
It's the will of God, step out, come forward.
The Bible says arise and beanointed.
Speaker 8 (01:02:23):
Somebody better make
a move.

(01:03:45):

You've had me bound way toolong.
I'm going to raise my hands toheaven.
(01:04:05):
I'm going to sing a happy song.
