Rev. Michael Johnson delivers a powerful sermon on trusting God's promises even when circumstances suggest otherwise, emphasizing that the divine promises transcend human understanding and timing.

• The command to "tarry until ye be endued with power from on high" requires patient endurance in a fast-paced world
• God is not a man that He should lie—His nature makes it impossible for Him to break His promises
• Where God opens great doors of opportunity, opposition often follows, but the opportunity always outweighs the opposition
• The prophet may die, but the prophecy lives on—God's promises transcend human vessels and circumstances
• Personal testimonies of miracle babies demonstrate God's faithfulness after years of waiting
• In waiting, we develop the spiritual capacity to receive what God has promised
• God's delays are not denials—He keeps every promise He makes

Join us in believing that what God has promised, He will perform. He's not just a promise maker; He's a promise keeper.

our little promised baby intoour family.
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
Some of you know our story.
And God still gives miraclebabies.
Praise God.

(02:10):
And so we've got little TatumBruce going to join our family
and I'm so very excited aboutthat.
So if there's some couples herethat that may seem hopeless in
your home, just keep praying.
God still answers prayer.
Don't you dare give up on God.
He ain't give up on you.

(02:31):
Hallelujah.
Luke, chapter 24, verse number49.
I pray the Holy Ghost to helpme.
You'll overlook my age and myfeebleness, and the Spirit of
the Lord will make up thedifference and visit with us
today.
Luke 24 and 49.
The Bible said and behold, Isend the promise of my father

(02:53):
upon you, but tarry ye in thecity of Jerusalem until don't
get in too big of a hurry.
Wait till God does it, until yebe endued with power from on
high.
Hallelujah, the Lord would helpme today.
I want to preach today onendeavoring to be endued.

(03:16):
Could you ask the Lord to helpme preach today?
Heavenly Father, I love you somuch and I thank you for the
awesome privilege to share yourword.
Lord, I feel so humbled toshare your word.
Lord, I feel so humbled toshare the pulpit with these
great men of God.
I need your help, lord.
I feel my great need for youtoday.

(03:36):
I pray Holy Ghost you'd help me.
Give me the wit and wisdomwhereby to preach your word.
Help me to preach it withprecision and power.
In Jesus' name.
Everybody said amen.
Be seated today in the presenceof the Lord.
Endeavoring to be endued Toendeavor is to exert oneself.
It's to do or affect somethingor make an effort and strive.

(04:01):
The word endued, I think, is soimportant.
It is to invest or endow withsome gift, quality or faculty.
It's to put on or to cause, asa person, to become filled or
saturated with a certain qualityor principle.

(04:23):
I don't know about you, but Iwant to be endued with the power
of the Holy Ghost in thisgeneration.
Hallelujah.
Here in the book of Luke, chapter 24, there is some
incredible events that has takenplace in chapter 24.
We start out the chapter withthe resurrection of the Savior.

(04:46):
In the first six verses theBible said Now, upon the first
day of the week, very early inthe morning, they came unto the
sepulcher bringing the spiceswhich they had prepared and
certain others with them, andthey found the stone.
Aren't you glad he's not thereanymore.

(05:08):
They found the stone rolledaway from the sepulcher and they
entered in and found not thebody of the Lord Jesus.
And it came to pass as theywere much perplexed thereabout.
Behold, two men stood by themin shining garments, and as they

(05:31):
were afraid and bowed downtheir faces to the earth, they
said unto them why seek ye theliving among the dead?
He is not here, but he is risen.
Aren't you glad we've got aliving Lord that we're serving
this morning?

(05:51):
I feel him in my hands, I feelhim in my feet.
I felt him while the man of Godwas preaching.
Aren't you glad he's alivetoday?
Hallelujah, the resurrection ofthe Savior.
You go and you pick up in verse13.
You find the reappearance ofthe Savior.

(06:12):
You got a couple of people thatare making a trip down the
Emmaus Road and Jesus appears tothem.
And of course we know the storythere.
It is such a powerful momentmost of all of us have quoted it
how that Jesus began to openthe scriptures.
Their eyes were veiled as Jesusmakes his departure from them.

(06:37):
The Bible said that their eyeswere opened and they looked to
one another.
That's the way I feel because ofthis camp meeting.
Did not our hearts burn withinus?
I want to say to Westside, holiness Camp Meeting I'm
leaving with a burning heartbecause the scriptures were so

(07:01):
open to me.
Can I say to us I'm so thankfulfor the word of God.
I'm thankful that it's anointed, I'm thankful that it's alive.
Aren't you glad for the powerof the word?
Hallelujah Boy, I feel likepreaching today.
I sure hope he'll help me do it.

(07:21):
There's the reappearance of theSavior and then there's his
return to splendor.
You get after our text.
The Bible said that theywatched him as he ascended back
into glory and he sat down atthe right hand of the Father and
he makes intercession.
Aren't you glad we got somebodybigger than us praying for us?

(07:43):
Hallelujah, glory to God.
But before Jesus made his returnto splendor, he left us some
information and instructionsthat would be vital to the
Christian believer.
I want you to notice thespiritual information that Jesus

(08:05):
left.
And behold, I send the promiseof my Father upon you.
Hallelujah, oh, glory to God.
One of the first times wereceived this spiritual
information was the promise ofthe Father Back in Joel, chapter
2 and verse 28 and 29.

(08:28):
You can quote it as well as Iand it shall come to pass
afterward that I will pour outmy spirit upon all flesh, and
your sons and your daughtersshall prophesy, and your sons
and your daughters shallprophesy.

(08:48):
I still believe in an end time,on time, revival, hallelujah.
Your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see
visions, and also upon yourservants and upon your
handmaidens I will pour out ofmy spirit.
I say God on a Saturday morning, pour it out on me, lord.

(09:17):
He left us some spiritualinformation, but also some
serious instructions, but tarryye in the city of Jerusalem.
How long, lord, I'll tell you, until we're living the most
fast-paced hurry-up generationI've ever seen.

(09:41):
I'm always in a hurry.
I left Thursday evening afterour doctor's appointment.
I barely even stopped.
I was in a hurry to get here.
Well, that was a good reason, though.
There's some good preaching anda move of the Holy Ghost going
on, but I was in a hurry.

(10:02):
But listen in all that we do.
We may hurry to Walmart and dothe grocery pickup and not even
go in, but whatever we do, wecannot forget to tarry until we
are endued.
The altar part of the churchservice is not the part we gotta

(10:24):
hurry up on.
Oh, help me, preach Lord, serious instructions upon.
Oh, help me preach Lord, serious instructions.
Tarry until ye be endued withpower.
Now, when you are tarrying inthe altars, you are endeavoring
to be endued by the power of theHoly Ghost.

(10:47):
Those two words tarry until.
That word tarry is to linger inexpectation, to wait to abide or
stay in or at a place.
My grandmother, she's gone onto be with Jesus, but she used
to sing an old song you can'thurry God, you'll just have to

(11:11):
wait.
You'll have to trust in him, nomatter how long it takes.
He's a God that you can't hurry.
He'll be there, don't you worry.
He may not come when you wanthim, but he's right on time.
That word until is used as afunction word to indicate but

(11:32):
it's right on time.
That word until is used as afunction word to indicate
continuance as of an action orcondition, to specify time For
an example.
Tarry until morning.
Tarry until tonight.
Hope you're praying for me.
I'm trying to go somewhere forthe Lord to help me today.
Tarry until Pentecost.

(11:55):
That's why Paul begins to writeto the church in Corinth and as
he says, 1 Corinthians 16, 7through 9, for I will not see
you now, by the way, but I trustto tarry a while with you if
the Lord permit.
But I will tarry at Ephesusuntil Pentecost.

(12:20):
I understand that Paul theapostle was probably penning
about a day on a calendar.
But you and I know very wellthat Pentecost is no longer just
a day on a calendar.
But you and I know very wellthat Pentecost is no longer just
a day on a calendar.
It is a way of a Christianhallelujah.
I'm glad to be Pentecostalhallelujah.

(12:43):
But then he gives us why hewill tarry at Ephesus, for a
great door and an effectual isopened unto me and there are
many adversaries.
Paul is tearing.
Well, I hope the Holy Ghosthelped me preach right now.

(13:03):
Paul is tearing at Ephesusbecause God has given a great
opportunity, but with everyopportunity often comes
opposition.
I thought it interesting, so Iconsidered the two words great
and many.
Great door, many adversaries.

(13:26):
I feel like that I'm preachingto somebody in the house that
you have been given a greatopportunity, that God has opened
a great door, and you'relooking at the opposition more
than you are the opportunity andyou're saying there's so many
devils, there's so much againstme.

(13:48):
I come to preach to somebody ona Saturday morning.
The opportunity is greater thanthe opposition.
I feel the Holy Ghost about tobreathe on me.
Now.
I sit in that room until 3o'clock this morning.
I felt the Holy Ghost speakingto me.

(14:09):
I don't know if I'm a preacherto a good pastor.
I know my age, I'm only 33.
I'm unlearned, but you hear meright now.
You're looking at it and you'resaying God, as Brother
MacDonald always said, brotherKevin, 10,000 demons of hell.
I know, I know they there, butquit looking at the opposition.

(14:31):
God just opened up a door.
Oh, have the Holy Ghost.
Ephesus, I was going to see youat Corinth but I need to stay
here.
So I considered these words interms of sheer magnitude, of
meaning.
Great is generally consideredbigger than many.

(14:54):
You gotta note.
God inspired holy men of old.
They did not pen one word byaccident.
I feel the Holy Ghost ofpriests today.
There's a reason why he putgreat opportunity and many
adversaries, because great'salways bigger than many.

(15:15):
I feel the Holy Ghost to preachright now.
I feel the Holy Ghost to preachright now Come on it implies
superior.
When you look at great, itimplies a superior quality or

(15:38):
extent, while simply many justmeans many people.
I'm going to tell you right nowmy one big God, manifested in
three persons.
It's bigger than every demon ofhell that ever come against us.

(16:01):
Go on and you break it down.
Great can be describedsomething as being notably large
in size or superior quality, oroutstanding in size or superior
quality or outstanding inability.
It suggests a level ofexcellence or importance that is
beyond ordinary.
So when Paul says I have agreat door, a great opportunity,

(16:28):
what he's saying is this is aGod thing.
Then he says many simplyindicates a large number of
something.
It doesn't imply any particularquality, it don't mean they can
win, it just means there's alot of them.

(16:48):
You see, it's like the littleman in the word of God with the
prophet.
I want to be a preacher tosomebody.
And he goes and he looks at theprophet and he said I looked
and I'm surrounded.
Have you looked?
They're all around us.
And the prophet shakes his head.
I must say.
And he says Lord, open the eyesof the young man.

(17:13):
I'm a preacher to somebody.
I felt the Holy Ghost breatheon me today.
Open the eyes of the young man.
And when the Lord opened hiseyes, he didn't just see the
Assyrian army, he saw chariotsand horses of fire.
You know what the man of Godwas trying to tell him.

(17:35):
Hey, boy, there's a lot morefor you than there are against
you.
The opportunity is greater thanthe opposition.
I'm telling somebody build thatchurch, work for God.
The opportunity is bigger.

(18:01):
I don't know who I'm preachingto, I ain't qualified, I'm sure.
But you listen to me right nowI'm telling somebody in this
house God ain't never startednothing that he can't finish.
Oh, hallelujah, the reason whyPaul.

(18:22):
Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost.
The reason why Paul is atEphesus.
He said I, I'm going to stayright here.
I just got a feeling God Knowswhat he's doing.
That's why you go to Revelation3.
He said I know thy works.

(18:44):
Behold, I have set before theeAn open door.
God's job, the hold I setbefore thee, I feel holy.
An open door.
God's job Is to open the door.
Your job, my job, is just to dothe walking.
He'll take care of the rest.
What kind of open door is this, god?

(19:10):
Now, that's a door that no mancan shut.
For thou hast a little strength.
Am I preaching to anybody Ifelt I would be?
That's got a little strength.
All you got is a littlestrength In my weakness.
His strength Is made perfect.

(19:31):
But notice, the opportunity Isgreater than the opposition
Because he says Behold, I willmake of them.
I will make them of thesynagogue of Satan, that's, his
adversaries, which say they areJews and are not.
But do lie, behold.
I will make them to come andworship before thy feet and to
know they are Jews and are not.
But do lie, behold.

(19:51):
I will make them to come andworship before thy feet and to
know that I have loved theeBecause thou has kept the word
of my patience, I also will keepthee From the hour Of
temptation.
I want to make a clarification.
The reason why the opportunityis always greater than the

(20:16):
opposition is because the authorof the opportunity is greater
than the adversary that opposes.
And then he writes I say alsounto thee that thou art Peter
and upon this rock I will buildmy church, and the gates of hell

(20:42):
shall not prevail against that.
You're coming through it.
I said you're coming through it.
I said you're coming through it.
I feel the Holy Ghost askinghim to help me right now.
This opportunity, thisopportunity.

(21:14):
I need to tell somebody youstay at Ephesus, don't you move,
stay right there.
God's getting ready to dosomething.
My daddy said it the other day.
I was preaching revival.
I was such a privilege To beable to preach revival At
Brother Lloyd's.
I was there revival.
I was such a privilege to beable to preach revival at
Brother Lloyd's.
I was there.

(21:34):
My dad called he was gettingready to build a church.
Brother Finley, we ain't got noaltar space.
God's building a church inJacksonville.
We ain't got no running roomand he breaks ground, hits a
spring nobody knows about and itfills up two foot of water.
My dad said I knew God'sgetting ready to do something.

(21:54):
Cause the devil's always afighting.
I need to talk to you about thisendeavor to be endued.
I don't know if I'll get pastmy first point, cause all I want
is him to have his way, but Iwant to talk to have his way,
but I want to talk to you.
If you're going to beendeavored to be endued, the

(22:15):
first step you need to researchthe promiser.
By law and a legal contract, there is a promisee and a
promisor.
The promisee is the onereceiving the promise that's me
and you but the promisor, thepromisee, is the one receiving
the promise that's me and you.
But the promisor is the onegiving the promise.

(22:37):
Now, the bad news is this Acontract can be breached or
broken, but the good news is wedon't have a contract.
We have a covenant, hallelujah.
And a covenant is a writtenagreement or promise, usually
under seal, between two or moreparties, especially for the

(23:02):
performance of some action.
Our covenant of our text readlike this Our covenant of our
text read like this Behold, Isend the promise of my Father
upon you.
You know what that tells me.
Walk through that door.

(23:22):
Whatever you need, god's got it.
God is the promisor, we're thepromisee.
Let's take a walk through theword of God.
Let's research this promiseright quick.
Let's just see if he'strustworthy To keep his promises
.

(23:43):
If you go to 2 Corinthians 1 and20, the Bible said for all the
promises of God In him are yeaand in him amen.
Unto the glory of God by us.
You go to Numbers 23 and 19.
The first five words.

(24:05):
If you want to say it like that, one of them is just a letter,
but the first five words isenough.
About God.
To sum it all up, can he betrusted?
And it starts out like this Godis not a man.
Oh, I get amen, right there.

(24:27):
He's not limited like man instrength, he's omnipotent.
He's not limited like man inknowledge, he's omniscient.
He's not bound by time norspace.
I'm not present.
He's not a man, can I tell you?

(24:51):
I know you can trust yourpastor.
He's trustworthy.
But with all that he can do,he's still a man.
But you mark it down, take itto the bank, write it in stone.
If God said it, then God'sgoing to do it.
He's never let one word fail.

(25:15):
It's not maybe it was BrotherFinley yesterday, I don't know,
but it's not that God won't lie.
So much as it is he can't lie.
You go on and you find in hopeof eternal life, which God that
cannot lie promised before.
The world began that by inHebrews 6, by two immutable

(25:41):
things in which it wasimpossible for God to lie.
After researching the promiser,I feel confident and sure that
he's trustworthy to keepeverything that he ever told me
In Joel, chapter 2, 28 and 29,when Joel made a prophecy and it

(26:03):
shall come to pass, I'm goingto do this and this.
When that happened to Acts, chapter 2, now you help me I
think it was around 800 andsomething years before that
prophecy come to pass.
I don't know if they laughed atJoel.
I don't know what they saidabout that prophet.
It don't matter, because on theday of Pentecost when the Holy

(26:26):
Ghost fell, brother Finley Peterstood up with the 11 and he
straightened the old wrecker out.
He said this is that.
Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost.
When I walked out of thatevangelist quarters at Brother
Rusty Johnson's and my wifelooked at me and said we are

(26:50):
going to have a baby, I saidthis is that that God promised
me five years ago.
I feel the Holy Ghost right now.
This was not in my notes, I didnot intend to go here, but I

(27:11):
was on my face this morningearly and I was on my face this
morning early and I was prayingand I know I think I told it
here maybe it bond and I feltlike telling it from the Lord
today the Holy Ghost fell inSouth Alabama in revival.
Brother JR and others were there.
No real preaching, just theLord moving.
This sister came up to me yearsago.

(27:33):
That was at camp meeting atBrother Rusty's.
Some of you are here probablyremember Brother Winford King
going on to be with the Lord.
Brother Shannon Justice hadpreached that day or night and
he had a bunch of baskets.
He preached where they took upthe fragments that remained in
12 baskets full.
He preached on who took up thefragments that remained in
twelve baskets full.

(27:53):
He preached on who brought thebaskets.
Brother King was moved by theLord.
He took a young lady, a limegreen basket, and said the Lord
said, brother Ben, god's gonnafill this basket With a baby.
Ever since God's going to fillthis basket With a baby, every

(28:15):
since she's toted a lime greenbasket to church With a baby
blanket and some other littleitems, believing that God's
Going to fill the basket.
Oh, I feel the Lord right nowshe came to me after church.
She said preacher, you have no.
What do you mean, sis?

(28:37):
I said, was you there?
I remember that.
I said the devil told me thatbrother Winford King is dead,
the prophet died and so thepromise that God give me is dead
, that there's no hope of amiracle.
My eyes got big and I saidlisten, sis, I can tell you this

(29:01):
right now the prophet might bedead, but the prophecy lives on.
Brother Winford King was onlythe conduit that God used to get
you the word, but the promisereally came from a higher level
and he's still alive.

(29:24):
I felt the Holy Ghost to walk inthis church on a Saturday
morning Before I go back toJacksonville, alabama, and hold
my promise in my arms.
The promise keeper is stillalive.
I'm preaching to somebody rightnow.

(29:45):
You thought your promise wasdead.
You thought it was all over.
You thought there was no hope.
But the promise keeper came byon a Saturday morning and said I
will keep my promise.

(30:07):
Sister Biff and his snow, Iain't seen you in a month of
Sundays.
If it is snow, I ain't seen youin a month of Sundays.
But I feel the Holy Ghost totell you God's going to keep
every promise that he ever made.
You're toting an invisiblegreen basket.

(30:30):
I'm done.
I just felt him check me.
You thought it's over, mypromise is dead, but I come to
tell you your promise is aliveas it's ever been.
Speak Lord, speak Lord.
Oh, oh, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen,

(31:17):
amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen,
amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen,
amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen.
Come on pray with me right now.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Have your way, lord, yea, for I am not a man that I
lie, yea, am I not the truth?
Yea, and I live, I ever live.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
I have performed my word and I will sayeth, the Lord
of hosts, raise your hands allup, raise your hands a year ago

(32:05):
come on preacher a year agotoday, on a Saturday morning,
brother, brother Lloyd,prophesied to me.

Speaker 5 (32:20):
I wrote it down, brother.
You said this may not be exact, but you said I have heard thee
at 530 in the morning and I willsend revival.
And there's been many a timesince then.
I have to admit that I'vewavered and I've wondered and I

(32:45):
tell you I got something to tellthe devil this morning.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
You're a liar, you're a liar.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
Come on, westside, god's going to send you revival.
Do you hear what the Holy Ghostsaid?
God's going to send you revival.
That's enough to make the devilnervous to know that in Raven
Virginia, their soul's going tobe saved.
In Raven Virginia, there'smiracles to be had.
I'm preaching to somebody rightnow.
You, you need to bail out ofthat pew right now and say I'm

(33:17):
holding on to the promise, I'mnot letting go of that promise.
It's yea, it's amen.
What he said, he'll do it.
I'm waiting on you.
Come on, the Holy Ghost justmoved in this house.
Come on, where you at.
I got a promise that ain't cometo pass.
I thought it was dead and over.
Come on, I'm waiting on you.

(33:40):
I believe God.
I believe God that it'll bejust as he spoke it.
Come on, if you got a promise, push your way up.
I'm waiting on you.
Come on, I feel the Holy Ghost.
Sister Lloyd, do you mind?

(34:03):
I know you've worked so hard.
Thank you, come on, I'm waitingon you.
There's good preachers,preachers, wives.
I feel the Holy Ghost.
Come on, receive it.
There's good preachers,preachers' wives, I feel the
Holy Ghost.
Come on, receive it.
I'm waiting on you.
Push up, push up.
Come on in.
Let the men of God pray for youthis morning.
Let somebody could I have anypreachers that help me pray

(34:27):
right now?
Come on, come on, come on.
