A powerful call to rekindle the Pentecostal fire burns at the heart of this impassioned message. Drawing from 2 Timothy 1:6, we're challenged to "stir up the gift of God" that dwells within us—the Greek word anazapurio literally meaning to rekindle or reignite.

The sermon confronts a dangerous narrative circulating today: that Pentecostalism is dying, that the Spirit doesn't move like in previous generations, that healing and spiritual manifestations are relics of the past. But these claims contradict the unchanging nature of God and His promises. The same Spirit that ignited historic revivals remains available to us now, like embers still burning beneath the ashes of a campfire.

We've survived too long on stories of past outpourings while neglecting to seek our own encounters with the living God. Revival doesn't begin in emotional breakout services but in the secret place—your personal prayer closet. The gifts of the Spirit (healing, prophecy, tongues) aren't outdated curiosities but essential expressions of God's power meant for every believer, every service. Churches should be places where the unsaved tremble under God's presence, where bondages break, and where the sick are healed.

Young believers especially must take up this torch. Don't blame older generations for not "getting in the Spirit"—pursue God for yourself. Don't let it be said that Pentecostalism died on your watch. The time has come not to give up our spiritual heritage but to stir it up through dedication, prayer, and holy living. Are you ready to move beyond stories to experience the power of God firsthand?

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Hey everybody, this is Brother Jacob Bishop from
Waynesville, ohio, coming to youon behalf of Holiness Preaching
Online.
Today we want to present to youanother wonderful sermon from a
great Pentecostal holinesspreacher.
So, wherever you are, sit backand prepare to be blessed by the
word of God.

(00:31):
Thank you all, and may God keepyou and bless you today.
Come on, there's still victory.
Come on.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I say I know it's a Sunday morning, but we can still
get in and worship God.
I know it's a Sunday morning,but I'm here to tell you right
now there's still healing in thename of Jesus.
The world would like to tellyou there's not healing anymore.
I said I've heard preachers saythere's no healing anymore.
I heard preachers say that youcan't be delivered anymore.

(01:22):
But I'm here to tell you rightnow that that's the report of
the enemy and there's a reportof the Lord and it's going to
tell you that there's freedom.
It's going to tell you thatthere's victory.
It's going to tell you thatthere's power.
In the name of Jesus, come on,it's a Sunday morning, but I
believe we can get in the Word.

(01:42):
We're having a good serviceright now, but I believe we can
get in the word.
We're having a good serviceright now, but, as, as brother
Hurst says, the spirit.
When we say we're worshiping inspirit and truth, it includes
the word.
So I'm I hate to, I hate to.
Well, actually it's notstopping.
The spirit's still going to bemoving.
But I'm going to open up myscriptures.
Uh, if you have your Biblesscriptures, if you have your

(02:12):
Bibles, if you have your Bibles, open up to second Timothy one
and six.
Sorry, little backstory of thisscripture.
Paul is talking to Timothy andPaul's in a place where
everybody's left him.
Paul's in a Roman prison andhe's talking to Timothy and he's
trying to pass on the torch.

(02:32):
He's trying to pass on thespirit and he tells Timothy.
He said remember to stir up thegift of God, that is only by
the putting out of hands.
The verse right here is 2Timothy 1 and verse number 6.
It says Wherefore I put thee inremembrance that thou stir up
the gift of God which is in thee, by the putting on of hands.

(02:57):
As I was studying, going overthis scripture, the stir up,
that part's what.
That's the part that stuck outto me.
So, as Brother Hurst would wantme to do, I went to Strong's
looking for the Greek, and theGreek is anazapurio, and that
word means to rekindle orreignite, and I believe in this

(03:18):
day and age, we've got torekindle and we've got to
reignite some things.
Come on, we've survived toolong on ashes and rev.
Reignite some things.
Come on, we've survived toolong on ashes.
And revivals from the past, come on, the stories are not
enough.
I'm all for the stories, I'mall for the testimonies, but I'm
telling you right now, it's gotto be for today.

(03:39):
I'm telling you right now, stories are just stories.
Come on, we're raising ageneration just on stories.
We're getting rid of theexperience and we're just
talking stories.
I grew up hearing stories, butyou've got to get it for
yourself.
I studied in brother milesclass, where he had a study in

(04:05):
philosophy and a peculiar person, platoism.
Plato had a philosophy that theideas were the reality and that
the physical was just an imageof the reality.
But my thing, right here I'msaying that's wrong.
The ideas are just ideas, thestories are just stories.

(04:27):
But until we put that into anexperience and we put that to
the word of God and we get itfor ourselves, all we have is a
story and all we have is an idea.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Come on, you got to put it to the plow.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
It's not.
We stop just talking about itand we start experiencing it.
Come on, the word of God saysto stir up the gift.
Old revivals are great, but oldrevivals are exactly that
they're just old revivals.
This church has been throughmany of those such revivals.

(05:02):
Our week long revival WithRobert Martin out Martin out
here talked about all the time, but as good as it was, and as
powerful as it was.
It's an old revival.
There's new revival.
Come on, I don't want to die.
I don't want Pentecostalism todie.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I heard people say that this is the last generation
of Pentecostalism?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
It's not.
There's still power.
There's still power.
It's not time to shut it off orto put it in a drawer, but it's
time to take it out.
Come on, there's still power.
I've heard it said.
I've heard it said this part'sto young people.
I've heard it said this partsto young people.
I've heard it said by an oldergeneration and not you guys, but

(05:50):
I've heard it said the youngpeople Don't get in like they
did in my day.
Or the spirit doesn't fall likeit used to, or it'll never be
like it used to be.
And again, I said I heard itsaid this is the last generation
of pentecost, and I've heard itsaid they'll never get it Like
we got it.
Have you guys heard some thingslike that?

(06:13):
Oh, it'll never be like it wasin the 70s.
It'll never be like it was atasbury.
It'll never be like it was atthe great awakenings.
We'll never have healingsanymore.
We'll never have feelings likewe did.
We'll never be so drunk in thespirit that we don't know what's
going on.
We'll never be so deep into thespirit that we don't care
what's going on.

(06:34):
I've heard it said time and timeand time again.
But young people and old peoplealike, it's time to prove them
wrong.
It's time to say I've got aspirit that's still alive, and
it is the same spirit of the oldrevivals.
It is the same spirit ofIceberry.
It is the same spirit of thefirst and second great awakening

(06:56):
.
It's by the same spirit.
Make the stories and therevivals that you've heard
reality.
Don't rely on past experience.
I went through years.
We're lying on the spirit.
I fell at youth camp.
I went for years surviving onold wine.

(07:19):
There's new wine.
The new wine is the same wineand I'm here to tell you right
now it's still for today.
Somebody's got a fire.
Those stories are a pile ofashes.
That's my title.
There's still a fire.
Those stories are a pile ofashes.
That's my title.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
There's still a fire in these ashes.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
It's just a pile of ashes.
And when I was working on thissermon I began to think of when
I went camping when I wasyounger and I'd wake up earlier
than everybody else Because Iwanted to look at the ashes and
I wanted to walk over and Iwanted to stick a stick in it
and start messing it around, stirring it around, stirring it
around.
But sooner or later, when youstart doing that, there's a fire
.
If you stick your hand in thoseashes, you'll realize it's

(08:00):
still burning.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
If you stick your hand in that ashes.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
You're going to get hurt.
Something's going to happen.
There's going to be a reactionto that fire, and when you begin
to stir it up, and when youbegin to stir it up, it'll start
to burn.
I hear them talking about howstirring it up is wrong and
stirring up a revival is wrong.
But I'm here to tell you rightnow, according to the word of

(08:25):
God, that's what we're supposedto do.
They'll say I'm just emotionalor I just want to be hype, or I
just want to get in, and it'sall about the emotions and it's
not about the word of God.
But my Bible says to stir upthe gift of God.
My Bible doesn't say to sit ona pew and not ever get up and
worship.
That's not what my Bible says.

(08:46):
And I'm not here to tell youthat revival starts in just a
breakout service.
That's a lie of the enemy.
That that revival starts injust a breakout service, that's
a lie of the enemy.
That you've got to have abreakout service to start
revival.
Revival starts in your ownpersonal time.
Revival starts in your prayercloset.
The fire doesn't get stirred upright here.

(09:07):
The fire doesn't get stirred upwith a loud song.
The fire doesn't get stirred upwith an anointed message.
The fire gets stirred up whenyou set aside time and you say
I'm gonna read that word of god,I'm gonna spend time with the
lord, I'm gonna get thatpersonal relationship.
That's where the fire starts.
Come on.

(09:28):
It's time that we stop relyingon an outpouring.
It's time we stop relying on asong to get the spirit for
ourselves.
Somebody's got to say I'm goingto stir that flame.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Somebody's got to do it or it's not going to get
stirred.
And God will have somebody todo it?

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Who's going to call an all-night prayer meeting for
revival?
Who's going to fast for revivalBrother Jarvis talks about at
the beginning of every year.
He sets aside time for us tofast.
But who's going to fast forrevival?
Who's going to lay aside hiddensin?
Come on, in order for us tohave revival, some things have

(10:17):
to be stirred up that aren't theashes.
Come on, you've been worryingabout it and you're saying why
ain't I experiencing revival?
Why ain't I being filled withthe Spirit?
But let you hide sin.
Personal experience.
You may feel anointed at sometimes in your ministry and God

(10:37):
may use you at certain times, but if you have hidden sin in
your life, you're on the way tohell.
Come on, you're not going toexperience true revival with
hidden sin in your life.
Come on, statistically, there'ssome in here.
That's why I'm saying it.
I know this is a good church, this is a spiritual church, but
statistically, some of y'all gotsome things hidden and that's

(11:00):
got to get stirred up.
I went for years thinking thegifts of the Spirit were kooky.
I went for years thinking itwas just a thing the
charismatics did, and we triedso hard to not be recognized

(11:21):
with charismania that we've putaway the gifts of the Spirit.
Come on now.
They're still for today.
I went for years not evenknowing what the gifts of the
Spirit.
Come on now, they're still fortoday.
I went for years not evenknowing what the gifts of the
Spirit were.
Come on, that's my fault, probably, but I went for years
pushing them away or pushingthem back, but the gifts of the.

(11:45):
Spirit are still for today.
It's not just a wild servicewhere people lay hands on and
people are healed.
It's not just a wild servicewhere we have tongues and
interpretation.
It's not just a wild servicewhere somebody walks up to you
and they speak a word to you, something they ought not know,
that they shouldn't know.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
It's not just a wild service, the gifts of the.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Spirit aren't just for a revival service.
The gifts of the spirit shouldbe in every service.
I'm done with a sinner walkingto our church and not knowing
we're a Pentecostal church.
I'm done with the sinnerwalking in and not knowing that
the spirit is still reaching out.
Come on, when can they walk inand not tremble under the power
of the?
Come on, when can they not walkin and not tremble under the

(12:30):
power of the?
Come on.
When can they not walk in andnot tremble?
I want to see the gifts of the.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Spirit.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
I want to see the healings.
I've been praying about thisfor weeks Because this sermon
was laid on my heartSpecifically for my church.
When are we going to seehealings again?
When are we going to seeoutpourings again?
There's people that have notbeen filled with the Holy Ghost

(13:00):
that are here right now.
It's God's will to fill you.
He's not going to offer you theSpirit and hand you a rock.
He's not going to offer you theSpirit and hand you a rock.
He's not going to offer youbread and hand you a stone.
It's still for today and I wantto see the breakout services.
I want to see the people filledwith the Spirit.

(13:23):
I want to see souls saved.
Isn't that what we're pushingfor?
Souls saved when can they walkin?
And we never even talk to them.
They'll sit on the back pew andthey'll sit through the whole
service and not feel invitedinto the house of God.
There's bondages that have beenon church goers For their whole

(13:55):
time coming to church andthey're not free.
Still, you've been sitting onthe church pews and you're bound
.
I'm not just saying this.
I don't say this often, but Ibelieve God has laid this
specifically On my heart.

(14:17):
There's people here today Withbondages and they're still stuck
and they've been in church foryears.
There's people here today thathave stopped believing for their
healing.
Come on, don't we believe inhealing?
Don't we believe that we canlay on hands and the sick can be

(14:40):
healed?
Don't we believe that we canlay on hands and the lame can
walk and the blind can see?
Isn't that what we believe?
I'm going to say it again, andthis is my closing the spirit of

(15:01):
old, those old ashes, that firethat's still in it, is still
for today.
Why don't you come in and youstart to stir it up?
Come on, young people.
Don't let it be said that thespirit fizzled out in your
generation.
Don't let it be said thatPentecostalism ended with you.

(15:24):
Come on, you've got to get infor yourself.
If you're saying the old peoplearen't getting in, is that what
?
If you're saying the oldergeneration isn't getting in and
that's hindering you, forgetabout that.
Get in for yourself.
Forget about it.
Worship for yourself.
Forget about it.
Get in the spirit for yourself.
Come on now.
It's not time to give it up.

(15:45):
It's time to stir it up.
Come on.
That's my altar call Come rightnow if you need a move of God in
your life, If you need healings, if you need saved, if you need
bondages broken if you need arevival, and that's all of us.
Let's come to the front.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Let's pray, kneel or stand, it doesn't matter, but
the spirit can still fall on aSunday morning.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
