Speaker 1 (00:19):
We walk a mongst ghosts every day, be it sights
of war and strife, are poverty and horror. The twisting,
snaking paths are beautiful but can lead us to some
things undiscovered and terrifying. From the Mississippi Delta to the
jungles of the far East, the dead demand to be acknowledged.

(00:43):
This is what we do here. Welcome to the House of.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Asher and hello everybody. This is your host, Steve Asher,
and I hope you guys are doing great. You know,
it's been a long week, lots of crazy stuff going on,
but I do always want to thank you guys for

(01:10):
joining me here. I am trying to make sure we're
doing this a little bit more frequently. Have my hands
in a couple of different projects. So that's all I'll
say about that right now. But I do have to
acknowledge for those listening on Spreaker, iHeart Spotify and all
those wonderful podcast formats that carry me. Thank you so much, Danka,

(01:32):
wherever you're at, I appreciate it. You may also be
listening to me on YouTube at the home channel of
the House of Asher. If so, please like and subscribe.
As always, the more that we get out there, the
more attention we get, and it does better with the

(01:53):
algorithms and all that nifty space age stuff. You gotta understand,
I'm just a cave man. Your electronics frightens and confuses me.
I'm an analog man in the digital world. But that's okay.
I should also put this last little bit on the
end of that. Please check me out. Either go to

(02:16):
Google and typeing Steve E. Asher. You can also go
to Steve Asher dot studio dot com. That'll take you
to my web page. It covers everything from House of Asher,
history from the Dark Side, my latest books, and all
that kind of nifty stuff. But without further ado, let's

(02:38):
get into it. There's a market that I frequent where
I live here just outside of Salem Salem, Kentucky, and
they usually have folks that are there working the counters

(02:58):
and the delhi and whatnot. Well, I've been researching a story.
I heard of an area in an adjoining town Smithlye, Kentucky,
and it was a place called Three Rivers Rock Cory.
I think it's been brought up by another company, but
they still have Three Rivers in it anyway, and I'd

(03:21):
heard about some weird goings on. And this actually came
from an older friend of mine named Lisa, who used
to tell me this story about her grandfather. You know,
I've touched base on talking about bloody bones and things

(03:42):
like that, the different kind of stories your mom or
dad would tell you to keep you in bed, where
you run out, creeping around, farting around outside anyway, And
she shared a story with me, and for whatever reason,
it's stuck. And so basically what was said was that

(04:06):
her grandpa talked about this creature. To hear the description,
you would think it's something along the lines of a
goat sheep type man. But it was pretty big, pretty muscular,
really strong, And they'd always sell her, don't go creeping outside,

(04:32):
don't go out to the barn and mess around with
the cows and you know, mess with the horses or
anything like that. Stay in there because the goat man
might get you. Which I never realized there was more
than like one or so stories of goat men in Kentucky.
Apparently it's sort of a trope. Well, I started asking

(04:54):
questions locally. Some people have heard of the Rock Quarry,
some people had heard of weird stuff that region, but
it usually wasn't together well, I was speaking to some
of the ladies at Tabco here in Salem, which is
a market slash gas station slash pizzeria. It's a little
bit of everything. And and I asked them, you know,

(05:17):
because I understand I've been here about six months, and
I stay fairly tight lipped about my writing because I
you know, you want people to get to know you
before they just write you off as a kook. So
I said, hey, have you ever heard of a I
don't know if it's two rivers three rivers? And they said,
now we've heard three rivers rock quarre. I said, is
it down by Smithland? And they said, yeah, yeah, it's

(05:39):
a it's kind of a desolate area, which is actually
pretty there. The thing about anywhere where you're going to
have limestone and quartz, any water that collected it is
super blue, is really beautiful, really radiant. And I said, okay, okay,
and I said kind of motioned to come closer to me,

(06:00):
and I said, hey, okay, I'm not a kook, but
I'm gonna ask you something. What do you guys know
about some weirdness down there? Like a goat man or something.
A couple of the women completely just completely backed out
of the story. They didn't want to get into it.
But there's always one in the group. And so this
little blond haired lady said, oh, yeah, you I've heard

(06:21):
that story. I said, well, can you kind of tell
me a little bit about it? And I said, please understand,
I write about this stuff. I'm not a crazy person.
I just I've always found this interesting. She said, oh yeah,
I love this stuff. I love all the you know,
old oral traditions and folklore and stuff, so are automatically
made her friend right. And she said that she had

(06:42):
always heard that, yeah, there was weird stuff down there.
There was stuff down there you don't need to mess with,
don't try to interact with. And if you get a
weird vibe or hear something, get up out of there, okay.
And I said, well, I've heard stories that were going
back to like the fifties before. And I said, uh,
you know, it's a shame that I wasn't around here

(07:03):
when stuff was popping off more. And she she kind
of laughed, and she said, oh, well, there's a hunter
I was talking to not long ago that was down
in that area. So I'm like, really, okay, fill me in.
And she said they were down there. They were hunting.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
It's probably like a twelve twelve point buck, a good size,
good sizeable buck. And this thing would weigh hundreds and
hundreds and hundreds of pounds, big, big old boy.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
M hm.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Well, I said, okay, Well, how to go? Says well,
they shot a deer. I said, well, good for them,
you know, because deers are a danger. You know, they
take cars out all the time out here in the country.
You got to you have to keep the population under control. Well,
she said, well, it started off fighting good, but they

(07:59):
shot the deer and it kind of ran off down
into overraven. That happened. Sometimes you don't always get a
good heart shot. But it was so big it still
had enough power to run off. And I said, well
what happened? Says well, they gathered up their stuff and
started heading out after it. Okay, okay, they said. Well,

(08:21):
it took them about fifteen minutes of where the blood
trail would lead them off into this deep, denser part
of the woods. So the creature went down in there,
and it looked like it fell somewhere amongst in there.
Then they could see where something began to drag it

(08:45):
drag it up and over fallen logs, all this stuff.
And I said, okay, well where do they end up
finding it? They said, well, what they found was a
carcass that had basically been totally eviscerated, just torn to
shreds and more or less just some meat on the

(09:07):
bone and the bones are kind of broke up, scattered,
and I'm like, in fifteen minutes, and she laughed. She
said that was what was really weird about it. I said, well,
what do people think is going on? Said, well, most
people think it's probably a panther. I'm like, okay, I
mean I could see a panther being pretty pretty vicious,

(09:29):
but that quick. And they said, well, I think a
panther can carry about twice or a little bit over
twice this body weight, and so if you have, you know,
one hundred pound one hundred and fifty pounds panther, it
could probably carry close to three I mean, if it's
a really big male panther. But that's where the kind

(09:55):
of the whole story of something else in the woods,
and so I'm thinking that's not really goat or sheep
like behavior. So there it is. It's very weird. They
don't know I would. My plan is to go down
there and try to do some EVPs and and all that.
I would just have to get some permission to be
down there on or around the property. You always wanted

(10:18):
to get permission. But something is eating deers, just eating them,
gobbling them up in fifteen minutes. You know, I don't
even know if a pride of limbs just talk come
out that quick. So there's that. That's the latest news

(10:42):
on that, and definitely going to be following it up,
definitely set up new interviews, try to do some newspaper stories,
things like that. So always keep up with me, always
follow up, because you never know what's happening ahead of

(11:03):
us on the storefront. But please make sure to tune in,
stick with me, follow my pages, Please like and subscribe
to me. If you have suggestions and stories that touch
on this or other interesting stories, do let me know.
But I want you to go out there and enjoy

(11:25):
those beautiful last days of summer, get some sunshine on
your face. But remember as the sun sets behind the
pines and the shadows grow long, always lock your doors
and keep an eye out down your hallway, under your bed,
maybe back through that small little path into the woods
behind your house. You never know. You might have some
sort of strange, cryptied ghost or other type of booker

(11:48):
waiting for you. But there is always knowledge and fear.
Don't let it cripple you. Take it as a learning
moment and do care for one another. Love one another
as I love you. But above all, my dear friends,
always stay scared. H
