Speaker 1 (00:10):
Most of those among us are happy to welcome amongst
the daylight to do those pedestrian things that most people
call their lives. But some of you, however, wish to
dig dida into the darkness. That is what we do
here at House of Asher.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Won't you join us? Yes, Serie, Baba, our Barbara, whichever one,
welcome indeed to the House of Asher. I am your
host and humble scribe, Steve Asher. You can learn more

(00:51):
about me at steveasher studio dot com or just google me.
For some reason, people like.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
To hear my stories. And I appreciate that I got
twelve books out working on more, and I'll talk about
that more in another episode. But what I want to
touch on today is sort of a a conundrum for me,
and I'm trying to figure it out. The more that

(01:23):
I get into paranormal subjects with people, the more that
I really encounter people in the life. And what I
mean is, you know, people that watch paranormal shows religiously
that you know, are all about thinking they've you know,

(01:48):
the refrigerators haunted or something like that, and I've seen Ghostbusters.
I'm not saying it's not possible, but all jokes aside
what came first the supernatural our mental illness. Okay, slow
down before you freak out. I'm not saying everything that

(02:11):
appears to be a ghost is a mental illness, and
I'm not saying everything that appears to be a mental
illness can't be somehow supernaturally linked or at least exasperated
to the point where it's more of an ongoing problem
and becomes a true psychosis. Now, a lot of supernatural

(02:32):
theories will attribute like straight up mental illness to possession
by evil or dramatic spirits. This anything the displeasure from
whatever god or goddess that they worship, maybe whatever sacrifice
or homage that they did was not acceptable or was

(02:55):
not met with favor, eclipses, terry, gravitations, curses, original sin,
you name it. Don't really subscribe to a lot of that,
but I know that there's a lot of people that
swear that, you know, hey, I'm a Leio, so I'm

(03:19):
going to be like this, or you know, I dated
a lot of Sagittarius is man and they're just like
this or they're just like that. So I think some
of that we can kind of throw our own personal
trips on and and then you're kind of left with, Okay, well,

(03:42):
now you're pitching holding to this. Oh, I'm a libra,
so obviously my behaviors is going to be this. I
think we tend to kind of pick and choose that
kind of thing what we feel is the best attributes
of that, or god forbid, we have a coworker, a friend,

(04:03):
ex love or whatever. Of course you're going to sign
the absolutely most demonstrative face to that any kind of
negative baggage, and that unfortunately Tyson with the mental illness too.
Of course, that's sort of narcissistic behavior, could be considered

(04:24):
maybe even schizophrenic behavior, especially if you speak to them
and they kind of deny it, act like they don't
even know what they're talking about. Been there, I've seen it. Spooky,
And that's where you have to really step back and go, look,
is this a dynamic mixture of chemical and electromagnetic events
within their brains doing this or is there something more?

(04:48):
Is there something darker, more foul, something that's creeped in
to their spirit at this point and latched on. You know,
you have some people that would look at supernatural things.
Now understand that's a wide supernatural and paranormal is a

(05:11):
wide category, okay, but most people would try to attribute illness,
like I said, again, to God's curses, spells from personal acquaintances.
I've known people who have had spells put against them,
and most go, I don't believe in it, so it

(05:33):
didn't affect them. It's kind of like the thing of
going you're hoping a cross up to the vampire or something,
and if you don't believe, all you're doing is just
wasting your time. That being said, though, you will have people.
You will have people that would utilize the supernatural to

(05:58):
quell what ever personal demons they got. And I have
really found people who really really go really far down
the rabbit hole. And so like, okay, say you listen

(06:19):
to Tom, Tom and Bob's paranormal podcast. That's great. Enjoy that, man, Okay,
Well over here, maybe they got slighted by this other
group of people. Maybe they felt slighted by the other people.
Maybe they're jealous of the other people. Maybe there was
some interaction romantically between something that there's a lot the

(06:43):
paranormal world is very incestuous, man, and it's it's very clique,
and there's a lot of what's what's the word gatekeepers? Okay,
if you play right, just like they want you to generally, Jenna,

(07:04):
they'll let you kind of play in the sandbox and
you kind of know the same faces because it's the
same ones. It's always at the cons the same ones
is hearing that, and that's great, have fun with that.
But then you also have some people who are social
climbers that are really on each other's backs and they're
ready to cut a throat at a drop.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Of a hat.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
And then as insane as that is, tying into other
psychiatric abnormalities, then you have, like I said, the people
who like certain podcasts that's your preference, and hate another
podcast because it's not them. That's kookie. Then even worse,

(07:45):
you have these men and women who kind of go
from paranormal hosts to this and that to different writers groupies,
paranormal groupies. Have you ever heard anything like that?

Speaker 2 (07:56):
It's a trip.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
When you see it up close and personal, it's very
off putting. So if you're a religious person, all you
can really do is pray to God. These guys kind
of get their heads right, and you just keep going.
And you have people that are very kind to you

(08:19):
and they're supportive, and then there are some people who
try to derail your career, try to whatever, And sadly,
there's a lot of that in the paranormal there's a
lot of that in supernatural circles. And I don't know why.
I don't know why. I think a lot of people

(08:41):
are really wanting to be seen, they want to be valued,
they want to feel as if what they say and
think and feel matters. But sometimes that's a detriment of
other people, and then that's where the kind of narcissistic,
destructive qualpy these come out, and people I keep my

(09:04):
circle pretty darn small, and there's a reason. Even more recently,
I've learned that not everything, not everything as shiny as
gold or whatever the old expression is. I've learned that

(09:28):
at the end of the day, I'm gonna do me,
and at the end of the day, all I can
do is try to treat people right. And I've had
other discussions with other podcasters and radio show hosts and
things like that, and they all have some crazy story

(09:48):
of someone trying to, you know, hext them or whatever.
Are I don't know, maybe they didn't return their attention,
or maybe they pulled back their attention because of abusive behavior,
and they're trying to cut their throats, they're trying to
dog them, and they're trying to tear them down, and
it's it's like middle school. It's it's, it's it would

(10:10):
be really funny if it was not playing at it
in real time. But honestly, God, at this point, I'm
on the fence. I think certain things that in the paranormal,
especially if it bears good fruit. If it bears good fruit,
most likely it's a positive thing. If this is something

(10:30):
that has you grinding your teeth, stain up all night,
being angry, cycle texting, cycle, calling people, and doing your
absolute best to destroy somebody, to me, that's a call
for help, and I sincerely hope anybody in that situation
gets help, not just for you, just for your family

(10:52):
and for your own health and your own safety. But
I would like to see in twenty twenty five people
commit to trying to make a better, safer circle for
people in the paranormal, to where you're not going to

(11:13):
be lambasted and taken advantage of and used as points
to go, oh, okay, well I've got this many followers,
so I'm more important or I've got, I've put in
this many whatevers, Okay, so that means what I'm doing
means more than someone would say with five hundred subscribers

(11:35):
or five subscribers, if they're saying truth and they're trying
to bring a positive I support all that. And at
the end of the day, that's really all you can do.
All all you can do is be supportive and hope
for the best, but protect yourself, keep your energy around

(11:57):
you pure, and really really use to get a discernment
that God gave us to not be dazzled and bsd
by low quality people w are out for your money
or your time or your attention, are whatever they can

(12:19):
take from me because they're there. And I pray that
we all have a safe, safe new Year and things
just keep rolling into the positive and we all gain
new experiences and can have peaceful lives. And with that

(12:40):
being said, I want to thank you guys for tuning in.
Please check us out at iTunes and all those different
you know, Spotify, all those different ones Spreaker. But I
want you to go enjoy that day, like get out
there and get some on your face, guys. But as

(13:04):
the sun sets behind the pines and the shadows grow long.
And sure to look down the hallway, look out your
back window, look down that wooded path behind your home,
and definitely keep an eye on your DMS and in
your emails and in your voicemails, because you never know
what kind of cuckoo maybe stalking you. But that's why

(13:32):
we have the laws. What the long story short is,
enjoy that time, and please, my friends, remember to stay scared.
