stop you from reaching your peak. But honestly, you're the reason that's reach.

prepacket pickup on Wednesday, right alrighty, And I've you remiss if I didn't
mention our sponsor celebrities, Bar andGrill Maxire is doing some incredible things over

(10:09):
there. He just opened a juiceit up. He's in negotiations for purchasing
a local bar in Highland now wow. And he's got celebrities going in the
state special. So if you wenta nine ninety nine stake special, head
on over to Celebrities and get it. Get a celebrities dip if you want
instead to, or they got youknow, a fish sandwich. They got

(10:33):
a lot of good food there.I just had the Celebrities dip and believe
me, I could not eat thewhole thing, and I took some home
for lunch. So yeah, especiallyif you guys want to catch you know,
Monday night football, Thursday, youknow, even on Sundays, that's
a great spot to just go thereand chill and and and you know,
Max has got some big muscles andeverything. So my mom's favorite thing is

(10:54):
to go and have a steak specialand get a hug from Max. I
thought you were gonna met Max's muscles, Like, hey, make sure you
tone it down when you're over thereand have a great time. Well no,
I'd be like as happy as shegets when she gets a hug.
I'd like, hey, Max,you know, give her another huge,
awesome stuff. I just saw Maxtwo days ago. We had dinner over

(11:16):
there, and good guy man.I really do appreciate him and everything he
does for the community in general andSambordino County. He's all over right now,
So a good job, Max.Keep up the good work and keep
paying those Sam Bernardino sales tax dollars. We appreciate you, all right.
I'd also like to mention our othersponsor that's been around for about ten years

(11:39):
now, Green Shack Marketplace. Idon't know if you guys have eaten there
at their deli, but right overthere off of Genevieve and Highland, they
have some incredible sandwiches right there. They got some the Mafia meatball. I
just had the Green Sack signature withadded avocado. Oh and Manil has this

(12:01):
new bread that is like it's likecrunchy on the outside, but as you
get inside it's all good, goody. Yeah, so like it's it's weird,
like it's a kind of bread thatyou have in the sandwich, and
the sandwich always squirts out the sidebecause it's so goody, Like you say,
you have to bite the sound.I don't know Anyways, it's good
stuff. So make sure you headover there and visit uh Manila at the

(12:24):
Green Shack and order some good stuffand see a load of Jerry and Ardine
in there, and they're all havinga good times. It seems like they've
been around for a while, rightforty years? Yeah, yeah then,
and they've really supported me the wholetime, you know, not everware of
wavering every single month for ten years. I mean, that's awesome, man,
keeping this show going. So Iappreciate her, that's awesome. Yes,

(12:48):
uh, And now I do havea little history, are you guys?
Now for a little history? Yes? Should I wait? First of
all, you know, I'm gonnado the sam Renandino stand Out of the
Week first, because you know what, this is my show. I can
do what I want right right right. And the Sarradio stand Out of the
week is don't tell anybody that Imade her this though. You cannot tell
her. But Cheryl Weeks is aSamurai. You don't stand out of the

(13:11):
week, all right, you can't. No one can tell it, right,
is the secret stuff. But she'san awesome lady. She doesn't want
anybody to know she don't you daretake her picture. If you take your
picture, well you'll can get therat. But she makes sure those meetings

(13:31):
go smooth. Yeah, she makessure that every single speaker slip is always
turned in right. She's always inthe background sharing events, making sure the
dots get connectedious And she'd be thefirst one to say that very humbly,
that she's just behind you know, she's just doing her do whatever. But

(13:54):
she really does love Sam Rendino. So I want to give her some props
and she deserves them wholeheartedly. Showwe love you, Yes, we love
you. Congratulations Yes, And thatis brought to him by Ben Chavez and
the First Lineage Site Services. Ben'sa good guy. He's trying to help
local businesses and people and of forprofits be you know, showcased, you

(14:18):
know, show a little love tothem because we don't always get recognition,
and it's good to get recognition oncein a while, right. And you
know, miss Weeks, she's constantlydoing stuff like I see her doing things
right, and she's so nice,Like I don't know, she's not a
hugger, but I always want togive her a hug, you know,

(14:39):
you know how big congratulations to Ilove San Bernardino group on Facebook for just
hitting over eighty nine thousand followers, were eighty eight thousand for the longest,
so welcome to the eighty nine.Well, like it's any any anything over

(15:01):
eighty five thousand. When my lastfew got taken away destroyed, it's like
it's all gravy now. So I'mjust wrong with it. But believe me,
if you've been looking at the standardsviolations, man, they've been throwing
them at me like like candy man, it's and it's it's weird. It's
like a dog sale here, orsomeone will call someone a bad word in

(15:22):
a spam post or something. I'mlike, man, so but I having
good. I brought them down,so we're getting closed. But I think
they took away the anonymous posting. That's right, Yeah, they gave us
a little punishment. Nope, isposting for you. Wow, So some
people are all happy, I guessyou know, but as soon as it
comes back, it's coming back team. And I'm like, I think one

(15:43):
of those violations should go off ina day or two. On those posts.
The ones that I really do loveis the one where you know,
whoever it is posts a coyote talkingabout I found this dog on fortieth Street
and the post. The comments justgo wild on that one. So I
have to be careful because some ofthem say I have this animal for sale,

(16:06):
and that is the standards violation.Right, there's a badger one like
that too. There's actually a bearerone. Do not post coyotes for sale.
Yeah, I've actually stopped. I'veactually stopped letting those through unless they
specifically said lost animal or something likethat, because if it sells sale then

(16:26):
But yeah, that's a foot Thatis a funny one. That funny and
I enjoy it too. I don'tget to read everything on there, but
I do you know, if you'rearguing on there, I don't read it
at all. I just delete thefirst comment. All goes away and I
never think about it again. Butyou guys could like to read it,
so you better be quick or I'lljust a leader, right though or not?

(16:48):
All right? I love sound, you know, doing the good on
the We are on the red carpet. We had. We had a lot
of fun at the event over there, the only Empire event. Tristan Douglas
and Daniel team just put something reallyspecial together for all the local artists.
And that was super cool, Sowe appreciate. I mean, I don't
know if Tristan knows, but itwas mentioned also several times in the city

(17:12):
meetings. So I didn't I haven'tbeen to the last two city meetings.
I didn't feel comfortable going to thelast two city meetings team. I felt
that it wasn't the place for meto be. I felt like there's things

(17:33):
going on in our city that isn'tmy fault. But sometimes it feels like
he getsplained on me and I don'tlike that. It makes me feel like
like like I don't know, likeI did something wrong and I didn't.
So I kind of wanted to stayaway from that that for a little while.
And mean, because if you don'tfeel like doing a positive speech for

(17:57):
somebody, then shouldn't be doing apositive speech for somebody, right, you
know, I did my whole timeten years ago of talking smack and you
know, trying to recall Fred Charettand get you know, the mayor out
of there, and we did it. You know, we didn't we didn't
recall Fred Fred still sticking in there, but we did get rid of the

(18:17):
mayor and all that stuff. Andnow I realized, Wow, I got
a worst mayor in his place. So, like, all that hard work
to get rid of one mayor andI got a worst mayor in his place,
right, So then I like realized, man, it's really important to
start spreading the love, spreading thepositivity, but not ignoring what's going on

(18:40):
in our city. Do I notignoring it, but but acknowledge that there
is some bad things, but workhard with solutions to solve them, not
just complain about them all the time. So I'm trying. I'm gonna go
to the next meeting, and Ithink I've gotten a good rest. I

(19:00):
watched the comments. I'm disappointed insome of our people. I don't feel
like they are really taken to considerationwhat it takes to put together an event
in the city and then to havesomeone come and screw it up and you
did nothing wrong, and then foryou to blame it on others. That

(19:22):
kind of stuff makes me think thatyou know, you've never really been to
events and understand what's going on,never really said anything over Sam Reddino,
right, but overall, Robert, are we moving in the right direction?
Yes, absolutely we are. Andthat's what I think they're afraid of because
you know, as we move inthe right direction and the things that people
have said are coming true, they'renay saying doesn't necessarily hold the spot right

(19:48):
because most people like to be aroundpeople who are positive. So if you
continue down the path of being positiveand bringing in that goodness, that will
outrule the negativity. And I meanpeople like to align themselves with people who
are like minded. So I think, just bring your goodness, bring what
you believe in, and just continueto inspire people to do good and be

(20:11):
good. Do good. Now,one thing we can do good here,
it is team put up some Christmasdecorations. Put up a holiday night,
yet no Thanksgiving happening. Give ita week, rob right right right?
For my you know, for myshow this is in this is within the
week, right. I understand Ihaven't put mine up yet either, but

(20:34):
for the Christmas time, it'd benice to feel jolly. Well yeah,
you know, so I'll touch onthat on a little bit. So I
lived on forty eighth in Los Cienda, right so fourth ward. And the
one thing that I'll tell you isif you don't see that there is those
Christmas lights from the neighbors. Insome cases it's not that they don't want

(20:56):
to. We do have a lotof elderly neighbors that don't have the ability
to put their lights up. WhenI moved up to that zone, you
know, thirteen fourteen years ago,I had the little kids and the first
year was kind of sad because wedidn't see those lights. Right. Well,
come to find out they were older. And I'll tell you what.

(21:17):
So Terry, my neighbor at thatparticular time, I remember walking over to
them and I we switched our lightsfrom colored you know, red blues and
greens to solid whites. And Iremember I knocked on his door and I
said, hey, Terry, wouldyou mind if we put up some lights
for you. By the way,Terry at that particular time was eighty four

(21:38):
years old. Oh and he cried. He said, it is awesome,
and that's a good idea, Likeif you have extra lights, like everybody
he has an extra stan like Igave mine to my neighbor who moved.
They moved from the to hear fromthe Philippines, right right, and they
actually put them up, but theyweren't older. But like, yeah,

(22:00):
you're right, Yeah, there isalso the cost prohibitive correct with the electricity
bill. But there is like candycanes things that are yeah. Well,
well, the coolest part was weposted up the lights for him. We
threw on a auto timer, sowe'd only have them on for an hour
and a half. Okay, SoI took my son and my daughter.
We would go up there and putup the lights, you know, throughout

(22:22):
the year, let it run forthat hour hour and a half. Again.
He just said it has been overeighteen years since I was able to
put them up, and you don'tunderstand how much that meant. So,
hey, guys, it's not thatin most cases it could be that it's
not that they don't want to.It's just that we need to go ahead
and meet our neighbors and see ifthere's anything that we could assist him with.

(22:45):
So that's really nice. That's veryimportant too, just spreading the Christmas
cheer, and like you say,you never know how you can touch somebody
else's heart. So with the smallgifts to yeah, bred zucchini. I
don't know if you guys make persumonbread and stuff, but sometimes there's extra
loafs or whatever, give it toyour neighbor. I get so much good

(23:06):
food from my neighbors. Like I'vemade sure they're happy. We give gifts
to all of our neighbors. Wejust like do like a little Christmas pack
and give it to them. That'scool. My gifts go right up on
the wall. They're called avocados, lemons, per simmons, pomegrants, whatever.
And she's like, I love thegifts for my neighbor. And the
other way comes tacos and chilianos. They're like, oh, like you long.

(23:29):
Going from the other fence comes theribs in the in the smoke turkey.
I'm gonna have to go swim.Yeahatos, saving money, yeah,
I'm good with that. We giveto Molly's don't get all that. So
if you guys mean to what I'vebeen doing lately is I've been helping Amy
refurbish the front of her house forher landlord to try to help her with

(23:52):
some Christmas money. Then also I'vebeen making with with with her. She's
making to preserve nerves and jellies andsome tomato sauces, and we're gonna give
away some of those as gifts forChristmas too. So use that what we
actually grew as gifts and save alittle money too. Because saving money is

(24:15):
important. Right now, everything's expensive. Man, kick him on butt,
all right, So now we willwell, thank you Ben Chob for first
line a side service. We appreciateyou very much, sir, and thank
you for the sponsoring that. Andif anyone else would like to sponsor a
new segment that I am bringing up, it's going to be a business segment
and Sam Rennadino Business of the weekand your business will always be mentioned right

(24:40):
there with that Business of the week. So if you would like to do
that, it will be twenty fivedollars a week, one hundred dollars a
month. You're welcome to do it, and they will get your your business
mentioned here every week. And thenalso I'll met you you you go too,
so we'll throw you on the maingroup as well, and you know
you can help me out and youcan help local businesses out. Team.

(25:00):
Thank you very much. Maybe wejust come up with a business right now
that I'd like to help. What'sone that i'd like to help? Okay,
El Taco Lauro on thirteenth in EastStreet, elk Taco Laura. Go
to El Taco Laura right now onthirteen in the East Street and that's a
Samarnadino business of the week. ElTaco Laurel's got some very good Mexican food.

(25:22):
It is not super spicy, itis not the you know, like
blandish, but it's just perfect. He's got some flawing in there that is
really good. His plates is chilireanos are good. I mean, it's
good food. So head on overthere and order from He's a nice guy.
He's in there every single day, works hard. And you know he
has a homeless encampment oftentimes right nextto his business. So he needs us

(25:45):
to go in there and shop andspend some money. Okay, I went
in there last night. I gotone of those little peanut candies de de
la Rossa. Is that what itis? Masafon? Yeah? Those they're
so good, like you could. You can only eat a little piece of
a time because you drive out, drive out, So just make sure you're

(26:11):
you don't eat it if you areallergic to peanuts, because that's all yeah
really yeah, but it's really good. It is. It is awesome.
All right, here we go,you guys ready for some sam nat You
know history? Yeah, all right, yeah, STI history tippit of the
wig. All right, this bookthat I'm reading from was given to me
by supervisor Joe Barka just recently Portraitsin History, Samario County Medical Center eighteen

(26:37):
fifty five to nineteen ninety eight. And I have heard that they have a
new one in the works. Ohnice, So probably you probably had a
stack of these, you know,in his office, passes him out,
and I'm glad that I'm on thatlist. Thank you, Supervisor Boka.
I appreciate it all right. Itwas only a few minutes after seven on
November morning in nineteen fifty four whena fashionable Cadillac convertible was seen traveling down

(27:03):
Kendall Drive in North San Bernardino.Do you know where I'm going? Do
you know where I'm going? No? All right, we'll just see a
little farther here. The car haddeparted three hours earlier from Las Vegas on
its way to Los Angeles. Thedriver was a diminutive black man. The
sleeping passenger in the back seat wasthe driver's valet, who had originally was

(27:26):
a driver, but due to anincreasing fatigue, had asked his employer to
take the wheel. They were rapidlyapproaching a stalled car in the road.
The occupant's two lady tourists had missedtheir turn at Kendall Drive. They stopped
their car and turned around, andas they did, they collided with the
Cadillac. The injured were rushed tothe County Hospital by ambulance. In those

(27:49):
days, most all severe trauma patientswere evaluated first at County Hospital, usually
by an intern and or a resident. The serious injuries in this accident involved
a fractured limb bone of one ofthe ladies, a left eye, and
facial injuries of one of the driverof the driver of the Cadillac. As
a result of the impact, thelatter's face was crashed into the steering wheel,

(28:15):
rupturing his left ocular globe. Aswas the custom following evaluation of such
an eye injury, they examining andturned Doctor Buckley Doro telephoned the attending staff
member of the Olphomologic Service for hisrecommendations to the management. When it was
discovered that his patient was a notedsinger dancer actor Sammy Davis Junior, the

(28:41):
youngest of the popular singing group thewill Maston Trio, arrangements were made to
have him transferred to a private hospital, usually the County Hospital. Reserved only
for the care of the poor incritical situations. However, where one patient's
life would be endangered by transferring himor her to an other hospital, the
patient will remain at County Hospital forhospitalization and management. Mister Davis's injury was

(29:07):
not life threatening. Later that day, mister Davis underwent surgery with a removal
of the irreversibly damaged left eye bydoctor Frederick Hull at the San Fernandino County
Hospital. After the surgery, misterDavis quipped, in his usually optimistic way,
that he was lucky his leg wasnot irreperably damaged. He was he

(29:27):
was an exceptionally talented tap dancer,so basically, Sammy Davis didn't want to
He's glad you didn't lose his leg, right right. That's that hard cracked
me out because it was like, you know, you're you're in a very
traumatic experience. I'd be losing youreye. But he's still a little bit
optimistic right now. It's amazing,so kind of cool, uh, A

(29:51):
stiff a step forward to the tothe end. Several years later, after
his hospitalization, Sammy Davis Junior,in appreciation for his ex like care at
Samardino County Hospital both organized and participatedin a fundraiser to benefit the soon to
be built new Sam Marnidino County Hospital. This gala fair, held in the
old Swing Auditorium, featured such wellknown Hollywood personalities as Judy Garland, Jim

(30:18):
Garner, Tina Luise, and DannyThomas. So a little bit of Samnidino
history. You know, Sammy DavisJunior helped build the new county hospitals.
Wow, that's amazing. In theSwing Auditorium that you know was destroyed in
the plane crash in the eighties.Right, I never went in the Swing
Auditorium. I assume you haven't aswell. You didn't go, Yeah,

(30:41):
so these you know, that waslike the go to place for my parents'
generation. So it's still interesting tosee these little pieces of history pop up.
And I just recently saw a littlebit of history of the Swing Auditorium.
Now it doesn't exist anymore. There'sa I think a few pieces of

(31:03):
burnt uh like the seats seating left. That's about it. But there's actually
an electrical box at the National OrangeShow that is an original electrical box for
the Swing Auditorium and the only pieceof the original infrastructure, or there might
be sewer pipes or something left therethat's in use. A little bit interesting

(31:29):
history right there. So we dogot it all here in Sanamordino. All
right, we got some events wedefinitely need to mention here. We got
Miracle on Court Street. If youdid you go last year, it was
fun and you have all They postedthe tree right there, the tree lighting,
the tree lighting there, and thenthat they have like fourteen days or

(31:53):
but what comes before that? TheTurkey again, Well, I'm gonna get
you. We're gonna do. We'regonna be a whole segment on Turkey trot
is before this. We're gonna talkso much Turkey. Yeah, we're gonna
have We're gonna have damon Turkey danceacross there right now. Yeah, but

(32:15):
okay, Miracle on Court Street pleaseDecember fourth through sixteenth, right there at
Court Street Square. They got trainride, story time craft, letters,
and cafe ice skating. It's reallynice. They double the size of the
ice skating team. It really neededto be done. It was fun last
year, but now it's even moreof good. There are all kinds of

(32:37):
events coinciding there and then you cango have fun, didn't go eat a
fire. Marisco's right there on CourtStreet. So yeah, yeah, yeah,
I got caught up right now.It was really quiet, just because
I was just remembering, you know, back in the eighties when you brought
that up right now, right whereon the corner of Ninth going down to
Court Street, that e Street,we still have those older, you know

(33:00):
buildings there, which now is apawn shop, you know, getting to
Corton Street. But I was justthinking, I remember all the theaters that
used to be there, and Ijust remember walking down the street as you
know, seven or eight years old, and just that smell of the old
butter at the movie theater. Therewas a theater there, and then there
was that adult theater. Yeah.I was like that's where you went.

(33:24):
Yeah as a kid, like hey, Mom, like they got cats in
there, let's go in there.Thing. I was like, Mom,
like, I want to go tothe movies. They got cat movies in
there, right, So sorry aboutthat, guys. I just you know
went off left eld on that andmy mom did not beat around the bush.

(33:45):
She just said that's a sex theater. You are not allowed to go
in there. Yeah, So yeah, I was thinking about it, and
I'm like, wait, hold on, where were those buildings? And that's
right where the new county building isit a state building which is across the
street from the regal county's count it'slike a courthouse. It's it's so yeah,

(34:09):
so that's where I was like, wait, hold on, where were
those You're giving a lot of new, big buildings, but but there's some
people that take just keeps going tocraftings and they're never going up, but
don't down there. There is definitelyrevitalization down and then losing the carousel mall.

(34:30):
I mean it's gone now, teamhe's gone gone. That is now
prime real estate. Right. Youdon't have to like remove the noxious or
the asbestos or the you know, azardous material. It's gone. It's gone.
This is a piece of property thatcan be built on. And this
is what I'm hoping will entice someoneto come on in here and do that.

(34:52):
Like what what other downtown into thewhole United States has that much land
with a proper with with a populationof our size available They don't name one.
Yeah, it's if a company wantsto, they could come in here
and really, you know, youknow, built something incredible for us,

(35:12):
and we'd shop at it. Notonly were we shop on it, we
would actually bring the Turkey Trot backdown to the downtown area. What's up
with that? Let's talk turkey.Yeah yeah, now now it's done for
the turkey like so uh not DanielTurkey Trot. We had a little hiatus

(35:32):
with COVID where we uh we justwalked around the golf course. Correct,
But every other year, hundreds andhundreds, at one point thousands. No,
Actually, we're getting there. We'regetting that's our goal. That's our
goal. We had seven hundred andabout fifty people. Yeah, well round

(35:53):
I round up. Yeah, it'saround, round it up, take it
back. But that's still incredible, you know, and we've consistently done better
every single year. Yes, thefirst Turkey Trot was held at sam Manuel
now the sixty six ers Stadium.Yes, and I was I was EMC

(36:15):
for that one. I can remember. It's like run Samber, Latino,
run for your life. Right. The amazing part of that. It was
like one hundred people. I thinkwe have one hundred and ten. But
the team was mighty right, andwe were so excited because it brought in
a lot of energy that the cityneeded and a lot of pride. I

(36:36):
mean, we still have people thathave been with us since we started.
Yeah, yeah, and I know, I know. I think Carrie Davis
was he was a mayor then andhe ran. He ran in it too.
Actually, Carrie Davis hid run andthen he came back and he greeted

(36:57):
all of the participants and yeah,it was really special. And he took
a picture with the young man atthe time, I think he was at
Coholm High School and he won.He was a long distance runner and Carrie
Davis took a picture with him andeverything. But you know what, the
Valdivia was always too out of shape. He could he could never do any

(37:17):
of that stuff, right, Youcouldn't even participate. You know. One
register he had, he did showup to one before he was mayor,
remember him before he was mayored? What what did he do something before mayor?
He did he showed up. Itwas because it was in his ward.
So the first race was in hiswards. So he did show up.

(37:38):
When I write the history, therewon't be very much. We'll leave
him one sentence or something. Butyou know what's great about it, we
still have some of the same partners, right, so our photo booth guy
that we had that first race hasbeen with us for nine years. You're
still with us. Yes, ourvolunteers are still with us. We have

(38:00):
of volunteers from the local high schools. Also an organization called Jack and Jill
of America. And so we're reallyproud about that. We're proud that we've
been able to develop partnerships and mostimportantly our partnerships with our sponsors, will
Sam and Well, Dignity Health, think Wise, Credit Union, right Right,

(38:22):
Stater Brothers, Real, we havea lot Alexander Foundation. Yes,
we put it. I've said ita lot of times. I should remember
them, all right. So,I mean we have quite a few partners
that we've established. I mean,we have some new ones that we've been
able to establish over the years, most recently since COVID, Amazon, Sack

(38:45):
Health. There's a lot that youknow, if I'm missing you, please
blame it on my head, notmy mind. But we have them on
our shirts, and every year wechange our shirts, and we're really proud
about that. We make sure thatthey're sport tech shirts. So Robert and
I both have on our shirts fromthe seventh year. And with that,
it's just a matter of just instillingthat pride, because you'll walk around the
city you'll see people like, hey, you have a Turkey Trot shirt on.

(39:07):
And really, the whole vision behindstarting a Turkey trot was one,
It's a fun race, family, fun tradition, instilling health and wellness,
and most importantly creating that sense ofpride. There's a guy that walks down
Valencia and all the way down nearto the hospital back and he wears a
turkey trot or you've got a graveyHe just yeah, I see him every

(39:31):
year. So people they care aboutthis. It is important to them.
It's it's becoming a Thanksgiving tradition wedo. And I'm really excited about that
because I remember when I, youknow, to my husband, I was
like, I'm tired of going toOrange County and we're going to start a
race because I I've been we've bothbeen participating in Turkey Trotz for years.

(39:51):
And then one day out of theblue, I just started making phone calls.
And I'm thankful for that opportunity. And you never shawn the people where
you started. So when we whenI started reaching out to people, I
reached out to parks and recreation.I reached out I think just to the
county and somebody in general, andthen I was directed to Eric five,
who at the time was a lieutenantof sam brandin a police art Yeah,

(40:17):
and he was overseeing the Community EmergencyResponse Team. And Eric's like, well,
you know, and he was overspecial events. And so that's how
I got connected with CERT because hewanted to have a fundraiser, but it
wasn't a CERT event if the netproceeds were going to CERT, okay,
But thankful for that, Thankful forthat opportunity, Thankful for the fact that

(40:38):
you know, there was partnerships thatwere developed during that time. But it
needs to be noted that you know, that development really wasn't SERT saying due
to Turkey trot. It was SERTas an opportunity for us the partner and
to make sure that we were gettingthe message out there about our community emergency.
Oftentimes you unraised for organizations to helpthem, and that doesn't always mean

(41:04):
that they're the organization that will seethe funding every since, right, right,
So what we've been able to dois continue with the Sam Maridino Turkey
Trot and being able to impact otherorganizations and other communities and result of the
Turkey trot, and that's where youhear the name Alexander Foundation. But one
of our actual people that we supportis the Exonerated Nation. An Exonerated Nation

(41:29):
is an organization that helps people whoare wrongfully incarcerated, and that is something
that is very important to us nearand dear, because most people who are
wrongthily incarcerated don't have the means andthe resources like those that might have been
incarcerated and they're transitioning out. Sothat's one outlet for our money and what
we support. But then we alsohave supported the American Legion. We have

(41:52):
supported many of other organizations throughout theyears, but the ones that may once
you hear about is Exonerated Nation. Also Legion most recently supported a turkey giveaway
and a foundation that's passing out socksand turkeys to the needy. And so,

(42:12):
if anything, our our what ourvision is to make sure that we're
impacting those that cannot help themselves, but working with organizations that might not be
as large as maybe some of themajor for five on one C three organizations
you know about. Yes, msounds like a way to lose some good
calories before I feel it about belly. Oh man, that's awesome. And

(42:39):
I've lost a lot of weight sincelast Thingk's giving team, so you have
to be ready to row. Yeah, I'm ready. We'll see. I
don't. I don't get to rollvery far as there's like a I'm on
a leech a microphone leach but likea but but me and my partner like
yeah, fun, just screaming itout. Run have a good time,

(42:59):
and he's yes, yes, soyeah, so again. The Turkey Trot
is that sanm Borndino International Airport isa five K and a ten K run.
Five K is three point one miles, ten k is six point two.
It's a flat race, is actuallyon the tarmac. We're very thankful,
and we forgot. I forgot totalk about the main sponsor, the

(43:21):
San Berndino International Airport. They're actuallyone of our sponsors and then our sponsors
for over the years. Mike Burrows, the CEO the airport, is an
avid runner, so he's always excitedto host the San Bernardino Turkey Trot,
so we're very appreciati of that.I have one technical question. Last year
there was some technical issues for ensuringlike I put my name on the line

(43:47):
for this with a lot of peopleonline. We're ensuring that this time is
gonna be smooth. So yeah,we've done some things to take corrective action.
Yes, we've hired a race director. We've actually heard hired a certified
person to confirm that our race isactually what we were saying it is.
Because I think the concern was TSAcame in and made changes and so we

(44:09):
had to make changes right away thatimpacted our ten K and so it wasn't
that we didn't know about it,but to make sure that we did everything
appropriately according to the governance of theairport with TSA. We've met with the
airport already in advance and it's alreadybeen sent to TSA. In terms of
our route. Our route the certifieris an actual certifier with the National Track

(44:34):
Association. So the ten K andthe five K, the challenges that we
had last year, we've done everythingwe could do within our means. If
TSA makes a change that morning,at least now we still have an idea.
That paperwork has been submitted to TSAas well. We also have it
that was kind of an emergency, right, but we've also met with them

(44:57):
again or through the airport. Wealso have a race direct there and well
a person helping us with the race. You know. We we pride ourselves
have always been the director, butwe've hired a company to help us.
Okay, all right, well itsounds like we're getting ready to rumble.
So for you it's gonna be easy, the easy money. Just show up
and talk. I can do thatall day long, and we'll have music.

(45:21):
We have Geo Ruiz, who isour DJ. We we still have
our signature photo. Is a goodguy man. Yeah, the city.
He's got a big toy event Ithink with the city of San do you
know, of course street Square. He has a great outreach, like yourself.
We intentionally select our partners, andwe select people who are doing great
things in the community because we wantHe likes it too, Yeah, gets

(45:45):
out there and has fun. Sowhen people go out there, like,
how much time are they like expectedto be out there? What time does
it start? Yeah? Sure, that's so, that's a good question.
Thank you. The race starts atseven am with the ten k, and
then the five k starts at seventwenty. Okay. Most runners that are

(46:05):
participating in the ten k usually aredone within forty five minutes to an hour.
The five k, most runners aredone within thirty to forty five minutes,
and even walkers and I start withrunners because usually you'll see a lot
of runners, we have a lot. One thing that's different this year.
We have a lot of piecers comingout. We have the Sam Bernino Pacers,
lomer Land Evelopers who are one ofour partners. They're also bringing runners,

(46:29):
and then I've reached out to Riverside. So we're gonna see diversity in
terms of just a number and typesof skill sets. But one thing that
we make sure is that everybody stayssafe and it's a safe route. We'll
have identify our cones so people knowwhere they should be and most importantly,
just have fun. Okay, andparking included. Parking is free. You

(46:51):
know how far is that from rightthere next to the race route? Okay,
So for to get into the they'llbe signage. We normally we have
a sign that's lit that says eventhere in an aero park directing people to
their parking. The parking is rightacross the way from the departure and a
rival gate at the airport. Coolcool any planes, any plane's going to

(47:13):
be there moving, you know,at the time of the event. There
has been times, but we willnot be on the side of the tarmac
where there's activity. But there wasa time, I'm not sure last year,
but the previous year where there wasan Amazon flight that was landing.
Oh that's cool. Yeah, it'sreally cool. And there are some park
planes that are going to be Andsince we don't get any more air shows,

(47:37):
team, it's cool to do someevents at are a report right there.
I wish we could have air showsstill. Maybe someday we'll figure that
out. Oh the last one waswhat three four years ago. It's just
they have so much air traffic theycan't shut down the runaway anymore. It's
sad. But what they are doingis some other stuff. Yeah, they're

(47:57):
doing a concerts in that plane.I mean, I like airshows. I
want to hear that SR seventy onerace, the speed, the sound barrier
boom, like go as a kid, that was awesome stuff. But I
do understand the airports is making moneyand helping sam or Nadino prosper so that

(48:21):
is a good thing there, right, And they have SB Cares, which
is their five O one C threethat also is one of our sponsors.
Well, we have ten minutes left. I would like to speak about.
This is a Native American heritage monkand we celebrated as a Title seven Indian

(48:42):
education at the school board meeting withyou. So our team, I was
sin Jo Weber. I went inthere and we we sang some some songs
for for the school board and forthe parents, and that was awesome.
Assembly Member Ramos was there. Thebird yeah us and they they sang some
bird songs and very elegantly too.It was awesome. You know, whenever

(49:08):
you can get to hear some goodbird song like it always clears my mind.
I think I saw that on hissocial media post. Yes, yes,
that was pretty cool. It wasreally Colos is awesome. And he
had a son and his nephew.Yes, yes, James Jr. Awesome
dude. Yes, yes, theythey really, They really love doing it,

(49:30):
and that's to me, that's that'sawesome. You know, that's really
caring about your culture and going outand showing it off. Right, That's
just that's what I like to do. For Sam Renardino, so I appreciate
it when I see it happening, and for other for other groups and organizations
and and and we're so lucky team, we have a reservation in our you

(49:52):
know, next to our city,in our county. Like reservations are are
really are rare across the United States. There seems to be a lot in
California because uh, assimilation happened uhless frequently in sam like Samarnio desert high

(50:13):
desert areas, just because there wasless people. That's the only reason.
But like, it's still really coolto have these groups here because we get
to immerse ourselves in their culture duringtheir pow wows or their yuka harvests there.
And then they got these casinos, team like and these casinos they make

(50:35):
money. They provide work for ourpeople. I don't know how many people
I know survive by working for Salmonand well years, I mean careers they
keep, they keep samaran you knowgoing, and not to mention the profits
that they generate go back into thecities around them. And right, and

(50:57):
yes, traffic is bad, butyou know what, you gotta good with
the bad as as it comes in. So absolutely so, so every time
you get mad and you're on thatVictoria exit, you know, try to
get off on the Highland. Justremember that they're helping us rebuild our parks
or the beautification of the freeway becausethey keep that freeway. Not I just,

(51:22):
I just I just hope that werealize how much that sam Anwell does
for us and and think a tribalmember seriously, I mean like I hear,
I hear the naysayers a lot ofall their different things. That prostitution
over there. I'm like, haveyou been on G Street? You know,

(51:44):
like, I mean seriously, that'sI get shorter, like your chair.
Well see, like I'll let youwhy this happens is because I go
like this and it touches the leverand it takes down. We got Robert
hitting hydraulics over here. Well, and mister Ramos is awesome. Like I

(52:07):
was like, hey, mister Ramas, you can come on my radio show.
He's like, looks at it,looked at it, justtant. This
is my friend, you know.Like so it's hard to get him on
because he's so busy, and Itry to make it so it's like not
ever hurting his schedule. You know, I want him to come on and
be happy to come on my show, but he is He's just awesome,
and you always get really good insightinto what's going on. Like last time,

(52:30):
I believe I got insight into thepatent. She had hospital property and
before it, you know, inthe very beginnings when they just verily founded
at Surplus State Land. So thatwas awesome that that to get that hit,
that little story and you know, like not everyone up there is happy
with that project, but I thinkit's important. And if you are weary

(52:52):
of anything being on patents, justno, there is two fences. You
can't just jump one fence. There'stwo fences, right, so you get
you can't get in these pump waterfences. Right. This is like a
you know, a secure facility. So you know, if if those crazies

(53:14):
ain't getting out of there, youknow, I do believe that people that
are challenged. Oh yeah, ohyeah, well I mean no, no,
some of the people in pat arecrazy, dude. Yeah, thank
you for clarifying that they are reallyYeah. Yeah, And I'm not going
to tell you how I know either. But I didn't go. I did

(53:37):
go in. It was it wasfor a pizza delivery, and they took
away my keys too, by theway, and they really scared me bad.
I was delivering for two guys andI went to know there and they
like, you know, opened thisbig door with a key and that slammed
behind me and like I was likewalking, They're like, oh my gosh,
am I gonna be able to getout of here. But anyways,

(54:00):
it is a good spot I thinkpersonally to have a homeless shelter because every
single place we've tried, you know, the nimbies come out in mass right,
not in my back guard. Ilove to help the homeless, but
not in my backyard. I wantthe homeless to be oh perfect and have

(54:20):
a place, but not in myback No, don't, don't sabotage every
single thing. So somebody's doing somethingabout it. These are people. Ask
him where they were born, walkup and do mask them. If they
say they're from La well, Iunderstand they got dropped off here. I
understand that there is about, youknow, twenty percent that has to tipen.
But most of the people that areon the streets are from this area,

(54:43):
locals. Yeah, and fortunately someof them. One of them is
my best friend and lost his wifeto you know marine you know, had
a great job of the city andVan Nolan took his wife from him and
everything else. And that's he liveson the streets now, you know,
so it can be rough out there, that's for sure. So you know,

(55:04):
bring your family together this Thanksgiving yep, right now, and bring them
to the trot. Be happy thatyou got Yeah, go to the Turkey
Trot first, right, yes, please do. And if come trotting,
you come in right. So ifyou see this tomorrow, if you see
this show tomorrow or the next day, how are how do those people get
into the Turkey Trot? So ifyou're seeing this tomorrow, you can register

(55:27):
on site at two nine five NorthLeland Norton Way at the San Borandino International
Airport. We'll be at the luxA building, so just come there from
one to four pm. We're registeringpeople on site. The registration is actually
closing I think around midnight tonight,so it's only a day that you're going

(55:49):
to miss out. But we'll beback up and running on Wednesday from one
to four pm. And then youcan also register the day of the event
at we're opening up at six amso you'd be ready to go. And
what's the cost. The cost isthirty five dollars for the five K and
forty dollars for the ten k andI am picking up the Starbucks coffee at

(56:13):
what time? Six am? Ibelieve six am, and I will get
the coffee as quickly as I candown there to Leila. You guys can
have your coffee. What's included inthe thirty five dollars. So what's included
is everybody gets to finish your metaland if you registered prior to November the
seventeenth, you are guaranteed a shirt. Yeah, and we always make sure

(56:38):
that you get a lot of fun. You get the signature photo, which
is a complimentary photo. We havea photo booth on site where if you've
been or if you've been on ourwebsite, you'll see that is a very
fun, infestive photo. You candress up or you can just go and
take a picture. But it's afamily photo. Calease, dress up,

(56:59):
dress a little kids, animals, pups can come right yes, no no,
no pups. Now the TSA wantto allow animals on site, so
unfortunately we cannot do that. Thatwas brought up. Yes, so what
color? What color are the shirtsthis year? I cannot tell you.
I wanted to make sure I knewwhat color, so you know it is.

(57:21):
It's one hundred. It's a funcolor. It's a fun color and
it goes with everything for you.Seconds, I just want to ask,
how is your tenure at the SalmonUnion Fied School District as a school board
member? Is it cool? Youlike it? I like it. It's
awesome. I love being able tomake an impact on our future. And

(57:44):
you know, we're on a highrise in terms of doing really well on
the upswing, focusing right now onour overall strategic plan for twenty thirty,
and most importantly, making sure thatwe're growing and taking care of our scholars.
And you're you're finishing up doctor Hill'sterm or doctor Rogers, Doctor Rogers,

(58:05):
yeah term. And so you don'thave to run this year. You
run. I'm ready in twenty twentytwenty. Okay, So it's just damon
right now. We just I'm runningin twenty twenty. Oh you're running this
one too? Oh November four?Yeah, okay, so you're you're running
as a team then no, no, his his campaigns has started, so
he's running in March twenty twenty four, So he has to actually win in

(58:30):
March to run with you in November. We'll get to work, getting you
better start walking out there, Davidget too woo. And if you live
in there me please vote for adamon Alexander. He's definitely has two votes
right from my house of course, and he's done everything that I have asked

(58:50):
him to. If he couldn't doit, he's given the next inclmation why
he could not do it, right, thank you. The things that that
could be maybe the center divider downValencia, which we've had so many different
directors when it comes to public,Oh my gosh, it's hard. They
get in there and they don't knowwhat you know. They're like, I

(59:12):
have a million projects, you knowin the one in the rich area needs
to get done, like I understand. I do understand. So we're gonna
try to mitigate that center divider whatwe can't. But otherwise he's on it
man. Every time I ask forbusiness, the dignity health for Denny's right
there talking to the manager's participated lettingeverybody know here all the time, right

(59:39):
comes in here, lets us knowexactly how he feels. And then he
uses eye up there on the daisand that's very original, right, different
than what everybody else uses up thereright, Yeah, he's never ever used
Yes, I don't think, Idon't know, so those kinds of things
attract me to that kind of politician. Oh, he's also a marine submarine,

(01:00:02):
right, trained to figure it out, right, though they trained killers. No,
