Speaker 3 (00:19):
President Trump says Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire.
Trump posted quote, there will be a complete and total ceasefire.
Trump adds this as an official end of the twelve
day war and will be saluted by the world. He
concluded by saying, God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God
bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America,

(00:39):
and God bless the world. Iran's supreme leader is speaking
out following the country's missile attack on the US air
base and cutter. Ayatola Ali Hamani posted on x quote,
we did not attack anyone, and we do not accept
anyone's attack, and we will not surrender to anyone's attack.
This is the logic of the Iranian nation. New York

(01:00):
City officials are demanding that state leaders amend the law
allowing some miners to avoid criminal charges for violent offenses.
The Raise the Age law, which went into effect in
twenty eighteen, put sixteen and seventeen year old offenders in
family court instead of criminal court.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
The mentality on the street is that nothing happens to
those under eighteen who possesses or uses a gun. This
is the biggest challenge for us right now, and it's
an unintended consequence of the raised age law.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
That's Bronx DA Darcel Clark, who says the law emboldens
adults to give guns to teenagers because they'll avoid stiff penalties.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tish says since twenty eighteen, the number
of shooters and shooting victims under the age of eighteen
has doubled. Clark, Tish and Mayor Adams announced a two
hundred and eight count indictment against nineteen gang members and associates,

(01:53):
including nineteens, linked to a dozen shootings in the Bronx.
And the Supreme Court is allowing the Trumpet Minute stration
to deport convicted criminals to so called third countries, even
if they have no connection to the nation. This puts
a hold on a federal judge's ruling. I'm Jim Forbes.

What's up and beyond. You have a great weekend or what?

Speaker 11 (07:44):
Yo?

Speaker 12 (07:44):
I had a fabulous weekend, brother. I'm a lot of
wonderful events happening. You know, Junetiev was being celebrated throughout
the nation, throughout the state and specific specifically throughout the county.
A lot of events throughout the Inland Empire. How about yourself, brother,
I saw you up there about the lake or something like, Yeah,
we got.

Speaker 9 (08:01):
To go up into the to the crest lines or
actually our Sanarentino Mountains up to Lake Gregory, visit Jaws,
the Great carp and and hang out. We'll talk about
that in a little bit. I'd like to mention our sponsors,
Golden Pizza and Wings over on Olive and Waterman Avenue
are Golden and Highland and Golden Pizza and Wings.

Speaker 13 (08:24):
They actually have a spot in Colton too eight oh
three West Valley Boulevard. Then they have another spot in
Fontana at one.

Speaker 9 (08:35):
Seven four to eight zero Arrow Boulevard and then a
rialto at two oa East Baseline Road right, So there's
different spots for different pizza. So if you're in the
county and you still need some some really decent pizza
for a reasonable price. Hit them up for their special
seven fifty five plus tax, all day, every day right

(08:57):
there at Golden Pizza. Hey now, hey now, And if
you're like me and you have to get some diabetic
stuff for your mama, they do have chicken salads and
you can get a chicken salad and you know, won't
shoot their blood sugar up too much.

Speaker 14 (09:10):
I imagine the wings probably don't hurt too much either,
if it depends on if you have them.

Speaker 9 (09:15):
Sauce or not, or if they're read or not. Okay, okay,
And my mama likes the honey, but you know, sometimes
I do get her the wings and I'll give a ranch,
but good food. Definitely try a Golden Pizza and wings.
And then I'd like to mention Pal Charter Academy. But

(09:37):
their summer school is starting.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Soon here I think it might.

Speaker 15 (09:40):
Is it?

Speaker 9 (09:41):
What day is it today?

Speaker 14 (09:42):
Today?

Speaker 9 (09:43):
Yep, it started on the twentieth, So there's summer school
term is in session over there, so you might want
to uh uh enroll them for the fall, right, so
uh get in contact with them through Pal Charter Academy
on Instagram, or you can just look up all my
different posts right there on Facebook. We'll get it. We'll

(10:04):
talk to them, and then you know, they're really focused
on helping the kid build a good foundation, and they
got all the necessary tools over there to help kids excel,
so definite, I mean, and they also have the schools
to help parents excel too, you know, because.

Speaker 14 (10:23):
That's because it is effort.

Speaker 9 (10:26):
Yeah, it's you can't be a good student without a
good parent a lot of times. You know, it's they
needed they needed both, yeah.

Speaker 12 (10:32):
And there to me, they're both equally responsible in the
education of for the parents of their child and the
for the school system at the product. I hate to
say it that way, but you know, for the future
of the child, and it's a it's a team team effort,
right because sometimes parents, some parents are guilty of thinking
that the school can do everything.

Speaker 14 (10:52):
It's really starts in the home, right, So you're.

Speaker 9 (10:55):
And we definitely know like nothing can do everything. I
love that jet that the AI post you posted.

Speaker 14 (11:04):
Very interesting, Yo.

Speaker 12 (11:05):
It caught my attention and I figured share it because
it's like, and you know, when you it's almost applies
to life in general, when you're over reliant on anything
you could lose a skill set, and sadly, it seems
like a lot of the at least the fifty four
students that they were following an MI t were half
the population. Was of the fifty four were utilizing AI

(11:30):
all the time, heavy users of AI versus the ones
that did not use it or rely on it, And
it showed us distinct difference between their cognitive ability, their
abilities to remember to do critical thinking, their creativity.

Speaker 14 (11:44):
You know.

Speaker 12 (11:44):
So it's it's it's kind of a warning to don't
be over relying on it. You have to make sure
that you're using your scruples and using your mind.

Speaker 9 (11:54):
Think if it's something similar to solitary confinement, because it
really is a te of like not letting your brain
get all the stimulus it really should have, and you
need to work your brain. So if I don't, I
have no problem with the I I utilize it. You
know we're gonna have to we do. It's everywhere, it's already,
but yeah, be cognizant of the fact that it could

(12:17):
be just like these cell phones, very addictive, very detrimental
if you let it.

Speaker 14 (12:21):
Yes, yes, it's yeah. You have to be mindful of
all things. Everything in moderation.

Speaker 9 (12:26):
As they say, I'd like to mention our I love
Sam Bernardino standouts of the week. It all the Juneteenth
event and participants in the in our local area and
I E and uh, let's just say the whole United States.

Speaker 13 (12:41):
There.

Speaker 9 (12:41):
We go there because this is a new federal holiday
and we're learning how to make the events inclusive and
fun for everyone.

Speaker 12 (12:50):
Right, because that's the whole thing. It's for everyone. It's
an American holiday, right. It signifies you know, the people,
the enslave people in Texas hearing about the emancipation proclamation
two years later, because those the plantation owners in Texas
didn't want didn't tell them that and wanted to, you know,

(13:11):
still exploit them for two They got two more years
of exploitation before those people realized that they were free.
So this is an American holiday now, yes, you know,
America has history, right, and we have to face the history.
Is a seems to be a push to try to
erase all the history and the founding of this nation, right,
and we can't do that. We have to tell our

(13:33):
history even as individuals in truth.

Speaker 9 (13:35):
You know, to prevent it from happening again. I mean yes,
I mean if the Constitution can be changed to disallow slavery,
what that's scary?

Speaker 14 (13:50):
Might some might want to change it there, but I
could tell.

Speaker 9 (13:54):
You it wouldn't be like they think it is. It
would be the poor enslaved. There would be no color here.

Speaker 12 (14:03):
Yeah, it's gonna be a socio economic kind of Yeah,
and sadly we're kind of in the midst of that
as well as we speak, you know, we are a bit.

Speaker 9 (14:10):
So this is why we study this stuff. This is
why it's important, and it's also important for community just
to get together and have.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
A good time.

Speaker 12 (14:16):
Totally, totally, that's what it's about. Connecting is what I loved.
I attended the June Team jam and rialto organized by
Vicky Davis and supported by former Mayor Deborah Robertson and
her foundation and many others. But it was over a
thousand people.

Speaker 14 (14:34):
There was a third year.

Speaker 12 (14:35):
It's just beautiful. It was all kind of diversity there
because it's for everyone to come out and we need
more engagements like that. I would love to see something
like that happen every weekend throughout the Inland Empire where
people can gather and this, you know, network and laugh
and have fun.

Speaker 14 (14:49):
Together, make memories. You know, not everyone's rich.

Speaker 12 (14:52):
So having these kind of free events allows for people
to come out have fun, allows for some small businesses
and vendors to offer their wares and they're.

Speaker 9 (15:01):
Trying to make some money, and also allows performers I e.

Speaker 14 (15:07):
Only Now Only now Yeah, Yeah, ill.

Speaker 9 (15:10):
An Empire now Yeahland Empire Only now Yeah with Tristan Acker,
Douglas Wiggy.

Speaker 14 (15:17):
Woo West Coast.

Speaker 11 (15:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (15:20):
They did great. It was It was an awesome event.
The mayor was there, Saramonial Parts and Wreck did a
great job. So did Tristan and his team. I want
to give them a great shout out. And it was fun.
But we took our mom over there, Amy went. You know,
we just rolled around and had a good time.

Speaker 14 (15:36):
Do you go there you go?

Speaker 9 (15:37):
That was awesome. You talked to a few people about
uh for the butter.

Speaker 14 (15:42):
Who are you talking to? Robert right here?

Speaker 15 (15:45):
Oh?

Speaker 14 (15:45):
We have a guess.

Speaker 9 (15:48):
Alters in the house.

Speaker 11 (15:52):
Hello everybody.

Speaker 9 (15:53):
I am kind of used to being around because I didn't.

Speaker 16 (15:57):
Want to speak up because people will be like.

Speaker 11 (15:59):
Who's talking?

Speaker 9 (16:00):
But yeah, like we got to talk to it was fun.

Speaker 16 (16:04):
Yeah, yeah, I was asking there was someone that had
you know, some nice skin creams and lotions and whatnot.
I was asking her if she had just straight shade
butter because I liked to, Okay, use shade butter.

Speaker 12 (16:17):
Jaquetta green Is she's from the region. She has a
line of shade butter that's very popular as well. I
can I can connect you with her Facebook.

Speaker 11 (16:24):
Yeah, it might be.

Speaker 16 (16:25):
I used to get some from a local vendor.

Speaker 10 (16:29):
I haven't.

Speaker 16 (16:30):
I haven't reached out to them in about a year.

Speaker 9 (16:33):
I forgot about her.

Speaker 14 (16:34):
She likes doing that a long Yeah, she's been doing.

Speaker 16 (16:36):
And she the one that I bought it from in
the past.

Speaker 14 (16:39):
I don't.

Speaker 9 (16:39):
I don't think so. No, she's she's the one that
does a lot of things with celebrities and Max over there.

Speaker 16 (16:44):
Okay, but I just want straight shade butter st.

Speaker 12 (16:47):
Okay, Now, that's what hers is is just regular shade butter.
And she has a few other things as well. But
I know that she's doing very well with it. I
know that she has a lot of repeat clientele, and
I believe our prices are very affordable.

Speaker 9 (16:59):
Yeah, and uh, then the other event we went to
really cool. We went over to the downtown Samernadino for.

Speaker 17 (17:07):
Their Junete as well.

Speaker 14 (17:09):
Stronger Together.

Speaker 9 (17:10):
Yeah, we've just missed you, you know, are doing their thing,
you know, you know, gave us a tour of their
their new space. Very very cool. Definitely the mirror and
then the tour back outside into the city of Shoe
Alley and then around and that's cool too.

Speaker 14 (17:32):
Definitely.

Speaker 12 (17:33):
They all kind of utilize that space like creative grounds
and stuff and the little walkway and you know, they
have like the cobblestone down the walkway now and they
put they put a good investment in there. Is really
nice and it's beautiful to have these kind of spaces,
you know.

Speaker 9 (17:47):
And and then they have vendors there as well, and
driving Grip there definitely.

Speaker 14 (17:53):
Ulysses is actually a board member of Stronger Together, Yes.

Speaker 9 (17:57):
And their their new team from driving like has they're
not for profit there as well.

Speaker 14 (18:02):
I think they're doing a podcast. Yeah, they're doing They're like, yeah, yeah, totally.

Speaker 9 (18:11):
Super It was super cool. We came late, so we
didn't get to see all the crowd, but it was
still cool. And if you were shutting down, so we
you know, snuck over to the the thick Thigh cupcakes.

Speaker 11 (18:28):
It was that.

Speaker 16 (18:32):
I saw that sign and I thought they made those
just for me.

Speaker 9 (18:36):
Well felt that I looked at that sign and I
made I bought them just for me, and you didn't.
You don't want it.

Speaker 11 (18:42):
Because you didn't get that kind of I didn't.

Speaker 9 (18:44):
Get a lemon bar. It was gonna get.

Speaker 16 (18:49):
We got three flavors, but none of them because lemon
out of.

Speaker 11 (18:53):
The lemon bar, talk you out of you.

Speaker 14 (18:56):
The lady did. It was the ladies.

Speaker 9 (18:59):
She's had nothing to do for two dollars more. You
can get all three like levin two dollars.

Speaker 14 (19:10):
And one of them should have been a lemon bar.

Speaker 7 (19:12):
Yees.

Speaker 9 (19:16):
Next year, I couldn't. I didn't want to buy one
lemon bar or eleven dollars. So yeah, I'm sorry. Next time,
we'll get you just a lemon bar and I won't
just skip the other one. But she tried to upsell me,
and she worked you do it team to upsell upsell. Yeah, man, a.

Speaker 14 (19:33):
Lot of people do that.

Speaker 12 (19:34):
With that being said, if you would like to be
a sponsor, yeah, hit up myself or Robert Porter.

Speaker 9 (19:42):
Anytime you want. And uh, we'd like to thank our sponsor.
Cindy and milk Jaw shaboo shaboo right across the street
from Costco right there on the hospitality. They got some
incredible food in there. They got the Shaboo hot pot.
It's really good. They heat heat up this bowl right

(20:02):
in front of you and you can control the temperature
and you drop your vegetables and meats in there and
you dip them in the sauces and you just eat
like a pig.

Speaker 16 (20:11):
Yeah, but it's pretty healthy though.

Speaker 11 (20:14):
It's vegetables and you.

Speaker 14 (20:16):
Know, yeah, definitely pretty much no carbs in there.

Speaker 9 (20:19):
Right, there's a few.

Speaker 16 (20:21):
There's a little bit of noodles, but you could it's
a very small amount. Yeah, you could just not have noodles,
but put the vegetables in the relatively healthy.

Speaker 9 (20:30):
I also took it upon myself to visit there are
other two stores, right.

Speaker 12 (20:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (20:37):
We went over there to the BBQ Korean Barbecue and
my mom and her we had the golden fried chicken.
It doesn't just has it doesn't didn't have any sauce on.
It was very tender, hot and crunchy. Yeah, the way
you're supposed to it's supposed to be, right, yeah, yeah,
so hot, like you don't you want to let it

(20:57):
cool little? Yeah, yeah, but like you buy anyone and
it's like you're tearing off a piece of chicken. It
is like falling off in your mouth. This is this
is good stuff didn't like, so we didn't get too
much because you know, my mom's diabetic. So we got
one order and we split it half. Then we walked
next door to the Mochi Nut and they have these

(21:18):
rice dogs, these rice corn dogs, but you can also
get a rice cheese on a stick, right, and there
were mozzarella with this like mochi nut like not corn do,
but like mochi nut like corn nut, like yam doughnut

(21:39):
on that corn dot. Yeah, the corn yeah, Like it
was like that. It was what they meet the notes sweet.
There was something different. It was different than the cheese
on a stick over there. We just say at the
end of the center mall like he's on a stick
and you want to try something a little bit different.
They can even roll on in a hot cheeto and

(22:03):
there's like a potato. There was some I want to
go back and try somebody. They looked so good and
they were incredibly good, so awesome. Try the Montreal stick.
Oh my gosh, their food is super good.

Speaker 14 (22:16):
They have the best chicken chicken great they're really good.
They have the whole chicken too, right now, they've got
like all the kinds of pie. Okay, well I have
to run over there and get a bird, you know.

Speaker 11 (22:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (22:30):
We got some good sponsors on this show. Golden Pizza, Wings,
Pal Charter Academy, and then of course a Milk Shaboo,
and we really appreciate them all, but the most important
sponsor of them all Motivational Realization.

Speaker 14 (22:47):

you for that. She's our number one fan.

Speaker 14 (23:01):

I drove to the carousel mall and I almost ran
out of gas. That I was poor man. And then
I go, I go, Danny, Danny, dude, do you think

(24:04):

Speaker 5 (24:08):

Speaker 14 (24:57):
Well, you know, I have a family that lives Paris.

Speaker 9 (25:01):
I guess there is nice Paris.

Speaker 16 (25:04):

It's just not part. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. So a
little fun fact. The pe on the is not for
Pacific on Paris Hill. It's for Paris. I forget his
first name, but he was like a railroad guy and
like that until he brought the railroad all over here.

Speaker 12 (25:31):
But I'm happy that you told the truth about it,
because I know you were just close to say it
stands for Pacific Pirates.

Speaker 9 (25:38):
Well, you know, we we did claim it on our own,
but I know that Cardinals were up there trying to
paint it a couple of times. Yeah, I wake up
and it'd be red and white. Were like man pain
the pee. So one time we went over there Cardinal
and we uh we we did it all up with
purple paint it. Right now, I'm just taking credit where

(26:01):
I don't deserve any, but like, you know, you know
somebody did it, you know.

Speaker 14 (26:06):
No, it's funny speaking on the Cardinal Pride.

Speaker 12 (26:08):
When we were waiting outside a little earlier, I saw
one of my old classmates from middle school in high
school shout out to Paul Miller that was driving by,
and he stopped that.

Speaker 14 (26:16):
We chopped it up for a few minutes.

Speaker 12 (26:18):
So it was good to see brothers, to see that
he's still you know, still here because you know, sadly,
we know so many people that are no longer present
with us.

Speaker 10 (26:26):
You know.

Speaker 9 (26:27):
Well, I have a very cool story similar but not exactly.
I didn't see the person, okay, but I'm looking. I'm
reading the newspaper and they're talking about, you know, unfortunately
you super bad Medicaid cuts and it's talking to the
er doctor inside of Saint Bernadine's and it's Travis Harp.
Doctor Travis Harp. I went to high school with him, Like,

(26:48):
but I thought he moved away, right, So now now
he's back. He came back home.

Speaker 14 (26:53):
Awesome. You always talk about that.

Speaker 9 (26:55):
Yeah, like to me, that special spot in my heart. Right,
you came back home, you went out and got your education,
you got your and then you came back to the
war zone. Especially for doctors, right, so they deal with
literally with gunshot wounds and stab wolds all the.

Speaker 14 (27:12):
Time, sadly, sadly, yes, sadly.

Speaker 12 (27:14):
So this just still Also they also deal with childbirths
and positive yeah.

Speaker 9 (27:20):
Yeah, but uh, I'm gonna try to get them on
the show. I just think that is incredible Pacific pirate
working right at our own r.

Speaker 14 (27:28):
Oh Men, I think that sounds like a challenge.

Speaker 18 (27:29):
Man.

Speaker 12 (27:30):
Now I'm gonna have to tap off. I'm gonna have
to reach out to doctor blackshirt at Saberdido Valley College.

Speaker 10 (27:35):
You know.

Speaker 12 (27:35):
Yeah, we're gonna have to go doctor for doctor and
whatever occupation you want to bring, I'm gonna have to
match to.

Speaker 14 (27:39):
And I'm pretty sure we need we.

Speaker 9 (27:40):
Need to show our people that we can be doctors,
we can be lawyers, we can be whatever we want
to be.

Speaker 14 (27:46):
Love that. I love that, And that's so true. It is.

Speaker 12 (27:48):
It's all possible as long as you have the breath
of life and you know, able mind, able body. You know,
and not even able mind, able body is not even necessary.
Just the gift of life and the breath of life.

Speaker 9 (27:59):
Enjoy it. And So next week we have Maria coming
on the show. She's the head of the I'm not
sure if she's president, but of the Historical Society up
in Crestline, but she's involved with the jamboree. Then we
got Dirt coming on that, the real tall dude. Yeah,
Like he's coming in and they're gonna talk about the
jamboree days up in Crestline and the fireworks are going

(28:21):
to have and things like that, a little bit of
the history. There is also a fourth of a July
event for the sixty six ers this year or too awesome.
So I'm I'm not sure if these are on for
the job. I think they might be on the weekend.

Speaker 12 (28:39):
Yeah, that's usually what happens, especially for like the cities
and counties. They usually do their celebrations on the actual weekend. Sometimes,
you know, every every six or seven years falls on
a Saturday or Sunday. Yeah, the up but usually at
the fortune lies, like on Tuesday, Wednesday or Monday, they
usually celebrate like the day before in some instances, rarely

(29:00):
even after you know.

Speaker 9 (29:01):
So, so I hope we'll be able to make it
to the symphony at Valley College.

Speaker 14 (29:05):
Oh definitely.

Speaker 9 (29:05):
It's always incredible.

Speaker 14 (29:06):
Yeah. Yeah, the year before last, it's probably two years ago.
Now do we go?

Speaker 12 (29:11):
Oh no, no, no, last year, those two years ago
because you and Amy and all the kids were out there.

Speaker 11 (29:17):
We were we've gone a couple of times.

Speaker 9 (29:19):
Yeah, Like it's always been good. But I don't know
if it was on for the July last year, was.

Speaker 12 (29:23):
It, I don't think Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know we
were out there about two years ago. I was unable
to attend last year myself as well.

Speaker 9 (29:30):
Well, well, if you want more information, to look up
the Sammonino Symphony or of course I'll mean posting all
about it. I'm on I love Sammernardino. Uh by Robert
Port on Facebook, So team up please? Uh you know,
attend these events. They didn't damn the fireworks. You know,
they always tried the bad of fireworks.

Speaker 12 (29:49):
When you go at the city council meeting and shout
out to the city council and the mayor and the
leadership for declaring Juneteenth Week is Sam Marnadino, right, So
that I was happy to see that. But there was
a gentleman that was retired law enforcement I believe.

Speaker 9 (30:06):
A captain in the fire department.

Speaker 14 (30:09):
Well, no, it was a tall, tall Caucasian man.

Speaker 9 (30:13):
Yeah, an old, old fire investigator talking about how much
he ates fire. Yeah, he's been trying to bad the
fireworks since since I've been there. Man, But like like,
I'll tell him a million times and smile when.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
I do it.

Speaker 9 (30:30):
It's not going to stop the illegal fireworks. I don't
care what you say. It's not gonna stop the illegal fireworks.
And those are the ones that are scaring your dogs
and stuff. I mean maybe a Piccolo pete might scare
your pupp I'm sorry. Piccolo Pete's are a mainstay for
for Fourth of July we're celebrating.

Speaker 14 (30:48):
I put the dog on. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (30:51):
You wouldn't. You wouldn't. You wouldn't keep your your your
your child that has problems with PTSD, or or your
veteran husband with PTSD in a situation with a bunch
of fireworks. Take them out of that, go to the
go somewhere. Yea, yeah, yeah, this is it's not the
the safe, insane ones that are gonna go crazy for

(31:11):
the July.

Speaker 12 (31:13):
And like fireworks, the illegal ones are banned there. But
you would never know because it turns into a war zone.

Speaker 14 (31:20):
Yes, I want to be to a.

Speaker 11 (31:21):
War Yeah, so you could.

Speaker 9 (31:23):
I mean you have to lead anyways if you have
those problems, because that's how it's gonna be. So don't
ruin it for the little, small, little barbecue parties. Whoever's
trying to do that, they really need to check themselves
because you know what, I grew up on the street
where the local police person took all the illegal fireworks

(31:46):
and shot them off every single year that they all
confiscated every year they come, and then I would go down,
there's a little kid on my skateboard and pick up
all the little firecrackers that didn't you know, because some
of them buy it like I, and those were legal,
and I would glegged all those up and refin. So
like we never lost any fingers or anything, you know.

(32:06):
But like you know, that was a great event for
us as kids. Now you couldn't do that now, right,
and it's a money maker or our guess just showed
up for either. So like, I mean, that's that's basically
my thing. Team I. I believe safe and seeing fireworks
have a place in the United States. And if you
want to go and see the big fireworks at the displays,

(32:28):
go do it. I think that's awesome. But if you
also want to have a little backyard thing and you're
below the two ten freeway, you know you should be
able to do that as well. So I'm I am
definitely not for banning any type of fireworks. I think
we should bring them all back and then you know,
use them in specialty spots. If you want to light

(32:49):
up big fireworks, they should have a spot where you
can go do it, right, Like the huge field or something. Right,
wouldn't that be cool? But you made the gap. Safety guys,
we have gun places where people can you know, fire
at gun ranges, right, I don't know anyways something I
just don't think banning things ever works, and especially banning

(33:09):
something that are local non for profits use to make money.
I mean, if you can give me some other way
that will replace the monies that they're making selling fireworks,
you give me a legitimate one and I'll maybe come
on to your side and compromise. But I haven't heard one.
You guys all want to ban the fireworks, but you
don't want to give more money to the non for

(33:31):
profits to replace the fireworks that you're trying to ban.
So get out of there with that idea. And of
course you'll probably get votes. But just because the council
members are going to vote on something doesn't mean that
you convince them. Right, it's important to have votes, But
just because you have a vote doesn't mean they're convinced. Okay,
So that's what you have to understand.

Speaker 15 (33:53):
Team.

Speaker 9 (33:53):
Some of our council people like to vote, and they'll
let you vote, but that doesn't mean you're gonna take
away our fireworks. Just because they're going to vote, you
don't get too scared. Just because somebody votes, doesn't or
allows something to come to a vote, doesn't mean that
it's actually gonna take place or happen. You still have
to have your four votes to pass something and the
mayor's vote, So if she wants to veto it, you

(34:15):
have to have her vote or doesn't want to vice versa,
so she can actually have the veto power or the
fifth vote on the DIAS. But if you have four
then you can kind of and the mayor's all good
with you. You can get what you want lobbied up
there at the DIAS. So I'm was offered a position,
possibly to become a commissioner here in the city of Samardino. Again,

(34:41):
I'll have to get my four votes to get on
that commission. I've been lobbying for them, so I might
get them. I hope we'll see Alice. All works, but
hopefully I'll be back on our commissions here in the
city of Samaradino. That should be fun to get back
in the groove of things and be under hopefully under
man Helen tramp So a little different than being under

(35:04):
the seventh ward but but I was just talking about
how I might It looks like it's the stars are
aligning for me to become a commissioner again. You're a
little the city of sam Bernardino, so that should be
a good way to help our history and our arts.

Speaker 14 (35:18):
That's for sure, totally, totally, will definitely go ahead, Robert.

Speaker 9 (35:22):
Yeah, I was just gonna introduce you again. Pianni's back
here and you have your great guest, so please introduce yourself, sir, Yes.

Speaker 12 (35:30):
Deep breath, yeah, cause he just can't flying around there
looking like Jesse Owens.

Speaker 17 (35:36):
I wish I had his leg.

Speaker 15 (35:38):
My name is kayem Elieza Ben Israel. The artist is
a pilgrim, a k A double g and. I thank
you guys for having me.

Speaker 17 (35:45):
Oh my god.

Speaker 14 (35:46):
I just put on my brad definitely and will let
you recuperate for a second.

Speaker 12 (35:49):
Brother, you know, because just to give a little a
little background, a pilgrim double og, I call him double
o g and and and his old government name, but
we won't mention that right. But brother has done a
lot in our community and the poetry. He used to
come out to lyrically speaking back in the day, hearing
rialto and in downtown samonn Adino. The brother is a

(36:12):
very resilient brother, very wise brother. And I know that
you're a part of some kind of competition that people
can vote for you.

Speaker 15 (36:21):
Well, since you brought that up. There were three rounds.
I made it past the first two, and I didn't
get past the third round. Okay, so but yeah, I
was thirteenth and I had to be top teen. So
I was thirteen, but I didn't. I didn't push it
as hard as I did the first two times. And
I don't know other things coming up like this. I
didn't really push that's hard.

Speaker 9 (36:38):
So I didn't make it.

Speaker 12 (36:40):
I hear you. But hey, you put a good effort
in and and you're gonna show us today why you
are worthy of that support through your amazing poetry.

Speaker 9 (36:48):
Man, So she has he has a poetry, some poetry
to share with us today. Yeah, Yanny, you have some
poetry to share with you.

Speaker 14 (36:55):
You know what, I think we might just just showcase. Okay,
I wouldn't mind hearing if.

Speaker 15 (37:05):
Okay, I've heard his works as well, and I enjoyed
his poetry as well.

Speaker 9 (37:11):
We need to get some poetry.

Speaker 14 (37:14):
Maybe, I mean you can do a short one let
brother go and then we both do a little.

Speaker 9 (37:18):
Short given up. If she gets to see, we'll have
some singing. My lady, Amy, it's a pleasure to me.

Speaker 17 (37:28):
And now you can see I'm gonna get on your
last note.

Speaker 14 (37:33):
Definitely, definitely. So what is the title of the first
piece that you're going to be on?

Speaker 15 (37:37):
Share this? Even this is in all honesty. I was
on the train like what should I do? And this
is like a signature peace of mind. It's entitled of
a lifetime.

Speaker 9 (37:49):
Mhm h.

Speaker 15 (37:54):
I take a deep breath in and short gasp it
out because it might be my last. I think good thoughts,
so not to believe this one lived as trash alas
I drop myself into shape like whiplash and quick fast
years come and go. But yo, I don't dwell on
the past. I'm just a user for the future because

(38:17):
that is something that I do have until it becomes had.
I big up my stepdad. I guess having won is
better than none. But not being with my own didn't
make me feel like a loner because I still love
my mom spermed on her. Plus, it's not in my
heart to hate, knowing how deeply that feeling can penetrate

(38:37):
and make your senses senseless. I'm not trying to hurt
your feelings. I'm too busy tearing down buildings that scrape.
My sky is so blue. I was given the chance
of a lifetime to write rhyme and scrape the souls
of your ears sublime, to rearrange your thoughts for a
meantime with a smile on my face, to seek the

(39:00):
joy in life. I loved me a lady, and so
I made her my wife. Not a chance of the dice,
but the time and the life you follow good Because
sometimes it is too much to swallow a dollar, to
borrow a few more to land. I bless God for
the ink that flows from this pen, because that guarantees

(39:23):
that you will see me again. I inhale more win
with a longer exhale, I see the bigger picture. I
will prevail. It's filled with joy and sorrow, but ultimately laughter,
and so I'll see you all and the one that
comes after. That's of a lifetime.

Speaker 14 (39:44):
Beautiful.

Speaker 15 (39:47):
Thank you very much, Thank you very much.

Speaker 9 (39:49):
So you you mentioned your your stepfather and how he
was there for you, and and your your your other
your real dad wasn't. But you're not even though it
strongly affects you, you're not gonna let it make it
make you hate or feel better.

Speaker 15 (40:08):
And I know him, and I know he loves me.
I think the thing that we all need to grasp
is understanding. You have to try to put on that
person's shoes. And it's hard being the child of this
person and stepping outside of that role to look at
him as a human being and just try to figure
out what his things.

Speaker 17 (40:28):
I spoke to my mother and she told me.

Speaker 15 (40:30):
The difficulties he had with his life, and so that
made it difficult for him to be there for us.
But I thank god that my father once separated, he
actually mad at another young lady and was with her
until his passing days.

Speaker 9 (40:45):
But he did come.

Speaker 15 (40:48):
Oh yeah, see him With his second wife, he had
my little brother, Chris, and they adopted a son. My
father does not know how to okay, so he made
a girl first. I didn't get I have not yet
met her. So yeah, my life is a big puzzle,
and at this stage of my life, I'm trying to
put it back together.

Speaker 18 (41:06):
Well, you know that that's fun, run a good time
actually doing it.

Speaker 9 (41:12):
If you know everything is That's what history is all.
About Yes, sir, genealogy. It's fascinating stuff.

Speaker 15 (41:18):
I found my I found my sister, well, I found
her daughters on social media on Facebook, and you know
you have to send a message request fordn't accept it.
I keep I keep sending a message like almost every day.
And I actually have found my sister some time ago,
but we didn't meet. We just seen each other pictures
of ourselves and our children. So I have all of that,

(41:41):
and I'm sending my nieces all these pictures and then
when they're children, so I.

Speaker 14 (41:45):
Know, like, who is this weird?

Speaker 15 (41:50):
That's us?

Speaker 9 (41:51):
So do you have any maybe hope poem or wait,
what's your next poem? You can give us a poem
real quick because we're down the fifteen minute.

Speaker 11 (41:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (42:00):
I figured that that was beautiful. It was powerful. So
while we're on that, I have a book on Amazon.
But I'm taking that book and I wrote two more.
I'm putting them all together. I'm changing the title of
the book and I'm gonna call it Patients of the
Saints and I'm going.

Speaker 17 (42:18):
To release this with Musical Poetry CD.

Speaker 14 (42:24):
So that's what that is.

Speaker 15 (42:25):
So this next piece, it kind is kind of long.
I really touched on subjects and my wordplay. I'm trying
to make a point, so I speak to get your attention.

Speaker 17 (42:37):
Okay, hmm.

Speaker 15 (42:42):
I almost want to play this and see if it'll
play on here because I really want to do the music.
But anyway, we'll go through this.

Speaker 5 (42:49):
I hunger.

Speaker 15 (42:51):
Because my body needs food to feed. But it's not
only physical. It's it's not walking down the street stuff
into the first fast food joint. I laid my eyes
on no because that just won't do. But it's you
telling me that I can make it when it just
doesn't seem like I can take it, because it just
might be your wallet that I'm after.

Speaker 17 (43:13):
You see, I hunger.

Speaker 14 (43:17):
Because my body needs food to feed.

Speaker 15 (43:19):
But it's not only physical. It's it's not that million
dollar dream broken down to a dollar a day scheme,
realizing ice goes in a cup and I like Hershey's
chocolate on top of my cream. You see, I hunger
because my body needs food to feed. But it's not

(43:39):
only physical, it's EXPERI mental. That's that piece experimental.

Speaker 14 (43:46):
Experimental.

Speaker 15 (43:48):
Definitely, I really try to bring into myself and I've
been through a lot these last twenty twenty one was
a major turning point in my life, I buried my
firstborn son, and then my mother passed four months after him.
My brothers, nobody on my side of the family came
to help.

Speaker 9 (44:06):
Me very much. God Rest, I'd like to dedicate this
show to them.

Speaker 15 (44:10):
I dedicate definitely this is for you, little Courtaigs. I
love you, boy, and I show miss you. But yeah,
that's been the toughest thing for me ever, and it's
the thing of feeling alone. I actually try to take
myself out of this life as well because I didn't
know what else to do. But I didn't feel like
I had anybody to turn to, and I actually tried
to eliminate myself. I'm sorry.

Speaker 9 (44:29):
That's not a good way to go.

Speaker 14 (44:31):
It's not a good way to go.

Speaker 15 (44:33):
But again, I thank God that you're here right now.
When I realized that you can actually stop me from dying.

Speaker 14 (44:41):
You're stronger than I am.

Speaker 15 (44:43):
Because I really tried, like I'm really good when I
put forth effort, I really tried, and there was a
successful three times I tried.

Speaker 9 (44:51):
God didn't want you to go.

Speaker 17 (44:52):
I want me to go burpose, so it wasn't my time.

Speaker 15 (44:55):
So I wake up every day, I try to smile
and I go far on somebody to meet and something
to do with, something to write my dad.

Speaker 9 (45:04):
My guy didn't mess up and he you know, he's
going forever.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (45:09):
Like, I'm glad you're here. You're singing, singing your praises,
singing your your heart out to us, and appreciate that.

Speaker 15 (45:17):
But for the record, I'll watch you and I'll be
trying to figure out where you're at half the time.

Speaker 14 (45:22):
Where am I? I know that place?

Speaker 11 (45:25):
Where is I do?

Speaker 9 (45:27):
Just that's that's awesome. And they're actually doing those videos.

Speaker 17 (45:33):
I'll tell you I'm one of those.

Speaker 14 (45:35):
I'm one of those.

Speaker 17 (45:36):
I don't know this place.

Speaker 9 (45:38):
Could we get one quick song from?

Speaker 15 (45:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 17 (45:44):
I will cry and.

Speaker 16 (45:48):
All right, well I guess i'll do uh, I'll do
an acapella, but I'll sing Mistress Moon. That's my recent
debut single that I released on Spotify and whatnot? Amason Albright?
Miss Stress Moon?

Speaker 11 (46:01):
What do you smile when it rains up above the clouds?
Does your face change?

Speaker 9 (46:22):
Or are you sad?

Speaker 11 (46:23):
For after all, you can never watch it fall? Oh
Mistress Moon? Do you laugh with the wind? And do

(46:45):
you want to go where she's been? Do you know
things down here? Do you count the passing year is Oh,
mistress moved, Lord lord and lord loam lord.

Speaker 4 (47:28):
Lord.

Speaker 11 (47:34):
Do you blow kisses to the stars? Do they know
who you are? Do they speak to you by name?
Do you answer them same? Oh, mistress moved? Are you

(48:03):
in love with the sign? Because when he looks at you,
you're his one. You and he are perfect grace. Everyone
can see your face? Are you his mistress?

Speaker 15 (48:28):
Moon? Loud Lord.

Speaker 11 (48:38):
Lo lod lod Lord Lord lo lord loved? You were
my light when I rad Did you even know? Did

(49:06):
you understand? Woo you looking back at me? Were you
talking with the cy.

Speaker 15 (49:20):
Oh, my.

Speaker 11 (49:23):
Mistress mood?

Speaker 14 (49:30):
Thank you, beautiful, beautiful.

Speaker 15 (49:33):
I just sit and listen to that kind of stuff,
like the winds. I actually imagine the banjo. I kind
of got into it and we were just sit around
till and that was wonderful.

Speaker 6 (49:43):
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (49:44):
She usually has a keyboard player in the background, but
she does a great acapella.

Speaker 16 (49:52):
The lyrics to me, like, I also am a poet,
and I you know, I write poetry and we gotta.

Speaker 14 (49:57):
Have some poetry.

Speaker 16 (50:00):
I love peoples to all my songs or poem poetry.

Speaker 14 (50:07):
And that's what I tell people all the time. It's
like poetry is songwriting. It's all.

Speaker 12 (50:11):
It's all to utilize. It's worse mean thing. And and
if you're able to write, you could write poetry, you
could write song lyrics. You can write, especially if you're
able to express yourself with detail, you know, because it's
about painting a picture upon the mind's eye, you know.

Speaker 9 (50:25):
And and even the opposite, like if you want it
to be, you can make your poetry as simple as
like like try to make it with as less information
as possible. It's so great about writing like you can
you can play with the beginning letters in the middle
and then you know, and just make it like a puzzle.

(50:45):
And then by the time you're done, your brain is

granddaughter went with me. My granddaughter on stage and she
was busting the moon three years old.

Speaker 17 (51:43):
I was surprised.

Speaker 18 (51:45):
She'll never forget you, and it's recorded. Yeah, she was
busting the moon. Oh my god, I'm telling you. She's
fit for so her mother.

Speaker 15 (51:58):
That's the one I actually, she was to me, made
to be TV and all that too. Unfortunate events happened
in her life and she couldn't do it. But her
daughter got to give fitting image of her. Has the gift,
very flamboyant, very outspoken, and I'm so in love with
this girl like and so we're gonna.

Speaker 14 (52:17):
Start with reflection.

Speaker 17 (52:19):
Yes indeed, yes indeed.

Speaker 14 (52:22):
Uh well, if you want to play that, I can
hold it up to this one.

Speaker 17 (52:25):
I'm tempted.

Speaker 15 (52:26):
I kind of want to see if it will play,
and you just play better and go from it.

Speaker 17 (52:31):
Y'all tell me if y'all cared good or not. Oh,
some one had phone talk about that. Let me cut
these off. Okay, okay, I started for this, given.

There has been an outpour of.

Speaker 19 (53:33):
Something we have never really experienced before that that's caused
outsiders to know for us, don't come for.

Speaker 14 (53:41):
Breathtaking No, we've alied towards your brother.

Speaker 19 (53:49):
No more rainstorm in the eyes of our mothers.

Speaker 15 (53:53):
Children can't just be playing outside because they no longer
have to take cover.

Speaker 19 (54:00):
Because we all packed peace.

Speaker 14 (54:03):

Speaker 9 (54:30):
You see, I'm an advocate for that which is good.

Speaker 19 (54:37):
I fully understand that the cleaning of the house has
to begin in your own neighborhood.

Speaker 14 (54:45):
Noticing the police policing. The police has been held on
a non existent lease.

Speaker 19 (54:51):
And that beast has been joining the feast on darth
knee since the time our feet touched the soil.

Speaker 9 (55:00):
Here is that they have found.

Speaker 19 (55:01):
Joy and mistreating that which is royal, this sort from
whence nobody came, but now they all want to come
when in the back of my mind all I hear
is the beat.

Speaker 14 (55:14):
Of an ancestral drunk.

Speaker 19 (55:18):
Pounding our rhythms, beating me home. Because of your friction
between what it's supposed to be and what we have known.
The way out has been shown, and there are a
few that see.

Speaker 9 (55:34):
It, fewer that are achieved it.

the same exact way.

Speaker 14 (56:30):
Through model behavior.

Speaker 12 (56:32):

that they can achieve it. Right with that being said, brother,
where can everyone go to find your your upcoming tracks,
your your books, and your poetry. Where can people find you?

Speaker 15 (56:43):

Happy and enjoy it, go for it.

And and I would even say, you know, we as
in life, we're going to fulfill the whole range, the
spectrum of emotions and and feel feel, feel them all
because that is life, right, the good, the bad, the ugly,
to sorrow, the joy, the elation, that laughter. But and

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
