Speaker 8 (09:07):
Was it was a blessed.

Speaker 17 (09:08):
Weekend you, know any day above ground is always a,
blessing and this gift of life is only a. Season
so to have another day to, grow to cultivate, growth
and to reflect and work to be, better it's always a.
Blessing but to answer your question, SPECIFICALLY i had a
wonderful opportunity to attend The brother The brother fellowship that's
orchestrated By Building Resilient. Communities this Past, saturday we were

(09:32):
at The Civil Rights institute in Downtown, Riverside excellent from
nine to. Twelve and it's a wonderful fellowship For African
american men to come together to address the needs that
we have and and and issues and cultivate brotherhood in our.
Community often there's many forces within our world and community
and nation that often seek to lessen our value and

(09:53):
make it seem as if we do not bring something
to the table or that we have no, purpose value or.
Worth so this is space of, support of, love, cultivation
and most importantly. Encouragement so shout out To Brother, john
shout out to and, community shout out To Miss Deborah,
williams the leadership of Building Resilient, companies and shout out
To Jonathan boufong as.

Speaker 16 (10:13):
Well and the REASON i said that as we were
talking earlier there about the importance of, community, yes and
working together all of, us so to cultivate those situations.

Speaker 8 (10:23):
Where you can, Talk, oh, totally, totally.

Speaker 16 (10:25):
That's the perfect thing about.

Speaker 17 (10:27):
Community, no, totally, brother and it's for everybody it's for
all of us because we Were community is only found within,
humanity and it's found in other species and, creatures and
it's sex.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Too on this.

Speaker 16 (10:38):
Beautiful, DAY i went over there to The Hill center
AND i checked out their like second kind of opening
for Their steam, center and they had the THREE d
printing and they're showing what they're gonna do with their
pickleball court in a couple of different things. There they
were gonna do a skate, park but they changed a.
Plan so the mayor was, There Mayor tran was there

(11:02):
and councilwoman Or. Tis, so, uh you, know we had
we had a good.

Speaker 18 (11:06):
Day AND.

Speaker 16 (11:08):
I got some pictures With Pastor Ryan hart and some
great pictures of The. ARROWHEAD i got a lot of
my book done, today SO i woke up. Early you,
KNOW i always see you up, early but like as
soon AS i see you, out all, RIGHT i gotta
get to start.

Speaker 15 (11:22):
Writing so let's get that first hip of. Coffee start.

Speaker 16 (11:24):
Writing And i've worked on The Sacred bundle beautiful.

Speaker 8 (11:27):
TODAY i love hearing, That so there's.

Speaker 16 (11:29):
Really i'm on the second. Chapter the first chapter feels.
TOGETHER i THOUGHT i was gonna be able to write
it in this two.

Speaker 15 (11:35):
Weeks my mama's GONE.

Speaker 16 (11:37):
O ai helps, you uh with the formatting and stuff like.
That but if you just input, information say write it,
out it won't do it good team and he'll be
able to see it that it's not your, writing and,
like so you got to USE ai as a, tool, yes,
right it's not a replacement for your. Work and and

(12:00):
if you're writing your girlfriend or a condolence letter or
a happy birthday thing WITH, ai just, stop BECAUSE i
shouldn't even have to explain that now you are doing,
that please.

Speaker 17 (12:14):
Stop it lacks the human, touch it lects the, Spirit
it lacks. Soul and many of people that work in
that industry can SPOT ai generated texts and sentences and
paragraphs and stuff pretty. Easily, so especially if you're trying
to apply to a, job you want to make sure
you're putting your human, imprint your identity in those works
because people are very. Aware yeah oh, yeah, YEAH i

(12:38):
don't even really the art that you see IN, ai
it is, beautiful but to, ME i will not support,
it superseding that of the, spirit of the, soul of
humanity of each person that utilizes their gift of creativity
to express.

Speaker 8 (12:51):
Themselves to whatever medium they.

Speaker 16 (12:53):
Use SO i look at it as a future, genre,
right just like music has no has its own. Place
remember when they put like the synthesizer music and they
sing into, It, yeah like what's that?

Speaker 15 (13:06):
Really did they really see?

Speaker 8 (13:08):
That or auto?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Tunes yeah.

Speaker 15 (13:12):
Whatever did they do?

Speaker 4 (13:14):
That?

Speaker 16 (13:14):
Like, so, like you, know it's a son of the.
TIMES i imagine they'll be this whole. Genre they'll probably
LIKE Ai picasso bots running around.

Speaker 11 (13:21):
Like, hey.

Speaker 8 (13:24):
They already have people CITING ai music like stars.

Speaker 17 (13:28):
That you, know there's a WHOLE ai thing that makes
his own music and hip hop or rock and roll
or whatever it, is and people in the, industry people
are actually contracting these, people right but or these entities
or whatever you want to recognize it Ass but it's
kind of sucks because they doing that because they don't
have to pay it, royalties you, know you, know it's
a profit.

Speaker 8 (13:49):
Motive but it sounds like when they signed deals in the. Beginning,
huh that's where we come.

Speaker 16 (13:52):
In that's where the consumer comes. In, definitely we gotta be, like,
hey all, right well that's. Fine hey, now, yeah so
that's how we have to work.

Speaker 15 (14:02):
That but, anyway so oh we got loo on the line,
like what's, Up lou?

Speaker 16 (14:06):
Dawdy are you?

Speaker 15 (14:07):
Doing we miss?

Speaker 2 (14:11):
You.

Speaker 19 (14:11):
Lou y'all hide. TONIGHT i love the, energy Like rich was,
saying we're.

Speaker 16 (14:16):
Just trying to have a good day because it's been
so beautiful AND i feel blessed AND i feel re
energized since my mama's been with my brother catching hammerhead
sharks down.

Speaker 15 (14:26):
In sampallipe for a week.

Speaker 16 (14:28):
Night, Yeah i've had a great. BREAK i missed my.
Mama but, uh you, know being a caregiver can draw
a lot out of.

Speaker 19 (14:35):
You absolutely. ABSOLUTELY i love what you. DO i love
people you know who love their. Parents you know What i'm.
SAYING i feel you, know you're a good, soul good,
person you, know taking care of your.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Parents you.

Speaker 15 (14:48):

that to.

Speaker 16 (16:05):
Him is it gonna be?

Speaker 8 (16:05):
Funny?

Speaker 19 (16:06):
Right? Right, Well i'm pretty sure.

Speaker 16 (16:09):

we've been talking, about which is something that you mentioned,
earlier is that we got to show that Roman i've
been working on Called, manuscript so it could utilize with
the group that you met with and bringing men in

(16:44):
front of the camera talking about issues that are faced
with the. WORLD i, mean they got a lot of
talk shows to talk about, it but most of them are.
Women The view and all of those, shows so no
realstosterone in what's going on and from a male perspective
on how we think and how we should be moving.
Forward SO i want to offline be able to talk
to you about THAT tv show that EACH tv is.

(17:06):
Doing and then you, know of course with The Black
chamber Of commerce and our conference coming up In, october
which is really going to be a business summit where
we're going to be bringing in a lot of state
and federal. Agencies you're talking about. Contracts this is an
opportunity for a small business to actually meet the person
that gives out the contract or the person that is
in charge of the supplying diversity For San bernardino or Rialto,

(17:29):
fontano all of these places that spend money and all
of the jobs that were cut during The trump, administration
all those jobs that are, cut those things still have
to be. Done so they're going to be farming that.
Out they don't want to pay that payroll taxes and
all of the other stuff that comes along with having those. Employees,
yeah it's a terrible. Thing those people lost their, jobs

(17:50):
but they should look at being a small. Business they.
Left most of them left with a pretty nice, package
so some. Did SO i think it's time to start
looking at being in a small. Business AND i think
what's happening is that it's going to force people that
it's definitely people like you and me to be able
to work.

Speaker 16 (18:06):
Together there and and the and The Black chamber Of
commerce does more than just business.

Speaker 15 (18:10):

to provide a platform for individuals who have their own
business but may not have a storefront where they can
just come to an area and you, know set up

(18:55):
and sell their wares and promote their you, know their.

Speaker 17 (18:59):
Resources and for our listening, AUDIENCE i want to be

know that we're specifically talking about The Southern California Black
chamber Of commerce with that being, Noted Brother. Wilace how

Sea so we've got over three thousand small businesses, MEMBERS
i mean from plumbers to preachers to almost anything to truck.
Drivers so and we blend these people together and show
them how well they can work together and in unity
and these types of. Things that's what our summit is,
about is showing us how we can actually benefit each.

(19:42):
Other you drive truck cross, country and with the terraffs
and all the different rules that will be coming, about
small businesses are gonna have to think outside of the.
Box so here at The Southern California Black chamber Of
commerce from the desert to the. Sea so we're out
In Long, Beach Cover, City Beverly, hills and we bring
all these people together and bring money Into San. Bernardino

(20:03):

Speaker 17 (25:22):
Just before Before no, problem, sister And god bless you as.
Well one more thing THAT i want you to speak
on real quick if as we get ready to close
out this, segment is could you speak about your health
fare BECAUSE i think it's so important to definitely cultivate
that that sense of each of us taking care of
our temple WHEN i say, temple, mind, body, spirit and.
Soul AND i know you recently had your health explosi,

(25:45):
Fit so could you speak about the importance of taking
care of oneself and the importance of having those kind
of spaces for the community to learn about health.

Speaker 19 (25:52):
Education, awesome thank you for. That, yes we just got
our health. There The, chamber our, chapter we do different
events like we we are going to be doing THE mlk.
Event i'll let my president talk about that a little bit,
later THE mlk that's coming. Up but the health, fare
if we wanted to create an atmosphere for individuals who

(26:13):
are in the health industry or you, know fitness, trainers
individuals who own like their own ym who may work
in like the, supplements you, know just all around health
who have information and. Resources let me tell you. Something
if you was not, fear you guys really missed it
because the panel was. PHENOMENAL i mean the it's the

(26:34):
information that these doctors and clinicians and these experts and
these life, coaches you, know these and these business owners
gave to the community for. FREE i mean it was free,
meat free nuggets that they was. Giving AND i learned a.

Speaker 9 (26:48):
Lot you.

Speaker 19 (26:48):
Know one of the THINGS i want to say THAT
i learned Because i'm battling every. Day you, guys you,
know food is my biggest. THING i love to. Eat
y'all see me if you know, me you know me
on faces all of a sudden the, food and THEN
i want to, say oh my, god my. Stomach So
I'm i'm. Battling i'm. Battling but one of the things
that they said they gave advice is about when you
go out to, eat BECAUSE i love going out to.
Eat you go out to, eat don't eat the whole.

(27:10):
Thing it's all about, portions you know some of, it
and then you know and take the other half to.
GO i found that very. Helpful i'm, like you know
What i'm gonna sorry. DOING i don't got to eat it.

Speaker 8 (27:18):
ALL i actually doing.

Speaker 15 (27:20):
That, NO i hear, You but what what if it's
really good.

Speaker 14 (27:26):
You order extra to go.

Speaker 17 (27:27):
Home BUT i do have an acronym for. THAT i
call it poet pay, once eat twice or eat three.

Speaker 16 (27:35):
Times, opinion right, right that's that's important to.

Speaker 8 (27:38):
Do actually get your money's, worth you know WHAT i.

Speaker 16 (27:40):
Mean and then smaller portions are always.

Speaker 14 (27:42):
Better right.

Speaker 19 (27:43):
Right and then you, know just information about different things
that you Know African americans as we experience going through
like high blood pressure. Diabes you, Know i'm just talking
about you know how to control and you know things you,
know tips and tools on how to. Maintain so it
was it was. GREAT i, say all the vendors that
was out. THERE i appreciate The chamber for even hosting

(28:04):
something like. That we will be back again next, year
so you guys bring your, family for, instance a free
community of. Events great. Information thank you for letting me share.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
That no, problem.

Speaker 8 (28:16):
Sister you.

Speaker 14 (28:16):
Know on another note with the healthfare thing is THAT
i believe they'll call it, abdulahs.

Speaker 8 (28:23):
The women that deliver the children at.

Speaker 14 (28:24):
Home, Yes so there was a young lady there and
she was explaining that the county or the system now
pays for. That so there's a wide opening for young
people that are looking for careers or jobs in that.
Field and it's based up on six months of, training

(28:47):
and from WHAT i, understand they're so backed up with
trying to find people to do those. Jobs so not
only was the healthfare, there there was an opportunity for
people to get employment with other. Things so BECAUSE i,
mean if you got some, money you can get you
can kind of get. Healthy you, know you can keep
pay a. Doctor you, know you can get some health
insurance and. Stuff SO i was so surprised that some

(29:10):
of those things were going on there as. Well so
as The chamber does healthfarrees AND mlk events and these
type of, events there's always an opportunity for business people
to step up and be able to get into the
community give back while they make.

Speaker 8 (29:26):
Money, hey now win win the means a win.

Speaker 16 (29:28):
Win, Yes, well, well thank you very, Much lou and
tell your man we said what's up and we'll be seeing.

Speaker 19 (29:34):

future AND i always like to feel like we got
something to look forward.

Speaker 14 (34:20):
To and That's.

Speaker 16 (34:20):
Uh there was some days in LIKE covid and stuff
and bankruptcy and stuff that there.

Speaker 15 (34:26):
Was hardly anything to look forward. To and now it's
like there's so so.

Speaker 16 (34:30):
Much but, uh now that there is so, much that's
the one Thing i'd like to say to all these teams, man,
like we got to start working together more if we.
Can AND i do see it collaborations, happening but in poor,
times like when when there's not as much money, around
that's when we need to work together.

Speaker 14 (34:47):
The, most you.

Speaker 8 (34:47):
Know on that same.

Speaker 17 (34:48):
Tip and THEN i, KNOW i have a few few
more questions For Brother, wallace but you, KNOW i don't
want to put their business in the, street BUT i
just want to say that there's an Organization i'm just
go to, say and please forgive me no, disrespect but The,
pulse you, know a wonderful community, center a wonderful community
space attached To Soul. Ali they're having some hard times right,

(35:10):
now you, know with a lot of the grand funding
being pulled out and everything like, that and So i'm
just saying this to the. Community i'm hoping that all
those that have crossed that threshold and been into that,
space knowing how wellcommun it, is all the programming and activities.

Speaker 8 (35:24):
That they, do they're free of. Charge i'm just.

Speaker 17 (35:27):
Really calling and beckoning the community to reach out to
support The pulse because entities such as that that have
chose to open up their, businesses open up their community
space in the heart of the biggest county in the,
country to service our, community to provide wonderful opportunities for
our community and network to, build to grow, together to
flourish together in, downtown in our, downtown cultivating beautiful. Things,

(35:48):
right we need to support those. Organizations we don't really
have as many offerings as we really. Like but when
we have someone or a couple that's pouring into our
community and not really seeing THE i, don't, man forgive.
Me they haven't been able to pay themselves Since august
right Or april Since april, Right so they're really working

(36:11):
hard and got some stuff in the. Works and pray
that these things come. Through but, Man i'm just asking
the community To please support the, posts reach out To
Stronger together, now and and and and please help them
however you. Can if it's, monetarily if it's coming through the,
volunteer if it's if you have a networking you know
some grants that are, available if you know some angel,

(36:32):
finance angel investors or something of that, nature please reach.
Out And I'm i'm praying And i'm asking that that
call will be, answered and we're.

Speaker 16 (36:40):
Gonna be praying for them and attending their. Events, yes,
definitely and even even in hard. Times they started In,
redlands but they moved To. Cerementino they have hard times,
Again i'm sure they'll up and get a new.

Speaker 15 (36:55):
Spot you, KNOW i know these these two that are gonna.

Speaker 8 (36:59):
Committed, yeah they are gonna make it. Amen but, man
we want them. Here we want them.

Speaker 17 (37:04):
Here it is our opportunity to be a blessing as
they have been a blessing unto.

Speaker 14 (37:10):
Us you know, What i'm not familiar with.

Speaker 17 (37:12):
Them, Definitely i'll get you, Connected, yeah definitely so we
could do something. Together, yeah, sure, definitely thank you.

Speaker 15 (37:17):
Sir do you guys want to skid the history chip
bit or you guys want the HISTORY?

Speaker 8 (37:22):
TV a little history a Little scotia, history just the,
ground the.

Speaker 14 (37:26):
History i'd like to know what.

Speaker 16 (37:27):
Happened this is the my, book The legends of The Air,
ahead and we'll call it this is the Goat China indian,
legend ages and ages. Ago this legend runs The indians
inhabiting the Sam Bernardino, valley called by them Got, china
a place of, plenty waxed strong and prosperous because of
the fertility of the soil and the abundance of streaming

(37:49):
water in. It they were mighty in the, land and
becoming selfish and proud in their, arrogance forgot the all,
ruler the bestower of their abundance and. Power then The
Great father displeased at their, ingratitude and thereupon sent down
upon his people a fierce hot spirit from The, sunland

(38:11):
who blighted their, vegetation drank of their streams until only
the sand beds were, left and drank and drained their
lakelets till only salt and bitter water remained. Therein then
did the people gather in, council build huge fast fires
and make offerings to appease the anger of The Great.
Spirit but the scorching blasts, continued parched the land and

(38:35):
all the green things, Shriveled the earth baked and, Crumbled
the herds and flocks, perished the sun monster leaving only
heaps of bleached. Bones then where the people visited with
pestilence and, famine along. They although they constantly prayed and

(38:57):
made the peace offerings for abatement of the fury of
this consuming heat, monster their supplications were. Unanswered the Wailing,
indians at, length driven to dire to dire, extremity knelt
with outstripped, storms and bowing and bowing to the, ground
offered to make any, sacrifice even to the forfeiture of

(39:19):
their most precious life in the, tribe if only the
relief might be granted from the deadly visitation of this devouring.
Pest now the chief is alleged to have father of
only one, Daughter, n'wanna by name maiden of The New,
moon the fairest and the most beloved of all tribes. Women,
finally in answer to his last, appeal a voice floating

(39:43):
out from the broad expanse of the skies bore this,
message Give ne'wannah as an offering to. Heaven silence fell
upon the Stricken, indians and their, chief rising above his,
devotion slowly went to his wik. Yep there he carefully
wrapped his dogs in the richest robes and adorned her
with golden. Trinkets obedient to the obedient to the mysterious

(40:07):
voice led her, forth leaving her alone to meet the
fiery wrath of the. Destroyer when the sacrifice was complete
And nijuana was, consumed the heavens, opened and immediately a
white arrow of light shot out and struck down the heat.
Monsters others, followed until one finally struck the mountain side

(40:29):
and left its. Mark then then was the blessed rain
pour from far. Above the water was once again cooling
the parched earth and running in the empty beds and.
Streams the heat monster riered in agony under the, copious
cooling downpour until the earth opened and swallowed. Him as

(40:50):
it closed, again streams of boiling water bubbled from the rock,
crevices and the famine and pestilent spitting people drinking deep
of the streaming waters and bathing in them were healed.
Denseforce the humble dwellers of the valley lived for generations
in peace and. Plenty at the foot of the arrow marked.

(41:11):
Mountain m. Hm so that's the that's the white boy, version,
right the right history boy, version right.

Speaker 19 (41:21):
Of the of this like.

Speaker 16 (41:25):
Incredibly beautiful legend that was probably sung as a song
in uh In uhabaton's.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
Language and.

Speaker 16 (41:37):
Now this is what's.

Speaker 15 (41:38):
Left it's like little.

Speaker 16 (41:40):
Nooks and kernels of truth in probably some fable and
everything else.

Speaker 17 (41:45):
Mixed you know WHAT i appreciate about about you in,
general and and other people that have a passion for
archaeology and, history such as, yourself how they are keeping
cultures alive and and and a diversity of. Cultures it's
not just centered upon yourself or Your irish Or canadian.

(42:05):
Background it's all the cultures that should be celebrated and
be recognized and keep Your.

Speaker 16 (42:11):
I'm more mutt than, that.

Speaker 8 (42:13):
Dude well the two main.

Speaker 17 (42:15):
Sources but whatever you, are you're a beautiful individual and
a beautiful human. Being but what does that story mean
to you in today's?

Speaker 16 (42:23):
Times so what this story means to me is that
there was a serious drought here and this drought was
so bad and they blamed it on the. Heat the
fact that they weren't showing their devotion to The Great
spirit like they should have. Been and the Great spirit
got mad and scented, this this, beast and the only

(42:46):
way to get rid of this curse was.

Speaker 8 (42:49):
To sacrifriceis, daughter the most, precious.

Speaker 16 (42:52):
The most precious thing that he. Had so what it's
saying is the, chief the, leader was willing to give
up what was more precious to, him even for the
betterment of his. People and that's something that's lost today
with our, leaders not all of, them but a lot of.

Speaker 17 (43:10):
Them but maybe you have an opportunity right here for
people to reflect upon, that what is something that we
are willing to give up that's precious to, us that
but us in the act of us giving that thing,
Up how what benefit for the greater good can come from?

Speaker 19 (43:23):
It you?

Speaker 17 (43:24):
Know so that to, me that's something that we each
can answer ourselves on internal, reflection because we all have some,
vices we all have some, habits we all have some
things that might bring us, joy but it might not
be the best utilization of our irreplaceable gift of.

Speaker 8 (43:37):
Time right, Interesting and like.

Speaker 16 (43:39):
You could also do that with material things, too like give,
it like sell it to get money.

Speaker 15 (43:44):
To give to a. Charity there you, go there you,
go because they're.

Speaker 8 (43:47):
Just things because you'll leave it all. Behind but you're first.

Speaker 15 (43:52):
Born THAT i don't have. One BUT i don't know
IF i could give that one up for the.

Speaker 8 (43:56):
People but like that he, Did god bless, them, yeah,
wow help the people.

Speaker 17 (44:01):
Survive but what a, Sacrifice, yes, truly because he's glad
he would a sacrifice.

Speaker 8 (44:05):
Himself.

Speaker 16 (44:06):
Now, now, now this STORY i believe is just uh
in the stars, okay a star consolation map Stories, okay
but who, knows maybe something similar did, happen possibly, right.

Speaker 8 (44:19):
Like, well the only time will tell and we'll never,
know but we won't. Know, yeah but but definitely on that.

Speaker 17 (44:28):
Tip as we circle back to The president in The
house of The Southern California Black chamber Of, commerce mister Rich.

Speaker 8 (44:35):
Wallace AND i love the name Rich.

Speaker 14 (44:36):
Wallace that just got to.

Speaker 8 (44:37):
Ring to, it. Sir you, know how are you doing? Today?

Speaker 14 (44:40):
BROTHER i am blessed and Challenged AND i love when
people say that Because i'm trying to get to be.
Rich so the more people THAT i can get to
call me, that the more OPPORTUNITY i get to kind
of keep it on my, face you. Know so it's
kind of Like i'm reminded THAT i need to be
rich when they, say, hey, rich how's it.

Speaker 16 (44:56):
Going what name did your mother bless you?

Speaker 14 (44:58):
With that was?

Speaker 15 (44:59):
It, oh then it's got to be.

Speaker 16 (45:01):
True that was.

Speaker 14 (45:02):
It so one of the things is that we are
really working hard now putting Out Martin Luther king weekends,
together working with other. Groups like you mentioned, before we
work With Frank montees and The Hispanic coalition and a
couple of other. Groups we work with The Asian Business
association and a few other groups that are trying to

(45:24):
pull people. Together AND i tell people all the time
one of the, things And i'm not sad that we
can't work with, everybody but we can work with the
ones that we work, with and then you can work
with the ones that you work, with and then you
AND i can work. Together so separation, yes and you
never know what where you're one person away from your next.
Million and as we start trying to pull things, Together

(45:48):
i'm not offended if you can't work with, me AND
i got, It BUT i want to help you support
the people BECAUSE i don't need one hundred thousand people following.
Us we only need our, crowd the ones That god
blessed us, with the ones that we can help and
the other ones you.

Speaker 8 (46:03):
Take, please.

Speaker 15 (46:06):
There's enough people to help out there for everybody.

Speaker 14 (46:09):
Everything because when we feed people On, thanksgiving there's other
groups feeding people and at the end of the, day
there are still people that didn't get to eat On. Thanksgiving, yes, sadly,
sadly so you, know so when we start getting in
housing and trying to get people in, housing there's as
many houses as you can, find there's still gonna be
people un. Housed so so we all got to do
our part and not you, know not worry about your.

(46:33):
Part i'm gonna do our. Part and if our parts
commingle together so we can make it blossom, better then
that's what we're gonna try to do in each and every.
Way so when we do A Martin Luther King parade
Of Martin Luther king, event we're celebrating Doctor king's, uh
we've been celebrating his community, service but this year we're
gonna we're gonna celebrate his faith. Walk we're gonna lead

(46:57):
more into his biblical lifespan and spiritual aspect that he
loved because his idea came from the. SPIRIT i, mean you,
know he didn't, READ i mean he read well but he.
WAS i do believe that he was spoken to By,
god you. Know so we're gonna push. That you, know
we're not selling mattresses this year and cars and all

(47:17):
of those kinds of things that they, do and in
the martin we can we're gonna try to bring that
back to to an understanding of how this man, walked you,
know and how he, did you, know and even how
they tried to make him look, bad because you, know
everybody nobody's perfect on this.

Speaker 15 (47:35):
Thing actually listen to the eye of a dream.

Speaker 16 (47:38):
Speech really listen to, it watch the you, know watch the,
subtitles read, it you, know and get the real feel for.

Speaker 14 (47:45):
It we need that right. Now we need. That we
need so much of that right. Now and that's one of.

Speaker 19 (47:51):
Them you.

Speaker 14 (47:51):
Know it's kind of like when you look at some
of the wars in The Old testament Of biblical, principles
they were they were. Singing they were not out poking
each other's spirits like some people. Think there were people
on the mountain and they were, singing lifting their voice
and that's how they were beginning to win wars and
things would go. Over so we're gonna we're gonna lift
our voices up during The Martin Luther King weekend literally

(48:14):
from the desert to the sea From Palm, springs and
we're gonna do these things. Simultaneously we have a new
network Called EDGE Tv network on The rouco, Platform so
we're gonna be On Rouco apple and we're gonna be
spreading the, word and we're gonna be After chambers and
other organizations in other, states in other, areas and we're
looking for a timely. Situation so at some time doing that,

(48:36):
weekend we will all come together at Whatever pacific time
we can decide on An eastern standard time and all
look up and Thank Doctor king for where he brought
us to and then Ask god to fix what we
can do so we can take this and move it
to a different. Level one of the things that we

(48:57):
suffer with Because Doctor king worked so hard in getting
us to work, together we. Separated we moved out of our.
Neighborhoods that wasn't what the goal. Was we gave up
Our Negro league baseball. Team that wasn't what the goal.

Speaker 8 (49:11):
Was you.

Speaker 14 (49:12):
Know we gave up some of the things Mister fridge
store on the on the, corner and we gave it
up to seventy eleven in circle, case that wasn't the.
Goal so we want to go back to what the goal.

Speaker 17 (49:21):
Was it makes me think of The green. Buck, yeah
The green. Book bringing that back and definitely And i'm.

Speaker 14 (49:26):
Working on a Penny saver format green coming, Soon so
coming soon to. You because with The internet being so
global and so wide and everybody has, it you don't
know who's on the. Corner you don't know the guy
right around the, corner but you know the guy In
pakistan or over, here and, yeah Your TiVo and people

(49:50):
In New york put the guy on fourth and and
waterman who Is so we want to bring that, back you,
know so that we can actually business in our. Neighborhood
and that's how we're gonna, grow and that's how we're
gonna fix the city from neighborhood to. Neighborhood and the
city's coming. BACK i love What San bernardino's, doing you,
know downtown they're building new, restaurants new things are moving. In,

(50:13):
yes now we have to get the people to support,
it to support it and help take care of. It
let's all pick up a piece of paper that we
see on the. Ground that's everybody if everybody begins to
kind of clean, up then we can get.

Speaker 16 (50:26):
Up, yeah there is not a piece of trash in
front of my, house my neighbors, houses in front of my,
house anywhere in.

Speaker 15 (50:36):
My section of the.

Speaker 16 (50:37):
STREET i pick it up every single, day even IF
i didn't throw.

Speaker 8 (50:44):
It we, all we all could be a part of the. Beautification,
yes we.

Speaker 15 (50:48):
Can and it doesn't hurt exercise to.

Speaker 16 (50:52):
Do, that, right.

Speaker 8 (50:52):
Definitely. Yeah, yeah getting mobile and moving and that's always
a good.

Speaker 14 (50:56):
Thing and some of the youth programs are beginning to do.
That Terrence stone or a Young, Bigey we're all trying
to get together to get our young. People and you
know what it does to teach.

Speaker 15 (51:04):
Who's moving in a room full of.

Speaker 17 (51:06):
Vultures ah shout out To Terryce stone in his latest.
Book one question THAT i have for, you BECAUSE i
know that you Have Youth built as. Well i'm earlier
you were talking about some production stuff that you're exposing
the students. Too could you share, it speak a little about.

Speaker 14 (51:22):
That, Yeah, Well Youth built is a one hundred year
old construction, school and we realized that a lot of
our young people are not trying to carry a. Hammer
SO i have some friends in the entertainment, business and
we started talking about. It so we put together the
studio right over here On Fourth. Street it's six twenty
Four West Fourth street in our, school and we've got some.

(51:44):
Cameras we got some high definition cameras and. Lighting what school,
school what School youth, Built.

Speaker 15 (51:50):
Youth build, Bill, yeah WELL i know youth. Build they're
on The they're On.

Speaker 16 (51:54):
Instagram, yeah we're.

Speaker 14 (51:55):
On, Instagram facebook and all the other. Places and were
taken young people from sixteen twenty four to get their
high school. Diploma but we realized high school diploma is
not having the same value it has twenty years. Ago
so we're having some trade. Environments that's WHY i, said
we're getting some THREE d printers. In we have cameras in.
Now so we're talking about what a griff guy makes
three hundred thousand dollars a. Year so we when we

(52:16):
watch a movie with the young, people we watch the
names that go across when the movie's over with and, say,
look it took three hundred people to make this. Movie
that's three hundred. Jobs, yes indeed, so and all of
those jobs are pretty much high paying. Jobs so we
want to bring our young people out of the eight
blocks that they live in here In San bernardino and

(52:36):
spread their minds. Out so when we take them out
to a formal, dinner they know why there's three forks
or four forks on the.

Speaker 15 (52:42):
TABLE I i did have this idea the other.

Speaker 16 (52:45):
DAY i was, like why can't there be some kind
of fund to allow kids to make their own business
before they leave high?

Speaker 14 (52:54):
School?

Speaker 8 (52:54):
Totally, YEAH i.

Speaker 15 (52:55):
Mean like maybe it should honestly be a.

Speaker 8 (52:57):
Requirement it should be a. Course and we have a financial.
Literacy we have a quo one we have.

Speaker 14 (53:04):
We in our business. Class we take the young, people
we get them a TAX id, number we Call wallace
out and make it real good, paper and we run A,
dba you, know and so they get all of these
steps in so that they know exactly and then we
do a. Budget we do a household. Budget you know
that one young girl that was doing a household, budget

(53:24):
she didn't realize that she was spending a whole bunch
of money on some items that were illegal that she
shouldn't even been.

Speaker 8 (53:29):
Buying you, know we'll leave it at.

Speaker 14 (53:31):
That so we'll leave it at. That but then she
changed her habit because she didn't realize that she was
spending twenty five change the. Laws you, know so you,
know you stop smoking cigarettes when you know how much.

Speaker 8 (53:42):
They cost, here you, know so you make more money
therefore to Make.

Speaker 14 (53:48):
So these are some of the things that life skills
that young people are missing today because they have so
much great. Technology and we were talking about it. Earlier
how many phone numbers that you used to, remember, man
before you got. YOURSELF i speak on that all the.

Speaker 8 (54:02):
Time, yeah you used to have our.

Speaker 14 (54:04):
Memorymbers they're degrading our.

Speaker 8 (54:06):
Memories.

Speaker 14 (54:06):
Yeah we want the. Technology, yeah we need the, technology
but we need to know how to use. It like
you were saying ABOUT, ai we need to not let
that thing control our.

Speaker 8 (54:15):
Minds we need to.

Speaker 15 (54:17):
Read the stuff that you're doing for. Homework don't let
THE ai read it and tell you what it.

Speaker 14 (54:22):
Is when you, learn you know a BEFORE i know
if those are some some some valuable things that that
will help. You so we want to get back to
those and that's what we do a youth built with
our educational program and also over at The chamber with
our business. Program we've got a dinner coming, up A

(54:43):
Classic awards dinner On, AUGUST i mean On october, eighteenth
and have the conference On october, sixteenth, seventeen and we
have our awards banquet on the. Eighteenth go to our
website At Black chamber Of commerce dot org and you
can get all the information of what we're doing from
the desert to the. Sea and that's that The Black
chamber Of. Commers AND i, Said Black chamber Of comers dot.

Speaker 8 (55:02):
Org, definitely.

Speaker 17 (55:03):
DEFINITELY i know that we are circling to our last four,
Minutes but could you speak towards because we were talking
about this off, Air BUT i love the collaboration THAT
i see between The Southern California Black chamber Of commerce
and The Hispanic coalition Of Small. Businesses Frank, montess can
you talk about the importance of that kind of, relationship
specifically through the lens of you defying The African american

(55:23):
and The latin.

Speaker 14 (55:24):
Diaspora, well you know with AND i don't want to
Blow frank up too.

Speaker 8 (55:28):
Much you, know he is you, Know, frank where are?

Speaker 15 (55:32):
You Where's? Frank LIKE i have invited him a lot
of TIMES i Have, heah all, right all, RIGHT.

Speaker 14 (55:42):
I Guess i'll give him a call.

Speaker 8 (55:44):
Tonight or.

Speaker 14 (55:46):
Working working with The Hispanic, Coalition, uh and other groups
that want to work with. Us it's just to, us
it's a true. Blessing it gives us the strift to
know that we can do things. Together but you know
what it does more than, anything it tells the outside
people that we're on one. Accord and that's what that's

(56:08):
what it really does is that when WHEN i stand
up and they See frank next to me and uh
uh Lind chain from the business from The Asian Business,
association when we walk into a, room there's a lot
of power and then there's no separation in Racist and
that's how they try to do. That there's no separation
because we're all on faith.

Speaker 15 (56:29):
Movement that's that's almost the same.

Speaker 16 (56:30):
Thing that's so that is so important to actually put
those the.

Speaker 14 (56:34):
Model it, yes so when you see, it you, go
wait a, minute that's An Asian, association The Hispanic, association
The Black, association and they're working together now they're doing
The Martin Luther King parade, together and they're doing, HEALTHFARE
i mean health effects of everybody, definitely you know, so
and cancer is getting so many different. Nationalities cancer don't.

(56:56):
Care cancer don't. Care so we're fighting. That we have
a breast Cancer. Awareness can you say?

Speaker 16 (57:02):
Cancer you, know we have a.

Speaker 14 (57:05):
Breast cancer fashion show Every october and on The spring In,
Riverside so we're raising funds to try to you, know
work with. That and you know, what we don't give
them money To Breast Cancer Wareness. Foundation we get the
money to caretakers like, you people that are really effaced
with the day to day operation of taking care of
one of their loved. Ones, yeah and that is a massive.

Speaker 16 (57:27):
And there's a lot of people that can't make it
and they're taking care of their loved. Ones that's Am,
Like i'm very. LUCKY i don't get, paid But i'm
very lucky in the. SITUATION i am a lot of the.

Speaker 15 (57:38):
People they're all. Lucky they're just they don't even know
how to get food and.

Speaker 17 (57:43):
Stuff and, like LIKE i, Said, ROBERT i really encourage
you to connect with THE va because your father. Served
WHEN i was a caretaker for my, father there's a
program that will assist you for providing for your loved.
Ones SO i encourage you once again to check in
and connect with them because there is there's.

Speaker 8 (58:01):
Money so here's someone.

Speaker 14 (58:02):
That benefits from THE. Va so he's telling you the.

Speaker 8 (58:04):
Truth, Man, Yes, okay, yeah you just got to do.
It you gotta do.

Speaker 14 (58:08):
It and their job is to tell you know the first,
four five or six. Times your job is to continue
to go. Back you'll go back and make it. Happen
you'll make it, happen just like being an, entrepreneur just
like being on this. Show your job is to continue
to do. It but you don't count the. Listeners you
just continue to do it and one day you look
up in, there so baby steps to the.

Speaker 15 (58:26):
Goal there you. Go you see what, About?

Speaker 14 (58:28):
Bob baby?

Speaker 8 (58:29):
Steps, okay you.

Speaker 14 (58:30):
Got to keep the main thing the main.

Speaker 8 (58:32):
THING i know we're down to our last.

Speaker 15 (58:33):

a great. Show Mister Wallace. Man you're an awesome.

Speaker 16 (58:39):

young people from sixteen to twenty four to get their
high school. Diploma it is a one on. One it
is a fantastic opportunity to be able to if you
if traditional school is not working for, you this is
an opportunity to come in and graduate at an earlier

(59:09):

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
