Speaker 2 (00:31):
Gentlemen, it's all yours is Coach.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Being Eternal on Fox Sports Radio, heard in Southern California
on Fox Sports Am thirteen fifty.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I am your host, Coach B.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
And I am your hos Eternal right here live in
a great city of Riverside at the iHeart Radio Studios,
recorded live every Saturday morning. A little bit gloomy this morning, man,
but we are gonna bring the sunshine, Coach B. I
know you said you are still trying to shake it off.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Brother. How you feeling, man, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
It's it's a lot, you know. It's it was a
tough week. Last time I was out in the Coachella Valley.
I don't know if it happened out there, but it
was I would say it was the day that I
went to the DCA, I felt good.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
The next morning I did not. And it's been a long,
long two weeks, I said, that's two weeks, man. Yeah, yeah,
it's been. It's been rough. Man. I was a walking zombie.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
But I went to urgent Care a week ago and
it gave me some meds and whatnot. And those meds
are gone. And yeah, it was. It was a long
two weeks.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Last week, when I listened back to the show, I
did not sound normal.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
But it is what it is, you know. But you're
coming around. You were you were the first guy here, man,
So we got to clap it up for that right there,
you know what I mean. So you know, so he
was here. Coach B's in the building. Uh, Coach B Man,
we have some big time stuff happening right now. As
we we've been talking and and stuff's been happening behind
the scenes. But the High Desert All Star Football Game

(01:56):
is back for the fourth year.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Coach b.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
You know we were able to announce coaches. You know,
I know you've been. You know, I know you've been
you know, behind the scenes, Willing and Dylan. But you know,
I mean, we have our coaches. Now we know what's
gonna happen. How are you feeling about it?

Speaker 6 (02:12):
Man?

Speaker 2 (02:12):
It feels good. Man.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Well, you know one thing, I didn't even realize this,
I'll be in Vegas that week.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
And then it was my daughter. She's like she's old
enough now.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
She had stuff on the calendar and she said, you
know what, you're supposed to be the in Vegas until Saturday.
I said, I guess I'm not anymore. So GCU is
going to be in the UH in the the Whack Tournament,
So you know, I don't know if we're gonna win
it this year anyway, so I don't mind leaving early anyway.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Said You're like, hey, I you know, Hey, it is
what it is. I know, I totally get it. Uh.
I know you've been, you know, since you graduated, since
you you know, since you put the cap and gown on.
I know you've been thoroughly supporting the squad.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, I'll say this, man, when when when gc I
came here, I was a little disappointed.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I went to when GCU played at CBU, CBU dusted
them up.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah, you know, And you know the funny thing is,
so last year when they played at CBU. They won
the OUTR regular season title. And you know, and I
saw it. I was on the website or the social
media and they put on there. Oh you know the
last time we were at uh uh CBU, this happened
and CBU saw it.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
You don't. And the thing is, here's the here's the thing.
I understand.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
They have young young Price student interns were working at
social media.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
You don't do that, I can, I promise you.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
CBU put that on the wall and you can see
the way they were playing.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
You can't do that. No, you can't disrespect the opponent.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
No, no, no, no no, there's rules against that. I mean,
because folks are already they're looking for motivation most times,
so you don't want to feed them anything.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
So and I.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Tell you, man, people are and you speaking of this
last night, uh you know, my son was watching the.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
The Lakers and the Clippers. And I'll tell you now, man,
those the Lakers are playing man at the plan.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
You know.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
One of the things I will say this, they looked
good last night. You know obviously the Clippers were without
Norman pal you know who's a you know who's uh,
who's a for sure twenty pointoints. But nonetheless, Lakers were
there down a couple of people too, so uh, it
was one of those games where you definitely can see
them coming around. I was impressed with what I saw
last night, no doubt about it. I know, I still

(04:11):
think the Clippers didn't play their better game. Uh you know,
you know that, you know, Zubac have to get the
ball way more. It was just I was like, what's
going on there? But you know, I digress. But you know, again,
the Lakers, hands down, they look good, Luca looks good,
and you can see that's helping Lebron out extend his career.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, yeah it is. And and the Lakers are playing basketball.
That's the one thing about about Bron. You can say
what you want, but then when the in the big moments,
he shows up and you can see right now that.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
He's he there there.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
This is the stretch and what people don't understand the
beginning of the season half but they were talking about
the Lakers are like this, they could get the second
or third seed in the West, which is insane.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
They very well could. It's really I think it's probably
more likely they're going to get the third because Denver's
pretty high up. But I mean, but they have some
games where they're going to be playing Denver soon where
you know, they they very you know, if they win
those games, and obviously we're talking about a whole different scenario.
So so it's gonna I mean, look, the West is
going to be competitive. A lot of those teams that

(05:09):
are in there right now. You know, when you look
at the Lakers how they're currently organized. You know, the
Lakers are competitive and they could really run anybody in
the West right now. So you know, you know, I
think there's teams where you know, they had success with
Denver last time, and again for me, Denver didn't have
the better game, you know, No, I mean they they
not to say that Lakers didn't play great defense against

(05:30):
the Joke.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
I'm saying a lot.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
That's what I said. I say, hey, not to say
that they you know, but but Joker. I think Joker
had like I don't even know if he had fifteen
points that game, which is which is rare.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
You and I both know that's not Is that a
bad game or is that the defense? That's what I said.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
That's why I said, you can't you can't discount what
the Lakers were doing or JJ Reddi's game plan. Who again,
who really needs to get a tip of the cab
because he's been doing a phenomenal job coaching.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
I don't like JJ Reddick. I'm going to put it
out there. Yeah, I didn't like him at Duke. I don't.
I don't. I don't like him. Now, don't like him? Yeah,
I don't like JJ Reddick. I just don't.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
He just seems like an arrogant guy and he hasn't
done anything in this association.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
But you know, I digress.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Yeah, yeah, no, he's one over Lebron.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Let's say that.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Yeah, no, Lebron likes him, and look again for what
is worth. I thought he would. I thought he would.
It would be a little bit of time before he
came around. But he's been doing well, man, so I can't.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
You know, it's easy to win when you have, you know,
one of the best generational players ever.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
I mean now too.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Yeah yeah, yeah exactly. So I don't put any any
stock in what he's doing. But you know, it's easy.
Let me say this, it's it's hard to win in
the association, but it's easier to win when you have
two of the best players there. You know, step on
the court at He's in this generation, no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Coach being he turned run here live in Fox Sports Radio.
You can hear us every Saturday morning. You can take
the show with you with you, excuse me, on the
iHeartRadio app. We have a very very great show lined
up for You have a young lady and a gentleman
here who have been doing a phenomenal job coaching some kids,
uh here in the Fontana area. Coach be right there

(07:08):
where you are. They played their game.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
What's that? What's that?

Speaker 4 (07:11):
What's that little gym called over there in Fontana that people?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
There's only one? I guess what was it called?

Speaker 3 (07:16):
I mean, Jesse Turner, Jesse Turner, Bill, Yeah, I mean
I said, it's a big.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
City, so you know, well, I mean that's why I
thought it was only one.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
That's why I thought I thought maybe you know, I
don't I don't recall it being too but yeah, Jesse.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Turner, No, no, I mean no, they have multiple gyms out
in the city because they have stuff on the on
the south side.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Ah okay, okay, okay, yeah, you're talking about the north end, right, yes, okay, yes, understood,
but none. Nonetheless, we have coach k Here and coach
Johnson represented for Fontana Middle School. Really happy to have
them here in studio. I have to give a huge,
huge shout out to Rancho Christian. Coach B knocked off

(07:55):
Brentwood last night. You know, we were talking about UH
coach Larry this time last week, who had to go
out there and take his Lady Vikings out there to
go compete, you know, and they play them in Brentwood
last time.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Excuse me, this particular game was.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Played at the Toyota Arena where we will be today.
But this particular game, again, the CIF Southern Section Girls
Basketball Division One championship was on the line, and Coach
Wells led the Lady Eagles into that arena and took

(08:33):
it over, really played a phenomenal game, knocked off Brentwood
fifty eight to forty eight to be your crown Division
one champions. What's good about this whole scenario now at
Coach B is now that that is solidified. Whoever wins
the Open Division, You're gonna have two ie teams right there.

(08:54):
Whoever wins the Open Division is going to be an
Illan Empire team as well. Because the rumbo in the
Jungle is tonight and it gets primetime booking as it should.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Coach be.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
I mean, you know, even though Roosevelt, we love Roosevelt.
Big shout to Roosevelt, Miles, Isaac Brandon. Are you you
know again that I call them the big three?

Speaker 7 (09:14):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (09:14):
They are doing phenomenal Coach Singleton and them boys, they're
doing the phenomenal, but primetime Bill and Coach B. I
believe it belonged to those young ladies. The number one
school in the nation uh, Ontario Christian.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
And then you have number.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Five uh uh coach by none other than Coach delu
Uh Coach Stan. You have your Edawanda Eagles, who are
the defending national champions.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
You know, it don't get no bigger than that, Coach B.
I don't know, man.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Yeah, it's gonna be a really really big game. Love
to see it. It's going to be a serious, big
time rematch when you think about that. Yeah, and for
it to be right in the backyard, that's always a
good thing to see. That's that's gonna be a big game.
That's it's it's you know, and and what's the young
lady great?

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Yes, Grace Knox so Ls, you commit we have to
see if she's ready.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yeah, mean is legit?

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Do you have a all on second, coach b I mean,
I see you've been You've been talking about saving me
for a minute, as you should.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
As you should.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
I mean, you know the the those young ladies there
are they're serious. You know Antario Christian they have a
big three as well. I mean they're coming in their
stacked ready to roll. I mean they play a really
intense style of basketball. Everybody can score. It's gonna I mean,
I don't know if you have a prediction right here
live on Fox Sports Rader that you're ready to put

(10:37):
out there, I mean, because you are, I mean go ahead.
I mean I'll get off my stove box and let
you shine.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I would say this.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I know that coach, he's been there and he have
he has a lot like you think that that that
that ed Awanda team has been here.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
I know.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
The one thing that they're missing a huge pieces is
at the University of Southern California, and they got to
They have a.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Big game tonight. They're playing u c l A again. Yes,
so that's a huge game.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
It'll be at u c l A. So U c
l A should get that dub.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
But there's you know when you when you it's kind
of like when when UH Chicago was playing and they
were playing the Knicks and Jordan wasn't there and they
said Jordan was in at baseball and he was looking
at the game and Jordan said, what they need is missing.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
And people are like, what are you talking about? And
it may be Kennedy. You know.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Kennedy was the she was the you know, the neutralizer
for the.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Last three years. Stop Juju twice?

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Yeah, yeah, but Juju, to Juju's credit, she was a freshman.
Oh no, no, Juju was a senior. Jui was a senior.
I'm thinking.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
I'm sorry. The young lady at Ontario Christian.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Oh yeah, yeah, the stopped them last year, y young ladies.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
The point guard. Yeah, hold on, I'm not franking pull.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
I gotta think of her name. The point guard who
was just going off. Now she's killing it right, but Juju, yeah,
she shut her down.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
And that's that may be with Smith there you go.
That may be what Edawanda is missing. Is that leadership
of of UH, of the Kennedy.

Speaker 7 (11:59):
Ye.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Now see what now you have not only do you
have Grace over there, who's who's really who solidifies the post,
a great perimeter shooter. You also have young Puff and
she just celebrated a birthday, So happy birthday to Puff.
Aleanna Morris, uh, you know, and she's she's the general man.
She she well, you know how she goes. You know,

(12:20):
she has a great shot, she has great pace. You know,
can handle the basketball. I mean, she's she's been there
four years. She's been there all four years. I mean,
you know, it doesn't I mean, it's it's a different
story when you have somebody with that kind of I
don't know what she hasn't seen in terms of girls
basketball at that level. You know, I'm sure they've tried
to do all kinds of different stuff to her, and
she's been able to have success on the court. So

(12:41):
it's gonna be it's gonna be in And then you know, likewise, uh,
you know Kaleena Smith as well. She they play a
national schedule, so so she's she's seen it. It's not
a lot of she hasn't seen as well. So it's
gonna be a great game again prime time billing. We
are going to be there in the house, a big shot.
You know, I got to give a big shout out
to my folks over at CIF. Mister Simmons. We submitted

(13:03):
our credentials a little bit late, he said. He said,
come on, now, come on, now, you turn on. I'm
gonna look out for you. Make sure you get those
credentials in a little earlier. So a big shout to
mister Simmons. We will be there. Are guys gonna be there.
Big Chad to Lee, he's going to be out there,
and he's going to be in the building. What's my
man's name, ah, Media, I gotta put him out there

(13:25):
he goes, he'll be out there taking pictures for us.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Man.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
So it's gonna be a great thing again. It's gonna
be going down tonight. It's gonna be really great basketball.
But that particular game, the headliner, primetime billing is what
it should get. Number five in the nation, number one
the nation. They'll be squaring off tonight at eight pm
at the Toyota Arena. Make sure you get your tickets.
It's gonna be crazy. We're gonna be out there. It's
gonna be nuts.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Yes, and so it should be a really good game.
So I'll put predictions out there. It all depends on
who shows up. But I think ed Awanda, I think
one thing. Like I said, coach Stan has been after
for a minute, and I know Ontario has being Yeah
they don't have a great coaching staff and whatnot, but
coach Stan's been there.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yeah, he's battle tested, battle test. I wasn't been there.
Now he has film on that team.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
Yeah, and I just want to see what what what
coach Stan is going to pull out of his hand.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
It's gonna be great, man. I'm I'm really excited about that.
I was just I was really just hoping that the
teams would do what they need to do to win,
to see each.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Other again again.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
They played earlier in the season, I've got a chance
to kind of get some insight on both ends, you know,
and both of them. When they played earlier in the season,
it was more like a preseason game. Even though Edwanda
lost and that really kind of catapulted Ontario Christian up
the ranks. But even though they lost, Uh, it was
it was it was still it was still you know

(14:47):
Stan Fields. I mean, coach Stan feels good about his
his chances going forward. So nonetheless, we're gonna take a
quick break. We have Uh, I just got the text
that I was looking for. Coach Wells said he's ready,
He's gonna be in the building. So again, we're gonna,
We're gonna. We're gonna get Coach Wells on out about
the forty five minute mark. So I'm excited to have
him on. That's Coach Wells over from from Rancho Christian.
I know we have Ontario Christian tonight, but Rancho Christians

(15:09):
coming off a big, huge win over rat Toyota Renas.
We're gonna get him on the phone here shortly, but
we're gonna take a break.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
We come back.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
We have our special guest right here live in the studio,
Coach b So we're excited about that. We're gonna take
a quick break pacing bills and we will be right back.

We're gonna go ahead. Let this young lady introduce yourself
to our live radio audience. Please introduce yourself.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
Hi, my name is Coach K. I am the Fontana
Middle School Girls and Boys basketball coach.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Fantastic.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Now you are telling us off air that you've also
you also do some stuff at Grand Terrace as well, right, correct.

Speaker 7 (18:30):
I'm also the assistant assistant varsity coach and the head
JV coach at Fort Grand Terrast girls basketball.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Okay, fantastic.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
So give us a little background about how long you've
been doing it, cause, like when we came in there,
I had to ask you if you were twenty one
because I thought, you know, you have you look very
very I don't want to make sure that you were
of age. But please tell us how long you've been
coaching and give us a little background about your career.
You know, your actual experience in coaching.

Speaker 7 (18:55):
Yes, of course. So I actually started coaching when I
was seventeen, so straight out of high school. I actually
my first coaching job was at Reno Valley High School
because the head JV assistant varsity there, and then after
that my coaching career just kind of took off from there.
About three years ago, I accepted the job at Fontana
Middle School, and then last year I accepted the job
at Grand Teris High School. I also do personal skills training.

(19:19):
I started my personal business back in twenty eighteen when
I did start coaching. Also, so I've also been doing
one on one skills training for about seven years.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Also fantastic. Nice. So what is it about basketball? What
got you into coaching? Why? What's the passion?

Speaker 7 (19:35):
Well, when I was younger, I always see my dad
outside and the driveway just hooping getting shots of so
I decided to come out there one day and then
I just fell in love with it from there, and
I actually did bring my dad as my assistant coach. Also,
he just taught me everything I knew about basketball, so
I said why not?

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Yeah, So I also did hoop.

Speaker 7 (19:55):
I played middle school, I played high school. I went
all the way to stay in high school, and then
I also went to college. Sadly, I tore my a
cl and that's what kind of took me out of basketball.
But then I realized it's probably a blessing in disguise.
Now I'm here just giving back to the children as
best as possible.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Fantastic, Well, coach, being out, we tore our talent. That's
why we're over here doing radio. So we didn't turn
any near nothing, but our talent got tore, and and
that's why you see us behind the microphone right here.
Uh but nonetheless, so now you guys have you have
a special group here. Uh, and again we get we
got a chance to you know, look at what you
guys do. Uh, look at what you're You're you're passionate
about how you really go hard for these boys and

(20:34):
you're in your team on Fontana Middle But talk about
these young men that you guys have here in studio,
talk about your season.

Speaker 7 (20:39):
Yeah, So Fontana Middle School, like I said, I've been
here for about three years. These boys are truly amazing.
I've grown to love every single one of them. They've
all grown in their own special way, from personality to
skills wise. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm a skills trainer,
so we definitely emphasized a lot on skills. If everyone

(21:01):
is interested in personal skills training. My instagram is I
coach with two underscores two. I's coach with two underscores.
At the end, you guys are more than welcome to
DM ME. I can also help you guys out with that.
But yeah, coaching at Fontana Middle School has definitely been
a blessing. They have been amazing. I've seen all of
them grow in their own individual way from even just

(21:22):
grades wise. We put a lot of emphasis on grades
after school we do great checks every Friday. So just
having them in the beginning of season where they were
all struggling with grades. Now all of them practically have
straight a's. They don't play that on that side.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Yeah, that's good stuff right there. Now, that's all. I'm
sure the parents are excited about that part right there,
where you know, where the great they say, hey, look
at my look at look at my son's grades come up.
That's always a great thing. In addition to basketball. Well,
that's good stuff right there.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Now.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
Talk about now, I don't know if the season is
still going, but what are some of the goals that
you guys have, Like, you know, did you have personally
with the team, and then kind of what you're trying
to get the team collectively they have what kind of
goals you want them to have.

Speaker 7 (21:57):
So sadly our season did and on Thursday in playoffs,
but we can say that we made it to playoffs.
That's a big thing.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Yes, we'll cap it up for that, no doubt about it. Indeed,
goals for the team.

Speaker 7 (22:09):
I would just say, I feel like as a coach,
as long as I feel like they can go further
with me, then I feel like I did my job
as a coach. I feel like they've all, like I said,
grown as their own person. I've seen some of these
boys that was barely passing now they're passing all their classes.
Now they're making other you know teams. I know one
kid on my team, he played soccer, basketball.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
And volleyball. He all three sports.

Speaker 7 (22:32):
Things like that. That's what helps me become better as
a coach. Seeing my kids from last year playing varsity
basketball or even being able to make freshman basketball jv basketball,
that's the things I.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Like to see.

Speaker 7 (22:44):
I know that I succeeded as a coach if I'm
able to get those boys up to the next level.
And as long as I can get those boys up
to the next level, then I'm okay with that.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Fantastic again we have again, we have coach k right
here live at the iHeartRadio Studio, live on Fox Sports Radio.
I would be I don't know if you have another question, No, no,
I'm just.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Going to say it's it's I know that's that school
very well. My son now, who's twenty three, actually when
he was I think four, he played this before Jesse Turner.
They used to play games at fun Tan in middle school.
So the funtan in middle school Trojans. So yeah, yeah,
that's who my son was at.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
That's good.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
Yeah, yeah he's a he's a Fontana resident right there,
so he's you know, he's right there.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Now.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
I know we have I know we have your This
is your father, I imagine right.

Speaker 7 (23:22):
Here, yeahstant coachy looking at you the boss.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah no, no dad, you dad? Now come on now, Dad,
Like now, that would be crazy.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Now, I don't know, coach, how you how you would
work with you know, having one of your parents be
one of your assistant coach of coach.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
But I know that would be interesting for you. I
couldn't take orders from my daughter. I could not. I
know he would struggle with that.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
But talk about how it is right there, you know,
having the ability to have somebody like that that did
you know what's appointing you having your father right there
by your side.

Speaker 7 (23:50):
We actually have a very well balanced between like each other.
Like I said, even though he is my dad, we
do show that line of respect. I don't talk to
him crazy talk to me. We definitely show respect towards
each other. I mean, even though I am head coach,
I definitely listened to him. He gives me a lot

(24:11):
of pointers because I mean, at the end of the day,
he taught me.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
How to he taught me how to play basketball.

Speaker 7 (24:15):
So we kind of put our skills together involving you know,
he got the skill work and then I have the
logistics of the basketball, like okay, the offense, the defense.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
That nice.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
So you guys each other, Yes, yep, no question, that's good.
That's fantastic. Again, we're right here live. We have coach
k right here, find Tanam fine, tanem middle and then
you also all right grand terrace as well. So again
real quick, drop that I G again. We want to
make sure we get your you get your father on him.
We're gonna we're gonna introduce your players as well. So
drop that I G again. We'll contact you.

Speaker 7 (24:45):
Yes, So my instagram is I coach with two eyes.
I I coach with two underscores at the end. Once again,
that's I coach two eyes, coach with two underscores.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
At the end.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Thank you guys.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
Fantastic, that's good stuff. Well let's go ahead and get
your father to go ahead. Come on real quick again,
Fox Sports rad We're a live, We're a live at
the I Heart Radio studio again. They're gonna, he's gonna
he's been doing he's been hooking his daughter up. Now
because you know how these young.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Ladies are, they gotta they gotta record it now it
didn't happen. That's good stuff.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
Again, it's coach bed turn over right here live at
the iHeart Radio studio. Sir, if you be kind enough
to please introduce yourself to our live radio audience.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
Yes, my name is Coach Johnson.

Speaker 10 (25:23):
You know I'm an assistant coach.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
I love that. That's good stuff right there.

Speaker 10 (25:28):
I'm assistant coach to Coach k wonderful coach. I have
to say, uh, and again talking about our relationship, Uh,
we do compliment each other.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
I like to think that she said I taught her
everything she knows.

Speaker 10 (25:44):
Actually, I taught her a lot, but I guess I
taught her so much that she got to a point
where she kind of left me. Yeah, because I gave
her a lot in the beginning. So there's a lot
of stuff that she didn't have to learn when she
was young, right, So right, she was paying tens of
other stuff. So she intends to coaching and like I said,
in the logistics of the game and turned out to

(26:04):
be a wonderful coach.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
I'm very proud of.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
That's good stuff right there. That's fantastic. Now, how is
it again? You're right here, you're coaching these gentlemen. Like
we were talking off air, it's just really great to
get these kids while they're young, you know again, eighth
or seventh grade and then you know, kind of get
them molded to that when they go to that next level.
But how is it working with these young men over here?
Have font tentamental?

Speaker 2 (26:25):
It's a great experience.

Speaker 10 (26:27):
I kind of also like the idea that you know,
as I tell them, you know, when they come in,
they have to understand it's not just about basketball.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
You know, we're big on education.

Speaker 10 (26:36):
We're trying to get boys, the men, you know what
I'm saying, which is a big thing. So a lot
of things comes in with respect, right, hard work, you know,
understanding dedication, How they relating basketball to life, because if
you put the two together, you know they do correlate,
no question. So yeah, so we put all those things
in their head to let them know that, you know,

(26:56):
when we talk about hard work, it's not just about
on this floor, but you got to do it outside.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
You know, you're talking about respect.

Speaker 10 (27:02):
It's not just here, it's outside. Because the same respect
that you give here that gets you playing time, it's
also the same respect is going to.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Get you those good grades.

Speaker 10 (27:09):
It's gonna get you those teachers that's going to look
at you and say, Okay, you know what, if I
need to give him a break, okay, you know what,
I can't because I know he's.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
A good kid.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
I know he's working hard. Those kind of things, these
kinds of things, no questions, no question.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Do you ever have to tell the head coach I'm
gonna give you a time out because you're not listening.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Do you ever right?

Speaker 10 (27:26):
You want to know?

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Look at it was like I got a lie. I
am dead.

Speaker 10 (27:34):
Now come on, you know what, Like I said, we
have we have a beautiful relationships, fantastic.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Actually we've had a great relationship since good since you know.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Since they were a little Yeah, and you know I
love Yeah, go ahead, I said, I love listening to
Dave Ramsey. He talks about this. He said, you have
to wipe your butt syndrome. If you wipe your your kids.
But when they were growing up, you don't have to
listen to them. So that's how I tell my kids
all the time.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
You know what.

Speaker 10 (28:00):
One of the things that I used to tell my
children all the time is that I'm never too young,
too old to learn.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
That's my problem. So yeah, and I tell my kids,
I ain't learned nothing from it. No, I told them.
I told him, never be too old to learn something.

Speaker 10 (28:14):
And so whatever she does, like I said, I look
at it objectively and try to take from it. I
try to learn from whatever she's bringing to them. And
I can tell you, when it comes to dealing with
children or young people, I should say, she's I don't know.
She has this way of motivating them, this way of
making them do things that you would not otherwise see

(28:38):
them do. And it's crazy how she does it, you know.
And I'll come there and I'll do the old school things.
I'm from a different generation, so yeah, but she'll come
in there and she'll get twice as much work with
less talking.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Well I did all this scream My blood freshes up
right twenty five. You know, She's like, hey, you know
what I need, y'all do this?

Speaker 10 (28:59):
And you know, and so she's, like I said, I
think probably the biggest thing about her coaching is the
way she's able to motivate.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
Right, all these young people we were a little bit differ,
yea our generation throw objects at us.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
Man, so totally that was my dad. What it is
it is right there. We'll again, coach. We we really
appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
You have done an amazing job with this young lady
here and obviously adam shit what she already has in
the tank. So it's just great to see what you
guys are doing. We're gonna go ahead and bring these
young men in real quick. So we're gonna line these
these gentlemen up again. We have Fontana middle so hey,
go ahead, come on, come on, we're gonna we got
gonna line up. My man right here. He's ready to go.
He's been, he's been, he's been chopping at the bit man.

(29:40):
it's your time to shine, right yeah, yeah, y'all get
lined up.

the games, and she's honestly the best coach I've had.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
Now, now talk about the meals and the hold ons.
Ill now how the how the meals go before the game.

Speaker 11 (30:24):
They're good.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
I like that coach, and then tell me a little
bit about it.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
I know sports are great, but on the academic side,
your coaches really push you.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Man, What is that like to have them pushing you
to get better?

Speaker 11 (30:34):
I think it's good because it helps me get better grades,
just not just for sports, but to make my parents happiest.

stuff right there with young man.

Speaker 17 (38:09):
I feel like he just has that motivational play.

Speaker 4 (38:12):
Yeah, like my favorite memory one.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Time he dislocated his thing. He's like popped it back
into the place just to play. Yeah. Did you see
the video of him on the bench when he popped
it back.

Speaker 4 (38:21):
He told Gary Gary by get back in cut me Mick, No,
no thing right now, tell everybody again we're right here
live on the radio. So tell everybody what you like
about playing with the Trojans Coach k and Coach Johnson,
like all.

Speaker 17 (38:36):
My teammates, just gives that good vibe, you know, like
after school, I really look forward to.

Speaker 4 (38:41):
Going to practice nice.

Speaker 17 (38:43):
It's very fun funny, especially that the times that coach
always has her phone now always catch your recording. And
Coach Johnson, you know, he really teaches me how to
be a man.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
How to like grow up.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
That's fantastic. That's a good guy. That's Hey. Here's another
thing I want you to look up.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
So most players, if you if you like when Isaiah
popped as a Killer's tenants, he played for the Detroit Pistons,
his career was done. Kobe popped as a kiling and
walked off shot free throws and then walked off the car.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
I mean he was just built different, different. If we
would just look that up, I've never seen that mound.
And then he came back and was the same play
other dominique did it done? Isaiah done?

Speaker 3 (39:21):
I know these people from a long time ago, so
you know, yeah, as your parents, you know, so we
didn't have.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Four K back then.

Speaker 4 (39:29):
So yeah, but again we really appreciate you coming to studio. Man,
thank you so much. Okay, and keep up to good work.
We're gonna keep eye on you. All right there, We're
gonna have Coach K come back on real quick again.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
We are we are.

Speaker 4 (39:39):
We left to have the good folks from Fontana Middle School,
the Trojans and again all led by Coach K and
Coach Johnson, a father, a daughter and father. Combo, haven't
out Have you ever seen that on the bitch before,
Coach B.

Speaker 5 (39:53):
I have not.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
I'm sure it's happened. Yeah, the parent coaching that generally.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
Yeah, we had last year we had Coach Smith and
his daughter Kiana Smith on the bench with us. But
this year we got I mean, this year we have
Coach K here in the studio with the father.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Go ahead, places on.

Speaker 10 (40:07):
Let's say, isn't it what we inspire to have the
the child become better than the.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
That's what we do, don't.

Speaker 5 (40:16):
You got.

Speaker 6 (40:20):
No?

Speaker 2 (40:21):
But yes, you're right you all right, Yes, it's always
aspired to be greater than that.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
It's good, Coach K. What a great group of kids
you have. I mean, I'm sure It was inspirational for
you to hear those those those great testimonials from your kids.

Speaker 5 (40:33):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
But again, coach, Uh, we want to make sure we
have you in the congratulations. I mean, you got a
great group of young men here. Again, I mean, how
do you feel about hearing those kids just talk so
well about what you and your father are.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Doing over there?

Speaker 7 (40:46):
It made me a little emotional.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
I'm not going, but it was.

Speaker 7 (40:52):
It was really sweet to hear that because I'm I
always want to make sure that I can be the
best coach that I can be for all of my teams,
especially with me getting stretched out coaching four teams this
past season. It was hard. It was very stressful. So
there was times where I felt like in my head,
like am I being a good coach to these kids
and everything like that. So for them to say all
those good things about coaching, I it makes me kind

(41:12):
of regroup, like, Okay, maybe I am doing.

Speaker 4 (41:14):
Something, Yes, fantastic, you are good enough? Yeah yeah, well again,
you're doing a phenomenal job. You and your father are
doing phenomenal job. We appreciate you guys all coming in
studio of other day. If you guys don't mind hanging
out for a second. We're gonna we're gonna wrap up
some stuff here and then we'll get a chance to
talk to you.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Guys. Get off their Okay, there is right there.

Speaker 7 (41:30):
Guys, for listening so much, I greatly appreciate it. If
anyone any middle school boys or girls, can I coach
the girls and the boys six two eighth grade come
to Fontana Middle I promise you'll you'll enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
She said it like she likes, like sure, come to
death rock.

Speaker 4 (41:43):
Yeah, the coaches. You don't want to dancing, like, let
me do it. That's good stuff right there. Again, Coach,
keep up the phenomenal work. You and your father are doing.
Great job. And again we again can't wait to see
what the future hos for you.

Speaker 2 (41:57):

gentleman so much for making itself available. Coat are live
on the air. Please do us the courtesy of introducing
yourself to.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Our live radio audience.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
Marlon.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
We thank.

Speaker 5 (43:59):
With the I E.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
There it is there. It is coach hey man, thank you.
And you didn't even lose your voice, man, so that
let me know you really was doing your thing last night.

Speaker 4 (44:10):
You're coming off of a phenomenal, phenomenal victory.

Speaker 5 (44:14):
You know.

Speaker 4 (44:14):
It's funny. One of the girl's mother when we were
posting the rankings, she said, this is a special team.
Talk about just how special this team is. Again, this
is Coach Wells from Rancho Christian. You guys just came
up with the big victory of just talk about how
special your team is this.

Speaker 5 (44:30):
Year, man, real special. We got a group of four seniors,
four freshman, two juniors and the sophomore. So it's a
mixed group, but our senior leadership is tremendous and it
starts with Julia Wilson Man, great kids. She's headed to
Gonzaga next year. Then we got Della Cosmi who's going
to Utah State, so we got to Division one pac

(44:54):
twelve actually point guards on our squad with great leadership
and throwing Haley Whitt then and there she's going to
Oklahoma Christian. It's just a special group of hard workers
that were really committed. We got kids driving from San Diego.
We're in Tobako. We got kids from San Diego East
Vale and they're committed. So you know, you commit to me,
I'm going to commit to you one hundred percent. And

(45:16):
it's just a tremendous run.

Speaker 4 (45:18):
That's good stuff right there, and give talking to coach
Wells of Rancho. Christian just captured the Division one CIF
Girls championship last night. Now you know again, Brentwood, I mean,
obviously they knocked off Marina Valley.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
I know that you you guys, you guys had a
couple of matches with Marina Valley and Marina Valley was
able to have some success with you.

Speaker 4 (45:37):
But talk about how you feel, how you feel you
guys were able to be successful last night again on
a neutral court.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
Uh you know, you know that.

Speaker 4 (45:45):
I know that course kind of hard to play with
because of just how it is, how big it is.
But just talk about you know, uh, you guys meeting
the moment and coming to victorious.

Speaker 5 (45:55):
Yeah, yeah, you know we did a good job of
doubting them. We saw them play Marino Valley thought ma
Reno Valley had the game one to have beat him,
kind of fell apart a little bit, and it was
just about the matchup. We match up very well with Brentwood,
where we don't match up with uh Ma Reno Valley
down in that paint. So you know, watching film and

(46:18):
we just we just kind of took control of the
game right right from the jump and we we led,
we led from beginning to the end.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
And coach, I want to ask you this.

Speaker 3 (46:27):
I know you you you want to give love to
your players and whatnot, but as a coach, you know,
when the season starts and you guys are out there
practicing and you're getting ready for the season, has this,
uh has this exceeded your expectations? What is it like
for you to say, I am a c i F
championship coach man?

Speaker 5 (46:47):
And you know this is stuff you always think about
at the beginning of the year. You want to you know,
that's all the wins, the wins.

Speaker 13 (46:52):
C IF and go on to State and win and
you know this is this is my seventh c IF championship,
you know Dayton back to my San Diego days and
this is our second one here in four years that
Rancho Christian and.

Speaker 5 (47:05):
It just feels good and every time it just gets better.
Better and better, and I mean last night it wasn't
a greater feeling. And then just waking up this morning, like, man,
we're champions and you know, like you said, you know,
away from the players, man, my assistant coaches are great.
They're the ones that hold it down. Man, because I
get out there, I fussed a lot, so you're tired

(47:29):
of me. But just our work and dedication through through
everybody in the program. But but but that was that
was just a great question because no one really kind
of focused on the coaches. And I'll tell you what, man,
it feels great because you practice to win and that's what.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
We did right right now.

Speaker 5 (47:46):
Now.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
Now, the next thing I would ask you is a coach,
are you already get because you said you have some returners,
are you already getting ready for next year?

Speaker 2 (47:54):
Are you going to They got State? So yeah, so
talk about what the next step is then.

Speaker 5 (48:02):
So the next step is State and you know, hopefully
well get a good draw tomorrow after the CD. But
another great question, we are getting ready for next year?
We have we have a lot of returners. I'm telling you, man,
my fresh group that we're bringing in is probably one
of the best in the country. Wow, So you always
put on put on you guys, post is I E

(48:24):
has heat.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
So you're saying you're going to be here next year, coach,
what you're saying he like, put it, put it out there.

Speaker 5 (48:33):
Yeah, I tell you guys, what I tell you guys,
what we might be better this year? Wow?

Speaker 4 (48:41):
Wow, Wow, that's saying a lot. That's saying a lot.
That's saying a lot of right here live.

Speaker 5 (48:46):
With best ball, best ball in the country.

Speaker 4 (48:49):
Speaking of that now, now, I don't know how you
feel about this, coach, because I mean, these are both
teams and I don't I know you played at A one.
I don't know if you playing Ontario Christian uh, but
we played both. You did play both. Now, since you
played both, I mean you got I'm sure you got
a book full of notes on what to do with
both of those teams. I mean, they are just a nightmare,
both of them. But they're competing the night number one.

(49:11):
Just as a competitor, talk about the excitement when you
have two teams. You know, these are the best teams,
one of the best teams in the nation, right here
in your backyard. But maybe kind of get get some
context about how you feeling about this this great game
we're going to see the night at eight o'clock.

Speaker 5 (49:25):
Well, you guys alex level game, but I forgot about
the uame And you got two players on at a
one you got took that was all American, right, So
you got buff Race over there, but Shane up rule

(49:48):
a couple of kids off the bench. It's gonna be exciting.
But I'll tell you what, man, that's Special K and
Tattie Griffin. They they are two different.

Speaker 4 (49:57):
I tell everybody about I tell everybody because everybody talks
about Special K and obviously they talk about Sydney. But
I tell him myself, Miss Griffin. I said, man, that
young lady plays with an edge.

Speaker 5 (50:07):
Oh, Coty is probably the best dollar and I special
But when this all said, Ms Griffin is gonna be
the one to be wreckon with.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (50:19):
Yeah, just like you said, coach, he plays with the edge.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
Yeah, that's that's what I see. I see her.

Speaker 4 (50:25):
She plays with the edge and really just has a
great skill set, you know, and that and that's the
stuff you can't teach. I mean you know that as
a coach.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
It's hard. I mean you can, you might, you might
get you know, kind of teach folks how.

Speaker 4 (50:34):
To get to a layup. But playing with that edge
and then you know understanding how to kind of keep
everything moderated. That's special right there. So now do you
have a do you have a prediction? Are you going
to keep that close to the vest?

Speaker 2 (50:44):
You just want to see it. Let us let you know,
let you're live on the radio. Coach, go ahead and
drop drop a dime.

Speaker 9 (50:49):
Man.

Speaker 5 (50:50):
I hate to saying I'm get bird for this one,
but Ontario, okay, he.

Speaker 4 (51:00):
Said, And now now now go ahead, I mean again,
real quick, we gotta got a minute level. Let everybody
know what what are you thinking? Why are you thinking
that's gonna happen?

Speaker 5 (51:10):
Well, they got tremendous playing guard play. But like Achie,
Griffin has that edge, and I don't see anyone over
there that could match up with even even Grace will
probably have to get on Sidney. Sochi Griffin has that
edge and it's I mean, it's just something about that.

(51:31):
And she has a chip on her shoulder.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
Yes, yes he is.

Speaker 5 (51:34):
But then you got a special k It was real good.
But Puff and Grace they're not going down easy. They're
back to back state champions, national champions. So but playing
them both give a slight edge to Ontario.

Speaker 2 (51:49):
Yeah, but I'll ask you tonight, did so you got that?
I went with one.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
It probably has to do with the fact that I
have three kids and graduated there. But but that USC
U c l A game, and right now, s he
got him at home. U c l A's at him.
I think I'm an see fan. I think U c
l A gets it tonight. And what's your prediction on
that code? Now?

Speaker 2 (52:09):
Now, now he.

Speaker 4 (52:10):
Didn't beat him with three times in a row, I
think if I'm not mistaken, I don't.

Speaker 2 (52:14):
I don't know if they beat them three times in
a row.

Speaker 5 (52:16):
No, I don't know if they beat them times in
a row. So they lost one last year?

Speaker 4 (52:19):
Yeah, okay, they lost one last year.

Speaker 5 (52:21):
Okay, okay, So you know my daughter graduated from three
years ago. Was that South Carolina before that? I'm going
with the USC.

Speaker 2 (52:30):
Okay, there you go, Okay, and a.

Speaker 5 (52:33):
Closer one and the closer one over there too, So
he got two tremendous games. Actually, then you throw that boy.

Speaker 2 (52:39):
That boys game.

Speaker 4 (52:40):
That's why I said like this this think about it,
and that lets you know how how far girls basketball
is coming. We're talking about we're talking about the main event,
the girls game.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
I mean that, lets you know, did you see have
a boys team?

Speaker 1 (52:51):
No?

Speaker 5 (52:51):
No, no, no, I'm talking about that that that open
division boys.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
He was being funny saying, he's like, he's like, that's
how far in the dump's us?

Speaker 2 (52:59):
He's I didn't even know.

Speaker 3 (53:02):
I'm a USC fan since I was a kid, I
didn't realize they had a boys team.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
Ear Oh the bronze son went there.

Speaker 4 (53:09):
Yes, no, we're we're we're pulling for Roosevelt. Now they
got the Big three, so no, it's it's going to
be like the ies on the map. You guys went
in again. Again, kudos to excuse me, Rancho Christian. You
guys came out there. Uh you know, really just what
you guys had to do, I mean, uh, just Harvard Westlake.
You guys just knocked them all off. So again, congratulations coach.

Speaker 5 (53:32):
We ended we did Black History Month with a bang man.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
Yes you did, I heard that. Coach.

Speaker 4 (53:38):
Well again, thank you so much for making yourself available. Congratulates.
I wanted to make sure that we got you on
the air again. You you're just doing a phenomenal job.
It was great to meet you. Formally earlier this year. Uh,
but again, congratulations coach. Keep up the good work and
then you're doing a mazing job.

Speaker 5 (53:52):
Yeah you guys too, and I love that post. And
guys on the radio on Saturdays and keep doing what
you're doing. Man, let's keep this thing growing and looking
forward to my girls playing in an All Star game. Yes, yes, Vea,
but that's gonna be a Grady Bent as well. Man.
Keep promoting that.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
Thank you so m thank you so much. Coach.

Speaker 4 (54:11):
Keep up the good work.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
Man. We appreciate you calling in.

Speaker 5 (54:14):
Yep, there it is right there.

Speaker 4 (54:15):
That's coach Marlon Wells over there at Rancho Christian. Coach
be doing a phenomenal job. I mean, it's it's going
to be a great night of basketball, Coach Be. I
mean like like like Coach Wells said, you got the
you got the USC versus U c l A. Then
you have you have Rancho Christian. I mean, ek me,
you have Roosevelt. I think they're taking on do you

(54:36):
do you have that deal over there? Coach who Roosevelt's
playing Roosevelt?

Speaker 2 (54:40):
You know my internet is I believe second my internet
went down. I'm not on the stations internet.

Speaker 4 (54:46):
Okay, I was just okay, here we go. I got
it right here. So Roosevelt is playing, I should I mean,
what am I doing? I should have this information like
right here after ready? Uh, okay, they're playing Notre Dame
Sherman Oaks. So they got Sherman Oaks tonight, number three
Sherman Oaks, and then you got number one Roosevelt play.
And also just real quick to some other quick not
II games while we have a quick brief moment, some

(55:07):
other teams that are playing tonight. Romona, Oh my goodness,
my lips getting a little quivery.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
Coach B.

Speaker 4 (55:14):
Now, we haven't been back. When I say we, my
Romona Rams, I gotta clap it up for that, you know,
clap it up for that, real quick.

Speaker 2 (55:21):
My Romona Rams.

Speaker 4 (55:23):
We haven't been to the CIF playoffs. I mean since
we were writing on Stone, Coach B. It's been a lot.
It's been at least I don't know, thirty plus year.
It's been a minute, it's been it's been a minute.
So really excited to see them back. Had a great
record this year twenty six and six, and they're taking
on Santiago tonight. Matter of fact, that game has already
started that game started at nine to thirty, so they're

(55:45):
tipping off that game quickly. And then also to local teams.
You have a Quantas right there in the great heart
of sam Bordino and they're taking on San Dimas today.
That'll be at eleven fifteen.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
And then you have.

Speaker 4 (55:57):
Fontana Kaiser right around the corner from a coach b Uh.
They're twenty and ten and they're taking on the good
folks over that Diamond Ranch. Always Diamon Ranch, always have
the competitive team over there. And I believe that is
it for our I E teams if I'm not mistaken. So, uh,
my apologies Citrus Hill. I mean we haven't talked about
Citrus Hill in ages. Uh, but they have made a

(56:18):
big time comeback. So they'll be taking on California, the
state namesake. They'll be taking them on at four pm
to day.

Speaker 3 (56:25):
Coach b Yeah, I think that's the team in Whittier,
So good for them, man, Yeah, yeah, California High School
is in Wittier, So you know, my downy vikings are out.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
Yeah. I saw that, man saw that they beat bomat
the girls and then the boys beat j W. North.
Just saying oh wow, just wow, wow.

Speaker 4 (56:40):
Okay, you had to.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
I mean, how'd you find that? Where'd you find that?

Speaker 5 (56:43):
In it?

Speaker 2 (56:43):
I mean I had to I had to look deep.
I had to look deep. But you know, we got
we got it.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
Nonetheless, you know, I'm just trying to enjoy my peace.
I'm on Facebook, and and again this is what us
talking about with GCU. They're putting up pictures about when
they won the tournament last year. It's like, come on now, yeah,
we hold bulletin board.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
Yeah, I better stop all that.

Speaker 4 (56:59):
Man, they gonna mess to get it's gonna be so
it'snn they're gona miss round.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
It be on sports and the Nike playing.

Speaker 3 (57:03):
Yeah, it's gonna be an interesting, uh tournament. So, like
I said, I cut my tournament. Sure, I don't see
us in the championship game. But you know because CBU
who you start playing? Well real quick. Grant Fuster, Okay,
so he's back, he's back healthy. He left the the
combine last year, came back. Harrison is is good. But

(57:24):
we have a freshman that is is legit legit man,
so were we. So you know, the core right now
are seniors. So we'll see how next year looks.

Speaker 4 (57:32):
Yeah, and I got to give a big shout out
to you see r they haven't you know, you see
our the girls basketball hasn't hasn't, hasn't moved forward like well,
they have a how about this? They have a great
record this year. Big shout the coach, first year coach Langston. Uh,
he's doing a phenomenal job over there, so big shout
to him. But you see, our girls are doing great
right now. Knocked off Hawaii the other night, so uh,

(57:55):
we got to get them in the studio soon then later.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
So happy to see that.

Speaker 3 (57:58):
Yeah, and that's gonna be speaking of why it's interesting
because the you know, the conference realignment, Hawaii joined the
Mountain West. Yes, and you know the Mountain West. I'm
gonna say this, the Mountain West and the Pack whatever,
they need to just merge, just quickly and get it
over with because if you did that, you could have
a strong West coach conference.

Speaker 5 (58:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (58:19):
But yeah, yeah, no, I totally agree with that. Again
coach being E. Turner right here, big shout out to
our guest today. Man, I mean, let me tell you something,
coach be I mean, these kids come in more mature
by the day. I mean, you would have had me
in here at eighth grade. I would have tore that
whole interview up, but they'd have been like, get this
man off the microphone. So big shout out to Fontana
Middle coach k Coach Johnson, a daughter father duo whereas

(58:44):
you know, the daughter's head coach the father of the
assistant coach. They have a great thing going on. And
you can also check her out there and you also
can see on the sidelines over at Grand Terrace.

Speaker 3 (58:53):
Absolutely, so yeah, it's gonna be good stuff. We're looking
