was the launch that. It was that that that game,
the Inland Valley Basketball Classic, that launched all the other
games we do.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yeah, it really was. My allergies are killing men.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Goodness.

Speaker 7 (03:27):
Okay, it's okay. You know you did good by covering up.
At least you're not you know, you know you're not
knocking anything over.

Speaker 8 (03:32):
Man.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Yeah, I tell the wife all the time. Sneezing is
probably one of the dumbest things that your body does.
Could you spit all over yourself? I hate sneeze.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Oh my goodness. That that and hiccups, yeah, hiccups. Yeah
is the worst.

Speaker 7 (03:43):
But yeah, man, a great side that going on. We
have a loaded house. It is media day for the
r s A Inland Empire All Star Basketball Classic that's
gonna be taking place on the thirteenth Coach b right
there at the in the gra city of Marina Valley
at Marina Valley High School. We just had coach coach right,
Coach Larry uh In here. Just a second ago. We

(04:05):
were looking at the back end stuff, man, But we're
excited about it. Uh, we have the sheriffs. I don't coach.
You got to tell me, man, how long have we
been working with the sheriff?

Speaker 9 (04:13):
A long time?

Speaker 8 (04:14):
I know.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
It was the second year we did the game. We
did the uh the r s a football game. Thank goodness.
Social media wasn't as big as it. O. Man, that
was a tough game. That was a tough but members
were floating. Yeah, you build it and they will come.
So but like you said, it's me day.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
You gotta love it.

Speaker 10 (04:31):
Man.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
You got the eighth grade futures game coach K from
Fontana Middle. Uh, it's the coach coach j from Monstars.

Speaker 8 (04:38):
Yep?

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Is that like the wh who?

Speaker 8 (04:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Like like the U like the Space Jam I think.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
I said, I'm thinking Hoop drinks Space Jam Space the
original Space Jam Lebron James.

Speaker 7 (04:49):
And uh, oh my goodness, I can't. I watched about
two minutes of that coach being went to sleep right right,
and I don't want to butcher up our Rancho Cucamonga
coaches coach Josh.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Okay, they make it easy.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I make it easy. You go. I'm not gonna do
it either.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
From Rancho Francho Kukaman and then you have coach right
from Obile. That's the girls game. Uh, the eighth grade
game tips off at three next Saturday, the the girls
game tips off at four, and then the boys games
at five o'clock. And that's coach Pat from Grand Terrace
and coach Coach and then our Ramona Well.

Speaker 7 (05:20):
You okay, you do that now, Coach B I'm emotional.
You know when I saw him, had to shake his
hand because the Ramona shirt. He had the Ramona shirt on,
and I tossed him and you know, you guys haven't
been that we haven't been that far.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
I said. I had had to put the we out.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Now you can say we because you are Ramona ram
not a Dallas cowboy. No, no, no, so you can
say we. So you can say you went there. Your
diploma says Ramona High School.

Speaker 7 (05:43):
You know, a multiple sport athlete, you know, you know,
you know, I what four? I think I was engaged
in four different sports. Uh, you know I ran track,
I played basketball, I wrestled, and I played football. You know,
all all of those. I think I the best one
I probably did was track.

Speaker 8 (06:02):
You know.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
Basketball. They cut me early, you know, they they said,
they said take it back to parking wreck. Yes, football,
they said, yeah, you know the one, the one twelve,
the one fifteen weight is not cutting it.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Yes, And you wrestled at one twelve.

Speaker 7 (06:15):
I wrestled out. I started at one twelve. Wow, and
you said that out loud. I said it out loud. Man,
I was slim, trim and you're five to nine. Yeah,
and you said that out loud. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
one twelve. But let me tell you something. I struggled
making weight. Uh, and so I went, I moved up
to one fifteen. Let me tell you something. This one thing,
I've three pounds. Yeah, your niece is here.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Hey, look, let me tell you something.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
You have no idea because the next weight up was
I think it was like one twenty or something like that.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Okay, one twenty five.

Speaker 7 (06:48):
If I'm not straying, and you have no idea what
that five pounds feels like? I mean, you think, you know,
you know, you think somebody is only a five pounds.
That's not a big deal. No, No, that weight is a
serious front. So this like were boxing when you know
they say, hey, Walter, wate this way and you don't
want to go up away class?

Speaker 4 (07:04):
All right, Well, I think I was in high school.
I was like one seventy five, so I don't know
what one twelve. I think the last time was one twelve.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
I was like four.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
You know, see see what you doing right there?

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yes, you know when we were kids and nutrition in
the Hub City wasn't so good.

Speaker 7 (07:25):
You know, well you know what I mean. Look, I
was drinking. I look, I'll take it back. We were
drinking the milk. We had to put the water in there.
So what I mean, that's that's that's that's how far
I go back.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
We were drinking super Socco and I don't think you
can even get that out here. You know, once you
crossed the six on five, they stopped making the super
soccer the super SoC on you test. You took me
back to a very very when I hit the corner store.
You know what I'm looking at? You know what I
was looking for right there? Yes again coach b and
he turning right here Fox Sports Radio again.

Speaker 7 (07:53):
It is media day. We are so excited about it.
We have a full house. We have the eighth graders
in here. One of the young man is funnycause I've
been talking to these these youngsters, and these youngsters are
so advanced way the they're You know, if you'd have
talked to me in eighth grade, you'd have been like,
he can't even pronounce his words correctly, But these eighth
graders are really good. He's remedial, yes, yes, but really excited.

(08:18):
I got a chance to talk to one of these
one of these young men. His dad was actually in UH.
I think he was in Chicago getting ready to watch
the Final four. So, you know, it's great to see
these kids and he got good chances to talk to
the parents, see what kind of stuff they have going on.
But these kids are really they're excited. It's the eighth grade.
It's the fourth year we have done the eighth grade

(08:39):
All Star Game Riverside versus sabern Dno just gotten bigger again.
We're really excited. As you mentioned, we have Coach K.
Coach K wasn't able to make it today. She had
a prior engagement because Coach K is representing UH for
the for Fontana Middle School. The first time we've had
a young lady coach the eighth grade game. So we're
really excited about that. And then you have like, as

(09:00):
you mentioned, we have coach J representing for the monstar.
So again, we have a young man coming in. I
think he uh, he goes to Wayne Rubble. You know
what that's that, Coach Wayne Rubles. Wayne Ruble, uh uh.
That's a middle school and we have a young man
from there. And then we have two Marina Valley kids,
if I'm not mistaken. So it's gonna be great. But

(09:21):
I'm really excited about that. And then the girls game,
which is always I mean, you know, the the game
everybody comes to.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Everybody loves the eighth grade game.

Speaker 7 (09:29):
But the one that's most competitive, Coach b no question,
is the girl's game. And I've been telling these boys
and boys, I gotta y'all have to step it up, man,
because the girls coming out there, they are on the ground,
they are scrapping and and and then when they get done,
they shake camps like that never happens, crazy, right right right.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Yes, it should be a it should be a great game.
I'm looking forward to it, really good game. Excited about it.
It is once.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
Again, it is the uh it is.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
A Riverside Shares Association All star class that gotta make
or the bill is there. One of the great things
that we like to do is you know this is
what happens when you talk to people are manufacturer.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
She was just like the best thing since sliced bread.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Talked about these polos and these polos, and you got
to have them, you got to get them.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
So we got them.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
So this year the coaches will have custom polo shirts.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
The first time.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
I think we've done these games six or seven years,
the first and it's debuting in basketball. It's the first
time we're gonna ever have custom polo shirts.

Speaker 7 (10:26):
I'm excited about. That's a big deal. Let me tell
you something, Coach B. When I saw cause you said
you hadn't pulled it out yet. When I pulled out
that material, I mean, these are like, these are no raws,
dress for less. This norse strums right right, right right,
This is a top shelf, top quality. So I mean,
I think a lot of coaches are going to say,
you know, because I know a lot of them, you
know that they they gotta want to they want to

(10:47):
wear their school.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Pride right right.

Speaker 7 (10:48):
But when they see these polos and they see the quality,
I mean they're gonna say, hey, honey, I need to
wear this to brunch right right, this is this is
I could wear this to brunch. So uh, I'm I'm
gonna have one on. I'm really excited. And I see
you didn't bring you didn't bring the fox hat today?
You bringing you represent.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
I got the wrong hat on my my head is
in the car.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
But I thought maybe you were making a statement or
something like that that you know what my cat is
in the car?

Speaker 1 (11:15):
I was I got. I thought maybe you were making
a little fascion savment.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
No, no, no.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
When I got here, I was in a rush because
me and there were getting the jerseys out and the
and the polo shirts, and because my hat was in
the car, because I'm.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
Notorious for forgetting stuff.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
So I just threw on the hat as I was
coming out of the house and I said, oh, yeah,
my hat's in.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
The car because I couldn't find it. So yeah, so
in the car you were gonna put a hat on.
I know that's from both me and you. I know
both of us have we have hair issues. You're not
gonna see it as too many times without the hat.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Yes, yes, so I got it. Before we take pictures
with everyone, I will go get a hat.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
It is right.

Speaker 7 (11:48):
I just thought I don't know if you were making
like a fashion statement today. I didn't know you know,
you know, cause I know you. I know you have
that car. So that's where you were going for No, no.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
No, no, not today, not today, not today, man.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
But again, it's gonna be a great Saturday. As we mentioned,
it's going to be at Morino Valley High School. We're
really excited about this. The first game, as coach be mentioned,
first game tips off at three o'clock. That's going to
be the eighth grade future its River Cyrusus sam Ardino.
And then immediately thereafter you're going to have the girls
high School All Star Game, a class of twenty twenty five.
We have a young lady in here, but we've seen
this young lady really come up and blossom. Young Carrington

(12:21):
Davis's in here. We're really excited to have her play.
But nonetheless, and then we have the boys game. And
as coach being mentioned, I might be on there crying
because my alma mater is coaching the game. So if
we start losing, Coach b I might get on the bench.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Suit up.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
Put you know what I'm saying, the bitch, that's your
position from high school.

Speaker 8 (12:40):
Man.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Just stay there, man, motivate everybody, get them ready, man,
you know, you know.

Speaker 7 (12:46):
What funny and funny thing is the athletic director that
is currently. They are big up to coach Tibbles, who
was really being gracious allowing us to use the gym
for practice.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
We're really we appreciate that.

Speaker 7 (12:58):
But Coach Tibbles, he used to be the girls coach
when I was there, so he knows all about my
basketball acumen.

Speaker 8 (13:05):
He knows.

Speaker 7 (13:05):
There was a running bet that I had when I
was a freshman that I was going dunk. When I
was a senior, I never got that. I never dunked, unfortunately,
So you know, that's that's what it is, man. So
I put it out there like that. But again, Ramona,
we're excited to have Ramona be one of the coaches.
And it's going to be a great, great turnout. So
that's going to be going down. That's next weekend, and
we do it on Sunday. Everybody asked us, like why

(13:26):
is it on Sunday. We do it on Sunday because
it's Prom season. Indeed, it's Prom season. Most folks have
prom that night, and and Coach B and I we
didn't understand that first until we saw the young ladies
coming in with the eyelashes on the game day and
we're like, what's going on the eyelashes? Well, they just
came right from prom to the game. So we again
we appreciate those young ladies making themself available even though

(13:47):
prom is that night. That's I mean, I don't know
if I would have been you know me personally, I'd
have been like, hey, I'm still in prom mode. But nonetheless,
the young ladies, they come out there, they do their things,
so it's really exciting.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
I tell you, in twenty sixteen, I understood what promo
mode was my daughter's senior year.

Speaker 5 (14:00):
That's over three grands. It was. It was nasty. It
was nast so pre inflation.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
I know, I know you're like, I gotta go, I
need to go, and that I need to go in
that limo.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
Then yeah, yeah, you said.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
You know, the crazy thing is we bought my daughter
a prime dress and then you know, you spend a
couple of hundred bucks on that, and then my wife says,
oh now we got to get it alt and that
costs just as much as the dress.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
But this was the point.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
I know you were saying, like I can make the dress.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Yeah, you was a guy, You just go get a
thirty dollar tucks and then you're good.

Speaker 5 (14:28):
You take it back the.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Next day and you take it. That's it, and try
not to get a stain on it.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
That's it. That's that's kids nowadays.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Like none of my kids, like my middle son BJ
he well it was twenty twenty, so there was no
prom h But my youngest son they went neither.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Neitherre my oldert my youngest.

Speaker 8 (14:41):
They don't.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
They don't have a date. Like like kids don't know.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
How to communicate anymore. In my day, I told him,
if you went to the problem with no but nobody,
you you were a nobody. You're like roast.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I mean, let taste something.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
I remember, man, you know, I see what happened was
from my from my prom I was doing too much,
uh and and I wasn't really clear about my options.
So I was like, you know, I was playing the
field during that time. Man, I messed up, and the
people that I was gonna take they ended up getting
some other dates.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
So I had to go out.

Speaker 8 (15:11):
I had to.

Speaker 7 (15:11):
It was fourth quarter coach, but I had to make
some things happen because, like you said, if you do
it was against the rules for you to have a
go go to the prom and I have a prom date.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
I was just totally against the rules.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Well come April, because I think our prom is in me.
I didn't have a date, so my daughter. I told
my daughter the story kind of. She was like, oh
my goodness. Like, so I went through three dates. So
the first one I said, yeah, I'm okay. The second
one you don't want to go? Okay, cool, and I
set it on. And so I set it on the
third date. And that's why I said, yeah, this is

(15:41):
who I'm gonna go with.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
So that doesn't sound that's good when it doesn't sound
like that at all.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
I told my daughter that church to say reaction.

Speaker 7 (15:55):
Yeah, brother, Again, its coach being each other right here
as media day, we're really excited about it.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
We have a we have a really packed house. So
we're gonna do it.

Speaker 7 (16:02):
We're gonna take a quick break when we come back.
We're gonna have our eighth grade All Stars right here.
We're gonna we're gonna start out with our coach, Coach
J from the Monstars.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Then we'll have our players.

Speaker 7 (16:12):
But again, it's gonna be a great don't you move
a muscle, don't turn the dial again, Coach b and
I myself will be back in just a quick second.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Coach, And you know I've said this before we go.
This is weird, man. You know I shared this with
the wife my prime day. She puts she's married. She
puts our prown picture on her Facebook page and tags me,
oh all right, so let.

Speaker 5 (16:29):

of time, even though some of them I don't know personally,
but I know it's a really great selection. I know
it's going to be a really really great turnout, really
good game. I want everyone to come out and support it.
Please come out and support it because it's huge for
the kids. It's not for me, it's for the kids.

Speaker 8 (19:50):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
That's good stuff, right there.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Coach b No, I'll ask you. Now you're with the
mobile Monstars, sir. First thing I thought was face Jam.
What you inspired by the name?

Speaker 8 (20:00):
Yes, I was. I wanted something.

Speaker 12 (20:02):
Initially I wanted something original, but then I wanted something
that correlates with the kids.

Speaker 8 (20:07):
So I wanted to kind of bring.

Speaker 12 (20:10):
The vibe of basketball, but also something that kids was
used to. Instead of going with anything else, I went
with Mond Stars. But I had to, you know, change
the S to the.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Z right right?

Speaker 5 (20:20):
I love Yeah, I love yes, sir, But talk to
me how excited? What was it like? I want to
ask you how much of an honor is this for you?

Speaker 4 (20:28):
The coach with the Mondstars, but now you're coaching the
best eighth grade talent in all the county of Riverside?

Speaker 5 (20:35):
How was that for you?

Speaker 8 (20:36):
Man? This is a blessing from God. This is an honor.

Speaker 12 (20:39):
I would like to give a shout out, like you said,
Coach Larry, for putting my name into the mix. I
would like to give Eddie a shout out to for
for believing in me, giving me the opportunity to do this,
to be a part of this, because this is special.

Speaker 8 (20:51):
This is going to be amazing for me. Man, to
get a chance to.

Speaker 12 (20:54):
Coach a group of all star kids, good mindsets, good grades,
and then also good on the court.

Speaker 8 (21:00):
You know what I mean? Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, that's good stuff right there.

Speaker 8 (21:02):
Man.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
So we're excited about it.

Speaker 7 (21:04):
Man, it's again, it's gonna be going down almost a
little over a week from today. It's gonna be happening
on the thirteenth over at Marina Valley.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
High School at three o'clock. That's that's when tip off comes. Now.

Speaker 7 (21:15):
One of the things about this is, I mean, the
kid the time. You have so many talented kids. How
are you going to try to get everybody on the court?
What's the plan?

Speaker 8 (21:21):
Man?

Speaker 7 (21:21):
Do you have a plan of action yet? Does that's
something you're kind of keeping on the raps? Talk to
us about it, man.

Speaker 12 (21:25):
So what I like to do is I like to
go with I called the three minute march. Okay, So
what I do is I give kids three minutes to
give me what they can show me something and if
they're not giving me what they need, then I get
my next subs in yeah, but if the flow is
going good, I like to continue with the flow and
I like to give my guys the heads up. Listen,
it ain't about us individually. It's about the team. So

(21:46):
whatever it takes for the team to win, however, I'm
gonna get all those guys on the court.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
I like that.

Speaker 7 (21:50):
That's good stuff right there. Well, I tell you what, coach,
We're excited about it. We can't wait.

Speaker 8 (21:55):
Man.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Again, we got some of these players here.

Speaker 5 (21:57):

right there. Well again, coach, we're excited to have you
here in studio. Man again, can't wait for it.

Speaker 8 (22:12):

Speaker 7 (22:12):
I know you have some some practice stuff coming up.
But again, it's gonna be great. We're looking forward to it,
but we want to make sure we get these kids in.
We're looking forward to the game. Thank you so much
for taking out the time. I just do one thing.

Speaker 12 (22:22):
Please please put everybody, everybody, please show some love for
my guys at mobile Mondstars. We mindstars basketball on ig
so please come shorts and follow shorw some love. Like
I said, it's not for me, it's for these kids, man.
Them You won't see you may see me every now
and then because parents like to throw me in the mix,
but it's mainly to showcase them for their future.

Speaker 4 (22:45):

tell everybody how you found out that you were going

Speaker 13 (23:39):
Well, I came to practice one day and my coach
was like talking to me and she was saying, like,

The IE All Star Classic will be happening next week

(32:25):
over I mean the Valley High School. But Coach, we
have one of the represented for San Bernardino, the county.
We have coach please introduce yourself to our live radio audience.

Speaker 19 (32:33):
Please morning morning, coach Josh Cazzali, head coach girls basketball ranch.

Speaker 7 (32:38):
There is right there now. Coach, you might be the
most coolest. You have the coolest voice, right, I'm telling you,
man now, And that's hard for most basketball coaches are
out there they get they're like, but how do you
how do you switch gears?

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Coach, how do you do it?

Speaker 19 (32:52):
You know, I try to stay as calm as possible.
You know, I think it's good. It's important to be
that way. That's all the girls feet off of staying
calm when things get rough. But obviously there's times you
don't you're not going to see that part of me.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
But yeah, except I am.

Speaker 19 (33:10):
There's times where you you know, you just got to
show the emotions, show the passion, and that also gives
back to the girls. So but yeah, I'm just naturally
a calm person until something gives me a reason.

Speaker 20 (33:22):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
That's good stuff.

Speaker 7 (33:24):
Now, Coach, you have a man, you have a very
very talented roster, some great, great players. A couple of
young ladies here in the studio to day talk about talk
about the amazing talent and then just the excitement.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Of getting a chance to coach the young ladies.

Speaker 8 (33:36):
Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 19 (33:38):
We were just talking out there with you know, coach, right,
just saying that in the Empire basketball is at a
high level right now. Yeah, but yeah, it's exciting to
uh to get a chance to coach girls that you're
usually playing against. Yeah, you know, like one of the
girls is just coming to my mind is Carrington Davis.
I mean she's been torturing us every time. Good to

(34:00):
have her on our side, on my side for once.
But but yeah, it's exciting and it's good for the girls,
good for the area. And I think you guys are
doing a great job putting it together to showcase all
the time.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
That's good stuffing, you know, Coach. One thing I want
to ask you, it's it's it's uh is it?

Speaker 8 (34:17):
No?

Speaker 4 (34:17):
It's April now, but Mars Madness has passed, and you know,
women's basketball is taken off.

Speaker 5 (34:22):
I haven't watched any well, my school lost.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
We lost in the first round, so that was the
last time I watched the tournament on the on.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
The boys side. But uh, women's basketball is taken off.
I just watched the final four? What Yukon did the
U c l A. I'm a USC guy, so I
love it.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
But but the way that women's sports, I mean, Caitlyn
is legit. Like I told, I told Eternal this, Uh
we're on air. I tried to tear her camee apart
last year, but she is her. You know, but what
is about women's basketball? It's just blowing up right now.
It's uh, I feel like.

Speaker 19 (34:52):
I mean when I remember growing up, I was always
into watching I felt like they had a more pure
way of playing again right, right, and more fundamentally, more
fundamental or it just seems like a better version to me,
more about team not right. And I think people are
starting to realize how how good these girls are and
how good these women are, right and finally putting in

(35:12):
you know, and paying attention. And then I mean it
helps when you have all the you know, social media. Yes, yeah,
people seeing it and then actually getting into it, like
oh wow that you know the product is good?

Speaker 5 (35:26):
Right, So but yeah, I think it's great. I don't know.

Speaker 19 (35:29):
I honestly think social media has has played a big
role and that's good for the for the young women.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
Right when whenever you have an all star game, girls
always tiktoking.

Speaker 5 (35:38):
I'm sure they did it.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Take if not, they can give them a minute, right, right, right?

Speaker 5 (35:42):
They do that.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
So and we've done these games for about eight years,
and every time we've done the game, we said, the
girls game, it's more competitive when they do that game,
they're excited. How excited are you as a coach to
be involved? I know, coaching CIF and all that's great,
But how about coaching this All Star Game?

Speaker 5 (35:57):
And what is it for you, coach?

Speaker 19 (35:59):
I mean again, it's about the girls and showcasing them,
you know, but it is exciting to work with talented
you know, young women and they're all good kids, right,
So it's exciting to be in that atmosphere and wherever
you look, they're talented, right exactly, there's no weak link.
And I think as a coach you always want to

(36:19):
be in that situation. The coach good players and go
against the best as well.

Speaker 5 (36:24):
So that's stuff.

Speaker 7 (36:25):
Well again, that's coach Josh right there from a Rancho
cuokamonga high school home of the Cougars. And again, because
we really appreciate you taking out the time, we can't

to be participating in the All Star Game. And this
young lady, she has been doing a phenomenal job making
her name for her stuff here in the ie. But
please go with the Curtis introducing yourself to our library

(37:01):
or audience.

Speaker 8 (37:02):
Plays.

Speaker 17 (37:03):
Hi, my name is Karenton Davis.

Speaker 7 (37:05):
Okay, put out my microphone net so everybody can hear
you real quick. Now you go to now you go
to rialto. Yes, your coach is always contacting us, going
did you see.

Speaker 8 (37:13):
What our girl?

Speaker 9 (37:13):
Did?

Speaker 1 (37:13):
You see what our girl did?

Speaker 8 (37:14):
So?

Speaker 1 (37:15):
How is it playing for coach Goodlow?

Speaker 7 (37:17):
And you got I think you got like two other
coaches that are really instrumental on your staff.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
But how was it playing for the Realtel Nights over there?

Speaker 17 (37:23):
It's always been a great time. I feel like these coaches,
we've all grew a bond together since my freshman year
and they've all just guided me in so much, so
many ways.

Speaker 7 (37:31):
Yeah, yeah, now you you have a you have a
piloce game. You have a great game. But talk about
the excitement for playing in the All Star Game. There's
a lot of young ladies probably probably know you probably
played against the club or what have you. I mean,
you know in travel team. But talk about the game.
How are you feeling about it?

Speaker 17 (37:45):
I'm very excited. I feel like it's going to be
very fun playing with all the other girls. I know
some of them. It's gonna be a lot of talents,
probably be a good time. So I feel like it's
gonna be It's gonna be a really good game.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
That's good stuff.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
And I think we've watched you since your freshman of
sophomore telling you I'm a long way. I always remember
them because my last name is Arrington, so I always
remember that it's the first name Carrington. So what was
it like with all your years at at rialto you
were there helping to build that program and get you
to where you are.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
Do you think mission accomplished there?

Speaker 17 (38:13):
I feel like from when I first got to school,
I feel like it started really well, but we really
brought it up and we brought more girls in, build
bombs with each other, played hard together. So I feel
like once still all started clicking together and get the
right pieces and coaches, it just all fell into place.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
And what I like is the fact you stayed there.
You stayed in reality, didn't try to go somewhere else.
Was that important to you to stay there.

Speaker 17 (38:33):
I wanted to build my own name and have somewhere
where I could like call home and build my own
type of career for it's there.

Speaker 8 (38:40):
You got what.

Speaker 7 (38:42):
You're a smart young lady. Best of luck to you.
We can't wait again. It's going to be happening. You're
playing the game tomorrow. So you all y'all out there,
but I mean we can't wait till you play on
the thirty. Team is going to be great again, young Carrington.

anything to do with the name? I mean, that was it,
That was out the hook right there.

Speaker 5 (39:16):
That just right, and that's a good academic school. Was
that important to you?

Speaker 17 (39:21):

We went to the first round. We did not win,
but it was a great experience to go somewhere far

Speaker 7 (40:14):
Where do you guys end up going. I don't like
how far like with the North Saudi thing.

Speaker 18 (40:19):

Speaker 21 (41:36):
It's my initials from like my first and middle name,
So it's Mackenzie Jean.

Speaker 7 (41:40):
Okay, ah, no, I bet what. Either your mom or
dad get mad they call you mckimziy jen like that
all the way right. That's funny. I get I had that.
I get that same thing too. Now real quick, tell
everybody about number one. How you're well. I guess we
know how you're notified. Your coach is there, who is
very excited about having any played. But talk about, you know,
how you're feeling about the All Star Game, and maybe

(42:00):
kind of give us a little snatchout about your year,
because you guys had a phenomenal year for your senior year.
So talk about your year, how it was it your
team plays?

Speaker 15 (42:06):
Yeah, we did.

Speaker 21 (42:07):
I mean I'm really proud of us, of course, like
I wish we went a little bit further. But regardless,
I'm so proud of us and how we did this year.
It was still super fun year and I'm really glad
to go out on this year especially. But yeah, I'm
really proud of us, and I'm just excited for what
the future holds.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
Fantastic.

Speaker 5 (42:22):
Now it's gonna be at your house.

Speaker 4 (42:24):

Speaker 7 (42:31):
That's good stuff. Now, what game for you was a
big game? Because you guys had a lot of big
time games. Is there a game that stood out for
you this season?

Speaker 21 (42:39):
I would probably say, I mean both games against Rancho
Christian were really good. We played really good as a team.
They were both really good.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
You know, the champion, they ended up being the champions
and you guys beat them twice.

Speaker 21 (42:48):
Yeah, Wrench Christian is a good team. I'll give it
to them, like they deserved it. They like they played
some really tough teams in CIF. Yeah, and like it
was really cool to see like, oh, like that's like
we have friends on that team, so you see them
succeed was really good.

Speaker 7 (43:02):
That's good. That's the good. I like that I like
that said. Yeah, I know man, I know man. When
we used to play. If I saw one of my
guys we played at Taco Bell, it could have been
something happened in the part of that's a whole another way.
That's a whole nother day, another life. But young lady,
keep up the good work. Can't wait to see you
out there. You got some special shoes you're wearing for
the game.

Speaker 9 (43:18):

Speaker 5 (43:19):

Speaker 8 (43:21):

Speaker 7 (43:43):
Now, the great thing about it is you and your
your teammate. You guys are all smiling and stuff. Now
but I see you guys on the court. You guys
got that. You guys got that dog mentality. You guys
are out there. You guys are playing hard. Uh. Talk
about your season? Hire everything went for you this year?
How do you feel a one for you personally?

Speaker 14 (43:58):
The season was great for me person It was a
lot of growth.

Speaker 10 (44:01):
You know.

Speaker 14 (44:02):
It taught me how to fight through all the adversity
that we faced.

Speaker 16 (44:05):
So this season was awesome.

Speaker 7 (44:06):
Yeah, that's good stuff. Now, and your coach did a
wonderful job. And then your your your your administration. A
lot of people comes to your games. How was that?
Knowing that when you play it was almost like a
full house every time you guys got a chance to play.

Speaker 5 (44:17):
How was that?

Speaker 1 (44:18):
What was that feeling like?

Speaker 5 (44:19):
It felt great? It was fun.

Speaker 14 (44:20):
And then afterwards you come in the next day for
school and then you have the teachers just fist bumping.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
You, and that's good stuff. Nice.

Speaker 5 (44:29):
So for your senior season, do you think you accomplished
all your goals or yes, I think I did. I
think I accomplished all my goals this year.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
Yeah, okay, good deal.

Speaker 5 (44:37):
What are you looking forward to an all third game?

Speaker 14 (44:39):
I'm looking forward to you know, playing with my teammates,
playing with other girls that I've played against and that
I've played with, like for aau and like open gyms,
like it's gonna be fun just seeing everybody together.

We're looking forward to a young lady. Keep up the
good work. We're gonna go ahead and bring your coach
up real quick.

And again, we can't wait to see you play on
for the All Star Game.

Speaker 5 (44:56):
Okay, awesome, thank you.

Speaker 7 (44:57):
There it is Fox Sports Radio right here, it is
media dad. We can't wait. And again we are talking
to some of the All Stars players and coaches who
will be participating in the All Star Classic. Again, coach,
go ahead and do stuff. Mean, it's almost like your
home right here, man. I mean, I think we gotta
put your name on one of these doors. But go
ahead and introduce yourself to our Lovebrady audience.

Speaker 5 (45:15):
Plays Valley High School.

Speaker 7 (45:17):
There it is in the building, in the building, So
I mean, coach, we're gonna have it at your place.
But number one, you know the talent this year, I mean,
talk about this year for you, Uh, just a really
competitive year for you and your program. You got you got,
you saw your program. Really just go up there take
it to the next level. But how was the year
for you as a coach?

Speaker 22 (45:36):
The year for me as a coach was great, As
and I had said earlier, a lot of adversity. We
pretty much brought back the same team, and one of
the things that we spoke about was even though we
have the same girls coming back, we weren't going to
have the same team because of everyone's growth. Yes, I'm
very excited and happy to see them all have grown
as individuals and as basketball players. And the coaching part

(46:00):
was fun. We came a little bit short of our goal,
and you know what, some of the that's okay because
some of the best basketball in the country right now is.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
Being played, no question, no question.

Speaker 22 (46:11):
The Open Division, Uh, the Open Division and Division.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
One, Division one, Yeah, the hardest is.

Speaker 5 (46:17):
A collective in the country.

Speaker 22 (46:18):
Yeah, and so for us to be right there in
the mix that that's awesome.

Speaker 5 (46:22):
That was fun.

Speaker 1 (46:23):
Yeah, especially coming from where you guys came from.

Speaker 7 (46:25):
I mean where y'all. I think y'all was in Division
twenty one. I think when you first got there. So
don't even ship. I mean, that's a great thing being
where you guys are.

Speaker 4 (46:30):
Our coach now, I'll tell you a little bit about
that on the journey, like you guys played some talent
like you played at Awanda, So you guys didn't run,
So what's that strategic to do?

Speaker 22 (46:39):
Then absolutely, we're not gonna run. We're not We're gonna
run to not run. From right, and shout out to
coach Stan for coming out to the house.

Speaker 5 (46:47):
It was a packed pack.

Speaker 22 (46:48):
Yes, yes, and you know what again, it's a testament
to the girls, their hard work, our administration and everyone
involved from Rina Valley Basketball.

Speaker 7 (46:56):
That's good. Like coach we said that, that's that's I commit.
We commend you on that because most people don't even
want to play at the one. They're like, nah, man,
and you let's put them on the calendar.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
I like that, right, I love it. And you know
I talked up to this earlier. You know, I'm watching
the NCAA tournament, but I'm watching the women's games because
you know, you got players there like Page Becker. She
is she is incredible, number one draft pick coming up.
And you I'm sorry about Juju because that kind of
hurt everything. But how it's like the women's game is
more exciting to meet to the men's.

Speaker 5 (47:24):
Is it because they stay longer.

Speaker 22 (47:27):
You know what, I don't you know what, women the
talent is just going through the roof, still set, the
way that they're working, the passion, and I'm grateful to
be a part during this era as this women's great
game is continuing to grow right right.

Speaker 4 (47:40):
I love it when a USC Playerua La Cheryl was
there so she had to tell Reggie we got this.
But how excited are you about coaching this All Star game?

Speaker 8 (47:47):
Coach?

Speaker 13 (47:47):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (47:47):
You know what, very excited.

Speaker 22 (47:48):
This has become one of the premier events, you know
after the season ends. Again going back that we have
so much talent coming out of the Inland Empire. For
us to be able to harvest it and have a
Riverside versus Salmon Ardino All Star Game, and in addition
for us to be able to host it, it's it's.

Speaker 7 (48:06):
An exciting opportunity. Absolutely, that's good stuff right there. Coach,
Please hang out for a little bit because we gotta run.
We gotta make sure we get our boys in. We
want to take some pictures with you guys, So please
hang out for a little quick second if you can,
can you can you hang and your hang.

Speaker 5 (48:17):
Out absolutely out.

Speaker 22 (48:18):

all Star game. It's going to be a packed house
as always, and it's going to be a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
The girls are excited.

Speaker 5 (48:26):
That's mobil.

Speaker 7 (48:27):
That's good stuff right there again, Man, we appreciate that.
Man again, it's media day, real quick, coach, We're just
gonna take a quick, little quick break. We're going to
bring our folks in so uh, matter of fact, we're
going we want to keep it moving or how do
you want.

Speaker 5 (48:36):
To do it? We can do that.

Speaker 7 (48:37):
Let's play and keep a moving, man. We're gonna keep
it moving real quick. Okay, fantastic here we are right there.

Speaker 8 (48:45):

Speaker 7 (48:45):

really excited about it. Now that now, coach, do us
the courtesy of introducing yourself to our live radio audience,
please Eric from high school. There it goes right there, Coach.
We appreciate it. Mant me tell you something, Coach B
knows anytime we talk about Ramona, you know, uh, I

(49:07):
just have a sweet spot for Ramona.

Speaker 14 (49:08):
Man.

Speaker 7 (49:08):
I mean my father went there, you know, you know,
my uncles went there, and it's a great thing. There's
a lot of pride there I'm sure you saw that.
But talk about you phenomenal season, how it was for
you personally as a coach. Put with those that phones
out there we go, Yeah, I mean this is obviously
my first year there. Yes, And because where'd you come from? Again,
because you could what schoold you come.

Speaker 23 (49:29):
I was at Fontana High School last and chaffy, but
I was on the girls side. Okay, Okay, I was
turning back into the boys. I did that before at
Elmanni High School. Okay, but yeah, I mean I knew
coach Fletcher from the girls team. Yes, and I moved
to Riverside, so I was looking for a place closer.
He let me know the position was opening. So I
mean everything went great. Wow, tibbles or a d was awesome. Yeah,

(49:52):
and supportive and you know, I really enjoyed my time there.

Speaker 1 (49:56):
Now we love Fletcher. Fletcher's our guy right there.

Speaker 7 (49:58):
Great, you know it always has a sweater, the sweater
vest on, you know what I mean? And again, so yeah,
you just did a phenomenal job. Now did you know
a lot of these kids when you first got there
or do you just kind of met them up for
the first time?

Speaker 5 (50:09):
Nobody?

Speaker 23 (50:10):
Wow, pleasure was the only one I've known from back
in the day.

Speaker 5 (50:13):
Wow.

Speaker 23 (50:14):
But yeah, all the kids were brand.

Speaker 9 (50:16):
New to me.

Fantastic. That's a phenomenal job and he did a wonderful
job there, Coach.

Speaker 4 (50:19):
B Absolutely, So I'll ask you, how do you feel
about coaching Riverside County in this All Star Classic.

Speaker 8 (50:26):

Speaker 23 (50:27):
A lot of these kids, you know, I've seen their names.
This is the first time I get to meet them
and you know, see them live like Kay didn't actually
saw in one of the tournaments when they were playing
at the same.

Speaker 8 (50:36):
Side as us.

Speaker 23 (50:36):
So I've seen, you know, some of these kids from
from Afar, but it will be nice to get a
first hand view of them up close.

Speaker 7 (50:42):
Absolutely great stuff right there again, Coach, We're really excited
to have you play again, man, especially coming you know

a great season, but talk about how it was for
you personally.

Speaker 10 (51:55):
For me personally, it was a great season. You know,
we went twenty seven and eight. It's a big turnaround
from last year eight and twenty.

Speaker 5 (52:03):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (52:04):
Yeah, Now, now how did you feel about that?

Speaker 10 (52:06):
Man?

Speaker 1 (52:06):
I was asking your coach, because didn't you didn't know
him from Adam.

Speaker 8 (52:08):
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (52:10):
What do you think was it?

Speaker 8 (52:10):
Man?

Speaker 7 (52:11):
Because again, like you said, you guys didn't have any
kind of success like that lot the year before, and
all of a sudden, now you guys come and you
guys take it all the way there?

Speaker 1 (52:17):
Man, So what do you think happened?

Speaker 10 (52:18):
I think it was just a new coach and coach
and stuff and what he had is doing to get
us to where we went and stuff in the season.
I think the great place he drew up, you know,
the great coach and he did at practice is what
really helped us in the long run.

Speaker 7 (52:33):
That's good stuff right there, man. Coach By Yeah, I

you know, yeah, you know, comfortable with each other and
you know, to coach my three boys like you know,
they were the ones that kind of led the charge
this year.

But another back end thing is l J. Hall from
a Craney.

that's kind of cool to a couple of other kids
are coming around.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
That's good, man. And that's what it's all about.

Speaker 9 (57:54):
Man.

Speaker 7 (57:55):
Again, it's all about kind of getting with the back
of these kids making a big, big time impression before
they get for the game.

Speaker 1 (58:00):
This's all before he gets all done.

Speaker 20 (58:01):

having a hard time with that man. Yeah, yeah, so
you know, so that's what we're gonna do. She was like,
I'll ride with you to the station and we can
leave right out.

Speaker 1 (59:00):

Okay, yeah, but again we got the brand new coach
beat is brought in the All Star jerseys.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
We are so excited about this game.

Speaker 7 (59:09):
One of the one of the primary games that give
out each year. We never take the uniforms back from
the kids each year.

Speaker 16 (59:16):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (59:16):
Through our sponsorship, through our supporters, we come out with
custom made uniforms every year. So these kids are going
to get a chance to play in custom made uniforms
that are gonna be there to keep. And to put
a little caveo on top of it, the MVP gets
a cast scholarship. I know you're excited about that, Coach
be it is a great thing we've been doing for
a long time.

Speaker 4 (59:37):
Let me go, yes, absolute, let's put respect on it.
We do cast well, we do the I'm all messed
up here, we go. Let do we do the custom jerseys?
That's the word I was looking for. Yes, we do
the custom jerseys that the kids keep in football, basketball,
and volleyball, all because of the gracious support of the

(59:58):
Riverside Shares, a Social And then this year we added
the custom polo shirts. We've already sent one off to
President young so President young will get his. So when
I got him, that's the first I said, let me
pull this to the side for President young Man. He
got his first and you stop, yeah, And then I mean,
would that be great. If he wears that, I think
that would just be great. That would be great. It's

(01:00:20):
got the website on the back and one of the
great things we like to I don't know if recruiting
will be there this year, but one thing we love
is working on them getting involved.

Speaker 5 (01:00:27):
And you know, you gotta do. We gotta do like
we did in football.

Speaker 4 (01:00:29):
Give President Young call you know, hey, you called, I
know right right about that, all of a sudden things
start happening.

Speaker 5 (01:00:39):
Yes, yes, yes, Young, But again we.
