The week is good, man, It's always a good thing.
The wife and I gonna go have dinner later on today,
just hang out and spend some time with her.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
My daughter turned twenty five. What about yourself, mam man?
Everything's good, you know. I just got word.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I want to make sure I put this out here.
Uh we just got word with number one. I was
giving the hand claps for the for the young, for
the daughter right there. I want to make sure we
we uh we big that up. I know that's a
big deal in the Arrington household. So that's a big thing, man.
But no, we have just a great uh a lot
of stuff. I got word that the Jade and Daniels,

(01:30):
the Jada, you know dj and Daniels. You know the
guy who we're trying to still figure out if he
knows our phone number or not.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I think he's forgotten it. We used to go through
his mother. She doesn't respond anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Well, you know, well we have look we're gonna we're
gonna go out there.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Well, they're having he's having a his first uh camp
type situation going on over there in h at Coahona
High School. So we're really excited to have him call
in and now call in excuse me, but we're having
happy to have him back here. So so that I
leave the show today, I will be venturing over there
to Cohone High School and see if we can't connect

(02:07):
the dots and see if maybe he remembers our phone
number after we have a little conversation with him.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
You know, I doubt it, but it's worth a shot.
It's worth a shot. Yeah, once he signed that check,
I think it was.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Yeah, we're good.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Just show him the pictures when he was in the
eleventh grade. But you know, if he remembers the area,
just tell him I was a guy that saw him
at Downey High School and he looked at me and
shook his head because I was out there wearing Downy
stuff and not CA hoone stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
So yeah, yeah, yeah, So that's that's that. That's funny
stuff right there. To get his Fox Sports Radio right
here live. But coach be and eternal Now Coach b
As I mentioned it. I talked to you a little
bit earlier in the week. We have an exciting thing
who we're partnering up with the good folks over at
pick Up USA, San Bernardino, and they actually are here
in studio today. Really excited to work with them. It

(02:53):
is the Beyond the Game Basketball camp, and we were
talking to Coach Smith and in our conversation with Coach Smith,
we were able to connect the dots with a gentleman,
I mean This gentleman is highly decorated in the basketball space,
but we're happy to have him on air today. So
we're gonna have this gentleman, please do us the courtesy

(03:16):
of introducing yourself to our live radio audience. Please.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Well, first of all, gentlemen, thanks for allowing me the
time to talk to you. My name is coach John
Santignon and I'm calling you from beautiful Italy this this
fine morning.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
That's good stuff right there now, now, coach coach John.
Now you're gonna have to allow me to call you
coach John because I don't want to mess up your
last name. That's a lot of you know, that's a
lot of flavor in that that last name there. But again,
thank you so much. I know you and I we've
gotten a chance to speak a little bit off air.
You're currently in Italy right now. I told you I'm

(03:54):
I'm you know that is that's one of my bucket lists.
I got to get to Italy sooner than later. But
talk to the good people about what you got going
on in Italy right now.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
So I'm here in Italy.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
I've been a guest here for I think close to
twenty years now.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Uh, there's a fantastic basketball camp.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
Here called w b SC and it stands like for
for World Basketball a Sports.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Camp, and it is.

Speaker 6 (04:21):
It's a fantastic people here are wonderful and you know,
it's a they teach the game of basketball the right
way and and uh and allow the players to come
from all over the world as well as coaches.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
So I've met them.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
From all over. So I was honored as a as
a young young coach when I was still a high
school coach of going into the the formerly what you know,
the Pac ten Conference. And Uh, I've continued to come
out here all that time, man, because the relationships that
are formed and the you know, it's a transformational type

(04:55):
camp and that's something I always want to be a
part of.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
The Again, we have coach John on again now. Coach,
we're happy to have you on right here live on
Fox Sports Radio. We've been talking about, uh, this basketball camp,
and again we're just happy that you are willing to
take the time and to share this wealth of information. Uh.
But I mean, you you have some great accolades, but
just talk about where you I mean, because a lot

(05:21):
of you know you're in Italy right now. A lot
of what you say in the NBA, you see a
lot of international basketball. But what are some of the
great things right now that you see that the youth
can pick up on in terms of your experience.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Well, you know, it's more so it's a desire that
they have to have, you know, Unfortunately, the Internet has
dominated the space of trying to teach a player and
or a coach.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
And I think, you.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
Know, the it's it's not it's not what you have,
what you know, it's what you can teach.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
Has always been taught to me. I mean, that's that's
one thing.

Speaker 6 (05:59):
Coach John will And always told me that no matter
what you know, there's information everywhere, But how do you
transfer that knowledge to your athletes that are under your supervision.
So that's one thing that I've come to appreciate. You know,
that there's a sharing of knowledge within within the basketball
space from uh and and then to a willing participant,

(06:21):
somebody who really wants to learn it. Again, Man, if
you can take it and give it to an athlete
and they can digest it in chunks and then put
it together as a whole, they're they're they're totally a
better athlete because of it. Uh and then hopefully you know,
they remember it and they and they keep doing it
because that's that's what it takes. It takes constant repetition.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Absolutely, And coach, we want to ask you when you
think about this beautiful game of basketball, and you've talked
about it as a as a coach, but when you
you were you very successful and accomplish yourself as a
player at use a University of California Sanate Cruise all
time scoring.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Record, when you first started.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Lasling up as a young man, did you think that
the basketball would take you on this journey? I mean,
you've made multiple stops all over the world when you
were in your your driveway because I know we're the
age we used to play in the driveway, not to
not not all over these aau things. But you've been
to Japan, you've been to Mexico, you've been all over
all over the globe. Talk to us a little bit

(07:25):
about that and what basketball's meant to you.

Speaker 6 (07:28):
Oh man, the yeah, you know, I'm humble because I
grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and you're absolutely right. It
was outdoors, it was playgrounds, and it was my own,
my own uh my own basket in the backyard. And
do you know what I learned along my journey is
that someone had to take an interest in me, right

(07:50):
and and then if that wasn't a coach, then it
was an older player, an older person within the neighborhood.
And I was fortunate that I had all that and
he learned how to play a certain way.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
But basketball camps were the best.

Speaker 6 (08:07):
Thing, you know. And so as a junior in high school,
I get this invitation to a ten five star basketball camp.
It's world famous. It's you know, every every you name,
every type of player that's ever played. They wanted to
be there.

Speaker 7 (08:22):
And it opened my eyes because it was six days
a week, you know, started at six thirty in the morning.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Until you know, eleven or twelve at.

Speaker 6 (08:32):
Night, and wow, and coaches from all over the place.
And at the time of my my basketball camp, you know,
it's it's it's Dwayne Williams. You know who ends up
going to you know, Georgetown and winning a national championship.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
It's it's Muggsy Bogue.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
It's Dwayne the Pearl Washington. Those are the guys I'm
in camp with. Wow, And I've never seen from a
kid from Tucson, Arizona. I never saw a kid from
New York Chicago. I had no idea that they could
play like they did, you know, And I was, I
was in awe. And but but Howard Gorfinkel was the master,

(09:11):
and he must have had I don't know, three four
hundred of us there at a time, and and you know,
he he knew every single person. And that was I
never forgot that that he knew who I was from Tucson, Arizona.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
And I was.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
A nobody at that time. And but I came back
with a fascinated, uh appreciation of the game more so,
and I really wanted to get better and better. And
so the best thing about basketball is you don't need
anyone you you have a goal, you can you can try,
you don't even need a basket. You know, you could

(09:47):
do so many things. But it is that desire to
separate yourself. So I constantly had coaches that came around
me that made me better.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Right now, I coach when you think of that perspective.
First of all, I want to say with Muggy Bowlds,
he gave me false hope.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
I'm short as well, and I thought I could play too.
Man and I realized that.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Muggy Bowls was he was a freak athlete. Now it
just it was it wasn't given for me. But coach,
when you look at that you talked about John Wooden.
I am a big time USC guy, but I understand
the influence, uh that John Wooden had. I will never
say a bad word about that man. But when you
look at all the coaches that have shaped your life and
now with you coaching, do you try to take a
little bit from everyone when you because you have kids,

(10:29):
Like you said, when you were a young man, you
think about that. Like when I was in high school,
my English teacher was the first person that ever showed
me that I.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Could be a journalist.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
So are are those things that you take along your
journey to to influence the next generation?

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Yeah? Absolutely.

Speaker 6 (10:45):
You know as a college kid, now now I approach college,
but someone had out taken an interest in me and
elevated me. He was a college player himself, so he
allowed me to do workouts with him when I.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Was a high school kid.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
It prepared me for college. And then in college, the
opportunity for summer was to you know, hopefully you could
be at a camp counselor and sharpen up your game
and work somewhere. So I had the chance to be
with Coach Wooden's camp. Wow, and you know, and and
that's my first time seeing him. And when he walks,

(11:21):
you know, it's literally like watching God walk and and
you know, I was shocked. I stunned. And and one.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Day he just tells me, boy, I wish I wish.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
You knew how to shoot, you know, And I was
petrified and he he it's his humor. It's he was
joking with me, and it was it was the first
dialogue that we had with one another. And so one
day a shooting instructor came to do camp demonstrations. The
name was Coach Luther wits It and he was famous

(11:57):
in the Los Angeles area.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
He had two sons. They both played basketball at Stanford.

Speaker 6 (12:02):
And he one of the sons was was injured and
he asked, coach, wouldn't someone that could go in? And
it was me?

Speaker 4 (12:11):
And so we do this demonstration of shooting.

Speaker 6 (12:14):
I have no idea what the routine is, but I'm coachable.
I'm gonna learn, I'm gonna listen, I'm gonna do everything,
and I wanna I want to try to do everything
I can, and uh I did. And boy, coach Wits
had said, you know, uh, not too many people get
a chance to come on and join us, or they
usually aren't. You know that that skilled at what they do?

(12:38):
You would you like to work out with us every
single morning in Los Angeles at five point thirty. And
uh oh, boy, I jumped on that because I could
see that.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
I was that there's there's.

Speaker 6 (12:49):
Growth, and then there's exponential growth. And that's what I
saw that first time. I mean, I was a twenty
point scorer in college my freshman year. Then I went
to twenty five points.

Speaker 7 (13:00):
And then and then I went to the thirty one
all because of that routine every single morning that separated
myself from anyone else that I ever played against.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
That's good stuff right there.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
And again my coach told me serious, he was like, not.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Really what you can shoot? That's good stuff right there.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
Again going back to but going back to Muggsy Bogues,
let me tell you, man, that little five three guy
puts fear in you.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Man.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
I bet man, no, I bet we I mean again,
like I Coach b said that that was a guy.
I think all of us all of us short guys,
thought we had hope because the mugky bugs he just
you know, he wasn't able to you know, we we
just couldn't do it, man, for whatever reason. So it
is what it is again Fox Sports Radio right here
live with coach being eternal. Coach John, thank you so much.
We really appreciate if number one, you taking the time
to call in obviously all the way from Italy. Uh,

(13:51):
and we really appreciate that. But again we're really excited
to have you on board with the camp and we'll
talk to you soon.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
Okay, okay, Well, pleasure gentlemen, and if any anyone ever
needs anything, you please reach out there.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
It is right there. Thank you so much, Coach John.
We appreciate it, and you enjoyed the rest of your
Saturday out there.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Likewise, right now there, it is right there.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
That's good stuff, man, Coach John, coach b all the
way from Italy, Man, I don't know have you gotten
there yet? Man? I have not.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
The closest I've gotten to Italy is the Olive Garden,
but no I have not. Are I guess in Vegas
when they have the Venetia.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
But that is it. That is it.

Speaker 6 (14:25):
For me.

Speaker 1 (14:25):

you turner right here live in a great city of
Riverside at the iHeart Radio Studios, recording live every Saturday morning.
We are here with a very very special guest. Young lady,
please do us the courtesy of introducing yourself to our
live radio audience.

Speaker 11 (17:28):
Hello, I am Chloe Wells. I e legend superstar, Duka Lum,
ten year pro basketball coaching trainer, most importantly child of God.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
There it is good stuff right there. Appreciate you coming in, uh,
coming off of a wonderful season.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
You know people didn't get a chance to see the
graphic you're holding up the trophy one year in and
this really this some wonderful stuff with the program. Talk
about how this year was for you. You just coming in.
I mean, obviously you were training doing you know, doing
some very very you know, notable work. But then you
come in you said, hey, let me let me see
what I can do at Hillcrest.

Speaker 11 (18:03):
First year we won CIF and then we lost the
game right before the championship for state. And it was
amazing because I got the girls when they were seven
and twenty and then we turned it around and went
twenty seven and seven. And it was hard work. It
was a lot of bear crawling, it was a lot
of accountability. But we just pursued excellence in every step

(18:24):
of the way and it translated to the court and
the chemistry was there and we just took off.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Now a wonderful thing about that. You just those the
young ladies on the team. You can see their morale changed.
You know, social media was going up. I mean, you
know you were talking about these games, but talk about
your players. You know what they mean to you and
kind of how they you know, how they changed, you
know where you are and so forth.

Speaker 11 (18:46):
Yes, they are the highlight of my life. I almost
start crying. But basically they are just tough. They are
just gritty. We got shooters Ray Valdez and Maya we
got slashers though. She had a forty point game, which
is phenomenal.

Speaker 12 (19:01):
I never had it. Forty points.

Speaker 11 (19:02):
Wow, Nihila, she's our spark plug and we have some
We call her our anchor, and that's Kadence. Those are
my five seniors at every turning. We got some young
ones up and coming. But if anybody's looking for a
home and they're looking, if you don't have a home,
I'm not recruiting.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
You don't have home. I thought you were doing a
sugar night real quick. Right, that was not right there?
And you know, I'll ask you the question, what was
the record when you first came there?

Speaker 11 (19:27):
Again, they were seven and twenty.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
So what was it like when it's kind of like,
was it like the Bad News Bears When you sit.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
There and you watch them and then you you instilled
in them.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
How does that make you feel as a coach to
see them to go for that to you know, championship runs.

Speaker 11 (19:40):
Yes, that's amazing. Yes, they were the Bad News Bears.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Yes, it was crazy. I'm old enough to remember them.
One of my movies.

Speaker 11 (19:46):
Right there, it was like the Bad News Bears mixed
with Coach Carter.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
I never saw that Coach Carter, I have not.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
Right.

Speaker 11 (19:54):
But yeah, so when I first got them, their shoulders
were down. They're like, we're just not good enough, and
I'm like, no, no, no, there's some special here and
I'm going to show you. Soon enough, they started to
believe me and they started to see it, and then
that's when we took off. But I had to make
some changes, and once we did that, we just took off.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
She said, show enough.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
So you know, I gotta ask you, so you know,
I full disclosure. I do like Carolina Blue because of Jordan,
but you what to do.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Like we said in the last interview, I'm a USC guy.
I love USC. But I have to give props to
John Wooden because we talked about Coach Wooden and I
can't deny how great Duke is when you look at
that gym and whatnot. Cooper Flag, I know we're talking
about you and your accomplishments.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Is he is he the guy?

Speaker 9 (20:35):
Of course he's the guy?

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Okay, so Brownie didn't lock him down.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
That we can see that that Blue Devils.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
I love it now, please, no, no, no, no, I
was going to ask you just I know, I got sidetracked,
but but what are your goals? What do you think
you guys can do next year? We go in state,
we go in to Sacramento. We we you know, what
are we doing?

Speaker 11 (20:57):
I would love to do that. They actually have us
moving up for division?

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Oh is that the down side of doing well? Do
you do good? They go, oh, yeah, so we look
we got something open division. I mean we're going we're going.

Speaker 11 (21:07):
From five A to three A.

Speaker 9 (21:09):
Okay, like three A four.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
You know what did you say? We have to do
a show about that. I don't know. We have to
double a triple, a quadruple. We have to get mister
simmons on. He's all, he's all about that right there.
But no, so no, but she said she's moving up.
She's moving up.

Speaker 11 (21:23):
But don't mistake it. We're gonna be back in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Okay, you heard it. Here she want.

Speaker 11 (21:30):
In the game, the championship game again.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
I love it. That's good stuff right there. We're right
here live Fox Sports Radio coach B and E. Turno.
We're here with the well accomplishments coach. Yeah, it's just
like what now now a great story, you know, because
again we found this out. You're a great friend of
rooms you know coach Romanelli. Uh, you come from Aby
Miller and then you fast tracked to do Uh now
do you talk to your girls about that? Like about

(21:53):
how like again? You know because Aby Miller, you know,
you guys had a squad then, but you know, nobody
was just nobody will check out for eighty million like that,
and all of a sudden you go to do I mean,
is that something you share with your your players all
the time.

Speaker 11 (22:06):
Anything is possible, hard work and you really determined. And
nowadays they have social media.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
We didn't have that.

Speaker 11 (22:11):
So we had to fly to North Carolina and play
in front of those scouts and all over and play
against everybody great because they felt like it's eighty million,
you can't be that great.

Speaker 9 (22:19):
No, I'm going to show you.

Speaker 11 (22:20):
So I went and I played the big dogs. Yeah,
they took them down, and they said, oh, that one
right there, she's for real. You got to give her
a shot. So yes, I talked to them about that
all the time and about academic excellent.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
And we have to talk about this. I got a
chance to look at the Aby Miller the uniforms. Can
we talk about those those uniforms? Boy, they looked like
two of you could have fit in there looking like
the fat fire. Now now again we have you in

(22:53):
because again we're really excited you're going to be one
of the lead instructors over here for this basketball camp.
I got a chance to to watch you do your
social media thing, and you just do really really great.
I mean up from the smaller kid to the bigger kids.
Obviously you've shown what you can do in a high
school level, but just talk about, you know, your philosophy,
how you approach training kids.

Speaker 11 (23:13):
My main thing is I'm master and teaching the fundamentals.
Without that, you have no foundation, and with that, every
coach needs you on the floor. And also about your attitude,
just going as hard as you can and being your
best version of yourself. And that's what I get out
of all of my kids, and I make sure that
their parents know, Hey, you got to be in line too,
because coaches are watching you.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Guys also right right.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Now, just look out for the kids who can't play,
you know, because they're out there, you know, and if
they can't play, one day might be ready.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
So that's that's all I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
Like I say the movie soul Man, I want to
sue them because that's my life story.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
You know, if you ever watched it and he got
picked first and he couldn't play, that was yes, that
was me.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
But I'll tell you we talked about this with our
previous interview.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
The game of basketball.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
When you're playing at Aby Miller and you're in fund,
did you think that game would take because you plays everywhere.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
I mean, that's that's an international brand and she's an
international player.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Exactly did you ever think that when you were lacing
him up that basketball?

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Oh you did?

Speaker 11 (24:10):
Oh I knew it.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Oh yeah, so I did too, but it didn't happen.

Speaker 11 (24:15):
I wanted to be alleged. Wow, I'm now in the rialto.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
And Hall of Fame watch out. So one wasn't enough. No,
it's not enough like Kendrick.

Speaker 11 (24:26):
But yeah, I know, I knew. I was just devoted
to basketball. I was waking up at five in the
morning that I was eight years old.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
That's why. Yeah, he put the work.

Speaker 11 (24:35):
After that work, some older sisters they went and they
played in college also, and that's why I.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Was able to go to So you you got good geens.
So se see what you want to see the thing
about it? See when you see something though, when you
see somebody accomplishing that, that really kind of you know,
it tunes you in. You know exact all I had
recruiting me was the Army, and you know.

Speaker 11 (24:52):
So I didn't have him come on, but my daddy
had a program called Beyond the Rim and he got
one hundred and fifty year ols Division one stuff and
I'm the baby of that.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
So I knew I was going there. That's good stuff.
That's good. Here we go, there we go. Love it.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Bring your kids out there. It's gonna be great stuff.
Thank you so much. We appreciate it. We're gonna take
a quick break when we come back again. We had
a studio full of folks. We have the good folks
from pick Up USA over there, and then we have
Miss Page. Miss Page is no joke in the rodeo scene.
I met her at the after Charlie at the Charlie
SAMs the rodeo. She just broke down the whole thing
and in the I E had me thinking, I don't

(27:52):
even live here. I was like, do I even live here?

Speaker 11 (27:53):
I'm like, okay, check her built out too.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
Oh the belt is vicious, and the boots and the boots.
He's not playing. She's serious business about it. But again,
thank you so much. I appreciate him as well. If

Speaker 1 (30:08):
I am your host, Coach B and I am your

at the iHeart Radio Studios here in the Great City
of Riverside. And again, you guys can take us with
you using the iHeart Radio app We do have a
very very special guest right here live in the studio.
Me and this gentleman. We've been talking for the last week. Man,

(30:29):
please do us the courtesy of introducing yourself to our
live radio audience. Please.

Speaker 12 (30:32):
What's going on, sir? My name is Oscar.

Speaker 10 (30:34):
I'm coming down from pick up USA Fitness here in
San Bernardino.

Speaker 12 (30:38):
Just really excited to get some.

Speaker 10 (30:40):
Things going here. Loving the ie showing our pride.

Speaker 12 (30:44):
Thank you so much for having me on there.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
It is good stuff right there, man, I really appreciate
this facility. I got a chance to meet you guys
through coach k She's a young lady, she Kaitlin. She
know she's over there training the kids right now, and
she actually hosted me. She was one of our coaches
for the All Star Game, represented sam Bardino County. And
when I went there, just a great facility. Man. You

(31:06):
got the basketball courts, you guys got the workout stuff.
I wasn't there a couple of days. Man, tried to
work out, get a little sweat going, and I realized,
I said, maybe I need to go work out in
private real quick. You know that way the kids go.
He's weak, No, but this is a great facility, but
kind of talk about some background because I know, you
know you guys have been there, how long you guys
have been there, and kind of the background about what's

(31:27):
going on over I pick up USA right.

Speaker 12 (31:29):
Now, gotcha.

Speaker 10 (31:29):
So we've been there for close to two years now.
Thankfully we've been tapping into the i E.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Too.

Speaker 10 (31:34):
From the moment that we started opening up. It's been
an amazing experience. Nothing like it. You know, uh, LA
got their thing, but we got we got some stuff
over here in the I E. For sure, Sambordino we represent.
We definitely offer a lot of opportunities people in the
back through the basketball community. Uh and then we have
some people that in the in the volleyball space, in
the sports space, but also in different spaces that want

(31:57):
to do film.

Speaker 12 (31:57):
We actually offered an.

Speaker 10 (31:58):
Opportunity for some students who come in and film a
project and they did a whole commercial and everything. So
what we have found out is foundationally, yeah, we're basketball,
but what we're trying to be a lot bit bigger,
probably an asset to the IE to Sambordino.

Speaker 12 (32:12):
So and we love it.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
So tell us your location where you guys are located. At.

Speaker 10 (32:17):
So we're located three ninety four East Commercial Road in Sabordino, California.

Speaker 12 (32:21):
As if you're going to Lumberland.

Speaker 10 (32:22):
The hospital right next door nicer side of Sambordino which
is is right there. But yeah, we're right in the
in the peak of where Sambordino starts.

Speaker 12 (32:31):
So yes, right there, I.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Know exactly where that is.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
So tell me a little bit about this, tell us
about what you guys do, what you offer, and everything
about your facility.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
What makes you special?

Speaker 12 (32:40):
So what makes a special man?

Speaker 14 (32:41):
Is you?

Speaker 10 (32:44):
If you walk into the walk in most people are
gonna say, and that's not the basketball.

Speaker 12 (32:48):
It's not.

Speaker 10 (32:48):
It's not the the price is not it's actually the crew.
All of us that are in there are super, super gracious.
We we fill in the room with a lot of energy.
Thankfully we have been able to get more people and
add into our family.

Speaker 12 (33:02):
We offer services for the youth.

Speaker 10 (33:04):
We have our own Youth Development League which is beautiful,
which allows people that maybe are not the greatest at basketball,
where we focus on development little by little. We have
long seasons and with short breaks and we keep on going.

Speaker 12 (33:16):
This is the work.

Speaker 10 (33:17):
You know, some kids want to get out of the
get out of the mud, and you know, we have
to give them an opportunity. There's not a lot of
people coming out of the ie and only because they
don't have the opportunity. And for the adults, I mean,
we've got some hoopers in the IU, man, so you've
got to show them some love and some capacity.

Speaker 12 (33:30):
So we got to be that for them now.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Now, one of the things I really enjoy that you
guys have over there outside of the great you know
the gym facility really really nice, is to clean I can.
You know, I got to make sure I say that
against clean well kept. I like that. That's one thing
to really cause my eye. But talk about that that
basketball league with the men come in there. I mean
they got the they got the they got the shirts
and everything. I mean, they got the referees. Talk about
that experience. I think that's a real big time highlight.

(33:54):
A lot of people don't get a chance to experience
one hundred percent.

Speaker 10 (33:58):
So one thing that's been lacking in the basketball space
for the longest time is adult officiated pickup games. And
so what we do is we host every night Monday
through Thursdays, apt Fridays and Sundays and on Monday.

Speaker 12 (34:09):
On Saturdays, we host them for three hours a day.

Speaker 10 (34:11):
Where we have is to officiate officials coming down and
they run pickup games for ten minutes.

Speaker 12 (34:16):
And so it's not it's not a full on league.

Speaker 10 (34:18):
It's it's just an opportunity for guys to come in register.
We have a CACQ system that will track their points,
certain points, their wins, and just be able to again
give them that sense of pridey be like, Yo, I'm
on a six game win streak and I got to
keep my reps up.

Speaker 12 (34:31):
I don't want to sign up right now.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
You know.

Speaker 10 (34:32):
It's so that competitiveness is there and guys take a
lot of pride, which is awesome. But we offer that
to them, which is really good.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
So no more missing shots in the callege five Yeah, yeah,
now you can't lie, you're right, right, right? I mean
it coached me. You know, that's an experience because you know,
I mean, I've been there, you know, and I don't
want to put no names out there, but I've been there. Well,
I mean, brawls breakout behind the foul, a simple foul.
He man, what you say? What you say next? You
know it's going down and there I'm sure you guys
have seen that, but again, talk about that environment, because

(35:01):
you guys have a wonderful environment there. There's really family friendly.
Maybe we could to kind of show with the audience
a little bit about that as well.

Speaker 12 (35:07):
Absolutely so.

Speaker 10 (35:08):
One thing that we got in our gym, and the
first thing we tell people when they first signed up
with us, is that we have a zero tolerance policy.
And for one, because of our location, because of the
environment that could be coming in. We are super vigilant,
right and we got kids, we got grandmothers, we got
family members coming out from outside, and nobody wants to
be worried about coming to watch their kid watch a
game and then some guy is playing one on one

(35:29):
but the dude and gets mad, you know what I mean.
So for us, we're super super aware. We're always vigilant.
So when we talk to people, we're just like, hey, look,
we want this to be at home for everybody, but
not everybody's going to find a home here. So if
you really want to stay here, please show us that
you care.

Speaker 12 (35:45):
It's not just about money for us.

Speaker 10 (35:47):
Yeah, I don't care about your money and give you
back your money, right right. We want to be here
for more than ten years down the line. We want
to be foundational, so please respect our space. And so
that's just kind of the theme we do.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
It's funny.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
There's a park I grew up by. They renamed it Demandare.
It's in Compton. It's called Lootis Park and they named
they didn't have that when we played, So I stayed
out of that gym.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
No, sir. I was like, no, I'm good, I'm good. No, No,
we're not playing with no coach Batty Turner right here
live on Fox Sports Radio. We are here with the
man himself, mister Oscar over at pick Up USA, Sam Bernardino.
Now we're going to be doing this Camp Oscow again.
We've been talking about this beyond the game. The basketball
camp is going to be taking place August first through
August third. Talk about that, we've been talking off about it,

(36:30):
but talk about our important the importance of having events
like this for the for the community of the Inland
Empire riverside in San Maoradina.

Speaker 10 (36:37):
Well, exposure is always welcome, obviously, so we want to
tap into the I E and the most we can. Right,
Like I said, I think we have a lot of
foundationally really good Uh, people that are looking for opportunities
to get better and they just don't know where we are.
They don't they don't know that the opportunities are here.
So anytime we can host something where at a capacity
where kids can go in and feel like, man, I

(36:58):
got some work and I want to come back to
pick up, that just fills our hearts.

Speaker 12 (37:02):
Man, it keeps us more motivation going.

Speaker 10 (37:04):
So this event is going to allow us to tap
into the market, to tap into those kids that have
been wanting to do something and now.

Speaker 12 (37:10):
They got the opportunity to do it. So it's just amazing,
excellent stuff right there.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Again, Man, we're we're we're very appreciative to partner up
with you in this capacity. Again, Please please please reach
out to us again. We're gonna be putting out more
information and a lot of more stuff is gonna have
be going down, so we're really excited about it. Again.
You can find us at I E. Sports Net. That's
I E Sports and excuse me and plural I E
sports Net and then you can also go to pick

(37:36):
up uh pick up us a slash Underscore Underscore. I
think I think I messed that up. Underscore. You want
to give it to us.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
Put in my plug man, get your plug man, pick
up U S A P I C K U P
Underscore Sambordino.

Speaker 10 (37:56):
We got, you know, all of our content here. We
got a bunch of our people that are on the
So please come and support shows, give us a follow,
send us a comment. If you see something that you
want us to have there, please let us know.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
It is right. Yeah, he was physically fit, so they like, man,
we can ball right now. I am allergic to be
And then and then uh, and then you guys have
the training up there till you got to do basketball.
I mean, if somebody, somebody says, hey, I want my
kid to kind of get a little bit better at basketball,
you know, because obviously we want you to come to
the camp, but you guys also have some some options
where kids can get trained up up there as well.

(38:27):
Please talk about that in my mind, yes, sir.

Speaker 12 (38:29):
So we have experienced coaches.

Speaker 10 (38:31):
And the good part about it is again you have
to fit too criteria, and that is that you have
to be experienced, but also you have to be some
level of vigilant and not as a good person. I
think that's one of our our really really good against
foundational things that we want to keep forward. Nobody likes
the coach that yells at them all the time, and
it's just that doesn't want to work with them. And
one thing that we have with our coaches is that

(38:53):
we're super lenient in trying to work within their development.
So and like I said, there's not a lot of
options out there, so we have since at the gym.

Speaker 12 (39:00):
It's just it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Yes, it is offering that.

Speaker 12 (39:03):
So so those coaches that we have and they're super amazing.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Again, great stuff right there. We're really excited again, thank
you so much. We appreciate it. Uh, real quick, make
sure give it the folks. I don't know if you
guys have a phone phone and I'm sure I don't
know if you have to give him the phone number
real quick. And maybe the website as well, please, yes, sir.

Speaker 10 (39:19):
So we're at pick up USA Fitness dot com. And
then if you go down to Sambordino, it's gonna be
a little a web page form and then our phone
number nine or nine seven ninety six one zero zero nine.
Like I said, you can also hit us up on
Instagram at pick Up Underscore US. Pick pick Up Underscore Sabordino. Yeah,
just hit us up man is.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
Man good stuff right there, will get a big shout
out to my guy. I know, I know Mino's order
trying to act like he's shy or something like that, man,
but big up to And I know this wouldn't happen
without Mindo.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
Man.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
I really appreciate Mindo connecting Adopt if he came in
and just you get to see the passion that he
has about basketball and about about you know, about pick
up USA, about the community. Again that that's one of
the things that really gravitated me to you guys. Man,
So again, keep up the phenomenal work. We can't wait
till this camp goes down again. Beyond the Game Basketball Camp,
it's going to be happening August first. We're running through

(40:09):
August third. Make sure you guys come hang out with us.
Please please please follow us on Instagram. You guys can
find more information now where you guys can get registered
to sign up. Man, Thank you so much again. We
appreciate it. Man. We'll be talking to you guys soon again.

and it with some good stuff. This It sounds like
he's been there multiple times. He's like, yeah, this is
what I do. Yeah, he wasn't even he was he
was big timing on his coach b so Uh and
again a big shout out to UH coach Wells uh
Duke alumni International basketball star in the Rialita Hall of
Fame is going to be helping us out be one
of the instructors for the Beyond the Game Basketball camp

(43:26):
and as well as the host of the camp.

Speaker 7 (43:29):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
The good folks will pick up USA. We're really excited
to have them here and UH now we have She
has a thing that she said. When she first said it,
I thought she will say it curse word, but she
was not. She said, uh, what do you say? You
do it with the bulls.

Speaker 14 (43:45):
Oh my gosh, I don't even remember what you.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
Said bucking bulls.

Speaker 9 (43:48):
Bulls I was.

Speaker 1 (43:51):
I was like, I'm sorry, wait, what are we doing anyway?
But please go ahead introduce yourself to a live radio artists. Please.

Speaker 14 (43:58):
Hi, name is Page and I am a second year
sponsorship coordinator for the ukiper Rodeo and UKAPA California.

Speaker 1 (44:05):
Fantastic good stuff right there were.

Speaker 14 (44:09):
Ukayper Rodeo is going to be at the UKIPE Equestrian Center.
It's on California Street. We just had our seventh edition
of the ukayper Rodeo. This year back in May. So
it's kind of hidden. It's like in the wash and
everything like that.

Speaker 1 (44:24):
So I learned something new every day. I'm telling you,
she was talking to me about the rodeo scene. I
had no idea. I'm telling you, I was looking at
her like, I mean, deer in the headlights. I'm like,
what are we talking about? Do I even live here?
But we got a chance to meet over at the
Charlie Sampson Rodeo, and I get just see how excited
you were. Yeah, I mean we were just not kind

(44:45):
of just got there. You were just like this is
a great thing, but just talk about number one, you know,
but you know, your your thoughts about the event before
you got there, and then how it was when you
actually got there.

Speaker 14 (44:56):
Well, it's a first year rodeo and and from my experience,
at least with my and again, I've only been in
the rodeo scene for about two and a half years now,
but it's I was like, okay, it's its first year,
Like let's see what happens. I was really excited, had
a lot of attention and everything like that, especially since
it's it's Charlie Sampson. I mean, he is the first
African American bull rider and the only one that went

(45:17):
to the NFR and one, so I was really excited
to see it. I have a couple of friends that
were the stock contractors that brought the bulls and everything
like that. So you had Colton Meisner with the Meisner
and Sons stock for bulls, and then you had ak
bucking bulls that brought all the junior bulls and sheep
and everything like that. So when I got there, it

(45:40):
was setting up and everything like that, and I was like, Yes,
let's freaking rodeo. Yeah, And you know, it was such
a great event. I mean, for a first time rodeo,
everyone's gonna have a little hiccups and stuff. We have that,
and even the big rodeos have it. Nafar has it
and everything like that. But they really tracted a different

(46:01):
demographic and that's what I really love is that, especially
about southern California, it's not like going to Texas. It's
not like going to Colorado or anything like that.

Speaker 9 (46:10):
Yes, it's very diverse.

Speaker 14 (46:12):
So and you have people from all over the country
coming from Mexico as well to come and compete in
the bull writing and the tie down roping. And everything
like that. So I think it was a great success.
It went a little overtime, but you know, it happens,
you know. But I mean, but the crowd. Crowd stayed
and cheered, and I loved everything about it. And you
could just see the happiness and the smile on Charlie's

(46:35):
face the whole entire night. He was just like, Wow,
I can't believe this happened. And I just think it
was such a great performance. And you know, we're learning
as we go no matter what. And I really sincerely
hope that it comes back because it's it needs to
happen certainly constantly.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Right, And I actually, you now, this is one of
the things.

Speaker 3 (46:55):
And maybe you can articulate this to me, miss Page,
because I'm not versed in the road.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
You'll see, but probably won the NFR.

Speaker 14 (47:04):
Yes, the National Finals rodeo, which is in Vegas every year.
It's ten days of rodeo and that's basically like our
World Championships.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
You know, I think I was.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
I was in Vegas one time and I could swear
I think I saw people for the rodeo there. Yeah,
and I was in Vegas slide because it was at
the South Point.

Speaker 14 (47:20):
Yes, yes, yes, south Point is actually South Point is
probably one of the most well known casinos or not casinos,
I should say arenas or for not just rodeo, but
like Western sports and last sports and everything like that.
It was specifically designed for equestrian sports.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
So they found their niche.

Speaker 14 (47:40):
They found their niche. Sure, sure, And it's like I
just came back in June from there because my horse trainer,
Nick Fonsie, he's a barrel racer. He raced and competed
at South Point on I think it was May thirtieth
and thirty first and first of June, so and it's
it's a fantastic facility. They've got like underneath the the

(48:02):
car port and everything like that, it's actually stalls. It's
a full on barn all the horses are and everything
like that. But they do everything. They have horse shows,
barrel racing down rope.

Speaker 1 (48:12):
You said barrel shows. What is a barrel show?

Speaker 14 (48:14):
So barrel racing is a clover You've got three barrels,
you got two up front, one in the back, and
it's a clover releaf pattern. And it's primarily women that
do it, especially in the n f R. It's only women,
but the fastest time wins.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
Yes, and so you're just hitting the I mean, I
got a chance. We're speaking the same. You tell you something.
That's why I had to bring her on. When I
met her, she was just telling me all this stuff
and I was like, uh, excitement, right, and you know,
and she look at She's like, why are you here
if you all know all this stuff. I'm like, you know,
I'm trying to learn. I'm trying to learn. I'm being funny.

(48:46):
I'm being funny. No, No, you didn't know. You were
very very complimentary. You are very nice. That's why we
wanted to bring you on because again, just a wealth
of knowledge that you have is crazy.

Speaker 11 (48:54):
Me.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
You said, you've only been in the game for two years.
That's that's crazy. She's clearly taking a liking she's gone
on in. What What made you want to get him
involved with the rodeo?

Speaker 9 (49:03):
Do you live?

Speaker 14 (49:04):
I live in Redlands. I actually grew up in Corona
and stuff like that. When I was in in junior
high and elementary school, I was in four h the
Norco Trailblazer, so I rode horses, I competed and everything
like that. But I was in the fu FU side
of like hunter jumper, the fancy stuff that you see
in the Olympics. I worked in professional cycling for about
twelve years, so she's an athlete.

Speaker 15 (49:23):
Yeah yeah, but I retired from that industry after working
for a team USAY and multiple different professional cycling indust
or teams and everything like that.

Speaker 14 (49:36):
And I so I know sponsorship. I know talking to
people and how to make sponsors happy and everything like that.
And I joined a couple of the local Facebook groups
because I got back into horses as an adult about
five years ago when my mom bought a ranch and
Julie Lane, who was our sponsorship coordinator for the Kayper Rodeo,
reached out on Facebook and was posting neverwhere, Hey we

(49:57):
need some last minute sponsors for Mutton and Busty, which
is little kids writing cheap, which is a cute.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
But was the great step.

Speaker 9 (50:04):
That's probably that was part about rodeo.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
Yeah, that was that was nice.

Speaker 14 (50:08):
Yes, So she reached out on Facebook and I was like, hey,
I let me get a couple of sponsors for you.
So I hit up a couple of people that I
knew protunt some sponsors and she was like, wow, thank
you so much, like really appreciate this, and I'm like, yeah,
it's kind of like it's kind of my thing talking
to people stuff. So and she was like, well, would
you be interested in helping me out for twenty twenty four,

(50:29):
I'm like, oh, yeah, absolutely. So I was her assistant,
boots on the ground talking to people and everything like that,
and I learned so much from her. And I learned
so much in twenty twenty four about rodeo. I mean,
I went to Colorado to go see what they do.
I went to many different ones just to kind of
see how different rodeos produce stuff. And she had moved
to Tennessee and she was like, okay, twenty twenty five,

(50:50):
you're taking the reins and wow, oh.

Speaker 9 (50:55):
Yeah exactly.

Speaker 14 (50:55):
So I feel like we, you know, had a very
successful role deo for you type of rodeo this year,
hopefully going back on board next year. And then I decided,
because I like to just not have a life, I'm
helping with the Banning Stage Coach Days Rodeo, which is
going to be in Banning, California at the beginning of September.

Speaker 1 (51:17):
Fantastic. Just I mean, I'm telling you, you walk away smarter.
We're talking to a young lady. Right, yeah, I'll tell
you that right now again. You know you're you're right
on with the with the sheep. What's the called again,
mutton busting, mutton busting coach b right there. I saw that,
and uh and the junior kids that were that, the
youngsters that were riding the bulls too. I mean, that

(51:37):
is a physical sport. I mean, if you anybody, you know,
you think you know, but when those bulls are going
over there, you're trying to get out the way I
mean you're riding. I mean, you get the bull get
hit you in the head. It's very very, very very physical.
And I got a chance to see that up close.
So I've been calling Charlie saying thank you so much
for that opportunity because I have I've I've only you know,
I've seen him on the television, but to get that

(51:58):
close in person was really I was I was shot.
It was great. It was a great experience. Tell us
what else you guys got. I know you have all
kinds of stuff going on. I saw your you know,
you were in what I think Sam Bernardino at there
for the fair with the fair going on something.

Speaker 14 (52:11):
Oh yes, I went to the San Borarannino County Fair
Memorial Day weekend. They had a bull riding there. My
friend Cole Bates is a is a PRC, a bullfighter,
which the PRC is a professional federation for for our
rodeos and everything like that. So Cole inviting me out
because I I love social media. I did video production

(52:32):
in high school. I wanted to do it as a
career and everything like that, but you.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
Know, like happens, and I wanted to be a professional football.

Speaker 9 (52:41):
Yeah, and so.

Speaker 14 (52:43):
I'm like, I like taking photos. I love if i'm
I'm not I'm a leisure athlete. I'm not a professional athlete.
It's a little bit too tough for me kind of thing.
So i am out there celebrating my friends. So I'm
there out taking videos taking pictures. I'm my friend's number
one fans. And I was gaining content for Cole or
his bullfighting so he could put reels together on social
media and get a little bit more sponsors because he

(53:04):
actually is. He goes to BFO World, which is bullfighters only,
so he went to Vegas last Christmas to fight in
the World Championships.

Speaker 1 (53:13):
Wo.

Speaker 14 (53:14):
So I was like, yeah, I'll get videos for you
and stuff like that, and he's like, wow, like everything
that you got was great, Like you should.

Speaker 11 (53:20):
Do this because people will pay for.

Speaker 14 (53:22):
Their rides like their their their stock rides and everything
like that. And I'm like, well, I don't care about
game paid, but you really think so, And he's like, yeah,
got myself like a little Sony camera and everything like that,
went out to the San Marino County Fair, put a
little reel together for them and it just kind of
took off.

Speaker 9 (53:39):
So and that's I love it.

Speaker 14 (53:41):
And just being able to get content for my friends
and everything just means a lot. And and that's kind
of how we got the connection.

Speaker 1 (53:49):
You guys. This stuff man, Yeah, she's on it. She's
all over So please tell us what's going on with you?
What else you have your hands in it?

Speaker 14 (53:57):
So Banning has barrel racing practice every Wednesday at Dyser Park.
Usually starts around six o'clock six thirty. Free to come
watch if anyone wants to come and watch, but we
do have a huge list. I mean, the rodeo season
happens all year round. Wow, the professional season ends at
the end of September because that's kind of like the cutoff.
But we do have a ton of rodeos coming up.

(54:19):
We have the Day of the Cowboy Rodeo and Norco
which is gonna be July twenty.

Speaker 1 (54:23):
Six, is the same facility over there be an amazing facility
up day. I mean again, obviously my first time, so
I don't know, but it was really nice.

Speaker 14 (54:31):
They have about four to five rodeos every year there. Okay,
so it's a huge equestrian facility. They have something going
on almost every weekend, whether it's like team roping events,
barrel racing jackpots. During the week They've got Jim Cannas,
which is basically like obstacle course competitions on horseback and
everything like that. They've got like the saddle shows and everything.

(54:52):
So they it's it's a great facility. Yeah, very nice
please So and then we have the Ramona PRCA Rodeo
down in Ramona, California. That's gonna be August twenty first
through the twenty third. Norcomann A Posse Pro Rodeo again
in Norco, California, there's gonna be one August twenty second

(55:13):
to the twenty fourth. Norco Fair has the Ranch Rodeo
bull Riding during Labor Day weekend that's August twenty ninth
through the September first banning Stagecoach Days Rodeo that's gonna
be September fifth through the seventh. They went from being
three day rodeo to two day rodeo and now they're
back to being three day. It's a great little pro
rodeo that they have going on Poway PRCA Rodeo and Poway, California.

(55:35):
That's gonna be September twenty sixth through the twenty seventh.
And then basically the big hurrah for the rodeo season
is going to be the Sambordino Sherifsh Rodeo. That's basically
Glenn Helen.

Speaker 9 (55:46):
Yeah so, and no.

Speaker 14 (55:47):
One's gonna be September twenty sixth through the twenty eighth.
Lakeside Rodeo or Lakeside has the Bulls Only Rodeo that's
gonna be October tenth, and then you have the Industry
Hills PRCA Rodeo and Industry Hills, California and that's be
October eleventh.

Speaker 1 (56:01):
So she is all in on me. Two years this
young lady came in there and it was like, let me,
you want to get briefed on the on the rodeo scene.
I got your cover. But again, thank you so much, Paige.
We appreciate it having Oh my pleasure. We definitely you're
nervous totally. When I met, I was like, you're a natural.
We gotta get you on. So yeah, keep up the
good work. Again. We'll be circling back with you. You

(56:22):

was great, really really good stuff you did over there
for the Charlie Sampson rodeo. So again, keep up the
good work. I hope that we can we can connect
the dots again. Please stay in contact with us. Yeah,
because again you know, we we need to we need

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
