I reviewed the final Heat game in 2023 where the Hawks lost by 6 points in double overtime. Did you watch? Because if you did, you saw how Butler and Herro and Jovic hurt the Hawks entire game including Highsmith off the bench. If Trae is the only reason Hawks lose games per his defense, how did Herro score 33, Butler score 25 and Jovic score 23 and the Heat hit 18 threes? Because Trae didn't play in that game.   In today's review, you'll see much of the same. And it's pre-season. After showing the Pacers and Sixers game, to keep seeing the same things is disturbing. I've discussed: not blocking out, not getting back on defense, not rotating, over helping, not contesting shots, no communication, not fighting through screens and more for a long time. These issues must be fixed for the Hawks to be true contenders in the Eastern Conference.   Be sure to subscribe to the IMTM Worldwide Radio Youtube page. if it works tonight. Before we get started as usual,

(02:29):

(03:11):

(03:34):
way to South Carolina, came all the way back through
the transportation company. There is a really nice service, is
really really professional, very comfortable, comfortable. So whether or not again,
you're going to Athens for a UGA game, you're going
to go to an away game, maybe you're going to
go to New Orleans. Hint hint, Falcons, make sure you

(03:54):

pictures together. You don't have no options. Imtmworldwide Images dot

(04:15):
Com would be one for you. So before I get
started talking hawks and heats, I do want to mention
this about Kobe. Kobe Buskin proved why I say he
has to be the backup point guard for this team.
Not start next to Trey, not stagger, none of that.

(04:38):
Kobe shows that he can run the offense and he
can score if needed. Okay, he will never take that
many shots in real life, obviously, right, but he can
hit the shots. He can do the things that you
need to do. Here's why I say you don't start
them next to trade that the gates completely besides it

(05:00):
advantage that we've had for many years now, and you
take away you're you're basically gonna be one of your
best defensive players away from defending the number one of
the other team. We can't have another season like we
had last year, defensive rating one nineteen. All the points
in the paint that we get, we can't. We can't.

(05:20):
I'm gonna bring them up again during this show, but
we can't do that. You don't stagger, because now here's
here's a big of fact. If you were to do
what I suggest and start Trey Dyson, that JJ and
o'com group, all right, and then you have Kobe Bogey Hunter,

(05:43):
I'm gonna throw NAT's in there. At this point, my
internet just went down. I'm gonna throw Nats in there
at the four back of the back of four at
at this point, and then have Clint come off the bench.
If we keep Clint. Now, what you can do is
play five on five twice. You got five starters against

(06:04):
five starters that you can match up to. And then
on your second team, you got five second team guys
against the other five second team guys. And I'll take
my five second team guys against most of the second
teams of the NBA. Yeah, there's a couple that have
you know, better than average players for the most part,
but not all of them. Because last year we couldn't compete.

(06:28):
Injuries or not, we were not competing on any level. Right.
We know that because of the record. We know that
also because of the numbers, which I've given y'all plenty
of times if you watch all my episodes. Right, But
if you got Kobe right doing what he can do,
you got Bogan Hunter providing the offense that you need
these twenty five thirty points a game, possibly just on

(06:51):
those two guys right there, nance who is fluid. He
can rebound for you if you need to. He can
hit some shots, he can hit a three right, and
then if you got Clint, Clint, get all the rebounds,
don't worry about nothing else. You're the rebound guy from
now on. That makes us a deeper team than staggering
Kobe and having all this other jibber jat. And then

(07:13):
also if you start vogue in Hunter the defense that
they're not going to provide, they're not gonna drumpt they
can't do it, so stop faking the funk. Just let
them score and don't worry about nothing else. We become
a dangerous team all of a sudden. So I just
wanted to say that about Kobe right off the bat.
It just proves my point. I'll talk about it another

(07:34):
time probably. Oh, I'm gonna be doing the Okay Sea
review soon, so look out for that. So I just
wanted to start off the show in regards to that.
So again, tonight is a call in show six four
six six two four four seven nine. Hopefully it works.
We'll see if it does. I'm gonna go ahead and
get started with tonight's game, which is the Atlanta Hawks
versus the Miami Heat, and let me just check make

(07:57):
sure I don't have any callers. Just before I get started. Okay, cool,
So we watched the game before because we had all
these games we had to run into each other because
of the storm and got rescheduled and all that, right,
so we had back to back games. So and then
well I'll get into that another time, the Miami Heat game.
So if you have watched any of my reviews, you

(08:19):
know that one of the games I reviewed from twenty
twenty three was the Miami Heat game where the Hawks
lost that game in double overtime. They lost that game
by six points, right, So if you watch that game,
we had a four point lead in the first overtime, okay,
And if you watch my review, you know how I
talked about DJ had just scored. We had four point leads.

(08:42):
I think Bogie had a couple of free throws in there,
and then we gave up two threes back to back
that allowed the Miami Heat just tied the score to
get to double overtime, and then we subsequently lost that game. Okay,
in that particular game, I want you to take no
of a name. If you go back and watch that

(09:03):
particular review on around the atl hopefully you subscribe to
the i INT and Worldwide Radio page. There's your minder
right there, boom, you'll see why I say that. Then, well,
I want you to pay attentions to the name Heismith
in this review, because I'm gonna say it a lot
in this particular episode of Around the atl So And

(09:24):
in fact, just to help out, I'm going to post
that game in the comments section for you to check
out if you want to. So let's see, I mean
double ot loss in twenty three pace and there you go.

(09:49):
So go check that game out. Okay, I'm not gonna
give you any more. Just need to check that game out.
Now for the Miami game, I'm gonna get back over here.
Here you go. So in Miami heat. Oh by the way,
and this is happen. Just a reminder for those who've
never watched, I break down the break down the game,

(10:09):
shot for shot of the opposing team he shot that
win in not missus and free throws and all that takes.
That takes even longer. Okay. Also break down points in
the paint, fast break points, second chance points, three pointers
given up. I go over the best three scores on
the opposing team. I go over the best three scores
of the Hawks. I break all that down before I

(10:30):
get in the shot for shot. So in this particular game,
I'll go ahead and finish about the twenty twenty three game.
Go back, when you go back and watch the review
of the game I just posted. Hero had thirty three
points in that game, Tyler Hero, Butler had twenty five
yovich at twenty three. Why did those players do so

(10:56):
well in that game? Oh, and they hit eighteen threes
in that game. And by the way, too, why did
all of that happen if Trey Young didn't play in
the game. I want someone to go and watch and
then come back and explain it to me. Okay, because again,
if the premise is Trey Young is so bad and
Trey Young's defense is so bad and that's the reason
we lose all these games, what about the games he

(11:18):
doesn't play in that was one of them. Go watch it,
watch all the shots and how they were made against
who and the how, and then come back to me
and we can talk about that. So for last night,
not last night night before Miami Heat, they had sixty
two points in the paint in that game. They had

(11:38):
seventeen second chance points in that game. They had thirty
six fast break points in that game. Thirty six. Is
any of that positive. The Atlanta Hawks in twenty twenty
three were twenty eighth and fast break points giving up.
There were twenty fives in points in the paint given up,
there were twenty six in block shots, and they gave

(12:00):
up fourteen threes a game or more for the season. Okay,
In that Miami Heat game, they gave up thirteen threes. Okay,
Now for the Heat. Jimmy Butler in twenty minutes had
twenty four points on eight of eleven shooting. He's got
seventy two percent for the game. In a preseason game,

(12:21):
he hit both of his threes. Tyler Hero had nineteen
points fifty eight percent shooting. Again, he didn't play a
lot of minutes in that game either. Hei Smith had
sixteen points on six of eight shooting in seventeen minutes.
All right, Now, for the Hawks leak, we only had
thirty six points in the paint. As a comparison, we

(12:43):
had ten second chance points and we had twelve fast
break points. We did hit seventeen threes, but really all
of that was negated by the thirty six fast break
points that we gave up. In the sixty two points
in the paint agreed basest math right now. For the Hawks,
JJ had twenty one points on eight of nine shooting,

(13:04):
hit all four of his threes. He did great. JJ
was killing it that night. Right Kobe had fifteen points,
four of nine shooting hit the three, had four boards,
four assists, two blocks. Okay, kind of a prelude to
the OKC game. Agreed, Right, Roddy the body, he had
fifteen points, but it was on five or fifteen shooting.

(13:25):
He went one for seven from three. He had four
boys and assists and the still in that Miami game,
Clint had left with an ankle issue early in the game,
so he didn't come back. I do want to give
Harris a little bit of a shout. Cavon Harris in
ten minutes he was four to nine from the floor,
had two boards and assists and the steal for thirteen points.

(13:46):
Not bad for the game itself overall, but he had
more boards and assists and steals. The teams were even
on blocks. Hawks had twenty two turnovers in that game.
Very bad. All right, free throws are pretty much even.
But again, for this coming season, we cannot be last

(14:07):
and fast break points given up. We lose games. Because
of that's that's why we lose the majority of the
games that we lose. That's one of them. Okay, we
can't be twenty fifth in points in the paint given up.
We can't keep giving up fifty three, sixty five, seventy
two eighty points in the paint anymore. Okay, can't do
that anymore. And we can't be twenty six in block shots.

(14:29):
That means again, and I've shown this in a lot
of hours of game film. We're not contesting shots, and
I'm gonna show it in this particular game film tonight.
Is not cool. I don't understand why y'all accept it, though,
because a lot of y'all accept it that we don't
contest shots. Okay, so let's go to the first quarter

(14:52):
and let me just make sure I don't have any
callers again. This is a call in show. Let me
throw the number out there again, six four six six
five two four four seven nine if want to call
in and talk a little Hawks basketball. Hopefully you do,
so let's get into it. So I guess I'll keep
the number up for a minute. So first shot, and
I forgot that I put this upside down again. I

(15:13):
gotta quit doing that. It's confusing. So first quarter, where
am I at here? Oh and by the way, that's
what I was looking at that heats scoring one hundred
and twenty points in this game. Okay, so keep that.
Keep that in mind. If you go back to the

(15:35):
box score, go look at the plus and minus of
all three preseason games we've played so far. I think
he'd be interested. And that is what for? Doesn't it
count now all of a sudden right anyway, first shot
of the first quarter, it's a fast break. Now let
me let me go ahead and do this too before
I get started. Here's here are some things that you're

(15:55):
gonna hear me talk about a whole heck of a
lot for helping get him back on defense, communication on defense,
staying with your assignment, contesting shots, locking out. You're gonna
hear me say that a lot during this heat versus

(16:15):
Hawk's reviews. So I just want you to keep that
in mind. I'm gonna talk about that a lot. So
first shot, first quarter, you got fast break right off
the jump. You got scary Terry out there coming all
the way down the court. Nobody stops the ball. This
is just basic basketball, and we never do it, we
never do it. Trey comes up to defend, he raises

(16:39):
up Scary Terarry does and hits the floor. Now this
is basically their first field goal, makeup the game. I
guess Trey could have fouled him right off the bat,
but he didn't, all right, and he did pretty much
what you would do in that particular cases. Nobody stopped
the ball. Okay, So when he gets to the paint,

(17:00):
you know, Trey comes to contest, do a little something something,
but without just you know, spin kicking them, I guess,
or wrapping them up. He did enough to wear Scartary
has to try to make that shot. So here we go. Now,

(17:26):
mind you also, usually I would give those two points
to the person who turned the ball over. But this
wasn't a one on none fast break. As you can see,
we have people back. So if you get people back,
then as a matter of somebody got to try to
stop them. In this case it was Trey didn't stop them.
Those are Trey's two points. So two points to Trey
right there. Second shot, first quarter. Trey has carried JJ

(17:49):
has Yovich, Dyson has Tyler, herro Quint has banned okay,
Vint has Butler and somebody mentioned it in a post
on another Facebook page at a bad matchup and the
points giving up at the end of the game is
going to reflect that. Unfortunately for bit tonight, he had
a bad night tonight. Okay, anyway, Butler passes it, the

(18:11):
Bam Bam passes it, the Hero, Hero drives. He passed
by Dyson. Okay. Clint comes to the paint, JJ, who
has left his man, is there, dice In is trailing. Okay.
Hero goes all the way to the bucket, however, and
lays it up. Now, Trey, he also lost his man

(18:32):
in this particular possession, but they didn't look to pass
at the terry, so take him out of the equation
on that one. Hero. Unfortunately he scored this one on
Dison because JJ and Clint was there. But I'm gonna
give it the Dison for getting blown by because that's
what happened. Okay. I could give it to Clint for
not trying to block it at least or JJ, who

(18:53):
was actually the help defender and not stopping the ball,
but again, because it was clean blow by, I'm giving
this the Dison. Here's a second shot first quarter decid
quick look at for a score. So do you see
what I'm Do you see what I mean? Right there? Again,

(19:14):
you have the ability to maybe stop the progress of
the ball handler, but it doesn't happen. And again, at
a certain point, it's what I'm trying to think of
a nice word. The effort on defense is fifty percent.
Sometimes it's it's kind of like a show me, I'm

(19:36):
doing something defensive binded, but it's not the whole it's
not the whole thing. Okay, the effort has to be
one hundred percent to get the stops that we need
on a regular basis, And in this game tonight, it
did not. It didn't happen. It didn't happen enough to
win the game anyway. Well, Christmas is a preseason game.

(19:58):
These things bleed out. Yes, the preseason game doesn't mean
anything in the standings, but it does mean something in
regards to the competition part of it. Right, So I
want you to keep that in mind as I go
through this third shot first quarter? Again, where are the
things again? Blocking out, staying with your man, rotating, fighting
through screens, communication on defense, blocking out, getting back on defense.

(20:21):
We don't do these things as a team, y'all. Third
shot Hero is driving to the basket. For some reason,
VI turns his back on his man and then comes
to the paint. You have five Hawks looking at one player.
Nobody uses at peripheral. No one is calling anything out.
We're just staring at stuff. That's not defense. I'm telling

(20:44):
you it's not okay. Hero passes the ball to a
wide open Butler. You know what he does. He hits
the three. They hit thirteen threes in this game. As
a reminder, here is a third shot first quarter the
game of the league.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Very wrong. Nice dish by Tyler Hero.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
That's winning basketball.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
You can't do what we do. I'm gonna play it again.

Speaker 5 (21:09):
There's so much more confident activity the game in the league.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Very wrong. Nice dish by Tyler Hero. That's winning basketball.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
What the Hawks did in that possession is not winning basketball.
Why did Vic leave Butler come all the way down?
That left Butler open? But worse, why didn't anybody try
to go and contest the shot at all? It was
a wide open three? A why I'll play one more
time for the heck of It's.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
So much more confident activity.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Game of the league.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Very raw. Nice dish by Tyler Hero. That's winning basketball.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
So you tell me why that was acceptable. I want
someone to message me on the comments section called six
four sixty six fot two four four seven nine and
tell me why that effort there was acceptable and why
is it Why is it accept the first quarter, second quarter,
third quarter, fourth quarter, eighty two games a season, because
that's what we've gotten. And that's why I said, excuse me, oh,

(22:09):
where's my water? I'm gonna have to get my water
in a little bit. Why is it acceptable that nobody
on the bench makes any adjustments. There is no defensive
coach on our team that says, hey, Vic, why did
you leave Jimmy Butler. Your man is Jimmy Butler. You
got to stop Jimmy Butler from scoring. Whatever's going on

(22:29):
behind your back don't matter. You gotta let them find
for themselves. It is what it is. You're in the
year of battle. Everybody has a job. Your job is
to stop Jimmy Butler. For vit to turn from his man,
come all the way forty feet away from his man.
What did you think hero was gonna do? And unfortunately,

(22:50):
we have so many possessions where you got five Atlanta
Hawks in the painted area, which means you got the
ball handler doing whatever he's doing, and then you got
no less than three open people at the top of
the keys. That's why we give up. Fourteen Three's a game.
It ain't brain surgery, y'all. It's not cool. It's not cool,

(23:12):
and I've showed a lot of game film showing that
it ain't cool. Fourth shot, first quarter, Bam has the ball,
Terry comes around baseline, Hero tries to pick Trey, he
goes through it, Vam passes him the ball, then he
dies to the basket. Trey trails Terry all the way around. Okay,
I'm gonna give to Clint for not doing what he

(23:34):
usually does and go to the ball handler. He didn't
do that this time because otherwise Bam would have a
wide open dunk easy. Clint gives way, but then JJ
comes over to help, but then takes a bad angle,
so Terry he's able to keep moving forward to where
Clint now. Clint has to come up and allows Bam

(23:56):
now to get that easy dunk. Okay. Unfortunately, though, I'm
going to give these two to Clint because he didn't
contest to shot at all. He's our big Barren and says, God,
you gotta turn around and try to block it or
foul them. But to not do anything, I don't think
that's acceptable. That's just me. I couldn't have got away
with that if I was playing in the same and

(24:17):
I don't get away with it when I play. You
see what I'm saying. But here's the fourth shot, first quarter.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
The corner on trade Young, he gets to the faint
and put it on a Sutler.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
You see what I'm saying. You see what I'm saying.
You can't let it happen. There's things there again, there's
air tides and flows, but a lot of this is
still just basic basketball. It's just basic basketball. And we
don't do basic basketball well on defense as a Hawks team.
And that's disturbing to me because all the stuff that
I showed in the twenty twenty three games that I've

(24:55):
shown so far, and the in the two and a
half preseason games I'm showing so far, the elements have
not changed at all. I mean, there's people who are
standing in the paint for the whole possession. You go
see that tonight. It's not cool. Okay, overhelping not rotating again,

(25:16):
the same stuff over and over again and again. Will
the will. Will the change in players be enough to
mitigate some of it? I say yes, But to not
fix these things that are fixable is messed up to me,
because we could just win a whole bunch of games
if we just fixed it. Fifth shot, third quarter, I
mean first quarter. So I want you to hear the

(25:38):
Miami commentators in this clip. All right, the Hawks again,
reminder they gave a fourteen three's a game. Last year,
they were twenty eight and fast break points given up.
These are all teams stats, y'all. Okay, he had thirty
six fast break points in this game, thirty six. The

(26:00):
Hawks were twenty fifteen points in the paint given up
last year. They had sixty two points given up in
this game in the paint. Okay, So again I want
to ask a question, all these things happening, How are
all these things one player is sought but not the

(26:20):
rest of the team, Because one player can't cause all
those things, especially if heck corner of the season, that
player is not even there and the things are still happening.
That's just strange to me. Okay, So what's this some
fifth shot? So actually in this this is an interesting one.

(26:43):
So out of all the games I've reviewed, and I've
reviewed I think eleven games. This is the first possession
where a player actually gets screened to get on track.
It's crazy all these games, this is first time has
actually happened. Took them out. I believe it's uh yeah,

(27:04):
Terry has, Trey has Terry. Terry is able to pick
off it. You can't fight to the screen for some reason.
Butler gets Trey now, so Trey, he picks him up.
Butler goes to the post. Yovic sees it. Give us
the ball to Butler. Okay, now here's a here's another
point of mind. And this is me as a big
usually that you know, when I play and I have

(27:26):
a smaller guard or a smaller person on my team,
I'm not gonna let the smallest person on my team
be bottomselves against whoever the best player on their team is.
I ain't gonna let that happen, especially if it happens
to be the center. Let's say if I got picked
off somehow, I'm not gonna let the center just eat
up my smallest guy. I'm gonna go in double team,

(27:48):
or I'm gonna go and switch back. If they don't
take an immediate an immediate opportunity to attack. There's still
time to switch your man back. But if there isn't,
go double team. Say you gotta get through two people. Now, see,
that's what teams do. It's called health defense. Why would
you leave people on an island? Hope? What Chris? It

(28:11):
happens all the time? No, it don't, because the first
time in eleven games, just eleven games of our review,
this is the first time it's happened. So it's not
happening like people are saying it is. It just isn't.
The other times that Trey is on somebody who's bigger
or whatever is usually because people don't stay on their assignments,
whether it be bringing the ball up the court and

(28:32):
or fast break and or just proof I don't know
where my man is. Someone got to pick him up. Now.
Like that Indiana Pacer game that I showed y'all from
last year, Why is Trey trying to guard Miles Turner.
That's interesting, but anyway, that's a whole other story. But anyway,
let me show y'all the fifth shot of the first quarter. Oh,

(28:55):
by the way, I do have to mention this besides
nobody doubling, Okay, because Clint could have came over, somebody
could have came over right, or they could have switched.
But Clint actually takes a bunny hot backwards. Ben confess

(29:18):
that creates space. I'm not sure what that was, but
I want you all to look at it in this
particular case.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Can they get stop and different back into the playoffs?

Speaker 3 (29:34):
You're the bot vy here under that or rainbow that.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
Every time I see that, it's almost as if the
Hawks concede all points, because again, Clint could just easily
came over and just doubled. He was actually the rotating
help defender on that, and he just kind of let
that happen. And then when he decided to come and contest,
he kind of I'm not sure, maybe I can't up
as it happens way too much on our team. Guys, guys, gals,

(30:07):
and not just him, a whole bunch of people do that.
They they go away from it. You know, it was
the Army commercial. They always go towards the battle for us.
It always seems like we kind of shy off away
from it. And it's not even the contact part of it.
It's just like you're letting this this layup about to happen.

(30:28):
You're blocking out waiting for the impending shot, and the
shot hadn't even gone up yet, but you're clearing a
lane for the opposing player. I've shown y'all hours of that, Okay,
but I would give those points to TRADEO. You know
you could have fout them. I guess you know by
the way some of you are not going to be

(30:49):
happy when I fall out. How many points everybody gave
up in this game. Just going to let y'all know
you ain't gonna be happy. Seven shot, first corps, Butler
from half court passes it to Yovich and drives the back.
This is an easy one right here, I'm not sure.
Wait a minute, I skipped one a skip one. Six
shot first quarter, so this is actually another fast break,

(31:11):
though nobody stops the ball again another element that we
don't do as a team. We will never stop the
ball on a fast break. We won't do it. So
Terry Bullet passes it the hero Dyson tries for to steal,
doesn't get it. I'm not mad about that, but nobody
rotates a wide open hero Kobe could have, but he

(31:32):
stopped and watches him hit the three on this one.
This is shot number six first quarter.

Speaker 5 (31:40):
Season and here come truth here in Miam the point he.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
Explain that effort right there is that okay, But see me,
if I had look and see Tyler Hero wide open,
knowing who Tyler Hero is as a whole song about him,
I'm gonna just let him shoot it. See if I
did that, I wouldn't be playing. I would get pulled.
Six four six eighty five two four four seven niners

(32:09):
a number you can call in and participate or even
go to the comments section. It's open. But I wouldn't
get picked up in that game. If I was doing
stuff like that, I didn't get away with it, and
I don't get paid to play. Let me show it.
Let me show it to you again. Bullet passed to
wide Open, Taller Hero watch.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
Season running.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
True, You're in Miami point.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
They suck Dyson tried for it, steal and don't make it.
They know that was his man. So again, your brain
got to say Dyson is not in position to guard
Taller Hero no more. Somebody got to step up, and
no one did. They just let him hit it. I
don't care if it's preseason. It's the competitive part of this.
We gave up thirteen threes in this game, we gave

(32:57):
up sixty two points in the paint and thirty six
fast break points. That was two. That was three of
them right there. That's how you lose ball games, guys.
Seventh shot, Butler from half court passes at the Yovich
who drives to the basket. Seventh shot.

Speaker 5 (33:15):
Look for Resono Yovich coming right that crazy's nicely talked
about Yovas.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
That was on bit not too hard to explain on
that one right shot number eight, first quarter, Bit gets
the ball stolen, leads to a bucket. Remember if you
have a turnover and there's a one on nine fast
break the other way, those two points are yours. Here
we go, Zoby.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
Plufkins picking up the dribble, Mountain Daniels giving it off.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Here on. You gotta love this turning defense and the
like I said, the one on one and do anything
about that. He goes to the person who turned the
ball over. Shot number nine. So here's another example of
there can't be anybody teaching any defense from that bench. Okay,

(34:13):
So thirty one, which I think is Bryant on the
Miami Heat, has the ball, Burt's gets the pass, Trey
goes under the screen, stays with Burkes. Bryant cuts to
the basket. At that point, JJ stays with him, then
lets him go. Okay. Burke's is still dribbling, then hands
off to Duncan. Garrison is trailing him. Bryant then stets

(34:37):
the screen for Duncan, and instead of not staying with
his man, he comes to Duncan. All right, now it
matters as there are two help defenders and Roddy and
JJ there are there. Okay. Then Trey leaves his man
as Duncan hits the paint. Okay again, there are five

(34:59):
Hawks now that are in the vicinity of the painted
area for some reason. Okay, this leaves Burks open. Okay.
Number twenty four is open. I can't remember his name.
Off the bat. Duncan passes it to Burkes and he
hits the three. If he had passes a heitsmith, he
probably hits his Okay. But like I said, this happens

(35:22):
game after game after game for the Hawks where people
are worried about people they're not supposed to be worried too,
and it leads to open men, It leads to mismatches,
It leads to open holes in your defense when you
don't stay with your assignment. This is basic stuff, y'all. Okay,
and again, this is very similar to what happened in

(35:45):
the double overtime game against the Miami Heat that I
showed y'all, and Heismiths hits a three. I want y'all
to go and look at that I posted in the
comments section. But here we go with shot number nine.
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Larry Dams for.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
He was a high fine bullet for ships.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
Can't do that, guys. By the way, in that double
overtime locks to the Miami he again, Trade didn't play
that game, and we gave up eighteen threes in that game. Okay,
So I think I gave that through to Trade anyway,
just because, but I could have gave it to a
whole bunch of people and a couple of these possesions.
I think I actually split points between players. I've never

(36:33):
done that before, but I started doing that recently. Test
shot first, Kloyer, another fast break. Nobody stops the ball,
nobody stays with their assignment. Again, Hawks gave up thirty
six fast break points in this game alone off of
miss dump by Naps. And I don't even know how
he missed that dump. Bryant streaking down and gets a dump.

(36:55):
Nobody called out, who was open? Nothing watched this lives
missed it.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
First.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
And the worst thing about those type of baskets is
how I feel about it is it's a casualness that
what's evening gonna get them back instead of we gotta
stop letting it happen, see and and and calling a
time out in those those particular cases. Don't do anything

(37:38):
to me, don't do anything for me because I don't
think it's being addressed, because otherwise we would see it
adjusted on the court, and it never does. It never happens,
not can prove it. Where was that number ten eleven shot?
First quarter? Again, there's ever a reason to turn your

(38:01):
entire body away from your opponent. JJ has his back
to Highsmith on this possession. What happens when you know that,
you know you're not using your peripheral vision, your back
is turned, you know what happens? Usually they cut behind you, right,
But I'm just saying that in general, I'm just that's
what makes me mad about it. Use your peripheral vision,

(38:22):
make sure your guy can't score. That's your job. So
here you go. We got hommie jaquz or jack o Wez.
I don't know how to pronounce his name. He drives,
Trey comes up to try to contest to dribble, he
passes it to Burt, Roddy switches, Robinson dies to the
from the top. JJ is standing in the paint, but

(38:44):
again there's a need to in this case because NaN's
was there. Nance's standing in the paint the whole possession basically,
but then left his man at the top of the key.
So when Burke's drives, then he moves out of the
paint to try to prevent the top of the key pass,
but that leaves Heismith's open. And again JJ didn't even
jump to contest the three. I don't like that. You

(39:08):
might not block the shot, but you might just for
that split second mess him up just a little bit,
but to not contested at all. Eleven shot first quarter,
six to seven.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Out from three of the offs.

Speaker 6 (39:24):
He's gotta match up earlier in transition, taking away some
of those long range of threes the boss.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
Like to take.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
Yeah, did you see what I'm saying? We gave a
thirteen threes in this game, y'all, just cause I just
want someone to tell me how is acceptable, how is
acceptable to just keep giving up these type of points
every game because you can't stand those type of games. Again,
the Hawks lost twenty one games last year by seven

(39:55):
points or less. In the eight games of the twenty
twenty three seasons, I showed three of those games we
lost by six points, three points than one point. In
the six point game, we gave up eighteen threes. Eighteen threes.
That means you give up maybe three less threes and

(40:17):
we win that game. But again we were leading and
over in the first overtime. We were winning a game.
I guess nobody cares. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (40:26):
I can't though.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
That was the last shot of the first quarter. Actually,
so let's get into the second quarter. Make sure I'm
on the right one. And again, if you want to
call in and speak, six four six six five two
four four seven niners a number JJ gets beat at
the top by Berks, Burts gets to the paint. Difon
and Nats are there, but neither of them can test
a shot. So this one I am splitting the points

(40:47):
amongst people in this particular case.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
Open the second quarter with a resound.

Speaker 6 (40:54):
Yeah, I told you, I what he really came the
itz on a year ago to score outside and if.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Nobody jumps, like, how did just let somebody just take
a jumper in the paint? Like again, everybody has a job.
If I'm in the paint, my job is not the
less small people score. If they come in fine, I'm
either trying to block your shot or I'm fouling you.
You gotta take that back out, sir. We don't contest shots.
We just conceive shots, and they're always in the paint.

(41:26):
For some reason, we gave up sixty two points in
the paint in this game. Remember what the final score was,
one hundred and twenty to one hundred and eleven. Why
did we give up one hundred and twenty points in
this game, guys? Was that the first shot? Second shot?
Jaquez has the ball, Garrison is on him, Burk sets

(41:46):
a pit Diyce and switches but him. He spins to
avoid cuts to the lane, shoots a floater. I'm gonna
show you why that floater shouldn't have been so easy.
Second shots, second quarter, I.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
Can get a little research to do. There was seventy
seven and eighty seven, so they were actually were lost
in the.

Speaker 1 (42:09):
Two hears another bucket and the paint again, this is
a trend. Okay, third shot, second quarter. And by the way,
for the ones who wanted to try to point out stuff,
a lot of these points both the trade even on
the floor. So how is trade preventing guys from playing defense? Okay?

(42:32):
Just saying all right, third shot, another fast break. Let
me let me let me rephrase that. Actually, let me
let me let me do this real quick hold on
what shot was that second shot? Second shot? Second quarter?
I get a little research to do.

Speaker 5 (42:49):
There was seventy seven and eighty seven, so we're actually
were lost in.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
These points there are being scored is either not in
that play on the possession or not on the floor.
So every time that happens, I want you to say it,
how is Trey involved in those points being given up?
You have to say that out loud. That's your homework
as you go through this. Okay, how has Trey attributed

(43:18):
to those points being given up in that possession? Okay?
Say it? I need you to say it, okay, because
that's how that's how you have to count. All right,
six four six sixty five two four four seven niners
if number you want to call in third shot. It's
a fast break. Nobody stops the ball yet again, nobody

(43:38):
is on their assignment, nobody calls out anything, nobody's talking.
So here's the result. Burkes comes up from the court,
comes up for I should say, Dyson hovers between staying
with him and then going to Jack Quest, who gets
to pass from Burkes. Now him Me passes it back
to Burks. Now Dice in the the pass a little

(44:02):
bit and Trey, who is finally into play in this case.
In this case, he almost gets it, but then Burts
gets it back. Then he drives spins to the basket.
Now JJ is there and he does contest, but he
gets called for goaltending. But again, why don't we just
stop the ball? See, if we stop the ball, it

(44:24):
limits what the other team can do. They actually have
to go into some sort of a you know, possession
at that point instead of being able to you know,
direct what's happening on the court. Okay, but the Hawks,
for some reason, never do that. We just let the
other team have carte blanche on what happens on the floor.
And I just don't think that should be acceptable. That's

(44:46):
just me, though, I'm crazy. Third shot, second quarter.

Speaker 5 (44:50):
Like Kirks should pick up two thousand hands the ball,
but he gets over the hot guess Burt.

Speaker 1 (45:05):
So you see Jalen got called for the goaltending. But
again just to stop the ball at the top of
the top of the key in the first place, top
of that half court. We don't do it. We just
won't do it. And that's why I say it can't
be anything coming from the bench, because we will see
an adjustment when you're last and fast break points giving
up from the previous year. You can't be last again,

(45:28):
can you and think you're going to compete fourth shot,
second quarter. The NBA knows we're not going to switch properly.
We can't do it. Were either not gonna fight through
the screen. We're not gonna call out switch when you
need to instead of trying to fight through the screen.
Sometimes you just need to switch to not allow open man, right,

(45:48):
and we won't rotate to the open man either. The
NBA knows this, okay, So off the inbounds pass, pass
goes to the top of the key. Kobe's man run up.
Duncan sets a pick on the non ball handler that
set him free. I always talk about setting. Sometimes you
set picks for shots, but sometimes you set picks to

(46:09):
get people free, right, That's what I talk about when
I played basketball. Yeah, Garrison and Kobe should have could
have switched to make sure nobody is open, but they don't.
So now Kobe is on the hip of his guy,
Bryant hands it off and dies as a bucket instead
of Nats staying with his man and fourth Evince to

(46:29):
come as a health defender or NET stopping the ball
in fourth and Garrison to help Net's backsauce and lets
the ball handler come all the way in the paint,
then passes to number thirty one for an easy dunk.
And I think thirty one, did, I says Bryant. I
think that's what it is. Again, the heat had sixty

(46:51):
two points in the paint in this game. Is that
acceptable to y'all or not? And again, this happens to
the Atlanta hass a billion times every game each season.
Nobody from the coaching staff is adjusting that. So in
this case, I give these two points to the coaching
staff for the first time ever. Fourth shot, second quarter

(47:12):
is back him.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
Roddy for the home.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
Slam every single time, every time. Can't stop it like
that's right. What I'm scared of is that it's gonna
come in a playoff series and we're not gonna stop that.
That's gonna be for the championship. We're not gonna be
able to stop it because we won't. We won't. We

(47:41):
won't stop it. We won't change nobody's being coached. On
that fifth shot, second quarter, again, nobody stays with man,
nobody calls out for help. He brings the ball up,
and nobody has Bryant, who is streaking down the court. Again,
Duncan should have passed it. You would have had a

(48:01):
wild open dump, but he doesn't. Kobe comes to stay
with Brian because he's coming down. He sees a he's open.
So unfortunately this leaves Heitsmith open again because nobody talks.
When Vit turns around. Why hasn't he already turned around already?
But anyway, Duncan passes at the ball, passes the ball
now to number twelve. Fit is forced to contest. He

(48:24):
Smith is wide open for a pass and he pumps, drives,
lays it up and nobody provides health defense once again.
In this case, I'm gonna give it to Vit because
at the last at the last he's the one who
contested the shot. So this is the fifth shot. Second quarter.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
Nine different players come up with a a shish.

Speaker 3 (48:47):
Year of the first half ball.

Speaker 1 (48:53):
You see at the whistle he called time out there,
it's too late. Let me play it one more time.

Speaker 5 (49:00):
Nine different players come up with a desis.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
Year on the first half.

Speaker 1 (49:03):
And that was a conceited bucket because nobody talked. See
if there's elements of right and then there's the elements
of wrong. Kobe had to go to thirty one. So
nobody's picking them up. Nobody. Nobody knows where they're supposed

(49:23):
to be. Nobody stops the ball, nobody knows where their
assigned player is on a fast break. It's ridiculous. If
Kobe was gonna make a decision and say, Okay, I'm
not gonna let Ran get easy dunk, he has to
leave his man, Well, guess what someone has to talk
to get to the man that just got left open,
and nobody does it. It's frustrating, y'all. It's frustrating. Six

(49:52):
shots second quarter again, assignment. I told you it's gonna
be a repetitive thing. I'm gonna keep talking about it
because it keeps happening. So I'm not sure why Mohammad
Gay is on Hero in this possession rather than him
being on BAM, but it is what it is. Garrison
definitely can't play BAM at all. Right, So Hero drives
on Mohammed Gay passes it to Cherry who nobody's really

(50:15):
garden either. Let me just let me just play this
one for y'all.

Speaker 5 (50:23):
Sticks, He dreams shorts and the rebound.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
Baptist and puts it in.

Speaker 1 (50:33):
So you see what happened after the miss Nobody blocks out?
Did that? Roddy's butter is right there. He can block
out Jimmy Butler. He has the side to do it
and didn't do it. Fitt actually had Jimmy on defense
though he just left this man go happens all the time, guys,

(50:53):
you can't do it. We can see shots. We can
see shots every game. How many points does that so far?
I don't know? And again, train out there. So while
all these points going in, so on, tell me seven
shot second quarter? A lot of shots in this quarter.
By the way, Hero has the ball at the top
of the key on this one. So again, why is

(51:16):
it b with Butler? Why are Kobe and Roddy standing
in the paint. Hero starts to drive. Yovich goes out
to the top of the key. Nobody has him. Butler
goes to the coast. Gay leaves bam for some reason
and then doesn't commit again. You can't be wishy wash
you about. You can't say, okay, let me now, let

(51:36):
me think about this, yeah, I'm gonna go. No, you
can't do that in the NBA, guys, you gotta commit.
It's basketball. Hero goes all the way to the paint
and then here's a turnaround on Garrison seven shot for
the second quarter. Nothing, what that confess, doll, he didn't jump.

(52:05):
Let me show you all again, quicker question.

Speaker 3 (52:15):
Nothing.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
Did you see that down there doing whatever that was?
He ain't in it. But besides all that, Garrison didn't
jump and contest that shot? Is that acceptable to y'all?
Is this defense? Is that defense? Could you do that
with your high school coach? Could you do that with
your college coach? Could you get away with that in
a pickup game? The answer is no to all of us.

(52:41):
A shot again, Why does Roddy back off off of
his man? In this possession? Hero has the ball, dribbles
left Roddy is at the free throw line, Hero passes
at the jovich and hits another three age shot. Second quarter.
You left in the hands, taboom. What was Roddy doing?

(53:10):
Your bat should not be to your guy peripheral vision.
Stay with your guy. Your guy doesn't need to score
if you again. And this is how I play. I
don't know about the rest of y'all. Who I got? Okay,
the center, Okay, I'm not letting him score. Whatever happens

(53:30):
this game. If I don't do nothing else, my job
is to make sure that guy don't have no points
at the end of the game, win or lose. You
can't score. That's my first job, not to let him score.
All the jobs after that, rebounding, blocking shots, set the screens,
passing the ball out the post, scoring in the post,

(53:53):
hitting the open jumper, hitting my baby's hook, hitting my
turnaround fade. All that means nothing if my guy is
scoring buckets. Why don't we have that attitude on our
team because we don't have it. Dyson has it, but
the whole team needs to happen. That's the problem, and

(54:15):
it's not being coached from the bench. It's obvious because
it keeps happening. Let me play it again. There is
no way you can argue that Roder was playing defense
right there. Sorry, that's not defense. He'd let his man score. Sorry,

(54:38):
sorry to be mean about it. If any of the
players watch this, I'm just telling you that's what happened.
There's no other way to explain that he wasn't playing defense. Right.
That's the wrong way. There's the right way, there's the
wrong way.

Speaker 4 (54:50):
That was the wrong way.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
And I'm pretty sure he would say that if he
saw this. I want it to be fixed because I
want us to win, or do y'all just want to
see you guys running up and down the court night shot,
second court. So on this one. Halt did almost everything
you're supposed to do up until the end. The heat
of running screams on people. To get people open, Jovis

(55:16):
dives to the basket. JJ goes with him. Hero comes around,
Roddy is on him. The butler picks him. So when
Terry passes to Hero the ball, he drives the dice
and switches. Roddy is caught ball watching. Butler goes behind
him and gets a layup. Watch this, get that last

(55:37):
finger tip off the ball?

Speaker 3 (55:41):
Yeah, I think.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
That bucket is not possible if Roddy was on his
man properly. That's Roddy's man. Watch it again, get that last.

Speaker 3 (56:03):
Yeah, I think.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
They did everything right until the very end, very end. See,
when we play basketball, and we've been playing basketball for
forty plus years now, one of the things we never
do is stop moving. We're always moving, rotating things that nature.
If I'm playing posts and I can't get positioned, I
move out. If I do get positioned but I don't
get the ball, I move out again, go to the

(56:29):
other side, or I come out instead of screen. But
we're always moving on offense. They got to be the
same thing on defense as well. You gotta be cognisant
of your assignment. If your assignment changes, you gotta liquingly split. Okay,
I was on such inspect but now because of this switch,
now this is my guy, that's my assignment for this
the rest of this possession. The possession is not over

(56:52):
until we get the ball back or they hit the shot.
But hopefully we can get the ball back off of
a misshot. But to not follow through all the way
with a needless bucket going in them who in the
paint right we have up sixty two points in the paint.
We've almost had it again. It's not about whose fault

(57:14):
it is. It's about fixing the faults because you can't
change who actually gave up the buckets. So I need
the people who are giving up all the buckets to
just do a little bit better. Some people are better
than others, right, pss shot. This is a misshot here,

(57:35):
and on a misshot, you gotta know where your man
is at all times. Right or again? Do we not
care about that? Off of a misshot, bound gets the rebound,
passes it the butler who goes all the way down
the court. I'll just show it to you, pretty young.

Speaker 3 (57:52):
Guy, got it?

Speaker 1 (58:03):
You saw who was down there with them, Robbie. So
I'm sorry. It's another miss opportunity. If we miss a shot,
immediately boom boom boom boom boom, where's my man? Boom
boom boom boom boom. Call it out, guys, because if
the other team gets a rebound, they're looking down court.

(58:26):
Someone got to be you know, has to show some
resistance to that. We were twenty eight in fast breakpoints
given up last year and twenty fifth in points in
the paint giving up. This is why. Eleven shots second quarter.
I told you there's a lot of shots in this quarter.

(58:47):
Nobody blocks out again, Trey has Cherry, JJ has Jovitch.
Yovitch shoots the three after BAM's knocked down Muhammed Gay
for some reason, Dyson comes over to help out, but
he had here ro Yogah's missus. By the way, JJ
never comes to contest the three, but Dyson doves. Nobody

(59:09):
switches to open man, Butler isn't blocked out, so he
gets the board, passes the hero. Who does what? Eleventh shot,
second quarter?

Speaker 3 (59:23):
Fold up, Yo, a good luck readout a bumper hero?

Speaker 4 (59:30):
Come on?

Speaker 1 (59:35):
How many uncontested threes? Or I just don't get it, y'all?
It ain't cool to me. Twelve shot. I'm gonna just
play this one. I don't want to talk about.

Speaker 6 (59:44):
This one.

Speaker 4 (59:45):
Where you mentioned you yo picture the Denver nugget. Yet
they were a hole in four it's jabal burray, it's real.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
Stam Otabaya sop to the area in the painted area.
Thirteen shot, second quarter. Stay with your assignments six four
six sixty two four four seven nine. If you want
to call in and you check Mike shalln't got no
callers by accident. Check in a minute. You stay with
your assignment people, that's your job. Doesn't matter if your

(01:00:14):
team just made a shot, you have to do your
job still. So if your team, your offense made a shot,
you gotta go boom. I'm on defense now because that's
what happens, right, They got to take the ball out
and then bound it. You're on defense now, right. So
if you don't do your job and get to your
man now, you got to communicate and be like, hey

(01:00:36):
get Yovich or hey get Butler. But we don't do
that as a team. We don't talk. You hear nothing.
It's like, uh, what's the name of that show? Gosh,
I just forgot the name of it, Holkin's Heroes. I
know nothing. That's what we do on defense. I know nothing.

(01:00:57):
I don't talk. I want I get to say nothing.
I don't know. Anyway, it's a good show. So check
it out. Oh let's see where we are. We come
on the thirteen shot. Yeah, so off the inbound Trey
has Terry, Dyson has Hero, Roddy has Butler, JJ has Yovich,
and Nance has bound. Okay, Roddy is guarding Terry on

(01:01:18):
the inbound he passes it the Hero. JJ is way
behind Jovich already, Butler has no better on him yet.
Trey is there, but he's paying attention to the ball handler.
As Terry is coming up. Nance is there, but as
Hero passes the Butler, there's no contestant to three at

(01:01:39):
that point. He doesn't even jump. I want you to
watch this.

Speaker 5 (01:01:46):
One first half for Kayler Johnson six les checkon.

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
Left and a half, Jimmy half.

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
Standing and putting your hand up is not defense. Standing
and put your hand up to a three point shooter
is not defense. That's not the turning the shot. You
have no chance in the world of blocking that shot. Sorry. Sorry,
it's not defense. It can never be defense. Let me

(01:02:19):
play it again for you. Which shot was that? Thirteen?

Speaker 5 (01:02:27):
First half for Kaylen Johnson team six league second.

Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Left and a half that was. That was halftime. So
now we're going into the third quarter and again, let
me let me put these up again. Locking out and
testing shots, staying with your assignment, communication on defense, getting

(01:02:57):
back on defense, overhealthy. These are the things that continue
to lose Atlanta Hawk's games. And it ain't just one person, folks.
I've shown you this in eight separate games that I've
shown you, and the two preseason games before this one
that I've shown you. It takes more than one person
to give up one hundred and twenty hundred and thirty

(01:03:18):
one hundred and forty one hundred and fifty seven points
in a dog on ball game, especially when a certain
person is not even in the lineup. I've shown you
all that it's an epidemic on this team, and nobody
from the bench is fixing it. And this is why
I'm upset, because I don't know now if some of
the changes on personnel side will be enough to mitigate it.

(01:03:41):
I think it could. And again, we haven't seen the
full squad play and all this kind of jibber jabble
or whatever. But just from the elements of what I've
seen so far, nothing changing at all from a year ago.
It's scary to me. It worries me to test, worries
me to test order first shot, nobody blocks out. Let

(01:04:03):
me make sure I'm hut up here here. Terry drives
for a layup. By the way, nobody stopped the ball
coming up in the first place. Nancy is there, Bit
is there, but I'm gonna just let y'all see what happens.

Speaker 5 (01:04:19):
It's cherry rules. Here off to the races lean mister, but.

Speaker 1 (01:04:25):
It up. Did y'all see anybody block out? Do you
think anybody can test the shot? Let's let's run it again.

Speaker 5 (01:04:32):
It's cherry rules he here, off to the races.

Speaker 3 (01:04:35):
Lean, mister.

Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
It up.

Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
We gave up the shot. We gave up the shot.
With Gary Terry coming down, nobody contests to him. And
then we gave up the shot the butler. By the way,
that counts as a fast break point, so there's two
more points there and then two more points in the paint. Again.
We gave up thirty six fast break points in this
game and sixty two points in the paint. That's how

(01:05:03):
you lose games, folks. And they hit thirteen threes in
this game, by the way, too, Sometimes it matters not
what the three point percentage is. It's the fact that
they hit the volume of threes that they hit. The
Hawks hit seventeen threes in this game, and it didn't matter.
Think about that, yo, Come on, like, let's get with

(01:05:25):
it at a certain point six four, six, seven nine,
or you can comment in the comment section if you
watch and appreciate the support either way. Make sure you
subscribe to the IMT and Worldwide Radio page and we
get to that bounty real quick. Make sure you do
that is Where is it that is that there is?
Make sure you do that right there for me. That'd
be cool. And I'm gonna just call out the number

(01:05:47):
from time to Thomas stead of having that scroll up.
Let's get back to the shots here. That was the
first shot. Here's the second shot. Third quarter. I'm gonna
just play this one because this is pretty easy. Where
is it there? This is.

Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
Where they go hero with a purse out of school?

Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? I can't
get away with any of this. I'm gonna be playing
in a tournament next Saturday. I haven't done that before.
But I've been drafted, so they got me a jersey
and everything, so I wouldn't get picked up. They wouldn't

(01:06:28):
want me on their team. If they thought I was
doing any of the shenanigans that you've seen so far
in two and a half quarters or two in the
third quarter so far, they wouldn't have picked me up.
Oh man, Chris. Chris is three hundred years old. The
reason they picked me up is because they know I'm
not doing none of those scenangas out there. I'm gonna

(01:06:49):
play team basketball. I'm gonna call out switches. I'm gonna
get back on defense, and if you come in the post,
I'm gonna try to block it. Block it. Pro'm a
fail you swat. I got the wings fan, I can
do all that stuff. And then on offense, I'm not

(01:07:09):
gonna be selfish. I'm not gonna shoot my team out.
But if I'm wide open that top of the key,
I can hit that shot and people know it. If
I'm in the post, I can hit my favorite WAYE shot,
I can hit a baby hook. I'm a great passer.
I'm trying to get all my shooters the ball. All
you gotta do is cut. I'll get you a lay
up for three. Which one of you want? Which one
this long? On this value going on that shot. I'm

(01:07:30):
a brilliant pass I am. I can say these because
it's true. I'm gonna set mean I'm gonna set mean
picks for you too. I'll get you a shot. If
I the Prince in basketball, Uh Chappelle, show shoot that shoot.
That's me. I always talked about that, right y'all hear me?
But that right there? Come on, guys, guess what that was?

(01:07:54):
Tyler herro on a one man fast break all the
way down. It was another fast break point and another
points in the pain, third shot. No situational wearing this guys,
no communication. So Terry's bringing the ball up on Kobe,
he passes the Butler. Where is VI going? Why is
he okay? And by the way, where is VI going?

(01:08:14):
And why is he going with Butler when he doesn't
have the ball. I want you to note that in
this case, why is it natural for him to just switch?
Because again me, when I play basketball, I switch when
it's obvious. Why they am I going to cause an
obvious mismatch? And or wide open man? When I can
see this picker coming coming around the mountain, we just

(01:08:37):
call it out lots of times. My guy will say,
Chris switch, stay with him. That's what teammates do. But
us we don't say nothing. And we can see buckets
because of it. What's worse, both Nat and Roddy c
what was about to happen. They could eyeball and they
will make a move to try to stop it. Either

(01:08:59):
and here and so here it's the result. Third shot,
third quarter, seat guys.

Speaker 5 (01:09:04):
For the heat on the offenses. Then said, you got
to make their share of their open looks driving finishing.

Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
Did you see what VI did there? I'm gonna show
it to you again.

Speaker 5 (01:09:14):
Watch VI seat guys for the heat on the offenses.
Then guy said, you got to make their share of
their open looks finishing.

Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Roddy and Nance were there. They couldn't stop that, but
they saw what was happening, and they reacted kind of
all time late. I don't know what you want to
call it, but they were both their founding man crying
out loud. He couldn't he shouldn't have been able to
get that shot off. But you saw what Vin did
and said that VI just saying, okay, I gotta give
this up. I can't say on my man per how

(01:09:47):
this player is playing me. I got to move over
to prevent him from just going straight to the dogs
on packet. Y'all accept this. That's acceptable to y'all. And
how did Trade have anything to do with that? By
the way, is that his fault? Didn't ask him for
the people who hate Tree Young. I'll play it one
more time.

Speaker 5 (01:10:06):
I see guys for the heat on the offenses end
guy said, got to make their share of their open looks.

Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
Driving In fourth.

Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
Shot, Butler creates a steel on Kobe. It would have
been a one on none fast break, but he misses
the first shot and at that point I would have
given that to Covid because he turned the ball over.
But guess what, Vic gets there, Butler lays it up again.
Fourth shot, third quarter, Butler, on the passing.

Speaker 5 (01:10:39):
League freets another steel.

Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
Can he catch it?

Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
Yes? Can he finish up? Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:10:44):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
On the second drive, so Vic gets there and then
just lets him lay it up. Is that acceptable? Fifth shot?
Question for you? You can comment or six fourth six
six ft two four four seven nine? Why did Garrison

(01:11:06):
leave Hero in this particular possession? Jovis passes it to Terry,
Terry passes the bound. Now Bam gives it back to
Terry and he dies with the bucket. Harry is driving
Nancy's trailing bound okay. Vin comes down as to help defender. Okay,
but then he keeps going past the actual place for

(01:11:27):
some reason. Again, are we what are we doing? Are
we con seeing and stuff? What are we doing? Garrison,
for some reason has left Hero and then he gets
backscreened by Hessmith. So guess what happens. I'm gonna show
you fifth shot, third quarter.

Speaker 6 (01:11:43):
Somebody the season comes on Targets, turning on right, he's
gotta he's gonna get reps.

Speaker 5 (01:11:48):
You gotta minutes together that.

Speaker 1 (01:12:02):
I'll show it again. I'll show it again.

Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Turning on right.

Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
He got He's gonna get reps.

Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
You got minutes together, that's what he's doing.

Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
Garrison back pitched himself because he decided to leave his man.
Iceman saw it and said, well, says, you ain't gonna
play defense. Garrison. I'm gonna make sure you can't do
nothing when the ball comes around, because I know it's coming.
Because this is what the Hawks do every day, and
the whole league knows it. You can't just accidentally give
up fourteen threes or more every game. The league knows

(01:12:49):
what we won't do, what we can't do. Coaching on
the other side, Hey, guys, they're not gonna call out nothing.
They're not gonna stay with man, so you keep moving.
They're not gonna stay with you. They're not gonna call
out screens, they're not gonna call out back picks. As
long as you keep moving. They can't stop us. Hey, guys,

(01:13:10):
just keep running down the floor on fast breaks. They're
not gonna come with you. The league goes it and
we won't stop it. And see last year, since we
only scored one hundred and eighteen points a game last year,
See that wasn't enough. That would have been enough if
we didn't give up one hundred and twenty more points
a game last year. See what we needed to have

(01:13:32):
to have been able to do. It's called one hundred
and thirty points a game last year. It said, then
you can negate that foolishness. That's what Indiana Pacers did
last year. Hey, just said, we're gonna askscore you. We
know we don't play no defense, but we can outscore you.
Though we can outscore you. They put up one hundred
and fifty points two times on the halt last year.

(01:13:52):
We're gonna outscore you. We dare you to miss a
shot because you can't stop us. Nothing has changed so far. Guys,
I'm sorry hoping the other team misses shots. Ain't defense
dog on it? Six four sixty six two four four
seven nine is a numbers? Are gonna call in and
talk on some hawk square A little bit, or you

(01:14:13):
can oh comment in the comments section there on the
YouTube channel. Where am I at? Now?

Speaker 5 (01:14:20):
My goodness?

Speaker 1 (01:14:21):
Getting upset? Now? Six shot? I forgot about this one.
See what's upsetting to me is when I have to
go through these shots one by one because it takes
a long time to do this, by the way, but
it's just reminding me of watching the game for the
first time and then watching it play by play the
second time. It just enrages me because all this stuff
is preventable. It's all preventable. I want my team to

(01:14:44):
win the championship, but we can't do it with these
errors happening every night. It's impossible. You can you can't
exceed expectations when we're messing up on the basics of basketball.
It's impossible. The league is too good. We play teams
that are just better. So if the team, if we

(01:15:07):
just did the basics, we would be so much better
as a team. That's all I'm saying. Six shot, third quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:15:14):
I actually think it's a good thing for Miami. John
blame their starters on the second night off a back
to back gets you ready, You wouldn't want it to
be the first time when it count too. I mean, look,
here's terror or as you're knocking down the.

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
Bed Radys jumper.

Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
Seven shot third quarter, we got missed by Dyson. Nobody
gets back. Hero passes it the Heihsmith for a layup.
Now do I give that the Dyson who had just
shot it and told he had just shot it? So?
Can I really play Dycon.

Speaker 3 (01:15:44):
For that one?

Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
Or do I give it the Nats who was the
only one running back? Okay, you beat a judge, but
remember we gave up sixty two points in the paint
and thirty six fast break points in this game. Okay,
seventh shot, third quarter?

Speaker 5 (01:16:00):
How to fight danus to him a shot clock.

Speaker 4 (01:16:04):
For good defense?

Speaker 3 (01:16:07):
Hero shit ahead tracks at school.

Speaker 1 (01:16:10):
I been rewarded there. So did that contest that shot there?
Or did he pull up and just kind of say,
oh you got he didn't try to wipe it block
him or something? Just you know, ay shot. Kevin Love

(01:16:31):
is in the game. Now, I'm gonna just play this.
I'm gonna let y'all see this first.

Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
For shoot them for Eco.

Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
In his twenty fourth minute of playing time.

Speaker 1 (01:16:46):
Kevin n tell me what vit was doing right there?
I don't want to explain it. I'm just ask you
what was it doing? Because VI was right there and
he walked away. Is that acceptable to y'all? Yeah? All
these points at y'all seen so far, how many of
them Trey gave up? Tell me count them? Ball? This

(01:17:07):
ain't about Trey Young. It never has been. Again, Trey
Young wasn't drafted to be Gary Payton or Bruce Bowen
or Dennis Rodman or whoever. Trey Young is gonna give
up some points the stature for one, and then those

(01:17:29):
them miss minutes where he just kind of blanks out
or whatever. But again, he stays in front of his
man a whole egg of a lot more than most.
He can at least take the ball away from you.
He's a league leader and team leader in charge. Is
taken on our team. He at least has some effort
in his and he can offset whatever he might give
up on the offensive side, per his assistan giving the

(01:17:53):
ball up to everybody as much as possible if they
hit their shots, and his scoring ability. He's put up
forty five to fifty points a game and every game
he plays. He's not giving up forty points a game. Guys,
It just ain't happening. I'm shown you all this time
and time and time and time again. One hundred and

(01:18:14):
fifty seven points in the game. Trey Young gave up
all on hundred and fifty seven points in that game. No,
I showed you who gave up what in that game?
Trey Young was one player in that game. What about
all the other twelve that played in that game? Guys?
What about the guys who's played in the twenty eight
games that trade didn't play in? Why are we still

(01:18:35):
giving up points to random people we ain't never heard
of and they got twenty points in the game. Why
does Malachai Fwinn have fifty points in the ball game? Ever?
He didn't do that with nobody else in the NBA
except the Atlanta Hawks. That was in Atlanta in the
state palm Arisas. We had to hold on and win
that game. That was the last game the Hawks won
in twenty twenty three season two. We couldn't stop Malachaise Flinn.

(01:19:00):
Trey didn't play that game. Nobody says nothing to this stuff.
It's acceptabbe we won the game, though. Chritis says, all
right that we you know, we didn't played those defense
and ej n stop him and enable them, and Clinton
stopped them under the bath. It don't matter, but that
bled into the last seven games of the season though

(01:19:20):
the next three games the Atlanta Hawks played after that
Detroit debacle. As far as I'm concerned, given the fifty
points to one player, the Atlanta Hawks gave up eighteen
to three pointers, twenty three three pointers and eighteen three
pointers and three straight games that Trey Young didn't play.
And nobody says nothing, and so far, none of the

(01:19:45):
things that caused those things to happen have changed so
far in twenty twenty four. I'm showing it to y'all.
It has I'm telling you it hasn't. Why I'm showing
it to you because I'd like to show you stuff.
I'm sorry I had to go there, but I'm just
bringing this up again because it keeps happening. He just

(01:20:07):
walked away. Nice shot. Let me show you the nice
shot the third quarter? Was that the eighth shot? Yeah?
Nice shot? Third quarter?

Speaker 5 (01:20:18):
Howe that roddy.

Speaker 1 (01:20:25):
Footwork? Y'all can't see if I'm doing footwork right?

Speaker 3 (01:20:29):
There is?

Speaker 1 (01:20:33):
I mean again, we can we can get with him
to be like man, Honey's really good, but we couldn't
foul though, Roddy, I mean points in the paint again.
Ten shot. Burt's dribbling the ball, he passes it to love.
Who does what you want to guess?

Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
I got five? That's my eleven.

Speaker 5 (01:20:56):
Blow it.

Speaker 1 (01:20:59):
Again. Muhammad gay is six foot freaking whatever. He have
a long wingspan, and he just stood there. You gotta
come up and jump and leap and grevert the concentration
of that jump shot to where he has to do
something because your hand is maybe about to hit the ball.

(01:21:19):
And Muhammad Gaye didn't do that. He just stood there
and put his hands up. That ain't defense. See in
college basketball, you could get away. You couldn't get away
of none of this stuff. You'll getting benched. Oh well, Chris,
they made too much money, they get bench. That's the
era I've been saying. This is six seasons now. You
can't have a dictation of what's gonna happen because of

(01:21:41):
what player makes. Because the other coaches in the league
who actually are winning games, they're pulling people. If Tim
duncan can get bench for fing up, everybody on the
horse can get bench for fing up. We don't do it.
It should be instant instantaneous. You can't play no more

(01:22:04):
to Kevin Love, like he knows who Kevin Love is.
You're gonna let him shoot it. He's still on the roster.
I thought he was gonna retire, but apparently there's a
lot of shots in this quarter. Apparently this is the yep,
this is eleven shots. So Burt's what's open here? Lis see? Oh,

(01:22:33):
so this is a tip rebound. So Gay on the
offensive side had tried to get a tip rebound and
Burt's gets the ball, he lays it up. Somebody does
get back, but I'm gonna just let you see it
for yourself.

Speaker 6 (01:22:47):
A wonderful forum for the young people out there to
watch him shoot. Great square of great ball through by
Kevin Mum always kind.

Speaker 4 (01:22:55):
To facts down the ball.

Speaker 1 (01:22:56):
Burt, Yes, it ran back hard and then just kind
of twelfth shot. Third quarter. Nobody stops the ball again,
Nobody calls out anything. Robinson is running, that's fits man,

(01:23:18):
but he's looking at Hommie. Why didn't Garrison come up
and stop him because that would be the defensive thing
to do. Okay, that's basketball, But instead past the half
court mark, you see guys just running around basically Jamie
Tommie I should say, Sez Robinson passes it to Robinson,
and you know what's gonna happen. Twelve shot third quarter, Robson.

(01:23:53):
Don't get tired of here in the kaboo. Some of
these games I hate having to do because I know
it's going to be the other team's announcers sometimes, but
it's the home game of the other team, and it's frustrating, guy,
because sometimes I'll go through as I'm uploading them and
writing my notes and stuff, I gotta watch it a
couple of times, so it's like I got to hear kaboom, kaboom,

(01:24:15):
it gets it gets Bass and Minnesota game I did
last year. I hated those guys. But anyway, another three pointer.
They hit thirteen of them in this game, guys, So
where am I at? Thirteen shots? On this possession? It
has Robinson, Garrison has high Smith, Roddy has Hommy on

(01:24:39):
the inbound pass, Heighsmith cuts to the basket. Okay, Homy
picks Garrison up. Oh, he picks Garrison. I should say,
Roddy doesn't react to that. I want you to watch.
He could have left Hommie and went to Heighsmith. Okay,
because if he had Duncan might not be able to
get the ball in bounced at that point, he might

(01:25:00):
have been called for five seconds right instead, watch what
happens though. Thirteen shot third quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:25:12):
Robinson for the cunning heisman Quill done.

Speaker 1 (01:25:17):
That was on an inbounds path. Y'all we're gonna do
nothing about that? Are you sure about that? Is that
what the memes says? He's a lot of points being
given up in the third quarter. Aren't let me let
me show that to you again? Real quick? Thirteen shots.

Speaker 6 (01:25:39):
Robinson for the cutting Heighsmith Quell done, Love the shot, guys.

Speaker 1 (01:25:47):
Fourteen shot the last shot of the quarter off of
shot by Miami, Kobe and Muhammad. Gay tries to get
the rebound, bit doesn't block out Homie. Though he gets
the rebound. Matthews just kind of staring instead of staying
with this man who is Heismith Honey passes at the

(01:26:07):
Heighsmiths would guess what I'll show y'all.

Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
Again?

Speaker 5 (01:26:15):
Rock sholot boot word by I may I guess show
fundamentally Sunset.

Speaker 1 (01:26:22):
See what makes me mad on that play is like
Garrison is like trying to be like ah, but I'm like,
but you could have just did your job. Everybody has
to do their job on every position. By the way,
Trey ain't played none of this. There are a lot
of points to trade, not to be out there messing
it up for everybody, right, So how are we blaming

(01:26:43):
trade for that one? We play it again.

Speaker 5 (01:26:47):
Again, Rock Shalott word by I may I guess show fundamentally.

Speaker 1 (01:26:52):
Shun he Garrison throwing his hands up like he ain't
had nothing to do with that. All you got to
do with high Smith is the one who hit the
three wide open last quarter, guys, last few shots. So
remember I said at the beginning of the show to
pay the intention to do the name high Smith. I

(01:27:13):
just said it right. I want you to watch it's
very carefully for everybody who's watching and it let me
stop real quickly me as a person. I'm not doing
this as an attack on people. I'm doing this to
call that out for what it is. Do you not

(01:27:35):
want to actually see this? That's not my fault. You
want to turn the blind eye. A guy used to
work with with used to tell people on the phone, well, sir,
you got you gotta take the blinders off, sir, you
you you did this. We're gonna sue you for five
thousand dollars, sir, when I was working at a law firm.
Some of you want to turn the blind eye to
the foolery. But what I've been showing you over the

(01:27:57):
last couple of months is foolery because it's all preventable.
This could be fixed. It could be fixed. There's gonna
be ad up tides and flows where you have a
little leak here and a little leak there. But for
the Atlanta Hawks, it's every game, it's every quarter, it's
every possession. How do I notice the Hawks were twenty

(01:28:18):
eighth and fast break points given up. We gave up
fourteen or more threes every game. Every game, we were
twenty fifth in points in the paint given up. And
the only reason we weren't really bad at second chess
points is because they scored the first time most of
the time. You see how that works out. I should

(01:28:39):
have got my walter. So that's not good and it
could all be fixed. Do you not want it to
be fixed or you want to just keep doing it
like we've been doing it. That's the question you really
need to ask yourselves. And to try to continue to
blame everything on one person instead of the whole team's falling.

(01:29:01):
It's folly, it's a mistake. In other words, last quarter,
Kobe has births, Roddy has Love. In this case, I,
me and Robinson are being guarded. But I want you
to look who has high Smith in this possession? Love

(01:29:23):
sets a pick for Robinson, Love dies, Robinson passes over
the top to Love. Garrison is there. He comes up
to contesta since nobody is talking. High Smith comes right
up and Love passes it to him for a dunk. Okay,
now sure I can maybe you know, look at Kobe

(01:29:44):
on this one for never turning and seeing high Smith.
But this is another point of why are you leaving
your man? I want you to watch this closely. Now
watch Garrison on this first shot last quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:30:01):
Or Wooki's gone dunket clownsing for what to bounce her?

Speaker 1 (01:30:07):
Been a fixed line game. Garrison was in the paint
for at least how many seconds? Won to five? Why
was he in the paint though? Is he the center
on the subject? Why was he in the paint? Heigh
Smith was at the three twenty feet away. Let me
show it to you again.

Speaker 5 (01:30:26):
I try to check your sej or Wooki's gone dunket
clownsing for what.

Speaker 3 (01:30:33):
To bounce her?

Speaker 5 (01:30:34):
I a fix sline.

Speaker 1 (01:30:37):
That's not defense, y'all, and we do it every game.
That's how our team plays. We have somebody standing in
the paint while their man is twenty feet away at
the three point line. Is every game. I've shown you
elements of that in so many games. It don't make
no sense. Some some games are worse than others. But
that right, there's passfamus that Stephen A. Smith would say, right,

(01:30:59):
why are we accepting that? Though? And again nobody calls
out nothing, Nobody says a word. Nobody says a word.
Nobody says a word. Second shot, last quarter. I'm gonna
just play this one. This is is what it is.

Speaker 5 (01:31:20):
Combined with their defense is gonna make them the factor
of Philandelphia just has so much talent. I see them
being in that humpers crust as well.

Speaker 1 (01:31:30):
Third shot, last quarter, Come a hawk.

Speaker 4 (01:31:35):
They want to clouts again for Atlanta.

Speaker 6 (01:31:37):
From this shot by Roddy and Stevens bullets ahead, Christopher
makes the catch.

Speaker 4 (01:31:42):
And school.

Speaker 1 (01:31:44):
More points than the faint. There's two people back there,
but it's fourth shot. Now on this one again we're
being Are we being trained to just standing in the
paint like this? I don't know, because the taste tells
me maybe we are. Maybe someone's just saying, hey, this
is the best way we can do it. I just hope,

(01:32:06):
I hope I'll ever find this out later on. But
again to take don't lie. Wallace leaves his man completely
and stands in the paint. So where Stevens I think
his name is dribbles by two hawks and drives to
the basket. Wallace moves up because he's there, but he
wasn't on his man. Rodney sees it at the corner

(01:32:27):
of his eye kind of last second, so he goes
to try to move on Wallace's guy. But guess what
that means? That Rodney's guy is now open and nobody switches.
Nobody says nothing. So guess what happens, lamb steps He's

(01:32:48):
got That happens every night someone leaves their man, someone
else tries to hick up man, they gotta leave theirs,
and nobody says nothing. Chris, give my man, Chris switch, Chris,
you're by yourself, Chris left, Chris right. That's what my

(01:33:12):
teammates do for me when I play. If I'm at
the top of the key forever reason, if my sensor
is all of a sudden John Morant, and I gotta
stay with him and try to stay keep him in
front of me, and people are trying to screen me
off of him or whatever so he can shoot a
shot or whatever, or if he's gonna try to trick
you dribble past me. Chris, you're by yourself, so now
I know I'm gonna give up some space. I'm gonna

(01:33:34):
make him shoot a three. I'm not gonna just let
you blow by me. I'm gonna trip you up to something.
I mean, bound your something. Conda. Don't try it on
me anyway. But see what what does the Hawks do?
The Hawks just say, if you leave your man, I
might try to pick up your man. But if I
do that, you know, I don't really care if nobody

(01:33:56):
picks up my man. I'm gonna leave him wild, though.
But do you want me to show you all this again?
I'll show it to you. He's you know. I know
you can't get away with this because you can't because
the Miami Heat don't do it. Kep Mphis doesn't do it.

(01:34:25):
That's how I know you just pick random teams and
know they don't do it. They don't do it to
the extent the Hawks do it by any stretch of
the imagination, because there's only a few teams that are
at the very bottom in fact, great points given up.
There's only a few teams that are at the bottom
at points in the paint giving up. You see what

(01:34:45):
I'm saying. There's only a few teams at the bottom.
In block shots every game, we're twenty six and blocks, y'all.
We were twenty six in block shots last year. That
means you're not contesting any shots. That's what that means.
We're giving up fourteen threes a game every game or more.

(01:35:06):
I just told you all, we gave up three games
in a row eighteen threes. Twenty three threes. By the way,
the Denver Nuggets did that to us, they shout fifty
six from three. Explain that if Trey Young is the reason,
and Trey Young didn't play, because you can't blame Trey
in the game he didn't play in The Denver Nuggets

(01:35:26):
shot sixty percent from the floor in that game. People,
I showed you that game on around the atl and
you need to go take a look at that one too. Anyway,
next to last shot? Wait man, wait man, wait minute?
Am I missing one? No? I didn't. Fifth shot, fourth quarter.

(01:35:48):
I'm giving these two points to the coaching staff just
for the heck of it. Where is it at? Here?

Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
Go come again?

Speaker 1 (01:36:06):
Six shot? Situational awareness. I talk about that all the time,
right and I forgot mean nobody called in. I hain't
not nobody called in. But it is what it is,
situational awareness. Mohammed Gay could have bumped his man just
a little bit and you'll see what I'm talking about
when I played a clip, just bumped his man a

(01:36:28):
little bit before he went and made a hard contest
to the ball handler. There's ways you can stop an avenue,
by the way, but the fact that you don't know
what's coming is probably more disturbing to me. And again,
Mohammad Gay is only a second year player. But again,
this is where your practice and game film comes into

(01:36:49):
play over a period of time. Right, So I want
you to watch this and just see what I'm saying
when this happens. This is the next to last shot
of the game.

Speaker 3 (01:36:59):
Guys, man, you're cus Miami.

Speaker 5 (01:37:05):
Martian.

Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
Where see this is where a periphial vision comes into
play if he had, if he was using anything periphal wise,
he knows that that guy is behind him. So you
either have a hard commit to try to stop that
ball handler from even trying to pass, because that wasn't

(01:37:27):
a shot. He was passing the whole way. You got
to make that a shot all of a sudden. Well,
if you're not gonna do that, then stop your guy.
You got to do one or the other. But you
can't let that happen. Right, But again, shoot, if everybody
just got down on defense, we wouldn't even have that
last shot of the game. Pretty easy.

Speaker 5 (01:37:49):
Three and watch with three consecutive wins and three straight where.

Speaker 1 (01:37:57):
Punctuation for the slam, everybody blocks out. So once again,
what did I talk about today? As usual, stop the ball,
rotate to the open man lock out, contest the shots,

(01:38:17):
stay with your assignment, talk on defense, get back on defense.
It's a killer theme that for some reason, half of
y'all out there just take it lightly and take it
for granted and it's not a big deal. But I'm like,
but these are the reasons we lose games. These are
the reasons that we lose game after game after game

(01:38:39):
after game, and the numbers dictate that before I started
doing these episodes on around the atl the side Note
episodes a year and a half ago, I was doing
something similar after the game itself, and all I would
do is I would come on Facebook line or I
would go on Twitter and say, here's the points in
the paint that we gave up, Here's how many threes

(01:39:02):
we gave up and percentage shot, here's the second chance
points that we gave up, and here's the fast break
points that we gave up, and inevitably that would be
the reason we lost the game. In the games that
we lost, it hasn't improved season after season after season. Again,
if you change out some of the players, some of

(01:39:22):
it can be mitigated. And again we'll see it when
we actually have a full on game where you got
the start us playing the majority of the minutes and stuff,
and see if we have some decline on some of
this stuff. But it's the element of it that's still
there from last year, and I've not seen the change
at all. Okay, So for this particular game, Trey gave

(01:39:45):
up seven points. In this game, Dyson gave up five points,
Fit gave up twenty five points in this game. People
one person twenty five points. Quinn gave up too before
he was gone because he got hurt. J They gave
up ten points, Kobe three, NAT's ten. I gave four
points to the coaching staff, Garrison twelve, Roddy eleventh, mom

(01:40:08):
At gave Fox flowed him for, and Wallace for. And
one of the things I talked about three shows ago
was sometimes players don't give up a lot of points
in the game because they're just not in the game.
Some players don't give up a lot of points in
the in the game because they're not actually on the
player that they were assigned to initially. They give up
their assignment. Okay, so the other guy scores, it goes

(01:40:31):
to the other player who actually picked them up more
so than not. Right, Sometimes a player doesn't give up
a lot of points because their assignment doesn't take a
lot of shots. Okay, So sometimes you'll see a differentiation
as far as that goes. So again, in this case,
though Bit gave up twenty five points in this game,
he gave up what three threes in this game? Okay?

(01:40:58):
Is any of that acceptable to all? Now? Again, they
give up a lot of points in this game. Will
he give up that many points all the time if
he played, you know, serious minutes. I don't know that.
This game is pretty bad because it was the effort part.
And again that's why I'm getting that. The effort isn't there,
And that's coaching. That's always going to be coaching. You

(01:41:20):
can't just depend on the player to get right. The
coach has to be involved in that. If you can't
get right, why are you on the court. If there's
something wrong, why are you on the court Because you're
giving up twenty five points in this game? Remember the
final score of this game was one twenty. Okay, I'll
go up too far, one to one eleven fit giving

(01:41:44):
up twenty five points in this game. If you just
take out half of those points, the Hawks win this game.
If you cut down on five of the thirteen to
three pointers that the Hawks gave up in this game
that were uncontested, the Hawks win this game. If the
Hawks don't give up sixty two points in the paint

(01:42:06):
and they give up I don't know, forty eight points
in the paint, the Hawks win this game. If the
Hawks don't give up thirty six freaking fast break points
and maybe give up twenty eight fast break points. The
Hawks win this game. You see how that works out,

(01:42:28):
And don't y'all want that fixed. I'm asking. Nobody's answering me,
So I keep asking for someone to tell me something,
tell me something. But I'm telling you and showing you,
because again, I'm not one to just say stuff for
the sake of sake for the sake of saying it.

(01:42:49):
I'm showing what actually happened in the dog gone game.
I'm only dictating exactly what happened during the possession I
throw in there where I would like to have had happen.
What had happened was right, But I can't change that.
I'm not neo from the matrix. I can't go back
and you know nago things. I don't have the artificial
intelligence to do it either. I just want the Hoss

(01:43:13):
to play better. This is not better. You can't compete
like this because inevitably, no matter how long you stay
in the game, these things are the things are going
to beat you at the end. Right. So again, that's
why I say we would be better off starting Trey Young, Dyson,

(01:43:34):
Zach JJ and a Congo is healthy if he's ready
to go, because that gives you the best opportunity to
have some linked on the floor, the ability to switch
a little bit better, be able to maybe rotate a
little bit better, especially as a big, and not let
wide open threes get hit by all the bigs that
can hit threes in the NBA. Right, So I'll mitigated

(01:43:58):
a little bit. You got two guys height, they actually
can get to the ball. So now maybe we'll give
a couple more block shots between Dison and Zachary, hopefully
because Hunter don't block those shots. Right, when is he
ever blocked a shot? His career averages zero points something
on block shots. Samn's on stills. Dyson Daniels is gonna
get you some steals. So you got trade and Dyson

(01:44:19):
getting you some stills. Zachary is gonna walk into some stills.
He got JJ out there and hear the athletic self
out there and okanou block shots galore. I showed y'all
his some of his starts. Let me let me redown
some of your his starts real quick, because some people
don't pay no attention to that. They should. If I
did a whole show on the Kongo, go watch it

(01:44:41):
on around the atl. I gourage you to do that.
But here's a list of some of his starts. Twenty
one points, fifteen rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks,
thirteen points, eight rebounds, three blocks, seventeen points, eight rebounds,
five blocks, eighteen points, thirteen rebounds, three blocks, seventeen points,
eight rebounds, three blocks, sixteen points, twelve rebounds, three blocks,

(01:45:02):
eighteen points, twenty rebounds, four saysts, two steals, four blocks.
We should have that in your starting lineup every night.
He can play post defense, he can move his feet
with quicker people. That's why he gives Janni's fist Joel
Fist cat fist Captain the Eastern Conference. Now Clint can't

(01:45:22):
handle that. O Congo can, though, and he's proved it
before many times, plenty of times. And o Congo can
hit a three straight up from the corner wherever had
he his eighty percent from free throws. Why wouldn't you
want that in your starting lineup rather than ten and eleven,
ten and ten, ten and ten, eleven and two. We'll

(01:45:44):
ten rebounds don't mean a lot, guys, unless you're stopping
everybody on the defensive side, which unfortunately Clint can't do.
He doesn't. He doesn't stop nobody getting a layup. He
doesn't block enough shots in the gates stuff, he doesn't
play good post defense, and he barely plays help defense anymore.
And he can't score on the other side of the court.
Why is he in the fourth quarter at all? He's

(01:46:04):
not a threat. Again, we're playing four on five, and
this is why I say, instead of us playing five
or six on thirteen, six and seven on thirteen, let's
play ten on ten. Finally, the best way to do
that is to have to start lineup as I just
mentioned Trey Dyson, Zach, JJ and Oh and then he

(01:46:26):
got Kobe, who's showing himself he could be ready to
beat the backup. Now you got both and Hunter as
your veterans coming off the bench. They can combine for
twenty five thirty points off the bench nightly is needed.
Then you have Nats as your power forward backup to JJ.

(01:46:47):
I can't trust Mohammed Gay right now, especially on defense.
I trust Nats a lot more because at least he
can rebound. Hey, he can hit a three, and he
can curl to the basket Kobe. Him and Kobe might
make a nice matchup. That's getting up there, and then
you got Clint. If we keep Clint, let Clint come
off the bench and just get all the rebounds. Clint,
your job is to get the rebounds. You get the rebounds,

(01:47:08):
you pass it to your open guy. You do not
try to go and score. Stop it, stop it. Just
get the rebounds. Click can get fifteen rebounds off the bench.
Let him get the rebounds. Let him get twelve defensive
rebounds a game that matters more than the four offensive
rebounds that he gets that he can't put back in

(01:47:29):
because he should be getting sixteen points a game, but
he only gets ten. Still again, he can't hit a jumper.
He can't hit a three. He shot five threes in
ten years. He can't hit it. He's a zero percent
three point shooter. He can't hear free throws. He have
no touch around the basket. So while we keep faking

(01:47:50):
the funk, when we got all these centers in the East,
excuse me, we got all these centers in the East
that destroy us all the time. Let Clint come off
the bench. So now our five coming off the bench,
our second team can go up against the second teams
of others, and we have a much better chance of
what we've been doing with our second team over the

(01:48:11):
last couple of years. You got three veterans. We got
four veterans coming off the bench plus Kobe. That's solid.
And then you got your reserves that you can kind
of pitt in there per the game situation or lineups
and stuff. You got your bits or your garrisons, or
hit a couple of the threes or whatever, or bit

(01:48:32):
can come in there and maybe pass the ball a
little bit if you need to, per injury or whatever.
You got Riot or body that will get you some
good minutes. You got Barlow that'll come in there and
get you some good minutes from time to time or whatever.
Now you're deeper. But if you put Bogie out there,
who plays no defense, is gonna give up seven threes
in the game. No, we can't go through another season
like that, Guys, we can't do that. Hunter who ain't

(01:48:54):
gonna play no defense, and then if it shot ain't
going he can't get to the basketball course because he's
still don't got no hair. I'm sorry. We can't go
through another season like that, and then we don't know
if he's gonna play the whole season. He's never played
seventy games in the season, yet what are we talking about.
Let him come off the back
