Speaker 1 (00:00):
Changeable folks. It's times my five random questions famous, infamous.
I'm not sure I've done over four hundred times or
four hundred people. We love doing this, so as you
know at home, I only tell I don't tell them anything.
They don't know nothing. I ask four random questions related
to them, and then the fifth question in your math.
(00:20):
The fifth question I ask everybody that's the same. I
have Joe McLean his book right here behind me, SIMS
Survivors out now throughout. May twentieth is out. Now, run,
don't walk. Get the book. It's really good. Give me
Blair Underwood. So, Joe McLean, are you ready to do
five random questions?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I'm ready, let's do it, Okay.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
The first question I asked, what's your gucchi?
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Snack food, sugar, anything? Which am I? I am? I
love sweets, chocolate like and if I'm having ice cream,
I want it loaded with all the chocolate stuff. I
want the brownie, I want all of it, Just give it.
I just mainline sugar, please, That's what I want. Yeah,
it's my biggest addiction. It's and I just love it.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
What I love is that some people all come on here,
You're like, well, I like a lettuce leaf or like
an all man here's like sugar. I want it all.
That's the best thing. I love best. Answer number two
is what is one childhood toy that you remember you liked?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Ooh so yeah, I mean listen, I am. I am
the generation that the like the very first like Atarian
Nintendo came out with, so I can't I can't deny that.
But also like I loved the tactile stuff, like you know,
I was an etch sketch kid, you know. And Legos,
the original Legos before they came with an instruction booklet
(01:43):
exactly how to put it together. You got the Legos
and it was just you get ten of this block,
twenty of this block, and ten of these blocks, and
then you make whatever you want.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yeah. I remember that too, yes, And there were way
bigger back then, these little small was I step on
like a I don't know, like they number number three.
If you are going to pick a playlist of music
for like a summer afternoon, who are three people that
(02:15):
will be on that playlist? Musicians?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Okay, so number one, first and foremost is Michael Jackson.
I got my son is named after Michael Jackson. So
he's number one. My wife literally was like, I was like, oh,
so we're gonna name him Michael Jackson and she goes no,
and she she goes, well, we could do Jackson and
I was like, oh, you said.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
It too late, No, Jaxon Jackson.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Michael Jackson is number one. But I will say that
I do really like I mean, listen, he's a songwriter
and a performer. I'm I won't deny being a fan
of Ed Sheeran, but right now, I mean, I don't
know how late to the game I am. I I
do not know the answer. But this guy Wren, he's
(03:00):
a Welsh rapper. He's all over social media right now.
His stuff is unbelievable and he's the only thing on
my current playlist when I'm walking around with my earbuds
in Wren. He's amazing.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I like that. Oh, Michael Jackson, there are four. What
is one thing you would tell a screenwriter, a young
screenwriter today about the process?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I would say, stop worrying so much about your formatting
and getting everything right. Nobody gives a shit. Just write. Yes,
it's a blueprint for a movie. That's sure, Sure, that's
what it is. However, it has to be entertaining to
read as well. It is definitely a blueprint for the movie,
(03:54):
but it has to be something that the development executives
or the people that you're passing it to the producers
that they enjoy reading. So listen when you when you're
turning something into like that. There later on, when it
gets greenlit, they're gonna turn it into a production piece, right,
They're gonna add what they need to to make sure
all the different crews and you know, know where they're
(04:14):
at or what they're doing. That's all gonna be done
later on. Make it entertaining. Make it entertaining.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
You know, it's funny you say that. As as an
interviewer and host I do shows. I always tell people
you can have the flashiest intros, great music outros, but
if the meat potatoes are boring as fuck, yeah, someone's
gonna watch.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Nope, no one cares.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
If you're not a good interviewer, they're not gonna watch.
It's like you have to. You have to have to.
It's like the other stuff is great. It's all dressing
and may it may or may not help you by
you said it may be fine, But I like that advice.
It's just like, get the meat potatoes out. That's what
we're looking for. We can work with everything else.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
No one cares where you wrote fade in on the
page now, it just doesn't just doesn't.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Matter, right, I agree. I like that. That's great advice.
Last question I asked every single person. I always just
chuckle because I'm here. Some your answer is, and it's
it's it's a, it's it's it's you can't no tie,
no both, it's either or.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Okay, okay, so get.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Ready, folks. Joe McClean, apples are oranges apples?
Speaker 2 (05:22):
That I just I don't know why I picked that one,
but that's what came out.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Okay. I like that. I've read the question sends. The
Survivors is out. Now go either go online, kindle her back, hardback,
go back to it. I feel way this book feels
like the way it feels with my skin. We're gonna
get it now. Thank you, thank you,
