Anytime we slide on through, we're you to give you
that work when it comes to professional wrestling business and guys,
it is Wednesday, and you guys know what that means.
(00:51):
That means it is time to get raws. We talk
all things Monday night row right here on the Raw
Deal with how and on Neil. We got a lot
to talk about. I'm really excited about this episode because
we are just off the cusp of a massive wrestling weekend,
and I had to have a conversation with myself about
(01:14):
which one of these shows was my favorite. And it
was a conversation that I had to sincerely have with
myself because there was a lot of great wrestling this
past weekend. I'm definitely gonna tell you which show was
my show of the weekend. But before I do that,
I got to bring on my amazing co host. She's
divinely designed, that is Annie O'Neil. What is up, Annie?
Speaker 3 (01:35):
What's up? Con? I'm still reeling from such an amazing,
intense wrestling weekend and we have so much unpack and
we can only do that here IYH with House O'Neil
and O'Neill in House. Let's go, Let's go, Yes, Yes,
good to be back.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
I was glad to be back and we're able to
do this again, and especially on this day after this weekend,
because just like I teased just a few minutes ago, Household,
I had to have that conversation with myself and I
had to get very serious with myself as far as
which show was the show of the weekend. N XT
Great American Bash was a great, solid show across the board,
(02:16):
then you had a w all in Texas. I'm not
even that big of an ae W watcher, ladies and gentlemen,
but let's face it, great wrestling is great wrestling. And
I sat down there and I watched that show. My
son wanted to watch it because he was excited about
the card, so I said, listen, let's go ahead and
do that. Let's watch both shows. I got one on
(02:37):
the studio computer. I got one on the studio TV
right here behind me. We sat up there and watched wrestling,
and I found myself Annie being more drawn to a
w all in Texas at that moment. And then, of
course Saturday Night may have been happened yet Adi da YadA,
and then Sunday.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Came, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Sunday, Sunday Sunday came, and we said this on the
Sunday House Party because of what I feel like was
just a subpar, below average Saturday Saturday Night main event
and the targeting it felt like WW was doing to
try to counter program AEW for that weekend with the
(03:23):
Saturday Night main event. An ad ridden just messed to me.
Then losing seth Rollins through injury. Then having to deal
with the Goldberg situation. We all found ourselves kind of
seeing the same thing is that there's a lot of
pressure on the women of WWE shoulders to deliver and
(03:46):
save this weekend NXT Great American Bash was cool. Don't
get me wrong. It was great, good show, solid show.
But then we got to Saturday main event, and we
were just throwing up all over ourselves. It looked like
it looked like WW was throwing up all over themselves
as well. But then once again, like I said, Sunday
came and these women delivered one of the best shows
(04:10):
of the entire year, the all women's pay per view Evolution.
We haven't done it since twenty eighteen. We're gonna be
really talking about this show mainly, we'll talk a little
bit about Monday Night Row. Don't get me wrong, ladies
and gentlemen, this is the raw deal. But man, I'm
definitely gonna get all my stuff out there. As they
say in the business, I'm gonna get all my shit
in here. But you, Annie, I gotta get your thoughts
(04:34):
overall about the evolution. Pl E.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
This past Sunday, the Evolution Revolution stood and it delivered.
I saw so many negative comments about selling about there
wasn't enough promotion, there wasn't this, there wasn't this, Just
so much laid upon the show of these women who
(05:01):
are already feeling so much pressure because who what other
huge wrestling company does all women's pay per view. Then
the first time in seven years, and we saw the
upwards trending of women's wrestling in w W in the
(05:22):
over the last year. We really really did. And they
delivered through every match, you know, and it we went
on a ride from the very beginning to the very end,
and you each woman they were passionate, they were skilled,
(05:44):
they were charismatic, and you know, even through the the
predictable match, still gave an outstanding performance and showed and
even like they they captivated on the spotlight that they
knew that they truly deserved. And it was so awesome
(06:06):
that the legends of the past were also featured, because
we have to acknowledge where we were and who opened
the door so that these women can have the spotlight
that they truly deserve. And it it was for me,
it was a very emotional experience. You know, I've time
(06:27):
and time again, I've only I've been the only woman
in a locker room, and it comes with a lot,
you know, like all eyes are on you, how are you?
How are you going to react? How are you going
to respond?
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yep, And you know.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
It comes with a certain stigma and it's undeniable. You
have to check the emotions, you have to check the
the preconceived notions about you, and you have to go
out there and perform no matter what. And that is
sometimes it can be very crueling, and you know, being
(07:08):
underrepresented and in a group full of people who probably
don't expect much from you, and like you know, women's wrestlings,
which is just wrestling now by the way, and have
to have certain qualifiers anymore. And it's moments like this
that really really hone that in. But we're working on that,
(07:31):
we're working on. We're still there's still progress that needs
to be made. But from being just novelty matches and
featured in bras and panties matches to be shocased as
full fledged athletes. What a time for women in this business.
And it's exciting. It's so damn exciting and I'm so
(07:56):
proud of these women and everyone. I'm getting emotional just
talking about it, Like, oh, it's just seeing women get
what they truly deserve. It's it's so gratifying because not
only did they they etch themselves in the spotlight where
(08:16):
they deserve, they opened a new door for the generation
to follow and that they won't have to face the
same pressures as they want to have. And and it's cyclical,
and we began a news cycle. Yeah on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah no, you you guys absolutely did what. I mean,
everything that you're saying is so true. Dispute none of that,
It just it. It's all facts here. And like with
everything that these women had to deal with to put
on a show like that, it's just beautiful. I mean
it is just beautiful.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
And looking at this card across the board, just just thinking,
uh some things. And you know what, I gotta say this,
I think I was as far as the matches go,
I was. We did our we did our predictions, and
I think I only got like one match right.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Same.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
But I'm okay, Like I'm okay because this match was
I mean, this this card that is was incredible from
Tiffany Stratton and trist Stratus, who who was a match
that that many people, including myself, didn't really look forward to.
They still delivered. From seeing the development of Alexa Bliss
(09:31):
and Charlotte Flair, who, by the way, are making me
fall in love with them all over again, and seeing
the barrage of offense that Charlotte Flair delivered during that
fatal four way tag team match. He just made me
remember that Charlotte is a damn beast. She got over
organically with the crowd. That was a great moment. We're
gonna break all this down for sure. I became a
huge fan of ja C. Jane didn't really know much
(09:54):
about Jason. Jane got a chance to sit down and
watch her for the first time, watch one of her matches.
Not only is she super solid in the ring, she
doesn't waste a motion in that ring, she doesn't mean everything.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Huge breakout performance for her. I didn't expect her to
retain I really didn't. I feel like it was going
to be the moment where uh the title would change
hands to Jordan. And granted that's gonna come a little
bit uh further down the line, but that moment really
set up uh catastrophic turn for miss Blake Monroe.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Oh yeah, and and and you know what Kevin said
it on Window liquors our raw reshow, which he was
as far as Monday Night raw goes. He was a
picture perfect he called it all. But uh, you know
he was saying that that uh Blake Monroe. When they
come in, they had she works way better as a heel,
(10:49):
but because she was a new signing, Uh, they had
to bring her in his baby face, and then they
quickly went ahead and flipped the switch and turned a
heel because they understand that she does do batter her
as a heel. I thought that that worked perfectly. I
think that because of the role that she plays, and
she does play better as a heel, it was smart
to turn her quickly. J C. James's title ring continues
(11:11):
and Jordan Grace continues to chase. But now she's got
a little side quest going on because I don't know
if you saw that video after that match that she
had had, but it looked like Jordan Grace was about
to crash out.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Yes, and someone who is that small but large at
the same time, like she is a true paradox.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Yeah, like she like she.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Was going to uh siphon the power from the core
of the universe and use it to smite Blake Monroe
Like that, that's true power. She really embodied the Juggernaut persona.
And that moment did you see she was unpacking like
(11:54):
what she was doing? H and what happened for her
before evolution? Did you see that her the color of
her boots were incorrect? Yes? Yes, So she had to
go to like I don't know, like Walmart and get
like paint and nail polish and she she repainted the
(12:15):
true color of her gear because it was wrong.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Yeah, So like what dedication she has to making sure
that she is completely flawless, like perfect execution. And you know,
I feel like, I'm not sure how many other women,
you know they they take the time to personalize their
gear like that. Yeah, but Jordan Gray is she really
(12:41):
she really sent home on that one. So that was
something that was really really really cool because she was
she was like, uh, I gotta fix this, I gotta
fix this, and the like in the eleventh hour was
she was she really ready to complete such a great task.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Man, this this night was just this night was just
so great, like all together. Of course, we had Jake
Cargyle getting her victory over Naomi in a really great
no hoos Bard match that I think really did elevate
Jade Cargle. And then of course the main event. We're
gonna talk about the main event for sure, but real quick,
I want to go back to this fatal four way
(13:20):
tag team match. This match was really good and I
want to get some of your thoughts because Charlotte Flair
has been such a topic of conversation. She's whether you
love her, whether you hate her, it's always hot button
with her. I gotta say I came out of Evolution
ready ready to give Charlotte Flair all of my money.
(13:43):
I mean I really did, and I was in a
such a weird place with her when she returned earlier
this year, and then boom, she jumps right back into
another title opportunity. But man, once again, like I said
a little bit earlier, like the barrage of often she
had when the hot tag came the was insanely hot
for her. They popped back. I haven't seen Charlotte Flair
(14:03):
get a pop like that in a long time. And
like she went for like three four five straight minutes
of just grinding it out and hitting everybody with a
boot here and a spear there and a chop there,
and then I'm just like, this woman is an absolute machine.
She's a unit. And like then the little storytelling they
had where she saved Alexa from the spear so good,
(14:26):
just so good a moment. Man, they are really positioning
Charlotte in a way to where I can really love
this tag team. But I want to get your thoughts.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
It was so different when Charlotte Flair came out and
her being naturally embraced by those in the crowd because
it was so different around many a season. Yeah, and
you know, really taking that time to listen and a
lot like taking a step back, because that is some
(15:00):
times that's a blow to the ego. It really is,
you know, like when people don't like you and they
don't want to see you succeed. But taking the time
to step back and really taking that mental evaluation and
and it's a huge, huge, you know, huge credit to
(15:23):
Charlotte Flair because this is you know, we can see
the heart the humanity and that was that was how
she led when she came out, Like this is a
different form of Charlotte Flair that, like you said, we
haven't seen in a really long time, and it was
so awesome, you know, like and such an unlikely ring
(15:51):
between she and Alexa Bliss was just so awesome, Like
when when Charlotte came out and I love I love
her the gear that she had, she but she was
she was soft and feminine but still powerful. Yeah, and
that those are difficult things to embody all at once,
but she did it so skillfully. And and then when
(16:14):
she came out with Alexa and then she raised her
her sleeve and in front of Alexa's face, and then
Alexa was like, not bitch, and she threw lily back
at Charlotte and she was just disgusted. Like it was
like big sister and little sister. Yeah, Like that was
the dynamic that I saw and that that was really
(16:38):
like those small moments, they may be small, but they're
so impactful.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
And at the end when when Charlotte saved Alexa from
that spear, like that was it was just such a
change of character, like this is my friend and I'm
going to put I'm gonna save her out of harm's way,
and like just the exchange that they had, the pure
emotion and the connection that they had between the two,
(17:06):
it was it was really really really cool, And that
was one of the moments where what I actually remembered
from Evolution the most. And I like this new wavelength
that we're seeing from Charlotte Flair. And you know what,
if they were to gain some tag titles in the
(17:27):
near future, I want to be mad at it.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Me neither, because I'm loving this team. We got our
guy voice in here. I love this comment here he
said she would like she pulled the team to turn
moment a strong, powerful woman just doing what made us
love them one couldn't. Yeah, great, great point. I definitely
agree with that. I mean, I'm loving what I'm seeing
(17:50):
in this development is Charlotte Flair. It's just great. But
also I want to go to this women's inner kind
of championship triple threat match because this was a great,
great match. But let's talk about they talked a little
bit once again. They talked a little bit about it
on the Window Lickuers, which I listened to that episode
today of what they did. Great episode. If you guys
can go back and check it out on our YouTube.
(18:12):
You can listen to it now. It's available on Apple
Podcasts and Spotify. Check out everything Kevin Callaway, the Voice,
Josh Joseph, and grandmaster're talking about It was a great listen,
but man, that pen by Becky Lynch was smooth, smooth man, Like, oh.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
My god, what a steal like you We thought that
Lyra had it and no was it was it Lyra? Yeah,
it was Lyra who almost had it in the bag.
Then out comes Becky and swipes that moment for her,
(18:48):
and I feel like it added even more to this
Bailey heel turn that I think is coming because I
think she girl is on the down and out and
I think I love heal Bailey. It's one of them,
and I really feel like we need to step away
from the role model persona. It feels a little.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
A little stamp, like I need.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
Something more from her right now, and man, I really
I just want to call to mind, like how much
of a work course that Bailey.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Is, Oh my god, for sure.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Crazy like she she's been on every show flying overseas,
and just how much she pushes her her friends like offscreen.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Too, like oh yeah she does.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
She's a woman's woman.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
I love me, I love me some Bailey because, like
I said on the show before, she just seems like
it's her world and we're all living in it. Like
she just does these awesome things like it's no problem
for her to show up on the Red carpet, or
it's no problem for her to show up at a
NBA Celebrity All Star Game. It's no problem for her
to show up to New Japan Pro Wrestling and support
(20:06):
her best friend Mercedes Monnet. These are just things that
Bailey does. I agree that the role model character a
little dated, maybe something fresh, but as we all know
and have known for years, it's all there with Bailey.
She is her mindset, her the way she wrestles, but
(20:26):
mainly her mindset because this is this is a woman
of female that if you give her anything, she's gonna
make it work. She's gonna make it work. Whether she's
a tag team champion with her best friend Sashah Banks,
whether she's hugging, whether she's the role model, whether she's
you know ding Dong, Hello and you or anything like that, Bailey,
or whether she's, like Voyce said, bringing together a coalition
(20:49):
of women in damage control to come together and run
rough shot over the WWE. Bailey has done and has
proven that she will do and make the best out
of anything.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
I think she posted on Instagram that where they where
evolution was in Atlanta. That was the same building which
in which damage Control fell out. Oh so, like I
feel like when people make certain mentions of things like that,
and you know, after a serious disappointment that she faced
(21:21):
an evolution, I think it has the makings of a
hill turn. I'm just saying you heard it here first
on the Raw Deal.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Hey, I wouldn't be mad at it. Fresh, you know,
freshen her up and whatnot, and give her a different vibe.
It's like our guy voice is saying here, she always
cashes in those five minutes. Five minutes to take your opportunity.
And uh, we talked a little bit more than five
minutes about that match, but we want to move on
to another match and that's a no holds barred match
(21:50):
with special guests referee Bianca Bella, Jay Cargo, and Naomi. Now,
I got to say when we did this episode, I said,
I said, oh, Jake car was gonna win. And then
on the Sunday House Party, because so we did a
Sunday House Party before Evolution, I switched and I said, oh,
I think Naomi's gonna win because I think that Biancle
(22:11):
bell Air is gonna turn heel. So I thought I
was all in thinking that biancle Beller was go turned heels,
gonna see something different, and then they went how it
went we will talk about in a minute. We'll talk
about what happened with Naomi at the end of the show,
but let's stay here with the no holds bar match.
Where was you at with that match?
Speaker 3 (22:31):
You know, I really feel like Jade needed this win
and going into summer Slim. I think that it's gonna
set her up huge for when we get there. I
remember I was watching with Kevin and I think it
was uh was it Naomi? Yeah? She she went inside
the trash can and I'm like, no, that's el Sky's
(22:51):
trash cans. I'm like, yeah, like come on, no, Like
we've we've seen eo uh put on many crazy ass
things going inside of a trash can. But I mean,
you know, I feel like, uh, this is exactly what
it needed to be. It wasn't anything that was too
(23:15):
too complicated or convoluted. I think it was pretty straightforward,
and besides the match with Tiffany Stratton and Tris Stratus,
this was one of the ones that were was more
predictable to me. But and you know, after Naomi lost
that match. I thought that was going to be the
(23:36):
last that we saw.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Yeah, did it?
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Did it feel like a blowoff match to you?
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yes? I do, because now that she's on Raw, I
think they and once again I'm just kind of like
echoing what they're saying on window. At this point, this
was Kevin, I think they're going to keep them away
from each other, And I heard that thought that he
had said, and I wanted to add to it and
and say, this is a good it away for these
(24:01):
two to get away from each other. But when they
do come back together, the feud is still there. You
know what I'm.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Saying, That blood doesn't go anywhere.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Exactly this, there's still unresolved issues. So yeah, she's gonna
do her thing Unwraw and Jade's gonna now turn her
attention to her match against Tiffany at at SummerSlam. But
when they do, when that time comes, when that moment comes,
when these two have to head face to face or
whatever circumstances that might be, the beef is still there
(24:31):
and the smoke is gonna last forever.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
I agree with a voice in the chat here, this
was one of the best matches of that Jade has
had in w W as so far and yeah, she
can absolutely handle emotion and she did what she said
what she was going to do. And I thought, this
is the best that Jade has looked thus far.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Which he needed to lead to SummerSlam.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
You really really really did you know? There, Jade's gonna
face uh criticism no matter what. She She's almost perfect,
like and people really hate perfect people, and you know, God, to.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Your point, to your point, it's it's almost like you
were saying, I always this always stuck with me when
you when you were you know, you were on the
fence with Library Valk, Carrie, and now we're saying a
grittier lyar rack. Carrey. You said that that the valid
you know, the Valatorian becomes the burnout, you know, And
and it's that's the same thing with Jay. Jade is
(25:36):
such a clean, perfect, you know, you know, polished looking talent.
We we we want to see the crash out, you
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
And she did it. She did it well, she.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Did, she absolutely did.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
And I feel like this is a huge success leading
into SummerSlam, which I already can't believe it's almost here.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
I know, that's crazy. We're only a couple of weeks away,
but once again, that match was great, and you said
it earlier. He was like, I thought this was the
last we're going to see of Naomi, and that was
just not the case because in the main event, which was,
my god, one of the best matches that I've ever like,
it's not even an exaggeration at this point, like what
(26:23):
EO Sky and rear Ripley did together was magic.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
I mean five star match.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Yeah, yeah, I would by the end of the match.
I'm not even gonna lie to you any By the
end of the match, if Naomi hadn'ty came out in
the mood of concluded in a pinfall, I probably would
have been in tears myself because that match was masterful, master.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Like just like EO week in and week out. Even
though her like the second title reign since she's she
won it back, hasn't been the best push, it doesn't matter.
You will always get a near perfect match out of
EO freaking skye.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
One of the best wrestlers on the planet.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Really is like definite future Hall of Famer when that
time comes, Like she is dedicated to her craft and
you know she she just has this bright vibrant spirit
that's just so captivating and you just can't help but
love her give it like and you know, sometimes you
(27:35):
can't out wrestle best the subpar booking. You can't, but like,
she shows up and she shows out and it doesn't
matter what is booked for her that night, she will excel.
And I just think, like it's just amazing, and week
in and week out, I could watch Eo and Riha
time in and time again.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
You know what's so crazy is that because they've wrestled
so much, I I was not like super excited for
this match. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
I understand, but you know.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
It's it's like voices saying here He's saying he needs
this rivalry. He never wants Rhea to win until the
last time they danced. It's such a great story being
told when they face each other. That right there, that's
why I that's why I now if I see real
Ripley and EO Sky in any capacity on the card,
(28:33):
I will you will never never hear me say, oh man,
EO Sky is about to face rear Ripley again. No no, no, no, no,
I know what I'm about to see is absolute magic
and it's it's it's becoming similar to like what we
saw on ae w all in. You know when we
saw Okata and Omega five and that match was great.
(28:55):
Now we can say, you know, oh, when are we
gonna be ready for Ria and EO six Orrio and
EO seven. This is an all time rivalry right now.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
And Io and Rhea still didn't pin EO sky And
how beautiful because you know what we have, we have
an automatic something that's built in. Yeah, when that we
we circle back to that because it has to happen.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
But I'm sorry, go ahead ahead.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
No, but that moment when we heard Naomi's music, I
lost my shit. We just saw a five star match
go on between two women just beating the ever living
crap out of each other, and they went what maybe
(29:49):
fifteen to twenty minutes? Oh yeah, and they are both
exhausted and tired, and like we were ready for that
three count and then Miss Money in the bank cashes in. Crazy,
What a crazy moment. I expected it to happen, but
(30:10):
I didn't expect it to happen at Evolution.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
You know, it's crazy because I put out a post
or I basically said that that Naomi went left when
everybody expected her to go right. And the reason that
I say that is because we all expected her to
get involved in Tiffany and Jade's business, because of the
(30:34):
you know she first of all, it was it felt
like the writing was on the wall. She's on SmackDown.
Jade has a future women's championship opportunity at SummerSlam. Wouldn't
it be the ultimate f you from Naomi to Jade
if Jade actually won the title and then she cashed
in on Jade. That's an easy digestible story, and you
(30:56):
know that's great. Don't get me wrong. That was predictable exactly,
the fact that they went in a completely different direction.
And this is what Naomi's I don't want to say
it's weird to say gimmick because what she's done is
just been so organic, but like this is hermo now, right,
is like you don't know what she's gonna do, You
don't know what her next move is. She's unpredictable and she.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Said it and she did it, which I love. You
don't know when, we don't know the time, we don't
know the hour, but you better proceed with caution and
she stood on that most definitely.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
I love the little touch that she made the match
a triple threat match so that way she can use
the briefcase legally as a weapon. I love that touch.
It's little things like that that stick out so much
to me that she thought that she thought enough to
be like, oh, well, let's make it a triple threat,
because guess what triple threats are, no DQ. It was
just a brilliant little Just that little touch for me
(31:53):
was brilliant.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
And it was so skillful because you know, she's really
living up to what she said she was going to do,
and you have no choice but to take her seriously now,
which you always And in one thing that really stuck
with me, in her opening promo on Raw, she was like,
y'all didn't feel the glow, but you're feeling me now.
(32:16):
And I gave her a standing ovation for that. I
cheered for her because I remember a couple of years
ago when she was a tag team champion with Miss
Sasha Banks, and the whole world criticized that woman for
standing on her business and for leaving an You know,
(32:40):
she saw her value elsewhere, and look where she's at now.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Crazy.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
It's funny how the tables turn, isn't it don't they Cohn?
Because they really do, because you know, correct me if
I'm wrong. But when and Cody Rhodes left to join
a different, different company, do you think he were he
received the same amount of criticism as Naomi did.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
No. No, I mean it's it was. It's it's such
an odd thing because it's like everybody was like, oh,
you need to go out and need to embrace you know,
because at that time everybody was doing it. They was
going on the indies to try to raise their stock
and everything. Yeah, and then the circumstances and everything with
Naomi and Sasha Banks, but still was like it wasn't like, oh,
(33:36):
you should go out there and try to see what
your worf is like, Oh, no, you should stay you know,
where you're at and take what you're giving, because you know,
in the grass ain't always greener on the other side.
And I'm a firm believer that you know, the grass
is greener where you water it, you know. And I
just think that Naomi, you know, took that opportunity. Uh
(33:57):
And and man, she became such a staple on TNA
for the time that she was there. She did and
came back to the company and was just ready to go.
And like, I respect the way she came back because
she came back there was no fanfare, huge this and that.
We all looked at Naomi as like, hey, yeah, Naomi, yo,
the fun could actol and this and that, like she's solid,
(34:19):
she's great, she's entertaining. Oh, we feel the glow. She's
a great like lower mid Carter act. We don't see
her no no, no, no, no no no. I can
tell you now that after that cash in and I'll
say this fightings, I want to make sure I see
your chat there, buddy. I keep wondering if they cashed
in with Naomi too quick, will she be able to
hold the belt against singles and singles matches against top women. Now,
(34:42):
if you heard that pop, if you heard that reaction,
if you heard how they reacted her on Monday, they
made the right move. That move was solid. It was
a great move to have her cash in at the
time she did. Because when Naomi cashed in what she
was gonna do on Monday night Row became must watch TV,
came one of the most anticipated things. And then when
(35:02):
her music hit to begin in the show, everybody was
off their seat, eyes glued to the TV. What's she
gonna say? Why did she make this decision to do this?
And I gotta tell you, man, I haven't heard anybody
get called a raggedy hefen and wrestling in a long
long time. That was amazing.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
I busted out laughing because there is world class talent
watching and Naomi called all of them raggedy hefa's. I
loved it. It was great.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
It's the funniest thing ever.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
And I love like she's such an interesting heel because
like you want to like her. She is that girl
you just want to give your your love to and
she's like.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Nah, no, no, no, keep that to yourself. Absolutely loved
how she shut it all down.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
You know, I just have to point out double standard
that I see just because I'm on this tangent. So
why is it that Cody Cody can leave and he
is standing on his business, but when Naomi left, she
was ungrateful.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
That's a good question, I know. And here's the thing.
I remember that time, this was like maybe two years ago,
and like when that happened and we talked about it
here on the show, there was a there was a belief.
I'm not saying this is the truth that would never show.
I'm just saying there was a belief that when they
left the company, it was mainly Sasha and Naomi was
(36:35):
just kind of following suit, like she was just like, Oh,
I'm doing what you're doing without real rhythm, rhyme or reason.
But you know, we learned later that she did have
her reasons and she did have her frustrations, you know
what I'm saying. Like it's always tough when you walk
out when you're still under contract, you know what I'm saying.
So people are always going to have an opinion on that,
(36:56):
But like she had always deserved a chance to be
on herself. And honestly, I think that Naomi is a
WWE girl, Like I think absolutely, Like I think that
her goal was always to be there. Like I think
her goal was always to be there. But just like
(37:17):
anybody else, like when they don't see what your value
is or they don't see like you see, you see
value in yourself that you wish they would see, you
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
And that's something that you can only prove. You know,
it's proven with action, just because you have this inherent
ability or this inherent understanding. You know who you are,
but no one outside of you is going to know
that until you take those those opportunities and you throw
yourself into the deep end and you come out stronger
(37:50):
for it. Yeah, and who knows had Naomi not given
back the titles and walked out, who knows if she
would be here now in the exact position she is in.
Sometimes we have to know our value inherently before the outworld,
the outworld sees it.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
I agree, I knew exactly where you're going with that,
and like that's the that's the thing right there, is
like are you brave enough to bet on yourself? Because
a lot of people, a lot of people aren't brave
enough to bet on themselves, you know, Like I think,
I think when uh once again, like I said, when
(38:33):
that time happened, when that situation happened a couple of
years ago, there was a lot of mainly a lot
of fingers were getting pointed at Sasha Banks at that time,
now known as Mercedes Monette, and it seemed like that
once again, that that Naomi was just following suit. So
she kind of fell under that radar a little bit.
And until you know that she was able to go
and do her own thing at you know as Trinity
(38:56):
uh and and TNA and and maybe take some indie books.
I don't I think she took too many, like other
indie bookings. Besides, she really working the DNA. But man,
just a trajectory change like that she has now and
the character work is incredible, and what she's doing and
even the time when she was feeling the glow and
came back and she was like, you know, I'm waiting
(39:18):
my turn. I'm helping elevate other talents until I have
this opportunity to grow and tell this story about myself.
She waited, she was patient, she was diligent. She had
an idea because I tell you this whole proceed with caution. Stuff.
Ain't no way that just happened a week before she
turned hell where I thought she's had that in her mind
for a while, because it's too well put together, it's
(39:39):
too well thought out, like it's everything she's doing right
now is incredible. And you have to talk about Naomi
not just as a good hand or upper mid carter.
This is not just a main eventor this is a
top level talent. She is now, in my mind, a top.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Girl, someone who's truly risen through the ranks. Because moving
from Funkodactyl, which I still loved, I remember that, I
love I loved it. That's when I the around the
time where and I actually started watching wrestling, so I remember,
and moving into the title picture, not many people can close.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
That gap, right, oh, man, Like she went from a
backup dancer to a three time w W Women's champion.
That's listen. If you if you don't find inspiration or
pull some type of motivvation from that, you need to
check your heartbeat. Because Naomi is just a testament to
(40:45):
hard work, to staying diligent, to patience. Everything that she's
done and the way she's carried herself in you know,
as she's been doing it, it's masterful. I love to
see her in this spot. Evolution was an absolutely amazing
show top to bottom, and I'm just glad I got
a chance to sit down and enjoy history in one
(41:07):
of the greatest shows of the year.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
And like and just calling back to it, that Spanish
fly that EO. Sky gave to Rhea Ripley off the
top rope, it's still steered into my brain. It's Oh,
these women are insane. They have heart and man, just
(41:29):
hearing hearing Naomi's music and her she hitting that split
leged moon salt. Yeah, we're gonna be talking about this
for years to come.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Or sure, absolutely absolutely, I agree with you there, Annie,
and Uh, we're gonna continue this going because we still
got to talk a little Monday Night Raw. A lot
to talk about there. But before we do that, we're
gonna take a little break, a little water break here
for about a mint, and then when we come back,
(42:01):
myself and the amazing Annie O'Neill, we're gonna talk all
things Monday Night Raw. Welcome back, guys to in your house.
(43:13):
We have already had a great episode, y'all. We've been
talking a whole lot of evolution, and I was happy
to talk about it. I mean that show, I'll tell y'all,
ladies and gentlemen, I was. I was ready to come
into the rod Deal today, ready to talk all things evolution.
And I'm glad I got a chance to get all
that off my chest because it was an amazing show
and I just really really enjoyed it. That's one of
(43:36):
the shows that I would go back and watch again. Well,
I watched it. I'll say it. I didn't even get
a chance to tell you this, Anny Begainning. I'm not
trying to get you our emotional or nothing like that.
I'm not saying I'm always trying, but you know, it
was just cool for me personally to sit down and
watch it with my seven year old daughter, who's a
fan of wrestling. You know, that was that was the
(43:59):
show to watch with her, you know.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
And you know, like when we're young, it's important to
see people who have similar life experiences to us in
powerful positions because that's what you rely on through through
the really hard times, because what did they face in
order to get there? What did they endure in order
(44:23):
to hang on to these amazing positions, Like there were
so many different women who were showcased in moments that
they truly deserve, because like you've been a part of
this business for a long time, you know how grueling,
how emotional, how treacherous it can be. And you know,
(44:48):
people come and go. There are people I met from
day one who are no longer around. But you know what,
it's a testament. It's a blessing to be here after
so long and after so much has changed. You know,
I I remember you know, for so long, like all
I did was ring crew. I just showed up and
(45:10):
I helped for the love of the game and just
being treated a certain way because this is this is
my human suit, and this is my outward representation in
the world. And just to see these women just win
or lose, they made history and it was just so
(45:33):
exciting and so it felt gratifying. Yeah, because you know,
like women like Naomi, I appreciate and I want the
absolute best war and I can only imagine how much
she has dealt with behind the scenes, and for her
(45:57):
to have the moment of a lifetime, it's just incredible.
And it better not be another seven damn years.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, for sure, Kelly standing out, Then
run this thing Yearly, do it in September, do it
in October, do it whenever you guys have a slower
because like they don't do much in September, you know
what October. I think one year they did Fast Lane,
then another year they did Bad Blood. Just lock in Evolution.
(46:27):
Give me that Yearly, I need that in my veins.
That show was absolutely great. But now we move from
what was once again, in my opinion, one of the
best shows of the entire year for Revolution. We now
look ahead towards SummerSlam. We had Monday Night Raw. We
already talked a little bit about that opening promo that
(46:50):
set up a triple threat match between Naomi rear Ripley
and EO Sky at Summer Slam. That match is going
to be fun, for sure. A lot of building went
on during this Monday Night Raw Rock Sanne.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Oh my god, oh yeah. Yeah. Adam Pierce his intact
congratulations no longer non vertebrate. I love this. I love it.
This you go, Adam Pierce.
Speaker 2 (47:23):
Pearce is doing his thing. Man, Yeah, I gotta but
I gotta tell you though. I gotta tell you though.
We were just talking about Evolution, how great that was,
and how I'm so happy to say like that women's
wrestling is just on a different stratosphere right now. I mean,
we know that, we've talked about it. We've got that
(47:44):
out there for them to follow up the next night
and do this best two out of three falls match
for a number one contendership for the Icy title between
Lyra Val Carrie and Bailey. That match was incredible. It
was my match of the night, my match of the
night by far. I want to ask you this because
you enjoyed the match, and you've had a lot of
(48:04):
different thoughts about Lyra Valcarria, and we've I think, like,
I keep bringing it up because I keep checking in
with you, because I'm like, where you where you at
with Lyra now? Because you know, I love Lyral carry
I'm a huge fan of her. I enjoy her work,
so I just keep taking the temperature. So I'm going
to keep taking that temperature. Where are you at currently
with Lyra Valcaria? She is.
Speaker 3 (48:31):
On the fast trajectory to being one of the heavy
hitters on Raw. For me, she is consistent, she's passionate,
and she is heavily benefiting from being placed beside not
only Bailey, but Becky Lynch. And you know, I enjoyed
(48:52):
the Lyra and Becky feud, but this too out of
our Yeah, the out of three falls match. Yes, setting
up this match for at SummerSlam easily gonna be one
of the best matches on that card.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
Man like not to interrupt, but I'm just like, go ahead,
how many different like iterations are we going to see
between these three women? And it's still like be a
home run? You know what I'm saying like, I enjoy
watching whatever version of these three women singles triple with
there at whatever, I enjoy watching them wrestle.
Speaker 3 (49:33):
And man Bailey can pull up except with Nia Jax.
You know how I feel about the matchup between Nia
Jacks and Bailey. Besides that we're gonna move on because
I'm just getting getting emotional about it. Bailey can pull
a great match out of anyone, and I feel like
(49:56):
I feel like Lyra she will follow the same suit.
There was a gut wretch set up power bomb that
Lyra hit and it was high and tight. Oh my god,
it sucked the breath out of my lungs. I'm like,
is Bailey okay? Because that looked horrendous. It looked brutal
(50:19):
from Lyra, but Bailey. I wasn't sure if if Bailey
was gonna walk up, get up and be the same
person afterwards.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
Yo. One thing about Lyra Valcaria is that she's not
a big woman in stature, but she delivers moves with
such impact and intensity.
Speaker 3 (50:39):
And you know, like, I have to call to mind
how much Lyra has really invested in her outward appearance. Uh,
since she she won Queen of the Ring last year, right.
Speaker 2 (50:54):
And no, she came up short and queen the ring.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
It was Nihil came up Yeah, yeah it was.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
He was final.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
But she has put on muscle, she has become even
more of who she was, and like there were a
couple moments during this match on Monday Night, Raw, I'm like,
she's completely ripped. Like, like you said, she's not the biggest,
She's not the biggest person on the card because obviously
we have eyes we can see. But man, she's quickly
(51:24):
coming in too, becoming a tiny baby hulk, which I love.
I absolutely love women who who there is more than
meets the eye, and that's a huge weapon that they
can use to their advantage because I kind of feel
like I am. I'm the same way, Like there's so
(51:45):
much more than what your eyes perceive, and I'm used
to being underestimated, but when I know that, I use
it against that person and I use that to my benefit.
I feel like Lyra Valkyria is quickly becoming something along
the same lines, which I love.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Yeah, I'm ready to ride the Lyra Val carry a train.
For a while, I've been thinking this for a while.
I haven't said it out loud, but I think I'm
ready to say it on this podcast. I do believe
that twenty twenty six, Lyra val Carrier will be a
women's world champion.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
I agree with you, and I appreciate that she she's
been how she's been booked, she's coming into her own organically.
She's not being she's not being force fed to us. Nope,
and that like we don't want to embrace her at all.
(52:45):
There was a really nasty fisherman suplex that that Lyra
gave and on the apron and it it was it
was disgusting. It was absolutely disgusting. Ugh, Like I'm I
already have like so much anxiety, but when people do
(53:06):
moves on the apron like.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
Easily bad look, it always looks more devastating.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
I'm like, you have you have like half a foot
of room? Yeah, to do these this crazy shit like
could have been me more power to you. But she doesn't.
She does it well.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
Yeah, I'm such a huge fan of Liar Rock here.
I just love her ability and everything that I'm seeing
for her as far as her character development. So that
that's been that's been really great. This Monday Night Raw
once again, we're moving towards uh, We're moving towards Summer
Slam here, well, we didn't mention when it came to
(53:47):
evolution was the Battle Royal that happened there and we
had our winner, Stephanievacer. That was the one match I
got right. But we had Nikki Bella and she defeated.
Then the Secret Hervist came and and and did their thing,
which I love the Secret Hervist. I've talked about it
many times.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
I love Chelsea Green. She's one of my absolute favorites. Yes,
whatever the female equivalent to our truth in that comedic spot,
hands down, it's Chelsea Evingreen.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Yeah, I just love the I I love the dynamics
of Chelsea and her Secret Hervist and like it's my
son brought the question. He was like, he was like,
why why is she still doing a presidential gimmick when
she's not the US champion? And I'm like, because it's
the United States and Chelsea Green, what do you mean
(54:42):
it's still like just because she doesn't have the title
means that there's no United States of Chelsea Green anymore?
Still a thing?
Speaker 3 (54:48):
Right, We're still united under Chelsea Green, which we need
her more now than ever. Okay, we really do and
it's even funnier that she's Canadian. It's funny, it's entertaining,
and I love it. I love it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
It's crazy because I think both members of her Secret
Harvests are both from Scotland.
Speaker 3 (55:12):
Yeah they are, they really are. No one is American
group which is and it's a president It's like an
American presidential gaming.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
It's hilarious. I love it is. We got a voice
in the chatty saying she's definitely more entertaining than Ivy.
Now she's very one dimensional as far as Ivy Nile goes.
I still want to see where they're gonna go with
her as the lead because now she's like the you know,
group leader of American Maid with with Chad Gable, with
(55:45):
Chad Gable out on injury, and they're still running this
thing with El Grande Americano. And yet again that's cool,
Like I'm not taking anything away from that, but I
want to zero one on Ivy now for a quick second,
is that I do believe that this role that they're
putting on her, they want her to be the front
person of the group. They want her to be the mouthpiece.
I think they're really testing her because I think that
(56:06):
her and and the powers that be hear what they're
saying about her, about her being a little bit like
like she's she's just not very expressive, not very and
I think this is gonna be a test for her.
I like Ivy Now's abilities between the ropes, don't get
me wrong, but yeah, as far as the personality, she's
very not I don't want to say monotone, but she
(56:29):
her face, she lacks facial expressions. She doesn't like take
like take opportunities to say little quips or maybe say
something that can maybe get uh, you know, viral, or
or something that people can repeat. Like like to me,
it's just this is a pivotal part or pivotal uh
(56:51):
journey for Ivy Now as far as where she's gonna go,
because I think she does heavily need to work on
her character development.
Speaker 3 (56:59):
I really agree with you, because she's she's a phenomenal
technical wrestler. She can have great chemistry with a lot
of different people. But if she falls short on the
character work, well we know what happens. But I really
I still have hope for Ivy Nile. It's there somewhere,
(57:20):
It's it's there, and it just has to be earth
I know, and it's it's just going to take the
right circumstances. But I really feel like we have to
find those circumstances fast.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
Yes, yes, you have to make.
Speaker 3 (57:34):
Care like like you said, it has to be something fun, catchy,
like you know, for someone who is so serious. That's
almost it's almost comical to me because I don't want
to take her seriously because like it's almost like a
comedic foil. But that has to be translated somehow. Yeah,
she's a female meathead.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
That's all I want. Thank you, thank you your voice.
He said, we have fightings one saying Ivy has to
watch some old school Luna Vashon. Oh yeah, I like that.
I like that. Take Luna Vishon very expressive. Took those
five minutes for sure. But Stephanie va kerr Is is
(58:15):
now getting her opportunity at Clash in Paris. I don't
know where we're gonna go with this, and I'm in
such a weird position because don't get me wrong, I
love Stephanie. I see the top I see the top
girl potential in her, but like it just feels weird.
She's going right to a world title match. When you
have Roxanne Perez, Lyra Valkeria and Julia doing such excellent
(58:39):
work in the mid card, and it just feels like
she kind of jumps the line once again that it's
probably nitpicking. I love Stephanie Vaquierre. I think she's super talented,
but she did win that. She did win that battle Royal.
We both called that. Then she came and saved Nikki
Bella from the secret hervist. I got your temperature. I
(58:59):
got you that temperature, Lyra Valcarria, I want to I
want to see your current temperature on Stepan right now.
Speaker 3 (59:06):
I absolutely love Stephanie va care but I feel like
she could potentially be in dangerous territory because what what
is going to keep her there? What is going to
keep her in that position? You know, if we I
feel like there could be some potential for her to
(59:27):
get the Charlotte Flair treatment. She's someone who we naturally
gravitate toward, but if we don't have any like substance
that helps us believe that she deserves to be there. Now,
what I love that she is? She's La Primira. Yeah, absolutely,
(59:48):
that's absolutely amazing. She's the first UH South American woman
to be in that that that spot where she's at,
and please correct me if I'm wrong. I am ignoran
and as a human being, but what is she what's
there might be some serious There isn't substance to back
(01:00:10):
the position in which she is in.
Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
Yeah, no, you're right, because once again I want to
call to attention rox Sane Perez, who is now one
half of the Women's Tag Team Champions, developing very well
under the umbrella of the Judgment Day. Her character is
developing just fine. Then you have Lyra Valcarrier who's getting
all these amazing like main event scars through working with
(01:00:37):
the likes of Bailey and Becky Lynch, and this is
in the mid card. Her character is developing quite nicely.
Then over on SmackDown, Julia, who's really this The United
States title needs her and she needs the United States title.
It's a perfect match for her to develop as a
mid card champion. They're on SmackDown. I see these three
(01:00:59):
women is peelers of the future of the women's division
in w Stephaniecker is whether I like it or not,
I do like that. Once again, love Stephanie, but she
is that fourth peeler. But once again it just feels,
like you said, there's not a whole lot of substance
because she's getting fast tracked to the main event.
Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
And you know there are so many other women who
are rightfully in that line.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
I don't know. I like, I appreciate, I appreciate, like
you know, the opportunities she's being granted, but too much,
too soon, it could it's it's like pride before the
fall yep, yep, Like close to the suit the sun,
you're gonna burn up.
Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Yep, Yo's wings are gonna mount and you're gonna fall fast.
So and I don't want that to happen for Stephanie.
Don't want to happen in the side is big because
I'm a fan of her. But that's just something. We'll
keep an eye out here on the Raw deal and
see where that's going. Once again, this was a really
good Monday Night Raw. To follow things up, I want
to go to the Men's Intercontinent Championship real quick because
(01:02:13):
Dirty Dominic Mysterio he's got a doctor's note and eventually
he's going to have to face AJ Styles. I gotta say.
AJ Styles is doing some of my favorite stuff right now.
As far as how he just pops up and it's
just being random and it's like doing the hey, I
see you, I see you.
Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
I love that they both had sidebark conversations with God
about the other person. I thought that was hysterical.
Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
I'm loving it as as somebody who's been a huge
fan of aj styles because to me personally, he's one
of the best overall talents I've seen rope, you know,
between the ropes of all time. I mean, there's nothing
this man can't do in a ring. He's amazing. But
to be able to see him like at this stage
in his career just be having fun and about to
(01:03:04):
be competing for the Icy title when I believe he's
presumably gonna win because I think he I think the
Dominic Mysterial Icy title reign situation or experiment is ending.
But uh, fightings, I will say this, Yeah, I did
catch that line he said, Hey, what are you doing?
You're feeling? You had Adam Pierson talking to Dominic Mysterial
(01:03:26):
and saying, hey, you're looking spry, looking athletic or whatever.
He's like, well, it's the adrenaline in my soul.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
It sent me. It sent me like you never know
what you're going to get from dominic mysterial. And that's
one thing I absolutely appreciate about him, Like he can
he can ship uh asshole that we we want to
see Phail things like this, like it's hilarious. It's absolutely
(01:04:00):
And also, do you think what we saw from AJ
styles do you think that was the culmination of the
Carrion Cross.
Speaker 2 (01:04:12):
You said the carrying Cross. What now it's got your
breaking up here? Say it one more time?
Speaker 3 (01:04:20):
Do you think that was a fallout from the Carrion
Cross poison? Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
Yeah, yeah, I do. I do, I really do. I
think that we're seeing this with AG. I think we
could see a different AJ after he wins the Icy title,
because I do believe he's gonna win it. I I
really do. I just think I think we've done what
we can do with the Dominique Icy Title run. It
(01:04:45):
was he just I'm not saying it was terrible. I'm
just saying like he didn't have enough matches, you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
And after he got hurt, it was he was kind
of derailed, so kind of lost that momentum. So I
feel like it's coming in that that time where the
belt should chance.
Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Yeah, No, I absolutely agree. I just think that time
is over all. Right, let's go ahead and get to
the main event situation here, because we had Gunther coming out.
He addressed his victory over Goldberg and now he's gonna
be able to gloat about retiring Bill Goldberg until the
end of time, so he has that chip on his shoulder.
(01:05:27):
But this led to a Gotlet match that pretty much
went down exactly how our guy Kevin Callaway over on
Monday said it was going too and that was seeing
Punk winning this thing. He had Breaker running the Gotlet
and looking really good in it until he got to
see him Punk.
Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
Last like thirty minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
Yeah, it was a long match, and it was a
Gotlet match, so you expected to be long.
Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
And there was a point in time where like the
foot was clearly off the gasp he was tired. Yeah, man,
I couldn't. I There's no way I have. I have
a decent cardio, but no way could I ever go
that long in a match. Lots of credit, yeah, oh.
Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
For sure, for sure, lots of So okay, so we
we we got the outcome. We know what's going on
as far as that goes. Where you at with where
are you at with punkin Gun there at SummerSlam. Is
this something you're excited for? Is it something that you
want to see where you at?
Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
You know, I feel like it was only a matter
of time before we see seeing punk in that that
title picture, which was just it felt like so out
of reach for him, and many different points in time
over the course of the year. You know, it's something
that like I will definitely watch, but take it or
leave it for me right now. So I feel like
(01:06:52):
it's gonna be something that's all in the build up.
Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
You're yeah, you're gonna We're gonna have to see how
it builds up. And let's be honest, Andy, they they
don't got a whole lot of time to build it up.
Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
No, they don't. So it's it's gonna need to pull
the trigger on something very quickly.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
Yeah, something's gonna have to Something is definitely going to
have to happen serious by next Monday. I mean, it's
it's good it has to because at this point I'm
looking at my calendar here. Next Monday is the twenty first,
so yeah, oh my gosh, they only have two more
Monday Night raws before Summer Slam two.
Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
Yeah, I just I, you know, I hope they can
figure it out for sure, but like, that's that's not
a lot of time for something the caliber of Summer Slam.
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
Right at this point, it feels like it feels jump
the excitement for me. Yeah, So, I mean I kind
of felt I don't know and like and it was
different in comparison to like the uh Councher's match going
(01:08:03):
into Mania, because that just felt very long. And now
he's experiencing what feels like the opposite problem, not having
a lot of time to let things matriculate organically.
Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
So yeah, yeah, I don't know what they're gonna do
with Summer Slam. I guess we have to see where
the wind blows with this few with the two weeks
that they have. I mean, they're gonna really have to
push this thing if they wanted to get there, they
just really have to. I think Punk has it in them,
and I think that I do think that. I do
think Gunther and Punk are gonna put together some good
(01:08:36):
promos that might get as excited.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
But yeah, just not a lot of time to build.
We already know we got Cody and Sina now, we've
got punkin gunther set. There's quite a few matches that
are already actually set for SummerSlam, and we'll get to those.
We'll talk about all that as the weeks go on
and we look ahead to Summer Slam, and I'm sure
(01:08:59):
myself and that will be giving predictions for that weekend.
More likely, absolutely, the more likely the Raw deal before
SummerSlam weekend is when it will do it. Yeah, but yeah,
this this episode here, this was a great episode. We talked,
you know, some of the big parts to Monday Night Raw,
but I really wanted to talk evolution because I just
(01:09:19):
felt like that was a monumental show. It was a
fun watch. I like, I it was one of those
things where like, have you ever been a part of
something or watched an event or something and like you
realize that you're watching history, Like you like it's conscious
in your brain that you're watching a historical event. You
(01:09:41):
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
It was this. It was definitely this.
Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
That's how I was and that's why I was gushing
so hard about it. I just had to.
Speaker 3 (01:09:49):
And you know, like there wasn't a moment where I
wasn't hanging on the edge of my seat. It's like,
what's going to happen next? What? What kind of creativity
are we going to see? Unfold us as we're watching
it live. Oh and before we head out, we had
to mention the.
Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
The return of who knows? Oh, yes, we didn't bring
that up. Yes, the return of Roman Reigns. He came
at the end. I almost for we've been, we've been.
I've been so you know, amped up on women's dress
not that you know, you know, Roman Rings is amazing,
he's great, But I've been so amped up on women's
wrestling that that's been the main thing that's been driving me.
But yeah, no, Roman reigns, big debut, he comes back.
(01:10:33):
No telling what he's gonna do at uh, No telling
what he's gonna do with SummerSlam, with set out. Maybe
we can maybe it's gonna be Jay Usso and Roman
versus H versus Breaker and and uh and Red. That's
that's something we can see, a big tag match. But
I it here. Let me ask you this. It feels
(01:10:58):
like like Roman is bad, He's here, He's gonna do SummerSlam.
How much longer do you think we realistically have Roman Reigns?
Because these appearances are getting like fewer and fewer. Yeah,
and his involvement, like we know, his huge run is
champion like his massive he'll run. But it seemed like
his his involvement is becoming like more and more he's
(01:11:22):
he's you know, disengaging himself.
Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
You know, I agree. I feel like less than two
years actually if that. Yeah, you know, I feel like
wrestling takes a huge body, and you know, he's had
some serious health concerns. So I think naturally, I think
he'll just to the way of the rock and slowly
(01:11:49):
transition into Hollywood. I think that's a really good calling
for him.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
Did you uh did you have a big pop for
Roman when he came back? Were you excited for it?
Did you expect it to happen? I know I didn't.
I I expected it to happen, but I just didn't
know when. Because I'm like, oh, we're getting the Summer Slam.
We gotta you know, I'm sure that the tribal chief
is going to be evolved in some kind of way.
I just didn't know when it was gonna happen. Where
(01:12:16):
were you at with it?
Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
You know, I had a decent reaction to it. It's like, oh,
but I didn't have the Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
My god, Yeah, like.
Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
I knew it was going to be a matter of time,
and uh, probably that's going to add Uh obviously it's
going to add a huge because it really hasn't been
that prominent in this far of the game.
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
No, No, I think I agree with you less than
two years as far as Roman goes. I just I
just sometimes you could kind of see it, you know
what I'm saying, Like you can see when you're seeing
somebody less and less and they're not as involved in
like storylines or like and yeah, he still gets a
(01:13:11):
massive pop and everything, but like I can see him
just like once again, he's disengaging a little bit more
and more. I think we're seeing a more humanized version
of Roman as he's doing things like Vanity Fair and
yeah and things that nature. He's transitioning for sure. But yeah,
(01:13:34):
I just think like just appreciate, we should all appreciate
what we have left in Roman reigns and a little
bit of time we have left, because it's like it's
like those last Jordan years or Kobe years or even
these last Lebron years. You just don't know when that
you know, when they're like you know what I'm done,
(01:13:54):
you know, like it's call it what I call it,
a great career and that's it. And like I just like,
like I was with you, I didn't pop huge sure,
like when Roman came back, but I was like, oh man,
Roman's back. I'm glad to see that. I'm gonna appreciate
whatever he does, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
And you know, I'm one of those humans where I
would rather give myself a definitive timeline to go out
on my own for those two decided for me. Yeah,
so I feel like, uh, that's where Roman rates is headed.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
I agree. I agree. It's just crazy to think like that.
I watched him in FCW, NXT and stuff and now
we're talking about, oh well we're nearing the end of
his career. That's crazy to me, so crazy, But hey,
this was a crazy episode. I enjoyed it. I had
a blast being because I was looking forward to this
(01:14:55):
episode all day because I know, you know you being
of course you know, a woman, but also a huge
av to get for women's wrestling and and your role
that you play in wrestling. And I've got a chance
to work side by side with you before during shows
and that's just that's a great privilege and I enjoyed
it's been It's the times that we have got a
(01:15:17):
chance to work together has been great. I knew I
wanted to talk evolution specifically with you, So this episode
was super fun for me because this element was absolutely
captivating mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (01:15:30):
And you know, we also have to be thankful for
the men who give us the platforms, who are willing
to step aside yes and give us the super So
men men like yourself, like Kevin, like everyone else on
I wagh h like all of you give us that
(01:15:52):
you know that we deserve and that we're willing to
take for ourselves. So and also like the men who
who are behind the scenes at wwe like we got
to work together. It's we're a team whether that way,
like we're only as far as we help each other go.
Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
So absolutely, and let me continue to be that man
that that supports women by giving you the opportunity to
plug anything that you want to plug. Where can they
catch you? Where can they hear the divinely designed takes

their wing and show me how it's done while allowing
me to be fully myself. And that's nothing short of

lot of great times together, whether it be doing our thing,
