Speaker 3 (00:44):
We don't make u s in every town.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
We great baby, we's grating sound.

Speaker 3 (00:53):

Speaker 1 (01:09):
There you go, fans, you just got doubled up on
that son of a gun right there. The uh don't
shoot your anybody in the dick. Info. You can only
get that here. You know that, grun I didn't know that. Yeah,
you don't get that here that you can only get
that here. No one else is putting that on their podcast.
I think it's more of a like they don't want

(01:30):
their podcast to be this raunchy.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
This uh you know, I don't know, man, I've heard
of a lot of podcasts that are way raunchier than ours.
Very true, very there are they don't even know if
we're in the top fifty percent of that. No, like
there are sometimes it goes there, but like it's it's
a clean like fifteen percent of the time.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Yeah, very true, very true. I love it all right, fans,
So you see it. You see what we're doing here.
It is your Raw Preview review crew, the Bearded Trio,
the Bearded Brigade, whatever you want to call us. We're
here every Monday at seven pm, right before Raw, getting
ready to what gets you informed and get you ready
for Raw, because well that's what we do. We enjoy it,

(02:15):
we love it. And uh, guys, how's it been. How's
your week? Ben? I know last week we did a
special edition in which we watched one hour of All
Live with the fans. So how have you guys been
since then?

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Been good? Pretty good? Handling dinosaurs and dressing World Evolution two.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Oh okay, good. I'm glad you went further with that,
because you can't tell me or just handles. I was
gonna be like, okay, so no, no, we were going
to you gotta love it, you gotta love it. I thought.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
I tried playing that game at one point on the PlayStation.
I realized, like I need a PC for that game.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Yeah, Unfortunately, it.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Is not a good user interface for PlayStation. I got
it for free on there, both Evolution to and Evolution
I think from PlayStation Plus, and I went to play
it and it's just like dog like. I know, I
would love this game, but it's gonna infuriate controller.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yeah, it's a lot easier on mouse keyboard. They really
should have, but but they just want to sell copies.
They don't care if it doesn't make sense on a console.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
What if it doesn't make dollars? It doesn't make sense
in this in this capitalistic society that.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
We that the truth? Ain't that the truth?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
I guess? I guess I'll share news. Actually, Josh, I
don't think you were in the chat for this. I was.
I got engaged this weekend, no way.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yeah, oh, congratulations to you and Annie. I assume Annie
is the one you got engaged to. That's awesome, man,
I'm so happy for you too. Yeah. Uh okay, question

(04:13):
did you prepare a whole proposal or was it just
one of those things you just felt the time was right?

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Okay, both kind I got the ring shit two two
and a half months ago. At this point, maybe slightly less,
and I'm like, okay, whenever I feel like the time
is right. So originally I was thinking, oh, like, I'll
do it an electric forest. When I was there with

(04:40):
her and we were both working the show, I'm like,
that'll be cool. And then I realized two things. One,
Annie is not the public proposal person. She's just just
not who she is. She she likes doing the public
stuff with like you know, wrestling, announcing commons, she loves
all of that stuff, and then she wants to leave
the world where the work is understandable. She's she's much

(05:04):
more of a person who's she's like she's a She's
an extroverted introvert in the fact that she loves communicating
with people, but that likes to just go all right,
everyone else can. I just wanted to be with the
circle of people that I want to be with, So
doing it in front of a bunch of people bad idea. Second,
the other problem transport transportation. We pack a lot of

(05:28):
stuff for electric for there was a higher chance that
my eighty HD ass loss or rate and I was
not going to go through that struggle. I would have
been looking for it. I would have been like a
ship where to go uh and there was also a
higher chance of her finding it and then just going hey,
what's this? There goes that. So I went into I

(05:56):
went into fourth of July weekend. Originally we were supposed
to go uh in to the Upper Peninsula with my parents,
but like two days prior because my father's diagnosed with cancer,
as I've spoken about and all that, as we were
about to go up, Annie was feeling sick and I
was still overcoming kidney stones and we're like, you know what,

(06:21):
we can't be around dad while we're sick, and that sucks.
We wanted to be up there, but we're gonna go
up north anyway. They have a property in Firewell, they
won't be there. We'll use that as a getaway. So
it was just us in the end, which was actually
the first weekend we've ever done together alone.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yeah, in two years. We're always so busy, there's no time.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Oh yeah, understandable. You guys are very busy couple.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah we are. But like when we go on vacation,
we'd be visiting my parents in Florida. We'd have days
together where we're alone, but overall the vacation we weren't alone.
This was the first time we've had like the alone
alone vacation for five days, which was really nice. Wow.
So day after fourth of July, I was sitting there

(07:04):
and I was thinking about it. I'm like, all right, well,
I'm gonna do it today.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Fuck it.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Like it was just like I don't want to leave
this trip without being engaged, because I don't want to
keep waiting for a moment that's never It's never gonna
be a thing that you want it Like, it's never
gonna be this dream in your head, Like it's never
you could come up with a cute thing to go
into it, which I did. I'll share that in a second.
But but like I started to realize that, I'm like, okay,

(07:30):
I just got to pick a moment, just find a moment,
or just craft a moment. Fuck it, you're good at this.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
So throughout the throughout the days, we were still overcoming sickness.
I was having back pains, thinking I might have another
goddamn kidney stone. So it's like, oh god, damn it.
I got to the Saturday and I'm like, Okay, everything
seems to be clear. We're about to go into town
and I just kind of. My parents have a front
deck that overlooks a lake and it's kind of a

(08:00):
beautiful view. It's one of her favorite spots. Actually. She
she shared that with me a while ago, and then
reminded me after the proposal, which I forgot because that's right.
I going on to the deck and I'm like, hey,
before we leave, it's really like the sun's really hitting
off the water and it looks really nice. So I

(08:22):
just called her out on the deck. She immediately knew
something was up. She's like, Kevin doesn't talk like that.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
What the.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
This is it? No, this isn't the mat. What is happening?
I called her out there, I said, I said some
things of like, hey, this is a nice moment. Then
I looked her. I looked at her and I said,
can I give you one more moment? And then I
got down on one knee and proposed to her, and
then she cried for a clean I gotta say like

(08:50):
three minutes, just emotionally happy after saying yes, And that's
how it happened.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Yes, So happy for you guys, So happy that that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
I couldn't I couldn't be happier for two more well
deserving people. You guys. You guys are a fun couple
to be around. You guys are definitely very conscious of
everybody else around you. And the fact that you guys
took that moment and you you say you forgot, but
I think deep down that there is.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Exactly like ADHD Archives memories. It doesn't forget it.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
I love it. I love it, and it just works
out so perfect for you guys. I mean, congratulations, man,
that's awesome. That is so awesome. Grun, that's how you
get married. Ye, that's what you're supposed to do. Gun.
Now you got to find yourself a Philly Philly and
uh just get out there and start doing some proposing.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
I thought if Philly Philly was when you put a
cheese steak on inside of another cheese.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Steak, it could be that is how you get how
you uh, how you locate the girls in Philly. There
you go, Grun, get yourself a double cheese steak and
you'll get them all.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
I think you can get shot in Philly for that.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I think that might be in the in that might
be in law. At least you on site.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
If they don't shoot you, you could have love. So
I mean it's a fifty to fifty gamble there, all right, guys,
So we are we are excited for the brand new
news from our our own baby boy, Kevin Collaway and
Annie O'Neil. Congratulations to you guys again. Uh, but you

(10:47):
know we're here for raw. We're here for some Monday
night raw, guys. So last week we we did our
our hour long watch why watch with our fans. It
was fun. We definitely got lost in the seamous match.
I think that really did the number though. It was

(11:08):
a great match. It did what it needed to do.
So where I want to go with this, We'll start
out with my subject so we can get deeper into
your guys' subject. My subject is going off of the
very last match, the main event, and it's going to
focus around the tag team of Bronson, Reid and bron Breaker.

(11:35):
I don't know if I've ever seen a more well
formed tag team out of necessity than these two. They
have it down the way. Bronson allowed himself to be
kind of beaten up by Penta and Sammy so he

(11:57):
could have some type of comeback.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
It allowed Sammy to have that that hero moment that
Sammy's all about.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Sammy is allowed moment in the game.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
I don't think exactly one, there's not. And it also
allowed those moments in the match for what Penta does
the best the crowd reactions, the pausing, the stepping, doing
his little dance and getting the crowd involved. So my
my question to you, guys, are Bronson and Braun one

(12:31):
of the top tags teams on Raw to day?

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Have you start?

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Man?

Speaker 4 (12:40):
I you know what, technically they're not tagging him at
same time, it's like they they just showcased these two guys.
It it's another case of you. It is completely possible
to put two people that have nothing, have very nothing
or very little in common, put them together and make

(13:03):
them a great tag team. Bron Breaker and Bronson Reid showcase.
They are two of the best workers WW right now
and they I think you could uh easily eventually make
them in running for the Raw tagging titles against UH

(13:25):
or the World Tagging titles against Finn Balor and j
D McDonough, And I think that'd be a perfect mix.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
You're speaking my language, man, I want to see that match.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Old Bron Bron Bronson Breed Bron Breaker, Bron Bron. I
forget who referred to him as that. I think it
was CM punk Bron Bron, and it stuck in my
head and I thought it was hilarious. Uh. They are
what the authors of pain should have been.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah, okay, yeah, they are.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
A powerhouse tag team who knows how to work together,
but knows how to sell for smaller guys, they're not
bumping around all over the place. They're taking offense, but
they're not falling. They're crumbling. They're doing whatever they need
for that so that they can protect their size. It's
a psychological thing that you don't notice until someone points
it out. There's a lot of guys that don't bump

(14:31):
because they're protecting their size, and then they bump when
it matters or when they do something bigger, so they'll
go down to a knee, they'll crumble, they'll fall. They
won't take that full like smash like I just got
thrown the fuck down until there's someone like big Big,
or until there's some big offense that happens. They are

(14:53):
so good at it, he just need here's the problem.
I don't think they should take it off of Judgment
Day because that's a heel. Again, we just did a
heel versus heel switch for the tag titles. It was
a really good match. I'm glad that they went with
the dynamic that the Judgment Day were basically the faces
in it, because if you look back, that's who the

(15:13):
faces were. They just said, you know what, for today,
Judgment Day is gonna be faces. Because we need these
titles to change hands. I think Judgment Day needs to
hold on to them for a while. It depends on
how long Seth's group stays together. I'm hearing rumors that
they're already planning a bron split. I don't think they should.

(15:34):
I think Seth's group should be together for a while.
There's it's rumors Grun. I know I had the same
thing when I was looking at it. Know that that's
what the direction is eventually, I'm sure it is.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
If you look at that Hayman looking at Braun after
Broun slaps the briefcase and interrupts Hayman when he's explaining
Plan B, there's a look that Hayman gives and it's like,
oh boy.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
And I think that works. I just don't want it
to be rushed and it just has to have care.
And I also really like Bronson and Breaker as a
tag team right now in a division that just has
so little, so little built guys that if you have
a faction like Judgment Day, like Seth Rollins's whatever contingent,

(16:25):
whatever you want to call them, B and B security
either way, like you have these guys. They I think
they need a tag title run at some point, but
it shouldn't be soon because Judgment Day needs it right now.
So they are draped in gold so that that gold
can all be taken away from them for when they

(16:45):
crumble or when they eat themselves alive.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Beautiful. I love that. I love that. And we got
some love porn out to you guys. First and foremost,
we got to hit you know, Papa can here. He's
letting everybody know thanks for growing our family. There you go,
a beautiful message from a beautiful man named Ken, and uh,
we got Fightings one. Chiming in, he's saying he would

(17:12):
say yes to them being one of the top tag teams,
but there's not much to compete against on that one.
And then Fightings one also chiming in, I don't like
the whole wearing suits gimmick reminds me of the secret
or the secret hervests. Yes, well, I could see where
you're coming from.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
On that one. It reminds me a lot of J
and J Security, So I do dislike the suits a
little bit. Jane J Security, We're kind of they were different.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
Yeah, I see where you guys are going, but like,
let's also make it very clear that this is not there.
They're definitely this entire time, they've been presenting them very
J and J Security. The suits. Like the thing is,
they're pretty much the Bronson and Braun are pretty much

(18:02):
in all black like the Piper and Alba. They're more
they have the white dressers underneath to more signific more
to simulate the idea of secret service, because secret services
aren't just allowed where whatever dress shirt they want. I'm
sure it's a very strict dress code. The sensible shoes

(18:24):
or the wrestling boots.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
I get what you're saying, but I also see what
fightings Want is saying. And it's like when you go
to a buffet and you can have fresh coconut or
you can have imitation coconut, You're gonna take the fresh
coconut because it's way better. So and to me, the
hervest that look fits them perfectly. Bronson reed, in a

(18:49):
suit doesn't fit me perfectly. Like that, he's his body
is not built for a fucking suit. Bron Breaker's body
is not built for a sup I.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Think Bo'd argue with bron Breaker. I think his body
is built for a suit. I think it fits him better.
Bronson reads, he is large and the suit coat feels
like it's wrapping around him too much. Yes, whereas bron
Breaker has a bit of a slimmer build. I think
the suit with a natural tailor, I think it does
look really good on him, Okay, And I think it

(19:20):
adds more appeal of Hey, this guy is a big deal.
This guy is a star. And I think that's what
they're trying to do, because if you've noticed through the
years of watching wrestling, when you're trying to get someone
over as a big deal, especially as a heel, you
put him in a suit. Because if you put him
in a suit, they seem like they're higher class than
other people. It's psychological perception, just like and I learned

(19:45):
this from a man. I learned this from I guess
I'll say his name Johnny Bravos around the area. He
does TNA stuff. I entering with someone, if you go
through their legs, it automatically psychologically puts in people's minds
that you are subservient to whoever's legs you just went through.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
I see what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
So it's a psychological thing to put people in suits,
especially that way when you're when there's someone that you're
trying to pract and you put bodyguards around him, but
you put him in suits, especially big guys like that
with their suits maybe don't fit. That means there's a
lot of man under it, and that man is probably
gonna kill you.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
That's true. All right, Before we jump to Grun's topic,
let's hit up one of the guys who well, he
infamously in our chat made the put a pin in
it famous by the actual pin mark and it's the
lou the most amazing wrestling minds in the game. Oh
and Grun Happy Monday Andy was also chiming in. He

(20:48):
loves what you were saying, Kevin building the Bronz main
event status. Uh do it with care and I rush
like Kevin said, And that's perfect there. So run, let's
jump into what you're wanting to talk about, and always
remember Grun.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Okay, col Well, maybe you'd like two weeks attention instead.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Be careful.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
I will be careful.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
You always micro aggressions, bro.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Let's I think I want to dance on that line
a little bit. So So look, I think this is
gonna be a great match of devolution. I am not
thrilled with how they came to it, and that is
Ria Ripley versus e O Sky. I I'm not thrilled

(21:40):
that it was just Eo picked her opponent just like that,
Like like I kind of more understand how Tiffany got
to pick because, like Tiffany, this is Tiffany, pick an
opponent that you need to beat, that you think is
your you're going to beat. That means something. Io I
feel like I feel like I feel like Adam. It

(22:03):
would have been better if Adam Peerce just said I've
selected Ria Ripley to be your opponent because this is
a big match and we need you to have a
big opponent, and you have not faced Ria one on
one in a long time, and now this is for
a championship and you're both at eyes level. So what
do you guys think? How would you guys have booked

(22:24):
this match of you Sky versus Real Ripley at Evolution
or would you have picked a different opponent?

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Hmm, do you want to start this one off voice?

Speaker 1 (22:35):
I think I will. I love the EO angle, Okay,
let's start that off. I'm getting to wear Houses where
maybe we're getting over I believe the term is saturated
with Rhea. She's becoming something that they're almost shoving down

(22:57):
our throats in a way I'm not saying and I
don't enjoy what Rhea does, because I do. She's able
to whatever they give her, She's able to make it
her own and walk away with a win. But again,
House brought it up, and it's much like the idea
of do we need her winning all the time? Do

(23:18):
we need her in the main event? Do we need
her at that peak? Because there is a lot of
talent behind I would have loved to see and I
know that we've probably seen this on different promotions of WWE,
whether it be NXT, whether it be whatever they have

(23:39):
their hands in. But I would have loved to see
in a Kyrie saying eat Sky Match. I think it
would have been fun. I'm more of a fan of
the smaller athletes at that caliber. I'm a sucker for
a good Crisp and Wild Malenko match, and I think

(23:59):
that they could bring a element of real fun to
it because look what they're doing with uh with Kyrie already,
with the anime type video packages that they're they're making
her almost final destination come to life. I just I

(24:20):
guess I could have went with anybody other than Ria.
Like I'm not saying I don't want Ria in a
main event match, but it's almost like when Charlotte's gone
and she comes back, she instantly gets a title match.
And I'm not saying Ria's been gone or anything, but
it's like it's the same comparison of, oh my gosh,

(24:41):
we're not sure where we need to pivot in this
division with this storyline. Throw Ria in there? Does it
work a majority of the time? Yeah? But again, are
we getting oversaturated? So to simplify my answer, I would
much rather seen a different match. I understand where they're going,

(25:04):
but for personal taste, I would have rather seen Eogo
against another opponent, save this for SummerSlam, save that main
event where Ria, you know, something like that, or even
a fun go home show. You know, why not? You
can work with anything, hopefully, I answered Jig grin.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
I gotta tell you my suspicion is that Ria is
gonna beat EO. And the reason I say that and
I don't think Riha has a long title run, and
this is why she's winning, and this is why it
feels like she keeps winning. Ria Ripley is the female
Cody Rhads for WW.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I promise I buy that.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
That's what they're setting her up for. She is the
biggest draw in raw right now other than maybe Cempunk. True,
but it's got to be rivaled at this point. It's
that she is so over with the crowd, and it's
to the point where she can't be denied from a
title for very long without good reason, because she continues

(26:10):
to win because she is that over with the crowd,
because they long for her to be there. And I
agree it can feel like oversaturation. But I would also
keep in mind that if you're giving someone a lot
of wins, that means whenever they lose, it's probably going
to be meaningful. So if you're setting Ria up to
win against EO Sky, that's again let's assume that that's

(26:33):
what's going on. I suspect Rhea loses it at SummerSlam
and that'll be the next person, or she loses it
in a little bit later maybe Survivor series. And my
suspicion is that it'll be someone like Roxane Perez for
when Live comes back, so that Judgment Day can be

(26:56):
dripped at gold all in. They can go another way.
They could They could go with Oscar Kyrie saying as well,
but that's that's my suspicion is that Rhea doesn't hold
it for that long. It's not gonna be some calendar

(27:18):
year hold. But they're gonna set up a Summer Slam
main event for the women. That's gonna be a big match.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
And you're you're assuming, or you're going within your idea
that Roxanne is going to be the one just so
they can get to the Live and then Judgment Day
draped in gold.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Basically, which they already are dripped in gold. So don't
get me wrong. They could go another way because all
of them hold tes now Roxanne for Resificial Well after
an evolution, she will officially hold the title, yes, assuming
that she wins, which I assume they will because I
think they want Judgment they dripped in gold for when

(27:57):
Live comes back, so that Live can be the odd
women out MK.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
And oh go ahead. I was just gonna say, we
got to see money Chiman and Trips likes his baby
faces to chase the title not hold it for long.
And I think that is something that you've drilled into
our heads, Kevin.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
That's not just triple h that's classic wrestling logic.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
And that's what I was gonna say, that's the format
of your basic wrestling promotion.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
The last time it worked to have really really long
babyface title runs that didn't feel getting stale was like
Hulk Hogan in the eighties.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Yeah, it's.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Hard because like even Cody Rhoades, like they they were
able to manage his title right for as long as
they did, but it was but there were still people
that were that were kind of glad to see Cody
drop it. And it's it's hard nowadays because you got
because people more fans are educated now, so they're they're

(29:03):
they're more aware of what wrestlers came before, and so
they might think, oh, those were better than today, hey,
and it's like yeah, and it's it's hard to even
match what Eddie Guerrero did Doma Stereo. I think he's
doing a great job of matching Eddie Guerrero and and
still doing his own things, still making it Jerdy Dom Stereo,

(29:26):
not making it Eddie two point zero. Uh, Coke Cempung
being cm Punk, Cody Roads being Cody Roads, Johnson of
being John Cena. Like we say it all, you hear it,
and you see it all the time.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Wrestlers need to find their own persona figure out what
it is, even if it has similarities. Abyss had similarities
to Caine Undertaker and yet was still on the top
wrestlers in DNA rather in the entire existence.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
I mean, I don't disagree.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
I can't disagree with you. Well, it's just actually inaccurate
on so many different levels. I don't understand why you wrote.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
It like that.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Jo, shut up. Joe disagrees, but he's not a wrestling fan.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
He doesn't understand. I think that the death of k
Fabe killed the long Babyface title run, though true, and
I don't think k Fabe is totally dead by the way,
like every a lot of people, Yeah, Uh, it's dead
if you want it to be dead, that's the key.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
I don't want it to be dead.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
Uh. And the more you look up, the less likely
you're gonna like a babyface title run that's long. There
is a deep correlation between that, because you know how
things are booked, and you start getting tired quicker of
the baby faces. Yeah, and it's it is just that easy, Okay,
it is.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
We're getting some some heat grown you're naturally building heat.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Okay, all right, look I get it.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Let me.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Let me also preface this by saying, I don't have
the love of Eddie Guerrero that everybody else has. I sorry,
why Eddie. First thing, one of the first thing I
remember him doing was hitting Batista in the back with
a chair. I didn't understand why he did that, why
he it was his tagging partner, and I didn't understand
why that was such a big deal. I I'm introduced
to Eddie Guerrero completely unaware of what he is and

(31:17):
what he I hear the lie, lie.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Cheating, stealing, I hear that. I I like, I get it.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
He's a jerk, but people like him like okay, but
I still didn't k It was two thousand and five,
like literally less than twelve months later he passed away. Yeah,
so it's like, so it's like I saw him with
his feud with Room mystereo over dominic mysterio. So it's like,
I don't have the love, the passion, the the the

(31:47):
understanding of how great Eddie is. And I don't think
I can just go back watch it and really have
that understanding of how much people appreciate how much people
idolized Eddie Gerrero. But I'm not going to say that
he's like everyone says, he's one of the grays wrestlers
of all time, one of the grazeslution doors of all time.
I'm not going to argue with people when it's like

(32:10):
there's a i'm an out numbered a million to one.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
Hey, Grun, you don't have to defend it, because I see,
I know what you're saying. You weren't around to see
what we've seen, and it boils down.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
To there is no romantic way to fit someone.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
There's just not there's and we just got to live
with that. And I see what you're saying, Grun. And
what I would say to you, though, is if you're
really wanting to know what we know about Eddie and
what we've seen about Eddie, go back watch the old
Monday Night Nitros with Eddie there and then watch his

(32:49):
evolution into the WW week when he came in with
was it called the radicals? Radicals? When he came in
with them, you watch the reaction that those four men get,
and you will, you will start to understand why we
why we hold such admiration for Eddie. I agree with you.

(33:10):
Dom is doing it his own way and he is
starting to climb that Eddie love ladder. Even though we
hear him booed, we hear him that's the fans reacting.
That's what he's trying to get and the fans are
giving it to him. So yes, if you break it
down psychologically, he is one of the favorites, much like Eddie.

(33:30):
Eddie was a lie. He lied, he cheated, he stole.
That's what he did and that's what you knew. So
I think Dom's well on his way to it. And
I do understand where ribshots coming from because you know,
I'm a huge Eddie fan, and.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
I think Eddie had a large He had a large
influence on so many people that came through and because
of that, you see that work with Dom. You see
the influence of both Eddie and Ray in his work.
Dom is I don't know if he'll surpass them, but

(34:09):
he will probably rival them in the end if he
stays with this and he stays going, because the meteoric
rise of Dominic Mysterio has been wild to watch.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
He is.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
It's okay, I'm gonna make a comparison that's kind of wild,
but I'll explain myself. Okay, dom Mysterio right now is
in the Misses position. I see it. He is. At
one point, after he got comfortable and understood how to
work and the psychology of everything, he was trusted with
all of the matches. Right now, dom is trusted with

(34:50):
all of the matches so that he can keep getting
reps and just get better. And that's what's happening in
front of our eyes. We are seeing Dominic Mysterio grow
in front of us.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
I love it. I love it all right, So we're
gonna put a pin in the dom talk and the
Eddie discussion, the comparison. I love how it got the
chat going though, So good, good job, grun you did
something well today, So thank you. That's good. Oh. And like,
and he's our he's our our fan. He's putting up

(35:20):
in in it, so that leads us into I believe
what Kevin callaway might want to talk about, So go ahead,
take it away, Kevin.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
There's a man who just hit his growth spurt who's
coming back. There is a man who has finally kicked
his Colombian coffee addiction due to those bad drug dealers. Oh, finally,
his growth is no longer stunted. He's grown up in
front of our eyes, more literally than dom then figuratively.

(35:52):
Tonight we have the return of El Grande German not
I mean Americano.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
I love it. I love it.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
I don't know I can make this conversation, but I
really just want to talk about how fucking dope this
angle is.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
Online Like, oh, they're doing alutle bit kind of like
you know what, they're putting him on TV, and everyone's
in initial reaction was it was the hilarious, most hilarious
thing they've ever seen.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
He's changed nothing about what he does and just walked through.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
And that's the genius of it. That's the extra sprinkles
on that Sunday.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
My god, it's so good man. I think it's this
was such a smart pivot because it's really this is
an angle, like an our truth angle, where if truth
got injured, you just have to pivot Truth into doing
something that didn't involve something physical, and you were good.
We're seeing that now, but we're pivoting who's under the

(37:07):
mask because nobody has revealed who's under the mask yet,
which is why you hold onto it for so long.
And the angle itself is so is so mired and
like dripped in just like non serious but still serious
that you can get away with it. It's with Truth

(37:28):
not doing comedy angles anymore.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
You need something, you need something.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
And if you're gonna give these guys like Chad Gable
is one of the best workers they have, and I
will put that on True, on god on Zeus, on whoever. Yep,
he is amazing, but he's not just amazing in the ring.
He has an amazing comedic presence and timing he is.

(37:57):
He is, Yeah, like a five tool fucking player. It's wild, Nat.
And I didn't get to see all it, Like I
saw it a little bit with the Alpha Academy and stuff,
and like he was good at that, but I think
it's been so much better with this and it's treated
like a serious thing while being a very not serious thing.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Yeah, and I love it. I love what you just
said there a not serious thing being treated as a
serious thing. And I think that that works perfectly because
that plays into lug WID's personality, what he's trying to
bring across. And then you add that sprinkle of common

(38:37):
comedia timing with him to just strut off like amazing,
amazing work. I think, Oh, go ahead, Kevin, Oh God,
no finish thought I was just gonna say. I think
we're at a point that Chad Gable is now looked
at as the Swiss Army Knife of the w W week.

(38:59):
You can put, you can position him into something, and
he's going to find a way to make it his
own or help somebody else make it their own, and
I think that is missed and needed in the WWE,
which gives me even more excitement that they're even talking
about dan Housen coming, because I think that's another element.

(39:21):
Imagine Americano dan Housen. Oh my god, just Dan Housen
and the Elkande mask.

Speaker 4 (39:30):
Hey, Americano, let's make some money. Okay, you can take
over America. I totally over the world. We get people
like each other at the same time, we'll get them
to do things we like, and we're going to be
super evil and super nice.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
It would be so good, and what they're doing now
is perfect. You don't even have to change anything up.
I'm just saying that, like Kevin pointed out, with the
absence of our truth in his comedy, there's got to
be someone to fill that role. Right now, we have
Chad Gable, but I think all three of us are
sitting around and we're like, there's an entire world you

(40:06):
can play around in this around Chad Gable, because imagine
when he comes back and he's wearing the Grande Amrcono
and he's looking at someone else wearing it. To me,
that's gold. You were just writing comedic gold. We might
as well call you Saturday Night Live because you're you're
hooking me, You're bringing me into it. I love it.

(40:28):
I love this.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
It's it's such. It must have came out of nowhere too.
Like they were just sitting in a meeting and like,
where are we going to go with this feud? And
somebody I don't know who had this idea, but God
give them a job for life. Yeah, just they came
up with this wacky idea and it's like, fuck it,

(40:50):
let's try it. Let's see what happens, and man, it
has worked. And I would love to see Dan Housen
in this angle. I think that would be fun because
put I want to see him. I don't just want
to see him in the angle. I want him under
the mask at some point. Oh my god, but his
face is still painted. It's clearly Dan Housen. He still

(41:12):
has the cape on. All the shit I want, all
the dumb shit. Oh like this again, exactly like I said,
like this is people. I understand why comedy has looked
down on, but also a necessary thing in wrestling. If
you put too much comedy within the context of the

(41:33):
match and you have everyone believe like everyone has to
buy into the bullshit, you start potentially diminishing other people
as people who are smart. So I think this is
and this is not me speaking ill of someone who
has passed away, because I loved his work and creativity.
But I think that was one of the major problems

(41:53):
with the Fiend is how do you get him over
while all of this stuff is clearly supernatural and no
one's asking questions because it runs into a problem where okay,
where's the believability in it? And we have to come

(42:13):
up with it ourselves. We aren't told in the confines
of the story. We have to come up with it
ourselves and argue it. And in a sense that works,
but also it starts degrading it and destroying it. So
if you have and I think this happens with Tony
Storm a little bit too again, great worker who is amazing,
but everyone buys into the fact that she is an

(42:34):
actress from the nineteen twenties and not a crazy lady
who says she's an actress from the nineteen twenties. Yeah,
because if they treated her the latter way, I think
it would work better.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Oh well, it worked in Seinfeld when went to California.

Speaker 3 (42:50):
All of the same shit, all of it, I agree
with you, all of the same shit. And you can
be she paid off the camera guy to make it
black and white. You can explain it that way. But
none of the workers around her are just like, yes,
this is Tony Storm, the best women's wrestler ever. They're like,
this is a crazy woman who thinks she's an actress

(43:11):
from the nineteen twenties. Yeah, how has she stolen this title?
And you can make everyone be an asshole to her
so that she's still the face like there is a
way to do it without just being like, yep, this
is what we have to accept. You can make it
all make sense. And I think that's what I love
about this Chad Gable thing. Nobody is buying into the bullshit.

(43:36):
Michael Cole on commentary is actively going Chad Gable hits
some of the German suplex, and then the guy next
to whoever is next to him at the time, because
it's either Pat or it's Wade or Ory anybody, They're like,
what do you mean you don't know if that's Chad Gable,
We can't possibly know that. Michael's like, are you goddamn blind?

(43:57):
Like that's that works so well because you're not treating
everyone else around them like they're idiots who are just
believing the story. They're seeing through the obvious, the obvious illusion.
Like it's like a magician holding a hand here with
a ball and saying, there's no ball, look over here,

(44:17):
and it's just right next to it.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
I love it. I love it. Yeah. It reminds me
of old Jerry and Jim Jim talking because Jim would
he would call it out and Jerry would deliver every
single time, no, no, and it was perfect, and Michael
Cole learned that he learned that from Ross and he

(44:43):
does it masterfully. And what I really like about what
Cole's doing to elevate this this character is the fact
that he is standing on ten does and he knows
for a fact that that is Chad Gable. And then
when you introduce these possibilities of it somebody else, that

(45:04):
just allows the comedic guy to play in another world
and develop his commentary skills.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
And even the GM with it. It isn't buying it.
Adam Pierce is going a we got to go through
this goddamn song and dance again, all right, Chad.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
I love what Ribshot said here. Kurt Angle and Regal
were the perfect mix of comedy and credibility.

Speaker 3 (45:30):
Gables was amazing at it, often overlooked, Oh my god,
he could make a comedy angle out of nothing.

Speaker 1 (45:40):
Very true. I think Regal is a master at it.
Kurt Angle, he was also a master at it. He
actually made Brock seem humorous at times, and that's a
hard thing to do when Brock is so believable in
his monster persona that to take him out of that.

(46:00):
Even with Angle, when Austin was able to take Angle
out of this Olympic monster who was just going in
there and tapping dudes out. He was able to give
him a tiny hat and yeah, I mean tell me
that's not one of the most memorable Angle moments of
his career was that tiny fucking cowboy. Yet he got

(46:23):
corn and I don't care.

Speaker 4 (46:25):
A lot of freaking gold medal dude.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
I still I still remember his rendition of hbk's theme
song Live in a Ring.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
His milk truck.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
Oh yeah, oh my god, just all of it was
ridiculous and amazing. It was like Vince Russo's ideas but
done well.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
You know that is such the biggest compliment and the
biggest insult you could ever put in one sentence. Yp grun,
Let's get your thoughts real quick before we head out
onto the sunset. We got eleven minutes before we go
live with Raw. What's your your thoughts on this? Chad
Gable saga.

Speaker 4 (47:17):
I I this is going this is going to be
the comic relief for Raw and and hopefully for SmackDown two,
because I don't care about the brand split. Let's break
it up.

Speaker 1 (47:31):
I agree, because like you need.

Speaker 4 (47:35):
Good comedy segments on on W two because right especially
right now, because right now you've got a lot of
serious stuff happening.

Speaker 3 (47:43):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (47:44):
The the women's division, unfortunately right now between Raw and
SmackDown not very good. And it's solely because they didn't
do enough booking for Evolution in the week's prior, so
that is hurt the women's division vision. Hopefully once we
get past that, it'll be better for I think SummerSlam

(48:06):
is up next. If not, then then it's a clash
in Paris.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
I think it's SummerSlam Summerlam.

Speaker 4 (48:12):
Okay, all right, Well, but the Chad Gable, well in
El Grandi El Grandie Americano story, it's one of the
best things they've presented to us. It's like I was
very much like, I don't like I found it a

(48:33):
little funny, but I'm like, dude, like, why why are
you guys doing this to us? Because I gotta be
I'm I'm with Michael cole I'm a coal miner. Now, okay,
that's literally I was thinking that, like, it's gonna be
amazing when Michael cole Man just coal miners in his
w Hall of Fame speech.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
I've spread so many rumors.

Speaker 1 (48:59):
My favorite part about rumors nobody verifies, sh oh, it's
not a it's not And just to get you guys
caught up. August second and third is Summer Slam Clash
in Paris is the thirty first in August, and then

(49:20):
we jumped to Crown Jewel in October.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
Okay, okay, So there's no September.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
Pl no September a month off August.

Speaker 3 (49:32):
Because it too like it's okay if I'm doing We
did two in June, Money in the Bank and King
and Queen of the Ring. Right, we had I'm not
going to count Saturday night main events in any of this,
but now those are network specials. Whatever you can. You

(49:52):
can plan matches for that. Cool, they're TV matches, though,
I'm gonna count it like a souped.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
Up raw Okay, okay, perfect.

Speaker 3 (50:02):
So we had two in June, we have one in July,
we have two in August. That's five and three months.
That's a lot. You talk about oversaturation earlier. I'm not
worried about the oversaturation of the people in these because
I think they can build up and knock them down
when they need to so that they can build the
next people, which they've been pretty good at. I would

(50:22):
say it's not. Nothing's ever perfect, and there will always
be criticisms and critiques and they will be valid. But
the problem that they have, in my opinion, is that
they're oversaturating in the market of shows, specifically PLS.

Speaker 1 (50:38):
It's I can't argue. I cannot argue that you are correct.
I mean, look, going with what we have left for
this coming up months, we have the supersized Monday Night Raw,
like you said, the Saturday Night, and then we go
into Summer Slam two nights. Then we go right the

(51:00):
very end of August, we're going into the Clash in Paris.
Then we get our break, so right there, I think
that's when we're gonna hit money. There's gonna be a
lot of a lot of good story development pushing in
that area. And then October length we're going to Crown
Jewel and then we almost have a whole another month

(51:21):
and twenty something days before we get to Survivor Series.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
Is that at the end of November November?

Speaker 1 (51:27):
Yeah, so we're growing as October eleventh for Crown Jewel, sure,
and then November twenty ninth for Survivor Series.

Speaker 3 (51:35):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (51:36):
So yeah, we get we're getting ready to not only
get hit with a wave of ples, but then were
we see the calming right after that set of waves.
So Kevin, I love where you're at with that, that
you are hitting on so many levels. The oversaturation of
pls and plus the two night thing, you've dumped it

(51:57):
into the major pl E, which is now hurting what
you're setting up for WrestleMania for its two nights. I
don't special.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
I guess that's true, but I don't mind it for
Summer Slam. I think the problem lies is that if
you're gonna do Summer Slam as two nights, the problem
is you just ran a pl three weeks prior for
your Women, and then you're gonna run another pl E
three weeks after for Paris, and I think both are
gonna be good, but SummerSlam needs a bigger build. If

(52:31):
you're gonna do two nights is the problem. And if
they didn't have evolution on the cards, I like it
as a concept. I would have preferred it after Summer Slam.
Maybe that would have been a September one, because then
it wouldn't have felt as oversaturated. We could add a
long build, a month long build to get to Summer

(52:51):
Slam for two nights, because that's I think what Summer
Slam is gonna end up missing. WrestleMania had weeks to
build up at least the matches to get there. You
really realistically build it from Royal Rumble. And I don't
want to keep too long because I know Ross starting,
But it doesn't feel like Summer Slam needs a two

(53:12):
night er because they are building it and I think
they'll remedy it next year after realizing what's happening.

Speaker 1 (53:19):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (53:20):
But it's going to feel awkward this year.

Speaker 1 (53:23):
M I like what you're saying. Uh, we got the lou.
I was hoping for a p l E every week.

Speaker 3 (53:30):
You can watch that XT. I'm sure they'll have it
in those days.

Speaker 1 (53:32):
Yeah, you know, Mac and.

Speaker 3 (53:35):
Foster did that thing, you know with the who can
say pussy the most?

Speaker 4 (53:41):
You know what, We're not doing this, no call up
aw I'm sure they got going on every.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
Week to see wrestling. Grun.

Speaker 4 (53:49):
Oh you mean he doesn't want to see bullshit from people.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
We're getting ready to put a pin and grun because
I know exactly where he's going and I'm going to
be his best friend and stop him before we did
to that point, So Grun, why don't you let him
know where they can find your beautiful blue eyes of villainous.
