gonna start off Saturday Night main event, then we're gonna

household herd Man Gruns discussions on this yesterday, Kevin, let
us know what your thoughts were on this. Well, this
event that happened.

So Saturday night main event felt very transitory to me
in that there wasn't it was basically Summer Slam build
up except for the Goldberg match. It was legitimately probably
one of the best Goldberg matches I've seen in like

ten fifteen years, can't. Yeah, that's the thing, Like people
are saying like, yeah, it's not so good or whatever,
But like, Goldberg was never one of the people to
put on like some a plus match that wasn't what
he was about. Nobody Goldberg probably wouldn't get on a

microphone and tell you that with a straight face. But
that's not what he was there for, and he was
good for business at the time. He was very lightning
lighting in a bottle. Gun Theer was the right person
to pair him with because Gunther builds off of this
wind going forward by beating some guy like Goldberg and
retiring him because now he can crow about retiring Goldberg

for the next ever. Yeah, And on top of that,
gun Theer was the right choice because Gunther can have
an A plus match with a broomstick, So because of that,
put Goldberg with him because Goldberg will look better than
if someone who couldn't lead him was in there, and
they can get the business. So I think this match

was I jay Uso stuff aside in changing the title
and then just looking towards the looking towards getting it
off of him. I thought this was the right match
for Gunther before a Summer Slam match that's going to
be probably higher profile, which we'll get into more when
we get into the raw preview, but just judging by

the options at his disposal, it's going to be higher profile.
And I think it was the right move here again
jay Uso aside, because we can debate that up the wall.

When it comes to the questions. I thought the solo
so CoA match was a little throwaway, but it did
get Fatu back with Jimmy, and I think that's what

to get there and that was the best way to

the standoff and back and forth between Tree and Jacob.

I like solo doing this. I like the standoffs between

that's gonna work out well. And then the Orton McIntyre

match was a way to get to a tag match
at SummerSlam. It's it's gonna this is my prediction. It's
gonna be jelly Roll in Orton against Logan, Paul and
Drew McIntyre. And for a celebrity match, that's fine. Yeah,
the celebrity in there. Jelly Roll can have his fun.
He's slimmed down enough that it doesn't look like he's

gonna die if he gets hit with something. And I
think it's I think it's gonna work out just fine.
It'll it'll be a good celebrity match because Orton. It's
right to pair jelly Roll with Orton because Orton can
make anything work and direct him super well in that scenario.

Yeah, And I mean to be fair, Logan is proving
himself time and time again that he can he can
go in a match, and he they're trusting him with
a little more I believe. I mean, to me, the
last guy I can remember who made a successful transfer
from what they were doing to the wrestling world would

remember the most who successfully went. I mean he was
running around with the four Horsemen. He was doing his thing.

whole stick. And I loved the attitude he gave towards

that was the right call, and I think that's worth

is going to face Gunther. My assumption, especially with Seth's injury,
is that it's going to be punk. Oh, because the

biggest funny match that they could have at Summer Slam
out of those ones is punk and I think it's
I think it's too early for Breaker because he's still
with the group and he's a heel and Gunther is
a heel man. They could pull the trigger on other things.
They could do something like a Penta. If they have

do La Night. I don't think that that would be

it look devastating without a lot of injuries after the match,

Great American Bash, I thought. I thought all of all
the matches did quite well. The Ricky Starks Ethan Page
match was wild chaos, but in a way that overall
made sense in trying to use the way they did.
And then we had another nose hold, no holds barred

the next night for Evolution, which we'll get to that
I thought did really well with that too, and used
kind of the environment in weirder like, more unique ways.
So I really enjoyed that match because I don't usually
like those kinds of matches, but they eat the page
and Ricky Starks are guys that they make it work,
because usually when it comes to hardcore matches like aw ones,

I don't tend to like because they tend to go
too far. And then I wonder, and then I wonder
why that it isn't the pinfall yet for another ten minutes?
Is what it is. That's how they book their matches,
and it's okay. There's a sectional audience that enjoys that clearly,
but usually in hardcore matches. I'll see I'll see a
big bump and then I'll go, oh my god, oh

my god, this is a great finish and then it isn't.

And then they'll they'll pick them up and hit their

Yeah. Yeah, that's what always hated me about New Jack matches.
If he was losing, they would he would do these
magnificent feats and then all of a sudden, a clothesline

move to get it over do it as the setup
to whatever you're doing. Yeah, if you if you use
the stone Cold stunner. Let's say Stone Cold was finishing
a hardcore match. He uses the stone Cold stunner. But
maybe he does the stone Cold stunner through a chair
because they're head's in it like that's something. Or you
do a stone Cold stunner they fall because it's a

stunner onto a table and then stone Cold hits with
an elbow drop one, two, three, like here we are.
Now you've used the gimmick of the match. That to
me is the psychology and using those things, and there
is an art to it, and there's an art to
not giving into your weirdest adaptations and going too far
with it and going, oh, well, then we're just gonna
do this. Like Ricky Starks and Page rode that line

well for me, I agree, and I think those two
guys really are flourishing more in NXT than they did
in AEW and are given the chance to do it.
I thought Starks had a good aw run honestly until
it was until it was unceremoniously stopped, probably because he
didn't want to resign, and that's business. That's business. But

I think both of them are really taking the ball
and running with it and NXT, and I look forward
to seeing them on the main roster when when if
they end up there, because we never know with careers.

his favorite match of all of Saturday. That's awesome. Yeah,
I enjoyed that match a lot. I Honestly, what you're saying,
Kevin is exactly what happened. These two realized what they

beautifully violent picture. And just Chef's kiss to that one.
It was a great match. Any other matches that you
want to hit from a great American bash.

like as a worker, but I just it just felt

about ww's storytelling and and the storytelling seems to be
Josh Brakes is going to turn on in Amura. Yeah,
so this match had purpose in a Mura's on is
all about honor. So we'll probably get a great match
out of Briggs and Inamara. Standard deliver maybe is probably.

Maybe I can definitely see that happening. Josh Brees not

dishonorable during that match in a Murra stops him, that

that all of this felt shoved together. It wasn't well structured,
and these women, I don't know what they all stood
on ten toes backstage and said we are going to
tear the house down, and they did it. Let's hear

Man, I can't possibly catch everything that was just fantastic
on this show, So I'll hit a couple of my
personal highlights.

I loved that they quickly turned Mariah Monroe slash Blake
and Roe. I like that she's back to you. I
like the cheesy heel quickly, and I think they did
it well.

It was quick. But so I talked about this with
somebody recently and I kind of I didn't like c
see this one coming, but it makes a lot of
sense to me. Is and it's one of the possibilities
that I had laid out, and it's you cannot have
someone jump ship from aw and immediately make them a

heel on WW. It's not gonna work that way. It's
too big of a signing. You have to bring them
in as a face first, but you don't have to
keep them as a face for long. And that's the key,
because I think Mariah May she does well as a face,
but she shines as a heel, and I think she's

gonna be a force going forward with NXT, and I

thought the Battle Royal was good. Annie out loud said
it was one of the best Battle Royals she's ever seen. Wow.

can't disagree that it was a really good Battle Royal

just fly around and get mismatched with each other. They
didn't they it seemed pretty seamless. There wasn't a lot
of with twenty bodies, something's gonna get meshed in. Yeah,
that's just gonna happen. But for everything that went down,
they hit a lot of story beats. They got a
lot of characters over. Everyone felt like they took their

moment and lash Legend really got a nice feature in
that to really start elevating her. It seems like they've
taken a back seat and pushing her. I'm I'm hoping
that this begins something. I'm not gonna be the Internet

you notice in the Battle Royal when they were doing

So Saturday night main event felt very transitory to me
in that there wasn't it was basically Summer Slam build
up except for the Goldberg match. It was legitimately probably
one of the best Goldberg matches I've seen in like

are saying like, yeah, it's not so good or whatever,
But like, Goldberg was never one of the people to
put on like some a plus match that wasn't what
he was about. Nobody Goldberg probably wouldn't get on a

that's not what he was there for, and he was
good for business at the time. He was very lightning
lighting in a bottle. Gun Theer was the right person
to pair him with because Gunther builds off of this
wind going forward by beating some guy like Goldberg and

for the next ever. Yeah, And on top of that,
gun Theer was the right choice because Gunther can have
an A plus match with a broomstick, So because of that,
put Goldberg with him because Goldberg will look better than
if someone who couldn't lead him was in there, and
they can get the business. So I think this match

was I jay Uso stuff aside in changing the title
and then just looking towards the looking towards getting it
off of him. I thought this was the right match
for Gunther before a Summer Slam match that's going to
be probably higher profile, which we'll get into more when
we get into the raw preview, but just judging by

the options at his disposal, it's going to be higher profile.
And I think it was the right move here again
jay Uso aside, because we can debate that up the wall.

I thought did really well with that too, and used
kind of the environment in weirder like, more unique ways.
So I really enjoyed that match because I don't usually
like those kinds of matches, but they eat the page
and Ricky Starks are guys that they make it work,

I don't tend to like because they tend to go

why that it isn't the pinfall yet for another ten minutes?

and it's okay. There's a sectional audience that enjoys that clearly,

guys really are flourishing more in NXT than they did
in AEW and are given the chance to do it.

and running with it and NXT, and I look forward

think I look forward to her and Jordan Grace putting
on some just banger matches.

I thought, and actually Annie said this out loud. I
thought the Battle Royal was good. Annie out loud said
it was one of the best Battle Royals she's ever seen. Wow.

can't disagree that it was a really good Battle Royal
because they they didn't cluster fuck each other. They didn't

just fly around and get mismatched with each other. They
didn't they it seemed pretty seamless. There wasn't a lot
of with twenty bodies, something's gonna get meshed in. Yeah,
that's just gonna happen. But for everything that went down,
they hit a lot of story beats. They got a
lot of characters over. Everyone felt like they took their

moment and lash Legend really got a nice feature in
that to really start elevating her. It seems like they've
taken a back seat and pushing her. I'm I'm hoping
that this begins something. I'm not gonna be the Internet
and jump to Oh they need to feature her and
push her right now, because I don't think that's true.

you notice in the Battle Royal when they were doing

seen that and I was like, finally somebody gets it.
They understand you have to make room for what you're

won and proved everybody that she you need to proceed
with caution when she's anywhere in the facility. Man, what

Tiffany Stratton. I bet they lead to a Bianca and
