(07:42):
They are one of my fabulous dragchildren. I have known them for over
ten years. They actually were atmy wedding and they have moved away from
the area. But I am alwayshappy when I get to spend some time
with my kids. So let uswelcome to inside the drag closet, is
he ah he Yeah, Hey everyone, how's it going good? Why don't

(08:07):
you give us a little who what? And where about you? Well?
I'm Issy He. I'm also knownas Hollis Taylor, and you know I'm
an author and generically a weirdo.And when I'm a drag, I like
to be called Issy. And whatam I wearing? Well, this is
another one of my sort of personasthat came out of my drag creativity.

(08:33):
My name is Toby long Bottom.I am a great adventurer from the Land
of long Bottom. Yeah exactly.I grow long Bottom leaf in the Land
of long Bottom, and so that'swhat this outfit's all about. I made
up my own hobbit for the fairand I haven't been in it since COVID,

(08:56):
so it's a lot of fun tobring him back. And Toby's a
lot of fun. The first timeI did Toby was a first time I
did a hobbit was in a competitionfor creative costume. So it's a fun
thing. And where can you findme? You can find me online.
You can look up is he he, and you could just go to my
website, Divine Androgen dot com andthen you can find me just about anywhere.

(09:22):
Amazing. Now is he a bigfocus for this month for Inside the
Dry Closet is we wanted to bringback guests who had been on the show
before but have impacted us in someway, And I want to know what
have you been up to since youwere last on Inside the Drag Closet.
Well, I actually started a reallycool show with my drag I don't know.

(09:46):
I call him my drag brother. His name is Lacrosse Ortiz, so
some of you guys may know him. And Lacrosse and I got together because
well, we kind of have aninterest in spiritual things, and so we
thought it would be nice if insteadof telling queers that they that they're wrong

(10:09):
in a spiritual manner, we say, actually, you are sacred because you
are trans or non binary or whatever. So in other words, you are
sacred because you're a drag queen. So even you did, you are doing
sacred work by doing what you're doingso that it's actually important for human evolution.

(10:35):
So we kind of have serious sinceand my serious conversations on rainbow soul.
So that's been my big thing andit's been a lot of fun just
exploring all kinds of topics. Wehave indigenous people on indigenous tribes because Lacrosse
is Indigenous, and we've done mediumreadings and last week we had an open

(11:01):
Salan ritual. Swan is another namefor Halloween. So for those of you
who don't understand what sawin is,you're probably just wondering. I've never heard
that word before. You have seenthat word before, and you have probably
mispronounced it as sam Hayne. Itis not pronounced sam haying, kids,
it is sawin. And I believethat is the Welsh term. Yeah,

(11:24):
it's from It's from the Celtic. And like Lacrosse always says, hey,
we're all indigenous to somewhere. Sofor me, I'm a white person last
I checked, and so that meansthat my family's probably my roots are probably
from over there somewhere, and II resonate that's kind of where Halloween came

(11:45):
from. Just so you all know, it is. When the when the
super Christians say Halloween's a Hagan holiday, they're not lying, they're actually telling
the truth and it's valid everyone.I've always hated people using the term pagan
as a negative because the term paganmeans polytheistic, that's it, or it

(12:09):
used to mean country. People usedto just true live thousand country. So
for me, technically here in Denverand color I mean Denver's like forty minutes
away, but I live out inthe country. I live out in the
forest. My closest neighbor is atreat. Yeah. Last, with all

(12:31):
that long bottom weed, well they'rereally quiet. Yeah, I could just
grow long bottom leave and life isgreat. Amazing. I love some of
the comments we're getting right now arejust amazing. Amen. Even as a
follower of Jesus, I approve ofthis message. Rainbow Soul is such a
beautiful concept because people always see usas drag performers but don't think about like

(12:54):
the spirituality of what we do.I mean, my for me, it's
very separate. You know, Mydrag is one thing. My spirituality or
lack thereof, is a completely separatething. But that's not the same for
everyone. So and I think wedon't just talk about drag. We talk
about being trans to or queer ingeneral and living a queer life. And

(13:18):
we're also coexists. We believe inco exists. So if you don't,
I've never heard the coexist thing. It essentially means that no matter what spiritual
path you walk, whether you're aworshiper of Geus or not, everybody is
going to the same place. We'rejust doing it differently. Oh. I
love that statement. We're all goingto the same place, it's just we're

(13:43):
getting there differently. Yeah. Andin the end, we all just need
to be good to each other andrespect each other. That's so true.
Yea, our darling, Trent Hexhamsays, love everything you're doing for the
queer community. Thank you, Trent. We love Trent. Here on it
inside the Drag Closet. The Islandof Misfit Toys also loves this. I

(14:03):
love that name. I'm sorry, well, I need a nap. Oh.
I see Jamie Angel. I amlooking forward to being with you on
Rainbow Soul on the twenty first.Yeah, Eve is going to be featured
as an artist, very special artist. I've told this story once, but

(14:30):
I'm going to tell it a milliontimes. I got to work with them
just reinstantly in York, and theymoved me to Tears performing True Colors by
Cindi Lauper because they it was veryfascinating in that moment, because Jamie Angel
is in a wheelchair and signs andI never put two and two together that

(14:52):
they can't sign and move at thesame time. So they came out signed
the number and just everyone was movedin that moment, and it was just
it was beautiful to watch. Andthey are so ridiculously talented, yeah,
and really amazing artists. So Ithink we're in for a huge treat.
Hopefully you can check it out RainbowSoul We're on Sunday nights. You could

(15:15):
just look up Rainbow Soul podcast andyou'll find it YouTube, Facebook, Twitch,
and we're about to come up witha website, Rainbow Soul dot Show.
You go to Divine Androgen you'll findit nice. We're dating for the
we're waiting for the right thing tohappen. Rainbow Soul dot show might be
working as of now. Actually,I love that. I love the time

(15:37):
delay of technology. It's always fun. Yeah, exactly. Speaking of technology,
we were talking about it earlier. You can always watch Inside the Drag
Closet on www dot jtvier dot com. So make sure you are liking and
subscribing to the show, and ifyou're watching on Facebook, please share that

(15:58):
you're watching the show right now.Share it. That's how we get noticed.
Um. Just you know that littleshare button down at the bottom,
go right ahead. You know it'sshare, not oh share. Um,
I need a nap. Oh mygod, I had the day off and
I'm just I'm loopy today. Soum, Izzy, it has been it

(16:19):
has been a long time since wehave hung out, and I miss you
terribly. But what is one thingduring this year of COVID that you have
gone? I want to do thatonce we get back to performing in person.
Um, I think, uh,well, I think it might be

(16:44):
this. I think it might beHobbit, I mean my hobbit Toby,
but I don't know. I havea couple of other numbers that are kind
of like I have this one abouta captain captain look with a captain's hat,
and I don't want to say toomuch about it because it would be
it would be a treat and itcould happen. It could happen sooner rather

(17:07):
than later, especially here in Denver. Nice. Sorry, I'm just commenting
on one of the questions. Sadlyare inside the drag closet logo is blocking
your pronouns, so I'm making sureto cover that. Is he does use
day them pronouns. We were talkingabout pronouns earlier before the show started,

(17:33):
just because there are so many newpronouns coming up all the time, and
some of them I find amazing andfascinating. What is one form of pronoun
that you're just like, oh,I had never thought of that. I
actually liked the z ones, zimsor I think they're pretty cool. And
in fact, I encourage people thataren't that are playing around with neutral pronouns

(18:00):
to use them on me. Theyyou don't have to use they them.
I just use that because that's thesimplest one for people to use. But
I've known some people that were kindof nerdy and they like to play around
with pronouns and playing around with howto say things, and so I'm like,
yeah, go ahead, totally useany gender neutral pronoun for me,

(18:22):
any any gender neutral pronoun you want. And um, I even have a
friend that actually she's one of theeditors. Fay is the editor. See,
they don't use regular pronouns um.They use fay. That is their
pronoun um, And so I alwaysget confused how to talk about them,

(18:45):
and so Fay like me to referto them as Fay instead. Of they
or she, um, she's okayif you do, like Fay doesn't get
offended. But they likes to useFay and Fay was the editor for my
book Divine Androgen, and they're they'realso autistic, So I just kind of

(19:08):
use them all if they thinks that'sgreat, nice, because trying to use
the words is the hard part, right, Like, if you're typing it,
you can just erase what you said, but if you're speaking it,
it's a little harder. Yeah,And one of the things I've always learned
is if you mis gender someone, fix it, don't belabor the fact,

(19:33):
and learn from it. You know, I did it tonight, So you
fix it and you move on andyou don't make the mistake again. In
a new job I am undertaking,I'm we do have someone who uses they
them pronouns, and nobody at thejob will use they them pronouns. Well,
they're not gonna like me when Icome in because I'm going to tell

(19:55):
them that is not their pronoun Pleaseaddress them correctly or this become a problem,
simple as that. Yeah, Andsometimes I do that for children,
especially young children that don't can't tellme otherwise if they're too little. I
just use they until and I saythat to the parents, and the parents

(20:18):
are always kind of some parents arekind of impressed because they're like, oh,
that's nice of you to consider thatmy child may not be wow,
okay, and then that really getstheir brain going, especially if their allies.
Anyway. Yeah, yeah, Soone more thing before we move on

(20:41):
to our next guest. I like, because I love it. I want
to talk about the dancing hippo. That's like the best and I it's so
made for drag Queen's story time, perfect for story time. I just love

(21:02):
that your partner Brighthawk, has comeup with a children's book that tackle it.
It demystifies No, how do Ieven word this? Well, first
of all, it doesn't have anygender pronouns, so all of the characters
in the story are just we justuse they for them, or we use

(21:26):
the hippo or the elephant um.And there's actually I have a little story
to tell you why we really shiftedit. When when my partner she actually
she does okay with she pronounced, but she also is a little gender variant
and has always thought about that inherself. And when we as a storyteller,

(21:51):
I'm the great hobbit that comes alongand helps sprangle the kids, you
know, and because I'm particularly goodwith kids. And so here we are
at this little shop and there's thislittle kid in a small mountain town in
Colorado. And this little kid comesup and apparently they had been at the
library just the week prior, andthey wanted to make sure that Breydhawk was

(22:15):
going to tell the story the DancingHippo. And I was like, m
okay, and so I started answeringthe kid. I'm like, yeah,
yeah, don't worry. She alwaystells that story. She always tells the
story to this kid. And thekid is kind of like okay, right,
and they're all excited and excited, and they keep asking me like all

(22:37):
every minute, you know, likesit a kid, and I'm like,
yeah, don't worry, she'll tellit. And he goes and the child
says, well, the reason Iwant to listen to the story is because,
well, I like to wear girl'sclothes. But my dad said I'm
not allowed because i'm a boy.I'm actually i'd like to wear girl's clothes.

(23:03):
And I said, well, Idressed like a boy, and my
mom told me that I was agirl. And I realized as I watched
this child take in Brighthawk telling thestory, was that the story is exactly

(23:26):
the trans story. The hippo isdancing and the elephant comes out and says,
no, hippos are not allowed todance. Hippos don't dance, what's
wrong with you? And then thehippo goes through this whole emotional thing and
meets all these little characters that tellsthem otherwise, and then they go back

(23:48):
to being dancing. At the end. It is the trans story without being
the trans story, if you knowwhat I'm saying. And so then finally
the hippo falls into the light andwow. And so when we were done
this gig, I say to mypartner, bright Hawk, I'm like,

(24:10):
Brighthawk, this story has to beno gender pronounce I know she was really
working hard not to gender any ofthe characters in the story. And she
was like, oh, And Iexplained what happened with the little kid who
was so identifying with the hippo, and if you watch this child listen to

(24:32):
the story, he was like, you know, they were just so cute.
And the artwork. The artwork wasby Amanda Jay Moore who's a really
great artist who's actually working on hersecond book, and she's a great ally.
She's a really special ally. Andthe special thing about this book is

(24:56):
that it's it's phenomenal in that itis the story, the trans story it
is. And I also want tosay that as the publisher, and I
created the e book. So ifyou right now, we have a sale
at Brighthawk Productions dot com and ifyou go order that book, you get

(25:17):
the e book for free where Bradhawktells the story, plays handpan music and
I edited it with some animal soundsand it's beautiful. You can see the
preview on the website. That's amazingmy first e book. Message me the
link so we can post it.Yeah, but we are going to move

(25:38):
on to our next guest, butwe will have you back after the commercial
break. Yeah, it's it's soweird to not have my co host here
to bounce things off of. So, like, my brain's going in a
million different directions. But I'm goingto put that link up. Is he
We'll talk to you in a fewminutes. Okay, I adore them so

(26:03):
much. Why is nothing working?Okay, let me get that link up
for all of you. You justgo to Oh my gosh, I do
not know how to internet tonight.Just check it out over at brighthot productions
dot com. Come on posted onall of the things there we go.
You can check it out brighthawk Productionsdot com. Brighthawk is so talented and

(26:27):
so amazing and such a gentle soul. I adore her so much. But
we have another guest to get to, and I am so excited. I
found this guest on TikTok many monthsago, and when they were on,
we had such a good time.We were having so much fun, and
I knew in this month I wantedto bring them back. So let's welcome.

(26:51):
Wait, let me let me pressother buttons first. Gosh, wow,
this is what happens when mama hasto do all the work by herself.
Let's welcome back to Inside the DragCloset, the incredible Jay Crimson.
Why can't I press Hello? Hi? Everybody you get I'm falling apart over

(27:15):
here? Jay? Alrighty j giveus a little who what we're about?
Hello? My name is Jay Crimson. You can call me Jay, or
you can call me tonight if you'redesperate. I'm a Canadian dragging that cash.
But wow, words today are hardthat the Appalachian Mountains, which is
one hell of a culture shock.Let me tell you. I am a

(27:37):
TikTok or, a Twitch streamer, mental health advocate, chaotic individual, and
overall very fucking gay. I amthe resident chaotic creative cryptid on Twitch and
TikTok and a proud member of Teamstream Queens on Twitch ideal in good times
of bad gaming and of course alot of chaos. I am also two
spirit from the Ojibwe nation. Sowhat I'm airing is on my face.

(28:00):
I'm wearing a lot of may Rounin the elf. I am wearing Amazon,
Amazon Spirit, Halloween thrift stores, and as far as my jewels go,
they go from the amazing video ofFae. And where can we find
you? You can find me overon any social media if you look up
King Jay Crimson, or you cango to Jay Crimson dot com and find

(28:22):
all of my socials there. ButI'm mostly on Twitch five days a week,
Twitch dot Tv, slash King JayCrimson. Nice, you got right
to the point. Yeah, I'mused to saying it like five days a
week. So what is new andexciting with you? Since the last time
you were on Oh, a wholelot of the same thing. I'm mostly
just on Twitch a lot. Iget into makeup, I play a bunch

(28:48):
of games, and overall much awhole lot of chaotic, chaotic stuff.
I'm jingling in a way. Sorry. Recently, I've been doing a whole
lot of indigenous stuff. I recentlystarted connecting with the Ojibwe nation and connecting
with my people and kind of divinghead first into that, which is what
all this is for today, especiallyfor Indigenous Heritage Month. I love your

(29:11):
makeup. Thank you. Yeah,So that's kind of what I've been up
to is the last i'd say threetwo, two and a half to three
months. I've been doing a lotof indigenous paints and Indigenous outreach and teaching
and learning and things like that.Yeah, tast I moved. I moved

(29:32):
to the Appalachians like two months ago, so it's been it's been hectic,
to say the least. Yeah, you were saying like your your body was
just like not used to the temperature. Oh my god. Yeah. So
I grew up on Vancouver Island, which is on the water, super humid,
really temperate, weathers, really mild, and then I came here and
I thought, it's, you knowin Ontario, the same thing as it's
you know, not that high upin elevation, because I moved to Ontario

(29:56):
a year and a half ago andit was you know, mild temperatures ish
very humid, so I was kindof used to the humidity already, and
then I came here. It's like, I'm not even that far away,
so it shouldn't be that bad,Like I'm not that farce out. But
it's so much hotter than I expectedit to be and so dry. I

(30:19):
my face felt really weird, likeafter the first week, and then it
just, oh, it was awful. I had like my skin was cracking
really bad. I had nosebleeds allthe time. It turns out I'm ridiculously
allergic to something out here too.I think it's ragweed. It was not
a good time. I had tostop doing makeup for like two weeks.
I was so mad. But it'sbetter now. Nice. You're getting a

(30:45):
lot of compliments on your makeup. He frown loves it. Vicky is saying
your makeup is so beautiful, Thankyou so much. He wants to know
where did you move to. Imoved to West Virginia. Yep, last
time you were still up in Canada, I was, Yes, I am

(31:06):
Canadian very much. Uh, how'sit going a Canadian? Um? So,
it's it's it's quite the culture shock. Uh why are your drinks at
McDonald's so big? That's that's mybiggest question. Mind your business, that's
why. Um. So you've beenleaning very heavily into your heritage lately.

(31:32):
What has that been like? Oh? Massively huge? Um it's a beautiful
journey. So I'm I learning notonly about myself, but like how I
grew up. So I grew upin a very very white household, Like
there's no denying I'm a I'm apale freaking person. And it was it's

(31:52):
a huge it was a huge cultureand journey for me to go from that
to where I am now and likedecolonizing my life and learning about why I
do the things I why I didthe things I did, and why I
believe the the things I believed tolooking at it from a decolonized perspective,
and it's it's been one hell ofa spiritual journey, like absolutely phenomenal.

(32:15):
I can't ask for I can't askfor a better story. Last last six
months has been has been incredible, and I don't really know how else to
explain it otherwise other than just I'mvery, very incredibly thankful for my Ojibwei
family. That's amazing. You knowa lot of people, well explain um,
because a lot of people don't understandthe different cultures. And there's actually

(32:39):
a very well known drag performer whois also of my cousin. Yes,
that would be Trixie Mattel. Sure, yeah, Trixie Mattel is Ojibway um
and my partner is also Jibway andthey're one who got me reconnected. I'm

(32:59):
very I'm jingling. I'm wearing bellsum very traditional to wear bells to talk
to the ancestors so they can hearyou. That's why I'm jingling away.
I'm not playing Christmas music. Ipromise that's funny. A Cryptid does stuff
says Facebook wouldn't let me say hi, So I'm on YouTube. Hello hello
Cryptid. Uh. And I cantell you and Violet love each other very

(33:22):
much because they're in the other roomright watching right now. Ah. I
love that. How long have youtwo known each other? We were in
the same um, so we metthrough a drag It was my very first
drag online I guess competition, andwe met through there and we kind of,

(33:45):
like I guess knew who who eachother were for a little while.
We didn't really start actually talking untilafter the show had ended, and it
kind of it happened. I don'twant to say it was like that typical
lesbian thing where like you've all inlove and then like move in like two
months later, but that kind ofdid happen. Yeah, it's been.

(34:08):
It was quite beautiful how it happened. And they just we just started talking
and it just kind of happened reallynaturally fast, if that makes any sense,
Like usually quick isn't natural, butin this case, it felt just
it felt perfect. That's amazing.Yeah. They always joke around like the
typical lesbian romance is like first date, you go out to dinner, Second

(34:29):
date, you get the U haul, Third date, you're buying another dog.
Yeah, and I don't think itwould have gone as fast if when
I was living in Ontario, Ihad moved from British Columbia to Ontario to
as a minor trigger warning for youall, I was escaping a very abusive
situation. I was leaving my husbandof ten years, who I had to

(34:51):
get arrested. It was a wholeordeal, and I moved to Ontario to
get away, and I unfortunately movedinto a very homophobic and transphobic house.
And I didn't think it was thatbad at the time, but then it
got really bad. And then Violetsaid, fuck that, you're moving in
with me, and that's kind ofwhat happened. So yeah, that's amazing.
So one thing we talked about beforethe show, and I'm very intrigued.

(35:15):
I've been waiting to ask you thissince you said it earlier. Okay,
you have not done a live showyet. I haven't. No,
I'm hoping to eventually get to ViceVersa in Morgantown. That's one of the
closest bars that do shows that areopen to kings. So I am a

(35:37):
quarantine king. Sorry, my headphonesare dying. Oh I'm so excited for
this. So I'm yeah, likeI said, I'm a quarantine king.
And it was really interesting how itcame about because I was going to debut,
Like in my hometown, they werelooking for drag kings and I said,

(35:59):
I've never done it before, butI sure would love to do it,
and they said great, awesome, that's great, and then you can
show up. And then the dayI was supposed to like go to this
one bar, which was you knowkind of ye anyway, it just didn't
happen because quarantine had hit that night. And there we go to my headphone,

(36:19):
just connect us and I'll be ableto hear you. Yeah, And
so quarantine happened. And that wasMarch of twenty twenty. And then I
just sort of kept doing it andI was mostly on TikTok at the time,
and then I found out that therewere drag kings and stuff doing competitions
on Instagram and Facebook, and soI got involved in that and then just
kept going. And then it movedover to Twitch and started doing a whole

(36:39):
lot of Twitch stuff. And nowthe quarantine is not quite over, but
it's getting a little bit safer forpeople to perform. Now, I still
haven't. I still haven't I guesspopped the live cherry yet. So what
do you think your first number isgoing to be? Oh, I've thought
about this, and one of myfavorite performances that I ever did on the

(37:04):
virtual stage was my very popular DemonKing Look to Eagles are ruining my life
by Corpse husband, So I thinkI would probably recreate that because it's one
of my staple looks. I lovethat look so much, and I love
Corpse very very much. I lovehis music, So I'd probably do that

(37:24):
because I do like doing the likethe scary, sexy things like that's kind
of my stick. So we hada king on recently, Dante Virgil.
I love Dante. Oh he wasso much fun. He's taking a bit
of a break right now for hishealth, but he was so fun,
Like I could see the two ofyou collaborating. Oh totally, Oh totally

(37:47):
Dante's Dante's work is absolutely phenomenal,so phenomenal. He is such an artist,
and it's I don't understand the process, and I love that I don't
understand the process. It just captivating, so captivating. Jamie Angel just said,

(38:09):
now, when you tell people youare looking forward to being somewhere with
I'll be there with bells on,people will wonder if you mean it literally
or figuratively. I know, Ohmy goodness. So typically, in at
least in on a shanave, you'veprobably heard of jingle dresses. A lot
of women will wear these jingle dresses. Men obviously don't wear jingle dresses,

(38:30):
but they do wear bells on theirwrists and ankles, and so that's why
I'm wearing the bells today. Andit's more of a telling the ancestors and
the spirits where I am so theycan hear me. Oh, I love
that. That's fascinating. Oh,I'm so excited to chat with you more.
But we do need to take aquick commercial break. When we come

to let all of you ask meanything. You can just type that in
the chat. I will do mybest to answer every single question that comes

(43:14):
in. So I'm ready when youare. I love doing stuff like this.
It always becomes absolute shenanigans. There'salso a time delay from stream yard
to live, so I've got aminute to just figure out what exactly is
going on. I'm really loving thisdress, except it is not fitting right,
so kind of bummed. I losta bunch of weight. All of

(43:37):
my two X stuff was a littletoo big. Vicky got the first question.
Mashed potatoes are sweet potatoes? Mashedpotatoes? I don't know why.
And they have to have gravy onthem or else? No, thank you.
Has anyone ever restarted or stopped afteran instant? After an incident?
Oh? There it is? Worstperformance incidents you've done and seen? Noting

(44:00):
wigs coming off her stage falling.I feel very called out. Um worst
incident I've ever seen. Um,I really saw a bad incident in person.
I have seen some terrible stuff, like girls seriously, No, I
know what it was. There wasa girl performing out a venue. I
know she's spun on the show, and I'm blanking on her name right now.

(44:21):
She sat up on a balke oron a railing and went off the
end and fell downstairs. There isno recovering after that. Robin says,
if there was one food item youcould only eat for the rest of your
life, what would it be?An nagi role with some tempora on it,
something like that. Ryan, whatwas the first musical you ever performed

(44:49):
in and what was your role?I was in kindergarten. It was The
Teddy Bear Tea Party, too little, cheesy little thing. In third grade,
I was in The Jungle Book andI played Bagheera the Panther. Raven
wants to know what are your thoughtson bars not giving spots to alt drag
artists A fab King's obviously, Idon't like that. I think everybody should

(45:19):
have equal opportunities to go out andperform everywhere. I know some venues are
very skeptical about certain types of drag. I think they need to get over
it, and I think they needto start booking more. How did you
word at alt drag artists. Ilove that we obviously inside the drag closet
is very open to all styles ofdrag. I want more show directors to

(45:43):
be on the same page with that. Cassie wants to know what is my
least favorite part of drag putting iton? I love doing drag. I
hate getting into drag. I absolutelyloathe it. Every time I sit down
here to do my makeup and everything, I'm just like this again, Really,

(46:05):
Eve Brown, any tricks for applyingmakeup if your face breaks out to
minimize them. Oh. I havehad very problematic skin for a long time.
I've had a chemical peel done.I don't recommend going out and doing
it to everybody, as you can. If I go like this one you
can see my hairline is instinct down, and two I am acne scarred.

(46:30):
There's nothing I can do to fixthat at this point other than really expensive
procedures that I can't afford to do. I don't really break out anymore,
which I'm very grateful for. Iwash my face and every time I get
out of drag. People think it'sso questionable that when I get out of

(46:52):
drag, all I do is getin the shower wash it off, and
I use shampoo to take my makeupoff. I haven't had any problems,
don't have problem skin anymore, somaybe that that does it. Trent Hexham,
what is your dream venue to performat? Oh? Sweet Jesus,
m oh damn. Um my dreamvenue? I want to perform at the

(47:23):
Blackfires Theater with Casha Davis. Ithink that would be the best show ever.
That would be amazing. O'rian. How did I meet my husband?
He was coming to a show tosupport a friend of his that did drag
and I was in the basement infull drag already with our good friend Aurora

(47:44):
f Sterling. He came up tous and was like, hey, do
you ladies know Aaron? And wewere like, who the hell is that?
It was our friend Tyra, whosadly is no longer with us,
but yeah, that's how we met. Um. We didn't hit it off
right away, but we hit itoff about a year and a half later,
so that's all that matters. Mostface friendly makeup, I'm not gonna

(48:09):
lie. I'm a huge fan ofthese cream sticks from Went and Wild.
They're just a foundation. They're reallygood. I have not had any problems
with them. They're very good coverage. Yeah, I love them. And
Cassie wants to know what is yourfavorite item in your drag closet? My

(48:37):
painting hoodie because it's the most comfortablething I have. Yeah, that's it
already. I think that was allthe questions. We're gonna get this evening.
That was fun. I enjoyed that. I love a rapid fire Q
and a session. I think theyare super fun. They're super therapeutic and
they get to let you know mea little bit more. But speaking of

(48:58):
getting to know people a bit more, we're going to bring back our fabulous
guests now at this point. Ifyou have any questions for them as well,
feel free to ask as we welcomeback Isia He and Jay Crimson.
Let me move some stuff around,Let's do this. Let's give you kids
the spotlight a little bit more. All right, it's fancy. So oh

(49:22):
Acrypted has another question, what's amakeup look? You wish you could do?
Any of them? Any of them. I am obsessed with a musical
group called Steampowered Giraffe. Yes,I love Steampowered Giraffe. I want to
do I've tried it once and Ihad mixed results with it. But I
want to do like an animatronic steampunkrobot. I'll do it at some point

(49:47):
on the show. I wanted to. I wanted to help Eve Eve.
There are organic makeup, and Iwashed my face with coconut oil. Oh.
I washed my face with an oiland multifier as well, and it
really helps. Yeah. If youuse coconut oil when you're done and wipe
it off with like a warm cloth, it comes right off and it helps

(50:10):
leave your skin like you kind oftreat it really good, and you can
I have like foundation and stuff. If you do a foundation that's organic,
you won't break out to that nicemy um. I've been using a primer
from Wet and Wild that's cucumber, which is probably just a whole bunch of

(50:31):
chemicals in a bottle, but butI like it. They have a lot
of those out here in Boulder.Yeah, yeah, Pennsylvania. You might
have to order them online. I'mall right with that. Yeah. I
last time I used an oil,I was using a peppermint oil for something

(50:52):
and I broke out so badly, like people thought I had a rash and
I was like, this is notgood. So sometimes the glue will make
my face breakout from putting on abeard. Yeah. Oh oh oh.

(51:13):
Ryan has a great question here.I have a question for Jay. My
next lesson plan for my preschoolers ison Native American culture. I'm having a
horrible time finding teaching materials that arenot super insensitive. One called I is
for Indian or super over their heads. I want to teach them to understand

(51:34):
beyond the stereotype. Do you haveany suggestions? Yes? I do?
Actually, um so, am Iallowed to plug my website real quick?
Absolutely? Go right, okay,go to my website, Jay Crimson dot
com and scroll down. I havetons of resources there right there on my
website for you to learn where whatyou're what you can do to help.
There's some education sources down at thebottom as well. Otherwise, you can
also go to Native hyphen Land dotCa and you can see exactly what nature

(52:00):
you are currently living on and reachout to the specific tribe in your area
and ask them if they have anyresources. Guarantee you there's some children's books
there that will be able to teachyou and be able to teach your kids.
Wow, that's awesome. How didhow do I word this? I

(52:22):
don't know how I word this justgo forward. We're in our group chat
during the commercial break and I'm like, I am an idiot tonight. I'm
just is it a bones day?I feel like it's not a bones day.
I have no idea. I don'tunderstand that reference. It's from TikTok.

(52:42):
How dare you? I'm on NativeLand dot c A right now trying
to figure out where exactly I am. Can you type in the exact city
and it'll tell you oh, wow, yeah, and then you click on
it and it'll give you all theresources and information about your the specific land
that you're on. It's a bonesday, all right, it doesn't feel

(53:07):
like it. So I am inoh, this is amazing cool. I
am very much in Susquehannock Territory. That's amazing. It's basically most of Pennsylvania
as Susquehannock. It is a bonesday. I need to figure out that

(53:30):
TikTok trend. Look up Noodles thepug. That's where it came from.
Noodles. I'm writing it down.So kids, if you have any questions
for our fabulous guests, by allmeans, feel free to ask them.
We can actually ask some of thequestions that we're already asked, um,
let's see um. Actually I wantto I want us all to answer this

(53:54):
question from Raven Johnston. What areyour thoughts and bars not giving spots to
all drag artists. I think thatthey need to get with the fucking times.
It's really frustrating when spots are likeyou hear about inclusivity and it's not
really inclusive. It's like you lookat their lineup and there's maybe one black

(54:15):
artist, there's maybe one king.If you're really likey, there might be
a non binary artist, but that'sit. It's like, that's not really
inclusive. That feels more like adocan And I'd like to see a much
more diverse cast when I look atlineups, because it's more than just real
girl queens so much more. Iwant to say that depending on where you

(54:39):
are in the country, where youare in the United States, I don't
know how Canada is because I haven'tbeen there much. But I haven't been
there at all yet, but Iplan to drive across it, but in
places like Portland, although it's notvery colorful as far as race goes,
but generally it's not very colorful inOregon. Um, but in general they're

(55:06):
usually pretty inclusive as far as nonbinary or gender variants drag and I would
say, actually, here in Denverit's pretty open, but if you go,
like outside of the city, thenit starts to get a little bit
more like what you guys are talkingabout, just drag queens, just white

(55:31):
drag queens. And I haven't foundthat Harrisburg was particularly like that. Harrisburg
always had a couple of people ofcolor, usually and usually once if kings
were available, they're usually included. Not always, but sometimes there were shows

(55:51):
that were all kings. Um andUM. I mean, you know,
for me personally though here in theplaces that I've traveled in the country and
ben in drag shows, it reallydepends on where you are in the country
and how diverse that area is.That particular city right like Denver is particularly

(56:12):
diverse, So if you go toa Denver drag show, you're likely to
see a pretty diverse cast. Umand you know here um, A lot
of it's interesting because a lot ofthe bar owners want you to have a
drag king and a drag queen runningthe show. Oh, they don't want

(56:37):
one or the other, they wanttwo. Um so, but that's just
here. Um because it's more appealing, it brings in more people, so
it brings in more of a diversecrowd. And Denver is very diverse,
mean compared to other compared to Harrisburg, it's hugely diverse. Are Prideboard out

(57:00):
here in Central Pa? And Ihave to throw a lot of credit to
the incredible Scarlet Overkill. We havedecided we are now going to have a
mixed title for Pride Love that itis no longer going to be mister and
Miss. It is now going tobe mixed MX. I love it.

(57:22):
We got a comment from Diva's downUnder. We try very hard to include
performers of all kinds. Yes,we love that, which is very true.
We don't. While a lot ofpeople thank me for getting them in
that show, I don't get anybodyinto that show. That's my husband's show,
and he doesn't ask me a damnthing. But we have had mixed

(57:43):
results using kings before, which Ihate. But the audience just doesn't understand,
and I'm like, why why don'tyou get it? Like it's still
drag, But because maybe they're onlysorry I didn't mean to interrupt. I
think sometimes with a lot of peoplewho are like really into drag. Their
only real exposure to drag is RuPaulum, which is unfortunate, so unfortunate

(58:08):
because that's not just drag, Like, there's so much more. That's a
tiny little snippet um and you you'remissing the rest of the iceberg. Yeah,
I found I found the Harrisburg Crew, like the Harrisburg crowd um stumbled
on drag. Especially. I rememberwhen I first came out as a drag
king, it was like people hada hard time comfort I'm like, why

(58:30):
is this sunny different um than beinga drag queen? You know. Uh,
but I'll tell you other parts ofthe country are not like that.
So like I don't haven't you goneto Delaware? Right? Delaware is a
little bit less. Delaware is alittle bit more. And especially like Rohomo

(58:52):
sorry Rehobeth, I grew up there. I'm allowed to paula rhomo um.
And you know, I found themto be although they're lacking in kings,
they're open to kings, and thecrowd seems to appreciate kings. There are
very few kings in that area. And I've done a few gigs in Delaware

(59:14):
and I have not worked with aking down there yet, but I would
like to emphasize yet because it's goingto happen. I just haven't met them
yet. Um, that's what happenswhen Jay Xavier retires, when he comes
out of retirement, I'm going towork with him, right Jay, Yes,
talking to me, I was reallyconfused. There's an amazing, amazing

(59:38):
transman down in Delaware. Jay Xavier. He was on the show two months
ago and just super knowledgeable, superintelligent. He used to be a king.
He's thinking about doing it again,but he's like, I don't know.
I'm like, do it, doit? I always say the world
needs more kings. It does.I was very step the first month you

(01:00:05):
both were on. We dedicated thewhole month to kings, and that last
show of that month, me andall of my co host did king looks
and we had I saw that Ohmuch fun. Oh you guys looked incredible.
I'm never painting chest hair on again. I like my shower looked like

(01:00:28):
it was just this is why Ijust want to get like a silicone suit.
I just want to get my elmyself some man flesh and then just
paint it once and I'm done.Smart. Eve Brown always with the really
good questions. If you had toconvert, wait, if you had to
convert only items in your existing dailywear wardrobe and things around your house not

(01:00:51):
associated with anything you have ever donein drag for an impromptu drag performance,
what should your go to items beand what type of performance would you do
in them? Like, are wetalking like makeup two or just like clothing
in pieces? Because I guess forme, like my wigs would be out,
but I could style my hair.I suppose I've got I've got enough

(01:01:13):
hair to make a cool style.I started with just a closet stuff.
I started really poor, and likeonly I stole it. I stole a
jacket from my dad, and Iwent to Walmart and I got like the
manliest kind of button down shirt Icould find. And so I think I
could make it work. I wouldjust be going back to my roots.
I wouldn't be able to have anyof the jewels anymore. But like I

(01:01:34):
could make it work, I don'tknow. I managed to do like an
ACDC type of song, really simplesong ac DC, and I took a
jean jacket, cut off the sleevesand just wore like a U like flannel
shirt with it, like I justgot in my style and then if you
you know, and I didn't haveto work that hard and I wore one

(01:01:58):
of the halts than I already hadand it was really just stuff out of
my closet. But I ended updoing this whole performance about a CDC um
So you know, there's always youcan always be creative. For me,
it's more about the performance, moreabout the dance, more about the interaction

(01:02:20):
with the get with the audience. So for me, like I'm I'm I'm
the performer, Like makeup to meis like can we just get it over
with? I actually just got areally good idea when you mentioned a CDC.
I guess I would probably throw onlike I've got some country stuff around
here. That's like I could probablythrow on some jeans and I got a

(01:02:44):
cowboy hat and whatever. I couldprobably just find like one country song that,
if I performed it right, wouldbe hella fucking gay, because there
are a few that like, ifyou read between the lines, it sounds
like two gay lovers. No,no, there's a great there's a I
wish I could remember that. I'mblanking on the name of the song,
but there's actually a song about comingout of the closet in its country.
Yeah, I would totally do somethinglike that. Yeah, I would totally

(01:03:04):
do something like that. I amhere for it. Yeah all right,
And I think there was a um, you know what song is also great
to do that's really hilarious is shethinks my tractor sexy for yourself, John
dear t shirt, put on apair of jeans and some boots. I'm
here for it. Ah. Thefabulous Miss Paula Frost is watching. He

(01:03:30):
says, how are you blew upTrent to heck someone to know? Is
there a group number you would loveto do or want to do? I
did it. We did it.My whole drag family did it. That's
why I am all of us guys. We did it all. I got

(01:03:52):
a bunch of drag kings together andwe did wife. I have plans on
doing a group number actually with mydrag family. Um, we haven't figured
out that which song we're doing yet, but I know that there is a
duo that a friend that myself andmy fabulous um encrypted does stuff that's in
the in the comments somewhere. Um, we want to do obedient servant and

(01:04:16):
just like talk back and forth toeach other. We both have demon we
both have like these very strong demoncharacters, and it would just be hilarious
for them, like talking back andforth to each other. I love that.
Um. Derek just said, I'dlike to Check You for Ticks is
a hilarious song. I think thatone, and I know I did Save

(01:04:41):
a Horse Route Ride a Cowboy Eve. I almost want to send you my
T shirt that says, um somethingabout a cock so and it has like
a cock on a rooster um.So. Yeah. Oh, O'Ryan just
said I want to do a duetwith someone to the song that goes like
this from Spam a lot. Iknow every word, just throwing it out

(01:05:04):
there, throwing it out there.Um, there was another question in here
where to go? I don't knowwhere it went. Oh no, we
were answering it. Never mind,I get to run everything tonight. We're
doing wonderful thing. It's kind oflike a juggling act. It really kind

(01:05:30):
of is. I'm gonna throw thetwo of you on the spot for a
second. Jay, Is there anyquestion you have for Izzy? Yeah?
How long have you been doing drag? Izzy? Because you're phenomenal. Ooh,
I wait a minute, when didDerek? Uh uh? When did

(01:05:50):
Derek propose Hugh at the Drag Showtwenty fourteen or no, that was back
in twenty two twelve. That waswhen. That's the drag show that I've
seen as an audience member. Yea, And that was when I was inspired
to ask about amateur drag race. And I had to wait a period of

(01:06:11):
time, but that's when I cameout as a drag king and I created
Iszi Aheat. So since two thoutwelve and I've done at least one thing
per year, at least one liveperformance in COVID. I've done a couple,
I've done a video and a coupleof live shows. Um, I
did it for Denver Pride BLM DenverPride, So I did actually really special

(01:06:38):
BLM video just for that. Thatwas really special. So yeah, every
year I've done something that's amazing. So like close to what nine almost ten
years now? Yeah, yeah, incredible. I'm all old and shit,

(01:06:58):
you're old, I'm your mother.Doesn't that make you feel even older?
Jay? That's why things are hangingdown here? Okay, yeah, you
were doing this earlier. These aremicro genetic fate sleaves well talk about being

(01:07:21):
old right, well, and Izzy, do you have any questions for Jay?
I do? Actually, Um,I wanted to ask you earlier,
but we didn't have a second. The on your face, your makeup was
really phenomenal, by the way,I wish I was that pounds. I'm
just not um. And so yousee that like you have it almost looks

(01:07:44):
like a bird. This here, yeah, representative of like a bird or
something. For the end. Itwas actually so my given name that I
gave myself as raven Um and soI and of course my my drag name
is j I am very much connectedto birds, particularly ravens, Like there's
two ravens back there on my wall. So yeah, I did that,

(01:08:06):
kind of did that on purpose tolook like a bird. Yeah, fabulous.
I actually noticed that, and Iwas like, pretty think I was
hoping somebody would fabulous. That's reallyfabulous, well done, well done,
thank you, that's incredible. Therewas another question here. I saw it
just a second. I swear whatis wrong with me? Basically someone was

(01:08:29):
asking if that was your actual hair, Jade me, No, this isn't
my real hair. This is awig. I wish that I had beautiful
long walks like this. I'm growingit out. I did when I first
started reconnecting to the Ojibwa nation.I did a haircutting ceremony and cut ale
off, so it's still grown back. That's wild. It's pretty short right

(01:08:53):
now. Paula would like to pointout she loves the makeup on all of
us so well out and executed, perfect sally perfect sileate. That's exactly what
she wrote. I problem pointed out. I think some of the reason that
we don't get have more drag kingsand many retire is because so many are

(01:09:15):
trans men, and after transition maybe difficult to figure out where to take
one's drag character. It is kindof the same thing same as the mentality
of sis women not doing drag queenthings, so again is back to much
of the old concepts and stereotypes.I think that's valid. You know,
I do know a lot of kingswho have since transitioned slowly getting back into

(01:09:43):
doing drag, So yeah, Ithink I think some of the like some
of the call to drag is theat least for me, when I was
questioning my gender to be able topresent as a masculine person and be seen

(01:10:04):
masculine was a gift all in itself, and I think that's what a lot
of drag people either way are searchingfor. Initially, that may not be
why they stay or continue, butI think that that has a lot to
do with it. And then andthen once we realize and then if we're

(01:10:26):
validated through surgery and hormones, thenit becomes less of a drive and so
something else has to drive you.And I don't know that's different for different
people. I think a lot ofthe times, too, people associate drag
with doing an opposing gender role. And so when typically for trans men who

(01:10:46):
do masculine drag, they start offeel like, oh, well, now
that I'm masculine, and it's it'sit's you know, it's just because of
society says that you have to theyfeel like maybe they can't anymore. And
I felt like that when I first, you know, I my first to
drag identified as this woman, andthen I identified as non biner, and
then identified as trans and now intospirit and so like there was this kind
of gender journey for me, andI did question if when I went masculine,

(01:11:10):
can I still do this? Butyou can, like anybody can do
any form of drag. Women cando be drag queens, men can be
drag kings, transmit, you cando whatever title of drag you want.
And and fuck society that says youcan't like I've been told so many times.
And if I'm gonna pretend to bea man, I shouldn't wear like
I make up like this, Andthat's dumb, So do what you want.

(01:11:35):
There's a really good quote that's beenfloating around. It's been a meme,
it's been everything, and it's basicallylike all clothing is unisex if you
stop being a bitch about it.Yes, I agree. Identify as a
pretty boy, which means I wantto be I want to be perceived as
a masculine individual per displaying femininity.H that's that's me in a nutshell,

(01:11:58):
My drag and Me the name ofJay Crimson's autobiography. There was another.
Paula has a really good question here. How can we help to promote kings
in this game? Book us?Book them? Yeah, book us and
tell producers that you want us,drop our names and don't be afraid to

(01:12:23):
hand us the microphone. Yes,yep, absolutely, and we're all over
the place, share, like, comment share, do the things people need
to be able to see us.In fact, definitely go and follow these
two on all of their social media. They are both amazing. You will
not be disappointed. The next question, it's directed at Izzie, but I

(01:12:45):
kind of want us all to answerit. If I invited you to my
preschool to read a book, whatbook would you choose to read? And
Izzie, you can't say Dancing hiphop? Oh I don't know the best
book. Oh that's a good one. There's so many great indigenous stories that
I'd love to read. I thinki'd probably read about the how the Raven

(01:13:13):
turned black. I think that wouldbe a really cool story to learn.
The original story is that the ravenwas in fact white and then went to
find fire for man. And itchanges from nation to nation. Each nation
has a different story. But theparticular story that I know is the raven
was originally white and this beautiful, beautiful singing voice went to go get fire
and then he burned his wings,Singja's wings, and the smoke and got

(01:13:36):
everything got into his throat and that'swhy he has a terrible croak now.
And I think that's the story I'dlike to tell Oh, I like that
is he you look like you're readywith one. No, I'm not.
I totally feel stupid that I don'tknow some other book. I'm sure I
do know another book. And I'mjust I'm I'm you know. Most of

(01:14:03):
the time, I in the lastlike five years, I've mostly been supporting
Brighthawk, a great storyteller. Andthen I'm like, oh, I could
have Oh, I could have Brighthawk, dude, Oh, this isn't me
reading a story. Because what shedoes is she tells the story and I

(01:14:25):
dress up as the character. It'slike dragged for kids, and the kids
have a great time. We doit at the fair. I come in
as the hobbit. She tells alittle story. While the kids are paying
attention to the story, I slipoff stage, change into something, and
come out in character as like ahippo. I came out as a Irish

(01:14:48):
farm boy, a fabulous farm boy, like I have shiny green pants and
an Irish hat, and I dothis whole Irish thing. It's this Irish
story about taking too much from theland that bred Hawk and I did together.
So we kind of make up thestories together. And then she does

(01:15:11):
these storytellings. So that's really myfavorite thing. So if you hired me
for your preschool, I'd be like, no, you don't want me to
read a story. No, youwant bright Hawk to come tell the story
and I'll perform it. And Ijust come out and do like silent drag
and I dance around or make facesor fall out or whatever, and it's

(01:15:33):
hilarious. The kids think it's greatfun. I have a book that I
always recommend to people. It iscalled Red, a Crayon Story, and
it's all about a crayon called Red. Red's rapper is red, but Red
is a blue crayon. So Reddoesn't understand how to do Red. Red

(01:15:58):
wants to be Red. Red seesthe name Red, but Red deep down
is not red. It isn't untilRed becomes the ocean that Red's like,
but I can do blue really well. That Red realizes that what's on the
outside doesn't matter. It's what's onthe inside that counts. So it's more
of the trans story. It feelslike try yeah, yeah, most people

(01:16:21):
see it as a trans allegory, but it's also like don't try to be
something you're not. In general, like I, you know, my whole
life. My family was just like, just get like a safe job,
like go into computer programming. I'man actor. I need to act.
I need to perform. That's whatI need to do. So if I
got that computer job, i'd bemiserable. I wouldn't be happy. I'd

(01:16:45):
be making way more money than I'mmaking now. But I'd rather be happy
than wealthy. I'd rather be both. Let's be honest. I would rather
have the money and the happiness. But right now I'm going to settle with
the happy. Simple as that. It's also really good trans allegory. I'm
not discredited at also really good.M Paula had one right here. Um,

(01:17:11):
where is it? She commented onthat what story would she read?
Everybody poos, Yes, that's agood one. Fantastic one. Um.
Going back to talking about drag andtrans men doing drag, Trent would like
to point out he says, Ialmost quit drag because when I started transitioning,

(01:17:31):
people would just say I'm a girldressed as a guy, and it
was really heartbreaking. Now that Ifigured out my style, I used my
drag to show pride in my transidentity. I love that. It's it's
so good so good and he's sucha talented performer. Trent, We're gonna
have you back on the show sometimessoon, don't you worry. Marcy and

(01:17:57):
Kerry Jade. If you could readthe book we got for the twins,
the hips on the drag go swish, swish swish. That's valid. My
hips are downstairs in the dining roomright now. They're they're doing what they
need to do. Air out umooh. Jamie Angel is just coming at

(01:18:18):
us with the amazing questions, thethought provoking questions. If you could create
a drag persona for a friend orfamily member, for your character to perform
with, what would it be andwhom would you like to create the persona
for. Oh that's a tough one, right. I would turn my young

(01:18:42):
sister into a king. I don'tknow what we would perform yet, but
I feel like it would just beridiculous, Like we would be doing spam
a lot. We would be doingcomedy because we're both goofballs. Yeah,
I think that's what it would be. I think I don't think she'll ever
do it, but I have anidentical twin sister. She's not trans I

(01:19:03):
am, so we're like we're identical, but we're really not. Um,
I would love to see her indrag one day. I think that she
would look like I think I wantto see her be a king just for
one day, just for one day, because it was my egg crack moment,
and I wonder what would happen toher if she saw herself and a
king make up. You know, that'd be fun. How about you,

(01:19:24):
Izzie. Ah, That's it's definitelya tough question. And I'm like,
oh, so the one thing thatI wanted to do that I haven't done
yet that I hope to do soonat some day maybe in Portland, Oregon
with my drag wife, Fella Danna. I want to do Sonny and Share

(01:19:45):
because I'm hilarious. Oh oh,I want to see that so much because
she does a pretty good share,And um, if I did son you
know, I just think it wouldbe funny and it would be cute.
So I want to do like oneof their songs, one of their you

(01:20:08):
know duets. Yeah, I amsearching for the picture of the two of
you as Gomes and Mortisha. Yeah, because it's so we have fun on
stage together. We have a goodtime. I'm glad that she lives in
Oregon, because that's where I'm about, That's where I want to move.

(01:20:28):
Oh yeah, yeah, and thenext year too. Maybe in a couple
of years I might be living therewith her. So like she always makes
jokes that I was going around spreading, you know, going around sowing my
oats. Now I guess we're goingto retire to Oregon. The photo is

(01:20:50):
uploading right now, like this isjust it's so good. Oh my god,
I love that. If you've seenif you find the performance on Belladonna's
instagram, I'm pretty sure it's onthere right because you did the Masochism Tango.
Yeah, well I did the MaschismTango by myself, but we did

(01:21:13):
this other weird song, but weended up making it look like Gomez and
you know the Adams Family where sheI throw roses at her and she's all
offended and throws a knife at me, and shit, we did the whole
thing. It was good fun niceo'rian actually pointed out, coming back to

(01:21:36):
the children's book read Izzie, Ialso, if you read as an allegory
from me being ADHD, people expectme to be this neurotypical and only see
what I cannot do instead of whatI can, because they're so focused on
what they want me to be versuswhat I am. Oh, I get

(01:21:56):
it, totally get it, aRyan. I'm a total weirdo. People
expect all kinds of ship from you. You know what I say about expectations,
shove it. So most of thetime, I just do whatever I'm
gonna do, and then people don'tlike it, and I just shrug.
It's not your life mine. Yeah, if other people don't like it,
who cares? If you like it, that's all that matters. Figuring out

(01:22:20):
who you are is what's most important, and where you fit, not where
the world is going to fit you. That's right. I've gotten very hooked
on a TikTok and I forget theexact name of the TikTok hood. It's
a gentleman who just turned thirty. He is autistic, and he has this

(01:22:42):
huge collection of Disney dolls. Hecan tell you when each doll came out,
when her movie came out, whenthe VHS came out, when the
DVD came out. And I justlove watching that TikTok because I get to
work with a lot of really wonderfulautistic kids at work. Lately, and
I'm just fascinated by the fact thatI don't understand. I don't see things

(01:23:11):
the way they see things, andthis TikTok is just a wonderful glimpse into
like the thing he's most passionate about, and I just absolutely love it.
Then he has all a huge roomfull of Disney dolls and he's Disney.
Oh yeah. Uh. I don'tknow if it's his mother or his caretaker,

(01:23:36):
but she like got him this newcollection of the Disney villains in like
glamorous gowns, and he's just showingthem all off, showing their accessories,
what goes with what? And I'mlike, this is this just brings me
joy? Like, uh, Ilove it. Nell says her son is

(01:24:00):
autistic and always say he is myfavorite square crayon. Oh that's so sweet.
It really is. Well, we'vegot about ten minutes left, little
less than ten minutes. But onething we always like to do on the
show, and that is Derek's helpfuldrag tips. My husband is a show

(01:24:21):
director for one of the biggest showsin central Pennsylvania, and he always likes
to just throw a little knowledge outthere. So we're all going to have
a chance to chat about this becausehis helpful drag teap this week is practice
your reveals. There's nothing sadder sadderthan watching a performer struggle on stage to
the audience. It feels like thepower is going out as a DJ goes

(01:24:44):
to make the beat drop. Andyeah, yeah, I've witnessed that before.
I think that you should frankly practiceyour whole number. I mean see
it as I used to see itas exercised for my fat ass, but
you know, I'm a of it. I like to eat a lot,
So I mean, if you can, if you can at least practice a

(01:25:04):
few times in front of the mirror, you do yourself huge favors because the
first time I don't I don't practicewill be the first time I can't get
something off. Or or even ifyou just you know, practice the lyrics
really well and look at yourself inthe mirror and make sure you can take

(01:25:26):
your whatever off in less than aminute or what however long it needs to
happen. I've definitely witnessed the clumsyor you didn't practice this, did you?
It kind of makes me feel alittle disappointed that you didn't prepare.
Yeah, from an audience standpoint, you're kind of like, oh, she

(01:25:47):
tried, damn Jay. Anything toadd to that. Well, considering I've
never performed live on stage, allof my big reveals have been done post
production, so I guess from avirtual stage perspective. Get yourself several takes

(01:26:09):
and then go into post production andedit them together, and take your time
editing them. Yeah, that's thebest I can give you. And make
sure your lighting is good. Oh, super valid. A crypto dust Stuff
says they've been on stage a coupleof times. In their first performance,
they fell flat on their face.Literally. I think I remember you telling

(01:26:32):
me that story, Crypto. Iyou know, I think of some of
those things as a rite of passageto like, you know, it's gonna
happen, you know, like you'regonna have a stage fall on you at
some point and end up on William'sbeat down because of it. A wig
is gonna fall off at some point. It's gonna happen. You know,

(01:26:56):
you can be the most prepared performeron the planet. It's gonna happen.
Don't worry about it. Don't worryabout it, laugh it off, learn
from it, and move on.Yeah, if you if something does go
wrong on stage, you're better offlike just kind of laughing it off and
we're playing it off and moving on, because then your audience will too.

(01:27:18):
In fact, one of the besttips I've ever heard about performing live,
and I guess this Council on linetoo, is if you're having a good
time, so is your audience. And that's kind of the most important thing,
is that if you're having a greattime at it. If you're going,
oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, and you're
panicking, they're probably not they're nervousfor you, because most people are empathetic.

(01:27:45):
Yeah, I did a gig earlierthis year. We got to the
gig, Violet's comment reminded me ofit. I was giving a heads up.
I was like, Hey, justso you know, it's cobblestone,
and I was like, oh.And then when I got there, Oh,
it wasn't cobblestone, it was gravel. So I was like, Okay,

(01:28:10):
Mama's gonna bring some flats. Ihad never perform like. I felt
so weird because I'm in cute lookinglittle flats, but I'm in flats,
like my hips aren't moving like Inormally do in drag because wearing heels.
I'm like, oh, yeah, this is the only way it doesn't hurt
to walk in these. Seriously, heels were invented by men to make women

(01:28:32):
easier to hunt. But I wasjust like, this is so weird.
At one point, I dropped intoa split and I was like, this
was the easiest split ever because therocks just split up from under me.
The downside was my dress was waytoo long then, so I'm just stumbling

(01:28:53):
on everything. I need to fixthat dress anyway. But yeah, things
happen, you move on them.Um. Uh, we have a couple
more questions. Uh. Eve wantsto know what was your most memorable improvisation
in a performance. I helped awerewolf this weekend. You did what?

(01:29:17):
I helped a werewolf this weekend?How that go? I mean, I
haven't gotten fleas yet, so yeah, I'm just doing a number and this
kid in a werewolf outfit puts adollar bill in the mouth of the werewolf
outfit, and I'm like, oh, game on. I came over,

(01:29:40):
I took the dollar and just startedlike grinding on this kid in a werewolf
outfit. Then I kissed the headof the werewolf and moved on Oh my
god, I love that it was. I was a vampire at the time
anyway, so it was weird.Who wants to go next? Z?
I was thinking of the time Iwas in Portland and I was performing.

(01:30:03):
Um, I was actually doing EltonJohn. Now just a little secret.
I'm actually secretly a hobbit and Ilike to eat, so um, I
got a little chunky on the roadand so I'm dancing doing Elton and my
plit my pants split in the back, you know, right on your ass,

(01:30:29):
you know. I'm like, oh, no, I heard it.
I felt it right, and I'mlike, don't turn around because no one
needs to see your cute little rainbowunderwear. And so I I didn't know
what to do, so I justI just didn't show. But then at

(01:30:50):
some point on that stage you hadto turn around and walk off each and
I was like, oh, brighthawk, I hope you don't film my button
hanging. So that's the funniest thingever happened to me. How about you,

(01:31:10):
Jay? This happened last year whenI was like right in the middle
of all of the virtual drag showsthat I was a part of, and
I wanted to do like this reallykind of cute, sexy, kind of
vampire thing, and I got acostume from Spirit Halloween. But the cape
just kept falling off and I wasgetting so frustrated with it, and I
had to redo this take like eightmillion times because I wanted to keep cape

(01:31:30):
on, and like I finally,I just got really frustrated and I just
improvised and made it look real cool, and I like ripped off the cape
in the middle of the performance andit looked really neat, and so I
kept it in the in the performance. Yeah, that's the best improvisation I
can think of. I probably havedone others, but I can't remember them.
That's valid. I love that thishas been such a fun evening.

(01:31:54):
I have really enjoyed reconnecting with bothof you this evening. You both have
a special place in my heart. We have a couple of minutes left,
so I want to give you botha chance to say good night to everyone.
Starting with Isia. He well,I just want to say thank you,
thank you, thank you, thankyou for having me on the show.

(01:32:15):
I love Drag and I love allof your I just love your Shenanigans.
So I'm good and I appreciate yourshow and I appreciate you Jade and
all that you've done for me inDrag because if it wasn't for you,
I probably wouldn't be standing here rightnow. So thank you Ja, and
thank you Jay for inspiring me thatyes, even social media can love people

(01:32:40):
like me. So thanks amazing Jay. Do you have any last words for
everybody watching? Yeah, well, thank you very much for having me on
the show. As always, it'sbeen in a massive pleasure Jade. Wow,
words are hard, um fabulously phenomenal. What I was trying to say.

(01:33:01):
I always appreciate hearing from you andseeing your crazy shenanigans on this show.
It's just it's been an absolute pleasure. Thank you so much for all
of the warm love in the chat. You're all amazing. Thank you and
go make some chaos. Yeah ohI love that message. I want to
thank both of you for being heretonight. It has been such a fun

(01:33:23):
evening. I wish Amethyst could havejoined us. She would have had such
a good time. But life sometimestakes us in a different path. You
know, listen to what the universeis telling you, kids. It's saying
things for a reason. I don'tknow what tonight's reason. Was she would
have had a good time. Butwhatever, I want to thank everybody out
there who's watching, make sure youtune in every week. Next week,

(01:33:46):
we've got another fun episode planned. My co host will be the incredible Scarlet
Overkill, and we're bringing back twomore guests. And I am super excited
because I know they are good Judy's, they are besties and I've been trying
to get them on the same episodefor over a year and we finally got
it. We are going to haveAsia Munroe and Vulky Versusachi on the show

(01:34:11):
next week. I don't know ifI'm ready for it. Honestly, I
think I've got my work cut outfor me. I think it's gonna be
fun. I think it's going tobe a night of chaos, as we
like to say. And in thismonth of gratitude and being thankful for things,
I want to thank both of youfor inspiring me, inspiring my art,
and go forth keep inspiring people.I want everybody out there to try

(01:34:36):
to inspire someone this week, evenif that person is you. But there's
only one thing left to say,and that is good night, kids,
