leadership, a church leadership, churchleadership seminary. What leed you? What
led you that route? Then?When you were going to school? For
when I either wanted to be workingat church camp or be a youth pastor.

travel clerk at Karl Barracks, soI could just uh serve the men and
women who serve our country. Ilove it every single day. Today was
actually my last day before um theholiday break. So wow, my Christmas

church camp when I was when Iwas younger. See what happened? You

absolutely, baby, Yeah, herface about to get Wait a minute,

crying, stop crying. Unfortunately,every time I do my makeup, even
like just eyeliner, it just makesmy eyes water. Yeah. Anytime I've

ever painted somebody else, I hadso many people that like eyeliner just was
like not their thing. You couldn'teven go near their eye with anything or
it would just water or they'd blink. And I'm like, okay, drags
just not for you. Maybe youand I were talking about that earlier.
Because she doesn't wear makeup, sowe're kind of like, I'm gonna go

a bit exaggerated underneath the eyes becauseshe does have very sensitive eyes. So
we're gonna get creative. Where there'sa will, there's a way. Honey,
we'll get it on you. We'llget it on I think you like
it or not? I love it, ladies. How are you feeling so

used to it because of being atheater person. True, true, I'm

it like stepping on this side tonightto get all dolled up? Who every

we were saying earlier, it's kindof weird to be on the side because

we're so used to sitting at homewatching and chatting. So but um,
it's really cool to get a chanceto see on this side, to see

you know what I mean, Sobecause a lot of people don't really understand,
but now you too will be tormentedfor the rest of your lives from
this. One of the musicals thatI really love, um is the musical
Cats, and sort of the stepby step process is putting the bass on,
powdering it, and then building thecat face out of that base.

second season, um, thank youd um. And then with the Jersey
Fair, I've done two seasons aswell. How did you all get um

into it? Yes, yep.I did the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair back in
the late nineties early two thousands.Yeah, and then I became a director
at the New Jersey Fair. Um, and Robin and I worked together.

Even though I've switched apartments since then, we still frequently like we see each
other all the time, and it'skind of are you suffering no breathe that's
the thing. Um. But yeah, So Robin auditioned for New Jersey and

which was interesting for me because I'min the casting room, UM and I
I I didn't. It's it's weirdbecause you want to help your friends,
but you don't want to show favoritismat the same time, and I knew
Robin's first year she auditioned. I'msorry, I'm going to tell this story.

Um, the audition didn't go theway she had planned. Nope,
but thanks, but you still gotin on your own merits than they asked
me. Um. They asked mea few questions. Um, basically,
if I wanted to use my saveon her, I was like, that's
not how she wants to get in, and she got so. Yeah.

That was an interesting experience because Iwas there sitting and waiting for her to
finished auditioning, and she comes outand she goes running sobbing into the bathroom.
I'm going, oh, now whatdo I do. I'm just like,

so I just sat there and I'mlike, she'll come out when she's
ready. Yeah. So I hadbeen working for months on a Shakespearean monologue
and I thought I hadn't memorized.I walked into that room and it disappeared,
completely disappeared. I got like thefirst maybe two lines out and then

it was gone. Singing is fine. Like I chose a musical theater piece
that I knew very well. Um, apparently Vicky could hear me belting.
Yes, one stopped talking and doors. Yes. Shakespeare and I have a

love hate relationship. Well, thispast summer I actually wash and amplete at
Pia Fair. I first started asone of the infom mistress at the front
gate and then was switched into theAbbey bookstore. And let's just say I

people's traffic all day long. WhenI got moved down to the Abbey bookstore,

love it. I'm very lucky thatI am in a job position now that
I have returned to doing shows atBooby's Brewery. I am not only playing

can I please play a boy sometimesoon? I'm playing a lot of
women right now. While it's funand it's rewarding, it's also really having
to get ready several hours before everyoneelse. They said, James, you

I take my jag very seriously,but you know there is a time.
And they embraced me regardless. UMright, And I did have a
wonderful experience this past week. Um. One of these servers didn't quite know
who I was, and because shehad never seen me, I was playing

really funny. So one of thebartenders is about to announce my my given
name, and he goes, Jade, can you help us? And I
was like, well, that alsotechnically was not correct, because that was
not the character I was playing,but I will take that over my Yeah.

Yeah, so okay, So greatestaccomplishment outside of this show, um,
getting through twenty twenty. That's that'sone of those, you know,
and being blessed with friends and familywho you know, picked me up and
supported me through all of everything thatI was going through in twenty and twenty.

But my greatest accomplishment, I thinkis just having that self validation that
what you're doing is right and correctand that you're on the right path in
life. Drag has taken such afast trajectory this year, and it's it's
tumbling because I feel I've always wantedto do what I love and I've finally

been able to step away from,you know, the nine to five aspect.
It's been twenty two years. Istarted this twenty two years ago,
and now this is my job.So just having that sense that I'm doing
something right and that I'm on theright path is an accomplishment in itself.

proud that I'm in a spot whereI can reach out to my sisters and
help them grow. I'm proud thatI can go to places that don't understand
quite what we do in the LGBTcommunity and open their eyes. And you

a message out there of love andlight and understanding and bring people together,

like, huh, so yeah,I went and drag and I was like,
I need to show these kids thatI am not afraid I am here.
And you know, some of theteachers did have a very negative response
to it. They asked us tomove to a more secluded room so that
I wouldn't be a distraction. Andyou know what, the whole time that

I could see the kids were beingaffected, I was not affected by it.
I was just like, yeah,they don't get it, and that's
fine. They don't have to getit. You're all having fun, you're
all actually talking to me. They'removing the aside and they're not talking to

that's that's a shame, but it'sa real thing. We are still
fighting. We're still fighting. Butlike I said, it's how we react
that will make or break the situation. If you feed into the negativity,

all of my money all the time, and it's so nicely in the bucket.
