Yeah, no, it's been. This has been a kind of
weird summer with the heat and the humidity. But the
air quality has been dangerous for a lot of people.

The oh, the air quality is dangerous. But the stock
market is hot, stock market looks good.

Well for some people. Who's dangerous if they if they
don't do it right. But that shouldn't be what you're experiencing.

this is a financial show. We could talk about a
whole bunch of different things, the air quality, other podcast
hosts that are doing a phenomenal job out there. But
we have some great moves in the markets. But before

One of the kindest things you've ever said to me.

You know, I'm just a nice guy sometimes. But you know,
we could we could go back and forth on that
all day. And as we know of the stock market,
as I mentioned, it's really it's it's almost been a
broken record out with in record numbers. We can almost
call it so no pun intended, but the SMP five
hundred reaching all time highs once again. I mean this,
(03:26):
I should just record a spot saying market hits all
time highs and just play that every single week, because
that seems like I supposed toppen. What's happening there? On?
Was it? Wednesday? The market opened up, gaps up pretty
good right around the sixty four six four hundred and
eighty ish or so to be exact. Let me get
you an exact number here, six four hundred eighty dollars
(03:46):
and twenty eight cents it jumped up to at one
point on Wednesday. We know what happened the rest of
the week here, So the smps are looking phenomenal for
those people that are quote unquote buying and holding. We
have the Nasdaq same story, hitting those all time highs
and just chugging along. I mean, our percent returns are
looking really good. But that's also good and bad for
some investors because people are getting complacent and they think
(04:09):
this is normal. So that's why it's important. We talked
about last week protecting this these games that everybody's having.
That's important. It's not always what you make, it's what
you keep. And now what's interesting is that Dow Jones
is now showing that strength and nearing those right at
all time highs as well. So the three major indexes
are just let's just call it that, they almost look
(04:29):
like Bitcoin in a way. You look at let's look
at the oil market, which is at about sixty two
dollars and twenty five cents per barrel. Gold continuing to
stick in that little area right around three three hundred
and sixty one bucks depending on when you listen to
the show. But it's been stuck in this area for
let's see here about since April. So not a whole
(04:53):
lot of action with gold. Is that the safe haven?
Well we thought it was, but now it's consolidating. Is
it going to consolidate and go back to the upside
or consolidate and go back to the downside. Who knows,
but who cares because we know and we're going to
talk about this. There's strategies to profit in both directions.
Now I've covered some updates here. What's your take on
this market? It's hot. I'll tell you that what.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
The market is hot. We're looking at a market that
just doesn't seem to do anything but go up. But
you have to understand you mentioned that you mentioned those
words new highs are all time highs. That means that
anybody who's getting into the market now is paying high prices.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Ooh and interesting.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, And you have to understand that the market is
never going to go in one direction forever. There is
all There always will be pullbacks. And I'm not saying
you shouldn't be in the market now, but what I'm
saying is that you should be cautious about what you're
investing in, make sure that you're making the right choices,
and also make sure that you understand how to protect
your assets. That probably is the most important thing for
(05:51):
people to understand and to be active in right now,
protecting what you have. If you have some nice gains,
make sure you protect them. There's nothing wrong with taking
a profit, you know. And there's still a lot of people, though, Josh,
even though the market has been doing really well, that
come into our workshops and say, you know what the
market's doing well, I'm not, you know, especially if you
(06:12):
have a four one.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
K four three B their lackluster performance.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, they're mediocre performers. But also even in just regular
brokerage accounts, most of the movement and most of the
growth in these markets has come from a small number
of stocks, and mostly it's been the technology stocks. There's
more of a risk of what we would call risk
on trading style out there. But again, you just if
(06:37):
you don't know how to protect your assets, if nobody
has talked to you about that, if your broker can't
tell you how they're protecting your assets, you need to
do something different. One of the things that we do,
probably the most important thing. The first thing we teach
our students is how to manage risk, how to make
sure you understand how to protect what you have.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, and if you have some gains right on, which
I'm assuming most people do, if they have these accounts
where them been buying and holding, now is probably the
best time to build these skills. On keeping that because
if you can't keep it, you can't continue to grow.
And if that's that long quote unquote long term strategy,
well you want you're going to want to keep that
stuff so you can continue to grow, but also buying
what it's cheap again too, because it will get cheap
(07:16):
again one more time. So we have these free investing
in Trading in the classes that we do locally at
our Academy that train these skills and techniques and concepts
and how to protect your capital, how to have strategies
for upmarkets, how does have strategies for down markets, but
most importantly gaining that financial literacy. If you're looking to
