(00:01):
I've been up puffet a puff apirate and a poet umpawn at a king.
I've been up and down and overan hour, and I know one
thing. Each time, I'm flyingmyself land, flying on my face.
I just picked myself and kIPS backin the race. That's life. Hello
(00:31):
everybody, It's Thursday night. Duringthe Bretton Larry podcast show, that was
Frank Sinatra singing That's Life. Andwe got a show that talks about life
and all kinds of crazy things. So recently we've been talking about very sad
things. Uh the sewage, which, by the way, there's nothing new
on that. We're not going totalk about it all tonight, but we
(00:53):
will keep you posting in the future. And we've been talking about the bridge.
What happens. I hate to evensay what it is, but you
know what happens to the people thatdo the jumping. We're not going to
do that tonight. We're gonna havefun, silly show. We got one
of my favorite guys in the wholeworld on tonight. I call him Phil
Travolta, but he has a differentlast name, Frankavilla, but I don't
(01:15):
call him and I call him PhilTravolta. He goes by both. He's
on tonight. Hi, Phil, come on on, how are you?
I'm doing all right? You knowyou're talking about the bridge overday. I
thought you were talking about me.WJ Bobby jumping off over there. I
don't know what happened on what's goingon? You know what I mean?
I mean, you know everybody's sad, sound though. So this guy Phil
is the number one look alike ofJohn Travolta in the world, and he
(01:38):
does a lot of different shows, which we're going to describe tonight. He's
gonna do some live stuff, Vinnystuff, Danny Zuko stuff, He's going
to show us his Wall of Fame. He's going to show us videos.
So where do you want to start. Let's start in the beginning where you
were living somewhere else. Now you'reliving in Florida and uh and you started
as something else and now you're thistell us at the beginning. Yeah,
(02:00):
Well, the beginning was sixty fourthStreet and thirteenth Avenue was my place of
residence when I was a kid.And believe it or not, sixty fourth
Street and eighth Avenue was the homeof Saturday Night Fever. Oh my goodness.
Yeah, two thousand and one Odyssey. That's where they filmed the movie.
I just happened to be there,so you know, let's go forward
(02:20):
a little bit. Eighty sixth Street, where they filmed the movie, was
where I used to hang out,me and my buddies. They filmed Saturday
Night Fever about guys like myself andguys like my friends. And that's the
reason why Saturday Night Feva became sopopular because they took it from Cujins that
were actually guys like us, theway you walked, the way you talked,
(02:43):
and Chipota did a really good jobwith it. You got nominated for
an Oscar. Yeah, yeah,he did. Yes, well you were
something else you were what a polishmanor what were you? Yeah? It
was actually a let a carrier formany years. And I actually doing this
longer than I did the post office, he said, retired at that.
It's it's been an incredible run.I mean it's it's it's got to be
(03:06):
thirty years now, and it justit hasn't died yet. Look, when
when it's ready to go, Ibow out gracefully. But so far,
so good, and everybody's still hiringme and you know, it's been it's
been really good. So you metJohn Travolta. Yeah, I met him
approximately over twenty years ago when hewas in for Swordfish, and I also
been twenty years already. Oh yeah, over twenty years with Swordfish. He
(03:29):
was unbelievable. Yep, it wasthat long. And also approximately five years
ago when he was doing the movieGotti. He showed back up on eighty
sixth Street with his wat suit on. Well, had a white jacket on
and I had my white jacket on. He had his beard, he had
his hair. I didn't have abeard. I had to head any ads
from Saturday Night fever. We tooka picture at each other and the rest
(03:50):
is history. He was a great, great shot. It was a great
moment to meet him again. Andhe remembered me When I said, hey,
John, you know we took apicture a little time ago. I
had the white suit. He goes, we meet again, Yeah, that's
great job. What what do youthink his thoughts are? I mean,
did you did you know that you'reyou know you're you're pretty much. Yeah.
Well, when I first met whenI first met him, I threw
(04:13):
him at VHS. We were inVHS at the time. Wow, he
says he was in the limousine. He came out right when he went back
in, I says, John,Yeah, it's a VHS. You could
check me out there. And thenhow many years later we're in digital world.
That's that's wild. Well, let'sshot off. Let's show the audience,
Sarah, what he what he does? Come out, Let's do something.
(04:34):
We got some Let's do one rightnow, show the audience what this
guy can do. All right, now, I'm gonna do some tunnel.
They are one of my favorites, all right, most famous line in the
movie, who did you just watchthe hand? You know, work on
my hair alone time and he hitsit. He hits my hand. I
mean the times of my life sleevetomow's good to to twice this phase today
(04:57):
and dancing dancing to disco Tepe andmister futschool. You know, come on,
there's this beautiful shirt I gotta buy. It's a beautiful, beautiful shirt.
I mean, you know, yougotta give me the day off,
you know what I mean? Allright? Attic cut, attic cut,
attic cut. I knew you guyswere gonna like that, right, can
you dig it? I knew thatyou could. All right, now,
(05:20):
I'm gonna do some lines in themovie Grease Danny Zuker character. Right here,
we'll go, all right, Ohoh, I mean, come on,
Sandy. You know I came oncircles around that guy. You know,
I mean, maybe all those brainsin his biceps. You know what
I'm saying. You know what Imean. I don't know, Sandy.
(05:41):
I mean, you know, maybethere's two of us. Is something,
baby? You know, maybe youshould take some you know, ads out
in the Yellow Pages or something. You know what I'm saying. Everybody,
Sandy, Here we go, Sandy, I got chill stam multiplying and wluzin
chill home. I said, maybeI'll see you next year, right,
(06:02):
all right, right out of highschool? All right, take it easy,
all right, now, we're gonnado some Vinny Barberino, right all
right. Bah bah bah bah baBarrino, bah bah bah bah bar Barrio.
Hey, up your nose with arubber hose? You know what a
rubber hose? Where up your nose? When? I don't know, We're
(06:29):
gonna figure that out, all right, he mister katta. Every time a
pretty girl walks into the room, you know, my knees again to knock.
My whole body begins to shape.Mister Kata, I think I got

And the come on, give medrugs, Give me drugs, right,
all right? All right? Ihope you like my Vini barb Reno impersonation.
I hope you like my head too. All right, that's great,
(06:58):

bottom there. We got uh Phil'snumber if you want to book him.
He lives in Florida, but hetravels all over the world. All right,
now, I'm gonna do some tunnelthere, one of my anyway,
if you want to book him, you're gonna see him, do is.
(07:18):
We're gonna show a video on alittle bit after we ask a few more
questions on your interactive show, whichpeople go nuts over right? Oh?
Absolutely, And if they say theysaw me on the Larry Show over here,
they get a ten percent discount ifthey mentioned wow, all right,
show terrific. Right, just sojust you know, just feel like I
(07:41):
did at the paint store. RememberI gave you a discount discount for you
guys. Anybody anybody at calls itsays they was listening to the show.
So, but yeah, the interactiveshow is great. I mean, that's
what it's all about. That's whatbe going is. Whether it be or
Saturday Night Fever, it's a twentyminute, totally interactive show. I get
(08:03):
the audience up, I get adance into a few songs. We do
the line dance on Saturday Fever.I get out and do the solo that
he did in the movie and discoon Ferno. I come out to stay
in a line. I do alittle stick pull him. They started him
with Saturday Fever, so I doa little bit of that. They love
that. I mean, people geta kick out of it. Same thing
(08:26):
with Greece, same thing. What'syour favorite Travolta movie. Uh, I
gotta say Saturday Night Fever. Ireally have to say that because it just
reminds me of when I was akid in back in the old neighborhood.
It just does all right, wegot it teed up. Let's shout the
video, come on, let's showit. Oh yeah, yes, and
we gotta dance over there at studio. So we're gonna do a little dancing
(08:48):
while we watch all right, notpromo spot the No, oh, that's
(10:01):
great, you're amazing, great, thank you. I mean you got the
boys down. But the dancing,I kid, that's the hard work.
So we know some look alike guys. Tom. We got a Tom Cruise
guy in San Diego. Always gotto do show up and take pictures,
and you gotta dance and sing andeverything. I make it look easy,
but it's really not that easy.I mean it's after a while you do
(10:22):
get used to it. But youknow, it's just sometimes taking pictures for
two hours is more work than suretwenty minutes, believe it or not,
because you got to be in characterthe whole time, you know, pointing
the finger taking pictures. But Idon't mind. I mean, I love
it. It's a great you know, it's a great character to do.
Everybody loves it. Guys love it. Girls love it. Nobody ever gets
(10:45):
mad, nobody ever gets jealous. You know, no guys, no girls.
I go up to the wives, the girlfriends. Everybody gets a kick
out of it. I've never hada fight that Well, we got people
all over watching tonight. We've gotpeople from Scottsdale, Arizona. Well that's
Hollywood. Shrewood, Illinois. Wegot people from Palm Springs. They all
wanted to see you, Phil LasVegas. And I've been all over those
(11:07):
states that you just mentioned. They'reall great too. I've done shows all
over the place it must have beenis corporate, you know, at private
You know the public shows. Iwould say that they are few and far
between because the corporate of the isthe big money corporate private private parties,
(11:30):
I would say, But you know, I still do public events too.
It all depends. Do you haveany project projects coming up that you're working
on. Well, I got afew projects coming up. I have a
few gigs coming up. I gota few private parties coming up in Jersey,
another one in Staten Island. Andyou know what, every couple of
months I seem to get the gigs. Then, in other words, they
(11:52):
might not pile up now, buttwo much from now, I'll get another
two or three, and then I'llget another one or two. So really,
all the pens, you know, that's how it works in this business.
Let me ask you a crazy question. So if you weren't a John
Travolta look alike, right, whoelse would you? In your dreams?
Would you want to be well.I'll tell you, ever since I was
(12:13):
a kid, I wanted to dosomething where I would make people happy and
I would make people smile. AndI always was a good impersonator of people,
you know, of course, notlike pull them an erra, that's
that's the best one, you know. But I was just able to do
that, and this just fell intomy lap, you know, in my
twenties and when I when I whenI used to do years ago, when
(12:37):
I used to do the gigs,at the very beginning, I was very
nervous because I wasn't sure how wellI was going to be able to do
them, and it just happened tobe. I was a natural at it,
and it made people laugh, itmade people smile. I've had I've
had people put me my photo upin people's caskets, believe it or not.
(12:58):
Wow. The father or the motheror the brother would call me and
say, I just want you toknow you made my mother so happy.
I had to have your photo, and I casing, I was like beside
myself, Holy mackerel. I waslike, that's that's like the ultimate.
I mean, you know, itwas just a few weeks ago that the
lady passed away and here I am, you know, with her, and
(13:22):
I thought that was great. Sothis is what I continue to do.
So you're thinking could be like PatrickSwayze, could you do him or no?
But I mean I could do alittle bit of Elvish, you know
what I'm saying. Yeah, right, I figured you could do. So
I walk around Elvis too. That'sthat's it. But that's not my forte.
So what do you got behind you? There? You walking? Oh,
(13:43):
this is let's see can you seeit? I guess you can see
it this day? Okay, Overhere is can you see that? That
is an autograph of Carolyn Gourney andJohn Travolta. That is on my photo,
which is that the photo looks likethat. So I had them signed
(14:07):
my photo and that's what it lookslike over there right above it here,
Okay, I don't know if youcould see. Yeah, that is actually
part of the dance floor in twothousand and one Odyssey on sixty fourth Street
and eighth Avenue. Your buddy ofmine went it to the club when it
was demolished, picked up some rocksthat were underneath the dance floor, and
(14:31):
here I am with them. Imean, that was demolished years ago,
so I have them there. Hereis my my, my buddies, you
know from the sweat Hogs, alittle bit of Barberino. You know,
you can see him over there, right, you know, mister Cotter has
hooked me over there. You know. Here I am over there in a
nice picture over there with there's somenice hair, you see. And this
(14:54):
is me up over year. That'sme. That's me with Travalta up there,
if you can see him. Yeah, okay, that was over twenty
years ago. Wow. And thatpicture up there is me and Jerry Brookhonder,
one of the biggest producers in Hollywood. Yeah, yeah, with his
wife. That's over area is againall right, wow, all right,
(15:18):
hold on, let me see ifI could. And there's my Bobrino Dond.
Oh my god, it's wonderful. That's somebody gave that to me five
years ago at the premiere for Gotti, when Jorge Volta was on eighty sixth
Street. Somebody gave me that. There was a stick. There's a stick
on it, you know. Theywere putting it up in the airshow to
Botha's head. There's the grease andthat's about it for my Oh, this
(15:41):
is a Saturday Fever album, allheaded out plastic on it. What did
you think of Olivia Newton John passingaway? That was very very bad?
I mean it was it was verysad, very sad. She she fought
like a champ. Yeah, shedid, like a lot of other people
do with the when they have theyou know, the cancer. But it's
(16:03):
very very very sad. And Chavoltawas saying and also with it, you
know, what's what's what's I mean, he's so successful, right, he
says, they had an amazing career, and then he loses his son,
he loses Olivia Newton John, thathe loses his wife and all that,
all that fame, I mean, and and the people that he loved were
(16:25):
taking from him. Just crazy.Yeah, Diana Hyland when he when he
was a kid, when he wasdating her, he lost her. That's
right. Yeah. Okay, folks, so you got the number going there,
you got the email, you goteverything that you need if you want
to hire Phil in Chicago or LosAngeles, the Las Vegas. He's the
(16:48):
guy. He'll have a great party. He'll have everybody reminiscing and dancing.
It'll be fantastic. So we appreciateyou coming on, Phil, but we
want you stay on a little bit. You got anything else you wanted to
say before we move on to acouple other things. You stay with us.
Well, here I will show thatshow that point out them different characters
therefore us okay, well we doI do well, you know pulp fiction,
(17:15):
right yeah, the gun all right, that's one of the characters that
I do, Urban Cowboy. Asyou can see, that was in Texas
about a year ago. The boldwhere I am bold with the Actually that
was a photoshop, you know, just the just the head all right next
to Travolta. So that was justme comparing him, you know, Travolta.
(17:37):
Yeah, that's great of course,Saturday Night Fever, you know,
grease, and just to let everybodyknow when when I'm in character when I
don't have my beard on, here'swhat I use. I'll use my hair
for grease. But just in case, I know, you see my my
little grease week here that's a gagif I need to use that if I
have a bad hair gay oh yeahright, oh really okay. And then
(18:00):
here here's the one with the faceon it. She's a little scary.
But Saturday night fever Wig. Italways it all looks good when you know,
when I put it on and Ido my makeup, text me about
an hour. Really, Yeah, that's why I was so glad. I
was coming up tonight with a beenand just being myself. You know,
it's really nice to do once ina while, talk to the people,
(18:22):
have a good time. Yeah,or we having fun. It was super
fun show. So now, sinceyou're in the entertainment business, you do
your own production and stuff. What'dyou think any askers the other night,
Well, I don't know, becauseyou know, I really I really don't,
you know, watch him too much. But you know, I guess
it was kind of fun. Alot of people don't watch movies. What
do you think, Brett, Ithought it was early. I thought it
was better this year. Yeah,it's more upbeat. I was happy.
(18:48):
I was happy to see Robert DowneyJunior get his first ASCAR. He's a
great actors. He's getting his Yeah, after all these years. And to
be honest with you, it wasit was it's becoming a little too political,
Yeah, Timos, you know apolitical guy, So I know,
so I sort of like, youknow, just put that to the side,
and I do something else. Yeah, well a lot of people feel
(19:10):
that way. Do you think it'llever go back to where it's not political?
I I you know what, theway they use the platforms today,
I don't know. I gotta behonest with you. I can't even believe
that everybody uses this as a platformjust to talk about silly stuff that they
should be talking about on the air. You know, they should be doing
it somewhere else. You know, the first time I remember ever becoming political,
(19:32):
I was just a little boy,and Marlon Brando denounced getting his oscar
is not a Native American to goout there and then, and that was
kind of I mean, I Ilove the Native Americans and I support them
a hundred percent. But that wasone of the first time I ever saw
somebody use their their platform for something. But you know that was a good
cause. Yeah, you know. All right, So anyway, we want
(19:56):
to say one thing about the Patricks. You get this new picture from the
White Tick. I haven't been followingsports to me, I gotta, I
gotta, I gotta tell you,I don't know what it is. But
since kindergarten, I've been a Yankeesfan. Well, I don't know what
it is. I just like theYank Do you fill Yankees Mets or what?
What? I gotta be honest withyou. Since I was a kid,
I went. I went to theMets, to the Yankees, to
(20:18):
the Mets to the Yanks. Look, I like both teams, you know.
I think it's it's it's it's atie. The greatest, greatest Mets
team was nineteen sixty eight when theyhad Nolan Ryan, Tom sever Kusman what
they took them into. I thinkeven when why is the kid in nineteen
seventy five, seventy seven? Imean you know Tom se who was still
(20:38):
there. Yeah, I got someof those guys. Yep, great,
great guys. Absolutely. What's betterthan baseball? In Phil Travolta doing his
thing? What's better? Nothing?Nothing? Come on, you know what
I mean? You pitch tonight?Maybe maybe maybe maybe we could do something
(20:59):
like that. You know, nothingyou need to do. We need to
have going to San Diego and doa podcast with us. Yeah, no,
I want to get him down hereand do a show. And that's
what I want to that'd be phenomenal. I'm working on it. All right.
We're gonna let you guys go.We don't want to keep you too
long. We know everybody's busy intheir life. Before we go, Brett
usually has a piece of wisdom tosay, what do you want to tell
audience before we leave? Brett,it's not about politics, it's about the
(21:22):
people. And Brett believes in workon both sides. Well, you've got
to work together. We've got tolearn to be different. I mean I
can tell you I have friends thatare like, you're talking to that person,
and I'm like, yeah, becausejust because we don't agree on this
issue, they've never done anything badother than maybe disagree. They have some
things that we don't agree with. But we have to get back to where
(21:44):
we can see. You know what, you're different. I don't agree with
you, but you know we likethe same music, you like the same
movies. We like the same Youknow, you can't let one political difference
be the thing that why you can'tbe friends with somebody? Bill, What
do you got in your life? What do you got a little thing to
keep it up here? Keep yougoing well? Like my saying always said,
it always says. My saying alwayssays life for sure, live it,
(22:07):
love it, be happy and makepeople happy, make people laugh and
you know what. You can nevergo wrong doing that. That's right.
I see that on your stuff. That's great, that's good stuff. Man.
I just picked up one thing justbefore we came to came tonight.
It says, make a commitment toyourself to always have something to look forward
to, so like during the weekor daily or something. That's a good
(22:29):
thing, especially as you get older, because life gets a little boring,
you're not working whatever. You gotto have things to look forward to.
That's going You're never bored, NoI'm not, but I mean you got
to have things to look forward to. You. That's why I got things
to look forward to, all right, hil Thanks ton really love with you
guys. Thanks a lot. Iappreciate you, all right. Try to
(22:51):
get you down here to do theshow would be fantastic. We got a
lot of danswers down here. Theyall will love you. Thank you,
thank you. Hope to see youso, thank you very very much.
Yeah, guys, all right, what's the hair? All right? What's
the hair? Good night, everybody. We had a great show. We
are upbeat and happy tonight. Nosad issues, but we'll have sad ones
once in a while. But we'remore about this happiness and making people happy
(23:14):
and upbeat subjects, right, Brett, that's right, everybody. You take
care of yourselves, Okay, goodnight everyone,
