(00:03):
This week on the I Racing DownShow, Greg gives us some homework.
I've not seen somebody find the StephenDale yet. Kevin throws Chris under the
bus. Chris, I feel likeif you've actually had as many ways as
you lame, you would actually haveyour feet life. And Chris starts as
villain Ard. That was maybe myproudest and most cunning forty chess instance of

(00:24):
the entire year. All that muchmore so, strap in. Welcome to
the I Racing Downshift, Timmy. It's Greg West. I'm back with the
boys, Kevin, Bobba and ChrisLeoni. Holiday Show. We did it.
We're here, all right, wemade it. We Yeah, this
is the this is the build show, the Holiday Show, the New Year's
Show. By the way, theChris is technically on vacation, so we'll

(00:48):
be more unhinged than usual show.Yeah. The cisco who's going to edit
this is I think on vacation, but is in the sday. Today's my
last day, Greg, Today's literallymy last day. We have to one
take this, so one take andget the editor. How is that different?
Yeah, I'm saying we haven't nevermind, I'm not I'm knocking on
Wood. I hope that comes throughto Sewn in the sound room because I

(01:11):
respect me of podcasting everybody. That'swhat we should give Sean a shout out.
We never give him credit. Givehey, Sean, nice to see
you. We can't really scand offin the back with that long hand.
Yeah, here you go, Hereyou go, I got you. There
is there is Sean. This islike watching Monday night football, except without
the millions of fans. We havethree Yeah, we have tour noive,

(01:34):
Okay, you know what, Ihave a request for future shows. First
off, Cisco put together a greatoutline, complete with like hyphens and everything.
Shout out, but he didn't putthe fan counter up on the up
on the screen. Oh good.We can never find with somebody else's outline
skills. Now, yeah, itis exactly. So Cisco made this outline

(01:55):
that we're not following at all,and I told him we weren't gonna follow
it. He was I think hespent all Sunday deal in this, and
yeah, thanks, but no thanks. Yeah, it's a I said I'd
do my best, but my bestis not great. So sorry, sorry,
but we'll find out. Well,Uh, welcome to the podcast.

(02:16):
We were supposed to have podcasts lastweek, and then we got on Monday
and I was half dead and Chriswas coughing his head off or vice versa,
and I think the production crew wasalso pretty sick. It would have
been very challenging me for me tohave a conversation by myself. Yeah,
pretty much. Yeah, yeah,we'd have to do all new branding called
the Kevin Bobbits Show. It's wedidn't have the bandwidth to redo the logo

(02:38):
that that's right, So we saidI will do it next week. Yes,
but I'm on vacation and we werelike, too bad. Well we're
doing this. We're going to figureit out. But yes, excited.
This is We've got a lot totalk about because this is the Build Show.
We love the Build Show. TheBuild Show about all the stuff we
haven't been able to talk about andmysteriously have not had a slip of the

(02:59):
tongue of all the secrets from thelast release. But let's get right into
them. Because we got cars,we got tracks, we've got features,
we got new series, all kindsof stuff to talk about. No,
it didn't rain, in case anybody'swondering, but that's okay. It's coming
soon, Chris, show it soon, Thank you soon. And this is

(03:22):
our first deviation from the outline becausethis is down lower, so everybody scroll
and we're in section one and we'realready oh yeah, excellent. So yes,
it did not rain, but that'sokay because there was a decision made.
Let's make sure we've we've got it, We've got it right, and
it was very close. But wehave a really high standard that we've set
obviously, and we do not wantto let people down with that, nor

(03:44):
ourselves down. So I think Ishould invite Greg Hill to my house because
my yard is completely flooded right nowbecause we're getting this East coast storm like
it's literally underwater, so we needany extra data. I'm your guy,
Greg Torrential down for recent or atKevin's house. I'll be over for launch.
But no, while it did notrain, it did do a lot

(04:05):
of things. It brought an anan Audi Audi Ari l M S EVO
two GT three. Oh thank youfor saying that complete name, because I
was going to mess that up likeI usually do. But yeah, up
in the bar, no belt,No, the dog will be upset.
It'll be a post in post nice. I mean We could go over the
specs, but it's an awesome GTthree car. What else to say about

(04:29):
it? Prove to be pretty popularalready. V ten sounds great, sounds
good, I mean sounds good.I mean you know, who knows.
V tens are probably not going tobe around forever, right, So it's
nice to have a proper sounding motorthese days. So get while the gitting's
good. That's right, that's right. It's not an electric car, believe

(04:50):
it. No, no, no, it is the antithesis of an electric
car. But all over the service, we've got it in a couple of
GT three series, We've got itin ims. I bet you see it
in some sort of Nerbourg Ring centricseries. You know that comes back for
twenty twenty four. But it willit be in that? Uh yeah,

(05:10):
cankifirnt. Hey, I'm gonna putthat post out like today. Nice.
Yes, it will be in theDaytona twenty four. So the great thing
one of the and we're gonna skipahead in the in the show notes again.
One of the things I'm most excitedfor from twenty twenty three was the
vastly increased car counts that have allowedus to have such diversity in the number

(05:31):
of vehicles that are available to racein our not only our special events,
but our regular hourly series. Andso the we didn't have to didn't have
to kick a car out to bringin a new car. That's that's pretty
cool. But yeah, really excitedabout this car. There's a really cool
video by either Alex or Cole putit out link in the description below.

(05:51):
Thanks Cisco, you can you cancheck it out. Cisco is rolling his
eyes. I can see it rightnow. Add that to the description.
Darn it, you're welcome adding work. Wait wait is it or can the
link be like here? No,they turned that. They turned that off.
Greg, they don't do that anymore. I don't believe you they it's

(06:12):
only the top right annotation over there. I guess they got rid of the
on screen notifications like years ago.No vacation is charting today anymore. Yeah,
you're welcome for that. That's noextra charge. Oh. We also
we put out a really good track, Migello, long time requested track in

(06:33):
Italy, owned by Ferrari, hashosted a variety of races. You've probably
played it on other titles and wewe've brought it to I racing. Kevin.
Yeah, it's super fun. Idon't know what to say because the
first two items here I was supposedto take and you've taken both of them,
so I've introduced them. I'm them C, but you gave me

(06:54):
all the talking points. It's gottwo layouts. It's owned by Ferrari.
It looks beautiful. I didn't sayhosted an F one race during COVID like
like Cisco put on the script. They did do that in twenty twenty,
right, indeed in twenty twenty. So it is built to modern standards.
It's got three D grass. Itis beautiful, all the shaders and Greg

(07:18):
Hill and company put together another fantasticwork of art. I've not seen somebody
find the Stephen Dale yet. Hasanybody seen that's a good one. I
haven't seen it either. I haven't. I bet you a dollar it's there
somewhere, though I won't take thatbet. All right, That's what I'm
doing. When we're done recording,I'm gonna go find I'm gonna go look

(07:40):
for it. But no, Imean just go look at it, the
train, everything around it, likeyou really, it's it's one of the
most immersive tracks. We've made andsuper fun, super fast, really flowy.
If you got a high downforce cardto super Formula there and was just
ripping around, and let me tellyou what, it's a it's a really
good time. But then you cantake something slowly touring car Cleo. Take

(08:01):
the Cleo there on the short layout. For the proper experience. You really
should take the Ferrari. I meanyou should take the Ferrari. You should
do that, right, I meancheck it out, check it outwesome,
awesome new track. It's in multipleschedules right, uh yeah, and it's
getting added. We keep getting messagesfrom community, hey can we add this.
We're gonna make sure we're getting setups ready for it. It'll be
all over the place, so itwill be very popular this season. A

(08:24):
good pickup if you're on the fenceand you do road racing. It's probably
in every series that you racing. If I had to guess, so I
could be wrong. Somebody's gonna likecomment it's not in this series. I'm
sorry pross generalizations here. Remember weare not good at our jobs. It's
not in the Rookie and I cantell you that that is true. It
is not on the Rookie calendar. But there is a track here we're gonna

(08:48):
skip ahead again. There is atrack on the Rookie calendar that got nice
and the beautified. This build OkayamaInternational from Japan, completely rebuilt and remastered
to our modern standards, absolutely amazing. If you look AT's go find some
videos using Okayama from your squad orlook at your scroirrel. I was gonna

(09:11):
say, look at the old one, now look at the new one.
Don't look at the old one, just look at the new one. It
looks pretty. It is, butit also has three D curbs, which
is and foliage and foliage. Andlook at the I'm just watching this look
at the once again. It's thetrees, the mountains, everything, it's
just has really come to life. The wizardry of Greg Hill's art crew,

(09:31):
what what they have figured out inthe advances they've made in last year are
magnificent. And we're seeing it withyou know, both the track or with
all of the tracks, not boththat we put out this build cycle.
Uh but yeah, a ton offun. Get up on the curbs and
a GT cart try to stay awayfrom them in an open wheeler. Pro
tip, just throwing it out there. It definitely changes the uh, the

(09:52):
driving experience and the the old curbs. You can try to hook the penultimate
corner, hook that right front overit and really pull yourself around. Yeah,
that's a roll of the dice withthree D curbs. Because there are
these things called consequences. What arethe best part of this track is it
remains part of the base package. That's the best part. So and it
will be on a ton of schedulesbecause of that. But yeah, go

(10:13):
and go rip grab an MX fiveor you know, a Formula Vie or
whatever and go rip around on it. And no additional costs. If you're
remember porn audy like we're seeing onthis or an audi but that that does
you know, that is a premiumpiece of content. I'm saying everybody can
experience the updated base package. Soundsso yes, all right now scrolling back

(10:35):
up on your outlines, everybody isGreg's guided to her of Cisco's outline.
Uh Slinger Slinger Wild Track, Christake it. Yes, I have been
running, Yes, two sessions atSlinger multiple times a week. World's fastest
quarter mile oval, It's not justa nickname, it is reality. The
first quarter mile app under ten secondswas turned at this track, home track

(11:00):
to a lot of fantastic drivers, including our own time Majeski NASCAR legend.
I don't know if he's a Hallof Famer yet, Matt Kenzith, but
he will be if he isn't AlanKawiki. A lot of you all will
know it from the Slinger Nationals, which, as Cisco has noted, mister
Matt Kenzith has won eight separate times. Tye won the most recent one though,

(11:20):
and oh look, figure eight Racing. We have multiple figure eights on
the service now joining Irwindale. Chrisdidn't even know this was an old track.
He just thought it was a Figureeight track. Well, you know,
it's funny. There's actually an overunder figure eight and off road.
But I won't give the development teamany ideas thirty three degree banking though in

(11:41):
those corners, so it's a littleharry if you're not used to it.
But yeah, Slinger National knows. As we mentioned, and as many people
have been pushing for us to hadbeen pushing for us to do a deal
with Superstar Racing Experience SRX also headshere and that I'm sure will be very
popular when that car finally hits.I'm sure a mainstay of those schedules.

(12:07):
So but yes, it is mynew figure favorite Figure eight. As Cisco
is put in the outline, nojump in this one, Yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, I'm not gonnasay we haven't tried it. Wow,
that's a big hit I just sawon screen. Yes, yep,
this was one of the Yes twosessions. I am glad that Alex Horne
chose to film this one because Iwon this race. Is that your first

(12:31):
win ever? Number one? No? No, I have many against AI.
Well, yes, see if ifyou can see the there are thirty
Formula v's and they're all yellow andblack like hornets. We call that our
swarm of bees AI roster because allthe names are all the names have like
b's in them, like one ofthem's b Arthur. One of them is

(12:52):
the Beg's, et cetera, etcetera. And Chris, I feel like
if you actually had as many winsas you claim, you would actually have
your d license by now. Lookat that bus you got thrown under.
There is a nice bus, newbus model at Slinger by the way,
yeah, which Chris is way underit at the moment. Yeah. Can
we get the I'm checking out theexhaust pipe. Everything looks pretty clean on

(13:13):
here. Here you should uh weshould get that tribal but uh yeah,
no, I lost the lead inthe final app and then I took it
back again because I don't know whogot wrecked by one of the bees.
But shout out to oh god,I don't remember. I was gonna reference
it on here if it made itto the show. But it's okay.
I'm on vacation mode, so uhI already my already diminished podcasting skills are

(13:37):
less than zero. Chris started preparingfor the holiday early is when I'm here.
Yeah, well yeah, that's whenI built that AI roster was last
year's sabbatical if you will, Sothat's pretty cool. I need you to
share that with me. I will, I will take you up on the
bees. The bees. Uh,it's a great roster. We also like
to put it on I Racing superSpeedway and then run the c with them.

(14:00):
It's a great reflex test. Ohmy gosh. Yeah. Other nice
things about Slinger It is enabled fornight racing as well. On that by
popular demand, And what's really coolabout all the tracks we put out there,
all AI enabled so even if youdon't have an official race you want
to get into, don't want toset up a host it, just go
race it with the AI and anythingyou want. Yeah, go check them

(14:22):
out. A lot of really goodstuff. Slingers insane. I'd seen pictures
of it, had watch a coupleof YouTube videos and jumped in the super
late didn't AI race, and Iwas converted. I understood why people wanted
slinger because it is fun, andit is fast, and it's ridiculous when
things go wrong. All right,Moving on, we also huge feature update

(14:45):
or a huge project we've been talkingabout for a while now, over Refresh.
Phase one released and it has beenreally really cool, Kevin seeing some
of the reactions, Yeah, superpositive on social so people seem to be
enjoying it, getting out there racingkind of a I don't know, a
new new life on oval stuff right, really bringing it to life, so
awesome to see. I think there'smore work coming, right, it's phase

(15:07):
one, so that implies there's aphase two. So the guys are still
working on it and the team isso anxious to see what else we can
come up with. Yeah, Ithink it's important to see, you know
how the community reacted, and youknow, you can test it with a
bunch of people that know what's goingon, but you really you don't know
how it's going to be received andhow people are going to utilize these updates
that aren't you know, don't knowhow the sausage is made. So it's

(15:31):
we've been watching really really closely.I know Tyler Hudson, Travis Solmberg and
Steve Reese, you know, we'rethe three main architects on this, and
they look like they've done a reallyreally good job and I'm excited to see
where it will go from here. But it's definitely it's a more dynamic racing
experience and uh yeah, you gotto look around and find the grip and
those that can are going to havea definite advantage. So it's pretty cool.

(15:54):
It's nice to see a little bitof parody in the line that maybe
hasn't been there in seasons past.So pretty exciting about it and excited to
see where it goes from here andwhen it goes wrong. Though. Good
news is we got new damage ona bunch of cars, so Mike are
one of our developers. Eighteen carscame to New Damage model. This build

(16:18):
cycle. He didn't take a vacation, that's for sure. That is I
think one of our biggest bild editionsof new damage model cars. I think
we've we've done so obviously. Thenew Audi has new damage Model LOTUS forty
nine, LOTUS seventy nine. That'spretty sweet. The Lucas offering trucks Chris,
Yeah, was that Chris driving?Yes? Oh? Nice Chris.

(16:42):
Chris damage model tester. I workedwith a lot of stuntman back in the
GRC days, you know, superlate model, the COT and then the
car tomorrow which we're using in thedraftmasters. Seeing nothing like two hundred and
fifty miles an hour and it turnedthree Daytona and Talladega. That's a party.

(17:03):
I think. The one that I'mmost excited about, the HPD got
a new damage model and it alsogot brought back into an official series.
We're running it with the GT ones, the GT twos and the new the
updated Proto GT series and we wereseeing i think triple digit race registration last
week at Watkins. That's great.Hopefully the momentum continues. A lot of

(17:23):
people talking about it. You forgethow good that car was, you know,
it's a shame that it's not racedreally anywhere in the real world anymore.
But it's like an open wheeler withfenders. It just goes. So
if you haven't checked it out, check it out. But yeah, a
lot of a lot of carnage availableon new damage model this build cycle.

(17:45):
I moved on to series. Sowe've got Ringmeister that was pretty pop.
So we last season we brought indraft Man that was ridiculously popular, although
it cost me my a license,if I'm completely honest, and that's a
shame, but we decided are weWe've got some new tech that allow those
to both be fixed setup series now, which is kind of the intention in
the first place. But long storyshort, we couldn't do it. We

(18:07):
tried to do it, we couldn'tdo it. But now we can,
so you can. You don't haveto worry about you know, tune in
the setup. It is really designed. Who is the best driver that is?
That was the goal of these twoseries. I know there has been
a ton of banter about it.We have plenty of places on I Racing
to go tune a set and runyou know these you know, longer races,

(18:30):
something like Draftmaster and Ringmeister are thereto show who can drive the car
and who can and on a completelyequal playing field. So we're we're really
excited. I know there's some peoplethat aren't super happy about that, but
I would be willing to bet Kevina cup of coffee that you'll see more
people participating because of that. Andfor these type of series, these D

(18:52):
level kind of fun series. Theyare official, but that is the goal,
get people on track. We havea lot of serious racing and I
Racing doesn't have to always be tunedto the empt detail. But we also
brought up a new series really excitedabout and just saw the first super session
of it yesterday, the I RacingWeekly Challenge. This is pretty cool and

(19:15):
Chris I think, really likes thisand I'm actually going to pass it to
Chris on this. Yeah, Iwasn't this series your idea? Greg,
I'm happy to take it. Butyeah, I like where Credit is Due?
Yeah, credit where Credit is Due. Twelve weeks, different cars and
different tracks every week. So youknow, most of your traditional IE Racing
series it's the same car and youchange tracks. The two series we just

(19:37):
talked about, it's the opposite thisone. Everything changes so you get a
nice little selection of whatever you wantto do. We've got a season long
championship. We've got races every hour, a main event on Sunday. They're
nice short, short little events.Well they're twenty minutes, which is still
four times too long for my attentionspan. But nonetheless, you know,

(20:00):
you've got points championships. You've alsogot five dollars and I Raising credits awarded
each week to a random driver whomakes that top split on Sunday in the
main event, which is really cool. So this is just one of those
kinds of series that just encourages youto drive as much as you can.
And that's really what it's all about, right, you know, go try
different things, go have fun, learn different cars. You know, sometimes

(20:23):
you never know what kind of vehicle, what kind of track you're gonna like.
You might come in not think something'sfor you and then fall in love
with it. Well, Weekly Challengeis a series that allows you to try
these kinds of things without too muchpressure, without being committed for twelve weeks
to doing the same thing. Youknow, gets you out of your comfort
zone. You get to have alot of fun, and I mean,

(20:45):
I'm just watching the b roll andI just I just want to race.
This is why I usually don't havethe production feed on when we're doing the
show, because I get distracted byall the bright colors and you know,
movement. But this, this lookslike a blast. I might actually have
to run officials and go run lastYeah, I'm pretty excited about this,

(21:06):
and you're right. I mean,I was one of the there. There's
a lot of people involved in this. We had a lot of people in
the back end working on the techto make it so that have been really
open minded and with these new andkind of crazy ideas, sometimes a little
different from what we usually do atI Racing, but the tech to enable
these series like this to work ispretty exciting. Last week it was GT
fours and SEKA a lot of participation. This week, I think is can

(21:29):
be pretty big because both the carsare base package content. You got the
f F sixteen hundred at Olden Park, the Island configuration. I'm excited to
see, you know, see howit compared to the first week. You
know, we've got the nine toeleven GT three Cup cars Interlagos Skippies at
vr g R eighty six is atthe new and recently updated Okayama and it

(21:51):
goes on and on week eleven goingto be really popular. GT three's at
SPA. You know, nobody everruns that combination, No, but let's
you know, we'll get them inthere. But the cool thing that I
really like about this is what wealluded to is a twenty GMT. On
Sundays, we have a super sessionand it's not based by on I rating.
It's based off your weekly points, how well you did during the week.

(22:11):
The highest point scores, those arethe ones that make the top split,
and one random person in that topsplit we're gonna get five dollars an
I Racing credit, just a littlebit of a carrot to go chase.
So yeah, if you're you know, you're not somebody that's got a five
thousand I rating and can't you know, struggles to get into the top split.
But you're really good at a certaincar track combination, you have an
opportunity to make that top split, and if you do, you got a

(22:34):
decent chance at score some MY Racingcredits, which is pretty cool. But
yeah, check it out I RacingWeekly Challenge new on I Racing. As
I scroll back over to the outline. All right, let's throw over to
Kevin mc Esports Global Championship. Thishas been a really cool series. We
brought back this season. Yeah, second year we've run it, obviously,

(22:57):
made some changes to it. Itgot bigger and better than finale. We're
showing some recks already, but thefinale was this weekend. Cisco, Drew
Sean, the whole team did agreat job on a broadcast, great viewership,
really fun race. We did somedifferent things with some races going into
night, some races coming out ofthe night. You know, I think

(23:18):
they looked spectacular, had lots ofthe big name esports drivers involved, manufacturers
involved. Even ran a kind ofa support race for the season finale in
the g T fours this weekend. We'll probably do something similar next year.
Yet to be decided, but Ithink IMSU was pretty pleased with it.

(23:40):
It was on their channels, youknow, just a fun race to watch,
right, I mean, it waspretty cool to be kind of late
in the season, not a lotgoing on. One of the week's funny
story. I was watching it,just had it on on my TV,
had Twitch on my TV, andmy wife was doing something and she's like,
I didn't know there was a raceon this weekend. I'm like,
yeahs I racing really, you know. So the broadcast quality was great,

(24:03):
racing was great, and hope tobring that back next year. Yeah,
and it's really cool. You know. The finale Daytona is a little bit
of a preview of the Daytona twentyfour coming to I Racing in January.
Our biggest special events of the year, and actually, for those of you
are curious, you know special eventcalendar is out. We've added to it.
It's our biggest year of special events. There's the standard torch bears such

(24:27):
as the you know, the ImpsenDurance Races, Daytona twenty four U you
know, uh Seabring, Pettit LaMaa. But we've also expanded. We've
got a couple of fun ones, including the m X five hundred Chris right
out of Yes two not really,uh no, no more right out of
Moonhead. Before we get into that, I do want to say thank you.

(24:49):
I have been pushing you for yearsto move Crandon closer to the real
world date on Labor Day weekend, and you made it happen this year.
So I can't thank you enough. But oh God, the mark X five
hundred. Yeah, this was IRacing turned real world turned now I racing
again because Leeds had done this Moonheadin particular and kind of turned the m

(25:11):
X fives on Martinsville into a thing. I know, they do a toy
drive for Toys for Tots every yearin an endurance race. Some people saw
it in the real world said hey, that might actually be a fun thing.
You know, the MX five mightwork here. So we had a
real world test. I think whatDale Junior was there, Bobby Labonnie was
there. A few other people werethere drove it. So that was pretty

(25:33):
interesting. And yeah, as youmentioned, you know, we were looking
to add a little more fun tothe special events calendar. I know that
we do our annual MS Society charityevent that's already also a fun one,
but wanted to have a couple otherthings in there. So the MX five
hundred comes to life this coming summer, so yeah, I might actually have

(25:56):
to run that one too. Yeah, m X five hundred is gonna be
a ton of fun. All Yeah, the m S Charity Race is always
our memiest of special events, andwe're we're putting together something that should be
a little off the wall fun.For this year, we added oh go
ahead, I was gonna say,is as five hundred team or or solo?
That one is it's listed as solo. However, I mean we'll find

(26:22):
right here. I think we coulddo this team. Well, don't start
me in the car if we're doingthat. If you either even limited okay,
okay, one we get one resetfor it. So yeah, it
keeps it from being too mimi. And just for clarification, it's five hundred
laps. It's plenty. We don'tneed to go five hundred miles at Martin,

(26:42):
so five hundred lapses is still stillplenty of time. We also added
Msign Durrance Race, uh, thethe six Hours of Indy. So it's
five special events this year. Uhyeah, a lot of fun, you
know, the regular turning we havereturning the f F sixte hundred Festival presented

(27:03):
by BRSCC. That was really aton of fun. Runoffs are back the
SECA runoffs and that will go backto super Sessions now that we've got this
updated Super Session and a new trackright Road America this time, YEP and
Road America. So a ton offun. But yeah, looking forward to
that and once again we're off theoutline. But alright, it's fine,

(27:26):
it's fine. More editing, yay, yay, just call it our joker
lob. We took a few,Yeah, probably disqualified. Yeah that usually
get well. I don't know.Sometimes I run races in Yes two where
we do a bunch of them andit just really throws off and wins.
So you're gonna play with race formats. That's part of the that's what we're

(27:47):
doing with We have been playing withrace format Mester, Draft Master Weekly Challenge.
I have so many week thirteen seriesto submit to you in mid January.
Send them over Now, I gottabuild this up. Okay, well,
maybe one of them will make it. Well, let's flip it over
to chris'or actually keep it withChris World of Outlaws thrust Master Sprint Cars

(28:07):
series. Yep, and I actuallyhave my notes queued up. We are
recording this Monday morning, So Mondaynight is the last race of the calendar
year in Knoxville. It will beoff a couple of weeks and then the
series will come back January eighth. But it's been an interesting season so far.
Opened up pretty to the script wheremulti time champion Alex Bergeron took a
couple of victories, it has notquite gone his way since, has missed

(28:33):
some features, has had some badluck in some features. It's actually Ryan
Avila up at the top of thepoints by fourteen over Aden Forrester. Neither
of those guys has won a featureyet. As a matter of fact,
none of the top seven points haveactually won a feature yet. So gonna
be a really interesting second half ofthe season and to see how that all

(28:53):
kind of shakes out. You know, some series they reward wins, they
reward consistency. This is a seriesthat rewards consistency. You have to be
in that top twenty and make thosefeatures every race, and you definitely need
to try to finish in the topten as much as you can throughout all
those events, because if you don't, it's very easy to fall out of

(29:18):
the top certainly the top few spotsin the points, but sometimes even the
cut line. I mean, Bergerun'sgot two race wins, he's pretty safe
in eighth. But Kenny Miller usuallywe take fifteen and give them the licenses
for the next year. Kenny Miller'sgone back to back as of recording and
he's still only thirteenth in points. So you know, you can hit home

(29:38):
runs, but you're better off beingthat consistent three twenty three thirty three forty
hitter if you want to win thischampionship and if you want to take home
the lion's share of that twenty fivethousand dollars pro that's a baseball analogy for
our European listeners. Also, ifyou're a three to twenty hitter, you're
a haul. Well, you know, that's usually what Alex has been.

(30:00):
And he's got how many championships inthis series? More than Popovich? Not
one? Not two? Yeah, sorry, now I'm switching sports on you.
Yeah the basketball. Yeah, it'sit's it's crazy, all right,
well it is. Uh, that'sit for a new series and e sports
and content and all this good stuff. But twenty twenty three coming to a

(30:22):
close. I'm gonna go out andlimb and say this is the last podcast
of the of the year of twentytwenty three. Uh, really happy with
how this has gone this year. We've done a pretty decent job of this
five or six week tempo. Wedid not track. We found the rails
were back on track, So hopefullypeople enjoy listening to movies. I don't
know why, but hopefully they do. It's really silly. I think it's

(30:45):
just because Kevin and I fight likea couple of the entire time. But
yeah, really cool year and uh, you know, Cisco on this out
ask a pretty good question and wekind of talked about it in pre production,
but we didn't come up with theanswers. You know, what's something
that a project, something an Irasing that stands out to you from twenty
twenty three. It doesn't have tobe something you worked on, but you

(31:07):
know something that like really pops inyour head. Is, Hey, that
was cool. I'd like to seemore stuff like that moving forward. Kevin,
Oh, put me on the spot. Uh do an hour ago?
You're gonna yeah, but I've stillnot ready. I mean, I mean
tons of new content, which isalways great to see, right, I
hate to just focus on the latestthings. You know, we were talking

(31:29):
about LMP three cars kind of nearand dear to my heart. I used
to work for an LP three team, So that's that's kind of cool.
You can see the sure that way, right, So so that that's cool.
AST series was really good this year, really strong, so nice to
see that we're getting more support onthat, and the BMW sim Cup is
always a fun thing as well, and I think we're going to continue both

(31:52):
of those hopefully so more details, but I mean, overall, it's just
it's been a great year. It'syou. I Racing has grown a ton
in terms of our offerings, interms of our staff, brought on a
ton of new people. So it'sbeen fun to get to know those people
and work with new groups of peopleon some projects that maybe haven't seen,

(32:14):
you know, haven't come public yet, but we've got a lot of stuff
going on in the background, andit's been fun to be part of those
projects. What about you, Chris, I feel like a lot of this
stuff I don't know if I canor should talk about because some of it
is just the goofy stuff that wedo with Yes Too to kind of feature
test and give me ideas to feedyou for Week thirteen. Like if you

(32:36):
liked the ray f F sixteen hundredon rally Cross, that was me.
If you didn't, you're wrong. But also, you know, I do
have to shout out my off RoadChampionship Series drivers. You know, it's
a cool series. We had sometough breaks, I think with some of
the driving this year. But youknow, the All Stars always put on

(32:59):
a great show and the pros arealways working really hard to make that series
better, trying to contribute to makingoff road as a whole better on I
racing, so I love working withthose folks, but we work on so
many other amazing things, you know, in every discipline that we touch.
It's it's been a thrill to justkind of see Weekly Challenge pop up.

(33:22):
It's been a thrill to see Ringmeisterand Draftmaster pop up, some of these
different special events, all the differentthings kind of going on, and just
this incredible selection of all these differentcars that we have. Because that's that's
one of the most fun things forme, is to go take two three
totally different cars, totally different builds, and try to find tracks where they

(33:45):
match up on you know, onlap times, but they get their totally
different ways and content. If yousee Week thirteen series that are like that,
that's because I fed Greg some ideasthat we don't. So that's that's
my jib. How how weird ofa superclass can we create? That's that's
what I like doing. But niceI think I think the cool stuff to

(34:09):
me is the stuff that isn't supernecessary, isn't necessarily super sexy. The
back end improvements that we've made thathave made this it's the stuff you appreciate
that you don't even know about, you know, the optimization stuff where it
doesn't take six minutes to load intothe Nerbouer eren anymore. That's a ton
of fun. It made stuff likethat, made series like Ringmeister possible.
You know, those are the folksthat work on that stuff with the unsung

(34:30):
heroes of I Racing, because it'sthe stuff that makes the cool stuff that
we want to do palatable. Youknow, no one wants to take forever
to load into the really cool tracks. They just want it to happen.
They want to go and make racecard noises. Obviously, Ringmeister, Draft
Master Weekly Challenge those were exciting tosee come true once again. Though there's
a ton of people in the backend that have made these tech adjustments.

(34:53):
These sound like they're easy concepts ofjust make it happen. There's a lot
that has to happen on the databaseside, on the way the scheduler works,
the way points work, all this. It's incredibly complex, and we've
had a lot of people that wereexcited to try something different and that was
fun for me to see that cometo Fruition, seeing all of the addition

(35:13):
the big car counts, you know, the individual car counts that we see
first series like IMSA that allow usto have you know, ten eleven,
twelve cars. Now you know, dayton in twenty four and twenty twenty four
is going to be the most diverseDaytone and twenty four we've ever had.
Really excited for things like that, get so many different manufacturers, so many
different car classes involved, and itadds to that authenticity. So whenever Kevin's

(35:36):
wife is watching and she's like,oh, hey, is that a real
race, because it's not just oneor two or three cars, there's a
ton a ton on track, andit just makes I racing that much better.
As far as projects that you knowthat we're near and dear to my
heart, I'm a single seed guy. I love single seaters. And seeing
the f F sixteen hundred come online, seeing the super formula come online,

(35:59):
and working with Masterson and Liam Lawsonand making those cars as authentic as we
can. That was really satisfying tosee how the community responded to so much
work by once again, so manypeople, the vehicle dynamics engineers, the
vehicle production associates, the AI guysthat bring all this stuff to life.
There's so many people to touch everypiece of content. It's really satisfying when

(36:22):
you see it all come to fruitionbecause you know how many people were involved
in making that happen. So that'sthe stuff that is near and dear to
my heart. I'm excited for twentytwenty four. We have a ton that
we can't talk about. We've gota ton we can't talk about. It's
going to rain in twenty twenty four. That's going to definitely throw a wrench
into our special events. So yeah, it's going to be a lot of

(36:45):
fun, a lot of stuff lookforward to, but just a really cool,
once again cool company to work for. I say regularly, I have
my dream job. This is it'spretty sweet to get to work on this
stuff. And man, if Icould go back and talk towy year old
Greg and say this is the kindof stuff you'd get to work on and
be pork adjacent to, that'd bea cool pep talk. Yeah, I

(37:06):
believe you, twelve year old grade. No, probably not. He knew
everything, but uh yeah, andwrap things up. So you know this
is I think everybody Uh in nomarket, No, the marketing department is
going to be on holiday and somecapacity of the next couple of weeks.
Anybody got any plans, Kevin, you have a pretty exciting care package coming

(37:29):
home. Yeah, family will beall together, so that's cool. Uh,
Connor's home from college already, andRyan gets home. He's on leave
for a couple of weeks. SoI pick him up this afternoon in the
pouring rain down in Boston, fiveo'clock traffick. Yeah, it should be
great now, but I'm looking forwardto have everybody home. I'll be around.
I'm not really, I mean,I'm taking a few days off,
but I'll be around. So we'llstill be pushing things out and hopefully interacting

(37:52):
with the community with a break, because I know that we're We're actually pretty
busy race wise. A lot ofpeople have time off, a lot of
race is going on. Don't feellike I racing shutting down. There'll be
plenty of people on staff making surethings are working well and all that.
So you do any racing, you'regonna you're gonna get a little little wheel
time in. I'm gonna do someracing, Yes, I have to.

(38:14):
That's well to get ahead. That'spart of my New Year's resolution. But
I'm gonna start doing more eye racing. I've got to get back on board
with Nim's staff challenge, so he'schanged the whole point system, so I
feel like there's a slight chance thatI won't come in last with a new
point system, So that's going tomotivate me. So I'm shooting for second
to last this year, so we'llsee, right, you know, yeah,

(38:37):
yeah, Well see, I alwaysstack a bunch of vacation days at
the end of the year, andI joke that it's because I'm incompetent at
managing vacation days, but really it'sbecause the biggest Yes two race of the
year is between Christmas and New Year'sand it's one of the enduros that we
do that's multi class off road atCrandon. So really I'm taking all that
time off to prepare to go getmy butt whooped in that. But now

(39:02):
that's that's kind of my biggest thing. I think your vacation at the end
of the year really is just lackof planning because every year, like oh,
I got to take some time off. No no, no, no,
no, no. You see, sometimes these things are just a cover,
all right. And I've got totell a story about the white Elephant

(39:23):
gift exchange that we had at theChristmas party because this I got one over
on Drew and nobody, nobody believedthat I would have planned it this way.
But here we go. So Iwas pretty late in the order.
Drew was towards the very very end. But there is a zont gift if
you're familiar with, Let's make adeal, and Auto pulled it as the

(39:45):
very very first gift of the exchange. So I get in pretty late.
I pull somebody put in Lego speedmachines and it was like the Mercedes pair,
which would be one of the mostcoveted gifts in the gift exchange.
But if you know me, youknow that my vice is hot wheels.
And I've got more hot wheels thanDenny Hamlin has race starts, all ten

(40:06):
thousand of them, so I didn'tneed the Legos. I saw Steve Myers
light up when he saw the Mercedesbecause he had pulled the McLaren ones and
I just sort of said, yeah, you know, I'll learn some brownie
points here and I'll switch with him. Cisco comes up next and pulls a
tablet reader, which I wish Ihad brought in because it's actually a nice

(40:30):
little tablet reader. You know,it's cushiony, it's got a nice little
storage compartment in the back. Discoswaps with me, but Drew is towards
the very end, and it doesn'tmatter what Drew pulls, whether it's a
good gift or a bad gift. He's gonna pull the Mercedes, you know,
from Steve, because you know it'sa Yankee swap. You can steal
gifts from people. But Drew indoing that, drew attention to himself.

(40:53):
So when Otto, who drew thebad gift at the very end, you
know, gets the opportunity to nowswitch with somebody because he kicked it off,
Drew got stuck with the Zank gift. So if you ever see Drew's
office next year, it's going tohave a bunch of goofy photos all framed
all over it. And that wasmaybe my proudest and most cunning four y

(41:13):
chess instance of the entire year.I am so proud of that, Drew,
I got you, dude. Ithink everybody was happy that Drew ended
up with the gift. Yeah, that was pretty funny. That was pretty
funny. Was that as good though? Because as you brought up, Chris
Otto drew the goofy gift the firsttime out. He's the one who came
up with that originally, and hisreaction to landing it was probably the highlight

(41:37):
of my entire night that time.Oh sure, yeah, no, it
was a great reaction. But again, that was actually the best possible outcome
for him. By having the firstgift and drawing that first, you know,
you've got the entire playing field tolook at. Now you can go
get whatever you want. And whetheryou want to use that to just get

(41:57):
the coolest gift or whether you wantto use it to the person who was
thirty decibels louder than everybody else inthe room, the choice is yours.
The world is your oyster. Andyeah, he chose option B, and
uh that's them's the breaks, movingright along. Well, thanks for listening
