Speaker 1 (00:06):
This week on the I Racing Down Shift, we get
into all the latest from NASCAR twenty five and I
Rasing Arcade. We cover what's happening in the world of
I Racing esports, and we talk a little bit about
how safety rating works. All this and more is to
strap in.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Welcome to the I Rasing Downship, Tummy. He's Greg West,
I'm back of the boys, Kevin Bobba and Chris.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Leoni and sound Guyshan We're back. It's been like two months.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
It's been a while.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
In a minute more often, Yeah, I blame you, But
how many times? How many times have I asked about
doing the podcast?
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Lots? I've been busy. There's been so much going on.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
We have been busy. But we got a great show
as usual for everybody.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
You said that every time.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
No, no, that's not true. I had not say it
every time. Last time I said we had an okay
show or our mediocre show.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
So this one's going to be I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
This one's going to be great.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Have a great debt, love it, love it all Right,
we're gonna talk about what we've been up to. I'm
reading Chris's outline, you know, he puts it in Microsoft Word,
but I don't have word, so then it's.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Kind of weird.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
I don't know that sounds like a skill issue.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
We've moved up, We've moved on from talking about APA formatting,
so ay, we're gonna talk about NASCAR twenty five. I
rasing Arcade, Black Friday Sale, a bunch of stuff with
the esports. Sorry, Chris, I don't see much about dirt
on there. I don't know if you'll work it in
and I believe in it. And we've got some special
events to talk about, not to mention a little bit
of a tease on the season one built, and then
(01:48):
we might we might just throw a wrench into things
and talk about some.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Conversations from the forums that could be spicy.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Oh boy, sounds Kevin.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
What you been up to? Lots lots going on. Let's see.
Was it sim Racing Expo with you and Angela? That
was a good time.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Off in Germany, so many, so many great partners and
friends over there. Got to catch up. Talked a bit
about I racing, studios, I racing all of our products.
But it's always always a good time to catch up
with people. It's such a good community event, exciting that
they're bringing it over to Charlotte next year too, so
that's pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yeah, they're busy already and we'll be.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
There so more to come on that at some point.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I was talking to Luke earlier this week, Luke Crane
from Redline, who was also the MC from the event,
and he said they are already starting on Charlotte.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
There is no ain't no rest of the Wicked. But
what about your golf shirt? You're I Racing Racing golf.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
That's it got pretty positive reviews. But I will say
you either love it or hate it right who everybody
at the x Bow was trying to buy it from.
I could have sold that shirt off my back, which
would have been weird, but I could have done that.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Please spare us.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
But it's a great golf shirt, so you know, I
like to represent the brand.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
It is not a great golf shirt. For anybody that's wondering,
this is not a great shirt.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Oh my gosh, I don't know what to say.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
I mean, I was supposed to get an I Racing polo,
but somebody didn't bring.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
I will give you the golf shirt.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
I'm good, I'll make you wear it. So no, no,
thank you.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Tony likes the golf shirt. Steve likes the golf shirt.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
You know one of those two is listening to this podcast.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
A lot of them we don't know, and that's why
we think before we speak.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
That's why Sean can edit this thing we do.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Thanks Sean Real, MVP of the show, Chris, what have
you been up to?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I just got back a couple of days ago from
the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Did you get another
suit this year?
Speaker 4 (03:50):
No?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I did not get another suit this year, but my
friends at rally IX took me up with some gears,
so I did not come out of Vegas without new clothing.
So we're on a streak of that that I hope
to continue. I was walking the floor, had some conversations
with some great folks that hopefully you'll see in the
I Racing Paint Booth in coming seasons. But I also
(04:12):
got to be the camera person inside the rally xFC
one during Optima Unleash, so it was fun. I have
one camera that's filming Kevin Erickson as he's driving. I've
got one camera that I've got pointed outside of the
car and in the meantime, while he's doing donuts, with
the eleven hundred horse power car. I'm just trying to
make sure I don't hurl on my open face helmet.
So that was a blast all electric horsepower, which means
(04:35):
I know it's Kevin's favorite car. And the only downside
is the experience has probably ruined roller coasters for me forever,
because nothing is going to compare to being in that car.
We went from zero to sixty and under a second
and a half. It's pretty wild.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
The real question, the real question is did you come
home with any new diecasts for once?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
No, because I needed to load up on all the
free ste up from the show floor. So I got
the cylinders, I got some decals, I got a few
other things.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Kevin, whre is it than the employee handbook about gifts
and receiving and having to get permission depplicit permission from
the cylinders?
Speaker 4 (05:13):
I handed out that seema usually are not appropriate to
hang in an office wall.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Here, Muscle cars come on? Yeh, when was the last
time you went to SEMA? Okay, it was all fifty
sixties hot rods. It's a good deal. It's worth every
penny I paid for it.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
All right, Well, what about you? Greg? What have you
been doing besides racing Expo SIM.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Racing XPOL is a good time? I can I had
a you know my rental card. I can tell you
the number. It's electronically limited to. I'll tell you that
privately though. On the Autobahn so perfectly legal. What's a
special experiences when you're at that number and then you
get passed by a yellow porsa GT two?
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Is there? Is there anything else you want to talk
about on the autobon? No? No, no, leave that alone.
Then that's right?
Speaker 5 (06:01):
All the time?
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Holiday show, Holiday show. Yeah, no, we'll leave that alone. No.
When those cameras in the flash red, I don't know
what those red lights meeting. I don't know if those
red lights that is that a bad thing? So we'll
know how bad of the thing it was.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
I don't think it means you won.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
Yeah, but I don't know.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
We'll find out.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
But all right, let's get into it. I Racing Studios,
NASCAR twenty five. It's getting a pretty good reception, isn't it, Kevin?
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Oh, It's been very well received both the NASCAR community
the gaming community. People are loving it. Tons of great feedback,
tons of great reviews. What else can I say about it?
It's the next step is that it comes out on
Steam on the eleventh, which is on Tuesday, a couple
(06:49):
of days from now. I don't know when this is
actually hitting Sean. When this is going out Sean around then.
It's Friday today, so maybe this will be out Monday.
I don't know something like that unless we make Sean
work over the weekend. Should we do that? That's nice?
But now, But anyway, NASCAR twenty five has got an
awesome career mode. I think I made an announcement yesterday
that I won my Expanity Championship yesterday.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
So the congratulations, you know we're gonna move what different're
going to move up from rookie.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
I have now won more races in NASCAR twenty five
than I have in I racing, So that tells you
something about my skill set. Really anyway, Okay, super fun.
What else? Oh, there's a DLC PAC coming out soon,
which will be I don't know. Can we talk about that, Chris,
I guess we've talked about it.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Yeah, similar to the last one, you know, we'll have
We'll have a substantial amount of paint schemes, you know,
across all the different series. You know, it was part
of the part of the Season Pass and part of
the Gold Edition, so you know, just adds a little
more realism to to your opponent car experience and when
you're playing as your favorite driver and single player yeap.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
And Career Mode is super fun, and I know Chris
has been hard at work putting a lot of walkthroughs
on the site so you can kind of of get
a feel for what it's about before you buy it,
but definitely check it out. Career Remote, I think is
super fun. I love that on these types of games.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
So yep.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Certainly lots of tips and tricks and strategies things like
that in there. You know, as with anything, you know,
the more strategic you are, the better result you can get.
You know, you've got to manage those employees, you get
to manage that equipment, and that's how you get the most.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Out of it. Yep, yep. And what else was I
going to say? I don't know, I don't know, I
don't know. I thought I had something else to say
about NASCAR.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
You guys been making any fun paint schemes on the booth?
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Painter no, so I no, I have to say no.
Good Paint NASCAR twenty five dot com is where you
can learn more about it and figure out how to purchase,
or I Racing Studios dot com that works as well,
so lots of options there.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
We also have I rasing ArKade. The demo is out.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
It's been a lot of fun to see the reception.
We had that at the Fantasy booth at the at
the SIM Racing Expo. They set up a couch with
a big screen TV.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
So it's just perfect. That's why I played here.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
It's fantastic.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Yeah, awesome.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
I'm curious how many controllers they went through because it
was a wireless controller, and I'm curious of how many
walked off.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
Hopefully none. Hopefully some community was good to them.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
But no, there was a line there the entire time.
It was cool to see the reception. It was the demo.
If you haven't tried it, go try it. It's free.
It's the Portion nine eleven GT three Cup car at Sekuba.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
It was one of the top fifty most played demos
during Steam Nextfest and we're excited for December second full
launch of the game. I think you will probably see
some more stuff coming out in the near future, maybe
Kevin a def diary.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
I know that we are working on a lot of
cool stuff, So dev diary is coming maybe next week ish,
depends on when we get all pieces put together, but
lots more social content will be pushing out to make
sure you follow the social handles because you'll get to
see more cars, more tracks, all that kind of stuff
to really get a feel for the game.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
So yeah, we've announced that one.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
So we've announced all the cars and all the tracks
at this point, so seven cars, fourteen tracks, uh, and
there will be more to come after that. And once again,
that's on a PC only released on December second, and
we'll have Xbox in PlayStation in the spring. Don't have
a date yet, but looking forward to uh to getting
that knocked out, and.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
We're probably worth mentioning on that. That just a reminder
the game is designed for controller roller. There's wheel support.
It's not built for that. It's not that sort of game.
So let's just get in front of that so that
people aren't wondering why the wheel doesn't work. It's not
supposed to.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
It's not supposed to. We tried it.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
The way the physics is simplified and designed, it just
does not work with wheels. Uh so this is controller
and actually keyboard.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Keyboard is a but.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
It's it's great on a on a like an Xbox controller,
you know, plugged into your PC. It's it's you can
tell it's made for that really drive. It's really fun.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
It does say arcade right in the title.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Yes, that's a giveaway, right, Yeah, that's with that right,
but you know, I just wanted to point that out.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
What's really cool too is you don't have to have
a high powered PC to run this. I've run it
on a PC that was not a gaming PC. Just
the regular Intel built in graphics card will run the game.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
So yeah, really excited for them. Yeah great, all right,
moving on I racing news. It's that time of year, Kevin.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Black Friday is back. I can tell you that the
marketing team is tired of me talking about Black Friday
because it's Yeah, it's a big promotion, you know, the
a lot of little pieces that go into it to
make sure it all works right. So we've been working
on for a while, but it just started this week
and it runs until December. Second, is that right, Chris?
I always have to look at Chris. Yeah, make sure
I have my dates, right, I should know that. But yeah,
(11:43):
so fifty percent off new memberships. If you're not a member,
you can sign up for any four of the membership
types we have one month, three month, twelve month, twenty
four month get it half off. And if you're an
existing member or a member that has let their membership laps,
you can get twenty five percent off when you've signed
backup or early renew for twelve months or twenty four months.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Not a bad not a bad thing.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
All the details are on iRacing dot com slash black Friday,
and I'm sure the support team or something, right, So,
I'm sure the support team would like us to clarify
that if you do that twelve or twenty four month
renewal as an existing member with a current current subscription,
that it tax on to the end. That's right.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
I lose count every year of how many emails we
have that discusses that particular fact. So if you do
it now and your membership was going to expire on
Jan one, twenty twenty six, then with the twelve month
it'll expire Jan one, twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 5 (12:40):
Just to be abundantly clear about.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
That, Yep, yep, absolutely so. I racing dot Com slash
black Friday for all the details.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Check it out.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
All right, e Sports Championships, we got a bunch going
on right now. If or Esports Global Championship presented by
Mosa Chris thirty nine battles going after thirty five grand
and we're about to start the well, I guess third round,
second weekend.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
So the most fun thing about this series to me
is the fact that you don't know where you're racing
until twenty four hours beforehand. And to me, coming from
the forms of racing that I come from, I love
that you can't You can't just spend all sorts of
time practicing, practicing, becoming a robot and just nailing your lines.
You got to get in there, you got to adapt
(13:24):
real quickly, and so Henry Moore was the first person
to be able to do that.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Take the victory at.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Zandvoort, Dana Moore at Road Atlanta. So if you want
to watch these races Saturdays nineteen zero zero GMT November eighth,
November twenty two, December sixth, that's when we've got the
remaining three double headers of the season, and somebody's going
to walk away with a nice little check at the
end of this.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yeah, and some really close racing the four cars. I
think the Road Atlanta race was less than a tenth
of a second line, so really good racing.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
And to tie that back to I Racing arcade doesn't
have four car in there, right, there is an f
F I a F four car. Pardon me, I got
the name wrong, but that's a fun car in our
arcade as well.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
We don't have Road Atlanta yet, No this time, maybe
maybe some time, right, we might find it if they're listening.
We also have the MC Esports Global Championship kicking off yep,
fourth season, Chris go for chrism.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Sorry, I've been watching the I've been watching the World Series,
and I watched that catch at the bottom of the
ninth and I guess I just ran you over there, Kevin.
Speaker 5 (14:36):
But we're going nextra innings now.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
So you're turning it over to me, even though no, no,
oh god, I.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Was under the impression Kevin was talking about.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
I'm happy to the Esports Global Championship is already running, right.
We had Round one kicked off November. I think what
else can I say? BMW red Line one, GTP Classy
Sports Run one GTD that was at Rhade Atlanta. We've
got Seabring, Long Beach and Daytona and in December, right Christmas,
(15:11):
I'm gonna ends. Uh.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Daytona closed it out December seventh. But yeah, the interesting
thing about the November twenty third round is the GTPs
are going to go to Long Beach and the gtds
are going to go to Vio.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
We've split the races. I forgot. That's that's new this year.
I think we didn't do.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
First time it's happened in series history. See, that's why
I called for the fly ball because I was ready.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
You knew I was going to flow it.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
We've never done baseball analogies on the shelf.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Yeah, I don't know that.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
There seems to be something ironic about that to me,
if you if you really think about it.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Yeah, yeah, not lost on me.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
But let's also not forget the grid Finder LMP three
Challenge support races for these two remaining November rounds, where
there are going to be some all stars and there
are going to be some people who have qualified in
with the community, some twenty minute sprint races with the
LMP three car. That's going to be a blast. That
is such a fun car to drive, and I think
that's going to put on excellent, very popular support.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
I will be clear, since it's all stars, Greg, myself
and Chris are not going to qualify.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
For that accurate that is that is an accuracy.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
When have you ever seen me go out for a
road race?
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Come on, yes, two does it occasionally?
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Yeah, but I did a couple of staff races back
in twenty twenty when I made you do that.
Speaker 5 (16:22):
So I'm pretty sure I did Crandon on a controller
and that was about it.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
Okay, Yeah, all.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Right, special events. We got a bunch of them coming up.
Suzuka one thousand. This weekend, No, next weekend, No, not
this weekend. Yeah, not this weekend. Sorry, I'm looking at
the Yeah.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
No, that's true.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
We're doing the verification today. It's remember fourteenth through the sixteenth.
There we go, it's this weekend as this airs.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
In the future. Yes, it's like the last podcast shifting.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
We're doing time shifting. Yeah, alright, Tony, really sorry, I
promise we're good at our jobs.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Please. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
But Suzuka one thousands, So we've got GT three's racing
there at Suzukah Obviously we've got the sec A runoffs. Chris,
how many eleven eleven sixty car fields of eleven GT
three manufacturers?
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Off the top of my head?
Speaker 4 (17:22):
I know this sounds pretty good.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Does anyone remember we used to just be able to
put six cars in the sim?
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (17:31):
This is where this is where Kevin's going to say,
I remember we could put one card. I've been here
since before we had a product.
Speaker 4 (17:37):
If you wanted to point that out, that is true.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
So I think the thumbnail for this needs to be
Kevin walking around with the I Racing sign and trying
to get in the shot and speed channel.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
That's that's how long Kevin's been here.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
That's a blast from the past.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
Yea, I have been here a while. What can I say?
Speaker 1 (17:57):
All Right, So scc A runoffs Chris, Yes, Classes November
twenty second is the big day. We're running the super
session format again, I believe Greg. Yes, Yes, so super
session format, which is really cool. You run races all
week long and those determine what split you're going to
be in when you run the super sessions on the weekend.
(18:17):
So six classes here, USF two thousand, GT four Spec Racer,
Ford Global MX five, Cup, Renault Cleo and Formula V,
which you know, if you love if you love road racing,
that that is one heck of a lineup right there.
And I believe we said Road America for this year.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Yeah, Road America, because that's where the runoffs are in
real life. And it's really interesting if you go look
up videos of Formula V racing at Road America because
it's basically Talladega, especially this straight away going to turn five.
You know, you just draft locked. This is one of
my favorite special events of the year. The way we
do it with the broadcast team and you just get
(18:59):
basically six hours of racing. It's just like watching the runoffs,
and you get a variety of names that you don't
necessarily normally see because you have to qualify in.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
It is a little different.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
There's a lot of opinions on it, but it's the
one that I like to sit back on the weekend
and just watch a lot of good racing. So looking
forward to that might dip in USF two thousand. I'venna
to show up and show and go that one a
little bit to USF two thousand and Rotomax good combination,
but yeah, that one's exciting. We've got twenty twenty six
(19:30):
special event calendar, as a reminder, usually comes out around
the first week of December, about halfway through.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
It, so we're sort of on track for that.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
We are on track for that.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
We're trying. It's the big chess game of the year.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
It's you know, balancing all the special events with all
the special series and all the other stuff that's going
to pop up and trying to make.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
It not overlap.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
So it will be out hashtag soon, hash tag soon.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
We also have the Winter I Racing NASCAR series, which
has the best acronym in all of these sports, win
wins hashtag wins. Then in nineteen eighty seven NASCAR Cup Cars,
we got both fixed and open setups back. Really excited
for that one as well. I know that community is
gets fired up for that. Now the NIS is over,
you still have something to do over the winter time,
(20:17):
so it should be a really good time there. And
then we also have the twenty twenty six season one
build coming out second week of December KEF very soon,
very hashtag.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
Soon, very soon. And I'm pleased to tell you that
Greg Hill's dev blog is in the works and that
is actually coming out soon. I would expect that next
week so or this week, depending on when you're listening
to this. But it's in the works and that will
have much more detail as to what's coming. Can't really
spill the beans yet. Greg asked me not to he
(20:50):
wanted to other Greg, that's right, I wouldn't listen to you,
but the other grad did this.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
I'm used to that.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
No, So Greg's working on it. It'll be out next
week and that will kind of give you the lay
of the land. What's coming in December. The December build
is on the sixth or seventh.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Remember that Tuesday is yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Whatever that Tuesday is so in about a month, so
this is typical timing for the dev dev blog. But
be on the lookout for it. I'm sure let the
community know when it's out.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
So this is a few weeks for marketing with the
NASCAR NASCAR twenty five Steam release, I've got Iris and
Garcade coming out December second, and then following week got
the season season one build.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
So hey, speaking of marketing, what did you guys think
of the the NASCAR twenty five spot with Dale Junior.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
I thought that was that was pretty cool, especially I
had no idea that was happening, and then I saw
it natively.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
I was like, whoa, what is this?
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Where did this come from? Yeah? No, we have to
thank we have to thank NASCAR for it. The NASCAR
productions did all the hard work. But it came out
really great. I thought, really quality piece. So nice to
have the support from NASCAR on the game.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
All right, Moving on, this is the one that that
Kevin confused me on on whether we were doing this part.
I thought we were gonna do some little spicy We're
gonna talk about something from the forms that people will's
talk about it.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Let's talk about it, Kevin.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Safety rating. I mean, you've been around since the beginning.
You were you know, you've at the beginning of safety rating.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Yeah, I have been. What do you want to talk
about it?
Speaker 3 (22:31):
The weekly thread of safety grading?
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Okay, yeah, I was probably being too nice there, the
daily thread at least by yeah, every other day.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Safety rating is not fair. In the real world. You're
not punished if somebody else makes a mistake.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
It's a pretty sure system, I think, But go ahead.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I've raced in the real world. Again, it was just
Formula V. But Kevin, you've done some lemons racing, right, yep. Yeah,
if somebody else makes a mistake and hits your car,
what happens.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
I probably get upset and then I bring it back
to the paddock, and I get my check book out
and I buy a new fender or suspension part or
something like. It's on me. It's are you my problem?
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Right, So you do receive some negative impact if somebody
else makes a mistake in the real world, and usually expensive, right.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
It's usually it's usually dollar signs.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
I think maybe we just need you know, that needs
to be like the new tagline of safety rating, it's
it's just about it's about the money somebody else hits you. Yeah,
we messed up with safety rating points. You should have
made it dollars.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
Safety rating is about everybody is involved in the incident
is impacted.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
There is no assign blame. It's an automated system. Right.
We have thousands of races every every week. Right, there's
no way to manually review review every incident. I mean,
think about how many corners of there are too. The
math is it's.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Impossible, ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
Yeah, and this is this is a system that works.
I mean we have there is a protest for other things. Right,
if you think somebody's driving into you intentionally, that's a
different story, right, But in the end, your card's still damaged.
In the real world. You know, if somebody in the
real world intentionally wrecks you, they may get suspended from
the series, right because they violated series rules, But your
(24:26):
car is still mangled, right.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
I think it was the old FIA rule.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
I guess they changed it what two years ago, but
it was like if you caused an incident the other guy,
might you know, take a fifty g impact into the wall,
five second penalty, right, right, So I mean there is
president for this, but yeah, it's I think the other
part of it too is it is, uh, when you
get digcause somebody else makes a mistake, you go back
(24:51):
and look at it. It's you can always find not
always most of the time. I mean sometimes you're in
a bad spot and that that's called racing. But yeah,
you can look at it like could I have done
something different? Could I have seen that coming? Because that's
that's racecraft. You can't win it and turn one. You
can't win it on a lap five. You have to
be there at the end. And being there at the
(25:12):
end is standing out in trouble too, including other people's trouble.
I see this forum thread all the time, and you
know you don't want to jump in and start an
internet argument, but I really do want to. I did
want to bring that up and say, no, there is
precedent in the real world for how we do things.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Is it perfect?
Speaker 4 (25:29):
No?
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Are the things that you know probably could be looked
at and continually improved. Hey, that's why we put a
build out every ninety days. We're always looking to improve.
But I think once the red mess clears, if you
look at it, you can usually find some stuff that
makes sense.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
So the other thing to consider is like, if you
are in an incident and you get a four X,
it doesn't really move your safety reading very much. And
your safety writing isn't a score anyway, Like there's no
points for having a four point nine. You know, it's
it's just a number. It's just rating, just an average, right,
So if it moves up or down a little bit,
it is what it is. Keep racing, have a good time.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Same thing. I rating is not a score.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
But I think there was a lot of people on
the Internet that would would debate the battle.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Start an argument, I rating is a matchmaking tool. No,
I rating is the score. Gosh, it is a match
making tool.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
Speaking of arguments, this is a segue into something I
want to do on the next podcast that Tony brought
up is let's have a discussion about who we think
the top I racers or top SIM racers have been
over the over the years. Tyler, bring bring a few names,
we'll discuss them. Maybe we'll get some comments from people,
because I'm sure we won't have it right according to
(26:42):
some But I think there's a lot of good names
out there. But I think we should, uh, we should
all bring a list of who we think would would
belong on that that that top list.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I think the hut has definitely got to be in
the conversation, Greg, you were not far off the mark there.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
Sorry, yeah, I would. I'm not not joking at all.
He throw a tea hut in there's an og for sure.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
But no, we should, uh you know, when we do
social on this, let's let's put it put in the comments.
Let us know who you think the best SIM racers
are of all time and why and and maybe we'll
read a couple of comments on the next podcast. I
didn't run that by anybody. I just I did say
that right now.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
I love it. And you know, and for those that
are asking, how are you rating them, it's up to you.
You know, are they the fastest, are they the most consistent?
Did they contribute the most to Samarasing? However, whatever your
criteria is, it doesn't matter. Just just tell us who
you think would be on that list and why.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
All right now, under section four B, there's it says,
whatever else we can bring out?
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Do we have anything else we need to bring up?
Speaker 5 (27:49):
You know I can't. I can't think of anything.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
But all right, well hey when look when I send
you guys the the outline, I give you every opportunity
to add things in there.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
I just it is I adjusted it, did I not?
Speaker 1 (28:03):
You?
Speaker 5 (28:03):
Did you took one or two things out?
Speaker 3 (28:06):
And I reordered it and I added the safety rating
discussion I contributed. You get a thank you, thank you, Mark.
It's all I wanted. That's all I wanted is a
good job. Thank you. My day is made, all right.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
NASCAR twenty five coming to PC what November eleventh. We've
got Iris s Arcade coming out December second. Sean put
in chat that the season one build is December ninth.
We were all by two days.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
