Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hi everyone, and welcome back once more. This is the
final podcast and our series of the seven piece of
transformational leadership, that being purpose, promises, projects, persuasion, praising, perseveres
(00:26):
and preparation. This week we're looking at leadership in action.
At the moment, I'm in the process of doing a
mind map of all the key points.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Of the seven piece. I'm about seventy percent the way
through that. Unfortunately, my good lady Wife has been on
well and I haven't managed to complete it in time.
But I'll include a link at the bottom of this
podcast and two links actually, one to the current mind
(01:03):
map as it is, and another one to a PDF
version of it. So please check back from time to
time and I'll complete it and also put some hyperlinks.
And at the same time this week i'll put a
couple of links as well that you may find useful
in your own personal internal research and studies about leadership.
(01:31):
So what does leadership and action look like? That's a
great question and one that I and my colleagues don't
take lightly. What did it say to you? Is if
I was sitting across from you or going from a
go for a wee walk, what it would normally do
(01:53):
is sit down with my coaches and we'd have a
week cup of tea or go for a walk and
a local park or along a riverside a riverside what way?
And if I had the opportunity to share with you
(02:15):
what I think the most valuable words of wisdom that
I could share, let's this is what I would talk about.
Remember that if you're not flourishing individually, the likelihood of
you enabling your workers or custmas to flourish is really,
(02:40):
really small. Just as it is we would say with
an airline safety announcements when we got up before where
we start flying, before we leave the ground, they ask
you to put on your own oxygen masks first. I
would suggest to you that you put your oxygen mask
(03:03):
on first and make a promise to choose I the word,
choose to flourish personally, take the purpose principle and drive
the concepts a mile or kilometers five k find just
one I there, hope, dream more aspiration, grab hold of it,
(03:27):
never never let it go. I would suggest to you
to make a decision, make a decision about your priorities
and promises that you'll make to the people that matter
most to you. I'd also suggest you tell that promises.
(03:48):
Tell about the promises and priorities you make. They define
you as a person, and they are the pipeborne of character,
reminding you that they're dead directly linked to what you
articulate in the purpose principle. And you're far far more
(04:11):
capable of choosing each and every day what the quality
of your life, your personal life will look like. You're
not a victim, nor.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Are you or anyone else, and control the entire universe,
but you have an amazing life.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Please choose carefully each and every day, focus and value creation.
Forget the methodology, gay forget what you do technically, live, breeze,
and do everything you can't understand your customer's experience. I'd
(04:57):
say to you that what matters most it is making
people's lives easier. When you do that, not only will
your workers and your customers' lives be more rewarding, but
yours will as well. Remember that in every single meeting, email,
or any other form of interaction, you have an opportunity
(05:21):
to persuade someone to support you and have them embrace
your workers and customers flourishing, and remind you that you
make a difference in people's lives and that you should
accept that responsibility fully with enthusiasm, because with your purpose promises, priorities,
(05:49):
learning and growth, you can create a community of light
minded people who do it amazing work. I'm asking you
to be a catalyst for community and connection well you
purposely help people cultivate the mindset of what's working aye
(06:10):
what's working well as opposed to all the challenges, all
the difficulties, I'd suggest to you, every challenge coming over
the horizon is an opportunity for excellence. Infuse your insights
from the praising principle in every hour of your day,
(06:31):
and by purposely helping people feel good about themselves, you
really infuse hope and optimism into their work life, allowing
them to flourish. Suggest to you to become an exemplar
of hope, optimism and praise. I would suggest to you
(06:58):
as well, never give up. There is work that only
you can do, and that your work. The world needs
it needs you more than ever to hold through to
what you find noble and uplifting. It's grabbing hold of it,
(07:19):
see it, feel it, touch it in your mind's eye,
have it, breeze it so it's in every pore of
your body and never never lose sight of that. In
every corner of your organization, people are watching. They're paying
attention to what you do and say in face of
(07:43):
some would call you maybe filut at times, unrelenting adversity,
adversity that can leave you drained and aye, you want
to give up disenchanted, continuously purposefully, but one foot it's
in front of the other. Your talent is important, but
(08:03):
your perseverance, that's it. That's surreal game changer. It also
suggests focusing on the preparation principle, the discernment and wisdom
that you have within you about your leadership, your relationship
with people that matter most to you, and the impact
(08:27):
that you're having in all areas of your life. They
are accelerated with the transformation examination. Where did I create
the most value well being today? Where was I most
present in the moment today? What were the two most
pivotabal events today? And what is my reaction? Where today
(08:52):
do I regret not living up to my highest potential?
What am I used up about creating tomorrow? And why
the preparation principle really is a hub of trans transformational
leadership and all the other principles extend from that. You
(09:15):
need to prepare yourself to go on a transformational journey,
and at the end of the journey, be pre there
to review the journey and reinvent in any way, shape
or manner a forum that works for you. You get to
choose you personally, get to choose how you want to
(09:36):
live your life, both personally as well as professionally. And
the last thing I would say to you is this,
love is the most transformational emotion that you and I have.
Love propels us and it changes us. So fall in
(09:57):
love with an ideal, hope, dream, or aspery. Fall in
love with your workers and your customers. Fall in love
with doing valuable work, fall in love with infusing hope
and optimism wherever you go. Fall in love with praising
people for doing their best work. And fall in love
with the pain and discomfort of moving forward in times
(10:20):
of overwhelming adversity. I'd also say, fall in love with
the notion that each and every day can be filled
with personal and professional flourishing. The world needs more people
on fire with human flourishing. Are you impored? I believe
(10:41):
you are. Go, dream, dear, and dazzle your world. Next week,
we'll explore something called heart leadership till then you're buying
(11:03):
to be B
